As you all know Dax has been a core member of EarToGround right from the beginning. It all began with his and Chris Stanford's jointly produced track 'Programm' on ETG001.
From then on in he has worked tirelessly at his East London studio, climbing through the ranks to become the very respected and some would say inspirational producer he is now. Over the last year he has very much honed in and developed his now unique sound and recently released on much respected, high quality labels such as Deeply Rooted.
You could say his own EP on ETG has been a long time coming but we like to think ETG010 is what he has been building up to, some of his best work to date. We will let you decide

Only released in October 2006, Anders Trentemøller's stunning debut-album - The Last Resort' already evolved into one of the most successful independent albums of the year. Raving reviews all over the place, various elections as - album of the year' and solid playlists at the radios express the huge interest in the fantastic album. While 2006 has been topped of with a tour through Australia, the first Trentemøller highlight in 2007 will be the release of - Moan', the second single from the album. For the a-side Trentemøller himself created a brilliant remix of the - Moan'-Vocal Version, which has been released on the Bonus-CD of the limited edition album only. Trentemøller managed to keep the mystic melancholic vibe of the track featuring the vocals of danish talent Ane Trolle, but adds punshy drums, screaming synths and some more guitars to guarantee serious dancefloor-action. Radioslave aka Matt Edwards aka Rekid aka Quite Village, on of the most in demand remix artists at the moment (Moby, Booka Shade, Justice, Peace Division, Pet Shop Boys, Joakim etc) contributed a great remix on the flipside. Slowly building over reduced drumpatterns their mix culminates into a manic wall of sound. While Poker Flat 81 features the vocal versions of both Trentemøller's and Radioslve's remixes, the instrumental and dub versions will be released simultaneously
"Relax Your Body" is a killer slice of narcotic, mid-tempo Italian heaviness from way back in the late 80's.
Coming out on Italy's Full Time label, an Italo Disco imprint that embraced the burgeoning house scene in Italy, and finding favor across Europe and the UK with DJ's like Andrew Weatherall, it's KLF sampling groove and spoken, authoritative, mantra-like lyrics no doubt sound tracked some of the headiest moments in the corners of darkened, dry ice filled dance-floors throughout 1989 and beyond.
"Relax Your Body" is a record that still sounds incredible today, it's still in the bag of contemporary DJ's like Ricardo Villalobos and gets regular airings from those unafraid to inject some old school into their DJ sets.
A true Italian House classic, now re-mastered and re-pressed in conjunction with Full Time Records and made available again for 2014. Essential.

On the West Coast, gangsta rap held sway in hip-hop as the 21st century began. The alternative and conscious rap music of the early-to-mid-90s had all but faded into the underground. The scene was set for a comeback, perhaps as a backlash to the perceived violence and misogyny of gangsta rap's content. Leading the resurgence of alternative hip-hop were groups like Jurassic 5, and recentsignees to Capitol Records, a West coast trio that had been building steam underground since the early 90s called Dilated Peoples. Anticipation was high for the release of the debut album from Evidence, Rakaa, and DJ Babu. (Of the influential turntablist collective Beat Junkies.) When The Platform arrived in May of 2000 it was met with critical and underground acclaim, as well as affording Dilated Peoples their first Billboard chartings. It featured a back-to-basics sound with a heavy debt to the old-school hip-hop ethos, the kind of sound that harkened back to the early days of legends like De La Soul & A Tribe Called Quest. Hits like "No Retreat" and "The Platform" were bolstered by Evidence & Rakaa's subtle, abstract wit, and swift, adroit wordplay, while DJ Babu provided production chops and dextrous scratches. On The Platform the trio were joined by the likes of B-Real, Tha Alkoholiks, Everlast, Planet Asia, and many more providing guest vocals, while boasting guest production from The Alchemist & Kut Masta Kurt, among others. Since its 2000 release this influential record, which heralded the return of alternative hip-hop, has never seen a vinyl reissue. With that, Get On Down-always on top of giving the greatest hip-hop albums their due-is proud to present this re-release of The Platform. The rhymes are still fresh, the production is still pristine, and the album is now back on vinyl for the first time in 17 years.

A fully remastered reissue from the original tapes of The Fresh Band's highly sought-after 1984 classic 'Come Back Lover'. Produced by The Strikers' Darryl Gibbs and mixed to maximum effect by the one and only Tony Humphries, this super cool disco boogie floor-burner made it big in the Underground dance clubs of Chicago & New York, receiving heavy rotation from legendary DJs like David Mancuso, Larry Levan and Ron Hardy. This special edition from Best Italy contains for the first time all the four versions mixed by the legendary Tony Humphries: including the astounding Humphries Vocal, Dub, Remix and the rarest Dub Remix which moves towards a deeper, headier groove, with atmospheric echoing vocals and mind-blowing piano breaks.

Pressed On Clear Vinyl! To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of UGK's first album, Get On Down goes the extra mile, presenting it for the first time ever on vinyl. AND 2LP clear vinyl at that, giving the strutting, funky grooves the chance to really stretch out on your system. Back in 1992, Southern hip-hop was still proving to the world that it could sustain a fan base that was chiefly raised on rap from New York and LA. The Geto Boys and 2 Live Crew had made strong cases by the earliest '90s, and Pimp C and Bun B were ready to make their own. Most of the trunk-bumping bass comes from drum programs and basic sampling on these tunes - in later years they would build their sound into something even fuller and deeper. Self-produced with additional work from Houston locals Bernie Bismark and Shetoro Henderson, the tracks here are minimal, slow and menacing, which matched their lyrical approach quite nicely. You can hear the beginnings of the group's true greatness in these early lyrical workouts - several taken from the regional cassette-only EP The Southern Way that got them signed to Jive - with tales of street hustles, relationships and self-reliance in a world stacked against them. They may have been done early-on, but that doesn't mean they aren't crucial to UGK's legacy - cases in point being the three singles: Something Good', a charismatic update to Bill Withers' Use Me Up', and Pocket Full Of Stones' (the latter featured on the Menace II Society soundtrack). Beyond the singles, deeper cuts like I'm So Bad,' Feels Like I'm The One Who's Doin' Dope' and Cramping My Style' made it clear to the world that this crew had the attitude and charisma to make even bigger waves in the years to come.

Bronky Frumu Rehand Despite all the collaborations on last year's Amygdala by Pampa cult leader DJ Koze, there was still one recurring comment from the public: The album still had DJ Koze's trademark stamp all over it. That is why have been taking the proper steps to rectify this problem, offering a remix series, to further disassociate DJ Koze from this otherwise respectable assortment of songs. Here is the second installment. First up is Roman Flügel, co-founder of the legendary label powerhouse Ongaku/Klang/Playhouse, not to mention his more recent releases on Clone and Live At Robert Johnson. We have no idea what kind of app he used, but somehow he transformed the title track 'Amygdala' from a laid-back, wind-chiming electro-pop number into a clock-working tech-house fairy tale. Roman wisely and tastefully retains the original guest spot from Milosh (of the duo Rhye), offering a grittier backdrop for his lulling vocal delivery. Next comes Robag Whrume, who is no stranger to any Pampa fan, having released an album and a mix CD with us, aside from his countless other works. Here he has taken the pleasant puffiness of DJ Koze's 'Nices Wölkchen' and incubated it in a deep house cocoon. The witch-shifted voice of guest singer Apparat is given a new life, hovering amidst a mesmerizing mechanical groove. As always, there's nothing formulaic about Robag's formula as he serves up little moments of magic.

