The next release on our label comes from our dear friend Franco Cinelli from Argentina. Franco is one of the main artists and pioneers of electronic music in his country and also has been working as a DJ outside of Argentina for many years now. Besides the fact that he is a very talented and super tight DJ, Franco also has been releasing some impressive music over the past years. We have been following his productions for quite a while and therefor we are super happy to finally welcome him on board of our label with this truly great release.

Having released on numerous imprints such as Dom and Roland productions, Mindtech, Tam, 20/20 LDN as well as being praised and supported by artists such as Noisia, Dom and Roland, Ulterior Motive, Xanadu, Foreign Concept and loads more, we at Concussion records are very proud to present an extremely versatile, Moscow based producer, Mr. Frenkie.

We start off straight with the rolling 'Respawn' that feels like you're floating into an endless dream, before it breaks down with a techy stab buildup, which eases into the drop perfectly. Rolling drums and crashing hats fill the heavyweight, subby landscape before being knocked back by the technical prowess of Mr. Frenkie's sound design.It breaks down into the second act of the dream in which you don't know whether to feel relieved, or be on your guard as the next drop sneaks up on you.

On the flipside we have 'Tire Fire', splashy snares and breaks in a steppy groove, countered by floaty stabs set the mood for the tune. Going into the drop the groove becomes ampli- fied by crunchy reeses which makes sure you bounce your way across from left to right. Carefully crafted breaks bring the track back into a switch that amplifies the bounce to more rave orientated sounds. After that we ease out to the breakdown in which we casually prepare you for another round of fire.

Vast and cinematic. Inigo Kennedy's refined, courageous sound continues to be a definitive element of Token's output. A thundering kick becomes ripe with swelling strings followed by a bright, wistful lead and long, suspenseful breaks that take the track to filmic levels of poignancy. Glacier is more measured in its expression, with icy keys playing out a restrained sentimentality over a serene, earthy groove. Voyager is energetic; crisp and crunchy percussion melds into an ever-moving melody that wavers in and out of the foreground.

Overdraw is back this time with Kaelan. The artist in charge offering two original driving techno cuts with some huge remixes from P.E.A.R.L. and Fundamental Interaction. Vinyl only release.

Randomer & Clouds combine for the first Headstrong release

After teaming up with Sawlin to deliver a series of spacy Texture' works, dubbed 'Foreign Awake Pt.1 & Pt.2', Subjected returns to Electric Deluxe this time in searing solo guise. Known for his thundering, no-holds-barred basement style, which until 'Foreign Awake' was kept purely to his cloistered Vault Series outlet, with 'Dolor' we see the industrial edges polished smooth in this rotund and rolling three-track EP. Krupp' opens in typical rumbling Vault fashion that builds into a gargled mechanical reprieve and back again. On the B-side, Dolor' applies Subjected's rusted signature to a groovy subzero bassline and blue-note melody, the EP's duly crowned peak-time lead. Wute' then concludes with the sort of venomous hypnotism followers of Electric Deluxe should be familiar with by now, albeit this one has a more scuffed and tarnished appeal. Then for the digital fans, Zopiklona' presents a slightly cleaner, bleepy bonus track with one killer charged drum crescendo.

Boddika's Nonplus label will release a series of 12-inches mixing classic Source Direct with new remixes.

Jim Baker is a pioneering drum & bass and jungle artist who's been recording solo as Source Direct since 1999 (before then the project was a duo with Phil Aslett). On June 8th Nonplus will issue a 12-inch that has a Blawan remix of "Black Rose" alongside the 1996 original. That'll be followed by a record featuring '95 cut "Approach & Identify" backed by a remix from Demdike Stare. These release will be available on vinyl and digital formats—it'll be the first time the original tunes have been available digitally.

"I first met Jim around '97/'98 at The End nightclub in Central London," Boddika told RA. "I wasn't sure who he was when I first met him. I thought he was one of the guys from Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels at first, but soon realised he wasn't. By that time I was an avid listener of anything Source Direct were doing and their tracks were 'buy on sight' for me. The Source Direct discography was in many ways a blueprint for lots of jungle/d&b that would come throughout the following years and has stood the test of time unbelievably well."

He adds: "There are a few reasons why we decided to re-release and remaster the SD Recordings catalogue, the first one being that it's never been available digitally before. The second is that we both think it's something that needs to be heard by a new generation who have never had the privilege and who may not own a turntable. Some of the records are hard to come by these days and if you do find them on Discogs, they'll set you back a few quid.

