Re-Washed LDT
Presse:

My Little Dog (tony Dee, Oscar Barila & Sergio Parrado, Aldo Cadiz, Arnaud Le Texier) - Limited 04

After the succesful MLD Limited 02 now is the time for some remixes. On the A side, the Italian man of the moment, Hollen (Saved / Suara), makes a massive remix of "Open your mind" by his label partner Tony Dee. Coming up, the epic German duo Dole & Kom (Bondage / Acker) put their hands on Oscar Barila & Sergio Parrado "Trip to Rio" and turn it into an exquisite dubby and groovy tech house piece.

The B side starts with a wonderful South American taste. The Argentinean Ronan Portela (Mindshake / Bla Bla) remixes "Press" by the Chilean Aldo Cadiz. And the result of this perfect combo is nothing but a peaktime dancefloor monster. The ep finishes with a Pawas (Night Drive / Brise) rework of Arnaud Le Texier "Static". Mr Gupta goes still deeper than the original and puts the icing on the cake to another massive release.

Supported by Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Steve Lawler, Dubfire, Marco Carola, Paco Osuna, Cristian Varela, Butch, Martinez, Marko Nastic, Danilo Vigorito, Kaiserdisco, Djuma Soundsystem, Hermanez, Wehbba, Fabrizio Maurizi, Hector Romero, Gel Abril, Sascha Sonido, Alex Costa, Paul C, Mihai Popoviciou, Beatamines and many many more!

Stefan Goldmann - Live At Honen - In Temple

"Live At Honen-In Temple" is a document of a one-off site-specific performance in one of the most impressive settings a live electronic concert could possibly ever have. Featuring a wealth of new and unreleased material, Stefan Goldmann has custom-tailored a sound world as clearly detailed as the hidden gardens of Honen-In. Microtonal drifts, metallic grids and delicate turns merge into a gleaming monolithic pull. Embedded in the slopes of the Eastern hills of Kyoto, Japan, the Honen-In Temple marks the boundary between city and forest. By day, only its outer gardens are accessible. For this intimate concert, Honen-In opened its doors to a handful of listeners, exposing its intricate inner halls and gardens. Specifically selected and arranged for this night and site, Stefan Goldmann's music goes through an hour of transformations. The side walls of the main hall removed, electronics unobstructedly merged into the surrounding acoustic environment, while daylight faded into the dark of night. This concert performance was part of the Villa Kamogawa artist residency by Stefan Goldmann in Kyoto, Japan.

Cocoon Records - Dots & Pearls 2 (2x12")

Cocoon Recordings is back in full force with the follow up to last year's superb vinyl compilation 'Dots & Pearls'. Providing a tracklisting that is nothing less than the modern interpretation of House, Techno and Tech-House 'Dots & Pearls II' eschews monotonous loops and predictable formulas and rather delivers a selection packed with energy and depth. Ilario Alicante and Todd Bodine have the honour of opening the record and very much set the tone for the feel of the album. 'Modern Apocalypse' gives the impression that the duo wanted to produce a matching track to follow up Ambivalent's 'Iwato' in a DJ set. The record has a wonderfully stripped and spacious feel to it, conjuring up an early hours feel with its entrancing effect and stabs plucking at the air around you. Next up we have Subb-an feat. Jacob Phono with 'In The Night' a track that explores how the sound and atmosphere of big 90s Techno acts like Underworld can be transferred into our contemporary Minimal and Deep House universe, a task in which they succeeded brilliantly. Resonant beats and percussions, some 808 claps, funky fills and filtered layers match perfectly with the hypnotic vocals and form an impressing overall result that fits into the DJ's set at any time during the night. Mark Reeve's contribution 'Carry Me' springs from typically Reeve-like UK-influenced House sounds. Softly filtered layers and cool vocal elements provide the right mood, and the long build-up with much patience and even more emotion makes 'Carry Me' one of the best and deepest British Tech House tracks in recent times, a certain winner for fans of 20:20 Vision and Global Communication.

Aksutique - Notch Fields Ep

Aksutique is the moniker of Matthias Springer for his deep ambient techno, dub techno and downbeat productions. Matthias has released several productions over the years, ranging from techno to chill out music under different names. The Notch Fields EP is the first vinyl release for Aksutique and features 3 tracks of aquatic dub influenced deepness that sucks you right into its maelstrom of endless echoes, synth swirls, noises and reverberated chords. 'Echolot' for example is a pure intense submarine cinematographic infinite journey that takes you into the depths and never lets you free again. The record features an additional dark and electronic rework by Valanx aka Arne Weinberg that drenches the original in eerie voices, electronic sounds and deep bass. Not for the faint hearted.
300 handnumbered limited vinyl copies only. No digital distribution.

06.05.2013

After last year's dystopic debut, 'Super Strength EP', rising Parisian Cédric Bros AKA Marcelus returns to Tresor with something a little more deep and shiny in 'Emerald'. Once again Marcelus conjures up the spirits of Detroit and Berlin techno, moulding them here into dreamy modern house incantations—an inspired blurring of the lines the well-versed Frenchman has been rehearsing over the last decade. It was two astounding first releases for DJ Deep's Deeply Rooted House imprint that made the underground dance community sit up and take notice, records that emitted an unprecedented level of craftsmanship for a fresh-faced newcomer.
*He has continued to impress on follow up releases over the last few years, meanwhile proving to be a flexible and intriguing sound designer, playing with numerous styles and yet always turning in something distinctly 'Marcelus'. 'Emerald' is no different, but instead of tough and rushing euphoria, he delivers something altogether warm and frothy, revealing yet another side to this prismic producer, as well as adding a lighter node to the Tresor catalogue.

TONE CONTROL
06.05.2013

Suitdancer, according to creator Marcus Harris (of production duo Tone Control) is an attempt to distill the vibe of the "electronic music, inherited soul records and cult VHS films I consumed as a kid".

In this exploration into late night, leftfield territory, Suitdancer carefully collates searing synthesisers, obscure samples and broken drum machines in a heady, yet danceable style. To round off the EP, Mr. Beatnick steps up to provide a Berlin inspired dub for those who like their house music raw.

This debut from Suitdancer is the first of three EP's that accompany mixes and videos that explore a spectrum of influences. Marcus absorbed audio inspiration for this long - gestating project from seminal producers including: Carl Craig, James Stinson, King Tubby, Giorgio Moroder, Conny Plank and Nile Rogers. Contemporaries of the Suitdancer sound include John Talabot, Luke Abbott, Gold Panda and Pye Audio Corner.

