Das 1995 in nur einem Tag aufgenommene und von Brian Eno gemischte Album gilt bis heute als bedeutendstes Charity-Album aller Zeiten. Es vereinte Größen wie Oasis, Blur, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Portishead, Neneh Cherry sowie das Superprojekt The Smokin’ Mojo Filters (Sir Paul McCartney, Paul Weller & Noel Gallagher).

Werk, das musikalisch von Kindheitserinnerungen an Familienurlaube erzählt.

The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die return October 17 with Dreams of Being Dust, an album that finds the Connecticut-formed collective plumbing the depths of emotional ruin and emerging with their most scorched, unrelenting work yet. Co-produced by guitarist Chris Teti (Fiddlehead, Anxious) and Greg Thomas (END, Misery Signals), the album exchanges the band"s usual sprawl for something more serrated-folding djent-like heft and post-hardcore volatility into their post-everything DNA. Dreams of Being Dust is the band"s fifth studio album, and follows up their well- received 2021 album, Illusory Walls, which arrived as their "heaviest, proggiest, most audacious release to date" according to Stereogum. Tackling complex social and political themes like religion and capitalism, Pitchfork praised its scathing indictments as "fuming with resentment for the ruthless greed and self-interest fueling societal collapse. If Illusory Walls was their grand reckoning, Dreams Of Being Dust is the aftermath: raw, furious, alive. But even amid the chaos, the band"s core remains intact-a belief in community, resistance, and making sense of the world through sheer volume and vulnerability. TWIABP have always blurred the lines between hope and despair, and here, that duality feels sharper than ever. Now a decade in, the band- David F. Bello (vocals), Chris Teti (guitar/ vocals), Joshua Cyr (bass), Katie Dvorak (synth/vocals), Steven K. Zak Starkey had a concept. He ran it by Shaun Ryder (Happy Mondays); a super group based around Shaun's beat poetry and the sprawling peacock universe of Andy Bell's (Ride/Oasis) other-worldly guitar-scapes and the mind-bending, time-stretching, hypnotic insurrection of Bez's (Happy Mondays) maracas. Add to this one fifth dimension Noel Gallagher (Oasis/High Flying Birds), and Domino Bones full version became deeply etched into the gravity-laden grooves of this loudest of transparent top tunes. Titled after the lycanthropic howling chorus of their melancholic track “Sitting at the Station,” Awooo finds the duo on the road again, full of ruminative wanderlust and exploring sprawling, dark deserts, carrying with only their songbook of western-inspired folklore. The meditative, building desire of “The Cabin on the Hill,” the pensive yearning etched inside “Poison Down the Wire,“ and a tasteful reimagining of the tried-and-true traditional “Mama Don’t” that could easily pass as an original, all exhibit the creative growth that these young troubadours have established over their decade-long career. This limited first edition pressing of Awooo is pressed on frosted shadow color vinyl and is limited to 800 copies worldwide.

With a multi-decade spanning back catalogue behind him, Bearface aka Raj Panasa shows no signs of slowing down. Over the years he has built a sturdy reputation around his distinct and innovative feel-good touch whether that be on his own Beartone Records, or the many other labels he has shared his classy sound with.

“Remakes and Raw Cuts Vol. 1” is the launch of a new vinyl series from the London-based producer, a safe place for him to showcase his eclectic sound, alongside edits and remakes of some of his favourites over the years, all finding a home on his Beartone label.

Starting off on the A side Bearface provides a funk fuelled latin explosion with his version of the classic “Tudo Que Você Podia Ser”, sassy disco attitude ready for the summer months, presenting some unforgivable dance floor mania. The A2 “Got To Be” is an original cut, meandering between playful guitar licks, and stripped back, hypnotic percussion, there is a curious atmosphere as the track continues to simmer.

On the flip side an edit from the revered beatmaker. First up he edits “Tell Me I’m Not Dreamin’” by Jermaine Jackson, the infectious vocal injects a zesty life into a killer electro groove, a playful and animated trip ready to rock the floor! Closing out the EP is the retro sounding “Everything”, the robotic vocal flashes in and out, nodding towards Daft Punk, boasting beautiful strings and crispy hi-hats bringing that day time energy.

After their first joint recording experience in 2022, in which they dedicated a monograph to the Beatles, revisiting their great classics,
Sarah Jane Morris, a British jazz, rock, and R&B singer and songwriter, and the Solis String Quartet, a Neapolitan string quartet with
extensive concert and recording experience, are embarking on a new album. This time, it's not a monograph, but a tribute to a series
of artists who have left an indelible mark on the universal music world with their art and unique lifestyle. The project is titled "The 27
Club," a reference to those artists who, despite not choosing to belong to any elite circle, were united by the fate of having left this
world too soon, at just 27 years old. Among them are great names such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Amy
Winehouse, and Otis Redding. Despite their differences, these artists share a charisma and a passion for music that has made them
immortal. Their musical legacy continues to celebrate their memory and inspire new generations. The album is a tribute to these timeless
artists, whose songs remain timeless and continue to move. Forever Young.

