House Vinyl New Releases - News

« Solids » stands as the second major release by De Le Groove. In the wake of Crossovers & Alley Oops, De La Groove gathers here a handful of amazing house producers - that were all welcomed in Paris - onto this 6 tracks vinyl. This release stands as a totem to the label and its very purpose, now let’s introduce our major six here : Art Of Tones, Cody Currie (and Joel Holmes), Goddard, Grant Nelson, Pontchartrain and Scott Diaz.

The vinyl opens on A1 - Art Of Tones – So Sweet, a nice and bouncing club groover where rhodes and bass melt together over a strong vocal presence; creating a global fresh feeling. This feeling keeps hold on us with A2 – Scott Diaz – A Quiet Love, a refreshing garage beat thriving over a smooth bassline coated in slick vocals, rhodes chords and a heady gimmick. A-face close on A3 – Cody Currie ft Joel Holmes - As Of Yet. If the freshness is maintained, jazzy parts and complex harmonies clearly takes over this track for a nice journey out on a lounging vibe.

B1 – Grant Nelson – In The Dark goes straight into club’s heart with a loud and heavy garage vibe. This one track will be limited to the vinyl edition, and might well smash a few dancefloors at night. B2 – Pontchartrain – Don’t Change It Up comes as a vastly sampled track that keeps a high tension with his loads of strings presence, purveying a nice and vast bridge made up by organ patterns. The vinyl closes on B3 – Goddard – Almasti which clearly soften the release with a dreamy track of strong composition, perfectly tailored to enjoy a soft moment out on a sunny afternoon.

Tom Demac is no stranger to us, with well-played releases on Hypercolour, Electronique Audio and Glasstable, we were happy to offer him a home with Kompakt in 2018 thanks to a collaboration with Real Lies titled 'White Flowers'. Tom returns to Kompakt, this time solo with the 3 tracker 'Serenade' .

The title track is delicately brought together by a fragile piano rhythm and poetic wisdom over the might of the kick drum. Tom says its best that 'Despite it being a little generic adding spoken word talking about music over actual music, the poetic nature of the delivery and description of the effects and emotions that music can bring, really worked with the piano I had written for this song.'

'Seventh Sign' was initially intended an experiment in cello recordings through an effects pedal but ended up being track brimming with pure techno groove. Second Skin is the perfect finale embracing epic elements of broken beat and even IDM sensibilities with a gorgeously misguided horn leading the march.

On Serenade, Tom Demac shows he has what it takes to reconfigure the vitality of what emotive techno can be. A central force that has kept the beat of Kompakt's heart in rhythm since day one.

Vinyl Only

After some releases on prestigious labels like Moods & Grooves, Phonogramme or Pariter, the Lisiere Collectif trio returns on their own label with LSR No. 04 EP, a collection of three original tracks, genuine worked for different moments of a clubnight.

WOLF Music reissue offshoot, Nothing Is Lost, strike gold again with their second release. The four track sampler cherry picks some of the greatest dub mixes to grace the legendary Easy Street label’s hall of fame, reissued and remastered.

Side A serves up two proto-house bombs dubbed out to the high heavens by the one and only Paul Simpson. Firstly, Sleeque’s sumptuous ‘One For The Money’, gets a tougher makeover with Simpson’s classic touches to the drums, echoes in all the right places and delicate splices of choice vocal refrains and piano stabs. Likewise for the A2, Simpson focuses in on that peach of a bassline from Paradise Girls – Holding Back, coupling it with Special-Intention-esque synths and cascading percussive ripples.

On the flip side, it’s a Blaze masterclass. First up, Alexander Hope (aka Josh Milan / one half of Blaze) ‘Let The Music Take You’. Produced alongside Blaze counterpart Kevin Hedge, the track gets the remix treatment from Klub Head – a further alias the two held. Honing in on the vibraphone mastery and bumping house rhythms they juice up the original with all the ethereal soul you could ever want.

Closing out the EP, a onetime collaboration between Blaze and Otis Vick, System VIII’s super soulful ‘Underground (Untouched Dub)’. Josh Milan’s exquisite and iconic vocals marry with sweet sax licks providing the perfect late night groover or, just as equally, the ultimate beachside roller.

"Love Can't Turn Around" is a Chicago House ANTHEM! A true classic of the genre. Universally recognized and loved, it made history as the very first House record to reach the UK singles charts in 1986 and continues to find new fans today.