Marcus Harris, is one half of Tone Control, who have been progressively releasing their own brand of electronic soul for over 8 years, appealing to house music and leftfield DJ's alike. Following the release of their critically acclaimed "Illusion" single, much lauded by Theo Parrish and Kerri Chandler, the duo went on to find wider appeal with their smash "Take Me Away" ft. Adeola Ranson, and subsequent singles "Without Your Love" ft. James B. Coleman and "Starting with Me" with Robert Owens.

Darko Esser - Out Of Context Ep

It's been 4 years since labelboss Darko Esser released an EP of his own on Wolfskuil Ltd. The focus as of late has been on his Tripeo project, resulting in two vinyl only Trips to critical acclaim. All the studio activity led to a whole bunch of other music as well and a few of his favorite sessions are bundled on this conceptual EP.

We all can relate to the feeling of being Out Of Context, that we have lost touch with our environment and the people around us or are simply just lost for words. Darko translated these abstract feelings into a soundtrack in three parts (Space, Time, Translation) as music is sometimes a better indicator of how we feel then words. Not suprisingly the result is a soundtrack that is quite moody, hypnotic and multi-layered. It's dub- and detroit-techno, Esser style. Recognizable but at the same time very distinct and personal, melodies wrapped in abstract sound design, the atmosphere both happy and sad.

Ambiguity and introspection have always been a big part of his work, this EP just takes it to the next level.

John Beltran - Amazing Things 2x12

John Beltran

Amazing Things 2x12

12inch98DSR/JBT-LP2
Delsin Records
18.04.2013

After the well-received and career-spanning compilation that was 2011's Ambient Selections, John Beltran returns with a brand new album entitled Amazing Things, due for released on Delsin records in March 2013.
As a life long pioneer of ambient soundscapes, blissful downbeat and stirring techno, Michigan born John Beltran already has his place in history assured with a bulging back catalogue that takes in influential releases on vital labels like Peacefrog and R&S. This new 17-track album sees the man draw on his lifetime in music to craft an immediately timeless body of work that's stuffed with genuine musicality, pregnant with emotion and laden with organic blissfulness.

Since Beltran's last original full length, he admits a lot has changed. "I'm using all new gear and virtual synths that I didn't have when writing Human Engine so it sounds different for sure. And let's just say that this album still wouldn't be finished had a friend not turned me on to the software Omnisphere."

Despite new tools and techniques, Beltran's touch still shines through in his floating arrangements, opposing textures and organic resonance, as do the continued influences of favourite artists including Four Tet, Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood.

"There was no real plan (for the album). Some of these songs ("Clouds Pull") are over two years old. This album is truly an accumulation of music inspired by my life as a new father but I didn't write these songs for an album per say. I guess it was just written with a lot of love."

Love - and feelings thereof - permeate the album from start to finish. Tracks like opener "Retrouvailles" immediately submerge you into a utopian world with the distant sound of a playground coming over like the backdrop to a daydream, whilst more kinetic, splintered efforts like "Het Leven is Mooi" recall the aforementioned patchwork beauty of Four Tet, and "Flower Power Submarine" carries you along on a warm summer breeze.

Importantly, dark is contrast with light throughout, so more sombre, melancholic drifts like "For Vangelis" sit next to the more uplifting violins and raindrop melodies of "Broken Machines". Overall a mature and hugely resonant album for grown-ups, Amazing Things is full of just that.

Candela Rising
03.05.2013

The next release on Candela Rising is a 3 track EP from Irish duo Dara Smith & Ian McDonnell, a.k.a Lakker. All topped off with a remix of the title track by US born and Birmingham based DJ Skirt.

After a string of extremely successful releases on Blueprint, Killekill and an early 2013 release in the shape of a remix for Stroboscopic Artefacts, Lakker are back and showing more range than ever before.

'Coal Bath' is a real Frankenstein's monster of a track, a Techno/Garage hybrid with haunting vocals hiding through the middle and broken beats that hit hard. Skirt's remix takes 'Coal Bath' and lays down some heavy demented bass, chops up the middle and grooves things up. All of which leaves a remix ready for the bunker or warehouse.

On the flip, 'Rsspstp' is a heavy hitter. Distorted bangs set the pace for this one, which evolves into a prime example of the attention to detail Lakker are so famed for. Machine music at its best.

The final track on the EP, 'Brood', is dark and dense, full of cold atmosphere, sub-low beats and distant, distorted drones. Techno for the darkest 'floors...

The Black Dog - Darkhaus Vol. 02

Living and working in Sheffield you can't help but notice that you are living beside some heavy industry, this was the very heartbeat of the city before Thatcher decided otherwise. Even now it's still paying the price for decisions made miles away. This is a stubborn place, it doesn't give up without a fight and its heart is still beating loud.People have said that the Darkhaus tracks are somewhere between Detroit and Chicago, for us it's just our own twisted thing. This is where we are and this is what we mean. We call it techno.

Nocturnal Emissions - Accumulator

We Can Elude Control presents Accumulator, a selection of rare and previously unreleased material from the archives of the pioneering sonic art & experimental electronics project Nocturnal Emissions. The 12' features Accumulator 1 & 2, two unreleased tracks from 1982 that demonstrates the group's early explorations into raw percussion and mechanical proto-techno. Alongside this is the early 80's recording So Darn Hot, a sparse diagram of low-slung industrial reduction available now for the first time on vinyl.
The 12' release also includes a free CDR featuring a crowd recording of Nocturnal Emissions live at the Brixton Ritzy on June 9th 1983. Recorded on Election Night, as Margaret Thatcher was catastrophically re-elected to power, the performance mixed live TV broadcasting of the election results with excerpts from the groups 16mm film The Foetal Grave of Progress. The recording takes place a stones throw from Atlantic Road, the site 2 years previously where the group performed in a railway arch during the height of the 1981 Brixton Riots.

Collectively the release reflects on this era of Nocturnal Emissions' output, a period that saw the group present work at both the ICA and Tate Britain whilst simultaneously performing alongside pioneering industrial bands such as Zoviet France and SPK. The recordings consider this legacy and the project's unique contribution to the areas of electronic dance music, experimental media and politically engaged art.

