This October sees Jay Lumen drop a new album, appropriately titled 'Lost Tales', via his Footwork
imprint comprised of a medley of productions he's been road testing over this year.

My 'Lost Tales' album is a special collection of unique tracks that I've never released before - tales that were never told. Most of the tracks had been dreamed up previously but never physically written. Some of them may have been started and tested but then stayed in an unfinished phase, never reaching their final form. I've now compiled all of these "Lost Tales" into one massive album.' - Jay Lumen.

Appearing on Drumcode, Saved, 100% Pure and Octopus Records, Jay Lumen has certainly earned
his stripes when it comes to releasing on high-profile labels. Likewise as a performer Lumen is in very
high demand, reflecting on a globetrotting year appearing in Miami, London, Amsterdam, Detroit,
Barcelona and Toronto. The international DJ and producer is now set to drop his debut album on
Footwork, a year after the imprint's launch.

Lumen takes no prisoners from the off, kick-starting proceedings with cavernous cuts 'Pulsar' and
'System'. Tracks like 'Lost Tales', 'Old Machines' and 'Passion 303' are ominous productions built on
muscular kicks and echoing stabs, whereas the likes of 'I Am', 'Quiet Storm' and 'Azure' provide more
atmospheric and mesmerising alternatives.Crunchy snares and piercing melodies form 'Black Stabs', before 'Fallen Angels' reduces the tempo with intricate percussion and a cacophony of synths. The down tempo 'Outer Space' then concludes the package with syncopated drums, tranquil melodies and epic pads.

Electro meets techno EP with heavy remixes from long-time producer Umwelt and 50Weapons heavy-hitter Benjamin Damage. Tbilisi-born & Brooklyn-based Sophia Saze's sound explores eclecticism from downtempo work on Get Physical to upcoming releases across other genres coming out this fall. Dusk & Haze 001 is the debut of a daring experimental label breaking all boundaries of limitation.

After delivering the 8th Polybius Trax's release under Myriadd's alias, Craig Stainton strikes again. And this time he does it under the name of Mantra with 4 tracks of jackin', acid house and acid techno.

Besides publishing as Mantra in mythical labels like Bunker, Solar One Music and Abstract Acid, he has done so in Djax-Up-Beats, Crème Organization, Chiwax, Gnosis, Boe Recordings and many more with his other alias and projects: Acid Phreex, Craig Stainton, Monofonix, Myriadd, Modular Men and Nite Vision.

With this EP "The Seventh Seal" (PT009) and with its predecessor in the label "A New Day" (PT008), shows us of his mastery in the art of invoicing dance music under the different strands of acid.

It obviously had to have a great effect when Kling Klong head honcho Martin Eyerer could convince legendary german producer Patrick Chardronnet (Eve By Day) to spend some common time in the studio. And the result should definitely spank any festival floor this summer.

After releases on the Ninja Tune-backed label R'COUP'D, the mysterious Prequel Tapes surfaces with an EP for Midnight Shift. Composed of 3 tracks and 2 locked grooves, SHIFT LTD 003 fossilises transient moments in between gridlocks of tight grooves. Like a scan of light sweeping surreptitiously across a dungeon of darkness or a blinking throb pulsating from the corner of one's eye, these are the brief but blinding moments of illumination that capture time suspended on the edge of two worlds. Memory capsules slow-releasing an industrial mythos back into the clubbing consciousness. Prequel Tapes is a work of deep synthesis. Teenage recordings orchestrated into densely layered tapestries; a deeply emotional study on a life characterised by a shifting relationship to electronics. The pieces serve as a chronology of desire and reflection, reconciling a nascent passion for industrial music with a history in the club. There is a temptation to draw comparisons to Mark Leckey's excavation of UK rave culture, Lee Gamble's junglist memories or the hauntological approach of the Ghost Box label, however this is clearly a personal trajectory aesthetically distant from an English past. Oscillating between utopian to claustrophobic, the evolving synth work, deep techno atmospheres and traces of the clangorous energy of early European ambient and industrial tell a distinctly German tale, forged between the forest and the autobahn.