Thirdly, it's something we've spoken about a few times over the last couple of years and I personally thought now is a better time than ever to unleash this project, especially as there's been a growing interest in old jungle recently—it wouldn't be right to leave this music out of the loop! We also wanted to breathe new life into the project by getting remixes done to accompany the original tracks. We decided to ask artists from different scenes and genres to make use of the samples and get their interpretations on the original music."

More remix 12-inches will follow, culminating with most of the Source Direct back catalogue, much of which has never been made available digitally, being remastered and re-released. We spoke with Baker via email to discuss the project.

What are your thoughts on having your music remastered and reissued for a new generation of listeners

I'm extremely excited about working with Boddika. This gives a new generation the chance to own tracks that haven't been available until now and also introduces the Source Direct sound into the techno/deep house scenes—music I've always been a fan of and an avid buyer of since an early age. I always felt my music was ahead of its time, even within the early years of D&B. The Source Direct sound has always stood out from the crowd and I've consistently pushed myself creatively to produce original, cutting-edge club music that also sounds great within many other listening environments. So to release the original Source Direct tracks for this new generation who missed the golden years of infamous clubs and raves gives them the opportunity to re-live the excitement and energy I got from going out in my younger days and the chance enjoy that buzz of getting your hands on a new vinyl release.

What do you think of the Demdike Stare and Blawan remixes

Blawan's remix of "Black Rose" perfectly captures the dark tensions of the original track and uses the samples in new creative ways, which make a stomping techno track that retains the menacing visual concept of the original. Being the first artist to remix a Source Direct track is something I was looking forward to, and Blawan has certainly produced a great remix. Both the remix and the re-mastered original sound totally fresh and unique among current techno and D&B.

Demdike Stare have completely ripped up the script with their remix of "Approach & Identify," taking it into realms I never thought possible. It transports you a million light years away, upon which you enter new worlds of imagination. You can only hope for a wormhole 'out there' to return to normality. I'm very proud of both these releases and am looking forward to letting the future projects free within human kind.

Certain sounds inspire us, certain sounds move us, and certain sounds simply propel us deeply and immediately into a place where everything else becomes irrelevant. The latter is the vein of sonic manipulation that can be found on "What One Sees", Sta an Linzatti's latest workout for Chronicle. A prelude
to a forthcoming album, Linzatti has once again shown his incredibly ability to morph time and space to his liking. From the pressure cooking low end in "Brink of Collapse" to the dissonant twilight zone antics of "Just A Thought", Sta an works his way through inner space nding the perfect balance of tension and release, discord and resolve. The resolve comes during moments like "Nobody Observes The Ordinary" and "Passing Ceres", which harmonize subtle yet intricate patterns with chimerical synthwork. It's a vast feat, and a warning bell for the incoming musical architecture that we are so grateful to share with you.

The fourth episode of D.A.N.C.E. (Detector for Advanced Neutron Capture Experiments), the various artists series of Attic Music, presents only italian artists. On A side UNC shows us his vision of techno with an obsessive sound track. Distorted drums and dark pads for the second track by Assalti Industriali (Luciano Lamanna and Cosimo Damiano). On B side PVS writes a real journey with a ten minutes track where 4/4 and broken beat meet pads and melody.

In an era where electronic music increasingly favours rhythmic patterns and sound
textures over classical harmonies, it is with a musician s sensibility and a sound
engineer s technical skill that Cologne-based producer and DJ Ferdinand Gr tz aka
Ferdinger embraces the Zeitgeist and pushes beyond the boundaries of contemporary
techno.
Ferdinger s debut album Gel nde, to be released on vinyl and digitally in June
2017 off his newly founded label Life in Patterns, can be understood as
soundscapes or terrain . Across six tracks of deep, forward oriented techno
intensity, the listener travels through enthralling soundscapes and sonic fields.
An heir to the influencers of German minimalism and the defining dark techno
atmosphere of post-Y2K Berlin clubs, with his personal and sensitive touch
Ferdinger displays a new and unique voice. Gel nde takes us on a captivating
45-minute voyage with a well-balanced mixture of hard hitting yet never aggressive
kicks, tantalizing ever-evolving stabs and soothingly nuanced drops after
minute-long buildups. Never monotone, 4/4 and 3/4 time signatures form an
impeccable framework for increasingly subtle rhythmic variations, including
Reichesque phasing techniques, with late-night snares trapped in a quilt of slick
layerings. Beyond galloping beats and occasional echoes of a well-adjusted 909
clap industrial textures take us back to trancier times without the kitsch of 90 s
big room dream-tech.
Ultimately, listening to or spinning any of Gel nde s tracks will be an intense,
energetic and atmospheric techno experience. Ferdinger s debut lands a clever
banger, perfectly crafted to indulge your ear drums and inflict maximum damage on
the dance floor. This is not your average oomph-clap!