Inspired heavily by Isaac Hayes' underground Disco smash "I Can't Turn Around", a record that was very big in various Chicago clubs getting plays from DJ's like Ron Hardy, Frankie Knuckles and more. With "Love Can't Turn Around" Farley and Jesse re-appropriated Hayes' Disco vibe and updated it with drum machines, synths and of course, Mr.Darryl Pandy's unique vocal performance centering around the desperation of a lover who has been wronged. A truly influential track that opened the doors for many producers and DJ's in the decades to follow.

Here, for the first time, the definitive mixes of this all time classic record are available in one place.
Re-mastered and re-issued in conjunction with Trax Records this essential Chicago record lives on.

"Now this is how it started"

Imago Sessions Vol.1 opens with a short spoken word piece where the speaker reflects on embracing the many different moods &, sounds depending from a versatile DJ and producer.

The remaining 3 instrumental tracks are best suited to be played for those on the dance floor that can recognize good house music as soon as they hear it, or even for those that enjoy soulful house on a proper sound system in their living spaces.
Started in 2011, Soul Imago has been selective on what to press on vinyl, and this latest offering from Soulphiction was definitely worth the wait. Enjoy !

Coming as the third edition, ‘EP3’ stays true to the series, committing Defected’s biggest digital releases to wax, and delivering upfront packages of house heat previously unavailable on vinyl. The A-Side is comprised of classic tracks that have been given fresh life for with new remixes, kicking off with Mousse T.’s re-work of Dennis Ferrer’s ‘Hey Hey’, followed by Dario D’Attis’ remix of Kings Of Tomorrow’s ‘Finally’. The B-Side opens with one of the label’s current biggest releases, Purple Disco Machine’s remix of the unmistakable ‘Praise You’ by Fatboy Slim, an effortlessly sophisticated re-work and guaranteed dancefloor knockout. Closing the release is Mattei & Omich’s ‘I’ll House U’, maintaining the theme this series has established, celebrating Defected’s classic house roots in time for label’s 20th anniversary year.

It's a while since we last heard from Knopha, a well-regarded rising star who impressed with his first two EPs on Push & Pull and Eating Music. Here he returns to action via a label debut on the freshly minted Chinese imprint Regret Sound. It's an attractively percussive, off-kilter and curiously psychedelic affair, with Knopha offering up two distinctively different tracks based around the same basic Afro-house style tribal rhythm track: the hallucinatory and feverish ambient house humidity of "Gym A", and the even more spaced-out, drum-heavy weird-out that is "Gym B". Bonus cut "Stretch", a drowsy, chiming and warming drift through echoing synth-ambient territory, is also superb. Recommended.

The newly founded - Picture:' series of Diynamic is a document in time, showcasing an artist's current creative output in order to allow the listener to visualise and understand the artist at a certain moment. It is not an album format, but far more than merely an EP. 'Picture:' is various dancefloor-oriented facettes of one producer, shaping the imagery that ultimately results in the listeners mind.
The first episode of the 'Picture:' series is hosted by Lehar.

Masterworks Music are back on the vinyl trail with their 15th 12" release, with Italian disco stallion Gledd in charge of the disco funk.

While some EPs might offer some down time and lower-tempo numbers, Soul Shapes goes for the dancefloor jugular with all four cuts designed to get you up and grooving.

Lead track 'Light of Florence' cleverly builds with strings and stylish background synths before dropping into a soul-searching vocal and gorgeous keys. With driving percussion, a walking bassline and cleverly restrained dynamics, it builds and bubbles with endless groove.

Follow up 'I Just Want You' builds on that teasing disco funk by upping the tempo and adding in blaring horns, a sizzling Rhodes breakdown that will have you playing air keys and yet more disco groove. Peak time, warm up, opening slot, closing track - this will work anywhere.

On the flipside, 'Of Rainbows' is a brilliantly-worked filter disco track, cleverly teasing in the disco loop with drop-dead-gorgeous strings before dropping back down to a deep house (and we mean deeeeeep house) bassline that carries the track from start to finish.

Gledd closes out the all-killer EP with 'Your Mind.' With Chic-style wah-wah guitars, clever drum fills and yet another stonking bassline, it's another beautifully crafted disco groover that cleverly blurs the line between peak-time heater and perfect warm-up material.

"Inspiration EP" focuses on some of his finest productions from the mid '90s that were only available on his rare "Aqua" vinyl promo EP.

This releases makes an effort to capture Don Carlos' unique approach on classic House with lot of Afro-american jazz sounds and ambient influences, that created a timeless deep jazzy house with a strong Mediterranean twist on it!

Repress...!