We present the Decay debut of TIJN including a killer remix from Pezzner. Label boss of In Haus Wax & self titled TIJN Label, both vinyl only outlets, & Digital Label Deep Edition Recordings, UK-born TIJN has been making house records since 2007 as Martijn but more recently as TIJN taking a more direct analog approach in the studio. Recently he has dropped a string of releases on labels such as Overall Music LTD Isgud Records & WORX topping vinyl buzz charts . 2014 saw TIJN start his own eponymous label, with the first vinyl-only 12" release featuring French master Djebali, being played by the Francophone-trio Apollonia also gaining support along the from Tuccillo, Ryan Elliot and DJ W!ld. An ccomplished producer as well as DJ, TIJN has played alongside renowned selectors like Steffi, Jordan Peak, Sossa and Dyed Soundorom, playing his own particular take on house and techno.

Originally initiated due to its 10th anniversary in four parts throughout the year 2015, Kittball Records now continues the limited vinyl series each quarter as a Best of Kittball' special edition reflecting its most successful tracks within the past period. Having the inside tips from January till March on the spotlight, the first edition in 2016 includes originals by Demarzo with a track from his debut EP and P.A.C.O.'s Beatport-charting collaboration with Return of the Jaded on the A-side. Three tracks similar between eachother (Melantha, Sol y La Tierra, Silos) are characterized by rythms of percussion, drums, bass, voices with tropical melodies that create a harmony of perfect dark club sounds that transmit at the same time a peacefull feeling. "Una Flor" is concentrated on an atmosphere of pianos, guitars and afro rhythms greatly mixed that make this track so fresh and summery.

Port zieht alle Register, deutet seinen Percussion-Fetisch an, cuttet die Vocals, dass es eine wahre Freude ist, verstärkt die Snare genau dann, wenn es drauf ankommt und lässt sogar mal ein Surfgitarrenlick aus dem Nichts auftauchen, wenn ihm nach einem extra Quäntchen Coolness zumute ist. Hier werden Soulfulness und Peaktime-Eignung so konsequent verschnürt, dass die angesprochene Suche nach der ganz besonderen Liebe in den nächsten Monat relativ einfach abzuschließen sein dürfte. Nämlich überall dort, wo dieser Joint als eine der denkwürdigsten Nummern des Abends eingesetzt wird.
Die B1 rundet diese Motto-Veröffentlichung inhaltlich bestechend ab, denn mit - I Love You' ist hier das Stück enthalten, das bereits in digitaler Form, erschienen auf Souvenir Music, so manches Herz erobert hat, nun aber auch erstmalig berührt, behutsam aufgelegt und in all seinen knisternden Grooves aufs Physischste angebetet werden kann.

The realisation of KM013 - a catalogue number that might cause suspicion here and there - is up to the always unerring Adam Port. But no need for superstition: this single is indeed a definite lucky pull.
Port is pressing every button here, he's hinting at his percussion-fetish, he's cutting the vocals like a top chef, he's amplifying the snare when it is supposed to give the audience this little extra kick and he's coming up with an unexpected surf-lick, to spice things up with some extra coolness. In 'Someone to Love', soulfulness and peaktime-suitability are melted that consistently, that the addressed search for love will be an easy one within the next months. Love can be found on all the floors, this sureshot will be pumped on.
B1 is rounding up this almost thematic release quite perfectly. It is Port's renowned 'I Love You', that has been winning hearts already in its digital form on Souvenir Music. From now on, it can be even touched, it can be gently put on a turntable and adored in all its physicalness.

The Square and Compasses (or, more correctly, a square and a set of compasses joined together) is the single most identifiable symbol of Freemasonry. Both the square and compasses are architect's tools and are used in Masonic ritual as emblems to teach symbolic lessons. Some Lodges and rituals explain these symbols as lessons in conduct: for example, Duncan's Masonic Monitor of 1866 explains them as: "The square, to square our actions, The compasses, to circumscribe and keep us within bounds with all mankind". However, as Freemasonry is non-dogmatic, there is no general interpretation for these symbols (or any Masonic symbol) that is used by Freemasonry as a whole.

Fabian Winkels and Ben Balance's Ho Do Ri project has been responsible for some of the best minimal house workouts of the last two years. Hopes are naturally high, then, for this first appearance on Mariano Mateljan's Split-based u.dig imprint. Happily, they hit the ground running with A-side "Fu Giunta 007", where fluttering, dream house style synth melodies and becalmed ambient chords wind their way around a chunky, bass-heavy tech-house groove rich in bustling bass and outer-space electronics. Their minimal instincts come further to the fore on heads-down flipside "Flood Shella", which peppers a hypnotic, locked-on groove with Villalobos style electronics and mind-altering electronic effects.

