Following her brief stint touring with pop legend Prince in Australia, Delilah is pleased to unveil details of her next single 'Inside My Love.' The single will release on 16 July through Atlantic Records to coincide with the release of her debut album, 'From The Roots Up', which will follow two weeks later.
'Mix Tape' will be released on July 2nd as a taster for the forthcoming single and album.
The Ltd 12' EP (500 copies only) contains the Redlight Mix of single 'Inside My Love' plus mixes of previous singles 'Love You So' and 'Breathe' and an accapella version of 'Go'.
'From the Roots Up' is an extremely personal record with every song on the 12-track album being written or co-written by Delilah. Together with her close-knit team of producers (Science, Ballistiq and LV), Delilah created the album's fundamental sound: dark, sparse, percussive, full of tiny details magnified by the acres of space surrounding them, and all framing Delilah's own signature emotive voice as she sings about "love, lust, passion, and falling in and out of them all".
Her debut single 'Go' became a surprise runaway hit scoring her a top 20 hit and a permanence on the Radio 1 & 1Xtra airwaves. Later singles such as 'Love You So' and 'Breathe' demonstrate the quality and sonic variety of her much anticipated debut LP.
Her first sold-out UK tour in Spring received amazing reviews in the broadsheets and culminated in the musical icon Prince even personally inviting Delilah to support him on tour in Australia.
Delilah will be appearing at all the big UK festivals this summer (Lovebox, Wireless, Bestival, Beachbreak Live, Parklife and BBC Radio 1's Hackney Big Weekend) and with her last London show at KOKO selling out at an impressive 110%, watch this space for details of another show coming soon.

couldn't get any better, IM:LTD hired two funk soul brothers to give these tracks a
well-deserved remix and it's not lying to say both of them spanked these remixes.

We often wonder how Zero T manages to find the time to perfect his music with so
little to do. It's no surprise the Irish producer slapped his own moody style into 'Lying
Portraits', as soaring synths and bouncy percussions have now turned this one into a
heavy roller, while still painting the picture of the original.

If anyone has more soul than the KFC Colonel himself, it's Brazilian boy Bungle,
and his crusty remix of 'Soul Truth' is even better than that fried chicken we love so
dearly. Taking the lethargic liquidity of the original and beefing it to a running
dancefloor hit. If the precursor was for relaxation, this is for indulgence.

Luca Lozano is an illustrious musical figure capable of shining light into the night and casting shadows on bright spaces. Also a renowned graphic and graffiti artist, his debut solo album takes a broader, multifaceted approach; moving from slow to fast; textured to simple; from dark to light; 'Life In Black & White' covers new terrain for the young producer that maps his evolution and declassification. Instrumentally adept, Lozano contributes piano, drums and guitar to his debut and effortlessly juxtaposes an array of musical approaches throughout. 'Convergence' samples a recognisable little snippet
from one of our all-time favourite '60s drums: Jimmy
McGriff's 1968 classic 'The Worm'. The tight drum
loop leads things off with serious intention in what
becomes one of the darkest, deepest, most
rumbling D&B work-outs we've been smacked in the
face with for some time! The track's eerie intro
effortlessly drags you into the looming heavyweight
drop, and the expertly programmed arrangement
provides unrelenting energy throughout. The track
blew us away on first listen and was an instant no-
questions-asked signing for the label!
'Borealis' flips the script completely in comparison
to the A side, and is a much lighter themed affair
from this outstanding production trio. Expect a more
musical synth-led journey on this one, packed with
intricate drum shuffles and shifty bubbling b-lines
aplenty. This is D&B as we know it, at it's finest....

ODD Daisuke comes from Hiroshima, is able to jump higher than two meters while rapping and produces technocratic electroclash as ODD. Bosem is a guitarist and bass player extraordinaire, but hates rehearsals. That is the reason why he does not join Torpedo Boyz on stage. Kurtis Bo lookes like Bonnie Prince Billy, lives in the woods and runs his guitar amp on solar energy. Together with Borat he is the rhythmical backbone of the band. Borat, the newest member of the collective, plays drums and loves The Beatles. A good explanation for his haircut.

