Vladivostok lad Eastcolors is probably most well-known within the DnB community for his mixes and for his collaborations with Enei and Nuage. As far as modern drum and bass is concerned Eastcolors is at the forefront of that techy, fresh sound emanating from Eastern Europe and Russia. With this in mind then, it's clear that while his tunes fuse well with his fellow Russian drum and bass cohorts, Eastcolors is making a departure from collabs.
What better way to celebrate Demand's tenth release then, with Eastcolors settings about placing his name upfront and alone with his first ever solo 12'.
Bursting into techy synths right from the off, 'Things Inside' is one of those rare steppers that's just as effective on headphones as it is through a proper system in the early hours of a Sunday morning. Already a dancefloor staple and a favourite with the likes of Friction, Ant-TC1, Chris SU, Mutated Forms, Villem and Foreign Concept (to name but a few), you really should to grab this while it's hot.
On the flip 'Heavy Tone' rumbles forth with a typically Eastcolors take on what a roller should be. Lenzman-esque synths and strange, celestial vocals are quickly worked over by an electrical storm of droning bass and pads. As the synths return to break up the clouds here and there, 'Heavy Tone' loses the idea of becoming another lost bass-heavy roller and settles into being a multi-layered piece of quality drum and bass.

Texas based imprint Warm Communications latest cut is a double header from London based Fracture. Label boss Heath is keen to keep the label diverse whilst pushing some of the finest producers around in Seba, Equinox and Resound to name a few and the new release from Fracture sits perfectly in their catalogue. Up first its a sweet remix of Ella Jones' 'Lately' which builds with nice vibes and a track here just in time for the summer. On the flip the mood is darker with 'Tunnel Track' and it's refreshing to hear D&B sounding this good again. Haunting pads with solid beats gets the head nodding and the feet moving.

Ltd Edition 300 copy 10' press with illustrated collectable comic strip series 'The Phantoms inside me are beginning to win...' And so, 7 years after it's original release Equinox's legendary darkside classic 'The Phantoms' resurfaces, this time with a distinctly more oldskool feel after some studio treatment from fellow breakbeat protagonist Nebula. Opening with some stark atmospherics and a subdued voice telling of a dreamed communication, a bubbling bass builds the tension thicker still before it's suddenly released by a metallic break that will be familiar to fans of the original tune. This is Jungle, 2012 style! On the flip side, crystalline pad sweeps and a rolling drumline make for a calm prelude to the barrage of chopped beats and the urgent bassline that follows. Different breaks and percussives drop in and out, sometimes tangling to create intense whirlwinds of rhythm. The track changes direction with the introduction of a searching synth combined with some drifting atmospherics which make this another trip for the imagination.

You know the drill with the Jungle Cakes releases, it's all about good fun, rolling breakbeats and a classic early-'90s vibe. 'Entertainer' takes a classic vocal and works in chunky breaks and enough bass to make the floor quake. Big tings indeed!Leaders of the new school jungle sound, Serial Killaz, step up on the flip with a rolling, rinsing, clattering remix that's packed full of their trademark energy. Gerwin & Nuage return to the Fokuz imprint once again. On the A side we have a colab between the two who again prove to be incredible talents. 'Hidden Dreams' uses a beautifull soundscape/atmosphere on top of a stripped back drum line and a deep bass. The vocal gives just that bit of soul while still maintaining the depth. On the flip we have 'Here To Stay' by Gerwin. Again some deep vibes, except this one is a slightly more dancefloor orientated track with bouncey drums, a superb bassline and heavy delayed vocals.

Freedom' is a Goldie record. For some that's all that needs to be said about Metalheadz' 100th single release, a short statement that embodies a deluge of associations.

RRT020 is the 12" vinyl release of Heavy1's highly anticipated "Minimalized" Album. This is the first album on Rubik Records since Kubiks' "Blurred Vision" and it's clear to see how the sound of electronic music has evolved in recent years. The A side Ongaku is a bass heavy monster that has been doing damage across dancefloors worldwide, and the moment you hear the drop you will see why. The AA side Fear the Sattelite is a choice example of Heavy1's unique style. Punishing beats contrasted with intruiging synths make this a strong yet well balanced tune. DJ support includes Loxy, DJ Marky, Makoto, Zero T, DJ Flight, and Icicle.