Eddie Murphy and Judge Reinhold return for the third installment of the series, and the franchise was graced with some new faces behind the scenes: Director John Landis (Animal House, Thriller, Coming To America), and Musician, Producer, and Songwriter Nile Rodgers (Chic, David Bowie, Coming To America).

Homage is paid to Faltermeyer's beloved Axel F, with a funky and fun rendition performed by Rogers and Richard Hilton, but with the addition of an orchestra to the band and synths, the action-packed score takes a fun, dynamic direction that suits the film perfectly.

Beverly Hills Cop III Original Motion Picture Score is available for the first time on 2xLP vinyl. It contains the full score, plus alternate score tracks, unused demos, and bonus tracks. Housed in a gatefold jacket (which features a WonderWorld theme park map, recreated by Dan Goldwasser) and red poly-lined inner sleeves, the pressing is limited to 1,000 copies across four colorful themed variants.

Break 4 Love, the timeless 1988 deep house anthem from Vaughan Mason’s Raze, featuring Keith Thompson’s soulful vocals was not only #1 US Dance Club hit and UK Top 30 single but an evergreen classic that remains a club culture staple 37 years on since its initial release. Its warm TR-909 groove, hypnotic bassline, and intimate lyrics continue to resonate across generations.

Alongside the original mix, this brand-new release from Armada Music & Champion serves up three essential remixes on one 12” vinyl. IIija Rudman kicks things off, preserving the sensual beating heart of Raze's iconic original while sliding effortlessly into the dancefloor rotations of today. Veteran of the scene Michael Gray puts his signature touch on ‘Break 4 Love’ adding extra percussive elements and sensuous sound effects. Through this Gray stays true to the original whilst providing a fresh take on the ’88 classic. Thierry Wolf und Frédéric Lai (Sohn des Komponisten) wählten rund zehn DJs aus, darunter bekannte Vertreter der French Touch-Szene, die für Sammlungen wie Hôtel Costes bekannt sind. Diese Künstler wurden mit der Aufgabe betraut, die Werke von Francis Lai neu zu interpretieren. Die DJs, die oft weniger bekannte Stücke auswählten, überraschen mit persönlichen Entscheidungen. So wählte Play Paul (Bruder von Guy-Manuel von Daft Punk) „Robert & Robert“, da es das letzte Stück war, das er mit seinem Vater hörte. Auch Philippe Cohen Solal von Gotan Project wählte „L’Amour est bien plus fort que nous“ als Epigraph auf dem Grabstein seiner Eltern.

Tame Impala’s fifth full-length album ‘Deadbeat’. On it, Parker sculpts a collection of wickedly potent club-psych explorations as a vehicle for some of his most direct, brain-wormy songwriting to date, recasting Tame Impala as a kind of future primitive rave act in the process.

Deadbeat sounds like the work of an artist with a levelled-up mastery and bristles with a revitalized energy for experimentation. 12 songs crafted with a newfound embrace of spontaneity for the renowned perfectionist. How that manifests is a distinct minimalism and crunch to many of the tracks, with a clutch of crucial details, timbres and textures that add an ineffably new dimension to the sound, as well as a richer, more playful vocal range than ever.

Effortlessly picking up from their excellent demonstration cassette, it sees the band refining their sound even further. An audio amalgamation combining the profoundness of early Ulver, with the gloom of old Katatonia and exalted boldness of Fields of the Nephilim, thus adding unique elements of nostalgia and atmosphere to their own melodic interplay of guitars and excellent musical framework.

The album contains strong signs of a band that knew at a young age how to draw their canvas. Very Scandinavian in nature, and influenced by the American landscape of the Pacific Northwest, it firmly put Agalloch on the map and raised eyebrows about what a band from North America would be capable of. As a person that grew up checking out records based on their cover-artwork alone, this album is particularly notable for such an experience, considering the wooden cover with a gold emblazoned logo engraved. This is music that glorifies the night sky, envisions campfire magic, heralds nature over humans, arcane arts & poetry, and worships the beauty of a crackling fireplace. It could be the soundtrack for a lone wanderer striving through a wintry storm, only to end up knocking on a faded
wooden door to find shelter in a desolate cabin. In many ways the sound of forlorn times.

