Following up on their highly acclaimed debut release from 2020, raster presents Il Quadro di Troisi’s “Remixes” album, an eclectic collection of reinterpretations of eight of the duo’s tracks. By inviting fellow label artists as well as friends and long-term collaborators to contribute to this, “Remixes” shows a broad spectrum of diversity, ranging from colorful, loop-based renditions by Toulouse Low Trax and Tropicantesimo, to (Italo) disco-inspired versions by Daniele Baldelli & Marco Dionigi and Chloé, to more rhythmical and functional tracks by AtomTM, Dasha Rush and Front de Cadeaux. Unzählige wollten Thomas Rainer aufhalten, ihn stürzen und haben alles getan, um ihn Dreck fressen zu sehen. Sie belächelten ihn für seine Vision, für seinen grenzenlosen Willen, seinen Herrschaftsanspruch erbauen, zu untermauern und zu mehren. Doch das ist Vergangenheit. Längst pflastern sie als besiegte Gegner seinen Weg, hängen als Trophäen an den Wänden seines Hauptquartiers. Er kam, sah, siegte - und führt nun seinen endgültigen Triumphzug durch die Straßen der gefallenen Städte. "Veni Vidi Vici" lautet der Name des Kreuzzugs, mit dem Thomas Rainer Mauern einreißen, Armeen auslöschen und ganze Reiche zu Fall bringen wird. Mit ihm oder gegen ihn - etwas anderes lässt dieser Tanzdiktator nicht gelten. Überlege dir gut, ob du an seiner Seite durch ein Meer aus willigen Gespielinnen und rauschender Sünde waten und dich selbst so fühlen willst wie der berüchtigte Caligula - oder ob du als Verlierer von der Geschichte vergessen werden willst.
NACHTMAHR haben ihre "Kriegserklärung" propagiert - und liefern mit dem gleichnamigen Song nur einen von vielen Beweisen für die Überlegenheit dieses Club-Kolosses. Doch das ist erst der Anfang: "Tradition" wird mit seinem infernalischen Maschinen-Beats gleich hinterhergejagt, "Mütterchen Russland" ist voller marschierender Wucht und russischer Epik, das langsame, wogende "Die letzten Dämme" oder die allumfassende Industrial-Vernichtungswaffe "Hoffnung" als zertrümmernder Schlusspunkt erweisen sich als übermächtige Attacken zeitgemäßer Clubkultur. Geschmierter denn je läuft seine Industrial Infanterie, unter der stolz in die Höhe gereckten Standarte des Austrian Imperial Industrial versammelt der Trümmergeneral ein einschüchterndes Arsenal schwerer Waffen, die jeden Club in seine Einzelteile zerlegen werden und die Konkurrenz aus der Geschichte fegen werden wie eine lästige Fliege.
Die Welt wird brennen. Entzündet an den Überresten der untergegangenen Gegner, spiegelt sich im Widerschein dieses Triumphs der musikalischen und körperlichen Exzesse eine neue Weltordnung des Industrial, ein in Stein gemeißelter Beweis für die Überlegenheit von NACHTMAHR. Dabei ist es bedeutungslos, ob der Herr der übermächtigen Beat-Brigade flirrende Industrial-Exzesse, donnernde EBM-Rammböcke, schleppende Rhythmen oder noisigen Terror in die Schlacht schickt: Das Ende wird stets dasselbe sein, NACHTMAHR werden das Schlachtfeld stets als Sieger verlassen. Den Gegnern schallt es in den Ohren, die Frauen flüstern es andächtig: "Veni vidi vici" - bis in alle Ewigkeit.

Paisley Park Enterprises, in Partnership with Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Records, announces expanded reissue of Prince & the New Power Generation’s multi-platinum album Diamonds And Pearls. This 12LP+ Blu-ray features 47 previously unreleased tracks and over two hours of live filmed concert footage in high definition.

Following the successful release of the 1999 Super Deluxe Edition (2019), and Sign O’ The Times Super Deluxe Edition (2020), the Diamonds And Pearls Super Deluxe Edition represents the third deep dive into Prince’s vault. It includes a total of 75 audio tracks across 7x CDs and 12x 180g vinyl records.