What happens when NY Ballroom House meets UK Grime and Funky This EP is one man's answer to that. Having previous released EPs on Dissident, NTRX and Little Rock as The Niallist, Manchester based producer, club promoter, DJ and journalist Niall Connoly unveiled his new CVNT persona in 2012. Along with his writing on the scene for the likes of Boing Boing, Red Bull Music Academy, The Skinny and Dangerous Minds, CVNT is Niall's avenue to pursue his love of all things ballroom and vogue related.


The first CVNT quickly found favour with DJs such as Hannah Holland (Batty Bass), JD Twitch (Optimo), Bok Bok (Night Slugs), Dan Beaumont (Dalston Superstore), Severino (Horse Meat Disco) and voguing/ballroom legend Vjuan Allure (Mad Decent). Signing to Body Work (Waze & Odyssey, LPZ, Aashton & Swift etc), Niall has now produced his most personal EP to date, literally his 'Statement', an EP that looks to fuse grime and garage to the Ballroom template and in doing so stake a claim to being an icon, the result is five tracks of raw and incredibly exciting house music.

The Just Reproach documents the second concert given by John Tilbury and Oren Ambarchi as a duo. When they first performed together in Reykjavik, Iceland in March 2012, the aptness of the pairing was evident. When they reprised the duo at London's Cafe OTO in September the same year in the concert presented here, the city was in the midst of a heatwave. With the air-conditioning turned off to accommodate the low volume of the performance, the uncomfortable squirming of the audience members in their sweaty chairs becomes, alongside the occasional dropped glass and cough, an additional sonic element in the duo's performance, providing a randomised accompaniment to the duo's careful exploration of tonal and textural minutiae.

Mind Over Mirrors is the solitary reeling of American harmoniumist/ electronicist Jaime Fennelly. Utilizing an Indian pedal harmonium, oscillators, tape delays, and an assortment of synthesizing processors, Fennelly bends slowly-building, repetitive melodies into massive sonic mountains.

While this is a debut full length for Om Unit, real
name Jim Coles, it is in fact the producer's fourth
studio album, following from work in the 2000s
under the name 2tall. Having reset the clock on his
artistic output in 2010, Coles has spent the past
three years refining a unique sound as Om Unit via
collaborations with Machinedrum on Planet Mu,
releases on Goldie's Metalheadz, dBridge's Exit
Records and Civil Music, his own Cosmic Bridge
label and the short-lived Phillip D. Kick alias that
fleshed out the links between Chicago's footwork,
jungle and slow/fast. The confluence of all this work
takes full flight on Threads.
Across its fifteen tracks Threads articulates Om
Unit's musical journey from his beginnings to the
present. It references his hip hop background, in the
swung out, hypnotic headnod of 'Wall of Light' and
the positive message of 'Just Sayin'', a collaboration

Following a run of four incendiary 12-inches on his own imprint that drew attention from right across the dance music community, UK producer and DJ Paul Woolford delivers Soul Music, his debut full-length album as Special Request - diving even deeper into the raw energy of UK pirate radio influences that informed his previous EPs. Using a studio built almost exclusively from vintage hardware and boosted by industrial-strength EQ and an FM transmitter, Woolford constructs what he refers to as "false memories" - broadcasting his material in order to sample and re-incorporate it in a myriad of different ways. bubbly, aggressive acid line lay the foundations
on this cut. One might think that's all this track is
about, however, WHEEZ-IE throws us a curve
ball in the middle of the tune with nostalgic 90s
atmospheric pads and crunchy metal percussive
FX as a juxtaposition the acid and transports us
from the present into a dark, dank warehouse
somewhere circa 1992.

Peter 'Chip' Jacks is an electronic music producer from Portsmouth, UK. Taking influence from the wide range of music he listens to and the sounds he finds and collects from everyday life, he has created a broad spectrum of electronic styles. After honing his production skills over the last decade, he has found a sound that encompasses music aimed at the dance floor, through to ambient and glitchy electronica.

