Back to the vinyl rules, Spectral Rebel is proud to present its collaboration with the Dutch duo Abstract Division, featuring two originals and two remixes by Mike Storm and Re:Axis.
The good architecture of "Convergent" opens the EP with a slow but strong climax, hypnotic rhythms and ambient sounds create an elegant atmosphere, surrounded by a resonant voice.
"Divergent" shows a deeper concept of techno: the emotional melody keeps the track into a new landscape, merging with a heavy basslines.
Mike Storm is a familiar name to the label. His remix reshapes the original track "Convergent" and takes us into an interstellar trip through the cosmos. The atmosphere is intense.
Re:Axis version of "Divergent" is a high-energy piece and it's definitely the powerful techno punch of this EP. Classic drum sounds combine with vibrating kicks and some loopy cuts.
SPR007 is an ecstasy for ears and a proper bang for dancefloors.

The Spinning Plates imprint returns this October with Club Winston’s ‘Guzzle’ EP, comprised of four gritty club workouts from the London artist.
The UK’s Club Winston has been steadily unveiling a series of tripped-out club ready cuts via his own UKGEORGE label over the past few years along with remixes from the likes of D.Tiffany and Tim Reaper. Here though we see him join the roster of Spinning Plates with his latest collection of works, an imprint that’s played host to material from the likes of SHKN, Neksha, Andy Rantzen, DJ Spider and Bruno Schmidt since its inception in 2015.
Title-track ‘Guzzle’ leads, laid out across five minutes with a menacing arpeggio bass lead, howling atmospherics and crunchy analogue drums. ‘Hell’ follows and tips the focus over to heavy doses of sub bass, intricately dynamic, modulating drums and intense swells of processed synths throughout.
Opening the flip-side is ‘Chart’, upping the energy levels with a pacey 4/4 drum groove while twitchy resonant synth lines, low-end pulsations and cavernous reverberations ebb and flow throughout. ‘Partook’ then rounds out the release, a cinematic ambient composition which lays focus on swirling, textural pads, glitched out resonant bleeps and fluttering low end hits.

“This record is dedicated to my good friend Mike Huckaby. He planned on remixing "Incineration of Years and Truth" back when I originally made it in 2011, but we never got around to actually making that happen. I'm also honored to have my other close friend Phil Moffa on remix duties. There were many sessions in Phil's studio (Butcha Sound Studio, NYC) where we used to jam with Mike whenever he would come to New York to DJ or hang out. We used to play with synthesizers for hours. We were all good friends and it was perfect to have Phil on this record as
well! Mike taught and inspired us to have fun with making music and push ourselves to be the best that we can be. We will love him forever.”
Rob Hampton, better known to most as DJ Spider, has been releasing his twisted take on Techno and experimental
electronica for over a decade on the likes of The Trilogy Tapes, REKIDS, Vanguard Sound! and Berceuse Heroique as well as his and Dakini’s own Plan B Recordings and its sub labels BTU and Sublevel Sounds. Here he joins the roster of Spinning Plates, the London-based label that’s established itself as a go to purveyor for leftfield leaning Techno, Electro and more.
Title-cut ‘Hyperspace Wardance’ leads and employs DJ Spider’s typically dynamic, brooding and robust style via clattering percussion, eerie pads, murky bass stabs and tension building atmospherics. Phil Moffa’s take on ‘Hyperspace Wardance’ follows, adding a lighter touch to things, bringing the pads to the forefront alongside a shuffled drum groove, snaking bass line and resonant synth licks.
Opening the flip-side is ‘Space Aggressor Squadron’, a six minute workout fuelled by squelchy acid lines, swelling pads and crunchy, distorted rhythms before ‘Incineration Of Years And Truth’ completes the EP, edging things into a dubby territory courtesy of smooth chord sequences, spiralling echoes and bumpy, reduced drums.

After the amazing release from Kwartz and Hector Oaks, we are very pleased to have on vinyl Filip Xavi, young Belgrade artist with a lot of potential, not a newcomer on Sonntag Morgen. He shows 3 mental, hypnotic and banging tracks...and to complete the ep we have the honor to have on board Dasha Rush, with an outstanding remix!
Continuously defining his unique composition skills over the years, Gábor Lázár shared a first release with Russell Haswell for his now defunct imprint Last Foundation, quickly followed in 2014 by the album I.L.S. on Lorenzo Senni's Presto! label and EP16 on The Death of Rave, before collaborating last year on a joint album with Mark Fell The Neurobiology of Moral Decision Making, also released on The Death of Rave.
Mostly pieced together in 2015, but utilising material made as early as 2011, Crisis Of Representation forms a direct continuation of Lázár's increasingly incisive composition techniques, offering 7 pieces (+1 bonus on CD) which unknot the same nasal drip motif in myriad permutations of possibility. With that in mind, it's not difficult to draw an economically short line from his to Mark Fell's music, but where Fell's Linn grammar and SoYo accentuation tends to clip itself, Lázár's compositions ribbon off into unnaturally fluid flights of mercurial, polychromatic acrobatics.
We could imagine that this deeply abstract yet soberly conceived techno sound is antithesis to causal listening. But, if you're game enough to follow Gábor into the wormhole, and have the head for incredibly intense, elusive sonics, then you'll be embraced by a unquantifiably psychedelic experience quite unlike any other, where notions of "proper" musical convention are upended and rhythm, pitch and tone become fused by your head into scintillating psychoacoustic formations of perpetual tension and amorphous resolution.
If you're into sound design or the rave reductions of Lorenzo Senni, this one comes highly recommended

It seemed obvious that a club such as 'Le Spartacus' would eventually launch its own label. For their debut EP, club residents Medeew & Chicks Luv Us decide to partner with Mesrod & Avner to create 3 tracks filled with Deep & Dub Techno sounds. To complete this release, Jun Akimoto brings his savoir-faire with a Dub remix that only he could have mastered. 300 limited vinyl !

London label Spinning Plates is fast becoming one of the most consistent labels on the scene. Following on from the brilliant sophomore release, which featured Andy Rantzen and Bruno Schmidt, will be the debut of Nekhsa, an alias of a renowned veteran producer. Keeping in line with the label's raw, groove-led sound, Nekhsa provides four storming originals and is backed up by two heavy remixes from NYC's DJ Spider, who provides a perfect hazy counterpoint to Nekhsa skeletal grooves. It's a brilliantly minimalistic cut withrich history of electro greatness running through its vein which comes as no surprise upon listening.

When promoting the release of Figure-Ground's 'EP 5', released December 2016 it was finally announced that the previously anonymous modular duo were in fact Dronelock's Alexander Church and Boris Brenecki from Ontal. So now the cat's out of the bag it seems fitting that Figure-Ground should have this outing on the Dronelock / Ontal co-run label, Shadow Story. Add to that a collaboration with one of the UK's finest electronic artists and Figure-Ground fan, Paul Mac and you know you're set for some beautifully worked productions from this trio of talent.
Teasing and playing with the hardware throughout the EP, they've stayed within the realms of techno to create mind-melting and dance floor devastation across 6 tracks. From 'Virtues Values & Venom' itself that opens with gusto, before erratic beat experimentation on 'Eightfold Path', the frenetic 'Digital Dialectic', which also gets a second more staccato outing on Version 2, 'Noble Habitus' with its machine-funk to the subterranean 'Nativism', it's obviously been an enjoyable ride and that translates to the listener.
The 'Virtues Values & Venom EP' will be released digitally and on vinyl as a special edition 12' package that includes a CD and booklet of Figure-Ground's debut album 'Reality Revision'.