The Croatian duo PEZNT pay homage to arguably the best meal of the day, 'Breakfast'. Sasha continues to make this year his own as he drops his debut EP on Watergate, 'GameOvr'. The EP features two original tracks, including the long-awaited 'Trigonometry', and first class remixes from Cassy and La Fleur. After his recent critically acclaimed sell-out live shows at the Barbican and his 'Out Of Time' EP on Kompakt, not to mention gearing up for his RESISTANCE residency with John Digweed in Ibiza, Sasha officially confirms his debut release on Watergate Records. 'Trigonometry' has been a highlight in Sasha's sets in recent months and has sparked many a heated debate online, from excited pleas for a Track ID, to urgent demands for a release date. The track is as ethereal as it is compelling, constantly building up to the sublime break down and those iconic chords that have left ravers spellbound worldwide. Swedish born Berlin-based La Fleur puts her stamp on the remix, keeping the riff but adding gravitas with a rhythmic bassline. She's fast become a key player on the house and techno circuit, with a string of releases on the likes of Cocoon, Watergate, and Sasha's own Last Night On Earth imprint. 'GameOvr' shows the producer's tougher side; a strong techno track in keeping with Sasha's constant focus on the future, always exploring new directions, though his signature groove is still on board. Revered Panorama Bar resident Cassy, whose stunning album 'Donna' was one of 2016's outstanding releases, turns her hand to remixing the title track, delivering a harder edged driving cut with a heavier kick drum, echoing chords and hypnotic percussion. This EP marks yet another creative landmark in this, one of the most fruitful and exciting phases in Sasha's distinguished career.
Funkadelic have created an enduring legacy, and the power of their impact is visceral in Detroit. Their records not only played with genre, but possessed a diabolical sense of humour that led to music domination by the late 70s with Parliament, Funkadelic, Parlet, Bootsy's Rubber Band and the Brides Of Funkenstein all releasing albums the same year for two years in a row.
The music itself is beyond stereotype, but equally huge is that they were a black band not allowing themselves to be limited by anyone else's notions of who they could be, having a massive impact on the next generation of Detroit music, Detroit Techno.
But more than just Techno, it is a freedom of thinking that extends beyond boxes, so we included all sorts of today's generation of Detroit musicians and producers to show the wide range of music that was Funkadelic and how these ideas are still contemporary, they endure and inspire.

The contributions of the late Detroit producer James DeWitt Yancey –better known to the world as J Dilla to the world of hip-hop can't be overstated, and nowhere is his legacy more apparent than his work as a member of Slum Village. A founding member of the trio, (Alongside rappers T3 and Baatin) Dilla provided the group's distinctly esoteric, free-wheeling sound, built around winding basslines, quirky drumbeats, subtle low-end frequencies, and classic jazz & soul samples. Against the backdrop of Dilla's rich production, T3 and Baatin's free-flowing style of rhyming would also earn wide critical praise, leading to comparisons as the successors to A Tribe Called Quest. (A label they themselves have rejected.) It's on Slum Village's 1997 studio debut, Fan-Tas-Tic Vol. 1, that all these elements come together in the most proficient manner. An instant hit among Detroit's underground hip-hop scene, the album seemed to combine all the best elements of the reigning alternative and gangsta styles of hip-hop into one cohesive style that was a hit among critics. Fan-Tas-Tic's influence extended far beyond Detroit, as its sound heavily influenced the sounds of D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, and The Roots just to name a few. (Roots drummer ?uestlove has even declared that: "Hands down this album birthed the neo-soul movement.") Ne'Astra Media Group now presents the album reissued on vinyl, for the first time in several years. Every wobbling bass note of J Dilla's production has been preserved and every freestyle line of T3 and Baatin has been re-created, to maintain the legacy of a late-90s rap classic, and the legend of one of hip-hop's greatest beatsmiths.
The super group Deltron 3030 is composed of producer Dan the Automator, rapper Del tha Funkee Homosapien and DJ Kid Koala and sometimes features guest artists who also take on varying futuristic pseudonyms. Originally released in 2000 on the now-defunct 75ARK record label, this hip hop concept album was released the same year as the Gorillaz' first 12" and is on a similar plane. Following the release of Deltron 3030, all three members participated in the Gorillaz' self-titled debut album. With Del aka Deltron Zero on vocals, Dan the Automator aka The Cantankerous Captain Aptos on production, and Kid Koala aka Skiznoid the Boy Wonder on turntables, this album takes the listener on a paranoid journey set in a dystopian year 3030 dealing with viruses, the apocalypse, an oppressive government, and a war waged against a huge company called the Corporate Bank of Time that rules the universe, all to the well-crafted and consistent musical backing of the Automator. Appearances by Damon Albarn (The Gorillaz, Blur), Prince Paul, Peanut Butter Wolf, DJ Money Mark, Paul Barman, Mark Bell (Bjork, production), Sean Lennon, and Mr. Lif compliment Del's vocal style and add the right amount of flavor to this classic period piece.

The cultural phenomenon that is the Wu-Tang cannot accurately be described without referencing one of the pillars in the Clan's discography, Chef Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx remains firmly planted as one of the defining triumphs in their artistic legacy. The oft referred "Purple Tape", has been cited and debated by many as the greatest Wu-Tang solo project to date and a remains a bullet point in any discussion involving the greatest "Cocaine Rap" or "Street Hop" albums of all time. Raekwon's narrative, plays out like a movie script from the violent, drug fueled, underbelly of New York City's criminal landscape, intricately woven over instrumentals from the legendary mastermind behind the Wu-Tang Clan, The RZA. Even the album's main feature "Tony Starks aka Ghostface Killer", referred to as such rather described as a "guest star" appearing on 12 of the albums 18 tracks. It should be noted that while the Only Built 4 Cuban Linx did produce a string of successful singles, such as "Ice Cream", "Incarcerated Scarfaces", and "Criminology", like all classic cinema, the album was intentionally engineered to be appreciated in one sitting, played from beginning to end. In continuing with it's proud tradition of honoring historically significant hip hop albums, Get On Down is honored to present Raekwon's "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx" for the first time ever on double translucent purple vinyl housed in a high density resealable poly bag. This edition features for the first time ever on vinyl, the formerly CD only bonus track, "North Star (Jewels)". And if that wasn't enough, the entire album also features completely enhanced and painstakingly remastered audio. This is the definitive must-own vinyl edition of Raekwon's masterpiece.
Anton Klint hails from Sweden and likes to make music at night. In his first release for Hivern he shows once again his knack for producing highly amusing electronic dancing sounds. Both of his tracks in 'Lyckliga Mnniskor' are twisted, playful and hard to pin down, which gives them a unique freshness. The title track is a schizoid take on tribalistic house, in which playful percussion layers and nervous synth sequences provide the background to its menacing vocal sample. 'Djembe Unchained' is, as its title suggests, still heavy on the percussion, but these are generously processed through delays to build a spaced-out and dizzy atmosphere. The track gets the remix treatment by our long-time favourite Black Merlin, who sharpens the beat to invoke mystic forces and push 'Djembe Unchained' into slo-mo cosmic techno territories. The artwork is by Barcelona-based artist Xavier Marin.

Dresden-resident and long-time bigbait collaborator Scherbe takes control of the remix. In his highly significant Slowhouse-style, he turns the original into a lightfoot dancefloor bomb with trademark MPC-grooves slowly pioneering the way for this huge and wet clap, that's bursting every club speaker into pieces. After the break a sparkling synth arpeggio comes in, abducting the dancer into unknown yet addictive discoid heights.

Straight forward from the beginning, the title track of this EP opens dj-friendly with huge kicks and jazzy hihat patterns. In an unbelievably smooth stop-and-go manner, a deep bassline pairs itself with an almost sucked-out clap compressing everything into an amalgam of UK-history-laden deephouse funk for every smoked out latenight workout.

Last but not least we have de:pot, the crazy beat-wizard from Gera. His remix doesn't even bother to stay close to the original. Instead, inscrutable, de- quantized patterns wipe over deconstructed sample melodies twisted with his highly educated trademark sound to a completely new definition of German dopehouse science. This one is for the sophisticated headphone connoisseur who likes his b2 sides slow and dirrrty!
Official remastered limited edition of this down-tempo disco heaven from one-hit wonders Byron. Originally released in 1985 on the Italian label Golden Sound, 'Too Much' is a must for any discerning Balearic record bag. A side contains the original vocal version and on the B side there is the original instrumental plus the warmest Remix version previously available only on the rarest Byron Album from 1985.