Defected Records serve up heavy-hitters CamelPhat, OFFAIAH, Josh Butler and David Penn on this covetable 12” vinyl release showcasing some of their current hottest productions. CamelPhat & Ali Love kick-start side A with their killer ‘Dopamine Machine’, the follow up to the chart-smashing hit ‘Cola’. Injected with an intoxicating vocal hook and a body-jerking beat, this record has been on heavy rotation in clubs and festivals all summer. Next up, OFFAIAH delivers his adrenaline-pumping ‘Work It Out’, a firm favourite amongst the BBC Radio 1 Dance crew and certified to set the roof on fire.

Side B sees DJ Mag and Beatport award-winning producer Josh Butler blend uplifting synths and rave stabs with powerhouse vocals by soul duo HanLei on ‘Feels Good’. Ending this dynamite release, David Penn returns to Defected after eight years with his classic house party-starter ‘Nobody’, laying down a hell of a lot of soul on a thundering bassline and piano riffs. This is a rare opportunity to cop these massive artists under on one exceptional vinyl release.

Kaizenrecords presents to you the Parisian duo Ilyes & Gauvain with four groovy bombs. Long awaited now ready to drop.

Emerging from a city steeped in dance music culture, Chicago’s John Summit is fast becoming one of the city’s brightest rising stars. With standout releases on impressive imprints such as Repopulate Mars, Dirtybird and Farris Wheel Recordings, his steadfast approach to producing innovative and dancefloor-ready cuts continues to turn heads on the international scene. Now unveiling his latest offering ‘Deep End’, this captivating house cut, with an addictive bassline, hypnotic vocal and agile percussion, is set to enchant its listeners and secure Summit on the radar of in-the-know selectors.

Low-slung house with that dusty sampled soul on one side and a disco house pumper on the other, JARC Sounds return with another double header you need in your life.

‘Brooklyn Baby’ hits all the right chords from the off. With that New York skyline in sight, jazz infused keys, dream-like pads and swooning vocal snippets take you to a rooftop blowout looking out over the Kings County.

Flip it over, for a thumping, disco channelling, house belter aptly named ‘Love Ecstasy’, that’s sure to become a staple across the scene.

Again, Stefan Ringer brings forth that heat! Four tracks made for the floor. The A1 “DoU?” begins with the classic phrase “she loves me, she loves me not”. A nod to the tunneling vocals throughout the track. Hard hitting drums and percussion get you pumped and ready to take the journey. Deep emotional chords press on; as a thumping sub bass line connects everything together. A2 is “The Loop”. Crispy 808 claps and hats lure your ears, while deeper chord stabs wrap everything in a package you can’t refuse. The real star is the fat almost hollow bass line that hypnotizes you. The angelic synth harmonica solos throughout leave you begging for more. B1, “Reach”, features the silk-like vocals of Detroit’s own Javonntte. The chord stabs, drums, and bass line really show out on this track. Proven to work in clubs across the world, by the likes of Kai Alcé, JT Donaldson, Ash Lauryn, ByronThe Aquarius, Wajeed, Patrice Scott, and Touching Bass, this one is definitely for the floor. Finally the B2, “Love2U”, showcases Stefan’s ability to slow things down without missing a step. Smooth, simple, and intelligent, the melody is the star of this track. Sensual and expressive vocals convey the message of this tune. The solo provided near the end articulates how much more there is to come from Stefan and this label. You need this.

Bogota based venue Kaputt kicks starts the label side of things with seven track compilation featuring Alejandro Paz, Nuclear Digital Transistor, Eddie Mercury & Mijo, Rodion, Kabinett, Damon Jee & Ravintsara, Alvaro Cabana & Julian Sanza.

Born from the new Bogota based club who’ve invited the likes of Call Super, Axel Boman, Kornel Kovacs and more, Kaputt launch a brand new label from the enigmatic streets of Colombia’s capital.
Bogota is a place where the underground scene has recently built a new sound of resistance, a sound that sets the local scene alight through unity and community and is now moving on to break down
international borders.

First up is Alejandro Paz, a Chilean musician and DJ whose music is characterized by vocal displacement and musical selection, full of dark Latin American material. His track 'Bogotá' is a lively
dark disco cut with rugged bass and angular rhythms that are finished with some acid melodies. Eddie Mercury then links with Mexican Mijo for the frazzled bass and dystopian bleep-disco cascades of the
excellent 'Chundify.'

The Nuclear Digital Transistor duo is two DJs from the Bogota scene, Pal and Pizarro, who have released on the Ombra International label run by Curses. Their 'Borrador 9' is cosmic groove with crisp
boom bap drums, hits and plenty of stepping arps that reach for the skies. Rodion is from Rome and is regarded as the “new genius of Italian Dance music” after releases on Gomma, Eskimo and City
Slang. He shows why with the chugging dark disco anthem and freaky vocals of 'Processare.'