Chestplate
29.04.2013

District is back on the warpath for the Chestplate camp, delivering four of his fiercest constructions to date on the imprint's 26th
release. Following on from last year's colossal Painting The Mind/ Modulate 12", Dan has been hard at work the studio mutilating
reese synths, engineering dangerous basslines and building dub after dub in the mould of his impossibly dark and technical signature
sound. CHST026 sees vinyl release for a couple of his largest and most highly-anticipated beats, 'Transmission' on the A side with
'LV-223' providing raw firepower on the flip. Transmission's tightly looped vocal sample over the intro heralds the destructive force
about to drop, and when it does it's a lethal sub-sonic assault, with jagged snyths cutting through the midrange, drums that bang
with deafening precision and seismic-scale low frequencies. District switches up the rhythms on LV-223, opting for driving technoid
4x4 kick pressure and reined-back, subtle growls lurking beneath a sinister backdrop of ambience that paints a nightmarish, bass-
fuelled picture. If that wasn't already enough ammunition, Chestplate have packaged together a pair of digital bonus tracks available
via the Surus store, featuring the epic 'Kraken' which sounds like District's own twisted take on the Imperial March with cavernous
brass fanfares ringing out over deep, rolling subs, and the lowdown, minimal sounds of 'Antidote' to round-off the release.

Cari Lekebusch - Svett Ep

Sweat, also known as perspiration, transpiration or diaphoresis, is a product of mixing H2O with various solid chemicals such as chlorides and is mainly produced by glands located in the skin of mammals. It consists further of chemicals such as 2-methylphenol (o-cresol) and 4-methylphenol (p-cresol), as well as a small amount of urea. The sweat works as a thermoregulating mechanism, cooling the body from dangerous overheating, wich could result in body malfunction. It has also been reported that components inside the male perspiration would aslo work as a so called "chick-magnet". Sweat can be found in a wide variety of mammals, all though it is shown that only humans and horses produce large amounts of this chemical soup as a part of its cooling system and primarly by glands under the armpits.

Studies has shown that men start their perspiration faster than women when exercising under the same relative intensity. If this proves the theory that men use their sweat as a tool for luring women into their bedrooms is yet to be shown. Speaking against the theory, would be the fact that most sweaty men smells bad. When sweat occurs, the bacteria residing on the skin, feeds of the chemicals and as a biproduct, a smelly odor is produced. Keeping in mind that sweat also is produced during states of nervousness, it is implied that sweaty dancing men fearing an embarrasing defeat after a displaying their shortcommings as part of the mating rituals, still enjoys a better chance of intercourse if the target female is exposed to the sweat odor. No study showed if the same case stands true for homosexuals.

Samuel L Session: hard to pick a fav here, they are all good. bring it on!

Tony Rohr: Smutstvätt is slutty as fuck. It's like being at some tripped out carnival where all the booths are ran by the stuffed animals and you are trying to get that damn ring around the milk bottle so you can win a human. Me likey.

Patrick Bateman (Tic Tac Toe): Oh yeah, the Cari funk!... All 4 tracks got something special to them. Full support!

Vicky Montefusco: Lekebusch destructive as always...Slajdmedel my favourite !!!

Gustav Bagge: Mumma för öronen! Allihopa!

Samuli Kemppi: Toppen!

Butch: very cool

Dub Dummies: Wow we love this sound... high class release

SLAM: loving Cari's productions - loving these thanx

Sasha Carassi: Top realase, love them all!

Dustin Zahn: Svettiga Pattar and Slajdmedel for me. This is the kind of funk that only Cari can produce

Nima Khak: Svettigt! Amazing release! Cari func when it is at it's best! Will play and chart!

Nihad Tule: I like em all, even though I'd prefer a bit more of those cari lekebusch trademark old school dist and flanger on the master stuff. Smutstvätt is my pick here :) TJUUUU!

Tobias Von Hofsten: Svitt som fan! Bounce dat!

Patrick Siech (DCBNSOCTKNT): aah great tracks!!! and i've been waiting for a revival of the classic stockholm-techno-tracknames! slajdmedel must be one of the best titles ever :)

After the killer release by Marco Shuttle Vidd is back after a long silence with their 2nd release. A special release from somebody who has done a lot in a very short time: GW from Stockholm. Surrounded by mystery and simplicity, 'Hurry Up' demonstrates both power and heft with few elements. The driving force builds a tension which really doesn't reach a peak, something that the locked groove vocal manages to balance perfectly. The energy is constant and keeps things interesting. The B-side starts off with 'Runaway', a Chicago-resembling funk track that reflects the 90's tradition and the new digital age. 'Tonight' closes the doors of this release and the closing lights come on, it's time to go home.

For our third release, we are joining forces with bristol stalwart - Kowton - finding the link between two genres that are very close to our hearts - grime & techno. Built as an ode to ruff sqwad's 'raw 2 da core', Kowton is able to build up and take down the rough and rugged aesthetic that is found within both genres in just over 5 minutes.

On the flip, taking on the original is Blawan and Pariahs collaborative project - Karenn (SheWorksTheLongNights). Keeping true to the spirit of UK techno, they manage to translate the raw and grimey quality of the original through a heap of analogue gear, all in one take.

Feedback:

22.04.2013

Victor Watel a.k.a Panteros666 grew up in the cold and trashy North of France just like his Club Cheval brothers. He started doing music as a teenage drummer, played in various dance-punk outfits in the late 00's and soon developed a personal, enhanced sound environment. He's also been continuously fed by many other kinds of digital commodities : YouTube vids, gifs and jpgs found through extended scrolling sessions on self-generated pics websites. He eventually got rid of his drumset, and started his techno crusade in 2011.
HisfirstEP,"Kegstand",releasedbySoundPellegrino,wasatruemutationineffect-soundstakenfrom the Dutch jumpstyle songbook locked inside a funky techno frame. The main intention is basicallyto produce tracks that can both entertain your mind and talk to your body : dancefloor ammunition with a twisted, meta angle, working like comments on what's generally thought about club music. His material sounds physical and nervous, but also offers much to (joyfully) think about. Then followed "Javelin" EP released on Belgian label Forma.T, his contribution to Benelux born warehouse techno.

Also working in the realms of TV communication and advertising by day like some sort of animated gif era Don Draper, Panteros666 has directed all his ".Mov", and offered his extended video imagination to other artists : Para One - You, The Aikiu - Pieces of Gold with its million views... or being a DJ- explorer for Vice Magazine "Guide to Festivals". He teamed up with "The Creators Project" to develop the interactive engineering behind his live show.

His first mini LP "Hyper Reality" + Live show, to be released on Brodinski and Manu Barron label Bromance, unites both Panteros666's obsessions with technologies and music. Using Xbox kinects and digital technologies live to visually enrich his mutant techno and interact with club audiences.

Daniel Stefanik - Confidence (gatefold Double Vinyl) 2x12" + Cd

Daniel Stefanik is one of THE Techno and House newcomers of the last years. His carefreeness as a DJ behind the decks and his likeable appearance are literally distinctive for a new generation of young, down-to-earth producers from Germany, which are the result of the influence of Väth, Villalobos and Hawtin on the one side, and solid but hedonistic House on the other. Whereas many producers nowadays have dedicated themselves to only one musical direction, the influence of Kerri Chandler, Chez Damier or Kevin Saunderson is clearly noticeable in Stefanik's music. His longplay debut for Cocoon Recordings is a mirror of all these influences and yet it's so up-to-date and contemporary like only few other Techno and House albums today.