Lossless Music's leftfield sublabel Exkursions is back with it's second vinyl release. EXKUR002 features the incredible talent of James Morton aka Concealed Identity. After hearing James' 12" on Narratives Soul Intent tracked James and proposed James remix 'No Answers' which is did in amazing style. James also offered up a stunning brand new solo track called 'Zahir', a 7 minute journey into cinematic 170BPM. Soul Intent finishes up the 12" with a 140BPM garage/bass music monster called 'Tribes' via Odyssia alias.

When hitting a streak it's best to keep going. For a prolific producer like UBX127 one EP just wasn't enough to keep up with his continuous output of high quality techno. Constant Permutation Part 2 picks up where its predecessor left off and provides for another batch of deadly club weapons. Living up to its title, beatless Explorations sends out eerie signals deep into outer space, anticipating with suspense to maybe find some life form's response. It arrives in form of driving track Felt and its ricocheting, arpeggiated synths, which would aptly soundtrack the decent of alien attack ships on our planet. Weighty, yet mysterious Örnsberg seems to echo with the cries of long lost souls that have been trapped eternally inside its icy caverns. The EP ends with a masterclass in immersive sound design, a constant ebb and flow of layers, winding their way into the listener's subconscious. Filling up a pair of twelves to the brim with tunes this well thought out and executed, UBX127 further displays his vast potential and leaves us with excitement for whatever he might be coming up with next.

As a preemptive strike before Soma unleash their specially commissioned compilation, Transmissions Glasgow, we are proud to bring you one of the highlights from this as two of Scotland's biggest techno exports, Slam & Gary Beck, come together for Pressure Lights. A track celebrating Slams long running club night Pressure, that has been at the centre of Scotlands Techno scene for almost 17 years. Big room beats and furious snares are the order of the day as the 2 techno titans deliver a monster track designed to destroy any dancefloor.

Finefood records and Benjamin Fehr are doing it again! One of the most talented producers of our time, teams up with the Swiss label in true techno tradition. This tightly controlled production is purposely built to enhance the dance floor with masterful, artful soundscaping. A tech hit if ever there was one. The first remix is produced by the talented Argentine artist Hernan Bass for the Swiss label, Finefood Records, he has done an amazing job. After stripping the track down to it's bare essentials, he kept the underlying tones and transformed the track into a more percussive melodic track, which any self respecting Dj would love to play. German mix-master Benjamin Fehr partners up with Alien Visa for this 7th production on Swiss label Finefood records. Growling and menacing, this duo reveal a dark side to the dance floor which can drive any electronic music enthusiast into fervor. Saccaded baselines reveal their talent. Thomas T and Anish are back again, collaborating with their favourite Swiss record label in this translation of Benjamin Fehr's Alien Visa original track remix. Nothing is lost in this translation, on the contrary, a 3rd dimension is added, transforming this track into true techno, spoken by all.

First Various Artists Vinyl only for Hangover, Italian based label. For this vinyl the label presents Giuseppe Cennamo (owner of the label) with his Vademcum, then Yanee, already known producer from Argentina, and then on the B side we have Alessio Viggiano, one of the most talented minimal producers from Italy, and the newcomer Dub Capsule with his pure classy tune No Certain.

Roman producer (and a force behind MinimalRome label) Valerio Lombardozzi known as Heinrich Dressel returns to Barba with a second release for our label, titled "The Styx Swamp". Heinrich has a unique way of combining classic techno and electro sounds with elements from the beloved Drexcyan universe and John Carpenter leitmotifs, and making them come together in a manner that both moves your body and pushes your mind beyond the point of awareness. As with the previous record, "Lurking Underwater", here he pulls off the move with the same efficiency and without sounding like he's repeating himself. "Gray Slope", "Sailing The Nether Waterways" and "The Styx Swamp" are all quite moody and deep, rich with sound and thick with vibe. However, the tracks feel equally at home in 4 am techno situation and a heady afterhours affair. He truly is a master of crafting hybrids whose influences get so flawlessly embedded that it's hard to point them out. If that's not enough, "The Styx Swamp" got a treatment by Nigel Rogers aka Perseus Traxx, a multi-faceted producer and a mighty live act performer. Nigel stayed respectful to the original but made the original's bouncy groove into something more direct and reduced, while retaining the same feel conditioned by lead synth's hypnotic quality. We're known to give a little bit of extra love to our releases so (as all before) this one's pressed onto a heavy duty 180 gram vinyl and beautifully packaged in an original artwork by EmaEmaEma.