Critical Monday boss Damon Jee has released on the likes of Correspondant Records, Roam and Hafendisco and is well regarded by from the likes of Joris Voorn to Chris Liebing. Here he links with
Ravintsara for 'Medea' which is filled with post-punk energy, tense synth progressions and real dance floor darkness. Next up is Kabinett, the darkest side of Colombia’s Nicolás Saavedra, co-founder of Nomada Records and someone who offers up 'Don Kebab' here - a skyward track with big disco arps and twisted bass all gliding along and getting the floor under its spell. Last of all, Alvaro Cabana &
Julian Sanza link for 'Psychedelic Advise' which is moody and haunting, with stark hits and metallic synths that ride over rugged and macho drums

Vol. 3 of the popular Vinyl series 'A Box of Goodies' brings four more brilliant oldschool house tracks, only on limited wax!
'Nervouz Jam' is the opener and brings that special 90s feeling with dope leads and deep bass lines.
'Only Luv' is a soulful, dark and deep track with great sax snippets and warm synth pads.
'Jazzy Bonus' comes along with an edgy beat and will drive you crazy with dope jazz piano loops. Booom!
'U Jus Dance' grabs you and takes you to the deep underground where extreme swing beats, deep kicks and dry snares meet ingenious vocal samples.

For this project called 'the joint venture', Inner Shift are teaming up alongside Deep Explorer. This part on Inner Shift follows the first part which was released earlier this year on Deep Explorer. .Mahal. is a Japanese producer and dj with a history of playing music with previous releases on Rough House Rosie. The "Space Space Ep Part 2" contains 3 original tracks that dive into deep house with a more abstract edge. Red & Blue immediately captures your attention with original sensual guitar and vocal lines. Remix duties are courtesy of the Deep Explorers Above Smoke and Dubbyman taking Red & Blue into a broken beat downtempo space. On the B side Behind the Scene has a more abstract edge, and Mind Games with its driving acid bassline is complimented by lush chords keeping it warm and deep.

Mint Condition continue their mission excavating the outer fringes of classic House and Techno. Unreleased mixes, classics and overlooked gems mined from the last 20+ of contemporary dance music are the order of the day. Dig in....

Back to 1994 and Charles Webster's lesser used Together Trax alias brings us 4 tracks of that deep, soulful and slamming garage house sound. Released on UR's much celebrated Happy Soul sub-label, famed for its gospel soaked, piano driven uplifting jams, Together Trax serves it up in fine style. Strange for UR to sign 4 cuts from a guy from Derbyshire, but once you hear both sets of mixes of 'Celebrate / Ain't Nothin' Wrong' it all makes sense! Both tracks could have come from the deepest, darkest basement session in downtown Detroit no problem, and it's obvious why Mad Mike signed them. This is old-school house, for the connoisseur who remembers how it used to be, way back. When dance music was fun and put a smile on your fave. Often a rare catch, this 12" fetches tidy sums in the netherworld of Discogs and the like, but now it's here again, lovingly restored and ready to make its way into your record bag once again.

Together Trax has been legitimately re-released with the full involvement of Charles Webster and was remastered by London's Curve Pusher from the original DAT's especially for Mint Condition. 100% legit, licensed and released. Dug, remastered, repackaged and brought to you by the caring folks at your favourite reissue label - Mint Condition!

San Fran’s rising star and Shall Not Fade fave, Computer Data, returns to Lost Palms with 4 slick, deep tracks to satisfy your sonic needs.

Colourful opener ‘Seele’ marries hazy, lo-fi vocals with bright synths and dreamy pads. A lush escape, one for lazy days watching clouds pass by. Next, let the thick deep grooves of Broken wash over you - soulful, enigmatic vocals tug on the heart strings, dancing over a silky, mesmerising melody. On the flip, ‘Departure’ is a slow burning house number with Computer Data’s own spin, stripped back kicks driving into an ethereal electronic wonderland. Taking us through to a soul-soothing sunrise, ‘Veloren’ rounds out the EP. Uplifting, nonchalant, deep house to wash away your troubles.

We present you the second installment of our limited only vinyl series, Esuoh Limited 002. This release includes four original tracks from UC Beatz, Keita Sano, Manuold & Yann Polewka.

You think you’ve heard anything? Strap yourself in and get comfortable for the journey! Payola’s first release is ‘Ugly Freedom’ (TOKA Remix) a collaboration between two adversaries – VEE VV and TOKA.

Two specialists in their own right, they have produced something special, something spellbinding, something entirely unique and uncompromising.