The A side is all about the stripped down, raw and energetic Techno of "Hermes" and "Pegasi". On the B side, "Opportunity Rover", an hypnotizing, acid-driven trip at home in sweaty dark rooms as much as in big festival arenas. Another one to bag.

Snork Enterprises welcomes Niedeflur with 3 new tracks of the cologne duo. NIEDERFLUR (Hannes Wenner and Christopher Bleckmann) are among the first acts on M-NUS since the early days. Sharing eight years of the labels history, NIEDERFLUR-releases have come a long way from the first series of 12"es, inspired by the Cologne Subway system, appearing very fragmented and conceptual, to their highly regarded releases such as "DIN","TYPO EP", LUMEN EP (Archipel) and the latest highly acclaimed "NEUE HEIMAT EP" on their own label NIEDERFLUR TRACKS. Working together on their music for over twelve years, Christopher and Hannes never went for the easy option, always staying true to their very own sound-universe built around ground-shaking basslines and forcing drumpatterns. Their constantly lucid sound, known to be very defined and deep, has experienced some major development to a more impulsive style over the years. The experience of performing live profoundly changed their approach to their NIEDERFLUR productions embracing whatever mood there is to find in a club and building their sets from there. Focused, intense, somewhat radiating dark light and stacking intricate sounds high into the night skies, NIEDERFLUR finds a way to push things forward without driving the listener away.

Let's be frank: I'm a Prins Thomas fan boy. It is not a secret and therefore there is no reason to hide it awkwardly. So, when he asked me to write something about his second solo album (unmistakably called 'Prins Thomas 2'), the smart Norwegian knew that I wouldn't come up with any cruel things to say. The good thing is: even if you are not a fan boy or girl, you won't find any of those here. 'Prins Thomas 2' is stunning from start to finish. While its predecessor and his album works with Lindstrom took care of the krauty, rocky, brainy and 'real musician' side of things, the man from Oslo goes back to the starting point of his recording career: one man and his idiosyncratic way of making people dance.

The seven tracks on this LP or the eight on the mixed CD (including two bonus tracks) owe as much to the traditional methods of house or techno and extraterrestrial disco (I shipped around the 'S'-word here) as they disregard it and they are as characteristic to Thomas' studio space (I used the 'S'-word here) and his sound aesthetics as they are to his infinite will to surprise. Directly from the guts of the man behind Full Pupp, Internasjonal and a gazillion of tailor-made remixes, you get to hear joyful reminiscences of the late and great Arthur Russell in 'Tjukkas Pa Karussel', nasty drum jams like 'Flau Pappadans 1', 'Bom Bom' or the Perkmiks of 'Bobletekno' next to the sheer and untainted beauty that is 'Symfonisk Utviklingshemming'. The spirits of these recordings are light-hearted, sincere, a joy to listen and dance to and cumulate in an album that deserves the name. Whatever the train is called that has Prins Thomas at his helm, you better get a ticket.

Foresight is a various-artist curated series that features 4 different artists and/or tracks each time with accompanying highlights on the process and inspiration behind each piece. TrueColors is a music label that channels artist's most honest version of their creations and share it with the world through vinyl and digital platforms. The label is based between Brooklyn and London and was established in 2016.

VEX, DMO In anticipation of the forthcoming 'Function - Recompiled' package, due out towards the end of the year, Infrastructure presents VEX/DMO, three tracks from two of David Sumner's lesser known alter-egos. Produced between '98 and '99, the tracks were originally released separately on 2 different 12's, and now come together, re-mastered on INF-014. 'VEX-1' is Sumner's rightful slice of historic Brooklyn House pie, amongst contemporaries like Joey Beltram, or the output of labels like Nu-Groove. Made while living and working at the now infamous music building in Manhattan, with synthesiser mecca Rouge Music downstairs, the track is a great insight into what was going at the Inanimate Objects studio during that time.
The DMO sessions were a nod to the more spaced out, string laden Deep House that resonated out of Chicago towards New York, but was also readily available at clubs like Shelter. Both 'Fifteen' and 'Movement' have capture a certain dreamlike quality, and offer a rare chance to hear another side of the producer we now know best as Function. The record received heavy support from the likes of Timmy Regisford, who made it a Shelter classic, playing it every Saturday at the club for four years. The original pressing was also one of legendary East Village record store Dancetrax's biggest selling 12's of that era. Now some 15 years later, it's re-mastered from the original DAT sessions and graces the entire B side of INF-014.
