This is what excites them so. Red soil, blood and ash. Fearless bees buzzing with life drink greedily and are rewarded with silence. Spanning proper techno artillery, Trance riffs and noise excursions, ’Melody Depleted’ expands on the ruffcut but classy ideas put forth on her tapes and 12”s for the likes of Peder Mannerfelt Production, Börft and Jacktone over the past half decade. It serves a broad but singular showcase of her ability to generate club punishing rhythms, barely-tamed electronic noise and surprisingly sensitive ambient space probes that revel in electronic music’s capacity to evoke fine spectra of technoid feelings with a say it-without-saying-it instrumental finesse.
In an emotive arc that takes in crude, rushy rave futurism (‘Im Laughing’) thru to dark, bolshy industrial tekkers (‘The Harm That I Dream For You’) and an outstanding nine minute finale of deep distance ambient hypnagogia (‘Hypnic Jerk’), Isabella’s first album most deftly transposes a sense of pre-millenial late ‘90s techno warehouse dread into a world dealing with its own register of worries. And like the work of Jasss, Nkisi or Helena Hauff, Isabella proves highly adept at translating the most vital, if elusive, aspects of her reference points with a totally fearless, up-to-date but timeless swerve.
Big hitters like the Peder Mannerfelt-esque breakbeat techno ballistics of ‘Roll Doll’, the wide-eyed, doomy trample of ‘Organ’ and the Stingray-meets-Colin Stetson styles of ‘Take One And Two’ share space with full on EBM techno boosters in ‘Send’ and ‘Mind Tear’, while the roiling synth noise of ‘Mnesia’ and the Drexciyan organism of ‘Through The Kitchen’ diffract her vision into adjacent areas of experimentation that make for a murkily transfixing album experience rather than a collection of rave tools. It’s a dead gritty course for lovers of electronic dance music that gets direct to the feet and leaves bits between your teeth.

Nahash lands on Shanghai’s SVBKVLT label with his debut album, a frenetic re-mapping of dembow and junglist blueprints made in the image of the label’s wild and thrilling programme, featuring a collaboration with Osheyack plus remixes from Elvin Brandhi, Gabber Modus Operandi and DJ Plead.
Following a crazy run of releases from 33EMYBW, Gooooose, Slikback & Hyph11E, GMO and others, ‘Flowers of the Revolution’ almost feels like an updated mission statement from the label; a wild and futuristic tangle of opposites inspired by the legacy of U.S. interference in South American politics, deploying a rhythmic energy that feels angry and vital.
It’s an Amen-heavy landscape disrupted by a world of incongruous sounds like some colossal babushka doll revealing layer after layer of angular and liquid rhythmic structures, from the symphonic strings and clipped gun reloads on opener ‘The Horns’ to the adrenalised dembow mutation “A Secret Christian Influence” and the more brooding sci-fi swagger on ‘Pluie Éternelle’
On the remixes, Elvin Brandhi enlists Kanja from Nyege Nyege Tapes’ soon to be unveiled Duma project for a brilliantly unhinged sci-fi jamboree that reminds us of the wildest and most exhilarating end of the DHR spectrum, Gabber Modus Operandi turn ‘A Secret Christian Influence’ into a stripped, prism-pushing KuduroXGabber fantasy, and DJ Plead provides the biggest highlight here on his closing ‘A Better Future’ refix; a widescreen, sub-heavy anthem with signature Mahraganat drums and fucking amazing sidechain pads that makes for an almost misty-eyed finale to the dance.

Where the album explores slower, melodic taraxho and R&B, Nídia’s 12” is built strictly for the rave with four tracks of proper dancefloor shapes made in her own style of electrifying body music compatible with heat from Nigga Fox to Nazar and the kind of style you might hear in a Shannen SP set.
‘Chef’ boots off royally with militant snares and rave fanfares locked to a churning technoid flow somewhere between Kuduro, Baile Funk and EBM trance, while ‘Hard’ rolls out on a stentorian, rictus march recalling vintage UKF, and ‘Jam Master’ strikes up high intensity trance riffs synched to industrial strength rhythms a la Nkisi, and the tumbling drums of ‘Munun’ sidewinds off along rhythmelodic vectors recalling a tempered Shackleton piece or a prime, deep Peder Mannerfelt workout.

Time flies when you're having fun! Now is the time to look back at the success of the last years, which have included a couple of overall number one records. The label has enjoyed signing and growing together hand in hand with some of the biggest names in the scene like Mat.Joe, Superlover, De La Swing, Illyus & Barrientos. A label from friends for friends! The tracks have been remixed and edited by Claptone, Purple Disco Machine and Audiojack to name some hightlights.