Pale Desert is the first release of the Australian born, Berlin based producer Ryen March. The name resonates not only the dry outback of his hometown, but it also mirrors the soundscape of the tracks - being completely raw and sweaty at the same time. The five track strong EP has it's core in the techno swamp but with the aesthetics of punk and EBM.
We're happy to have found a new friend from down under and beyond excited to be releasing March's first EP!
The Berlin-based Party Series "STÜTZPUNKT" are starting their new Label with forthcoming Vinyl "Aleph“. Matrixxman, as well as Stützpunkt’s very own Saturator, - Staím and Tymotica
are contributing to this first release!
The A-Side consists of 2 Main Room-Stompers, „See You In Hell“ takes you on a trip through dystopian worlds, synths pushing you away and pulling you back in before finally letting you go into an ecstatic state at the gates of your destined place! „Dubchord Invasion“ pulls you back out, the chord progressions remind you of old times, sway you into melancholy and then release you into the here and now where you are joyous to be where you are (...)
The B-Side takes a more ravey approach with 2 dancefloor bombs. „Tridems“ drips of energy that feels like it could keep you going forever, changing it up halfway through, surprising you at every turn, fueling you with new vitality at every chord change or new percussion element! „Access Extortion“ marks the finishing point off all that’s good and bad, no matter which road you’ve been on, facing forward into new beginnings, whilst never looking back, dreaming about all there is to come.

Spinning Plates is a brand new vinyl only label set to make wave in 2015. Debuting with an EP by Will & Held and a remix by Prime Numbers owner and highly respected artist Trus'Me. Will & Held use analogue equipment to get their unique sound and say their recording process and focus is on "organic" composition and flow. Experimental, cavernous and non-conformist are words that are conjured up when hearing their take on techno; it's a refreshing and compelling listen.
Trus'Me, the long time house and techno innovator take's a more direct approach with dubbed out chords, fat bass and the original's stunning pianos all coming together in hypnotic and heartfelt fashion. Spinning Plates offer our debut 12" only on 180gram vinyl. Cut and mastered at Curved, London.

For our second release in our catalogue we are proud to present a neoteric collaboration between two artists that have blended their respective musical styles to forge a three track extended play that thoroughly underlines our notion of proposing forward thinking aesthetics On one side we have Wrong Assessment, a young Milanese artist that combines gritty synth lines with rumbling drum patterns, whilst on the other we have M_Rec boss Max_M, a well known and experienced purveyor of the genre that delivers his undeniable touch and contribution to the EP, locking down a solid conception of their take on Techno This three-tracker dictates a path that takes you from the spacey synths you nd on the A side's 'Toe Tag' where the two artists join forces, to the truly captive nature of Max_M's 'Nose Out' all the way to Wrong Assessment's 'Scaphoid' that sums up the three tracks with a dashing rhythm through a percussive use of synthesis.

It's time to celebrate, nothing less than 50 releases spread along 17 years of existence. For this very reason we have planned this awesome remixes pack, split in two EP's based in the limited clear vinyl PATTERN SERIES originals and with an amazing digital release including all original cuts of the series not available digitally until now.
The first EP comes with remakes by the hands of Silent Servant, Kanding Ray and Cassegrain.
Silent Servant provides an always dark, always monotonous, always semi industrial and stripped down rework of Color, a wonderful mixing tool. While Kanding Ray ads floating pads and flanging sequences taking the original Form to cosmic new age territories. Cassegrain focuses on the beat content of Texture, making an almost strictly percussive workout aimed straight to the dancefloor.
The second EP features Shlomo's modern approach to Textures, rolling subbass, shuffled grooves, micro drones and lush pads comprise the equation. Maestro Donato Dozzy approaches Color in an old school way, vintage grooves, acid lines and rude sound mixed with resonant sweeps and sci-fi paraphernalia. Chevel offers his own personal view on Form, mixing pads and atmospheres with 80's flavored melodies and weird beats ending in industrial madness, a very unique version.

Made during his travels in Paris, London and Antwerp, the 20 year old Siwei presents the first outing on his own namesake imprint in the form of a three-part series. Each part showcasing his love for endless fidgeting with his modular rack and combining these cinematic and eerie soundscapes with off-kilter drum patterns.

They have been called, amongst other things, "the best live band in Britain." Their music has graced everything from The Sopranos to The Simpsons, and celebrity fans include Irvine Welsh and the world's biggest selling author, Stephen King. They are undoubtedly the greatest American act the UK ever did produce, and their heady combination of techno and C&W, alongside a proclivity for rock 'n' roll decadence and an acute social conscience means that they are effectively a unique entity in modern music. Exile on Coldharbour Lane is the debut album by Alabama 3, originally released in 1997. The name and cover are references to Exile on Main St. by The Rolling Stones and Coldharbour Lane a major street in Brixton, South London best known for containing several after-hours clubs. Upon its release, the album received favourable reviews, including an 8.9 review from Pitchfork Media. The song "Sister Rosetta" was featured in the film "Barnyard". "Woke Up This Morning" is best known as the opening theme music for the television series, The Sopranos, which used the "Chosen One Mix" of that song.
Queer communities have long transformed parties into something powerful: spaces where care flourishes, injustice gets challenged, and new worlds are danced into being. But today, DJs command huge fees while behind-the-scenes workers earn below minimum wage. Corporations profit from our culture while communities that created these spaces are displaced. As venues shut and workers burn out, it’s clear that something has gone deeply wrong.
Club Commons: Moving Bodies to Grow Movements in Queer Nightlife & Beyond by Anjali Prashar-Savoie takes you inside hidden stories of resistance and reinvention. We meet the people reshaping nightlife from below: abolitionist security teams creating safety without police, sober raves doubling as mental health support, radical childcare at parties, venues becoming worker cooperatives, and free party crews reclaiming public space. Through their work, we see how party-throwing skills build movements, how refusing to play changes everything, and why protecting queer nightlife means transforming who owns it.
Quotes
“When Anjali shines her perceptive light on dancefloor culture, everything is better illuminated. I can’t wait to read this book. It’s one we need.” Emma Warren (author of Dance Your Way Home/Up the Youth Club)
“Anjali’s one of the most exciting and insightful voices writing about dance music today, bringing fresh perspectives, intellectual rigour and emotive power to a conversation that’s too often homogenous, superficial or cynically commercial. Club Commons promises to be an essential and overdue book: a chance to reexamine the queer history of club culture, celebrate and critique its present, and map out radical possibilities for its future.” Ed Gillett (author of Party Lines)
“Beautifully written and unique, Anjali Prashar-Savoie’s behind-the-scenes journey through queer nightlife is as thorough as it is fascinating. Documenting a world that commercial interests are rapidly destroying, Club Commons is proof that queer culture holds the key to a better future for the dancefloor and beyond.” Professor Sam Parsley (author of Minor Keys, coach, DJ and founder of In the Key, a directory and platform championing the careers of women, trans and non-binary electronic music producers)
“Club Commons: Moving Bodies to Grow Movements in Queer Nightlife & Beyond is a vital reminder of how important the dance floor is to connect, unfurl and envision new futures. The text highlights the historic and existing care work entangled with the club space, particularly in providing temporary sites of refuge and embodied joy for Black and LGBTQIA+ communities. This is juxtaposed with research on the corporate and carceral commodification of nightlife in recent years, which exposes the false premise that club spaces are always radical. This book affirms my belief that the non-commercial nightlife ecosystem is an essential part of our social change infrastructure, rather than a luxury. Club Commons is a call to action to reclaim this space on our own terms and revive the underground.” Camille Sapara Barton, (author of Tending Grief: An Embodied Guide to Being with Grief Individually and in Community)