1987... for those lucky enough visiting a decent import shop in that year could have seen a US import record with pink label showing a darts board with small text next to the picture saying "Target records" and "Joe R Lewis". Pretty sure nobody at that time would be alarmed by this... reading further it said....1. Love Of My Own... Written and produced by Joe R Lewis... in even smaller text the label info continued; mixed by Larry Heard! And even that, at that time that would not have ringed a bell, except for maybe a couple of dj's who only just in the last couple months picked up copy of a Mr Fingers record and memorised the writter credits. We're talking the very early days of House music, the pre-internet era where new music and info didnt spread all over the globe within a couple of seconds.... Now more then 30 years later this is a holy grail for worldwide record collectors and house aficionados, still not all info is clear. Rumors go that this record was produced after a recording sessions of Larry Heard and he helped Joe Lewis with the mixdown... but like all good stories there is a cloud of mystery covering up the details!. On the flip side there is one of the best tracks ever produced by Joe Lewis,.... Life Immoreal... a track so elegant and beautiful that it hurts!! Two of the best tracks Chicago House music has to offer in remastered versions taken from the original master tapes on this latest outing of Clone Classic Cuts!!
Originally released in 1982, Anna's cosmic coldwave bomb "Systems Breaking Down" is one of the most mysterious singles of the period. Remarkably, it was released on a major label - RCA - yet very little is known about the shadowy Anna.
Despite being recorded nearly 35 years ago, it still sounds strikingly vital. Both sonically relevant and lyrically prescient, it's hard to imagine a more apposite track to soundtrack the dark days we're currently occupying. A masterful study in dread, describing the gentle collapse of all structures, it is set against a backdrop of eerie, synth-heavy electronics.
Produced by 80s disco-pop mavericks Geraint Hughes and Ken Leray, the A-Side contains the epic synth-pop original, all heart-wrenching atmosphere and haunting vocals.
The B-Side wins again, however. The more uptempo 'Dance Version' is a dubbed out dark-disco tour-de-force, with cut-up vocals drifting in and out of a bassline that throbs like Carpenter's best (think Assault on Precinct 13) and a palette of head-nod minimal wave.
Both sought-after mixes have been remastered for vinyl by Simon Francis and are housed in a replica jacket of the maxi original. Outstanding.
Genetic Funk and Mr V present The Believe EP, a deep, soulful, spoken word groover that gets a sublime make-over from the mighty Atjazz. Jazz injected, ethereal business that instantly dissipates any worries as you float on the hypnotic tones of this celestial track. On the flip a stripped back, tougher beats, bass and vocal led dub for the dancers.
Linda Di Franco only released an album in 1986, "Rise Of The Heart" and it is still considered a Balearic classic. The main tunes are "T.V. Scene" and "My Boss" which extended versions are featured in this official repress remastered from the original tapes. Not to miss!

Strong contender for dance record of the year- Red Rack'em's incredibly wonderful and fantastically wonky, Disco Banger, was rereleased on Classic this year.
After a few months of slowly embedding itself in people subconscious, it returns with new mixes.
First up in the marvellously talented KiNK - Strahil is no stranger to Classic, having made a stamp on the label many years ago with his remix 3rd Face. He's gone from strength to strength with his productions which have been accompanied by his glorious live performances. Kink goes in, heads down with some proper techno Wonk. This is indeed a beast.
On the flip Luke Solomon joins forces with Bristol's very own Eats Everything and Lord Leopard, creating a Bristol 'Circle of Three.' The Luke Eats Leopard edit adds a slight bit of conformity to the drums and the arrangement, without taking out too much of the Wonk but taking it ever so slightly into 'house ' territory.
Overall this is a monstrously Wonky package - and just in time for Xmas too.
To start the year 2014, Stroboscopic Artefacts bring you SA021 - a remixes selection of tracks from Lucy's forthcoming LP Churches Schools and Guns. In presenting four of the album cuts in altered impressions, SA021 helps the label keep on re-examining the timbres, tones and textures of techno.
First up is the unsettled edit of 'Catch Twenty Two' by the young Italian producer Shapednoise. The infamous Heller novel of the same name (though in numerals rather than letters) was a satirical rampage through the futility and tragedy of conflict; this is also a rampage, littered with opaque utterances of sonic thrust, stood stoutly on an unpredictable and emotional structure of aural dissonance. Following this is the Italian maestro Donato Dozzy and his presentation of 'The Illusion of Choice'. The track bounds along like a train through the jungle, powered by a distant rumble and purring synths. Skittering and melodic percussion sounds a little like birds; the drums are made of rawhide, strong, insistent, controlled. Third in line is the remix of 'Laws and Habits' by Milton Bradley. This cut is hypnosis with little regard - not an accident, but effortless. Metallic distortion buzzes like bees across your head, zipping across the top of delicate hi-hats and an elastic groove. This is a walk through the 4am night, appreciative of the glimmering streetlamps, and fearful of nothing. Last is Eomac's rework of 'The Self As Another', bringing the record to a resonant conclusion. One half of label favourite Lakker, the Irish producer begins with a melody line cut from razor-sharp cloth. The pulsating beat is dressed in metallic shimmer, confidently pursuing a dangerous course. And yet there is a pause amid this brief insistence, a moment of perspective, perspicacity. The record considers its place, and asks for contemplation.
With a selection this strong, and of such ideas and identities, this contemplation is surely a worthy vice. This may be a prelude to the full record, but it is a cut made of vehement conviction.
Honey Soundsystem Records (aka HNYTRX) is pleased to present its final twelve inch of 2016, the 'Sensual Works' EP by Beesmunt Soundsystem. Unbeknownst to each other, the Honey crew in San Francisco and the Beesmunt duo in Amsterdam have been brothers from another mother working away in their respective zones for years. A bit of internet sleuthing and the two entities found each other, perplexed by the similarities in namesake and good vibes. Before exchanging a single word, earlier this year David and Luigi of Beesmunt sent Honey some demos. They were a declaration of peace and understanding of sorts and both "sound systems" immediately fell into one. The three tracks romanced all the Honey sensibilities including references to San Francisco 80's Hi-HRG synths, early House drum machine workouts, and melodic lines you can make-out on a dancefloor to. To make the marriage official, Honey enlisted its own Jason Kendig to remix the A-side into a no-nonsense thumper with a heart of gold. We think these tunes are going to become as reliable on the dancefloor as the Sequential Circuits drum sounds and DX7 patches they employ. Whether it be ending sets with the euphoric Blissed Out' or peak-time banging call and response of Playin' Myself', Honey finally shares its best kept secret weapons of the year with the eager public.

Wolfsheim are a synthpop duo from Hamburg, Germany consisting of Markus Reinhardt (music) and Peter Heppner (lyrics and vocals). The band was founded in 1987 by Markus Reinhardt and Pompejo Ricciardi and was named after Meyer Wolfsheim, a fictional character from F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel 'The Great Gatsby'. Ricciardi soon left the band and was replaced by Peter Heppner, a childhood friend of Reinhardt's. Together they produced their first demo tape, Ken Manage', in 1988.
After making a second demo tape, Any But Pretty', in 1989, Wolfsheim applied at various labels until they caught the attention of independent record label Strange Ways Records. They are best known for their debut breakthrough single, "The Sparrows and the Nightingales', the first single to be released on Strange Ways in 1991. The band's musical style takes cues from the 1980s New Romantics, new wave, synthpop, and darkwave. The track's sombre synths were produced by Carlos Peron of Yello. Reinhardt says the lyric was inspired by 'The Great Gatsby', "in the 'onomatopoeic tension' between predator and security." Over six minutes, the narrator describes being lost, unsure of where his life is heading, using highly metaphorical language. On the flip is a brand new remix by German producer Ancient Methods, a pseudonym of Michael 'Trias' Wollenhaupt, who provides a driving, EBM-leaning, amphetamine-laced club ready cut.
All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Designer Eloise Leigh has updated the record's original design with two sparrows enclosed in a blood moon circle against a deep black purple backdrop. Each copy comes with a black and white photo postcard notes by Carlos Peron and the song's lyrics. This release comes in time to celebrate the single's 25th anniversary.
MUSAR is honoured to revive the electronic-synth legend, MANASYt, with a new five-track EP as part of a three-EP series. 'Reality Defense Department' will be the Bulgarian's first material since 2012, set to release via MUSAR on December 8, 2017.

