House Of Roots has been born out of a partnership that’s blossomed since David first touched down at Defected Croatia in 2025, with his performance becoming one of the defining moments of the entire festival. After returning to Croatia for this summer’s festival finale, Rodigan - this time armed with the House Of Roots remixes - delivered another landmark set, underlining exactly why he remains such a revered DJ & selector.

The House Of Roots project reimagines Defected’s rich catalogue through the lens of reggae, dub and drum & bass in a celebration of music genres that have continually inspired one another throughout the decades.

Enlisting legendary drum & bass originator Shy FX, jungle maximalist CLIPZ, and fabled dub reggae producer & engineer, Prince Fatty, to remix three of the label’s seminal records - Fish Go Deep’s 2006 classic ‘The Cure & The Cause’, Soul Central’s ‘Strings Of Life’ (2004) and The Vision’s ‘Heaven’ (2019) - House Of Roots marks some of David’s most important and intriguing curatorial work yet.

Das selbstbetitelte Debüt-Demo erschien Ende 2024 zunächst bei Godz Ov War Productions und war in der ersten Kassettenauflage nahezu sofort vergriffen – eine zweite folgte, mit demselben Ergebnis. „Visteria“ bietet vier Tracks plus Intro in 15 Minuten: kompakte, furiose Statements, getragen von rohem Riffing und Hönoratas intensivem Schreigesang.

The fourteenth release on Early Morning brings Roy Rosenfeld back to the label for the first time since its second. The two years in between have not had a quiet stretch in them: new singles every few months across 2025 and 2026, and a touring year running from Mexico City and New York through Paris, Barcelona, Ibiza and Amsterdam to Montreal, Santiago and Buenos Aires. He is back in New York on the day this record goes global, and in Amsterdam for ADE later the same month. What arrives here is two long-form pieces, 15 minutes and 15 seconds together, both built on patience and both written for rooms where there is time to stretch out.
New Life takes its time. A full minute passes in suspended texture before the groove arrives, and when it does it carries the weight of everything that was withheld. The track moves in patient cycles, stepping away briefly at its midpoint before opening into an extended central passage where the rhythm withdraws and the harmony is left exposed. The return is the payoff, and Rosenfeld holds it to the final bar rather than letting it fade.
Seven Three Eight begins where New Life arrives. It is in motion from the first bar, with no preamble and no easing in. The low end breathes in long swells beneath a top layer that keeps shifting, and two breakdowns punctuate the arc without ever surrendering the momentum. It closes at full stride, running the seven minutes and thirty-eight seconds its title names.
Two tracks, near identical in length and opposite in approach. EARLY014 is a record about pacing, and about a producer who trusts the long form to do the work.

Der Musiker, Sänger und Produzent hinterlässt der Welt ein beeindruckendes Gesamtwerk mit 25 Soloalben und vielen weiteren Livealben, Kompilationen, Soundtracks und Gastauftritten. »Legacy (The Very Best Of David Bowie)« heißt der neue Best-of-Sampler, der jetzt noch einmal einen Blick auf die größten Hits seines Lebens wirft – von Klassikern bis hin zu seinen letzten Aufnahmen. Natürlich darf die Sammlung dabei auch nicht auf seine größten Hits verzichten, darunter »Let’s Dance«, »Space Oddity«, »Starman«, »Ziggy Stardust« und viele weitere. Mit »Lazarus« hat es auch ein Song von seinem letzten Album »Blackstar« auf die Kompilation geschafft. The evolution of Andreas Tilliander's moniker TM404 has reached its third stage. The first TM404 album was a heavily self-restricted concept album, live recorded with classic Roland machines. The subsequent album had a more playful vibe, shaped by Tilliander's extensive live touring. This third TM404 album on Kontra-Musik simply tells the story of what he's been up to since. The third part of a musical diary, initiated in 2013. The TM404 venture might have started out as a dreamy acid dub project, more suited for the chill-out than the main floor. But by popular demand Tillander found himself touring big clubs around the globe and the TM404 sound adapted organically. As a result, the album features tracks like Vactro and Rymdeko: fast paced acidic techno tracks in the same vein as classic Plus 8 releases, but with more space echo. Much more. But never fear, fans of the classic warm and bubbling TM404 sound. You'll certainly get yours as well. A substantial portion of this album was recorded in a studio flat in Berlin as part of an artist residency. For obvious reasons, Tilliander could only bring a small portion of his studio gear to this German sanctuary. As a consequence, this album has a more stripped down vibe than its predecessors, which creates more space for Tilliander's glowing melodies. The last track on the album, a loving homage to Kontra-Musik's label boss, is a sublime example. And for the Instagram generation, here's the short version: The album is called Syra. That translates to Acid. You're welcome.

Reboot Record Label presents Atmosphere EP by Juzel The Argentine producer from Mar del Plata brings his refined touch to Reboot with a release that balances warmth and restraint. Musically, Atmosphere EP sits mainly within the house spectrum, weaving Balearic warmth, progressive momentum and minimal precision into a body of work made for both sunrise terraces and late-night floors. The EP also features two contrasting remixes. Anastasia Zems, the Lisbon-based artist celebrated for her instinct-driven mix of trance, progressive house and experimental electronica, delivers a prog-house reinterpretation full of emotional depth and hypnotic energy. On the flip, Manchester's Aiden Francis, a rising force from the city's underground known for fusing tech, progressive and rolling tribal elements, turns in a techhouse remix built for peak-time release.