Bambi OFS is Cédric Dambrain, composer, electronic musician and virtual instruments designer based in Brussels, Belgium. Dambrain’s approach to music is motivated by an exploration of perception thresholds, psychoacoustics, and the physiological impact of sound.
This diversity of themes is matched by his wide range of production styles, which include electroacoustic computer music, compositions for ensembles, noise, sound installations and, more recently, club-oriented polyrythmic explorations.
Dambrain has also been composing extensively for performance artists and music theatre.Spanning four tracks of intricate and ever-shifting rythmic progressions, Bambi OFS’ debut EP YAKKA frames a tense and glittering ethnofictional world, combining kaleidoscopic percussive textures with a precisely economical aesthetic.
Extending on Cédric’s exploration of sound.space.perception as a unified phenomenon in his sound installations and noise projects, the record artwork features a photography shot by ethnomusicologist Judith Becker during a Bebuten ceremony in Bali: the picture evokes her inquiry in the trance phenomenon, in which she demonstrates that our ability to enjoy trance and its healing virtues is inversely proportional to our sense of separatedness from the rest of the world.
Meshing together numerous influences, and reflecting on the self/other dichotomy, YAKKA is a playful invitation to reconsider our identification processes.

Bestial Mouth's creations in the last two years, the INSHROUDSS EP and the RESURRECTEDINBLACK LP, are the phoenix cries of the project's rebirth under the guiding hand of vocalist Lynette Cerezo, melding noise and darkwave pop into a theatre of skin-shredding catharsis that brings the project’s post-punk roots to new levels of club-ready destruction—equal parts intensity and accessibility.
THOUSANDNEEDLES pierces that veil with warped reimaginings of both releases, from a diverse selection of artists in the dark underground. Each brings their own unique twist, whether it's to a dance ritual of pounding EBM and industrialized techno, fog-shrouded darkwave dives, cosmic washes of synthpop bliss, or soul-smashing noise dredged from a sewer cathedral. Dance through the pain, and make new paths of your scars.

In this post-industrial, post-enlightenment religion of ourselves, we have manifested a serpent of consumerism which now coils back upon us. It seduces us with our own bait as we betray the better instincts of our nature and the future of our own world. We throw ourselves out of our own garden. We poison ourselves to the edges of an endless sleep.
Animated Violence Mild was written throughout 2018, at Blanck Mass’ studio outside of Edinburgh. These eight tracks are the diary of a year of work steeped in honing craft, self-discovery, and grief - the latter of which reared its head at the final hurdle of producing this record and created a whole separate narrative: grief, both for what I have lost personally, but also in a global sense, for what we as a species have lost and handed over to our blood-sucking counterpart, consumerism, only to be ravaged by it.
I believe that many of us have willfully allowed our survival instinct to become engulfed by the snake we birthed. Animated — brought to life by humankind. Violent — insurmountable and wild beyond our control. Mild — delicious.

Birthed from Arizona’s regaled Ascetic House collective, Body of Light is a dark synth-pop outfit comprised of young brothers Andrew and Alexander Jarson. What began as a vehicle for their exploration of noise and sound during their early teens has evolved into an established production over the last decade, as Body of Light continues to carve out their own style of complex, structured, and moving dancefloor electronics.
Their music is not only individually personal, but drawn from experiences shared between the two brothers – and calls on elements of new wave, freestyle, goth, and techno to create timeless and singular tracks without fear of trend or passing fashion.
On their third album Time to Kill, Body of Light refines their brand of cold and driving synth pop with a bold pallet of sounds and a focus on uncharted technique and purpose. Like the pale digital stare of the modern devices surrounding our daily lives, the album weaves stories of love and obsession in an era of technical bondage and fleeting exhilaration. Written over a period of intense and profound change, Time to Kill stands as a startling reminder of how important our existence truly is. Haunting keys, swelling pads, and punching rhythms score their work as Alex Jarson presents an alluring and romantic dialogue with confident projection. The title single “Time to Kill” kicks off the album with a merciless signature beat, complimented by distorted sample patterns against an infectious, moving bass groove

Boreal Massif is the collaborative effort of Pessimist and Loop Faction, and here they present their debut full-length LP, We All Have An Impact.
Focusing on the destruction of the natural world and our ecosystems, We All Have An Impact shows there can be more to electronic music than a shallow and empty narrative. Built from field recordings and a deep reservoir of trip-hop / drum & bass influences (think B12's Electro-Soma, vintage Mo Wax records...), Boreal Massif's raw, unpolished anarcho-electronics offer a blueprint for the next generation of new age music.

Following his critically acclaimed collections Electronic Music from the Seventies and Eighties and Electronic Music from the Eighties and Nineties, Carl Stone quickly follows-up Baroo (March 2019) with a double-LP album of recent works, including the final section of “Fujiken”, his epic journey through southeast Asian field recordings and street cassette culture. On all six tracks, composed between 2013 and 2019, Stone’s pan-global playground of looping synths and Asian pop culture remains as fertile as ever, digitally shattered into unimagined patterns and gestures, either through the MAX programming language or (in the case of “Kikanbou”) by generating live loops within an Elektron Octatrack sampler.
The title track is the first recorded release from Stone’s ongoing collaboration with the Japanese vocalist Akaihirume. Elsewhere new influences come from rock (the slow drum break of “Bia Bia”), disco (the Nile Rodgers-esque guitar riff “Kikanbou”) and hip hop (the frenetic percussion loop of “Han Yan”). Their diversity only adds to Stone’s borderless musical vision, a world where rhythm becomes atmosphere, song becomes beat, and pop becomes art.

Die Extreme Metaller CRAVING um Sänger/Gitarrist Ivan Chertov, Gitarrist Jonas Papmeier und Drummer Wanja "Nechtan" Gröger präsentiert ihr 4. Album "Call Of The Sirens".
Daft Punk’s Discovery is a homage to a fascinating, troubled beast of an album that casts a huge shadow over the 21st Century. It’s a global view of Discovery as a cultural phenomenon, placing the album at the centre of celebrity culture, fan clubs, video, the music business etc., while also examining its profound musical impact.
Daft Punk’s Discovery is a record that looked into the future and liked what it saw; an album that predicted the electronic music explosion, YouTube and the end of privacy, while dragging soft rock back into vogue. Discovery was not only one of the best albums of the 2000s, it was one of the most prophetic, the kind of record that makes you wonder: how did they know?
You can draw lines from Discovery to Glass Swords, Kanye West, EDM, Autotune, iTunes, Beyoncé, Guilty Pleasures, social media and more. Discovery’s footprints can be found all over the modern world but it also looked back to Daft Punk’s childhood, to Van Halen records, Japanese cartoons and even Johann Sebastian Bach.
Discovery was a record that confounded many fans when it was released in 2001, thanks to its blatant pop hooks and unlikely sonic bricolage. It was a record that was – and still is – widely misunderstood; Discovery’s impact has only become clear with the passing of time, as Daft Punk have been proved right time and time again.

