DJ Haus Enters The Unknown is a yearly compilation looking back at the last 12 months of UTTU releases - some obvious highlights but emphasis on overlooked b sides too. It's also an opportunity to work with friends outside of the UTTU label by including exclusive collaborations and tracks from the UTTU extended family. In a few more weeks we can spin these sought-after obscurities once again. We gathered four quality cuts, each with a unique vibe made for the dancefloor or your ritual of choice.

In their ever-expanding search for good electronic belters, Forbidden Dance Records went into building a bridge between two continents responsible for so many good artists in the last few decades, with some of them being true legends of the house sound. From Detroit to Napoli and Marseille. From Zurich and Bari to Chicago. Ladies and gentlemen, this is ‘Bridges: An American – European Dance Connection”

freshly repressed ! The pairing of Andreas Baumecker (nd_baumecker) and Sam Barker (Voltek) seemed almost destined to result in some outstanding music. The fruits of a friendship and production partnership closely founded upon their love for more experimental dance sounds, the 'Candyflip' EP introduces the pair's debut output.

Basic Rhythm returns to his Jungle roots for his final release with Planet Mu. Harking back to the golden era of the mid 90s, but with a contemporary slant, Basic Rhythm hands in three dance floor killers, with a remix from the grim reaper himself, Loxy. The titular track, Cool Down The Dance, opens with a jittery fragmented drum pattern and wooshing stereo effects, lending a slightly disorienting feel to the intro before the well known vocal refrain leads into a monster amen drop. Deep subs, amen breaks and steely stabs roll out this dance floor banger. This is followed up with an absolute behemoth of a track. Horse Mout’ utilises an infamous vocal sample in a fresh way, building upon the intro with waves of dubwise effects before launching into a devastating onslaught. With support from scene stalwarts DJ Storm and Flight this one has been smashing up dance floors! The third track is a remix of Cool Down The Dance by Loxy, bringing his inimitable cool production style to the fore, stripping away the amen layers to reveal something for the darker corners of the dance. One for the head noders and the eyes down crew. The final track, Satta, is a nod to the dub of Augustus Pablo, King Tubby, and On U Sound. A slow boiling minimal intro that drops into the extreme minimalism of just a kick drum and sub bass line belies the swagger of the eventual drop. Swinging drums in an almost military pattern tumble and stagger around the core line of kick drum and sub bass, lending this an almost drunken air.

Dirty dirty, old old... And fresh harsh noisy tunes from the Motormouth familly !

The title track combines Denham's skilled break surgery and Groovy's abilities as a garage technician to make the weight driven A side "I'm Ready". Over on the B Groove kicks off with "Come With It Again" his textbook UKG sound creating a propa little treat for the ears. Denham rounds it up with a barrage of breaks on the hardcore piece "Fhloston Paradise".

ES-Q Brings us another 4 tracks of other worldly, synthed out, drum machine club cuts with his latest outing on his own label PARALLAX UNKNOWN. Giving us all the bleeps and weighty basslines we come to expect from the label, direct from its Sheffield roots. Fellow sheffield-er and Klasse records regular DJ STEVE is part of the crew with a stomping acid remix!

For the second release of the label, romanian artist Puxumos is invited, with a remix from the magician Vlad Caia.

Having had a busy 2018 Spring/Summer season performing at clubs and festivals all across the world, the drum & bass duo SpectraSoul return with brand new music to continue the Ish Chat Music saga, picking up from where their critically acclaimed album 'How We Live' left off. The 'Silence EP' features four hugely in demand tracks that have been making waves during these past months, from the brooding sparseness of 'Untitled Horn' to the soul searching of 'Faithful', this is yet another essential SpectraSoul selection.

Now the full 4 track EP lands on 12" vinyl and full colour artwork.
This release includes two heavyweight bangers not on the dubplate: The dark acid breakbeat and club destroying sub drops of 'Total Carnage' and this year’s summer piano anthem to finish them all 'Hope This Makes 7th Sense'.