The set offers a newly remastered version of the album, plus 15 of the incredible remixes and B-sides from the era, including the never commercially released “Gett Off (Damn Near 10 Min.)” mix. The Super Deluxe Edition also features 33 previously unheard studio gems from Prince’s Illustrious vault, ranging from alternate versions of album tracks to numbers Prince gave away to other artists, and songs recorded while on the road in 1990.

Prince & The NPG previewed the Diamonds And Pearls Tour at Prince’s Minneapolis club, Glam Slam, on January 11, 1992. The sweaty, sold-out, last-minute show captures the sheer joy and sense of endless possibility that came to define this era. This previously unreleased live concert performance has been mixed from the 24-track master and rounds out the audio content of this 12LP set.
This same previously unreleased concert is also presented in stunning 2K video on the Blu-ray disc that accompanies both Super Deluxe Edition formats, in Stereo, 5.1 Dolby True HD, and Dolby ATMOS audio formats. The Blu-ray also features Prince & The New Power Generation’s performance at The Special Olympics at the Metrodome in Minneapolis in July 1991 (also in Stereo, 5.1, and ATMOS), as well as a previously unseen soundcheck.

The Blu-ray is completed by the long out of print Diamonds And Pearls Video Collection, originally released on VHS and LaserDisc in 1993. The 120-page hardback book which accompanies the SDE set features unseen photos by Randee St. Nicholas, and essays by: author & broadcaster Andrea Swensson; Archivist and Senior Researcher for the Prince Estate Duane Tudahl; British music critic and Prince expert Jason Draper; De Angela L. Duff, an Industry Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering in Brooklyn; Social Media Personality KaNisa Williams; and an introduction from Public Enemy founder, Chuck D.

Originally released in January 1962 and simply titled 'Howlin' Wolf (aka The Rockin' Chair Album), this is one of the blues legend's best-loved LPs and widely recognized as one of the all-time cornerstones of Chicago Blues and named the third greatest guitar album of all time by Mojo magazine in 2004.

Now reissued as 'Little Red Rooster', the first side features iconic singles like 'The Red Rooster, (aka Little Red Rooster). However, it is on the second side that Wolf really steps into the light and delivers his dynamic and unique voice like never before, with songs such as Back Door Man and his variation on Willie Dixon's Spoonful, one of the finest blues songs ever recorded.

Wewantsounds is delighted to announce the release of "TOUCH," a selection of sought-after tracks produced by Yuji Ohno, one of the most revered producers and arrangers on the Nippon music scene. His blend of Jazz, Space Funk and Disco have long been highly sought-after by DJs around the world and we've been given unique access to the Nippon Columbia vaults and to Mr. Ohno himself to come with a versatile selection from his 70s body of work, all bearing his uniquely recognisable sound. The set includes works with singers Nanako Sato, Hatsumi Shibata and Ken Tanaka alongside tracks from his cult anime soundtracks for "Lupin III" and "Captain Future." Approved by Yuji Ohno himself, "Touch" was remastered in Tokyo by Nippon Columbia and features liner notes by Nick Luscombe in conversation with the maestro and artwork by Optigram's Manuel Sepulveda.

Born in Atami in 1941, Yuji Ohno started learning the piano at a young age and formed his own band during his teenage years, getting into Jazz in the process. After high school, he entered the prestigious Keio University in Tokyo and played in the revered university big band alongside two other pianists, Masahiko Sato and Hirosama Suzuki, who would have an illustrious career in their own right. After University, Ohno became a professional musician and started playing with the new wave of Japanese Jazz musicians forming his own trio and recording with the likes of Hideo Shiraki, Terumasa Hino and Masahiko Togashi from 1967 onwards.