He has gone through the usual process of DJing from a young age and then taking the natural progression into production, with a love of dance music from early on, leading to a deeper interest into electronic music. Along the
way, he discovered incredibly talented artists, such as - Telefon Tel Aviv and electronic labels such as Warp, which became a turning point in expanding not only his musical taste, but also the style of music that Chip wanted to create.

Currently working on his first LP and various club tracks, Chip has recently been busy in the studio and after spending time trying out different software, equipment and production techniques, has found his style and his music is ready to be exposed.

Black Prince Fury was released to widespread acclaim in October 2012. In anticipation of Rregula & Dementia's forthcoming 'Life On Earth' album on Citrus Recordings they deliver a stunning piece of dancefloor d&b with 'Insects Inside'. Abrasive synth stabs, pounding drums and spacious atmospheres make this one a certified banger not to be missed.

On the flip we find Ukraine based Nickbee remixing 'Ocean Phantom' by Dutch producer MAV. Originally a laid back atmospheric tune Nickbee cranks up the heat transforming the original in something dark, grimey and very well suited for a Citrus release. Excellent material right here!

Necro Deathmort - AJ Cookson and Matthew Rozeik - are the duo that emerged from London's underground doom scene with a sound described by theQuietus as "Veering seamlessly between dub-infused electronica, pounding sludge and experimental noise, their music is as intriguingly fresh as it is furiously grim." Their first album proper, This Beat is Necrotronic, came out in 2009 on Newcastle's Distraction label; and picked up steam as a sleeper word-of-mouth hit until aQuarius Records made the album a Record of the Week. Soon, NDM were very much in demand, playing festivals and touring Europe, and going from strength to strength following their albums Music of Bleak Origin (2011) and The Colonial Script (2012).

The last few years have saw Necro Deathmort play Sonar, Supersonic, Asymmetry, CTM, Soy and Audioscope festivals, as well as internationally renowned doom-fest Roadburn. They've remixed Steven Wilson, Ulver, RA, Dead Fader and Altar of Plagues. It's Jam City's turn to deliver a batch of sweaty, streamlined dancefloor weapons on the 6th installment of the Club Constructions series. The minimalism and intensity of Jersey Club music remains a huge influence on the whole Night Slugs camp, and while Jersey's impact can be felt across the CC series, Jam City channels those devastating ghostly kick drums like none other. Continuing on from where he left off with club favourites "The Courts" the "How We Relate To The Body", Jam drops 5 lean and intense drum workouts build from scrap metal and primed for warehouse use. They move between thudding midrange persistence and just-sub-and-air minimalism, framed by jammed drum machine rhythms and splashes of re-sampled colour. Jam decorates these sturdy and well-deployed undercarriages with silvery detail, percussion fragments, broken talkboxes, whispered vox and simple, beautiful chords.

Back in the late 90s somewhere in Croydon, South London a dark new exciting sound was emerging from the embers of 2step Garage, Drum & Bass, Dub and Grime, fast forward 10 years and Dubstep had mutated into one of the most popular genre's in modern musical history, its unstoppable rise to prominence has been nothing short of incredible and its mass exposure has resonated globally across radio airwaves, festivals and events.