The second track 'Mobile Pharmacy' can be described as what the aliens would listen to while attacking Earth. The last original track 'Orthodox Spanking' is a dark, wayward electro track full of post-punk elements, perfect for a fetish party.

For this, my most personal record, i hand selected remixers of the highest order. Cliff Lothar, absolute legend, and current king of the enigma groove, delivers an absolute masterpiece. It's seriously a 10 on 10, and I never say that. Vinyl only bitches. Perth Drug Legend, somebody else who I kinda know and yet totally don't know (or I guess I just thought I knew) slams the 'gatti with raw tribal funk: again suitable for a warehouse or a particularly forward-thinking car dealership. Rebolledo, one of the few men i actually trust, comes in with a slightly electrofied extended party mix. God I'm happy. Full disclosure: there were a few people who did remixes that were rejected. I will reveal their names publicly in good time. Good day. T.

After breaking into techno's big league in 2017, Belgium's Amelie Lens' career has been maintaining the same impelling tempo as her music releases - this time with the launch of her own label: LENSKE. Catapulting from her intimate vinyl only studio sets onto the world stage, Lens has maintained an unwavering commitment to techno's dark acidic grooves. After proving her skills in her Belgian back yard, Amelie Lens' name became one to watch out for on worldwide festival stages. Anyone who's caught one of her Exhale take over nights at Labyrinth knows the caliber of her curation, with past guests like Marcel Dettmann, Ellen Alien, Rødhad and Kobosil, a skill she's solidified in her production and DJing. Never one to miss a beat, Amelie Lens is coming off a big year with big plans for LENSKE. The idea for Lenske was born naturally out of Lens sitting down to produce a track with collaborator Sam Farrago. When Kobosil offered to do a remix, the idea of a fresh platform to release her own and friends' music started to make sense. Aimed at the deeper underground of Amelie's techno spectrum, Lenske is also built to expose younger emerging artists. With the second release by Milo Spykers already in the pipes, Lens sees her imprint beginning as a carefully selected vinyl only platform, which will expand into digital releases to ensure affordability for the scene she wants to inspire and support. Lenske is also intended to continue the strains addictively dark stabs and hooks that Lens established with her releases on Lyase Recordings, ARTS and Second State.LENSKE's first release by Farrago, "Risin", comes packing high velocity punches, including a collaboration with Amelie Lens and a remix from Kobosil. The EP's A side is packed near 12 minutes of crisp machine driven techno with Farrago's rattling peak-time "The Riddler" being the first to puncture. The title track, "Risin", will only be released as the Kobosil remix, a titanium tour of auditory horrors, which also borrows from the EP's other tracks. Lens' signature sultry vocal samples on the B side's "Jealousy" draw the contours of a jaw grinding banger, while "Hidden Power" rounds out the release with a blaring dance floor siren encased in exquisitely unpredictable arrangement.
In 1984, German band Alphaville released their iconic debut album "Forever Young" that enjoys international popularity to this day. The album contains some of their biggest 80's classics such as the first single "Big In Japan", which went to number one in several territories, and the timeless 80s-anthem "Forever Young"!
Even before the album was released, the band unveiled their second single "Sounds Like a Melody" that topped the charts in Sweden yet again and reached the Top 10 in several European countries. The title track "Forever Young" was released along with the album on September 27th, 1984. Since then the track has become one of the greatest pop anthems of all time.
"Forever Young" the album hit the Top 20 in six European countries, went triple Gold in Germany and was awarded a Swedish Rockbjörnen as "best foreign album". The iconic album from 1984 has been remastered for the first time ever including additional bonus material.

The iconic album series Back to Mine returns in 2019, to mark it's 20th anniversary, with the indomitable Nightmares on Wax, to share his personal collection of music for after hours grooving. The series was renowned for its eclectic selection and selectors which includes some of the biggest names in electronic and pop music, from the likes of Faithless to Pet Shop Boys, Groove Armada to New Order.
Building on Back To Mine's heritage for quality this edition comes as limited edition heavyweight vinyl and extra thick cardboard sleeve with full coloured bespoke artwork, commissioned from illustrator Rich Fairhead, depicting the artist's influences along side personal sleeve notes form Nightmares On Wax.
The collection includes three exclusive tracks, one new track from Nightmares on Wax, along with a remix from the man himself of seminal band Fat Freddy's Drop and brand new project Creative Principle. The album is impeccably mixed and blended, as you'd expect from a DJ and collector of George's pedigree. His selection includes a strong representation from his roots in Northern England. Opening with respected Manchester soul duo Children of Zeus, Hull's Steve Cobby provides his own 'Lefthanded Books' featuring Crazy P's Danielle Moore and also introduces his chuggy-disco project Chieftain. Welcome to - Industrie & Zärtlichkeit , the raw, quirky yet emotional debut album from Moon! Although the Berlin-based duo is revered for dancefloor bangers such as - Ze power', Johannes Albert and Johannes Paluka (better known as Iron Curtis) have put much effort into making this album a true listening experience without sacrificing their roots in House Music. - Industrie & Zärtlichkeit (which translates into - Industry & Tenderness ) effortlessly achieves what is claimed in its title, namely a fusion of seemingly disparate elements: the rough and the smooth, dirty beats and soothing harmonies, bizarre sounds and comforting chords. The title track is a fine example of this perfectly-dosed blend with its detuned strings that glide over a crisp electro beat and an infectious melody which would make Kraftwerk proud. Cafe Del Landwehrkanal' is a lighthearted and kinky gem while - Light Of Virtue combines warm synth pads (Detroit is not far) with dusty drums and an acid bassline. MFB Nights' and Machine Rhythm Tomorrow' are also illustrations of the duo's undeniable savoir-faire, with the former celebrating garage classics thanks to its cheeky vocal sample and gorgeous rhodes chords while the latter plays out as a dedication to the early 90's, a time when people didn't care about genres and just dived in the novelty of electronic dance music.
But as we all know, there is a dark and secret side of the Moon, an aspect which is best expressed via the freaky organ chords of - Proto and its detuned melody. Not to mention the excellent ambient pieces - Fjordig or - The Bitter End which showcase the duo's ability to venture into uncharted territory.
All in all, Industrie & Zärtlichkeit feels like drinking fresh orange juice gently sparkled with chilli... and it concludes flawlessly with two reworks that prolong the album's laidback yet assured vibe. First off is Black Spuma (Lauer of Tuff City Kids fame and Italian disco legend Fabrizio Mammarella) who rework the title track into a hands-in-the-air boogie monster that will definitely be a festival staple this summer. Finally, Lerosa emphasizes the deeper shade of the album's spectrum with an impressive new wave rework of - Appeal .
Fresh from Pedro Vian's full LP release, here are club ready remixes of Flexible Girl and Darwin's Nightmare. These are remixes made with the dancefloor in mind. The Flexible Girl remixes come from Chicago's renowned sound sculptor Hieroglyphic Being who supplies a key led version, Barcelona based Cardopusher with an 80s bass driven revision and a submerged acid remix from Portuguese producer Da Silva. The remix of Darwin's Nightmare is a trippy version by legendary Ukrainian producer Vakula.
Somewhere over western Europe, an un-identified falling object crashed landed causing a massive bang, and a ginormous Banana shaped smoke cloud. Frederic, a local artistic young chap was so inspired by this hilariously funny giant cloud that covered the whole sky as far as he could see; he ran indoors to take cover, and wrote a little summer step d&b beat, called 'Laughing at Clouds' - which seemed to draw a lot of attention. Out of the studio window, Frederic could see what seemed to be a pink giraffe giving it some serious head-nodding action. By the second drop Leonard (The pink giraffe) was dancing so heavily that he caused a small tremor somewhere over in the states, where young up & coming producer Melo seemed to pick up the transmission. While in his sonic laboratory he managed to transfer his latest project (Affirmation) through the current, where Frederic decided to make his first remix project, which pretty much made Leonard pass out after all the summer stepping....