At the turn of the 60s, Ohno started to veer away from the Jazz scene as he realised, as told to Nick Luscombe that "the jazz music being played by the Japanese at the time was only chasing the cutting edge, and was ignoring the roots and origins of jazz." Ohno therefore shifted his efforts to film and TV and also to producing artists for various Japanese labels, becoming one of the most in-demand composers, arrangers and producers in Japan. This is when Ohno developed his unique sound across a wide variety of styles. More than anything else, he got renowned for his anime soundtracks, particularly with the Lupin III series - represented here by the superbly funky "Silhouette" - which made his fame in Japan

Whether it's jazz, funk, disco or Pop, the "Ohno Sound" is unmissable both in terms of melodies and arrangements, on a par with those of such legends as Quincy Jones and Michel Legrand. Ohno's melodies are sophisticated yet accessible and there's a great sense of space in his productions especially when it comes to slow-burning grooves as heard on "Kirameku Inner Space" from the cult anime soundtrack "Captain Future" or "The Soaring Seagull" from the sought-after 1975 album "Electro Keyboard Orchestra." This album was recorded with seven fellow musicians including Kentaro Haneda and Ohno's old friend, Masahiko Sato and using twenty Korg synths to create a unique blend of futuristic jazz funk. "The Soaring Seagull" could be the perfect embodiment of Ohno's signature sound when it comes to instrumentals. The producer was however equally at ease with producing lush disco extravaganzas such as "Subterranean Futari Botchi" by Nanako Sato or "I Wish You Love" by Hatsumi Shibata, a revamp of Charles Trenet classic, both colourful and glitzy.

Ohno's versatility is on display here with a couple of jazz vocal tracks, "Speak Low" by Ann Young accompanied by the Yuji Ohno Trio and Mieko Hirota's fast and furious "I Want to Be Happy" while he also excelled at crafting gorgeous mellow songs such as Ken Tanaka's "Lilac-gai No Aki" and Hatsumi Shibata's "Mouichido Kikasete" closing the selection on a perfect note. "Touch" is just a tiny selection from Yuji Ohno's immense body of work and it will hopefully open the ears of Japanese music lovers to one of the most important musician, producer and arrangers of his generation.

The Rolling Stones haben ihr neues Studioalbum „Hackney Diamonds“ für den 20.10.2023 angekündigt. Das Album wird 12 komplett neue Originalsongs enthalten.

Die erste Single heißt „Angry“! Sie erscheint am 8.9.2023 auf Maxi-CD und 10inch mit etched B-Seite.

Sie wurde vom GRAMMY ausgezeichneten Produzenten Andrew Watt (Iggy Pop, Ozzy Osbourne, Miley Cyrus) produziert. Begleitet wird „Angry“ von einem Musikvideo, bei dem Francois Rousselet (Nike, Diesel, Pharrell Williams) Regie führte und die Emmy nominierte Schauspielerin Sydney Sweeney (The White Lotus, Euphoria) die Hauptrolle spielt.

In den letzten Jahren haben die Stones immer wieder auf ausverkauften Welttourneen Rekorde gebrochen und 2016 mit ihrem Grammy preisgekrönten Album "Blue & Lonesome" die Albumcharts auf der ganzen Welt angeführt. Kenney ist eine experimentelle Vokalistin, Komponistin und Lehrerin, die sich auf die transformativen Kräfte der Stimme und die Beziehung des Klangs zu mystischen Erfahrungen konzentriert. Neben ihrer Zusammenarbeit mit Oren Ambarchi, Tashi Wada, Avey Tare, Alvin Lucier, Sarah Davachi, dem Ensemble Nist-Nah, Sunn O))) und zahlreichen anderen ist sie bekannt für ihre Aufführung indonesischer Vokalmusik (Sindhenan) und persischer Vokalmusik (Radifs) sowie für ihre eigenen Kompositionen, die Elemente beider Musikrichtungen aufgreifen. British Sky Empire is back with their second album "The Shifting Tectonic Plates of Power - Part One". This time has Jeff Scott Soto (Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Talisman, Journey) taken over the position as vocalist, and he is doing a fantastic job. The album will surely appeal to fans of both 70´s, 80´s and 90´s eras of progressive heavy rock/metal, but also to the fans of the new age spotless equilibrism of prog-artists, like Tesseract, Haken or Vola.

Techno House Connoisseurs are back with another storming EP of various artists for dance floors worldwide. This V/A features some big hitters in Phoreski and Felix Dickinson as well as San Diego's Terry Jasinto, Seattle's Lock and Hammer and LA's Praus. Phoreski's Kyoto Dawn leads the way with it's deep and euphoric vibe floating along leaning deep and etherial in all the right places.