At the forefront of dance music for over a decade, Brighton’s James Connolly has left an indelible mark as a progressive producer; under the name L-Vis 1990, and as his alias Dance System.
Dance System boils dance music down to its core elements and the result is infectious club tools that offer something more; character that will standout in any set. Under this alias, Connolly has released on Clone and Jimmy Edgar’s Ultramajic labels.
“When Night Slugs boss L-Vis 1990, aka James Connolly, slips on his Dance System alias, the mission is simple: slamming—but pointedly simple and unfussy—tracks that get your ass on the dancefloor.” - VICE
Following a five-year hiatus, Connolly is excited to return to Dance System, with the Wind Em Up EP, released in April on Modeselektor’s lauded Monkeytown Records. In today’s serious techno world, and against the current political landscape, Dance System is the playful breath of fresh air we all want and need.
Indeed, on title track Wind Em Up, Dance System is playfully calling out for other DJs to do exactly that; wind up the crowd with the unexpected UK garage breaks that bring colour to the driving beat and guitar lick. Heeez Baaad takes a single hypnotic loop and pushes it to its absolute limit, the only break coming when the track slows down to a halt, before slamming straight back into the action. Bringing in the horns on That That Sh**, the off–kilter horn loop is unsettling, but driven along by the low-end tom groove. Body closes out the Wind Em Up EP with an uplifting piano chord, before dropping you into minimal bassline and drum groove that’s just impossible to argue with on the dancefloor.

In the Twigs is a brand new Berlin-based physical and digital record label. The first release (RABBIT001) from the label comes in the form of a 12” vinyl record, with full colour artwork and a fold-out poster, on coloured vinyl as well as digital download. RABBIT001 is available now from all good vinyl record stores and major digital platforms.
The A side, entitled “Hairclip”, produced by the Darker Than Red collective, is a hard- hitting techno track, drowned in moody, industrial atmospheres and metallic sound effects, topped off with clips of a telephone conversation and voice samples, and tells the story of an extremely drunk and angry woman on the verge of a breakup with a boyfriend she hates. It is extremely unusual - perhaps unique - to have a “story” running through a techno track, but it's executed extremely well.
The B side is a dub remix of the first track, generated after decades of listening to Joe Gibbs and Scientist. Whilst techno will never match the rhythmic complexity of those giants of analogue Dub, all the love of the sound have been used to include big reverberated and delayed kick drums and dub snares which totally characterise this track, in addition to the industrial ambience from the original. It also features some unique sound effects from Berlin, such as real trains and ambulances, as well as general city noises.

WE ARE THE BIOBOTS is an album by Michal Baj (DJ Eprom), who has ties to Silesia. It will be released on 21th January 2026, by the legendary Polish label JuNouMi Records (est. 2002). WE ARE THE BIOBOTS is an album that not only talks about technological progress, but also touches on the digitization of human consciousness in the 21st century. Although it discusses the dangers of AI development, no artificial intelligence was used in its creation.
The album features legendary hip hop DJs, including the art of scratching. The album will feature the most outstanding DJs from Poland, England, the USA, and Japan. Thanks to this, the album has a chance to gain a broader, international context. Eprom's professional experience to date has allowed him to bring together such a wide range of artists and bring them together on the album, including:
DJ D-Styles – a legend of scratching from the USA. A pioneer of the genre. Member of groups such as The Beat Junkies and Invisibl Skratch Piklz, creator of many scratching techniques still used today.
DJ Prime Cuts – founder of the legendary Scratch Perverts from London, multiple world champion and creator of unique scratching techniques.
DJ Flip Flop, Prolifix – representatives of the DJ community from the US coast.
DJ Tigerstyle – a leading representative of the DJ community in England, multiple world champion in scratching.
DJ IQ – the most successful scratching champion in the world.
DJ Miyajima – the unrivaled master and creator of the Japanese school of scratching.
DJ Melo-d – co-founder of The Beat Junkies collective, multiple DJ champion hosting a legendary show on Radio HOT 97 in the US.

Michal Baj is a multi-talented musician, artist, and music producer born in Jastrzebie-Zdroj, as well as the owner of the analog Eprom Sounds Studio, where tracks based on mixing and mastering are produced and gain worldwide recognition.
The inspiration for the album is Eprom's connection to Silesia. His work at the KWK Borynia mine, surrounded by heavy equipment and mining technology, became a direct inspiration for creating a musical story about people, machines, as well as the directions of technological development and the impact they have on society.
The album is released by JuNouMi Records, a label specializing in vinyl records, founded in 2002. Your wax supplier.

He's back and in full effect. Rhys Llewellyn aka DRMCNT finally drops his long awaited 'RX-Bounces' set on the ever wonderful Wrong Speed Records and it doesn't disappoint from beginning to end. Armed with his minimal Roland / Yamaha set up he gets to work making some seriously jumpy electronic jams that put a whole heap of producers out there to shame. From the get-go you're in. 'Negative Response' is a clipped electro breaker in the 430 West mode while 'Brudenel Dreams' starts one way then flips completely the other with a very clever bass drum and hi-hat riddim. Seriously good. Seriously fun for all. 'Galdem' takes the action a bit deeper with its submerged drums and off kilter beats while 'Reality In Zero' adds some solar sci-fi on top of its oriental percussion. Watch those bins with the Hardflooresque 'Hummdinger', check the chopped up breaks on 'True Supplier', get inside the nagging bassline on 'Uncase' and then let it all drift away with the closing 'Tea And The Tree'. It's all here. It's all amazing. One of the best electronic albums of the year hands down. You need this - Chris Summers, Rough Trade Records

- 1: Heads (Parris Remix)
- 2: Heads (Ramzi Remix)
- 3 32: 1 Contact (Lokier Remix
- 4: Electric Mud (Gerry Read Remix)
After the success of last year’s Mixbone EP, we once again invite four dance music experimentalists to remix Eric Copeland. Where 2017’s Goofballs was the first album recorded in its entirety in Eric’s current home of Palma de Mallorca, Spain, and the result of countless hours spent working in the studio, last fall’s Trogg Modal Vol. 1 pushed his ‘Freakbeat 4/4’ agenda even further, with a sense of humor that bubbles over and out through the speakers. Rife with chunky percussive layers and tweaked loopy vocals, these frenzied, self-described “rippers” are practically designed to be remixed. Parris (Trilogy Tapes, Hemlock) and RAMZi (RVNG, 12th Isle) both take on the singsongy rhythms of “Heads.” Parris’ take pares down the track, giving it room to glisten and expand, while RAMZi’s paddles along in a characteristically murky, laid-back manner. Lokier (Days Of Being Wild, Spirits) goes in for the jugular with an acidic rework of “321 Contact,” repurposing vocal samples as spooky EBM. Closing out the record is Gerry Read (Aus, Accidental Jnr), who pits the heavy stomp of “Electric Mud” against whizzing frequencies. Newfangled interpretations of tracks that were already out there to begin with.
We're absolutely delighted to announce the reissue of Ouroborindra on the Ghost Box Records label.
Ouroborindra was first released in 2005 on CD-R, and now re-issued on CD and, for the first time, on Vinyl. Eric Zann was an alias for the more experimental work of Jim Jupp, aka Belbury Poly and Ghost Box co-founder.
Inspired by early 20th century cosmic horror fiction, Ouroborindra sets out to conjure up it's own awe inspiring and chilling imagery. It's drone music with melodic elements, stitched together with synthesizers, samples, found sound and effects.
Another exceptional reissue from the consistently excellent Ghost Box.
Drop us a line now to order these.