Of course Ministry of Sound has been at the forefront from the very start, releasing the first ever TV Advertised Dubstep Compilation back in 2010 and perpetually documenting the genre's pivotal moments to the present day. Nic TVG avoids the Drum & Bass clichés and unearths a barrage of unheard breaks for the rhythmic template on this, his debut
album. He demonstrates a delicate touch in his manipulations of this material on the intro track 'A Mouse Among Monsters' and also
a maniacal tendency in the insanely chopped nature of 'Friday Nights With Heather' at the death of proceedings. In between, there
are many facets of Nic's repertoire to explore.
There is an unmistakable free-jazz theme running throughout this album and so, it is no surprise to see Nic pay tribute to the great
Charles Gayle and his on-stage alter ego 'Streets' on 'The Clown'. The track encapsulates the sad nature of Gayle's existence as a
homeless person in New York in the 70's and 80's but also his devious musical nature, evident in the way the rhythm steps in and ou
of its regular meter and switches between a number of different percussive palettes at a moments notice.
The free-jazz influence is to the fore again on 'Playing Drums As Pads' where the most unlikely and unwieldy drum-kit patterns are
pushed together and somehow made coherent and compelling. 'Lose The World On An Excuse' promises to remain a little more
regular initially but the pulsing kicks of the intro soon give way to a whirlwind of drums, pitching bass notes and off-key violins for
maybe the zaniest tune on the album!
'I'm Sorry I Puked On Your Dress' sounds like Jazz and Drum & Bass meeting Tchaikovsky's 'Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy'. You
could be listening to the future of ballet right here. Moving on, the title track 'Then I Disappear' is all intense drums, flitting bass
plucks and looping horns. The reversed keys introduced as the track progresses develop a more reflective air which leads nicely into
'Out Of No More' - probably the most introspective track on the album.
Perking things up is 'Sitting In The Crosswalk' which forsakes the jazz overtones to flex a more recognisable Drum & Bass influence
amid an uplifting autumnal ambience. The D&B strains are also much in evidence on 'Let Yourself Be Unknown'. Crunchy amens
cartwheel among stark, sustained atmospherics but eventually gave way to a wistful synth riff before the beats and bass broodily
return.'She Looks Like Marisa Tomei' is interesting for its title but also for the way the rhythms are occasionally ratcheted up a notch
from the steady kick and hi-hat interchanges by the injection of some rowdy funk drums. The low-end bass and stretched wind
instruments work particularly well together in this beautiful blend of breakbeat and blues. 'My Life As A Hairless Aardvark' might just
beat the stiff competition for best track title on the album. It also might just feature the most obtuse rhythm, which is saying
something! And so to the maniacal chopping of 'Friday Nights With Heather'... talk about going out with a bang ! ... and then, I
disappear.

Toronto's Egyptrixx (real name David Psutka) returns to Night Slugs with his immersive second album "A/B til Infinity".

Since his 2011 debut LP "Bible Eyes", Psutka has been busy with various studio production projects as well as recording and touring with his side-project Hiawatha. His return as Egyptrixx takes the form of a multi-media collaboration with Berlin-based visual artist A.N.F. (Andreas Fischer). Together the pair focused on a process - a set of 'meaning-through-reduction' principles applied to both sound and video - with atmosphere, repetition and texture given priority over traditional ideas of narrative and song structure. Fisher's visuals began to take shape, depicting molten off-planet environments, strange underground realms and volcanic caves lined with arrays of fluorescent light tubes, and Psutka responded by soundtracking these new digital environments. The resulting nine tracks and their accompanying series of videos and images became "A/B til Infinity", a mesmeric environment rendered in the crystalline HD that has marked out Egyptrixx' work since his earliest productions.

Following three EPs for Musique Large and two albums for Melting Pot Music and rx:tx, Fulgeance returns to his label and home with 'Cubes', an album that is intense but also more personal, bred on funk, electronica and the combination of bass and beats that remains the Frenchman's most memorable signature.


The album follows the EP triology of Chico, Low Club and Glamoure, each of which was received with interest and positive feedback from not only the press but also the public.


Different thanks to its analogue textures, tempo changes and a real desire to surprise, 'Cubes' is, in the words of its maker, 'the coming together of a variety of influences at at time where too many things sound the same'.


The nostalgia of 'Neverending' and the back to basics of 'Stupido' open proceedings, followed by the flurry of 'He Knows' and 'Velcro' designed to take the listener into the universe of the man once nicknamed 'The Little Prince of the Beat' with broken rhythms that still manage to make bodies move. You may find your head nod on 'Sheeeeiit' and 'Down', enough to make your neck hurt even. You may find yourself excited by 'Chocolat Orange' before enjoying the lyrical volleys of 'Whisper' and the flow of DistantStarr on 'The Fan'. 'Nightwalker' will take you into a hot and smoky night before 'Comptine' brings things to an end.