Felix Dickinson follows up with his remix of Phoreski's track bringing the 303/acid into the forefront building it into a monster chugger complete with droning synths and 808 accents. Look for a sweaty frenzy at the climax of the track!

San Diego's Terry Jasinto makes his THC label debut with a tech house gem that pumps and weaves with it's dynamic drums and synth stabs. With several nice subtle layers of acid throughout, it is perfect for a high energy dancefloor.

LA's Praus continues to produce deep and complex tracks for THC records showing he has an ear for unique programming. His release, "Heedful" quickly gets your attention delivering haunting synths and beautiful acid lines in the cosmic fashion only Praus can deliver.

Seattle's own Lock and Hammer rounds out the EP with an unusual and quirky burner that intrigues and delights in a wealth of analog glory. Built for a warehouse, the artist has let loose a track that will glimmer on any loud system doing a number on your head/psyche in the early hours.

Denn die beiden Gründungsmitglieder David Pfister und Christian Fuchs (beide vom Radiosender FM4) wagten etwas Riskantes. Die Buben übersetzten das ikonische Debütalbum von Velvet Underground komplett ins Wienerische. Wechselten die legendäre Andy Warhol-Banane auf dem Cover mit einer Wurst aus - und übertrugen die Atmosphäre des New York von 1967 in das Wien von 2015. Düstere Parallelen wurden ausgelotet. Flirrende Gitarren zum Klingen gebracht. Spirituelle Verwandtschaften mit Lou Reed, John Cale und Nico zelebriert. Die Platte wurde inzwischen zu einem viel beachteten Klassiker der deutschsprachigen, alternativen Popmusik. Für die deutsche Tageszeitung ,Die Zeit" beispielsweise ein Album des Jahres 2015. Total Touch was the Dutch duo of Trijntje Oosterhuis and Tjeerd Oosterhuis that infused music with a unique blend of smooth vocals, jazzy harmonies, and funky grooves. After the quintuple Platinum debut album, the follow-up was a guaranteed success. The album is a mix of infectious R&B, pop, and experiments with rap and dance. This Way entered the Dutch album top 100 at number 1 and immediately went Gold. That year the band made their first serious attempt to take their success beyond the Dutch and German borders. The band entered the US Billboard Dance Chart and were nominated for an MTV Award. Eventually, "This Way" became the band's swan song, with another mega hit in the form of "I'll Say Goodbye". In the end, This Way turned out to be the final studio album by the Dutch duo.

2023 marks the 25th anniversary of This Way and is therefore available on vinyl for the first time as a limited edition of 750 individually numbered copies on gold coloured vinyl. The vinyl package also includes an insert.

This two-time Grammy nominee’s career has taken Cidny from singing back-up on tour with Elton John, working with Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, and singing three lead vocals on the “Grease” movie
soundtrack to having nine critically acclaimed solo albums, including the award winning Somewhere Between Heaven and Earth. Cid’s friends on the albums include friends Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda
Williams, Steve Earle, Bryan Adams, Emmylou Harris, Delbert McClinton, and Sir Elton John himself.

Cidny has also co-written many Country songs in Nashville, including Radney Foster’s hit “Hammer and Nails”. Since 2007, Cidny has been one-third of “super-group”, The Refugees with Wendy Waldman and Deborah Holland. In 2011, Cidny made the difficult and daunting decision to start transitioning from female to male, from Cindy to Cidny. He has written and has been performing his one-person theatrical show Somewhere Between: Not An Ordinary Life all over the U.S. An award-winning documentary short about his life called The Gender Line screened at major film festivals around the world from 2019-2022. Cid will be releasing his first album as “Cidny Bullens” Little Pieces in the fall of 2023. Takeo Moriyama, Japan’s leading jazz drummer, loved by many new and old fans. Since the late 1960s, he has swept the free jazz world with the Yosuke Yamashita trio. After leaving the group, the radiating heat was condensed into an ensemble, evolving and deepening the musicality in a more melodic and rhythmic direction. And that activity will reach a peak in this work “Smile”.

Steve Overland ist eine Legende zu Lebzeiten. Gibt es überhaupt jemanden da draußen, der seinen Namen nicht kennt? Seine Geschichte reicht bis in die späten siebziger Jahre zurück, seine erste bedeutende Aufnahme erfolgte 1980 mit der Band "Wildlife". Nach
dem Ende von "Wildlife" gründete Steve die Britische-Kult Melodic-Rock-Band "FM", eine Band, die im Laufe der Jahre viele großartige Alben veröffentlichte und bis heute erfolgreich ist.