The third release on this imprint is an EP from a fresh talent from Bucharest called Lixir. The EP starts with ''Sunshine'' which is a melodic track, nice soundtrack to the after. It then continues with ''Fleut en Scarlett'' referring to both the flute in the track and the soundcard used during the production of the track. The B side starts with a nice counterpart to the light tracks on the A side in the form of the more heavy and straighforward ''Cleptoman''. To top off the release COSMJN made quite a spheric and spacey remix of ''Cleptoman''. NIMMA003 is played by Barac and Suciu.

Nandu returns with full force on OFF Recordings with Glömde, a high strung melodic techno cut consisting of one original track and two revamps.

Rolling into a broad groove from the get-go, Glömde is a tightly knit Tech House banger that brings together firm percussion and melodic synth thrusts. Singer Tyra's delicate vocals, at times whispered, add an extra layer of harmonies, making the track even more compact and entrancing.

Netherlander techno craftsman Love Over Entropy delivers a spellbinding remix, stripping down most of the original elements and reverting the focus onto the percussive backbone. Seemingly straightforward, LOE reconstructs the initial groove, rebuilding it up with industrial details and a raw,
ample sound esthetic.

An artisan of deep house reworks, Manoo explores Glömde's house appeal. Kicking off with a tribal percussion lead that stays centered throughout the cut, Manoo's remix brings out the track's versatility and plays on its spaciousness.

House hit makers MOTHER RECORDINGS are back with another tight two track package. This one comes from the label boss NHAN SOLO, a real house talent with plenty of great singles and EPs in his back catalogue, most often on his own great label.

Opening the release is SHOW ME LOVE, a deep and groovy number with nice piano chords rolling over slick house groove. Power female vocal add fuel and emotion to the fire and the whole thing really casts a spell on you.

BROTHERS KEEPERS is on the flip and is another kicking house tune with sleek metallic drums, great percussive tension with smart kills and filters, and clipped vocals that inject real warmth and soul. Both cuts carry on in this Berlin based producer's fine tradition and are sure to get plenty of dance floors on their toes in the coming months.

miNIMMAl movement continues the Romanian vibes on it's fourth release with two solid tracks from Oprea Timpu on the A side. On the B side there is a spaced out remix from the Dutch Roger Gerressen who's from the same city as the label itsself.

Intacto Records' co-owner SHINEDOE is back for our 58th vinyl strike with the second strong remix pack of Road 777 EP  SHINEDOE's unique vision of electronic dance music, combined with her talent, dynamism and pioneering spirit have acted as a springboard, propelling her to the forefront of house and techno global club scenes. Internationally recognised for her personal fusion of sounds and genres to create warm funky grooves and always full of surprises.After the success of Shinedoe's latest release 'Road 777 EP' on Intacto Records, she has invited an impressive line up of producers to reshape tracks of the EP.Part 2 features 2 remix versions of 'Inside Your Mind'. First remix version is treated by Berlin based MILTON BRADLEY marking it with his emotive intense characteristic sound. Second remix is done by BEN SIMS; with his own distinctive blend of tough funk and warping hard Techno grooves.2000 AND ONE puts a stamp on Shinedoe's 'Road 222' with his cutting edge 'old school' Detroit Techno signature style.

For the fourth outing of The Mekanism's WORX label, Sishi Rosch makes his debut with a highly infectious acid house EP that comes saturated with raw grooves and powerful rhythms. With releases on labels such as VIVA MUSiC, Heidi presents Jackathon Jams, Get Physical and more under his belt, Sishi Rosch has been a force to be reckoned with in the underground house scene. Worx 04 comes jam packed with menacing 303 bass lines and robust drum ensembles which can be easily compared to the early 90's seminal Chicago days where ghetto and acid house ruled all clubs. Easily one of Sishi Rosch's most avant-garde releases to date and making a clear statement in impulsing him in the top-tiered acid house world echelon.

Having sprinkled her magic on 'Herbert's Finest 06' earlier this year, one of techno's most distinctive vibe evangelists returns to the Monaberry family fold for her first full label release: Bebetta.

Monabetta: it's the perfect match... Like Monaberry's output, Bebetta's joyous unpredictability ensures a blindfold ride into sensory abandon with not so much as a whiff of preconceptions, formula or rigidity.