Morgan Zarate's futuristic pop constructions and elegant takes on hip hop and R&B on this new EP are really something to behold. Take lead track 'Pusher Taker'. With Roses Gabor's softly sung vocal, and with the kind of melodic hooks and chords that wouldn't be out of place on a psychedelic period Prince production, the track still ends up sounding contemporary as a high contrast pop grime mutation with whipping snares. 'Kaytsu' is pretty much Hypertrap, with rolling beats, delayed chords and snares rolling across heavy bass kicks, creating a dynamic rhythmic vortex. 'Far Too Late' feat Tawiah is clap heavy R&B with energetic mid range funky worms and wooshing synths accompanying Tawiah's angry vocal. Finally, 'Tayco' explores a kind of future primitive grime, to good effect. It's a mixture of glassy industrial sounds and what sound like acoustic drums and wooden hits that give the track a really unusual feel, the rhythm track builds up and down with a real sense of urgency.

In the 1970s the American composer Henry Flynt started a series of pieces under the title - New American Ethnic Music'. In so doing he worked together native styles of music such as blues, Country or Hillbilly with electronic production methods to make something altogether new. So far in Germany it has never been attempted to rework folklore electronically for a compilation. However, this picture changes if one redefines the idea of who the population is. Incomers have brought new - national anthems' to Germany, which means: even the Portuguese Fado, the African Gnawa, the Croatian Klapa or the Vietnamese Quan ho are these days at home in Germany.
With the cultural project - Heimatlieder aus Deutschland' ('Native songs from Germany') founded by former Spex editor Mark Terkessidis and label manager Jochen Kühling all the various styles of traditional folk music now found in Germany has been collected. Thirteen of the songs recorded for the project have now been transformed by contemporary electronic producers to present a - New German Ethnic Music'. But why remixes For one thing electronic music has recently focused a lot on the past (Ghost Music, Hypnagogic Pop etc.) - electronic editing is well suited to follow the effects of the immigrant music which the - imaginary national anthems' has created. Furthermore the project's instigators were curious how - electronic musicians' would handle folk music and folk songs which is a hugely difficult task. To this end artists were sought out who could get along with the idea of each music style and who are known to already have experimented with the human voice. The results are as varied as the music styles and Djs involved. Some melodies remain completely intact while others are abstracted beyond recognition.
Margaret Dygas' associative approach ensured that she presents a polish song about a girls arranged marriage with a claustrophobic feeling. With his remix of the Marrabenta of Mozambique Mark Ernestus has continued the rhythmic experiments he is known for with Jeri Jeri. Thomas Mahmoud translated Gnawa into dub and finally Ulrich Schnauss turned the song of the Italian Chorus of - Donni So' into a hymn for the horizon-expanding power of migration.
Hopefully this compilation will also expand some horizons.

In addition to the traditional instruments such as Violoncello, Spanish and Electric Guitar and Banjo all played by Melián herself, the album also features synthesizer and even a Mellophonium played by guest instrumentalist Ching Ying Hsieh. Once again Michaela has been assisted on the production by fellow Freiwillige Selbskontrolle band member namely the drummer Carl Oesterhelt. And as with her former albums on monika, Baden-Baden and Los Angeles, Melián plays tribute to a musical hero - this time David Bowie, in the form of a cover song with her renidition of Scary Monsters. This rendition at the end of side one is the only lyrical relief on an otherwise instrumental album. Otherwise the compositions explore the realm of soundart and ambience, drifting pieces with a dark and melancholy beauty. The music is atmospheric, brooding and contemplative. New 8 track solo LP release from one half of Corporate Park

Following an incredible headline set at last weekend's Reading and Leeds Festival, Sub Focus, aka Nick Douwma, today released his video for brand new track Turn It Around - view HERE. The follow up to his recent Top Ten hit "Endorphins" - Turn It Around, features the vocal talents of Kele Okereke of Bloc Party fame and will be released on the 22nd September.

As well as the brand new single "Turn It Around", the album also features exciting collaborations with rising starlet Foxes, MNEK, Jayelldee, Culture Shock and TC to name a few. 'Torus', released on 30th September spans a plethora of electronic genres from drum&bass to dub step to house to electronica and back again, truly showcasing Sub Focus as one of the most versatile artists to be found in electronic music today.