THE CULT 1994 ALBUM FROM THE ENIGMATIC NORWEGIAN BLACKENED DOOMSTERS.
PRESENTED ON VINYL FOR THE FIRST TIME. Carpathian Full Moon formed in Norway in 1992 & was responsible for the sole full-length album, ‘Serenades In Blood Minor’; considered somewhat of a lost classic of melodic Scandinavian blackened doom. The style was reminiscent of acts such as Ophthalamia, as opposed to the more traditional & conventional style of black metal which was sweeping Europe at the time. ‘Serenades In Blood Minor’ was originally released on Avantgarde Music in 1994 & showcased refined musicianship as well as an eclectic mix of influences, whilst incorporating elements of progressive music into the compositions to give a rich texture throughout (members went on to form the more prog rock based act, Julia Dream). A darkly atmospheric opus which evoked the grandiose nature of black metal, but with a more melodic & often sombre doom core, ‘Serenades In Blood Minor’ saw Carpathian Full Moon sculpting an identity of their own with this release, before eventually splitting up. ‘Serenades In Blood Minor’ was recorded & mixed in October & November 1993, at Waterfall Studios in Oslo & is presented for the first time on the vinyl format. "

Die schottische Folk-Punk-Indie-Band Brògeal veröffentlicht am 17. Oktober das Debütalbum „Tuesday Paper Club“ über Play It Again Sam. „Tuesday Paper Club“ vermischt Romantik, Verlust, Nostalgie und Unfug und kreiert einen Genre-Mix der kurz vor dem Siedepunkt steht. Das Album ist vollgepackt mit Instrumenten wie Akkordeon, Banjo, Bouzouki, Mandoline und einer flotten Penny Whistle. Es verbindet alte Folk-Traditionen mit dem Indie-Gefühl der Gen Z und kreiert einen Sound, der angesichts der Dunkelheit des 21. Jahrhunderts lacht, singt und tanzt.

Das Album wurde im Black Bay Studio, in einer ehemaligen Fischverarbeitungsfabrik auf der Isle of Lewis aufgenommen, mit einem atemberaubenden Blick auf die Bucht. Aufgenommen haben die fünf Bandmitglieder das Album zusammen mit dem irischen Produzenten Richie Kennedy, der schon mit Künstler*innen wie The Libertines, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Dua Lipa und U2 gearbeitet hat.

Eine halbe Dekade nach der Veröffentlichung ihres Albums "Anak Ko" (2019) hat sich Melina Duterte, alias Jay Som, sich selbst und ihren Erinnerungen geöffnet und Songs geschrieben, die den Klang ihrer Jugend wieder aufleben lassen, und dabei ihre Erfahrung als Musikerin, Produzentin und Performerin einfließen lassen. Kein vorheriges Jay-Som-Album klingt so wie "Belong", ein packendes 11-Song-Set über Selbstdefinition und Zugehörigkeit, das zwischen kraftvollen Power-Pop-Hits und verschwommenen Balladen, zwischen elektronischen Kuriositäten und aufheiternden Hymnen schwebt.

Melina wuchs mit Alternative-Rock außerhalb von San Francisco auf und lernte als Teenager die Hits des Pop-Punk/Emo der frühen 2000er auswendig. Passenderweise ist es Jim Adkins (Jimmy Eat World), einer dieser Kindheitshelden, der bei "Float" die backing vocals übernimmt. Während Hayley Williams sanfte Harmonien auf dem schwungvollen "Past Lives" beisteuert und Lexi Vega (Mini Trees) zu "Cards On The Table" beiträgt, sind diese drei Jay Soms allererste Gastsänger*innen und repräsentieren Dutertes Bestreben, mit Menschen ihres Vertrauens Neues auszuprobieren.

Seit ihrem letzten Album hat Melina beschlossen, sich selbst und ihrem lebenslangen Interesse am Recording etwas zu gönnen. Mit dem Kauf einer alten Neve-Konsole nahm sie sich vor, mehr zu werden als nur ihre eigene Tontechnikerin zu Hause. Fünf Jahre später kann sie nun auf eine umfangreiche Liste an Produktions- und Mixing-Credits zurückblicken, darunter auf Lucy Dacus’ neuestem Album "Forever Is A Feeling", Gastauftritte an der Seite von Troye Sivan, No Rome und beabadoobee, einen Beitrag zum Soundtrack von A24s "I Saw The TV Glow" und einen Grammy für ihre Arbeit an "The Record" von boygenius, der Band, der sie später als Tourmitglied beitrat.

Mark Fell inaugurates his new label – The National Centre for Mark Fell Studies – with his first solo electronic material in years; a slinky, ravishing volley of unique dance drills that have been in the works for over a decade, feeling somehow like Derek Bailey dissecting Singeli, or Autechre and Hermeto Pascoal dancing in hyperspace. There’s nothing else quite like it.