Rockets Audio starts the saga with 4 finest minimal house trackers by Matheiu, Denis Kaznacheev and the master trio Wareika. A rocket (from Italian rocchetto "bobbin" is a missile, spacecraft, aircraft or other vehicle that obtains thrust from a rocket engine. Rocket engine exhaust is formed entirely from propellant carried within the rocket before use. Rocket engines work by action and reaction and push rockets forward simply by expelling their exhaust in the opposite direction at high speed, and can therefore work in the vacuum of space.
In fact, rockets work more efficiently in space than in an atmosphere. Multistage rockets are capable of attaining escape velocity from Earth and therefore can achieve unlimited maximum altitude. Compared with airbreathing engines, rockets are lightweight and powerful and capable of generating large accelerations. To control their flight,

The stored delay can be a simple pressurized detune or a single filter delay that disassociates in the presence of a curve (EQ + FILTER ), two hats that spontaneously react on contact (RANDOMIZER), two snares that must be ignited to react, a solid combination of effects with oxidizer (solid GROOVE), or solid fuel with liquid oxidizer (hybrid FILTER BAND DELAY). Chemical rockets store a large amount of energy in an easily released form, and can be very dangerous. However, careful design, testing, construction and use minimizes risks.

All We Are Were Also On The Bill, And After Chatting With The Band And Dan They Invited Alex To Come To The Speedy Session They Had Planned With The Band Two Days Later At Dan's Studio In Streatham.
Once In A Room Together The Music Came Fast. The Remainder Of The Day Was Spent Forming Lyrical Ideas. All Present Including Carey Contributed, Jotting Down Ideas, Excerpts Of The Days Phrases And Conversations And Putting Them Together In True William Burroughs Cut-ups Style. 'It Was A Way To Detach From Conventional Song Subject-matter' Says Kapranos. All We Are Agreed, 'The Writing Process Was A Lot Of Fun And For Us A Completely Fresh Way Of Looking At It.'
... The Resulting Track 'Heart Attack' Is A Skittering Disco-post-punk Jam. Equal Parts Of All Their Day Jobs Form Something Fresh, With Echoes Of Talking Heads And Alex's Unmistakable Vocal Delivery Over The Top. 'The Speedy Tracks Are Always Such A Good Vibe And The Studio Is Such A Special Place' Say All We Are. Kapranos Adds, 'as I Think Is Typical For The Label, Nothing Existed In The Morning When We Got Together, And Then Suddenly Everything Was Completed And Recorded By The Time We Went For A Pizza In The Evening.'

The second Keep on Wankin EP continues Hell Yeah label boss Marco's on going quest for the perfect remixes. This time out he serves up the most Balearic Gabba influenced material yet and takes you on a trip to the clouds with Bjorn Torske and Fango both stepping up.
First up is Bjorn Torske's take on everybody's favourite Luminodisco tune 'Oh Mary.' It's an impossibly adventurous 11 minute epic with buoyant chords dancing over trilling guitars. Lush, multi-layered and brimming with musicality, this is the sort of dubbed out yet percussively lively masterpiece that will mark the high point of any set as it washes over you time and time again.
Then it's to Fango's chunky and spaced out take on Somerville & Wilson's 'Yantar.' It's been the final track of all recent Fango sets around the world for a while now and that won't change any time on thanks to the slow build to a colourful dub disco peak. It takes you ever higher on wandering lead synths as the fat drums pump away below. Essential stuff.

Yo Falty why don't you do the old school shuffle anymore What happened, maaaaan OK, held this one back from 2011. All the garage and 2-step workouts I made were inspired by hours and hours of listening to Horsepower Productions, Zed Bias, El-B, Darqwan... I studied them. This tune in particular inspired by Benny Ill himself. Ill Bent was never released, I always held back some exclusives for my sets. No one had it. Benny Ill remixed the track in fine style, both Straight up and with a Fat Larry spin. We were talking, Benny and I, and he mentioned he used to live in Brooklyn. So he submitted Is It Safe, a tune he made while living not far from where I live now in NYC, to conclude the EP. Heavy! Underground techno fave Path Records is kicking off 2019 with a repress of its highly sought-after first release which came out way back in 1999. The excellent 'Why 2K' EP, a gorgeous piece of techno from Fate 258 a.k.a. label boss Reade Truth, remains a staple on the world's most underground dancefloors and has been widely regarded as a digger's trophy.
Reade Truth, an offspring from New York's Sonic Groove, has been spreading the message of electronic music since its beginnings. He has continuously released high quality techno on many seminal labels including Planet E, NSyde, and his recent album on Cartulis Music.
Path Records is known for their uniquely deep electronic visions. With a steady mixture of both new material and old unreleased tracks, the label remains hotly anticipated. Path 001x is the start of big things for Path this year, with forthcoming releases ahead from some of its other big projects Upsetting Keys and The Lotus Project.
Lapsus Records proudly presents the first solo material from Scottish artist 'Brick Reds, Black Mauves', and is due for release at the end of April. Behind the Brick Reds, Black Mauves pseudonym is producer Alex Ander, better known as part of the renowned duo, Dalhous, one of most interesting projects to emerge from London label Blackest Ever Black.
Together with cohort Marc Dall, the Edinburgh pairing immediately achieved international recognition thanks to releases including "An Ambassador For Laing" (2013) and "Visibility Is A Trap" (2014), which subsequently led to their participation at the first Lapsus Festival in 2014.
It is not the first time that Alex Ander has collaborated with Lapsus Records. In 2016 Dalhous formed part of a dual release with Pye Corner Audio entitled "Run For The Shadows", demonstrating the strong sound connection shared by both projects. Alex Ander returns in 2019 to present his new adventure Brick Reds, Black Mauves.
His debut release for Lapsus Records is a four-track homonymous EP that could be considered as a soundtrack to a post-apocalyptic feature film, full of exuberant ambient and melodies in constant motion, somewhat reminiscent of names like Demdike Stare or even Scottish band Boards Of Canada. On the EP's excellent fifth track, remix duties are expertly performed by Dalhous, giving "Cabochon" an even more introspective and experimental atmosphere, if that were deemed possible...
The "Brick Reds, Black Mauves EP" is, without a doubt, one of Lapsus Records' most exciting debuts to date and will be released at the end of April. Once again, the Basora studio has been vgiven the task of designing the artwork for this EP, which will be released on both vinyl and digital formats.

Spencer Parker invites Swedish artist Billie Jo to Work Them Records with five driving techno cuts entitled 'The Ravenous' EP featuring a remix from Me Me Me boss Man Power.
Hailing from Stockholm, Billie Jo is a founding member of the .WAV collective and resident DJ at Gothenburg's Rottweiler when not performing at clubs like Tresor. She now joins Work Them Records, bringing an array of robust productions with her.
With its pounding drums and ghostly vocals, 'Erroneous' quickly sets the tone of the release, leading into 'Saturn' with its glassy textures and echoing effects. 'Ravenous' then takes us into murkier territories, generating a duskier aesthetic with its twisted sounds before British producer Man Power provides a vigorous reinterpretation under his newly minted MPX moniker, which focuses on raw club tracks, featuring hard stabs and acid licks.
With its saw-like lead and trippy atmospherics, 'Dir Vsseu' sounds like being pulled through a vortex, making way for the powerful 'Planet 9' which concludes the package with metallic elements and subtle pads.