Fat Freddy’s Drop are set to release their fourth studio album, ‘BAYS’, on October 23rd 2015. Following the worldwide success of ‘Blackbird’ in 2013, the NewZealand based seven-piece are back with ‘BAYS’, a 9-track LP recorded at the band’s BAYS Studio in Kilbirnie, Wellington a former 1950s HMV vinyl pressing plant. The predominantly studio written album draws on the lexicon of genres that have come to epitomize the bands’ sound. Opening with the slow burn funk of ‘Wairunga Blues’ the album journeys through a hybrid of reggae, jazz with techno rhythms underpinning Freddy’s signature horns and Joe Dukie’s soulful and introspective vocal, arriving finally on the crooked blues jam of ‘Novak’.
The album exudes a confidence of a band truly comfortable in their skin. “It’s been a more creative process writing this album in the studio rather than recording songs which have been well roadtested”, Freddy’s vocalist Joe Dukie said. Internationally, Fat Freddy’s Drop reputation continues to soar. Blackbird has sold over 200,000 album copies worldwide with the UK, US and Germany becoming the bands strongest markets. This success is reflected by recent live highlights including sold out gigs at London’s 10,000 capacity Alexandra Palace and 3x Sydney Opera House shows. The BAYS album tour will start in October in Australia and roll out worldwide into 2016.

Theatre Of Cruelty is a tribute to the French poet, novelist, actor and playwright Antonin Artaud (1896-1948), a critic of conformity and an enemy of convention, he was a true "punk" before his time. Artaud was once a member of the Surrealists, before being definitively excluded by André Breton for political reasons. The Marseille-born Antonin Artaud, trapped by his own madness, left behind an incandescent literary oeuvre of unparalleled verbal and symbolic power.
He redefined the true role of the Theatre (of Cruelty), infused vibrant emotions, visionary philosophical reflection, indomitable verve and savage discourse into each of his texts. His taste for laudanum, cocaine and heroin did not help his psychiatric disorders, but the lucidity with which he described his mental illness and tried to contain his visible delusions through art therapy allowed him to experiment in the madhouse, leading to an atheistic form of Ecstatic Passion. His experience of shamanism among the Tarahumara Indians of Mexico in 1936 (under the influence of peyote) and the multiple electric shocks to which he was subjected throughout his life did not succeed in attenuating the force of his writing, nor the subversive content of his discourses. His ethical and aesthetic stances have made him one of the greatest iconoclasts of the 20th century. Never has a writer documented and witnessed so well the situation of a person suffering from deep depression, depersonalisation and behavioural disorders.
Rereading his complete works during the pandemic, Pedro decided to revive his HIV+ power-noise project and compose a new uncompromising album to pay homage to this immense provocative genius (whom he had already sampled on his first album 20 years ago!). Most of his instrumentals were recorded while in seclusion and only with old Korg synthesizers, industrial sequences and shredded tapes.
A number of artists have collaborated on this album who have meant a lot to Pedro in his last years, and who have also adored the character of Antonin Artaud, such as Marc Hurtado, member of the cult band Etant Donnés, Marc Caro, director and director of films such as Delicatessen, or Alien: Resurrection, guitarist Alice Botté, Phil Von, member of Von Magnet, Emmanuel Hubaut from Tétines Noires and Barkosina from Years Of Denial.
All words & lyrics written by Antonin Artaud
All music written, recorded, mixed & produced by Pedro Peñas Robles

Celebrated techno producer, sound artist and one half of ORKA, Jens L. Thomsen announces groundbreaking EP ÆÐR, landing 15th December via Kervið. ÆÐR (meaning ‘vein’ in English) is a uniquely atmospheric two-track EP, exploring modernity and post-war freedom through a Faroese lens. Commissioned for Eysturoyartunnil, a 12km subsea tunnel - the largest of its kind - in Jens’ native Faroe Islands, a structural marvel with striking art that has both a voice and aesthetic identity of its own. The EP currently lives as a live audio installation, broadcast around the clock on FM radio for anyone travelling through the tunnel. This is the first time a soundscape has been permanently installed and broadcast via this kind of technical solution allowing the sound to become part of the experience of the space itself. As one half of revered techno duo, ORKA, twice nominated for the Nordic Council Music Prize, who recently released their sixth album, All At Once, and an integral part of Yann Tiersen’s live band, Thomsen has already made a significant impact in electronic music. ÆÐR is an expansion of his work as a composer, which includes several site-specific soundscapes, including NORD which was commissioned by the Southbank Centre and installed across the entire fifth floor of the Royal Festival Hall in London. On ÆÐR, Thomsen brings his talent for one-of-a-kind environmental sonic experiences to a wider audience. A paean to human endeavour and the developmental history of humanity, the tunnel is at once progressive and ancient: a liminal setting where late-modern and pre-modern longings somehow seem to rub off on each other. These intersecting ideas are translated into a striking soundscape of dark drones, creeping frequencies, bleeping ambience, groaning masses of sound, and pulsating echoes from the hidden world beneath us. The underworld that we somehow are able to move through temporarily in our car under the sea, giving the tunnel and the islands a voice of their own, while exploring the parallels between the tunnel and Faroese society today. This uniquely immersive and compelling work, previously existing only as a transitory experience for users of the Eysturoyartunnil, is now available on vinyl for the first time to be considered and enjoyed in all its fascinating detail. A thought-provoking and groundbreaking piece from one of Europe’s most exceptional composers and sound artists today
The incredible posthumous solo album from Front Line Assembly-member Jeremy Inkel Hijacker is an album that celebrates Jeremy Inkel's life. It's an album of hard-hitting EBM and techno grooves and industrial dancefloor experiments. But it's also an album about late-night work. It's about life on the road and life in back-stages, about life in small towns and love in big towns. Hijacker shows its influences: acid techno looms large, as does early WaxTrax dancefloor 12" records. Fans of Stephan Bodzin will hear his unique style in the mix, and repeat listens will bring out deeper doses of Deadmau5, The KLF, and, of course, the modern sound of Front Line Assembly, which Jeremy had such a hand in shaping.