These two tracks alongside the huge 'Chaos Is A Ladder' and 'I Really Know We Can Make It' make this a 'Break-glass-in-case-of-emergency' record.

Duper, the new release from Morgan Geist, is a not-so-subtle callback to his 2001 EP, Super. "I was working most days with Kelley Polar on our new vocal project, Au Suisse, which isn't really dance music at all," he explains. "I started fooling around with these instrumental tracks at night for fun. Each track was in a different style, but they seemed to work nicely as a group. By the time I asked Kelley to contribute strings to the A-side, the record really started feeling like the sequel to Super."

Super Duper ­- get it?

Indeed, the playful synth riffs and sweeping disco strings of "Twilight Express" echo the palette of Geist's cult classic "24K" and early Metro Area. "Black Test Car" is a unique collision of minimal, almost Krautrock-style drums, sound library textures and spacy electro percussion. Meanwhile, "Feeling Is Mutual" is a rare acid outing that pushes beyond the usual comfort zone, the 303 acting more as feather than hammer on top of major-key modulations. "I love a lot of Aphex Twin and I love sweet, "quiet storm"-style R&B," says Geist. "I figured, why not?"

It's 18 years ago now that Paul Mac found his mission into dj'ing and 10 years that he laid his foundation stone as producer. Since that, Paul Mac recorded tracks for over 30 labels and with nearly 100 releases now to his name it's probably fair to call him an inveterate artist of the scene. The past couple of years have seen Paul's profile raised dramatically thanks to his high profile releases on Primate, Intec, Primevil, Phont or on Ben Sim's label Ingoma. Paul Mac's first album "Old School Former Pupil" was released in 1998 on Fragmented Recordings and five years later his second album "Push Came To Shove" on Primate. In Septemer this year Paul will release his third album "Defined By Association" on Ingoma and besides the traditional labels as usual also his first 12inch on Kanzleramt. Paul's "What Are You" sounds really mental and all four tracks are energetic floorfiller, have their own qualities and it's just a question of your individual choice which one rocks the crowd!

A full round kick and jack style upbeats are all that's necessary to support the deep, modulated synth lines that travel through lush plates of reverb. Alberto Pascual hits a homerun with his remix that will move any club, festival, or warehouse party. Project 313's remix supplies moving synth lines are stripped down and replaced with driving rhythms and pulsating bass making this a superb techno offering. The Plankton remix turns up the tension with warehouse style percussion and intertwining rhythms complimented by science- fictionesque stabs and pounding bass.

The 'Circle 2' EP is an essential piece of Detroit minimalism. Detroit veteran Len Bartush (Mutate) returns to advance the series that began with the now classic 'Circle 1'.

The EP starts off with Mutate's 'Circle 2' (Machined) original. A full round kick and jack style upbeats are all that are necessary to support the deep, modulated synth lines
that travel through lush plates of reverb, creating an atmosphere perfect for any techno desire from dance floor, to living room, to headphones.

Alberto Pascual hits a homerun with a remix that will move any club, festival, or warehouse party. Big room percussion, moving sub bass, and funky rim shots compliment the dark synths from the original.

Project 313's remix delivers with an interpretation that celebrates the true spirit of the original. Moving synth lines are stripped down and replaced with driving rhythms and pulsating bass, making this a superb techno offering.

Produced by George Nowak, a German musician who ended up in the Cayman Island in 1971, aka the Barefoot man. “What a heat” is a dreamy slow paced disco cruise (with obvious reggae influences) highly suggestive of the beautiful nuances that might be part of West Caribbean island life. With the opportunity of more playtime allowed on the 12” format, an attempt at further prolonging this dreamy feeling is made with an extended edit. On the B-side, a Calypso bonus beats style edit by Castro takes a few bars of the original B-side “Phyllip's Calypso” and turns it into a tripped out dubby dacefloor DJ tool. Original artwork with commercial advertisements on the backside. Faithfully restored and remastered for your listening pleasure.