In late 2017 Hyperdub released 'Diggin In The Carts', a compilation put together by Nick Dwyer and Kode9 of pioneering and rare Japanese video game music from the 1980s and 1990s.
Since then, from Sonar Festival in Barcelona to Liquid Rooms in Tokyo, Kode9 has been touring a live audio-visual set in collaboration with visuals from anime legend Koji Morimoto, who also designed the artwork for the original compilation.Finally, on this first new Kode9 EP since 2014, a handful of these remixes see the light of day.
9 rivets his 80/160bpm rhythms onto these classic 8bit and 16bit melodies, re-animating the Steve Reich-ian arpeggios of Soshi Hosoi, the grimelike horn fanfares of Yuzo Koshiro, the sour pads of Koichi Ishaibashi, and pitching Tadahiro Nitta down into a slow building, frantic low end grind.

A heaven-made match is now complete with Gerry Read's debut EP for Pampa Records. The British producer's distinctively twisted, lo-fi sound, combined with Pampa's deep-vein instinct for quality quirks, ushers in a new phase for two of house music's most celebrated names. The opening bars of 'It'll All Be Over' are immediately evocative, hinting at the patchwork style to come. Twangy banjo strings and a foot-stomp beat seem to herald a folksy arrangement, but that isn't to be. Soft floaty pads rise up to form an unlikely partnership, softening sharp edges and adding sophisticated melodic expression. Once a compressed vocal sample is introduced, the entire structure reveals itself and begins to spin and loop in the style of iconic French house productions. Propelled further along by the endearing drama of flooded bass drum kicks, falsetto voices and xylophone pings, 'It'll All Be Over' is immediately memorable and expertly architectured. Read's second cut, 'Satyricon,' is woven in the spirit of micro-house. Sharp waveform cuts, timely pauses, loops of noodling keys and hints of percussion shakers combine for a low-slung psychedelic effect. With the sunniness of a vintage folk-pop sample and sultry snatches of Spanish dialogue added atop a deep mid-tempo shuffle, Read secures his place alongside the Bradocks and Leclairs who came before him. On the flipside, Pampa's figurehead takes an expert turn at the controls of 'It'll All Be Over (DJ Koze remix).' The original's jagged edges are buffed out, and shined up into a gleaming disco house anthem. With its artfully timed strumming breakdowns and cowbell accents, it is an appetising teaser of the forthcoming summer.

After presenting a lot of notable artists from our country, it’s great to showcase another young Dutch talent with our latest release: Perdu.
You might know him from his solo debut on Let’s Play House or the follow up on Optimo Music last year. Perdu’s music gets played by the big ones in the game like Hunee, Optimo and Palms Trax to name a few; and obviously, by us. We’re proud to introduce you to his “Skye EP”. His new release includes 3 varied originals and a rave anthem made by none other than our fun loving Ozzie friend DJ Boring.
The A side kicks off with “Jane’s World” and is the track that made us fall in love with this EP when we heard the demo. It’s a worldly tinged house monster, filled with harmonized drum rolls, a counting Frenchman and a funky arpeggio for good measure.
“Sacramento” takes a more introverted approach, leaning on a broken beat and atmospheric pads. The consistency of the kalimba with the vocal gives it a certain swing that got our ears longing for more.
The B-side starts with “Morbid”, a life-affirming electronic anthem, where Perdu shows his mastery of creating a proper build up. Over the whole course of the track, there’s a lead that slowly but surely opens its filter. There’s bells, harps, hand percussion and rides that all build up towards a lovely climax towards the end, while the track never feels like it’s forcing itself upon you.
Where the 3 originals are all, to some extent, quite introverted and modest, DJ Boring’s remix is anything but that. His version of “Jane’s World” is all about ravey leads, powerful percussion and huge breakdowns, which will do wonders at any festival or club closing set.
We hope to pleasantly surprise some of you, and as always, make a musical impact on your moment in the club, at home, or wherever it is you enjoy the music of our new Heist release.

The feeling of aligning yourself, the notion of togetherness. That is what we felt when Timothy Padilla, the man behind Montei, sent us the final drafts of the two tracks that make up the A-side of our premier release. That is also the definition of Syzygy, a global house label focusing on the kind of music that will make you lose yourself on a dance floor. Montei hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina and immediately caught our eye with his minimal but groovy, melodic house music. On the B-Side Nima Gorji gives one of the tracks the sunny treatment keeping you smiling on the floor.
Visions Recordings is back with the second volume of their compilation 'The chromatic Universe 'presented by Alex and Stephane Attias. This second opus is full of exclusives tracks mixing styles and genres with a colourful palette of grooves from Paris to New York, from Detroit to London, from Italy to Switzerland and beyond. This compilation is international as you can see and Visions is very happy to release 3 vinyl singles as the compilation to have a collection and a better sound quality rather than squeezing all the tracks on an album. We will also have later the digital release and an exclusive very limited CD.
Those three Ep are holding 4 tracks of pure fire. This THIRD and last part of this compilation is just what we do love, a mix of styles in the groovy genre of electronic music, Alex Attias teaming up for the first time with Sassy J for their collaboration that sees the day of a groovy monster mixing elements of afro, deep Detroit house, jazz and latinesque vibrations followed by Detroit kid Javonntte with a jazzy bossa track re edited by Alex. On the flipside, we got a new version of Alex Attias and Luman Child disco track ' Cookie Monster ' from last year here taken to a housey journey by the two Italian heroes Patrick Gibin and Volcov. Last but not least, a newcomer from Switzerland under the name of Sebastien Loopes, a talented young producer mixing various styles, release here for the first time a heavy afro electronic massive clubby jam that will make you move on the dancefloor.
Over two years in the making, 'Talisman' is a retrospective and re-interpretative celebration of the work of American musician Robert ÆOLUS Myers. Touched first by the emotional depth of the music, and subsequently by the warmth and wisdom of the man, Origin Peoples sought to capture a snapshot on this special vinyl release.
This newest chapter of the ÆOLUS myth seen for the first time on vinyl are five of his most expressive pieces, alongside a quartet of remixes by kindred spirits from all corners of the globe. This is the first time his music has been interpreted by others, and Robert's delight at the result speaks volumes of his adventurous and open-minded attitude. Approaching the often intangible new age genre with a humanist approach, Robert creates immersive and expansive pieces which connect with the listener on a spiritual and emotional level.
Archetypal narratives are retold through nuanced electronics, evocative motifs and empathetic flute, the varied compositions informed by Myers' classical training, spiritual pursuits and study of ethnomusicology. Part retrospective, part remix project, 'Talisman' is the perfect reflection of Robert ÆOLUS Myers, a musician whose timeless expression of theme and emotion has enriched minds, bodies and souls for almost 40 years.
Next on Berlin's Renate Schallplatten is Longhair, a project formed by Marko Pelaic and Benedikt Bogenberger, two residents of Berlin's Wilde Renate. Mangostine, a four-tracker, follows last year's 12' on Dutch label Bordello A Parigi and a track contribution on House Is OK. It lands with an Axel Boman remix. The EP opens with the title track, its name drawn from the exotic fruit. Over a brooding bassline we hear light, fluttering melodies and uplifting keys, creating a peak-time roller that'll put smiles on faces across the dancefloor. 'Pans & Pots,' the A2, starts as a darker affair with trippy vocal samples and fluttering drum patterns, before warm keys and intricate instrumentation lift the mood to make for a fun-filled jam peak-hours feel-good jam. On the flip, Studio Barnhus head Axel Boman reworks the title track into a more subtle, deeper cut; the melodies remain but in the background, replaced at the forefront by tribal drums and abstract vocals. Closer 'Aquamen,' meanwhile, opens as a straight-edged techno cut with a heavy bassline and fluttering snares, before playful keys and intermittent sci-fi samples add some texture. It's another late-night jam that'll lift the energy without ever being too forceful. The release is Renate Schallplatten's first since 2017's various artist compilations. Earlier EPs have landed from Moscoman, Sebastian Voigt, Wareika, and more.