• An overview of clubbing scenes and sounds in British cities and towns from pre-acid house to now including London, Glasgow, Manchester, Sheffield, Margate, Todmorden and many more.
• An exploration of the spaces where club music exists from the past to the present and where this could be in the future as our cities become more populated and lives more digitalised.
• Connects themes and trends in the evolution of clubs, raves, squat parties, pirate radio and soundsystem culture in the context of these urban environments.
• Features more than 100 interviews with DJs, promoters, ravers, venue owners and visionaries who have helped make UK club/rave culture happen including Norman Jay, Bill Brewster, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, DJ Rap, Slam, DJ Storm, DJ Paulette, Chris Liberator, Geeneus, Mark Moore, Josey Rebelle, Joe Rush,John Klett (Despacio), Ashley Beedle, Caspar Melville and many more.
Since the dawn of time, humans have had the urge to come together and move to music. It may have started in caves but these days it happens in clubs often found in the shady corners of our towns and cities. Or at least it did until these places began to march to the beat of property developers rather than DJs. In London in the five years to 2016, half of the clubs were lost while a further quarter have been removed in the devastation of Covid. So what now?
At this critical moment, ‘Out of Space’ plots a course through the spaces and unlikely locations club culture has found a home. From Glasgow to Margate via Manchester, Sheffield and unlikely dance music meccas such as Coalville and Todmorden, it maps the key cities and towns where electronic music has thrived, it currently dances and the spaces it might be headed to next.
The book explores how urban landscapes have acted as a home for other shades of club music too such as pirate radio, dance music festivals, soundsystem culture and more. As our lives become increasingly digitised and real estate more valuable in the 21st century, Out of Space looks at the new clubbing models emerging to anticipate the future relationship between the shifting politics of space and sound.
Rather than an epitaph, this is a rallying cry and celebration of the club’s resilience based on a lifetime of getting wide-eyed inside them.
“Jim has been in the trenches of the club scene as early as I can remember absorbing different sounds, spaces and musical cultures. He’s truly immersed in the scene and has a genuine passion for clubland and all things related.” Toddla T (Artist/Producer/DJ)

The infusion of electronic music into the score ultimately expanded into the inclusion of 11 remixes on the album, and it was an amalgam of inspirations which brought that idea to fruition. Both composers have worked extensively with electronic music, including their work on the celebrated, techno-infused Run Lola Run soundtrack.

Part 2[11,13 €]
Different strokes for different folks. The celebrative 11-track 'xoxo' compilation, originally pressed as a 3xLP, is now also available as three separate EPs. On EP 1, Legowelt lures you in with Bos Ochtend Mist, before Aurora Halal's deep chords on Spiral send you ascending. Antenna's Break Flute shifts the pace and prints a ghostly image on your retina, and SFV Acid rolls the credits with UrbanFury128, a groover that goes down smooth.
Local Action and Lena Raine present Reknowing — a multi-disciplinary series of remixes and reinterpretations of the BAFTA-nominated composer’s landmark debut album Oneknowing.
A multiple-award winning composer, Raine is best known for the soundtrack to 2018’s video game Celeste, a break-out indie success story that tackles themes of anxiety, self-examination, depression and more. Considered one of the great modern game soundtracks, it was recently named one of the best of thelast 20 years by Pitchfork. Since Celeste, Raine has rapidly expanded her CV, working on both independent (in-development painting adventure Chicory) andmajor soundtracks alike (she composed the music for Minecraft’s recent Nether Update release), while also releasing Oneknowing, her 2019 debut LP that Noisey described as “taking her soundtrack sensibility into luscious new realms, positioning her as one of the most exciting modern composers.” A year on from Oneknowing, we present Reknowing - a companion piece that sees the album re-interpreted by a carefully selected international group of artists, composers and soundtrackers. Three of electronic music’s finest current artists feature in Yamaneko, Ziúr and breakout techno star Anastasia Kristensen, as does one of video game’s most respected modern composers in Yasunori Nishiki (best known for his work on Octopath Traveller and the recent Final Fantasy 7 remake). Elsewhere, Finnish composer Jukio Kallio, who contributed to Raine’s Celeste soundtrack, emergent TV and film soundtracker D’Anthoni Wooten and the mysterious lycopene complete the package, offering seven unique takes on one of music’s most exciting creatives.

Lex-Or returns to Fill-Lex Records with their first solo album, songs that mark the end of a stage. The album is composed of two parts:
Futuro, songs composed between 2019-2020 a critical look towards an end that sends us every day to deal with our own fears and insecurities. It is not dance music, it’s music from the bowels.
Pasado, songs composed in a previous period, from a live in his studio in 2014 with the song “Paisajes Cerebrales”, to some songs that go from 2015-18, being closer to the dance floor and its rhythmic patterns, becoming a dark and decadent techno.

Last year Sacred Bones released the groundbreaking album Sounds of the Unborn which was made by using biosonic MIDI technology to translate Luca Yupanqui’s in utero movements into sound. With the help of her parents, Psychic Ills bassist Elizabeth Hart and Lee Scratch Perry collaborator Iván Diaz Mathé, Luca’s prenatal essence was captured in audio. They designed a ritual, a kind of joint meditation for the three of them, with the MIDI devices hooked to Elizabeth’s stomach, transcribing its vibrations
into Iván’s synthesizers. They let the free-form meditations flow without much interference, just falling deeper into trance and feeling the unity. After five hour-long sessions, the shape of an album began to emerge. Elizabeth and Iván then edited and mixed the results of the sessions, respecting the sounds as they were produced, trying to intervene as little as possible, allowing Luca’s message to exist in its raw form.

The soundtrack features music from the show 360, choreographed by Mehdi Kerkouche.
In 360, French choreographer Mehdi Kerkouche breaks away from traditional choreographic codes to harness the immersive energy of a live concert, heightened by Lucie Antunes’ electronic score and set within Emmanuelle Favre’s grand scenography. Standing all around a circular stage, the audience becomes an integral part of the experience. Through a series of vibrant tableaux, eight dancers deliver a striking portrait of contemporary youth, in search of a voice and representation.
Conceived as a collective driving force, the original soundtrack composed by Lucie Antunes plays a central role in the 360 experience. At the crossroads of electronic music, live energy and percussive writing, the score envelops the space, interacts with the dancers’ bodies and propels movement into a continuous dynamic. More than an accompaniment, it acts as a unifying force, creating a vibrant tension between pulses, textures and silences, and transforming listening into a sensory and celebratory experience.
360 will be performed on March 9, 10 and 11 at the Élysée Montmartre in Paris.

Darf man sich so hart über Männer lustig machen? Man darf!