Back on the floor for the first time since dealing a pair of deep house 12”s with DJ Sprinkles, sending a contemporary classic in »Protogravity« with Errorsmith, plus a lauded collab with Gábor Lázár – all in 2015 – Fell taps back into core club concerns last explored to this uncompromising extent on his string of »Sensate Focus« EPs released between 2012–2013. He’s hardly been slacking since then, with a slew of far-reaching avant collabs with everyone from Rian Treanor to Limpe Fuchs, Okkyung Lee to Pat Thomas, Explore Ensemble to Will Guthrie – each one blurring distinctions between producer, composer, and conductor.

The »Nite Closures« EP is worth the wait – and then some. As ever, Fell manages to retain a highly distinctive, instantly identifiable sound while also tracing and mapping new bends in the continuum. His exploration of contemporary styles and patterns is here distilled and articulated with a rare, daring playfulness and sinuous intricacy – for over half an hour he flows from frantic to almost emotional at the drop of a snare. Trust it’s not your everyday / everynight club music, with an asymmetric angularity bound to wrong-foot fresher feet, but also the type of absolutely future-facing, skewed machine funk that clubs are crying out for, even if they don’t quite realise it.

As someone who’s witnessed the dominance of colouring-book Jive Bunny DJs recycle tested ideas ad infinitum, the message is a firm do-one to myopic ravers in »Nite Closures«. From the displaced anticipations tested in its extended dub and ravishing, tweaked polymetrics on its version, through a »Large Modulos #3« teeming with organismic details, to the hair-kissing swang of »auchterhouse (inversion)« and its clipped, cascading 2.1-step reprise, Fell offers thrilling new options for the loosey-gooseyest dancers at each turn. For us, it’s perhaps his greatest record this century.

Chicago-based indie punks Sincere Engineer started as a solo acoustic punk act playing dive bars and open mics. Singer/guitarist/songwriter, Deanna Belos, decided to forego dental school for punk music, trading in teeth for corn dogs (as referenced in her fan favorite song "Corn Dog Sonnet No. 7"), and touring the world with bands like Hot Mulligan, Alkaline Trio, The Menzingers, and Joyce Manor. In 2020, she released Bless My Psyche, her first sophomore album on independent powerhouse Hopeless Records. Featuring the Sirius XM Faction hit "Trust Me," the album explored themes of insecurity, failure, and coming of age and was built for gut wrenching sing-a-longs. With the upcoming Cheap Grills, Sincere Engineer now takes a massive leap forward with catchy melodies, witty and sharp lyrics, and the sincerity of a person that wants to do the right thing in a world that doesn't always reward that. Working with producer Mike Sapone (Taking Back Sunday, Brand New), Sincere Engineer/Deanna Belos has crafted an album that sees her emerge as a face of the new generation of melodic punk. Talulah’s Tape is the debut offering from magnetic Midwest-jangle collective Good Flying Birds. Across a patchwork mixtape of stripped-down home recordings that span the independent-guitar spectrum, the band delivers colorful, intricate pop songs perched between the immediacy of DIY punk and the intimate sweetness of twee. Breakbeats, memes, and noise glue everything together, making the album feel as chronically online as it is timeless.

Originally released on cassette in January 2025 by Midwest-punk legend Martin Meyers’s Rotten Apple label, the tape sold more than 300 copies in under a month and quickly became an out-of-print and coveted item. Meyers called it “certified catnip for popheads.” Now, with a refined track list and a fresh master from Greg Obis, Talulah’s Tape returns on LP and CD via Carpark and Smoking Room in October 2025.

While production and approach vary, a through-line of sensitive self-contemplation rests on bright, scrappy guitars and hyperactive melodic bass. Opener “Down on Me” rides a buoyant bass line while jangling guitars frame reflections on overcoming trauma: “I see you in the mirror every time I cry / I hear your voice every time I try.” Next, the guitars trade twinkling counter-melodies on “I Care for You,” pairing sugary, lovestruck lyrics with effervescent strums: “You catch me when I fall / You build me up so tall.”

The rosy grin occasionally twists into a wicked smirk. “Dynamic” warns, “You used to paint the face, but now you’re just the clown,” while “Glass” asks, “Is it lonely at the top when everyone follows the trend, and you hold the pen?” Both tracks brim with sparkling guitar interplay. By the closing, nearly five-minute “Last Straw,” Good Flying Birds stand far beyond conventional indie-pop or 4-track punk, unveiling a roller-coaster of unpredictable changes, vocal harmonies, and instrumental cross-talk.

Altogether, Talulah’s Tape is a pastel-yellow, candy-coated shell filled with thoughtful juxtapositions and melodic experiments. Standing on the same ground as idiosyncratic songwriters like Connie Converse and Daniel Johnston, Good Flying Birds find sweetness in sadness, tear stains on a colorful flower-print couch. Simultaneously, it’s packed with the scratchy guitars and vibrant rhythms of Scottish guitar groups like The Pastels, Orange Juice, and Josef K. It’s a tremendous opening statement from a band just getting started.