Here we present a preview of the A side 'Crumbled' which presents Hybris in clear full on dance floor destruction mode. The AA side 'Ender' is a much deeper offering and something we dare say very reminiscent of LFO's classic early rave/ acid house material on Warp Records, either way Hybris does the sound justice as you'd expect!Support from the likes of: Alex Perez, Goldie, Marky, Octane & DLR, Skeptical, Lenzman, Calyx, Teebee, Survival, Ant TC1, Data, FD, Ulterior Motive, EBK & Xtrah

This is the debut vinyl release from up & coming producer Jim Morton. The 12' presents two different flavours of the Jungle sound. The A side is 'NYC-DUB', a heavy duty track with plenty of pace and energy. An atmospheric vibe is present but the production still carries enough weight with the beats and sub to work the dance floor. Think Ray Keith meets Breakage! On side B, 'Underwater Chord' is again a Jungle Bass tune but on a different vibe. It's a brighter sounding track, due to the chords and sounds used, which wouldn't be out of place in a Liquid style production. With both tracks there is a 'tip of the cap' towards the old skool sound.

Having signed exclusively to Med School last year, 21-year old Lung brings us his debut solo release on the label. The versatile Cardiff based producer has been making waves in both the D+B and dubstep scenes, releasing on Med School's 'New Blood 011' and 'Blood Pressure' compilations, appearing on BBC Radio 1 Introducing last year and collaborating with High Contrast on his recent album 'The Agony and the Ecstasy'. *With recognition from underground tastemakers such as Mary Anne Hobbs and 1Xtra's Crissy Criss right through to Radio 1's Annie Mac as well as a host of cross-genre DJ support, Lung has built a reputation as one of the most promising new talents on the Med School roster.*'Why Does Anyone Ever Do Anything' is a brooding, contemplative piece, with string-sections soaring over a deep reverberating bassline and gorgeous, emotive lyrics. The track features Welsh vocalist Rachel K Collier, who has worked with legendary garage producer Wookie on his comeback single, as well as Anjuna Beats' latest signing Mat Zo. *After this enticing entrée, Lung effortlessly switches down to 140bpm for accompanying venture 'Sky People', a dubstep exploration with wide-open sounds, where booming, bouncy bass plays with sparkling hi-hats and a top layer of melodic bleeps plus breezy snatches of vocal samples.

I Know U' combines tribal rhythms, pounding bass, insistent synth stabs, some distressed dialogue and a insanely large crash in the most maniacal way imaginable for what has to be one of the most devastating and original tunes for a very long time. Sparse and spacious but yet rhythmical and energetic, LXC manages the ultimate arrangement balancing act here. The intensity increases gradually as the track progresses, culminating in an all-out tribal war ! A modern day Jungle masterpiece from one of the most under-estimated producers around. On the flip, Senses finally unleashes a track that decimated the very first Technicality all-nighter back in 2004. 8 years later and that power is still very much in evidence! 'Everybody want go heaven. Nobody want dead' - taking influence from the 1990 film 'Marked For Death', Senses builds a dense vibe here, thick with imminent danger.Rolling drums soon give way to a energetic ride-heavy break and pounding sub-bass hits. Drum rolls drop and mentasms screech before the storm begins to subside half way through. The respite is brief however and after a complete silence the track reassembles, beginning with some insane slow to fast mentasm pitching which continues as a dark, slick reece begins to build with mysterious atmospherics. The tension is cut by the return of the drums - rolling along at first, before the mentasms and subs hit hard again, signaling a percussive onslaught! Jungle just got catapulted into 2012.

To complete the current run of Samurai releases we present a 12 from Lynx (Detail Recordings / Soul:r), an artist we have always admired. Lynx is a true individual who's style can never be compared to anyone else, the kind of producer we like to work with. After hearing our first release on Samurai Horo, he approached us with these 2 tunes and we instantly knew he shared our vision. Both sides are unique and stylistically adventurous like few others in the 170 BPM construction business. DJ support from DJ Hype, Laurent Garnier, Jubei, Loxy, Spectrasoul, John B and more

Headbanger and The Chant come out on vinyl on the 7th May and have already seen support from none other than Rob da Bank, Kasra, Ant TC1 and many more. The release in the words of label boss Mako ... 'The Chant' Bass, hyper-snappy drums and a tight, energetic groove. Badass. 'Headbanger' Stomped-out beast. One for the 97 tech step headz.

Here we have the sampler from the long awaited 'Equinox EP' which is the perfect follow from their first release on D Style back in 2011. Both the A and B side seamlessly shred the boundaries of tempo, genre and perfectly executes a no holds barred exploration of how to destroy dance floors on a global scale.