Steve hat sich ursprünglich mit Escape Music zusammengetan, um den Leadgesang für das Boston-Tribute-Album (ESM 081) zu liefern, auf dem er 'Amanda', einen der Höhepunkte des Albums, sang. Steve arbeitete auch mit Steve Morris von "Heartland"-Ruhm zusammen, um vier "Shadowman"-Alben aufzunehmen, die alle in der Rockgemeinschaft hoch geschätzt werden. Cardiff-based, DIY-folk-pop collective, Quiet Marauder, are set to release their 5th album at the end of October 2023. This follows on from their madcap 111-song debut album, MEN (2013), as well as the more recent Tiny Men Parts (2020) and The Gift (2021), and continues their long-established relationship both with their label, Bubblewrap Collective, and Canadian collaborators, The Burning Hell.
Recorded in a Snowbird Studios pop-up in Lourinha, Portugal, Introducing Malcolm Del Monte continues the band’s fascination with high concepts and musical, album-length storytelling. At its core, it is an album about self-identity, isolation, and our innate fluctuations as human beings. Set during the pandemic, the album's a very loosely autobiographical (read: almost entirely false) account of band leader Simon M. Read's day-to-day life during Covid lockdowns with partner, Kadesha Drija, and imaginary friend, Malcolm Del Monte.
Choosing to largely avoid the topic of the pandemic altogether, Introducing Malcolm Del Monte instead charts the highs and lows of these living arrangements. These range from outrageous daytime drinking (high) to disagreements on the nature of perversion (low), with the first half of the album covering Malcolm’s emergence and ultimate expulsion from the house. With his absence being sorely felt, the second half sheds light on the alternative voices looking to fill that Malcolm-shaped space: a murderous green giant; a despondent Milk Tray Man; and a broken-necked, hypersexual Jet from Gladiators.
As with their previous story-based albums, the foreground narratives act to enable background allusions to other core concerns: the power of nostalgia; advertising and cultural consumption; well-being and isolation; balancing acts of the self. Ultimately, the album’s message is of striking a balance between self-questioning and improvement, and most of all, not being too hard on yourself when things don’t feel quite right.
Sonically and seamlessly ranging from alt-folk to industrial synth to melodic indie-pop, Introducing Malcolm Del Monte covers a lot of ground. Injected with the musicality of Quiet Marauder themselves, as well as Canadian kindred spirits, The Burning Hell, instrumentation includes flute, piano, chunky bass, acoustic and electric guitar, programmed beats, synthscapes, bamboo clarinet, bongos, and a heap load of vocals. Indeed, alongside the main lead voices of Simon M. Read, Kadesha Drija and Malcolm Del Monte (Rowan Liggett) there are guest performances from My Name Is Ian and The Burning Hell’s Mathias Kom.

Daylight Saving Records will release Blowdry Colossus, the new solo album by Field Music"s Peter Brewis. The record is Peter"s first solo venture since 2008"s The Week That Was and follows collaborative albums with Paul Smith (on 2014"s Frozen By Sight) and Sarah Hayes (on 2019"s You Tell Me). After impressing with recent outings on the likes of Chocolate Star back in September, KNOE1 is back with a fresh new EP that is for DJ Use Only. This one on Truseschool Ltd kicks off with 'Inside Out' (Boogie dub), a fresh take on a classic tune you may well know if you dance in classy places. It's a timeless cut with gorgeous vocals and hip swigging drums and finger claps that oozes warmth and soul, not to mention lush strings at the breakdown. Flip it over and you will find 'Feels So Good' (Diskomix) which his more uptempo but no less full of magical groove and disco dazzle. Another great outing from this ever more vital artist.

Lil Uzi Vert’s long awaited ‘Pink Tape’ album is available now to stream on all platforms. The Spanish-Dominican label led by the Spanish Sergio Parrado and the Dominican Jee Bear presents its Lmtd series, where art, design and music go hand in hand. A collectible series where each reference is a piece of a mural by the Argentine designer Lucien Le Grub, this being the first of four.

