After a two-year hiatus Georg (co-founder of Light of Other Days) is back with a new EP and a new moniker. As usual the five tracks on the EP «A Million Pieces» are hard to pinpoint and are highly personal pieces of work. On «A Million Pieces» Slow Glass takes us on a journey from dark ambient spaces to carefree dancefloors. «A Million Pieces» starts out in a state of tension but over the course of the EP, Slow Glass takes the listener to a place of relief. The productions are mainly based on heavily manipulated fieldrecordings and everyday sounds. Slow Glass creates dense soundscapes which build the frame for light-hearted harmonies as well as playful percussion and gloomy synth lines. The EP closes out with «Relieved», a rhythmic dance track with hopping synths and airy guitar that could almost make for a summer song. «A Million Pieces» is an adventurous EP for curious listeners. It is loaded with quirky sounds, rhythmic arpeggios, and impulsive percussions. The digital package comes with three remixes by the likes of Thunder Tillman, Belia Winnewisser and Gee Dee. The cosmic travellers from Thunder Tillman turn «Release» into a psyched-out journey into space and time. Belia Winnewisser delivers a powerful, club-ready version of «Strained» adding her trademark drum-sounds and label-mate Gee Dee gifts «Release» with a treatment of analog warmth.

Following on from The Local Beatnik’s standout release, Beyond Paradise enlist the expertise of one of Croatia’s finest Ilija Rudman to let loose ‘Sparks’, complete with remixes from Dennis Kane and Project Paradise.

Deep, brooding and powerful, Ilija channels that pent up dancefloor energy into the core of ‘Sparks’, with thumping bass synths and emotive pianos providing the basis of a 4x4 cut that works just as well a journey through your mind, as it will when those hallowed club doors open once again.

First up on remix duties, Dennis Kane gives a techier touch to proceedings with pulsing tones, snare rolls and space echo sweeps adding another dimension to the track before a subtle acid line reels you in even deeper.

Closing out the release, Project Paradise brings the vocal prowess of Terri Shaltiel to this Italo tinged, acid-laden remix.

Following up on the 2017 debut EP 'Don't Get Me Wrong’, Dazion returns with his second release on Second Circle.

On his latest EP; 'A Bridge Between Lovers’, we hear the Dutch multi -instrumentalist take even more unexpected swerves and turns in the form of fi ve new tracks recorded in his home studio in Den Haag. Setting himself loose from any musical confines, his process develops spontaneously; a Spanish guitar connects with an Indonesian wind instrument, wood sticks are channelled through a gritty sampler, while weird drum pattErns make their way out of Alesis HR 16-B and Yamaha computers. The results of these recordings are a fluid yet familiar Dazion sound; typically utilising electronic and organic sounds in his own distinctIve way. As with its predecessor, the tracks on ‘A Bridge Between Lovers’ are heavily rhythmically fuelled as well as rich in melody. Not least during another collaborati on with the Portugese vocalist Paulo on the alluring opening track ‘Eu Ñ ao Sei’, where Dazion again radiates what he himself calls, his "musical message of love to everyone".

The fourth release on the ever exciting Flat White Records is a four track slice that explores a deeper sound in comparison to the previous release.

Australia based Canadian, A Most Wanted Man provides the goods this time around, and with him having only one vinyl release to his name already, it’s refreshing to see FWR sticking to their mould of supporting lesser known/upcoming artists. Producing the dance floor ready remixes are legend of the game, Jacques Renault and label boss Flat White Chris.

The title track launches into a mixture of deep chords and shattering claps, all before vocal stabs, synth solos and a chugging bassline are added to create a real deep house gem. The trippy breakdown is perfect to confuse a dance floor, before exploding back into the track.

A2. Johnny Bassline
Another deep groover here, but this time with more percussive ingredients to get any toe tapping. Don’t be fooled by the dreamy segments of this track, because it won’t be long before you get hit with the funky bassline that really takes you on a ride for the duration.

B1. Meander On Carlisle (Jacques Renault Remix)
With an extensive list of credentials to his name, it was never in doubt that Jacques Renault would add a touch of class to this release with his hard hitting version of the EP’s title track. Having this on the B Side really opens up the options for any DJ, as this “in your face” remix is a sure DF destroyer.