18.04.2013

Having unleashed his debut LP on Bosconi Records last year, Italian Herva here serves up four new tracks for the second in Delsin's electronica series. They see him move away from the house of his debut, and instead explore atmospheric worlds of sound that are part techno, part IDM and part something all together new.
Opener 'Paranoid Thinking' emerges from a sea of underwater bleeps and bells into a frantic, heavily textured soundscape with no real beat but many layers of glistening, harmonic sound. 'Crocodile Tears' is slight more conventional, but still seems constructed from snippets of pianos, finger clicks, squelchy percussion and more, with each element piled on top of each other into a beguiling tapestry.

'Gorilla's Machine' sounds like Four Tet making techno - lots of splintered melodies bring plenty of light to the quick, dark and pummelling techno undercurrent that props the whole thing up. Finally, 'Snow And Clouds' sees a stiff kick drum lean into a snowy blizzard of fine grain sonics with the odd spoken word breaking through at freaky intervals. One thing's for sure here - there is nothing conventional about Herva's techno.

18.04.2013

Following on from his increasingly essential work as Innerspace Halflife, Ike Release steps out on his own for a new three tracker on MOS Deep that finds the Chicago producer in a bullish mood.
Opener 'Cosmic Supreme' is a moody march across the surface of a planet far from here - typically raw, bobbling drums set the tone as a frazzled and drawn out synth line winds right through its core from start to finish. 'Spells' is backlit with an ethereal synthy glow as another thick analogue line takes the main focus of the track, all the while as nebulous percussion floats about like a cloud of dust in the background.

Finally, 'Westview' is a little more propulsive, driven as it is by a lashing, rubberised bassline that sprays about freely, contained only by the itchy and more regimented hi-hats that slice up and down around it. Despite there being a sonic denseness to all three tracks here, a certain emotional gravitas always lurks with in: be it one of introspection or reflection, they are difficult to ignore.

Their new ep by Shadow Moses is maybe a style breaker leaning more towards a techno vibe with Detroit roots, spanning the years between Basic Channel and Modern Love. But still in the usual quality, which means solid releases aiming on the special moments on the dancefloor and not on the charts! Shadow Moses's most recent 2-tracker boasts textures befitting early springtime's emotional relief: tonal warmth permeates cold, floating atmospherics, while chugging drum tracks warm up bodies...and speaker stacks. Sleeparchive - A Man Dies In The Street Part 1

*After spending five years stealthy developing the project through a series of bi-annual and hand- stamped set of releases, eked via his eponymous imprint, in 2011 Sleeparchive joined Tresor with 'Ronan Point'—an EP of tracks constructed directly from material from Semsroth's live set. Now comes more fresh works from the master of haunting, compelling minimalism in this first instalment of a two-part EP for the label.
*Taking its title from one of Brassaï's famous sequence of prints, 'A Man Dies In The Street Pt.1' translates the eight snapshots of a man collapsing on a Parisian sidewalk (captured by Brassaï in 1932) into a chilling storyboard of subtle fluctuations, ebbs and monochrome tones. As ever the genius is in the reductive palette, that here Semsroth paints into a rich splay of emotions mimicking the initial anxious discovery of the body, the curiosity of the gathering crowd, the excitement and building anticipation through to an aggressive and pummelling sense of realisation on the close. But is it at the loss of life, or the loss of spectacle As Brassaï toys with ambiguity in his photographs, Sleeparchive's music is just as hazy, deep and full of shady nuances that, like treasure, only appear if you're willing to keep probing.

Terrence Dixon - From The Far Future Pt.2 2x12"

Twelve years ago Tresor Records released Terrence Dixon's debut album 'From The Far Future' - a personal homage to the art and ancestry of techno, culminating in a discursive and dream-like course through the genre's many tomes, complete with subtle nods to key protagonists such as Kraftwerk, Derrick May and Juan Atkins. A luminescent and ethereal catalogue of tracks awash with shimmery synths and taught rhythmical programming - that still holds true today, 'From The Far Future' made for a stunning first full length that cemented Dixon's already proven credentials from his Population One work and Utensil Records foundations.
*After a string of stylistically rich releases - including another album, 'Train Of Thought', this time for Cologne-based label Yore Records - the Detroit native returns to Tresor Records with 'From The Far Future Pt.2' - an ambitious, scopey and deeply personal sequel.

The Sun God - The Spirits Have Spoken

Chicago legend Jamal Moss makes a return to Sequencias with two tracks of overdriven angularity in his most jacking incarnation, The Sun God. If you know Jamal, then you're aware that no other artist has informed electronic rhythm-based music quite like he has. The current crop of raw, low-fi house and techno owes a large share of it's existence to his releases under various monikers: Hieroglyphic Being, IBM, and as one half of Africans With Mainframes. These latest transmissions for Sequencias show Moss at his most avant-garde, so gird your self before you drop that needle.

A side "Spoken By The Spirit" works a thicket of hi hats and snares around an incessant clav in one of Moss's signature persuasive work outs. A smudged kick and sparkling lead synth pushes the track steadily along with a syncopated dialogue going on in the background.

AA side "4 This Is Your Salvation" seems to run in the opposite direction of the A side—the tangle of stuttering, overheated circuits now being sucked into a vortex with an uneasy momentum. Almost everything about this track seems somehow reluctant—like Moss had to struggle with some powerful entity for control of his instruments. A low acidic bass stab, squealing digital improvisation, a confused thud of a kick drum, a tambourine—all on their way to the frightening and wonderful Unknown.

Every place, in which the human being lives, imposes you to choose. We are continually bombed by voices that try to check us and more our mind digs in the depth of own heart, more we hear the necessity to go over the barriers that are built. This way we are and so we will stay. We walk in a crowd of voices and we are continually looking for a something that can maintain us hungry and rebellious against our bossy Ego.The instinct sometimes helps us and brings out. Human beings and the emotions belong to ourselves. We sometimes need the silence to really understand what we want and in which we obviously believe. Imagine you, as in a metaphor of the life, to find you in front of the choice among two doors: one left half open and the other wide open. From the left half open one a thread of light that emanates safety goes out, essential element for the human being. That wide open is dark, it transmits insecurity and not for this it arouses less curiosity. The curious man is the man of the myth of the cavern of Plato; man that puts in danger his own certainties to follow his own instinct and to seek that element new main point for his mental growth. This man will always choose the dark room and what he will find inside, it will always be distinguished according to the emotional state in which is found. The EP of Dubit and Scalameriya contains this meaning, music as metaphor of the life contained in the antithesis between safety and curiosity.Words by Lorenzo Salmi

The label's inaugural release comes in the form of 3 tracks from Point Break, the DJ collaboration between the New York label head Arthur Kimskii and Cory James. The A side Sidewalks is a dance floor workout that has subtle and not so subtle nods to the Detroit sound. On the B side you have Wendes and Late for Lunch. On the B Side we have Wednes; a kick heavy crunchy techno tool followed by Late for Lunch, a steady building percussive, textural composition.