UK tech house pioneer Dexter debuts on Endell Street with a release deeply rooted in London’s underground tech house history. For years, Tangent Boy has circulated as a mythical weapon, passed hand to hand through London’s underground and closely guarded by those in the know. This marks its first ever vinyl release. On the B-side, the sought after Funk Warped finally returns newly remastered, preserving its original grit while sharpening its analog edge.

Steeped in the dub-tech traditions of early London, this is a masterclass in restrained, functional sound design, capturing a defining moment in time from an artist who helped write the genre’s vocabulary.

With BALADA, MoBlack continues this journey through a collection of tracks rooted in Afro House rhythms and Brazilian-inspired influences. Across four distinct productions, the compilation explores the meeting point between percussive energy, expressive vocals and melodic detail, highlighting artists who approach the sound from different angles while sharing a common sense of groove and atmosphere.

Should you happen to have been paying attention to progressive house and trance in the mid 1990s, you may well be familiar with Brendan McCarthy's most celebrated release as Aquartherium, 1994's Full Moon EP. It was a massive record across Europe but also found favour in San Francisco's freewheeling free party scene. 'Full Moon' itself is especially potent - an all-action chunk of hallucinatory progressive house/trance fusion full of star-burst synth motifs, bubbly electronics and ambient techno sonics - though the heavier, bleep-sporting, Brown Album-era Orbital flex of 'Luci In Deep Hypnosis' is just as good.

Few contemporary labels even come close to the output and influence of Lempuyang in terms of dub techno. Albums, 12"s and EPs come thick and fast and the latest is the first part of the fourth in the Pura Lempuyang series, which offers a glimpse at what they do best. Upwellings begins with Maurizio-style, smoky dub techno before Rothchord ups the drive with a more forceful kick. Paul Simmons's 'Burial (Natty Haffi Dread)' reflects the traditional roots of dub with a more 70s style cut, Another Channel slows to a crawl with an eerily empty arrangement and Inner Echo drives things home with a timeless fusion of molten dub chords and cuddly kicks.

His music has found its way onto labels such as Large Music,Subtractive, Moods N Grooves, Kolour Recordings, iRecords, Phoenix Recordings, Viva Recordings, Guesthouse Music, Kingstreet Sounds, Pogo House Records, Plastik People, Spacedisco Records and his very own labels Grin Music/Grin Trax (Just too name a few). His cut "Every Night" instantly draws you in and hold keeps you moving using a thick bassline and kick pattern, key stabs and a vocal that binds it all together. Hot on the heels of the Tokyo bliss and Funk Tide sets, Tokyo-based DJ Notoya delivers Tokyo Pulse a new juicy selection of Funk and Modern soul recorded in Tokyo in the 70s and 80s. Most tracks here are making their debut outside of Japan and the album, like its predecessors, has been designed by Manuel Sepulveda (Optigram) and is annotated by DJ Notoya. The audio has been newly mastered in Tokyo by Nippon Columbia Records and remastered for vinyl by Colorsound in Paris.

Jenkins hat diese Prinzipien bei den Aufnahmen zu ,& Friends" angewendet und langjährige Musikpartner wie Hudson Whitlock, Darvid Thor und Callum Riley (Karate Boogaloo), Lachlan Stuckey und Jethro Curtin (Surprise Chef), Lewis Coleman und Lena Douglas (The Cactus Channel) zusammen, um unkonventionelle Arrangements für drei Gitarren, Klavier, Streichersynthesizer, Hammondorgel, Schlagzeug und Bass zu verwirklichen, wobei Jenkins selbst den Bass und die Produktion übernahm. Named after the tendency to impose familiar likenesses, such as faces, on random - usually inanimate - objects, Pareidolia is Jake Muir's way of interpreting the consonances between so-called “ambient” music and extreme heavy metal. Extracting the headiest, most atmospheric sections from hundreds of death metal and black metal tracks, Muir plays the role of both DJ and electroacoustic composer, concocting a lysergic elixir of fractal distortions and prolonged, decelerated riffs that slowly evaporates into iridescent vapor. If there's any trace of the original sources left, Muir makes sure that residue is subtly bewildering, like clouds in the sky that form imposing, larger than life images, or trampled bracken that falls into the shape of “trve kvlt” insignia.

The idea for the album materialized when Muir was working on 2022's Talisman, his collaborative album with multi-instrumentalist Evan Caminiti. Processing guitar for the first time, Muir began to unpack his long relationship with rock music and its Escher-like maze of sub-genres, from the tech metal he obsessed over as a teenager to Loop and Main's drone-y, textured variants. Scraping the internet for unconventional contemporary metal albums, he stumbled across music that seemed to hover between different realms, merging its frenetic, noisy sections with psychedelic interludes that harmonize with classic industrial and avant-garde music, material like :zoviet*france:, Nocturnal Emissions and Z'EV.

Cacciamali is an exploration of diegetic sound, folk chants and traditional rhythms and instrumentation building upon Milan based Rosso Polare’s last outing Campo Amaro and the subsequent departure of co-founder Anna Vezzosi from the group. Where the 2024 album incorporated a heavy use of folklore as a new tool, Cacciamali explores the influence further by bringing in a host of collaborative players including Italian avant-garde veteran Riccardo Sinigaglia, sound artist and researcher HMOT (Stas Shärifulla) and Persian/Parisian electro-acoustic musician Cinna Peyghamy.

‘Scoff Back Sickness’, as the title loosely translates, utilises the same approach, one based on non-hierarchical authorship and leaning heavily on field recordings that both contrast and blend with the tonal material, focusing on biophony, landscape and environmental audio as compositional material.