This first reference is the work of Chilean Alejandro Vivanco (Cadenza, Melisma) who joins forces with fellow Chilean Dorian Chavez (8bit, Viva Music) to bring us this incredible “Dabtrack”.

The original cut (A1) is to go back in time, return to the essence of the mid-2000s where artists like Luciano or Ricardo Villalobos put the Andean country in the eyes of the world with their organic micro house. “Dabtrack” is about this, but with a renewed sound, where the organic and the digital embrace to create an intense track, with fat basses that will make the sound system rumble. Special synths that catch you to create a magnificent sound collage.

The A2 is for the master master and lord of the deep sound. We are talking about the Romanian Mihai Popoviciu, who brilliantly reinterprets the track and takes it to his own terrain, but without neglecting the essence of the original and giving it his particular groove that works so well late at night. The groove, together with the set of synths, which elaborates it magnificently, makes his remix of Dabtrack” an indispensable work in the DJ's suitcases.

Now it's time to close this incredible album. For this we have reserved the entire B-side for one of the Chilean artists who has left the most mark in the last two decades on the international electronic scene: Pier Bucci. He takes us on a 12-minute journey through his signature style where anything can happen. Little more to say, we invite you to discover it for yourself. Because it is a work of art.

UK dance music antagonist Works Of Intent redefines big room techno on ‘Richer Sound’, an album sampler with four new tracks to accompany the digital release of his album of the same title which features with six

all-new tracks alongside six cuts previously released on Laurent Garnier and Scan X's COD3 QR label.



Works Of Intent is a vital voice in the underground who champions the sounds and stories of South Asian creatives in his role as Project Manager and Visual Designer for DAYTIMERS. He has also written multiple essays on race, class and privilege in the industry while laying down expressive sets across four decks at key clubs like fabric, Panoramabar and Rex. His emotive, storytelling sounds have come on labels like Turbo, Rekids and Monkeytown, and outside that, he's a go-to mix engineer for some of the UK's most exciting prospects.



‘Richer Sound’ features six tracks previously released on the label’s Various Artist EPs and six brand new offerings that avoid tired big room tropes. Gone are the snare rolls, white noise risers and kick drops, instead Work's operates under the mantra of "big tunes for big hearts" where musicality makes the motive. The artist himself has taken care of the artwork, mixing and mastering and says of the album, “It’s melancholia turned up so loud you can’t ignore it. It’s a deafening barrage of emotions designed for super clubs. It’s unsubtle, it’s unabashed, it’s unrelenting, and it wears its heart on its sleeve. It’s unmistakably a work of intent.”



Cars and motorsport have been a recurring theme in previous Works Of Intent releases and appear again here in 'Left Unseen', which has the high octane, death-defying adrenaline of rally driving perfectly transposed into a big room techno experience. ''Old Ways, New Mistakes' bounces boisterously with stadium-sized kick drums and synthetic mourning that will break hearts across arenas. 'Dreamt I Saw You' takes fawning imaginations to lucid heights with a synthand cymbal pairing designed to get you stargazing in the club.



‘Richer Sound’ is just the sort of expertly-crafted, genre-busting work of emotional and physical potency you would expect from such a restless nonconformist as Works Of Intent.

Rare late 80s reggae/dancehall heat coming yet again on DINTE sub-label 333. This time it's the turn of Hugh Maddo's Pop Style LP. Recorded in Jamaica at Byron Lee's Dynamics & Herman Chin-Loy's Aquarius studios for the Bronx-based Jamaazima label in 1987, it is issued here under license from co-producer and label owner, Nami Harmon. The record features a host of celebrated and renowned musicians incl. Winston Wright, Bobby Ellis, Carlton "Santa" Davis, Dwight Pinkney, Willie Lindo and Mikey "Boo" Richards amongst many others - alongside the sublime vocals of Killamanjaro's Hugh Maddo aka UU Madoo. A must.

Ed Nine returns to Chez Damier’s Inner Balance label with the third part in his The Journey series, as ever foregrounding the most classic of house sounds. Chicago from his head to his toes, Ed’s signature nods to the Windy City greats while pushing things forwards with fresh sound design and his innate musicality. From the bright and sunny melodies on ‘Nostalgia’ and ‘Time Will Tell’ to the driving bump and groove of ‘Not On The Radio’ and ‘There’s Always A Chance’, Ed establishes his credentials alongside the best of them.