One Eyed Jacks
11.04.2013

One Eyed Jacks is back with another debut release, and like the previous 12" on the label, RoundHouse Kick come from the south of Portugal aswell - Portimão this time.

RoundHouse Kick are actually a couple, and one with unusual couple fixations at that. They're constantly buying, experimenting and selling synths, drum machines and records but fortunately their passion actually translates into more than just an impressive collection - we simply fell in love with "ARM1X" at 1st listen. They also have a kick-ass live act that quickly put their name on the lips of pretty much every discerning electronic music fan from Lisbon with just a handful of gigs, including two floor smashing, hardware-based live sets on two of our label nights.

These tracks got enthusiastic, early support from Jackmaster, Phillip Sherburne, Dan Avery and other relevant dance music players of the now, and have been gathering some of the biggest fan reaction and radio play since we started the label, focusing on a no-gimmick approach to production, combining analogue and digital in search of an honest, evocative sound, inspired in equal parts by the increasingly documented traditions of Detroit and Chicago and the formative early years of a naive and emotional portuguese rave scene.

For the remix we've invited the excellent Auntie Flo, delivering 2 remixes instead of one - Remix and Dub mix - in the fine dance music tradition of adapting the remix to various djs and dancefloor moments.

Artwork is again by our favourite Lisbon visual artist Márcio Matos."

Blueprint
26.10.2012

Following on from their 'Arc EP' released in April, Lakker return to Blueprint with 'Torann EP' featuring five new cuts from this Dublin based duo.

Dara Smith and Ian McDonnell (aka Eomac) formed Lakker back in 2001, with early tracks appearing on compilations for various labels, alongside a number of EPs, followed by their debut album 'Ruido' on Lazybird in 2007, plus more recent excursions on the likes of Killekill and Love Love Records.

With influences ranging from breakcore and jungle to techno and electronica, their sound is just as far-reaching with
organic sample-based productions and synthetic, processed electronic beats.

Lakker's 'Torann EP', their second release for Blueprint, kick-starts with the dappling beats of 'Summer Rains', before
moving onto the more experimental 'Mustard Crying'. 'Ciar' takes us back to the dancefloor with ominous undertones, while 'Static & Amp'
is a simple but effective exercise. Finally the diminutive but meticulous 'One Note' caps the EP off in fine Lakker style.

accused of conformism" DJ Mag UK

Miles - Faint Hearted

Miles

Faint Hearted

12inchLOVE81LP
Modern Love
10.04.2013

Miles has been releasing material on Modern Love for a decade, first as one half of Pendle Coven, then on his own as MLZ, and eventually pairing up with Sean Canty to record as Demdike Stare. In between he's also pursued more experimental terrain under the Suum Cuique moniker, produced Jungle for the HATE project and (together with Andy Stott) taken on the occasional release as Millie & Andrea for Modern Love sublabel Daphne. He is also an admired, exhilarating DJ, his sets have been known to span a broad spectrum of electronic music, from the obscure UK techno of labels like Radioactive Lamb and Irdial, to classic Chicago House, Detroit Techno and - most importantly - early 90's jungle and breakbeat, feeding into his love of the most uncompromising end of the Italian experimental movement, Musique Concrète, Synthwave and contemporary Noise. After more than 10 years of producing, "Faint Hearted" is his debut solo album. 'Faint Hearted' is an exposition of Miles' love of electronic music in all its shapes, harnessing his fidgety production style into one expansive, restless set of tracks. The album opens with the filtered and looped Jungle mutation of 'Lebensform', through to the minimal, barely-noticeable bass-shifts of 'Irreligious', the classic Plastikman-infused looped ruffage of 'Status Narcissism' and the padded bliss of "Sense Data", coming across like a lost Move D production from the classic Studio Pankow era. The second half opens with 'Rejoice', a slowly-unfurling 4/4 variant that sounds like a more technofied and electric take on his work with Demdike Stare, while "Archaic Thought Pattern 1" invades a sequence of strings and bass notes with blasts of white noise, sounding like something off Aphex Twin's 'Donkey Rhubarb' EP rebuilt by Mika Vainio. The set ends with the evocative field- recorded sequence 'Queuing' and the ambient futurism of 'Loran Dreams', in some respects the straightest, most affecting 9 minute stretch yet from a producer who is seemingly unable to settle or stand still.

500 COPIES - NO REPRESS - NO DIGITAL RELEASE!
"Redpanda is a new vinyl-only label from Moscow run by Roustam (All Inn, Gipsy). Its main focus is in featuring great forward thinking artists that are creating the music of tomorrow and releasing it on wax with the highest standards of quality!

The first release comes from the Romanian wunderkids Phrasis Veteris with The Nocturn Ep and what a treat it is. A lot of has been said about the amazing Romanian scene recently — some say it's full of hype, others think it saved dance music. We're going to refrain from making any judgments and want to just let the music speak for itself, because in the end that's what really matters!

The A-side kicks off with Drumtalk — a funky, syncopated upbeat number. This is a great percussive jam already supported with the like of Onur Ozer, Raresh. It's followed by the title track Nocturn, which gives atmosphere and feeling to the entire release.

The flipside features Sundaymoon a deep and introspective cut for your mind, body and soul, as they say. Soulspeak rounds off the release on a more positive note with bright interludes and a tight groove. This release is perfect for the spring time and gives us hope for a better tomorrow with good music. Full support from Petre Inspirescu, Valentino Kanzyani, Livio & Roby and many others. Enjoy!"