Nick Douwma's rise through the ranks of underground drum&bass to become a major player in electronic music has been nothing short of spectacular. Initially known for dancefloor dismantling drum&bass smashes such as 'Timewarp' and the legendary 'Rock It', Sub Focus has now become synonymous with music that draws from all corners of the electronic landscape epitomising the bench mark of cutting edge talent in todays flourishing electronic music scene.

ASC, Synkro & Sam KDC team up for the second outing on Auxiliary's brand new collaborative outlet, Veil. Side one sees ASC &
Synkro pick up where Borderline / Sacred Moments left off and expand their vision further with the disjointed Machine Love and the
smoother sounding Planet X. Side two sees ASC team up with Sam KDC for two slices of future funk. 85 bpm synth power all the
way with serious bassweight thrown in for good measure. Unique music, as you'd expect from all involved.

Continuing the themes of his self titled debut last year- Mute City finds Austrian producer Clemens Bacher still pushing boundaries. Known as an acclaimed jazz drummer and multi-instrumentalist - Bacher continues a fine tradition of Viennese Jazz and maverick electronics programming- bringing a patina of otherworldy musicality to the progressive dance/hiphop niche that he works within. As well as developing his live show- the last 12 months have seen him produce for Theophilus London, Spoek Mathumbo and Mikky Ekko as well as a showstopping remix for Glaswegian band CHVRCHES that has clocked up serious airplay all across the world and been heavily featured by Zane Lowe on Radio 1.

Opener Fade oozes positivity between bitcrushed drums and distorted chords leading us to Animus:Anima a beautiful combination of soaring arpeggios and moments of sheer beauty. Title track Mute City ups the tempo and is perhaps the best example of how dancefloor friendly his music can be. Closing the EP are Red Ocean- a slower drum led slice of prog-hiphop and the overture of Extended Ranges which recalls the interludes of his previous release and serves as a dramatic closer.

Following two stunning singles, prodigiously talented producer and composer Frederic Robinson is set to drop his debut album,
'Mixed Signals', on Blu Mar Ten Music on 14th
October. The album is the culmination of over a year's work and a lifetime of musical
obsession for Robinson, comprising of a series of intricately crafted and delicately emotive tracks exploring a forward-thinking
electronic vision, which he describes as "music for the listener with a broad horizon and a short attention span'.
Over its eleven tracks, 'Mixed Signals' gives Robinson the canvas to showcase the full breadth of his talents like never before.
Amalgamating the many influences that inform his productions, from drum & bass and electronica to contemporary classical
composers, 'Mixed Signals' is a brilliantly crafted and coherent artistic statement that draws upon his talents as a classically trained
multi-instrumentalist as well as an electronic producer. Filled with light and shade, impact and intricacy, 'Mixed Signals' is much more
than a drum & bass record or a collection of club tracks; this is an album in the truest sense of the word.

Built from a collage of acoustic and electronic elements, Robinson's music is a dense patchwork of skittering rhythms, found sound
and lush instrumentation, which harnesses a compelling emotional draw as much as it does an undeniable dance floor energy. Both
immediate and nuanced, 'Mixed Signals' is a brilliant balance of contrasts.
The sweeping drama of previous single 'Theme Park' opens the album, remaining as fresh and brilliantly unique as ever, while 'Off
Topic' and 'Bloom' featuring Stray both also provide familiar touchstones, exploring esoteric manifestations of 170 bpm's outer
possibilities. Three vocal tracks are scattered throughout the tracklist, with the soft, otherworldly tones of Melanie Robinson providing
an entry point to Robinson's world of broken percussion and wandering melodies.
Elsewhere, 'Vamp Till Ready' balances rich string orchestration against a wave of skittering percussion and 'Shut' offers an expansive
beauty in its naïve, dreamlike melodies. 'Particles' showcases an innate understanding of drum & bass constructs, warping tight
breaks and deep bass against bold blasts of colour while the eponymous track explores a playfully off-kilter and delicately nuanced
downtempo vision, before the album is played out on wave of hazy melodies and light-footed rhythms with closer 'Static Float'.
'Mixed Signals' provides the broad canvas that Robinson thrives in painting with his sprawling musical influences and complex
arrangements, and the results are phenomenal. The album is a masterpiece in dance floor escapism from a talent whose career is