Uun returns to his imprint Ego Death with an EP that showcases his progression in both sound design and atmosphere. The A side kicks things off with On The Concept Of Irony, a broken beat assault which serves as a mission statement with it's scattered snares and vocal samples. The Tangled Web continues this mood but with a more intense structure, heavy on hypnotic synths that weave in and out of the tracks percussive framework. Where as the A side is the logical extension of the first three Ego Death releases, the B side serves to showcase a deeper atmosphere while maintaining Uun's preference for dense arrangements. The Other features a haunting ethereal pad that floats above a broken kick pattern and a bed of clicks, pops, and field recordings. The closing track, Absurd Existence, forges all the elements of the artist's sound into perhaps his most melodic work to date. After 12 years into the production of electronic music, this is the first vinyl release of the Spanish artist Atonism... in full effect!

For its third installment, Luminære is proud to introduce one of its own. Long time friend of label’s boss Daïf, frenchman Laurent is in charge for this release, delivering his debut EP “What goes on inside”.


Residing in Tokyo, Laurent is a familiar face in the city’s underground techno scene where he seeks inspiration among the many talented DJs and producers the city hosts. LUMI03 is an introduction to his musical sensitivity, shaping his many influences into something personal.


The EP starts with Target Locked, an energizing 4/4 banger filled with stabbing arpeggiators merging into a powerful rumble. A2 follows with Synapses Overload which develops a dark, eerie atmosphere punctuated by high pitched synth to create a mesmerizing track


B side starts off with One More, probably the most dancefloor oriented track of the four, with robotic synths building up an engaging melody over a warm bass line. Finally, B2 features the more minimalist Won’t you listen. Its groovy drums and powerful bass combined with anxious pads and synths create an intoxicating melody.

'I find it hard to talk about my music, but the concept of this mini album was to strip my music back to the sounds I'm drawn to most. There's no attempt for a club banger, no obvious singles, no vocals just a collection of tunes that drift and are searching for something.

NOMADA WHITE Pt. V is a six track Split EP, where SofaTalk & Last Nubian deliver three originals tracks each. On the A side; SofaTalk will blow our minds with three broken beats and jazz infused masterpieces where he joined forces with Singer INBAL and keyboardist Veezo. On the B Side; Last Nubian makes his
return to the label with three impresive soulful deep cuts alongside Dougan on B1 Farewell Boogie and Sweet Fruity Brunch on B3 Brown Be My Caller.

When hearing this material today and realizing it was originally released in '96, one can't fail to acknowledge the timelessness of these sounds – clearly illustrating how ahead of their time these productions were. Ranging from 130 to 145 BPM this EP presents a solid study in synthetic rhythm and percussion layers masterfully juxtaposed with unidentifiable electronic noises and nuances. A trademark sound signature of their own. Unmistakeable Spiral Tribe from a special era in party culture brought back when we need it the most – forward the revolution.

What can be more pleasant than the release of another record on YOI's birthday! Especially when this record brings together so many great musicians and so many incredibly cool vibes!

This time the music on the record covers five countries at once - the Netherlands, Italy, England, France and Mexico! An exciting journey around the world awaits us, and since we can't do it physically right now, let the music help us do it!

The journey YOIONWAXOO5 starts in the Netherlands, where very talented lad Kreech grabs us and takes us further and higher with his Wurlwind. Then back there in the Netherlands, but with Italian character and charisma, another young and very talented musician, Tommaso Pizzelli, takes us with him, giving our journey a funky fun with Funkytarro. On side B, we'll move to England, where another powerful artist, Tom Spark, is already waiting for us to reveal the power and meaning of the journey we're taking, putting us face to face with Padre. And after that, we find ourselves on two continents at once with two great musicians Jizz from Mexico and Thurman from France, who teamed up to show us the immense and timeless Time Division.

All this journey is accompanied by YOI's signature classic animated artwork, hand-drawn by label boss Watsche, which everyone is obliged to see in person, at the moment when the record is spinning and the music is playing. Don't forget that all you need for this is your phone, a camera on it, and a flash on.