Project 24 - No More Ep

Project 24

No More Ep

exclPMP004 + STICKER
Playmusic-Productions
31.01.2013

The fourth release of the Hamburg-based Label PMP (Playmusic Productions) will be given from
Project 24 - since October 2009 this pseudonym stands for the DJ's and producers Joscha Grunewald and Maxim K. Both of them are from Detmold in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Their studio is based in their hometown, established in Hangar 24, a former building of the British armed forces. Hence the number 24 in the project's name reflects its connection to this building. On the a-side of their 'No More EP' you will find a great crossover track called 'The Difference', which combines techno and songwriting in a really worthy way. In the break this beast evolves into something you would never think of when you put that track on. Goosebumps.
The other track on the a-side is called Aurora. The dramatic string sounds define the mood for the break, then a few synths fade in, and in the break the track has reached its peak, emotions are really strong, then the bass carries the groove again and the track gets danceable again. Definitely a real gem of melodic techno.
On the b-side you can find the title track 'No More', which is quite a difference to the a-side, but you still know that it's Project 24, their remarkable atmosphere work really makes this track deep again, even though the drums are some kind of disco-influenced. Again some lovely vocals by Joscha Grunewald with a slight pop-appeal define the break of the record, a beautiful slide guitar captures the feeling of the track and then a modulated bass comes in, and it starts to mesmerize you..
Then the release gets rounded up with a remix by the dutch producer Rob Hes, who has already released on labels like Sounds Of Earth and Repressure Recordings, and he will also have his debut on Gabriel Ananda's Basmati imprint soon. His remix is a real monster combining the atmosphere of the original track and some beautifully morphed sounds, that are taking the remix to another galaxy.
All in all, a really impressive release by two guys who have unbelievable talent. Keep at least one eye on them..

I would probably drop "Aurora (Rob Hes Remix)" in an early morning set.

Hell, maybe I'm full of shit and I'd drop any of them. "No More" is seriously a fantastic piece of music. Echoes of 80s alternative in that delayed slide guitar. If nothing else, this is going on my iPod. Who knows. An early morning may tempt me to play this one yet. ;)"

Various - Paris Club Music - Volume 1 2x12

Paris is back and it's no longer pumping to the filtered sound of disco house. Instead, a '90s generation have come of age born into the monochromatic shadow of Mathieu Kassovitz's classic film, La Haine. A world of internal tensions cracking the ground for new shoots to appear from a vibrant street culture that's en Seine in the membrane, raised as much on global bass and hip- hop's freakiest mutations as the distant orbit of Chicago and Detroit.
You can hear it in the music of ClekClekBoom, the Paris-based label which began in 2007 as a website releasing baile funk from Rio's favelas but now serves up its own home-grown ghetto grooves. Built around a core of twenty-something DJs and producers, spearheaded by French Fries (who runs the label alongside Ministre X and The Boo), their youthful energy has forged boundary breaking ambitions. And as ClekClekBoom Recordings reaches its first birthday at the start of 2013, its dedication to quality and longevity is evident in a commitment to vinyl, alongside digital, releases, a box fresh aesthetic courtesy of artistic director The Boo, their fortnightly Boomcast show, attracting....

Stormfield - Collapsing System Ep

The logo of London-based electronic label Combat Recordings is a fearsome, ancient demon warrior mask. As metaphors go it tells you everything you need to know about the Combat ethos. Battlefield-disciplined and sombre, a fundamental dark force of nature courses through every release, on a label which defiantly straddles the unstable no-man's land between electro, industrial and bass-driven electronics, and whose releases are championed by the likes of Surgeon, Rob Hall, Mary Anne Hobbs and Rob Booth. The 'Collapsing System' EP is the latest salvo from the uncompromising imprint, with label head Stormfield's original productions. Though the tracks come in several different styles and tempos, the unifying theme for this release is acid, acid and more acid. 'Rebuild' is a 140bpm dark electro beast of broken machine rhythms and huge bassdrums underpinning the dramatic sci fi drones and edgy paranoid strings. Multiple 303 patterns chatter in a 4 way conversation, as the acid structure builds, changes form and builds itself again over a melting 8 minutes. 'Collapsing System' goes in a cinematic direction instead, conjuring imagery of gigantic structures slowly exploding and crumbling undersea, dense reverbs and echoes resounding in three dimensional space. The tracks get the remix treatment from a some new allies to the clan. Current UK electro scene favourite Defekt has won favour with Rob Booth (Electronic Explorations) and Dave Clarke for his warm, analogue electro and turns 'Rebuild' into a minimalist, bass-heavy dance floor track driven by throbbing, pulsing drum machines and technoid bleeps. London-based, Bulgarian-born producer Errorbeauty reworks the tranquility of 'Collapsing System' into relentless apocalyptic acid, brutal electro designed for lights-out basement style carnage, yet infused with playful bleeps of melodic detail between the jagged rhythms. Nonima, one of Scotland's most underrated electronic producers turns in a fierce, technical workout of a track, in the form of a syncopated techno remix reminiscent of some of Surgeon's early dance floor works. This is an EP that wears its rebellious streak on it's sleeve. But don't think this is anti-dance music. Scaring your audience and moving them are not mutually exclusive. This is music for dystopian dance floors. There will be a special Combat acid set on Electronic Explorations in March to promote the release, which in it's vinyl version is limited to just 200 copies worldwide.

French Fries - Everything / White Screen / D'angelo

Off the back of his second club-shaking EP for CVS's DirtyBird imprint, Paris' ghetto mastermind producer is back for his 3rd outing
on his own label ClekClekBoom. After dropping their inaugural release, the stellar 'Champagne/Hugz (ft. Bambounou)', at the end of
2011 it seems fitting that French Fries return to kick-off 2013 with the label's 9th release.
A-side 'Everything' brings together flanged percussion, vast, atmospheric strings and a stumbling Detroit acid bass used in as a
Pulse. The first B-side, 'White Screen' is a Chicago style 909 jam complete with rapid-fire hats and techno stabs driven by piercing
claps laden with old-school 80s-era reverb. The final tune, 'D'Angelo', sees French Fries slow the tempo and bring together rippling
atmospherics, a 'Yo Vogue' style bassline and washed-out synths for this Detroit-inspired, double B-side homage to The Wire's
D'Angelo Barksdale... Let the boy be.
The use of bold, futuristic effects and percussive subtleties combined with an astute aptitude for clarity and fullness of sound makes
for yet another destructive French Fries and ClekClekBoom EP. This shrewd blend of experimentalism and dancefloor bass-weight
means CCB009 is likely to turn up in a wide range of record bags.

Samuli Kemppi - Voyager

Samuli Kemppi

Voyager

12inchEVENT004
Chronicle
05.04.2013

With a techno career stretching nearly a decade, Finland's Samuli Kemppi is a natural choice for the fourth edition of THEMA's continuing Chronicle series. His intensely rhythmic, futuristic style has been making its mark across Europe since 2004, but it was really four years later, when he was picked up by Ostgut Ton, Prologue, and Kosmisch, that the world found out the true impact of his sound. Since then he's enjoyed his strongest support from the last of these imprints and, even more importantly, from Luke Slater's powerhouse Mote-Evolver, a go-to since its inception in 2006 for the freshest sounds techno has to offer. Following the summer launch of his own Deep Space Helsinki label, we are proud to announce Kemppi's Chronicle debut with Voyager, an EP of deep, science fiction sounds backed by intense beats.