Tom Withers aka Klute is unlike any other drum & bass producer in the scene today. From his entry into the music business fronting
the late 80's punk band The Stupids and his early jungle releases on legendary label Certificate 18, Klute has always set himself apart

'I love music, I love to bathe in it. In fact I love to writhe about in it and rub it all over. So, in the 3 years since I last made a KLUTE LP

electro house to psychedelic jazz. The lot. I go through bouts of just listening. I call them creative vacations and when you come back

NYTA hails not from the Big Apple, but from Bristol,
UK. His real name is Mensah Anderson, who is also
the seasoned producer that you probably know
simply as Mensah. The NYTA guise focuses on
being a fresh outlet for his 120 - 130bpm 80's
Electro, House & Techno influenced tracks &
creations.
The 'New York Transit Authority' name was first
adopted for a split 12 release with Conqueror
(Redlight) on Redlight's Lobster Boy label last year.
His side was a slinky, 808 house number entitled
'Off The Traxx', which deservedly found its way into
FACT's 50 best tracks of the year & was caned by a
wide range of top DJs across the globe - including
Joe Goddard, Loefah, Redlight, Boddika,
Jackmaster, Disclosure, Pearson Sound, Benji B &
Giles Peterson to name just a few.
NYTA has already proven himself as a talent on the
decks with sets across the world & two exclusives
mixes: one for Dazed & Confused & 'the one' for
FACT mag that finished in the top 20 best FACT
mixes of the year....

OL aka Oleg Buyanov is well known in his native Russia already. He has a background extending from releases on Faces Records and scuzzy lo-fi hip hop beats on labels like Error Broadcast, Idle and Fine Grains dating back to 2007. More recently though he has been increasingly turned on by dance floor focussed sounds and as such, here come two missives on Russia's Capital Bass (which also hosts a popular bass and garage night in Moscow and has done since 2006).

'Get Depressed' is a nicely frayed brew of dusty hi hats, well treated vocal snippets and unpredictable key stabs. The analogue sounding bottom end is all taught rubbery kick drums and there is a nice freeform, natural vibe to the way the tune unfolds. Think of the roughness but loveliness of Gerry Read and you'll be in the right area.

'Make Things' is another non-standard house tune with blobs of synth and whirring machine noises kicking things off. A diced & sliced Detroit Electro-style vocal snippet then judders into the mix, as do grubby bass tones, classic cowbell pings and dramatic splashes of cymbals. It's a large and all consuming track that places you right at the centre of the drama as it unfolds all around. It's a teaser that never fully drops, and it will surely drive dancefloors as wild as it was expertly designed to do.

Next up on Critical Music's Modulations imprint comes a showcase from one of the most talked about names in UK hybrid bass
music right now. Heavily supported by the likes of Kasra, Shy FX, dBridge, Mark Pritchard, Rockwell, DJ Die and many more, Sam
Binga talks us through this dance floor fire release in his own words...
"I guess the main idea behind 'AYO!' was to make something crunchy and lo-fi, but still heavy enough for the floor. I think I was
listening to a lot of Timbaland beats around the time I built this one - I've always loved the massive kicks and weird squashy snares
he uses, so I wanted to try something along those lines at DnB speed. The rest seemed to flow quite organically and Redders brought
his usual charisma and animation to the vocal. Like the man says, everyone knows he mashes up the show...
'Freezy' is a bit more straightforward - something like a tribute to classic bouncing-subs jungle, but with added southern crunk vibes
and a chunky halfstep beat. If I remember rightly, there's a gun being cocked over each snare, and I brought the hardware sampler
out to get the pads and synths sounding suitably 1995."

Westov Temple is the creative endeavor of Great Circles label founder Justin Gibbon, who last appeared in 2012 on a Digitalis Limited cassette release (with RJ Valeo). Messiah Drugs is his debut release under the Westov Temple moniker and follows the Great Circles continuum of scuffed and shifty Techno, Electro and House.