B2. Johnny Bassline (Flat White Chris Remix)
The head honcho of FWR has squeezed himself onto this release with a tasteful remix of Johnny Bassline. Comparable to the “bumpedy bump funk” sound of the 2000’s, this housey remix uses elements from the original, as well as additional instruments to create a track with a completely different dynamic for the EP.

Back Down On My Knees' is a raw house cut combining a pounding bass drum and clever percussion reminiscent of a late 00's New York sound with washed synths. I'm Amazed offers an ambient track lead by a simple piano interlaced with a field recording taken on a subway platform in New York.

On the other side Rubber Jam is a tough hardware jam with a floaty arpeggiated synth line. "here Will Be Blood rounds the EP out relying on percussion to drive the track with breakbeat and a heavy bassline.

Avotre welcome the mighty Rich NXT to release his first full EP on the label. As one of the original FUSE residents, Rich played a pivotal role in building the FUSE name to it's world reaching heights, so he knows a thing or two about what gets a dancefloor going.

This five track powerhouse sees Rich serve up two peaktime rollers, crafted expertly with those naughty subby basslines and sizzling percussion he's become known for, alongside three killer remixes from Santé, James Dexter and Kareem Cali & Larosa, each adding their flavour to the mix.

Ahead of his second artist album on his own Millionhands label in July, Tee Mango teases with a fantastic first EP taken from it. The album finds the UK artist stretch himself with a dazzling array of soul drenched, fully fledged songs featuring his own singing and that of Detroit legend (and Moodymann collaborator) Amp Fiddler.

The sound, very much influenced by early Prince and even a little Bon Iver, combines effortlessly with that loose sampled MPC-house feel that you would associate with a Tee Mango production. It also comes with a seal of approval from Radio 6 Music legend Gilles Peterson and after EPs on the likes of Aus, Clone and Local Talk in recent years.

Opening up the EP, Amp Fiddler features on ‘Feels Like Whatever’. Dancing Rhodes keys, ooze jazz charm and float atop a simple house beat, while the Detroit legend’s emotive raw soulful vocal directs proceedings.
The heart breaking ‘No More Tears’ is an introspective sad soul song that shows another side to Mango’s skills. Tender chords, downbeat drums and vocal hums and coos all melt your very being. Last of all comes the dazzling ‘Lay Down (Disco Mix)’ with its slapped funk bassline, finger clicks and squelch synth work all topped off by an effortless
falsetto. This is a fantastic introduction to the full length to come.

Djebali and Jorge Savoretti combine to deliver their ‘Fraires’ EP on Infuse, accompanied by a remix from Stephan Bazbaz.

Two producers at the heart of today’s modern house and minimal scenes, Paris favourite Djebali and Argentinian DJ and producer Jorge Savoretti have grown to become two of the most consistent and impressive talents active within the scene today. With over thirty years of experience between them, releasing material via the likes of Freak’n’Chic, Raum…musik and Cadenza plus Djebali’s own self-titled imprint, the pairing now turn their attention to new ground as they make their collaborative debut on FUSE sister imprint Infuse this summer, offering up three fresh productions via their ‘Fraires’ EP alongside a remix from Tel Aviv’s Stephan Bazbaz.

The slow-blooming and hypnotic sonics of ‘101’ open the EP in style as the two talents merge sweeping synth lines atop of warped electronics and slick percussion shots, whilst Stephan Bazbaz’s remix ups the tempo and builds on the original with a combination of energetic builds and icy hats. On the flip, ‘Pigalle’ delves into a deep journey guided by a resonant lead line and hazy background murmurs, before closing with the classy ‘Devote Ville’ – a smooth and well measured production which oozes sophistication and quality from the opening minute.

1-800 Girls returns to Lost Palms with the luscious ‘Slipping’ EP.

Chris Stussy broke through in double quick time with some head turning house tracks. But what is important is that he has continued to back up that early promise years later with this EP on Moscow. He is now very much a key part of the underground with a sound that is all his own and has taken him to essential labels like Djebali, Rutilance, Eastenderz, Meta and, of course, PIV.