Completing the trilogy of releases in collusion with graphic artist Oliver Sperl, Belgian techno producer ED1999 chooses to nish on ORIGINAL SIN EP, a 4-track dark ex- periment of audio-visual harmony, complete with blasting industrial beats and doom- metal growls.
Original Sin EP hits you from the get-go with PANDEMONIUM, a track saturated with industrial reverbs and dark echoey vocals circulating around a central, elastic bass. PANDEMONIUM achieves a distinct energy, the anger and tension injected into the mix still coming through crisp and clear.
STRAIGHT OUTTA HELL follows up with a gloomy, dissonant piece with a thudding kick line pervading through a wall of metallic drones and distorted growling. The track emanates a bleak, nocturnal timbre, giving off a feeling of unfeeling cold and isolation.
The B-side opens with EVIL DISORDER, a cosmic, atmospheric take on the EP’s di- stinctly melancholic theme. Stuttering percs grate against the cold-steel sound of clashing metal structures to create a manic, alien sound accentuated by the roaring, tubular bassline rushing around in circles like a particle in the LHC.
THE FURNACE is the nal track in the nal instalment of this trilogy and serves up a twisted nale of harmonic robotic bass interwoven with a static, tension-inducing array of synthesised madness, creating an ominous obelisk of massive and miniscule movements. The track delivers one more guttural sonic blow before retreating back
to the lonely pulsating winds on which the track began.
ORIGINAL SIN EP marks ED1999’s third audio-visual collaboration with Sperl, who handles the graphics and cover art to accompany the music. The pair worked in tight co-operation, taking great care in melding together their respective music and gra- phics into one conceptual form. The EP will be released on PORPAX Records, marking the label’s fourth entry onto the scene.

Bringing together two heavyweights of Techno was always going to result in something extra special and Systematic Recordings have done just that as label chief Marc Romboy joins forces with Tokyo based Ken Ishii on the epic Album "Taiyo." "Taiyo" with its cinematic atmospheres combined with futuristic Techno rhythms (as you would expect from them) is much more than just another electronic Album. It´s a trip, a journey, a catching dream sequence, with other words a long player expressing the concept to combine the creativity of two minds from two different culture areas, that is to say Germany and Japan. Marc: "Cooperating with Ken has been an incredible time and new experience to me. He came up with ideas, sounds, sequences and melodies I would never have had. Drumcode returns with its 6th installment of the internationally celebrated A-Sides series. Renowned for fostering a shared space between industry tastemakers and rising talent alike, the careful curation that goes into each volume is a fine example of why Beyer's brand continues to go from strength to strength.

Techno titan Adam Beyer has grown Drumcode into a force to be reckoned with; the label has become synonymous with forward-thinking, functional techno and even after 20 years, Drumcode continues to find new boundaries to push, and ways to solidify its legacy as the world's number one techno label.

2017 is no exception, with Beyer's imprint hosting it's first stage at Tomorrowland, not to mention the expansion of the critically acclaimed Junction 2 where the Drumcode stage is the centrepiece and Adam plays the key role of festival director. The Drumcode phenomenon continues to grow each week, chiefly fuelled by Drumcode Radio, Adam's radio show that's broadcast in 57 countries via 86 stations and to a global audience of 16 million techno fans per week.

The A-Sides series acts as a perfect vignette of Drumcode's cutting-edge sound; functional yet inspired techno, all tracks tried and tested by Beyer himself. Vol. 6 continues this tradition with a collection of 16 multi-faceted cuts from a mixture of both emerging artists and experienced label friends.

The heart-throbbing bass in Amelie Lens' electrifying piece 'In Silence' sets the tone for the dark and dance-floor-ready energy that Vol.6 carries the whole way through. Other standouts include Mars Bill's rough'n'ready 'Mohave'. Pulsating and precise, 'Mohave' has highlighted many of Beyer's sets recently as has Wehbba's monster track 'Fake', which fans have been anticipating the release of all year.

Label-favourites Dense & Pika also feature on 'A-Sides' Vol. 6 with their hard-hitting 'Just a Beat' and a huge track from Beyer himself who has joined forces with Enrico Sangiuliano to bring us their undeniably infectious 'Preset Heaven'.

With many more notable selections from the likes of Julian Jewell, Timmo, Tiger Stripes and Pig&Dan, A-Sides Vol. 6 is another impressive addition to the label's prolific release roster and a testament to why Drumcode remains at the forefront of the electronic world.

Today burgeoning band Drew X Hill announce details of their second stunning EP 'Bullets', revealing the first track by the same name, and the tracklisting for the EP in full.
2014 saw Groove Armada Deliver an exceptional Italo 90s piano house remix for 'Talk To You EP' which was heard at every festival and terrace during the summer...'Bullets' is slated for release in May on their label home of the forward-thinking Born Electric, which is headed up by DJ/Producer James Zabiela.
Lead track 'Bullets' is sparse, beautifully influenced by the likes of Royksopp, Moderat, Imogen Heap, Shlohmo & James Blake whilst Michele's vocal's are both haunting and compelling.
Hailing from Denmark and Cologne respectively, Michelle Drew and Philipp Hill's paths first crossed in an unlikely city on the South Coast of the UK. Their style is hypnotic, off-kilter and deeply rooted in electronica with the added edge of Michele's beautiful vocals; forming songs constructed from the heart that will later be complimented with some very special remixes made for the dancing feet.