During the second half of the 1990s, Paris experienced a dance music revolution thanks to groundbreaking artists like Daft Punk, Air, Super Discount, Motorbass, Cassius, Dimitri from Paris, Bob Sinclar and many, many more. It was a scene that became known as French Touch and was heralded throughout the world as the epitome of dance music cool, forever placing Paris on the dance culture map.
Journalist and author Martin James was there right from the start, documenting the scene from its inspirations to its earliest moments and onto its global breakthrough. In the process, he inadvertently provided the French Touch moniker that became adopted throughout the world.
Drawing on a dazzling array of exclusive interviews with the biggest names in French electronic music history, French Connections explores France’s significant contribution to dance music culture that paved the way for the French Touch explosion.
“Endlessly informative and thoroughly enjoyable, James manages to bring even the most boring artists (Air) to vibrant life with his energetic prose and rich imagery.” Bob Stanley, Mojo
“(James) has a rare, imagistic talent for evoking the unearthly sounds of modern dance music.” The Guardian
“Viva Monsieur James! Essential reading for all fans of Gallic grooves.” DJ Mag
“If ever a book was overdue then it’s this one, which charts the influence of French electronica on the world outside the hexagon over the past decade or so… tres bien.” Select

“Introducing artist Mateo Hurtado from Zurich/Switzerland. A composer who develops his works from modular Synth obtaining a wrap-around finish. As a result of a melodic complexity, this release maintains an introductory beginning with slow and marked rhythms. An evolution that gradually increases the tension without leaving behind the initial modular enveloping melodies. ”

From acid house to prog-rock, there is no form of modern popular music that hasn’t been propelled forwards by the synthesizer. As a result, they have long been objects of fascination, desire and reverence for keyboard players, music producers and fans of electronic music alike. Whether looking at an imposing modular system or posing with a DX7 on Top of the Pops, the synth has also always had an undeniable physical presence.
This book celebrates their impact on music and culture by providing a comprehensive and meticulously researched directory of every major synthesizer, drum machine and sampler made between 1963 and 1995. Each featured instrument is illustrated by hand and shown alongside its vital statistics and some fascinatingly quirky facts.
In tracing the evolution of the analogue synthesizer from its invention in the early 1960s to the digital revolution of the 1980s right up until the point that analogue circuits could be modelled using software in the mid-1990s, the book tells the story of analogue to digital - and back again.
Tracing that history and showing off their visual beauty with art-book quality illustrations, this a must for any self-respecting synth fan.

Synthesizer Evolution: From Analogue to Digital (and Back) author Oli Freke returns with a new volume in his Synthesizer Evolution A6 zine series. The first two volumes (Vintage Synths and Drum Machines & Samplers) focused on vintage electronic instruments from the 1970s and 1980s. Volume three moves into the 21st century, showcasing a selection of the most interesting, impactful, and—arguably—best synthesizers of the past two decades.
The synths in this book celebrate the vast range of sonic possibilities now available to musicians and producers. From analogue wonders to extraordinary digital creations, from tightly designed monosynths to open-ended polyphonic beasts, each one is more marvellous than the last!
Holuzam's third release features a fearless long-time sound activist: Ondness is one of many aliases of Bruno Silva. You may know him from Sabre (with Carlos Nascimento) or solo as Serpente; under the Ondness alias he’s been putting out music on Where To Now?, Seagrave or Sucata Tapes (a sister label from Discrepant). “Not Really Now Not Any More” is a beautiful resilient piece, mastering the fine line between album and mixtape.
Both the title and the contents of “Not Really Now Not Any More” have been inspired by the idea that we are constantly floating around unfinished ideas. The title is taken from a graffiti that inspired Alan Garner to write “Red Shift” (Mark Fisher wrote about it in his book/essay “The Weird And the Eerie”). The typo and the idea around “not really now not any more” serves this album perfectly well.
During its ten tracks, Ondness is constantly going back and forth on the way he explores soundscapes and how they can pair up with their own resolution. Nothing in “Not Really Now Not Any More” is really finished but also it isn’t unfinished. It’s a subtle idealization of the importance of accepting how things are. “Torre” starts and ends the album as two different songs sharing the similarities – not only the title – that encapsulate the whole essence of “Not Really Now Not Any More”.
“Esquina, Espera” points out this whole idea of never-ending construction, it’s dub-ska-industrial- techno perfectly crafted to make the listener feel the freakish anxiety that we have to be everywhere right now. It’s pop-up music, constantly moving and fading away, reappearing with a new idea and then leaving it out in the open. It tells the listener about how it lacks ideas because it contains too many ideas.
Those ‘too many ideas’ make this a perfectly fit record for 2019. Music that is everywhere and nowhere. But it's not loud or trying to show off. It lets the listener peel its skin and find the magnificent sci-fi extravaganza that “Not Really Now Not Any More” inspires. Going nowhere being somewhere. Do you feel me?

The collaborative debut of American minimal techno pioneer Troy Pierce and Colombian audiovisual artist Natalia Escobar aka Poison Arrow was conceived in reverse: first they created a collection of shadowy surrealist videos, then wrote music inspired by them. This inverted process proved remarkably fruitful. Shatter is a simmering, slow-burn noir odyssey inspired by the Greek myth of Echo and Narcissus, traversing subtle shades of sleepwalker dub, metallic lament, broken beats, and erotic negative space. It's an effectively unsettling evocation of the legend's core theme: “There is nothing more complex than a shattered heart, or a heart that can't love.”
Considering their shared background trafficking in darkened dance floor modes, what's most striking about Pierce with Arrow's partnership is its rhythmic restraint. The album's 10 tracks seethe and shudder between glamor and gloom, with only occasional dread-steeped metronomes mapping the malaise to a grid. They speak of pursuing a “spatial approach” with this project, which manifests in the music's immersive design and patient execution, each mangled clang and rippling pool of bass allowed to reverberate
its full flickering waveform.
Plunge deeper into the deranged world of PORTRAYAL OF GUILT with DEVIL MUSIC, the latest EP from the Austin- based trio. In the wake of releasing two full-length records in 2021 - We Are Always Alone and CHRISTFUCKER - they followed up 2022 with a year of relentless touring. In the middle of their frantic schedule, the band took time to craft the five new songs that would make up Devil Music with Viva Studios’ Matt Michel (Majority Rule) in Virginia. They then took their creative vision to the next level with Ben Greenberg (Uniform), by tracking alternate versions of each song with orchestral arrangements in place of the three piece’s standard instrumentation.

Brussels-based producer Sagat’s highly anticipated debut album ‘Silver Lining’ lands on Vlek Records. Sagat takes us on a deep dive into a dense sonic universe: It’s bass music viewed from multiple vantage points, an explorative zoom onto contemporary dance music’s broad ranging cadences, paradoxically viewed from a distance. Silver lining bathes in cluttering rhythms that hover over corroded thumping grooves. Poly chrome synths emerge dramatically, interlocking with oddly timed techno syncopations. Yet all tracks are held together by firm, dubbed out beat repetitions and slabs of sub bass, not without a melodic sense of drama. Sagat’s disintegrated sound-design stands in between musical dichotomies, at once spaced-out, disorienting and emotive, but also explorative, colourful and full of tension. Moving, yet statuesquely standing idle. Silver Lining is an album longing for the dancefloor, but also about disconnection from it: A highly personal presentation of this producers’ singular take on bass oriented club music. From our standing point we love to see how Sagat’s music keeps evolving, toying with contemporary club music’s specific tropes, unbound by its normativeness. Silver lining is an album rich in contrast that works for personal listening experience as well as for the adventurous DJ with one foot firmly on the dancefloor, the other somewhere way out there.