Characteristically for the producer, there's no waiting to unleash the barrage of elastic basslines and layered percussion we receive in Transmission. The steadily-thickening synthesizer textures grow throughout its length, but so does the density of the drum patterning; it makes for an unstoppable catapult launch into alien territory to start the EP. A2 Horizon is more grim and heads-down, an exploration of the cosmic void between galaxies which gradually falls into accelerating orbit around a distant body. B1's Beacon may move similarly, but it starts with a clearer trajectory and a more hopeful end point in keeping with its title. His signature busy drum machines are at their most linear and smooth here, and rather than disorient the listener they provide propulsion for the mission. The unforgiving rhythmic jack of Echoes has strong gravity, and an optimistic melody gradually swells from uneasier beginnings to finish the voyage.

To ease down listeners from the depths of this dense EP, we've included an ambient interlude as the closer; starting off with sci-fi themes, it disintegrates into a haze of woozy echoes and rhythmic bursts of static before simply fading into the ether. Taken together, these five pieces clearly chart the continuing outbound path of Chronicle and Kemppi to the interstellar regions of techno's growing universe.

First up is Question Authority, a stripped down, somewhat dark techno affair for throbbing dancefloors where people lose their minds over infectious rhythms and punishing stabs. Next comes Paul Mac's remix of Lost Conversation, which pretty much continues in the same dark warehouse vein. The beats jack unrelentlessly, the bass grabs you by the synapses and the dark strings brings out the emotion. On the flipside, the original mix of Lost Conversation grooves on with basic mental chord works and a deep rolling sine bassline to get you hooked. The ep closes the dance with a deep, emotional work out called Rudimentary, clearly influenced by those deep Motorcity tracks. From dark warehouses to melancholic emotional techno, Franco Cangelli gets back on track.
Peter Van Hoesen (Time 2 Express) - "Great release. I like the first four tracks a lot, will definitely play these.
Forward Strategy Group (Perc Trax) - "Liking all 4 tracks, will deffo play a1 and a2 out."
Eric Cloutier (Bunker) - great sounding ep! both of the b-side cuts are doing it for me, especially "rudimentary." solid groover there, will probably play it tonight at bunker.
Samuli Kemppi (Deep Space Helsinki) - " Really like it. Specially Question Authority and Lost Conversation. Will play on gigs and radio."
Sunil Sharpe - "Great work again, and well done on all the Mowar releases! A-side tracks for me here, thanks"
Mosca (BBC Radio 1) - "Question Authority and Lost Conversation are both great. Full support and thanks from LDN!"

Makam / Roch Dadier & Pacou - Lost Archives Ii

The second EP our in our new 'lost Archives' series stands out in it's clear dancefloor direction and it's recognizable oldschool feel. Again and as usual in this series, expect some special cuts. Limited to 377 copies, no repress.

A1: On the A side Makam brings in a typical oldschool techno track which resemblances a mixture between old Jeff Mills material and Robert hood's Floorplan output. Initially it was ment for Makam's liveset only, luckily now it gets a full vinyl release.

B1: The title of the B track simply points out its purpose. Roch and Pacou were resident DJ's at Tresor, when they recorded this track for Roch Dadier´s Label Portrait in 2002. However, short afterwards it was recorded, Roch stopped his label, so this gem never saw the light of day. Pacou and Roch Dadier show us that tribalistic techno is still actual these days with this rhythmic piece of music.

Rainer Weichhold & Namito Pres - Speicher 74

2

Starting out in 2001 as a mere compilation series to tie up some loose ends from our regulars, SPEICHER has since become a guarantee for vanguard dance sounds from all over the planet, allowing KOMPAKT to invite and support electronic artists that comfortably inhabit both the delicate and the more deliberate ends of the electronic music spectrum. For SPEICHER 74, best buddies RAINER WEICHHOLD and NAMITO unite under new monicker HICK HACK to bring you two utterly compelling cuts sure to beef up even the most demanding DJ set.

It's certainly not the first time that RAINER WEICHHOLD of Kling Klong fame and well-established groove connaisseur NAMITO collaborate on high-grade floor weaponry, but there's a strong argument to be made for HICK HACK being their finest work to date. You'll find all the audiophile finesse and spirited deepness you come to expect from the two producers, embedded in two exuberant tracks already pawing the ground in anticipation of their deployment.

Played by Pan Pot, Guy Gerber, Santé, Catz n Dogz, Kiki, Green Velvet, Super Flu, Andhim, Carlo Lio, Round Table Knights, Animal Trainer, Pirupa, Kaiserdisco, Tube & Berger...

Simian Mobile Disco - Live

1

SMD's new album, simply entitled "Live" presents a document of their world-renown, visceral live show. The recording here comes from Making Time in Philadelphia, from December 2012, A single, un-edited take, the live set features material from their entire back catalogue - including the massive "Put Your Hands Together", "Cerulean" and "Seraphm" from Unpatterns, "Skin Cracker" and "Aspic" from Delicacies, and brand new, updated for 2012 versions of "Wooden" and "Hustler" from their debut LP. The older tracks have gone through a considerable metamorphosis, and in some cases the only original parts that remain are the vocal samples. For those who have seen the live show, the round table and James and Jas occasionally manic runs around it, tweaking knobs to coax ever more warped sounds from their modular synth, this record captures some of that for posterity.

Hans Bouffmyhre, Par Grindvik - Stress Control Ep

Sleaze Records label boss Hans Bouffmyhre returns with his next big project! Hans has been on top form this year with his debut 'Hypnosis EP' on Electric Deluxe, the launch of his new alias 'Secluded' and his latest 'Pressure EP' on Alan Fitzpatrick's 8 Sided Dice Recordings. Stress Control & Droning are two dark, sinister tracks for the dancefloor, characterised by chord stabs and infectious bleeps, creating a hypnotic techno vibe.
For this special release we have invited two of our biggest inspirations for remix duties. Firstly, we have Swedish techno producer Par Grindvik, who we first met in 2007 when we booked him to play at our Sleaze night in Glasgow. Finally, legendary Glasgow duo Slam, who have been a solid inspiration for us over the years with their regular DJ sets at the Arches! Both remixes have great power and groove to keep the party going!