Yore returns with yet another Deep Master Piece. Javier Alvarez, a Madrid-based producer and proprietor (along with his younger brother Dubbyman) of the underground label Deep Explorer Music, brings his relaxed Above Smoke sound to the Yore imprint.

After years as a vocalist and keyboarder in James Murphy's superband LCD Soundsystem, finally Nancy Whang steps out with her own solo project: 4 cover versions of big songs from the 70ies, each of which is to be produced by a big name of today's electronic scene.

The first single is a rework of Dennis Parker's 'Like An Eagle' which gets produced by AudioJack. Ibiza based, Leeds pair AudioJack have released on labels like 2020 Vision, Diynamic, Get Physical and countless other imprints. The basis for the track are spritely house drums run through with warbling, disco-fried synths that shine and glow gloriously. This is a fantastically floating single that will sweep dancefloors up and shoot them thorugh space all spring long. Toy Tonics acts Black Loops and Malik Yells also turn out a bomb remix.

The second track collected on the 12' sees Nancy team up with UK disco don Bonar Bradberry (one half of PBR Streetgang) , no stranger to success thanks to releasing on labels like Futureboogie, Needwant and 2020 Vision. The single 'Working The Midnight Shift' - originally by Donna Summer - gets a futuristic re-versioning that marries classic 80's boogie to fresh modern sounds. The extended version found on the vinyl is quite the trip, elongating the groove and the disco flourishes into something really quite epic. Once again Gomma have come up with a disco bomb that nods to the past at the same time as charging headlong into the future.

Yore returns with the 3rd release on the Yore Limited series. 300 limited copies in green transparent vinyl. A beauty musically and for the eye.

The Strictly Rhythm imprint is legendary and is instantly recognisable by connoisseurs worldwide. That's right, the 'proper' mixes, reissued from source and remastered to the highest spec, each track spread across one side of a 12" for optimal sonic playback.

Number 3 in the series kicks off on a proper old-school tip with CLS' mammoth 'Can You Feel It' from 1991, a collaboration between Todd Terry and Benji Candelerio CLS made a huge and lasting impression with this euphoric and anthemic slab of dancefloor madness. Instantly recognisable from it's ravey riff and funky drum programming, file this one under 'rave classic'! Over on the flip side we have South Street Player's smoothed out '(Who) Keeps Changing Your Mind', a rolling and deep jam from Roland Clark and George Morel that came out in 1993. This one's some lights down, honest to god soulful house music, skipping garage drums and that organ driven groove offer the perfect vehicle for Clark's gorgeous vox to soar over. Yet another set of absolutely essential SR cuts from the archive!

Enzo Siragusa releases four alternative cuts from his Decade of Rave double album project, entitled The Lost Dubs. All lean towards the FUSE label head’s darker taste, and darker side of production.

It’s no secret that Enzo takes a significant amount of inspiration from his formative years immersed in London’s invigorating Jungle, Drum n Bass, and Hardcore scene of the early 90's. A dance floor you’d not only find yourself encased in music on but feel it from your core.

When in the studio, Enzo strives to emulate that feeling which you’ll heavily hear through the 'FUSE' back catalogue, and when on the dance floor during his sets.

Five years after his critically acclaimed debut album Throwback, Glenn Astro returns with his deeply personal album Homespun.

Marking a change in course from his first release on Tartelet Records, Glenn Astro is set to showcase his sophomore album Homespun, a testament to a visionary artist who has come into his own. Made up of ten tracks spanning 45 minutes, the record twists and turns between electronic meditations, soulful vocals by Ajnascnet, and futuristic electro, carving out a world of spacey eclecticism that is as nostalgic as it is experimental.

“This album is in all facets different from the first one, which was a deliberate decision. No vintage sounds and references, no sampling, combined with futuristic sound design and song structures.I tried to keep it as current and intuitive as possible,” he says.

Known for his chunky beats and fuzzy textures, Glenn Astro has released on labels such as Ninja Tune and Apollo, leaving a distinctive signature on everything he touches.