Two years after the release of 'Kreise' Selm have once again peered out from the torture racked enclave they call a studio. Originally conceived as two separate EP's and later stacked into an all-consuming album over 44 minutes 'TiiiER / Post-Adrenaline' pushes Selm's agenda of black dwarf techno and physically exhausting industrial churning to new levels. The opening salvo of tracks that form the 'TiiiER' disc (tracks 1-5) posit a techno minimalism coated in the incredible, almost edible crust of controlled distortion and flaking edges garnered through masterful gain staging. Opener 'Sin' accrues greater density with each iteration and pass. 'Kreise' is classic DBX style beep ran into manic filters and weight gain classes.'Moger' is a truly sinister and clinical piece of industrial sound design raising blood pressure with its stainless steel poise. 'Laus' is a real percy, syncopated just the right side of falling over and baked into the toughest compression throbs. It closes the first 'disc' and perhaps what could be considered the more straight forward tracks of the album. 'Post-Adrenaline' the second disc of the set is where Selm's love of intensely textural sound design work can be best felt. 'Nineteen Voices' opens with its disembodied conversations utterly smothered by the roiling mass of bass synth which surrounds on all sides. 'Irr' terrifies the young with it's truly OTT undulance of seismic tone, as reverential to death industrial as it is to guitar music, the riff laid bare. 'Brett' is a damp, warm environment of intelligent growth. Fermenting itself again in a stew of gnashing bass heaviness now crowned with glowing bowed metal and tuned feedback. 'Sommeil' closes the second disc with not a single positive note played, it's a dreary escalation of all the albums previous incarnations, flickering noise shaped rhythm, serpentine bass formations and no rush to please or to entertain. At just under 6 minutes, it and the album are over. Selm do not hold up on this follow up to Kreise. While the albums share ideas they are refined to a point of punishment here. 'TiiiER / Post-Adrenaline' is hyper-modern music that sounds like it's made from air, stone and rust.

The Marshall Suite is the 1999 album by the Fall. The album builds on the techno-influenced beats of its predecessor Levitate, while also returning to a more rockabilly-influenced sound reminiscent of earlier Fall line-ups with songs such as the catchy “Touch Sensitive” and the strange, complex, thumping jungle beats of “The Crying Marshal”.
The Marshall Suite was made immediately after an American tour during which Mark E. Smith had an onstage fight with members of the band and was arrested following ongoing altercations at the hotel at which the group were staying. While the remaining band members quit and returned to England, leaving Smith in a cell in Manhattan, Julia Nagle chose to stay in the band, helping to assemble the group’s new line-up.
During the recording of the album, this new line-up was still taking shape and the album features two different bassists. None the less it was very well-received album at the time and highly collectible by now.

Originally released in 1990, En-Tact was the first Shamen album to feature Mr. C. Besides being one of the few early British dance albums worth its weight in artistry as well as sound, En-Tact is a truly historic gathering of the cream of the new dance music. Mixing and production come from a cast including Paul Oakenfold, William Orbit, Graham Massey, Orbital, Evil Eddie Richards, the Beatmasters, Meat Beat Manifesto, Joey Beltram, Tommy Musto, the Irresistible Force and Caspar Pound. The Shamen fare well also on their own productions, and the singles 'Move Any Mountain', 'Make It Mine' and 'Hyperreal Orbit' are infectious techno-pop anthems, while 'Omega Amigo' is an early ambient classic.

Time – and its passing – is our only certainty. As we sleep time dissolves and during the R.E.M.-phase of sleep we enter a time warp. In this classy 7-tracks release, we combine solid electro-driven brain computations to downtempo ambience. This is our attempt at a 4D R.E.M. in which we discover and study what happens during the last hours of this phase of sleep: the R.E.M.-phase. The parallelism between the emotions felt during sleep and those experienced in real life is often unseen and untouchable, as everything that has value in our lives. Sleep scientists might call what we accomplish as a highly effective, potentially dangerous man-made artefact. Train To Eltanin deliver the first release for KER, new label run by Jonathan Tegelaars and Herve Atsè Corti (aka Herva).

Whatever the case may be: thank you for considering our record. You should know that this release right here is a compendium of high-quality house, techno, and UK Garage from all over the globe. We managed to pack a double LP with 19 tracks featuring 22 artists, including Blursome (whose releases on Scuba’s Hotflush Records have been compared to Burial) and Daniels Jack (with releases on Nervous Records and Desert Hearts, his track here is more akin to Blawan).
Also included is a totally sweet double-sided insert of custom tattoo flash-art commissioned and curated by the label founders. Lastly, there is a digital download code for all tracks (which includes extended mixes and secret songs).

Recording technology was completely revolutionized in the 80s by the multitrack recorder, with the popularity of 24-channel SSL consoles sweeping the world. Japanese pop music created during this wave of digital improvement is now recognized worldwide as ""City Pop."" Techno Pop was another offshoot born of the same revolution. Precise, computer-controlled beats produced by groups like Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) introduced a different type of sound to the masses. By now, these works have been brought into the international limelight and continue to be a major influence on today's music.
At the center of Tokyo’s Techno Pop scene was ALFA/YEN Records. The label left behind an impressive body of work, but much of it wasn't made widely available... until now! This new, definitive compilation focuses on the music archives of the YEN Records catalog, available for the first time exclusively at Light in the Attic. This is a true celebration of Japan's Techno Pop scene of the 80s, reissued with the intent that future generations, internationally, will be able to discover, enjoy, and appreciate ALFA/YEN and its significant contributions to the sonic landscape of the 80s and beyond.

Warzou and Gil.Barte joined together for WARZABART side project, based on modular and analog setup. The album, recorded in a day at Big Science Studio by the duo, results into noise textures and industrial punk-pop vibes, cooked by layers. Struggle vocals arrangements from the french situation, polyrhythmic and disonnant wind instruments, for a dark club vision.

Yiannis Iliakis is a multi instrumentalist and composer from Athens. He is mainly known as a drummer. As such he is a member of the free jazz band Outward Bound as well as a member of the successful Greek progressive rock band Ciccada. However, that's only one side of Iliakis' creative efforts. In April 2021, he released his first full length electronic album entitled Vertical Horizon on the Submersion Records, which mostly is an ambient work. Now, with Mountainmouth he opens another chapter for his musical talents.
The EP is one of the most thrilling and adventurous takes on what the IDM term usually would suggest. The key song might be the title track "Mountainmouth" - an extremely energetic composition which won't leave you unaffected. As per most of Iliakis' songs it is based on originally recorded drums that were heavily edited. In the next step, these were combined with chords, melodies, bass and harmonies on top. The musical result is simply breathtaking - one might even call this track electronica for prog-rock heads. Surely a perfect opener for the release.
The next song is Carbonated Soap on which Iliakis is going straight forward. The catchy melody and a fresh uptempo beat are offering something that could even fit well into a club-friendly DJ set. Next up, comes "Infected Walkman". According to Iliakis, it was the first one he made for this project when he participated in an art exhibition. This track, as well as the following "Sad Plants", are both down tempo and chilled, yet keeping an experimental vibe without loosing a soulful and human touch. Coming closer to the end, "Exodus Denied" is a brilliant experimental ambient piece, more similar to the works on the Vertical Horizon LP. Finally, the EP ends with a short edit of "Carbonated Soap" that jumps right to the more energetic parts after the first break.
Mountainmouth may not be an easy listen at start - but we are sure the music has the power to be another classic release from our catalogue. The EP will be released in July 2022 on a very limited 12" vinyl as well as digitally. The cover artwork was done by Iliakis himself. We are very excited to present a new artist to you on Equinox with so many different talents.