Metasplice's recent emergence cast light onto Philadelphia's electronic underground, whose forays into Techno, Noise and improvisation glitter dark and hard, like seams of unrefined ore. Great Circles has released music by Metasplice side project _moonraker, and Westov Temple is label boss Justin Gibbon's project. Its foue traks are texturally akin to his labelmates, hinting at channels of creative feedback between Gibbon and his fellow city dwellers (either that or, as Metasplice's V Hold joked in an interview with The Wire, Philadelphia's harsh nature instilling a shared taste for fibrous electronic noise).

"Messiah Drums" teems with treacherously sharp edges, like tiptoeing through a grotto of razor-sharp stalagmites, while "Messiah Drugs" is spiny, springloaded electo. The surface of Geiger Memorial is etched with acidic fizz, so its core pulse registers as rhythmic pressure from the deep beneath. They're extraordinarily vibrant, evidence that club music's interface with the Noise world remains loaded with potential.

We kick off in fine style with the first official full length album from Vatican Shadow (aka Dominick Fernow from Prurient/Cold Cave) after over a dozen cassette and vinyl only releases and reissues, and the first to be released on 12" format.

None of the 8 tracks included have been released before on any other format.
*At a time when the scene is saturated with 'Noise Techno' the album is almost celebratory by contrast, balancing caustic licks of distortion and oppressive bass with cleanly mixed synth tones and ricocheting claps in a shell-shocked, surreal soundsphere.*WIth production assistance from Juan Mendez (Silent Servant), the album includes the most direct and propulsive Vatican Shadow material yet, continuing an evolutionary shift awayfrom the complex, collage-based narrative of those cassette releases into more visibly direct contact with the listener. There is a functional connection to dance music here, honing in on the human element embedded within a subject matter so fraught with inhumanity.

Fre4knc steps back into Dust Audio Vinyl Territory with the fierce stepper, Beastbox.
Collaborating with the Netherlands number One beatboxer , Maask.
Opening up with an intricate drum pattern from the Human Voice Chameleon that is Maask,
Fre4knc transforms this into drum & bass form with ease.

Once the bass announces itself with gargantuan proportions, keeping your body still is not an option. Again the vocal chords of Maask are demonstrated on the low frequency of the sub!

Fre4knc adds his own trademark shuffles and percussion which are the catalyst for the
roller-coaster ride that Beastbox becomes!

Overall this is a very original concept that sits warmly in the 170 bracket. Its been quite an 18 months for the Dutch man, with his first vinyl outing on Dust Audio 001 alongside Mindmapper progressing into releases on Samurai and the much anticipated Long Player, Transit 2 on Dispatch coming soon.

Minor Rain also returns to Dust Audio Vinyl for the second time after dropping Heckler on
our 002 release. This time around he presents the jazz infused tech roll out known as 'Jazz Pants'.

A wicked sleazed out intro with live percussion recorded by the multi-talented man himself.
Horns bring in the double bass which builds then rolls into some pure tech funk whilst
retaining all that jazz.

Imagine Miles Davis sat in front of a sequencer in the 21st some idea what this tune is all about. Minor Rain still manages to give it his own trademark with ultra tight percussion, lovely switch ups, rolling hats which still retaining the original analogue concept. Late night smoke filled freeform jazz clubs at 174 mph!

It's been quite a year for Minor Rain, the Slovakian has become a rising star in drum n bass with releases on Med School, Samurai and also winning the Dispatch Remix competition. With lots more in store for us at Dust Audio we always get a thrill from his music and never more so than when we first heard Jazz Pants.

Noisia & Foreign Beggars are extremely proud to present I Am Legion's much anticipated self-titled, 16 track, debut album.
"The album was made during countless sessions (no more than 40 full studio days max) over the last five years. With fans like Amon Tobin, Skrillex and Noisia (who've signed them to their Division Recordings label), you'd expect Neosignal to offer something different - and the German duo (aka drum & bass heroes Phace & Misanthrop) certainly don't disappoint. Their debut album 'Raum und Zeit' including the single 'Planet Online' is out now! Their influences range from Can to Kraftwerk and Joy Division to Led Zeppelin, and, while their music has elements of early Krautrock, industrial and 80's EBM (electronic body music), its powered by 21st century, bass-driven production.