But Glenn Astro has quietly been crafting a new sound for himself. Sometimes taking detours – morphing into his dark alter ego and experimenting with artist collaborations.

The sound of Homespun is a culmination of several years of reflection and artistic development – however, the album itself was produced in less than three months. “I set myself an ultimatum to finish the album within three months. If I didn’t make it, I’d
have to rethink my career path and keep music as a hobby, he says.

On the introspective first single and album title track “Homespun,” Ajnascent’s vocals lend a sincerity to the melancholic production. “It’s about the regret of not taking chances and giving in too much, but also about taking responsibility and being honest with yourself. Homespun is a nod to nostalgia and a desire for simplicity and prudence, being equally the culprit and the cure,” elaborates Ajnascent.

On “The Yancey,” an homage to J Dilla, Glenn Astro paints his vision of contemporary dance music with shimmering melodies, deep ambient soundscapes, and advanced drum programming. “Moreira” and “Look at You” feel like spaced-out electronic funk hybrids, while “Taking Care of Business” goes back to the future with Glenn Astro’s take on jungle. Other tracks such as “Mezzanine,” “Slow Poke Flange,” and “Viktor’s Meditation” provide the finest dubby electronics.

When Simon Dunmore heard Horse Meat Disco drop 'The Spirit' at Glitterbox in Ibiza last summer he immediately needed to know where and who the track came from. It's no surprise that Mighty Mouse's style of production was a good match for Glitterbox, with his reputation of delivering high energy, eclectic, disco infused sets. The track went on to become Annie Mac's Hottest Record and has been on heavy rotation among all discerning disco DJs. Now this rugged party starter has its long-awaited vinyl release, with an exclusive remix from Partyfine boss and French maestro Yuksek keeping it company on the A-side. On the B-side are two huge remixes from UK techno titan Mark Broom, bringing new depth to the disco original.

microcastle begins 2020 by welcoming Cornucopia back to the label for a new EP. The mysterious artist makes a much-anticipated follow-up to the July 2018 release ‘Forever Gone’. The three-track offering saw a wide spectrum of play and support from some of the underground’s top tastemakers in Adam Port, Ame, Baikal, Dixon, Frankey & Sandrino, Guy J, Jimi Jools, Laurent Garnier, Luca Bacchetti, Patrice Baumel and Solomun. With a release on Multinotes to highlight 2019, Cornucopia now lands back on microcastle with ‘River of Memories’ to begin the new year.

Elusive and organic in equal measure, the transcendent nature of Cornucopia has the rare ability to unite a cross section of music lovers. The romantic sounds of ‘River of Memories’ sits as perhaps the most apt illustration, invoking a rare combination of hope, heartache, reflection and meditation across it’s eleven-minute storyboard. The second outcome on Retrograde signifies the first release of head-honcho Marlon Hoffstadt on his and Natureboy Gold's new imprint. After a short timeout the young Berlin producer presents his new work on this four-tracker in collaboration with Chicago House Music icon and pioneer Paris Brightledge, accountably for releases since 1987 on substantial labels such as DJ International Records. He recently delivered the vocals on Paranoid London's killers 'Paris Dub 1 & 2'. 'Smile' the title track of the EP, highlights Paris' ability to hypnotize the dance floor with his unique voice combined with Marlon's production smoothness. With 'Smile' Paris displays: 'torn from the angst of my soul concerning the tragedy of love and life lost'. 'Smile' got a special treatment by Detroit's very own Kris Wadsworth. His Venus Rx Remix lived up to its name and has some 'pretty nasty analog stuff going on' to catapult yourself right into the atmosphere. The B-side 'Lies' discusses how coming from the streets doesn't always allow feelings to be displayed in life or in love. It's a percussion driven, 303 based club workout. No rest for dancers on this one. Remix comes from label artist Matteo Luis, providing a more synth accented version, introducing an engrossing sound that will be continued on his upcoming RTGD 003. The EP is Paris' and Marlon's first collaboration and we can already promise it won't be the last one on Retrograde. Every copy comes with a full cover artwork by Hermann Reimer.