Two of the UK's unsung heroes NY*AK and Mark Hand transform the title track into a 15 minute journey with plenty twists and turns.
French producer Erell Ranson's affinity for the deeper shades of Detroit sound is well known, but his ability to absorb those influences and create beautiful music with his own signature is the reason we're so excited to welcome him into our family. Having previously released on labels such as Kalahari Oyster Cult, aDepth audio, Nice & Nasty Records and his own MySelf Recordings, amongst others, Erell's became quite skilled in crafting sophisticated and emotional tracks which still seem to feel perfectly at home in a crowded 3 AM club situation. EP for Barba, titled "Dreams Of Nila", is a 4-tracker consisting of "Dreams Of Nila", "Reminiscence 0f The Past", and "Far Away Of Your Side", with the latter receiving an additional remix treatment by a Rotterdam-based project Duplex. "Dreams Of Nila" is a somewhat more leaning towards Chicago-ish side of things, with its huge bassline enveloped by shuffling 707 drums. Soft-sounding synth pad sequences work as an emotion injection and appear perfectly timed, without removing the edge of this, essentially, club track. "Reminiscence Of The Past" is the most direct of the bunch. Syncopated bass drum, forward-leaning groove and those classic techno snare roll fills make this track hard to ignore as it is, without mentioning complex interaction of synth lines, chords and beautiful detroit-reminiscent string stabs. Wonderfully executed counterpoint of hard edge and soft touch is what makes this cut a truly special one. Techno in its fullest form. "Far Away Of Your Side" is somewhat closer to the energy level of "Dreams Of Nila", and is a well-paced deep cut perfect for later moments in the night when subtle approach is everything. Slow synth pads give your mind some time to relax while the groove keeps your body occupied. Duplex remix of "Far Away Of Your Side" takes the track another notch down but in a more sideways manner. Broken electro groove is what keeps the foundation of the track while Chris Aarse & John Matze (aka Duplex) masterfully work their synths and pads to keep the tension for the whole duration of the track. Melancholy mood is tangible here, and at its best, ready for the dancefloor.
SLV's "Berlin. A Portrait In Music" album on Soma receives a string of remixes from Setaoc Mass, Stanislav Tolkachev, Conforce, as well as a VIP mix from SLV himself.
Hailing from Berlin, SLV is well respected for his melancholic sound design and crystalline soundscapes having released on labels like Ilario Alicante's Virgo and Slam's Soma. Following the release of SLV's ambient "Berlin. A Portrait In Music" album, Slam's iconic label has invited a powerful selection of techno producers to reimagine a handful of tracks; Figure, Clergy and Work Them Records producer Setaoc Mass; Ukraine's master of mind-bending techno, Stanislav Tolkachev; and also Delsin regular Conforce.
"Dust" by SK_Eleven founder Setaoc Mass brings melodic flare with enveloping synths above dark rumbling lows, before SLV's injects some energy into "Talking With The Shadows" with his own Rave Mix, incorporating moody tones and slow flowing arps with dark cavernous reverb. Krill and Mord artist Stanislav Tolkachev then offers a steady beat with euphoric chimes and vinyl hiss for his stripped back "First Day In The City", preceding Dutch artist Conforce's "Forest Voices" which balances unearthly sound design and a steppy drum pattern.
SO-015 was slated to be released some time ago as the Critical Phaze ep, but for various reasons, never saw the light of day. The ep has now been newly mixed, re-mastered, renamed on the resurrected Southern Outpost label. The lead track, Critical Phaze, is dark dystopian electro, while Syncom Data provide a dubbed out remix to finish up the A side. A short interlude on the B side makes way for Solar Cycle a long, hypnotic electro trip that imagines the endless bounds of space.

Following the first of the 'SHIFT LTD' capsule collection by Xhin is an EP by Kirk Degiorgio with a remix from John Beltran. Full-bodied tracks fill in every frequency corner - 'The Nearness of Flames' as a headspin stomper, while 'Acid Symphony' weaves an acid line into a rich tapestry. Ambient producer John Beltran reimagines the original with a sunrise touch.

For their sixth release London based record label and clubnight Snap, Crackle & Pop return with another slice of the post punk and kraut influenced electro/techno sounds that are coming to define the label. The latest release comes from Niv Ast and it serves as a follow up to his appearence on this summers Relish compilation. The EP leads with an ice cold slab of post punk swagger in the form of Quebec / Makolet which gets the remix treatment from previous collaborators Khidja, the Romanian duo strip the percussion back for the dancefloor and tease out the track's darker side with more than a hint of acidic malevolence. For the B-Side Disco Monroe offers a nostalgic slice of pitched down French Electro undoubtedly influence by the Djs recent residencies in Paris. Optimo Music's Mr TC rounds off the EP with his unmistakably left field vision to give the track a dark tropical re-imagining.
Bucketround returns with an incredible work by the Japanese "Tominori Hosoya" "Anniversaries EP" 2 original cuts based on real love, superb melodies and rhythms that take you into a magical world and all this accompanied by the touch of the Brazilian "Ney Faustini" and the Spanish "Manuel Costela" to define a stunning release that you should not miss.

When I get a request to do a remix, I take that as an invitation… an invitation to express.
The sounds from the original composition become doors / gates… stepping stones for me to travel into this very moment and investigate how it is always changing (that changing being me).
I start working with the sounds… looping, playing, shaping… like a ceramist working with the clay, a painter working with the brush and paint, or the baker working with the dough. This process becomes a mantra; a meditation, and my studio becomes filled with sounds and rhythms… echoes from the original song, filtered by this very moment, temporary passing through "someone" being called Sebastian Mullaert or Wa Wu We.
Expression taking place and there are "NO MORE WORDS". Music becomes being, just Being.
STL is one of my absolute favorite artists, this specific invitation felt very special to me and the journey around the creation of the remix has been very deep.
Now I invite You to take part of it, let your consciousness express this very moment through the experience of the music. Again, being is just Being.

Contemporary house merged with space-age jazz & broken beat from Copenhagen newcomer Nejrup on debut release MANDA backed by a uniquely off-kilter remix from London soul stalwart K15 (Eglo / Wild Oats)
MANDA is a selection of intricate compositions for the dancefloor with a jazz centered approach to combining dance grooves with modular soundscapes & live instrumentation.
For Nejrup, a self-learned synthhacker, pianist and producer from Copenhagen, his debut MANDA is a result of years of experimentation and never-ending practice and noodling on his Fender Rhodes & homebuilt synth collection. Delivering a compositional complexity influenced by Radiohead and Floating Points, while letting his tunes simmer with airy synths and improvised live instrumentation combined with a love for depthful harmonies.
K15 backs the release with a soothing, heavily syncopated remix, as only he could do it. The Londoner, whose soulful touch and ear for melody has earned him high status in the jazz encompassing house- and broken beat circuit, through Kyle Hall's 'Wild Oats' and Alexander Nut's 'Eglo Records' and as center of the Culross Close outfit.
On their debut album as DOVS, Tin Man and AAAA summon the ethereal spirit of acid. Tin Man, AKA Johannes Auvinen, has been studying the emotional potential of the Roland TB-303 for 15 years now, and AAAA (Gabo Barranco), a fixture of the Mexico City underground, might as well be his acolyte. While the coincidental similarities of their studio and live approaches make this collaboration feel natural, even expected, Silent Cities is anything but. Acid Test 14 features remixes from select trackboth Tin Man & AAAA individually as well as label mate John Tejada.
Fran Hartnett performs and records his tracks in one take. He is also a well known tattoo artist who operates out of Skin City in Dublin. He actually tattooed my wife's foot recently which is the most painful part of the body you can tattoo, apart from the genitals, but she wasn't up for that. Anyway I digress, so he makes techno, he's an artist, DJ, live act, he puts art on people's skin, he did the art for his release and the next 7 UX releases. He's a really nice guy, he's got great taste in music, so he's actually starting to piss me off, is there anything he's not good at He's making me look bad. I tried to outdo him with a remix of his track "Incisions, Decisions" but I think you'll agree the original is better so fuck you Fran, fuck you.