Phil Kieran Feat. Bush Tetras - Snakes Crawl

This project started off as a bootleg (under the name Burglar Tom) released by Phil Kieran back in 2007. Back then he was just putting out a tune he really wanted out there, cutting through the red tape. But as occasionally happens this one was too good to have such a limited release. Picked up and played by many top djs, it eventually found it's way to the ears of Bush Tetras' vocalist Cynthia Sley, via the good people at Optimo in Glasgow. She loved it. They put her in touch with Phil, and the result is this official release.
There are four tracks here, all instant dancefloor favourites. From Phil we get that original bootleg track, the appropriately names PK east village mix, with its nod to the New York scene Bush Tetras were so influential in, this is the track that will find favour on the playlist of the discerning indie disco as well as the techno scene. There's a a new PK techno mix, and new mixes by two of the biggest names in techno: DJ Hell and Dave Clarke (here with Mr Jones under their 'Unsubscribe' alias). With the PK techno mix Phil takes the tune into familiar territory with the driving percussive techno he's so rightly lauded for.
DJ Hell, well versed in post punk having worked with the legendary electro pioneers Suicide, gives us a darker spacious electro rebuild of Phil's original track, complete with analogue sounds and some neat twists and drops along the way. The Unsubscribe mix fits it out for the big room, with the new synth riff and repetitive use of Cynthia's 'ding a ling' vocal taking us into 21st century rave territory.

Sweden's Bleak is fast becoming an essential part of his country's techno new school. Through releases on Deeply Rooted House, Sudden Drop and Traut he has emerged as a producer of funky, loopy techno a la countrymen Skudge. Here he debuts on Delsin with a fierce two tracker, Origins of Chaos. The first track 'Sixteen Crude' is a cantering techno cut with searing, warbling synths racing along above lazier, underlapping kicks. It's a nice contrast that gives the acidic track plenty of depth, before the flipside, 'Subject Target' deals in more convoluted, whip-snap lines that thrash about like cables in a storm. Industrial yet human, it's timeless techno that wraps you up in its midst and never lets you go.

Exillon - Mind Techno Control Ep

Frigio happily announces a new release by San Francisco based artist Exillon who is well known for his amazing works for Detroit Underground among other labels.

In 'Mind Techno Control EP', Exillon (aka Jay Fields) drops us 3 energetic and overwhelming tracks. On side A we have an incredible 10 minute long acid techno killer that for sure will burn dancefloors. You can hear all the analogue gear frequencies bouncing in your bones.

On B side, the 2 tracks keep the same forcefulness and get closer to an IDM drum structure that maintain the groove but out of the straight 4x4 beat. By using deeper melodies and mixing different styles, the result is very rich in textures and makes the sound exotic.

Lucy & Silent Servant - History Survivors

The History Survivors EP is a fierce collaboration between two of electronic music's most intriguing producers, Lucy & Silent Servant.

Entering the production process together Luca Mortellaro and Juan Mendez delved into a period of studio based research. On the trail of a hybrid sound they rendered their questions with both digital and analogue machines, synthesising their suspicions into existence and layering sounds until they took on unmistakeable form. Two tracks emerged and Mote-Evolver has pressed these dark tales onto each side of the Mote034 vinyl.

A-side Dormancy Survivors begins with a metallic rasp and opens out into a euphoric state. It's as if a story that was long repressed is finally being retold. And this story is told in syncopated sentences that are punctuated with slanted snares. Odd bleeps rotate around the weight of the bass-line and strange atmospherics catch you brilliantly unawares. This is an industrial-strength peak-time track.

Victors History is expansive and hypnotic. Pulling you into its loops the track is littered with glimmering asides. Low frequencies tug at the undercarriage and heighten the damage that the bass is committing. If the A-side tells the tale that history neglects, the B-side asks you to question the narratives weaved by the winners.

Mote034 combines the expertise of two producers at the top of their games. Silent Servant's expert handling of noise and distortion and Lucy's ability to create narratives where you least expect them form a startling hybrid. History Survivors is an EP that will move your feet, your thoughts and most importantly your expectations.

Zenker Brothers - Lion In Mars

Lion In Mars

12.03.2013

Techno was inevitable for the Zenker Brothers. Eldest brother Dario cottoned on first,
using his family ties to Munich's infamous Ultraschall club to edge into the DJ booth as an enthusiastic teen. Following its demise he migrated to Harry Klein with the rest of the Ultraschall crew, picking up a residency in 2006 that has only just been brought to a close. It was at this stage
Marco received his own electronic awakening. Inspired by a set of his brother's at the very same
institution, he joined Dario there a year later. Production-wise, however, the brothers continued to
pursue separate paths: Dario sewing an assortment of seeds and racking up a wayfaring collec-
tion of records for labels like Frozen Border, Vakant, Time To Express and Traut Muzik. Meanwhile
Marco was cultivating deep and dreamy techno on the Zenkers' own Ilian Tape stable.
After years of playing and working together side by side, in 2011 they emerged in official
collaboration as Zenker Brothers with 'Berg 10 EP'. Now, the Zenker Brothers are back with their
first release for Tresor, brandishing a matured sound and level of sensitivity yet displayed by either
before. 'Lion In Mars' is like a fresh breeze billowing through the Tresor vaults. Honing in on signa-
tures from the archive and repackaging them in modern sentiment, here Zenker Brothers deliver
a record that gleans through the generations to deliver a cunning symbiosis of techno future, past
and present. On the A-side 'Knighthof' and 'The Future Is You' offer driving vintage basement
techno with a Zenker twist, whilst B-side tracks 'Davin' and 'Cosmilian', the EP's clattering
dystopic closer, blend Detroit tones together with their respective Ilian-proven pallets.

Low Jack & Qoso - Like It Soft

Low Jack and Qoso are two of the most exciting french talents of techno teaming up for an EP of mad club weapons, full of adrenaline rushes and dirty tricks.
A fresh idea on what « industrial » might mean applied to house.
After his remix for BD1982 (raising Levon Vincent comparaisons on Resident Advisor!), Qoso has been polishing his style and here is the first step of a series of new Eps coming up in the next months. Brandy' is right in the middle of the contemporary techno and bass sounds, full of tension, restless breaks and shuffling drums, destined for these moments when everyone's craving to break free from the techno Autobahn.
After the Geeeman remixed techno-funk of 'Slow Dance' on Get The Curse, and the raw bangers of the 'Free Pyjamas EP' on the Delsin house series, Low Jack is one of the most watched new producers on the scene. 'Hats & Cash' featured here is his most intense club track so far, a slow but pretty intense burner bringing the grease of the factory and the stress of the casino into the club.
When the two guys get together in a home-studio with two days to make a track, they turn up with 'Like It Soft', a techno tool with a radical basement feel and a screwed down vocal loop going on and on until your brain crash. The 'etched mix' can be easily described as the same only faster and even more fucked up. Fans of the forward-thinking techno by Syncom Data or Seldom Felt can't miss this one.