'Uppercut' is less of a punch and more a slo-mo disco karate chop where stars and rainbows appear on impact. The uncompromised kicks and thwacking eight-bar snare snap your senses while the pensive one note riff, bulbous bass and cosmic synth weaves gradually climax into a Detroitian piano-smashing riff so evocative you could just lose your shoes.

'Shimmy' brings to mind oceanic ripples, which swell progressively and a timeless arpeggio, which ebbs, flows and occasionally bursts into full bodied bass before breaking out into an illustrious build where ghostly vocals mirror the sea's glimmers in an agelessly classic way.

Remix-wise Monabetta is packing equally serious heat: Viktor Talking Machine play the quintessential Street Fighters with an 'Uppercut' version that pummels with a juicy 808 and a short sharp break into the heavenly piano hook. German Brigante flips the switch on 'Shimmy', too, twisting our focus on the creepy crawly bass and pure epicity of the chords. Finally Lowertones bossman Leix adds a softer focus to 'Uppercut's emotional narrative and more of a jacking swing to the drums for a shorter, subtler journey.

Two sublime originals, three fittingly stunning remixes: Betta get on this one quickly...

Following 2014's 'XURE' EP, Dutch producer Doka returns to FORMAT with a fresh four-track release including a remix by fellow techno luminaries TWR72.Carved out of no-nonsense techno grooves, the EP is another prima example of FORMAT's trademark: bold, stripped-down techno designed for peak-time clubbing moments. The title track blends in classic Detroit synths to powerful Tresor-style grooves, after which TWR72 give it a playfully experimental makeover. 'Lommer' throws in a pitch-black cut that's heavy on the bass while cleverly mixing in progressive house elements, while 'Dam' closes things by adding a lovely hypnotic twist to this release's content.
There's no denying: this eighth FORMAT release has all the ingredients to ignite some serious floor carnage...

Since the release of his debut 'Hyph Mngo' that swept the global dance music world in 2009, British producer Peter O'Grady (aka Orbison) makes his return on Hotflush Recordings as Joy O in 2011. These two productions take a more straightforward approach, toeing along the lines of classic house music, infused with this talented producer's own signature style, weaving rolling acidic basslines in 'Wade In' and uplifting melodies in 'Jels' and over shuffling Roland drums and blissful atmospherics.

The 9th release of Lanthan.audio will present you the sound of the Los Angeles based duo Motionen.

The audio/visual project created by Carlos Matamoros (a.k.a Altrd Being) and Matt Salamone presents its solid reputations on dancefloors throughout the City of Angels with growing response and more shows to follow at the whole us ground and over it boundaries. Furthermore they founded their own label Ascetic Limited last year with a very promising path already.

Also we are glad to welcome back Claudio PRC for a interpretation of Motionens 'Erudito'. Claudio is part of since the very first release and so a inherent part for Lanthan.audio.

Cinematic Recordings is proud to offer up a debut to accomplished live artist and organic sonic landscaper Edanticonf with its next EP.
Born Edoardo Zerbinati, Italian Edanticonf has been active since 2010, releasing journeying, evocative techno EPs and a fine full length on labels like M_REC LTD, Eclipsemusic and the much loved Silent Season label. EP opener 'Siren' is a clean and crisp, melodically rich and musically enchanting bit of prime Planet E era techno. It's a perfectly produced, widescreen bit of sound that places you right at the better as all sorts of celestial pads and melodies colour the expansive sonic skies above: as such it really is an experience and a journey. 'Mermaid' is buried a little deeper, emerging from warm, rubbery drums to offer up trance-inducing chords that stream uninterrupted from start to finish. Nebulous melodies also swirl below, soothing mind, body and soul as they go and reminding you just how breath-taking techno can be in the right hands.
Lastly comes 'Syrizo', another spine tingling, head turning bit of supine techno that is riddled with rich and rounded melodies that glow like fire flies in a dark night sky. Pads as harmonic, bliss and beautiful as this don't come along too often, which is a shame, because the effect of them is truly mesmeric.

With this EP, both Cinematic and Edanticonf continue in their mission to offer up classy techno sounds that work on your heart as much as your heel, and as such excel together as a result.

Wolfskuil Ltd returns after a hiatus of a year with a heavy hitter from Italian sound designer Edanticonf. This vinyl only release is a very personal statement from an artist known for his deep, dreamy and dare we say trancey take on electronic music. He made his mark in the music scene through pivotal releases on Silent Season and M_Rec Ltd.
