AB SYNDROM, the Berlin Duo, is coming with their third album. PLASTIK is a bit like the coming of age album of the band. It tells stories of growing up emotionally and being played into a hard and post capitalistic environment. Nevertheless you will find some quite romantic lyrics and songs between lyrical metaphors and a rough and urban reality in Berlin Neukölln, their neighborhood. The music on PLASTIK is mainly a percussion driven and electronic laden journey. Not your average pop arrangements but subtle compositions and laid back vocals with a certain chopped and screw twist. The bands musical projection is a most consequent advancement of their three albums and their body of work so far. Bennet Seuss, singer and composer is defining his own style in writing autobiographic lyrics with a certain twist to the obscure and umtransparent. A great album for sure. Nigeria's "First Lady of Song" , Christiana Uduak Essien-Igbokwe was born in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria in 1960. Tragically she lost her mother early at the age of 12. In the mid-70s she started singing professionally at a relatively early age in the music clubs of Aba. Extensive TV work soon followed and in 1977 she launched her professional music career with the album "Freedom". Her fourth album "One Understanding" was signed by Afrodisia and released in 1979.

"One Understanding" was produced by Pal Akalonu. It is an infectious mix of Afroboogie ("What Love Is About", "Mind Your Biz"), Swinging afro groove ("You Can't Change A Man") Smooth Afro Soul ("Take Life Easy"), Reggae tinged grooves ("I'll Be Your Man", "Respect Your Man") and -of course- one smooth ballad, "Understanding". Christy's lyrics show a depth of understanding and wisdom way beyond her 19 years (at the time).

Having conquered the music and TV worlds Christy moved on to feature in some of the early Hollywood films such as "Flesh and Blood" and "Scars of Womanhood", both of which addressed issues of child abuse and female circumcision. With a desire to make life better for Nigerian artists. She is also credited as having initiated the first meeting that brought about the formation of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria in 1981.

Christy died after a brief illness in 2011. Close to the time of her death, she was involved in numerous successful businesses, organization and running the non-governmental organisation Essential Child Care Foundation involved in child welfare. Christy's achievements and awards are numerous. Too numerous to mention. Perhaps her greatest achievement however is her contribution to building a peaceful and tolerant Nigeria - which, alongside moral uprightness, remain constant themes of her songs.

Jimi Tenor's mind will travel where his body can't go. Living in isolation in east-Helsinki suburb he picks mushrooms and has exotic musical fantasiesin the calmness of the endless. He has made a quantum connection in Berlin with rhythm geniouses Ekow Alabi Savage and Max Weissenfeldt to create his latest tour de force "Order of Nothingness".

Mind travel is easy and music is a perfect way to illustate the possibilities. Using historical failed experimental keyboard Extravoice from Hammond organ company has opened the floodgates of Jimi's creative passages. Philophon studios in Berlin has a plethora of exotic instruments and they have been extensively used in making this album. JIMI likes to switch between wind instruments and keyboards to get a creative edge.

Is there any meaning in Mysteria Did Salvador Dali design the Chupa Chups logo Was Finland part of the Soviet Union Order of Nothingness might not aswer these question, but instead will confuse you a little bit more.

For the second release, we bring you obscure 1985 North Carolina boogie/gospel/electro banger filled with crazy bass synths, piano chords and rhythm machines. Very proud we managed to put out this unique record.

Also supported and played by Peanut Butter Wolf from Stones Throw!

Few words from the man himself:

"I was 32 years old when I did "Come Together", I recorded it in the studio in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. It was my first studio project. I wrote it to reflect on how we all are God's creation and we all need each other no matter our skin color or background, we should love each other as God tells us to. I always wanted my music to go mainstream and worldwide to reach everyone. Shurfine gospel record company picked up my record and the rest is history..."

Dubwise and direct but laced with strange details that light up on repeated listens, the plate turns up some massive highlights with the loping Linn drum cracks and digickal synth torque of Partei and the rogue bogle of Brass up top, then with some killer sino-flavour on the rugged '90s rub 'n tug of Raid Leader and the Flex Dance Music-compatible knocks and horns of Light, but you can take it on trust: this one is properly top-loaded with heavy gear.

Charles Watson - the London based songwriter/producer and member of indie duo Slow Club and garage-rock super group The Surfing Magazines - announces the release of his debut solo record.

To mark the announcement, Watson is streaming 'Abandoned Buick', the second track to be taken from the album following the release of the BBC 6 Music playlisted 'No Fanfare'. 'Abandoned Buick' came about through a chance introduction to a Yamaha YC30. The band Mates of State left a Yamaha YC30 at the Moshi Moshi Records HQ a few years ago and somehow I've ended up babysitting the thing,' explains Watson on the making of the track. I love this thing so much. The fuzz setting through a Fender amp is basically the most pleasing sounding thing I've ever heard. That's what does the riff on 'Abandoned Buick'. Thanks Mates of State, please don't come back for it.'

Not only is this Watson's solo debut but it also marks his first foray into production. Exploring his relationship with traditional harmony singing, Watson worked with sampled versions of his own voice to create unusual vocal textures.

A former writing student of Central St Martins and The Faber Academy, Watson uses his own fiction writing as a spring board for his lyrics, a method he has also used for his previous records. The new album takes inspiration from the reoccurring themes and language of the JG Ballard novel 'Hello America'. Now That I'm A River was co-produced by Watson with longtime collaborator David Glover at Tesla Studios in Sheffield and features a hand-picked band, including Guillemot's Fyfe Dangerfield and Hot Club De Paris' Paul Rafferty. Rozi Plain and members of The Deep Throat Choir and Trashkit also make an appearance on the album title track 'Now That I'm A River'.