Three incredible reimaginations of Nina Simone classics from Francois K, Tony Humphries and Coldcut each with their own unique touch and trademark style weaved within.
Francois K kicks off with a sublime deep house rework of 'Here Comes The Sun'. Reminiscent of Larry Heard's output, Francois nods to Mr Fingers with a bassline that harks back to those early Chicago classics, coupled with deft mbira touches that create an other-worldy feel to the remix. Celestial waves and singing rides mix with a buzzing top line melody that lay the foundations for Simone's spiritual voice to hang in the air with a perpetual elegance and grace. A timeless slice of house music that earned Francois' version a spot on one of Innervisions acclaimed 'Secret Weapons' compilations.
Next up, Zanzibar royalty Tony Humphries lays out a bumping remix of 'Turn Me On' turning the bluesy soul leanings of the original on their head and flipping it into an uplifting summertime groover. Simone's words take on a different tone with this revitalising rework backed by staccato guitars and chopped up vocal melodies that give a playful yet soulful character to this slab of sunshine.
Rounding off the EP in classic Coldcut style, the duo meld 'Save Me' into a chopped, screwed and crunched remix. Lo-fi percussive elements and distorted textures blend with glitching samples and stuttering sequences that turn Simone into a tripped-out goddess. An atmospheric piece of electronica but with a harden edge purpose made for the dancefloor.

Switzerland's Alma Negra are known for their deft, tasteful explorations of world roots, anchored in digging, sampling and sharing. On this brand new remix collection, Alma Negra invite a trio of equally curious producers to remix some three of their best-received musical endeavours. French producer and DJ Bambounou capitalises on the quick tempo and raw-energy at the heart of the Maloya sound as the basis for his raw and hypnotic reimagining of 'Kabare', originally sourced from Christine Cabare, one of the most notable stars of the contemporary Maloya scene. Glenn Astro, meanwhile takes on another release, 'Haleto lale lalô'. Originally influenced by the Saho sound, the origins of which lie in the musical history and landscape of Eritrea, the Money $ex Records owner fashions two distinctive reworks out of the already adapted original material. After applying the soft pressure of his weightless, smooth funk for an initial, blissed-out remix, he switches up to a warm, percussive jack session on his 'Rhythm Trax' remix, available here as a digital bonus. Finally, cult producer and musician Michal Turtle, best known for his sensational LPs and compilations on Music From Memory, delivers only his second ever remix in a forty year career, conjuring a magical slice of dreamy, percussive pop from 'Tany Be', awash in signature brass.
Remix extravaganza ahead! What started as an attempt to transport Feater's brillant outsider pop 'Time Millionaire' (taken from the Socialo Blanco album) onto a dance floor with one or two remixes, ended up as a feast served on three different platters with some heavy hitters. First up, Pépé Bradock and Ricardo Villalobos are crossing their beams. Spread over two 12s, the masters of idiosyncrasies and splendid aural design, Bradock and Villalobos treat the voice of Vilja Larjosto with love and care and bring it into their respective universe during peak time: vocals, dubs, acapellas and bonus bits included. Expertly, tricky and inventive. Remix EP no. 3 merges different trajectories of UK dance music traditions (or Ireland for that matter). Man of the moment Krystal Klear takes the material down to love town: the sound of 1980s Island records meets NYC boogie and UK street soul sounds. Hessle Audio's Pangaea follows the other path: uptempo bass fun with a driving dub and an instrumental pass. Last but not least, Feater & Sam Irl themselves deliver a blissed out dub of the original. Oh, and if you have enough time, flip over to the 10 with an Aba Shanti-I approved UK reggae and lovers rock take on it by Blood Shanti.

Weighing in at a combined length of 20+ minutes, both remixes capture the Detroit legend at his deepest and most cosmic with his hands glued to the dials. Not just part of the biggest single from Guti's 'Year Of The Conga' album so far, they also tell a unique tale of their own...
These mixes were originally meant for the full release earlier this year, alongside killer mixes from Loco Dice and Priku. But when Larkin received a shiny new Moog One he rang Guti and label bosses the Martinez Brother and told them that they'd have to wait... Italian boss Wrong Assessment makes his Dynamic Reflection appearance with this 4-track EP including a Shifted remix of the title track.
You can hear the years of experience is in this well-produced and strongly written EP. The balance between the rolling drums and the uplifting percussion are capable of bringing listeners into a certain state of mind. The warm and melodic synths fit perfectly into many layers of each track, while Shifted gives it a more dark approach on remix duties.
Wrong Assessment manages to combine the label's vision and sound authentic and refreshing at the same time, causing him to stand out with this 40th EP on Dynamic Reflection.

Véronique Sanson is one of the most famous French pop oriented female
singer, songwriter, and composer of the 80s. She began her career in the 70s,
and was the girlfriend of genius composer Michel Berger. Her world turnt
upside down when she met Stephen Stills of Crossby Stills & Nash. One Day,
during a recording session in Paris, she left the studio pretending to go buy
cigarettes, but never came back... She flew overnight to the USA, where she
married Stephen Stills. In LA, she records new music with superstar
composers such as Ray Parker JR and Harvey Mason. "On m'attend là-bas",
produced in 1974, was one of the single of the album Le Maudit.
Funky French League is an intergenerational collective (based in Paris)
formed by Young Pulse (Gamm) , Dabeull (Roche Musique), Arthur Chaps,
Woody Braun (Malka Family), Mr Willy, DJ Asko et Uncle T (Groove
Deluxe). All coming from different universe from hip-hop, to electronic music,
but united by their love for the groove and the funk.

Max Chapman from London / UK delivers another belter. A bassline-driven organ House tune with a minimalistic but very effective set-up. Oleg Poliakov aka SKAT is one of the guys behind 'Circus Company.' He comes up with a sublime but powerful Tech House tune, in the original sense of the genre name. 'Jazzve' is a tune by Russian producer Mutenoise. It's maybe the most original, innovative tune on this EP. Full of surprises and cutting-edge elements - hard to compare to anything else around these days.
New York's indie disco freaks Phenomenal Handclap Band is back with a second single on Toy Tonics: Jail. With remixes by Detroit's Waajeed and Marcel Vogel of Lumberjacks in Hell. Including a club edit by Toy Tonics head honcho Kapote. The band was responsible for one of Toy Tonics' biggest tracks in 2018: Judge Not: The Ray Mang version became a hit on open minded dancefloors around the globe: with support from DJ's like DJ Harvey, Cassius and Gilles Peterson (who put it int his - best track of the year' list) but also more house DJ's like Berlin's Keine Musik Crew, Soundstream or Superpitcher. The band's members are kind of heroes to many connoisseurs of the funk/ disco scene. The band leader Daniel Collas was playing keys in Amy Winehouse legendary backing band. Other members are connected to Mark Ronson's crew or San Francisco's Stones Throw universe.. just to give u the bigger picture. With The Phenomenal Handclap Band they blend the unique vibe of 1970ies Power-Soul in the traditon of Charles Stepney and Rotary Connection with today's new disco vibe. Parcels, Toro Y Moi, Roosevelt are not that far. Important fact: All played live, no samples. Mixed by the champs at DFA. The band is part of Toy Tonics's masterplan to expand their dancevibes into more live played scenarios.. stepping out of the strict DJ context. Fun fact Paul McCartney wrote the band a letter saying how much he loved their music when he first heard the band on BBC Radio 1.