After a quarter-century hiatus, the legendary jungle artist M-Beat has resurfaced with Mekatune, his newly established label. Mekatune serves as a platform for unveiling not only his extensive back catalog but also fresh, innovative material from himself and other luminaries of the jungle music scene.

This is the limited edition yellow vinyl release of this record, capped at 150 units. Both the white sleeve and the vinyl have been handstamped to give the release an early 90’s recordshop feel.

‘Body’ is an unreleased track that only made it to dubplate back in 1994. A very sought after tune that has gained mythical status over the past 30 years. The flipside is the Tim Reaper remix of the classic M-Beat track ‘Peeni Porni’ and it could be argued that this is one of the best remixes Tim has done.

A1 - Theia

Opening his Spatial account in an historic release for the label and a moniker dormant for over 25 years, JLM Productions opens the EP with Theia - a track which will take you right back to early Progression Sessions days - delicately introduced with blippy effects and hi hats, ushering in crisp metallic beats and relaxing padwork. The track develops continually with soothing melodies and amens added into the mix, resulting in a stunning and varied collage of finely tuned elements that never sound too busy to the ear - JLM Productions, welcome back!

A2 - Derealization

Changing things up while still showcasing the ability to combine a crazy level of detail into a cohesive mix, Derealization is a suspenseful, slightly moody track with JLM Productions laying down distinctive snappy breakbeats and sudden, fierce bassy hits, with tension rising from the eerie synthwork to envelop the listener throughout a track which demands repeated listens and will surely do damage on the discerning dancefloor.

AA1 - Quadrature

With a vibe reminiscent of his output in the mid-90's Reinforced era, JLM Productions drops Quadrature which takes that inspiration and brings it right up to date for Spatial in 2023, effortlessly combining synthetic breaks with understated echoing bongos, restless wavy notes and old school melodies punctuating the immersive atmosphere of the piece. This one thoroughly deserves pride of place in the "old school brand new" club.

AA2 - Translight Velocity

Continuing the old school theme, Translight Velocity quickly shows it's intent with inspired off-key notes before a lesson in joyous 90's style breakbeats leaps out of the speakers - not a single head in the room will be still with this on deck! Bouncy basslines and finely crafted drums from a variety of break samples jump around chaotically, sending your mind to the dancefloors of old in a way that feels incredibly fresh today

Toronto label Selections has become a firm favourite with house heads and now starts a nice sideline with its Special Edition 2023 series. This one welcomes Lea Lisa with her track 'Conversation Between Us' (Heide Club Mix) which is straight up underground house for the heads. Then comes an unreleased Javonntte remix of Evenn's 'One For Love' that pairs things back to raw dub essentials. Dan Only's 'Love Saturates' then gets a fine and formerly unreleased remix by Italy's Black Loops that has pristine drum programming and a fine bassline. Add in Sean Roman's jazzy dancer 'Sir William' and Jamn Ensemble's 'Convection' and you have a timeless house EP.

Short Attention has more than grabbed ours with its first two EPs and this third one keeps up that good early form. It's a heavy-hitting mix of pivotal house talents starting off with prolific Windy City player Boo Williams.

The big man's 'Transformation' is a smooth and chord-laced house roller that has a more reflective vibe than his usual party-starting offerings.

Atlanta don Kai Alce's 'Love Exists' is a heartfelt house romance then the long-time partnership of Owen Jay & Melchior Sultana douse us in star-gazing chords on 'Soul Expression' that leave you feeling refreshed. Hector Ram's 'Morning Sun Vibes' then uplifts with beautifully gentle piano chords.

The album is a beautiful ballads collection featuring stunning new renditions of beloved standards including “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered,” “Old Folks,” “My Funny Valentine,” “Someday My Prince Will Come,” and “Blue In Green,” as well as a cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You” and the vocal feature “Paris” with John Splithoff. The album was produced by David Foster and features performances by violinist Joshua Bell, pianist Taylor Eigsti, guitarist Gilad Hekselman, drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, and others.