Still sitting comfortably? You shouldn’t be! An amalgam, a spark, a blistering fusion of purpose conjoined, sending shards of rhythmic shrapnel into the stratosphere. Pounding sub-bass, seamlessly executed edits of live drums, boiler-bass, searing guitar, soaring keys and vocals featuring a scintillating, lyrical dexterity and skilful phraseology delivered with a poignant authenticity. A totally unapologetic perspective on today’s social mores, “Sentiment, humanity, have no right to reside in this Betfred economy!”

Don’t take our word for it!

An artist who's making a huge name for himself right now with sell-out releases on the likes of 1080p, Shall Not Fade and Church.

Based in Australia, I've Always Like Grime' is a track that has a serious amount of hype behind it with people talking about this tune for some time, the reaction to hearing of its release was strong across UTTU's social networks.

finally repressed !

The Vivus family ends 2018 in style with its fifth instalment in the vinyl-only series VRV. This release brings back some familiar faces in label founder Daniel Broesecke and an old friend in Silat Beksi.

These two close friends who share their passion for music are fresh off their release on Curtea Veche back in September but they bring some raw energy on this one, resulting in timeless and hypnotic music from two creative young artists.

The first track, Mistral, starts off as strong as you would expect from its name, deriving from the cold northwesterly wind that blows from the south of France to the northern Mediterranean. The heavy bassline floats just above the surface as a cool breeze of atmospheric sounds make their way across.

Next up, on the B side, we have Get Some More, with a calmer approach but powerful nonetheless. An unexpected vocal greets us at the beginning only to make way for a steady flow of uninterrupted intertwined noises that go hand in hand with the firm bass line just underneath.

4 fresh tracks from 4 great producers. First is Carl Gambino (She Can't Love You), test driven at DC10 and parties like S.A.S.H. in Australia. A beautiful House track full of warmth, swing & groove with subtle vocals throughout. A2 on the A side is Lee Onel from Fuerteventura with Pepon, driven by its baseline, skippy percussion and in true Lee Onel style, a long breakdown arranged perfectly to jump start the crowd. With heavy early support on Ibiza Global Radio and the islands dance floors, its more than made its mark. B1 The label welcomes back Julenn with Long Shot. Another great slice of House music led by its strong kick, light hats and dirty baseline. B2 The unstoppable Russian, Legit Trip is back on the label with Brat, a pure groove leading into a straight up breakdown before catching the groove again right to the end.

Essential 90's Aubrey-Productions, don't snooze ...

Today sees South London based producer and DJ, HUNA share his debut single ‘Knok’.

‘Knok’ is an original and forward-facing statement of intent from the emerging producer. The percussive, bass-heavy cut sees HUNA leaning into febrile glitchy rhythms, rattling breaks and subtle dissonance that are gently balanced by atmospheric synths and a piano motif.

Growing up in a rural satellite town in the south of England, HUNA’s exposure to electronic music was minimal and the internet was where his fascination for the genre flourished, becoming the source of his eclectic style. Despite being at the dawn of his career, the producer is already making waves cutting his teeth as a resident DJ at Rye Wax in Peckham and he has been supported by re:ni, Lurka, Jossy Mitsu, Yak, Pugilist, Piezo, Etch, Pépe, Martha, Sputnik One, Denham Audio, Guava, Tom Blip, Banoffee Pies, Cabasa, Debba, Naina, Truska, Kincaid and more. His fresh sound design-centred approach to club music makes him a newcomer with serious clout.

At two releases deep, Negative Space Ma has established itself as one of the most vital new imprints in leftfield electronic music. Priding themselves on discovering stylishly idiosyncratic producers, this latest single follows previous releases from unperson and R.O.S.H as well as renowned label club nights that featured early bookings of tastemakers such as object blue, upsammy, CCL, TASHA + more.

Freshly anointed as one of DJ Mag's labels to watch in 2019, Enclave Records returns with one of its strongest packages to date.

Remaining faithful to its ethos of getting behind talented emerging artists, Enclave's sixth outing presents a split EP that is as deep as it is immediate.

Ausburg native and former hip-hop prodigy Mode Panta opens proceedings with two missives that waste no time in letting you know what he's all about: snotty 909's, melancholic old-school trance sounds and groovy basses are joyously melded to contemporary house and techno motifs absolutely of the here and now.

Heading to the flip, Stockholm-based Niklas Andersson pushes on with two cuts that drive at opposing ends of the night-time agenda. As a founding member of the 1991 collective and the music and arts project MÅL TVÅ, Niklas effortlessly supplies both peak-time and after-hours ammunition of the highest order.
