House Vinyl New Releases - News

Emerging deep from within the depths of the Brooklyn underground. Upsetting Keys seeks to inform, to educate and inundate. This time they are armed with emotional, unknown electronic structures that originated back in the late 90s. The audio sculptures presented on this release specifically pass somewhere in a shape between total art form and other, much more subliminal and subdued opaque constructs. reade truth, iconic producer of planet e and sonic groove fame, rewinds all the way back to his first imprint, reintroducing to the public to the elusive and oft hyped Path Records.

Upsetting Keys, a name whispered privately by elite DJ's around the world, is a modern example of the electronic, underground real deal. Almost 15 years ago, Jake Reif (L.I.E.S, Savage Hymn) started his production career working alongside Reade Truth @ his infamous Zone of FX studio; each of them expressing in a unique, uncompromising style a frustration and dissatisfaction with music scene, politics, life and everything in general. Regularly intense, 24 hour studio sessions resulted in the inimitable sound-scapes that have come to be known as "Upsetting Keys".

Back in 2001, their debut EP "Empathy" was a silent masterpiece, inhibited only by sound quality and availability. Finally, these tracks get the treatment they initially deserved, with proper audio mastering carefully applied. Upsetting Keys, initially trapped in an era where dull throw-away concepts dominated early techno culture, can now freely present their unusual techniques which involved impossible sampling, maniacal rhythms and infectious melodic content, all of which lay waste to those past aesthetics.

After a long hiatus, both Path Records and flagship artist, Upsetting Keys can be appreciated for what it was, and still is... ground-breaking innovative punk spiritualism, surprisingly not unsimiliar from their peers: Front 242, Skinny Puppy, Cabaret Voltaire, Derrick May and so on.

Grab your space suit! The BlackFoxMusic crew steps out of our solar system. How is this better described as with the words of Jimmy Carter: "This is a present from a small, distant world, a
token of our sounds, our science, our images, our music, our thoughts and our feelings. We are attempting to survive our time so we may live into yours." Our new compilation "Kapitel 4" features 8 intergalactic tracks, almost all previously unreleased, by the BlackFoxMusic artists Alex Q, Robert Babicz, Masterton, Tagträumer², Millimetric, Lars Wickinger, Toureau and David Carretta.

"Passion's Journey" a remarkable, groundbreaking and genuinely outstanding Album. Bjak delivers 13 highly sophisticated songs using his vast musical variety. Entirely perfectly balanced fusing all creative ingredients to form an epic sound experience. All in all and on top with renowned musicians Yogi Lonich on guitar, Ireesh Lal on trumpet and, Leddie Garcia on percussions House Music gets some sort of a new definition.

Salin Records warmly welcomes Diamond to the family, a very
talented, young producer based in Oxford (UK), who found a
place in our heart. When Diamond reached out to us with a raw
demo of "Target Blue" we couldn’t get the melody out of our
heads for days. The track instantly put a smile on our face and
with Alex Wilson's sax lines it spreads an enormous energy
which made us feel as if we were 20 again. Later Diamond
came up with "Pen Burns The Paper" and "You Like Jazz?"
which built an awesome fundament for an artist EP. There
couldn't be a better title than "You Like Jazz? EP" as it reflects
the personality of the producer - Diamond, who has a kind of
obsession with Jazz but at the same time is not too serious
about it. We also welcome our dear friend Tour-Maubourg to
the label. His breakient mix of "Target Blue" is a brilliant
example of where inspiration can lead you if you just let it go.
His talent for creating emotions is outstanding. Daria Salin
adapted the power of Diamonds music in her painting. We are
happy and proud to serve you Salin008 "Diamond - You Like
Jazz? EP", an EP that deserves a special place in your record
shelf. Thank you for your support <3

Italian duo Howl Ensemble team up with Turquoise Blue to release four infectious cuts entitled ‘Be Punk As Fuck’ EP.

Italy’s Howl Ensemble – made up of Giovanni Verrina and Germano Ventura enrich a deep, effervescent production style concentrated on the freedom of expression and creativity. In addition to releasing music on Tour Records, Nilla and Infuse, the pair established their Howl Records imprint that embodies a philosophy of releasing dancefloor focused music contributed to by the likes of Dana Ruh, Bassa Clan, 100 Hz and more. Howl Ensemble’s ‘Be Punk As Fuck’ EP sees the duo join the Turquoise Blue family following the likes of DJ Jes, Dan Curtin, Phonogenic and Ekkohaus to name a few.

‘In An Age Of Cruelty’ begins proceedings with alleviating melodies, low-slung bass chords and raw, shuffling percussion before ‘Kindness’ deploys dynamic synth sweeps, rolling low-frequencies and effervescent rhythms maintaining a consistent energy throughout.

On the flip, an organic drum sequence fused with eccentric modulations and undulating deepness takes the focus in ‘Is Punk As Fuck’ until ‘Be Punk As Funk’ rounds things off with broken-beat rhythms and irresistible vocal flutters floating over sparse pad work and funk-infused bass grooves

Nicetraxuk hand over the production reins totally to Li'l Mark (Classic, MFF, Apollo) on this 12" and digital release. The ep starts off with 'Inevitable' which builds slowly with plenty of synth work over a tight driving beat. At its crescendoAthe deep bass synths take over and away we go! Driving synths and padsAweave through this track from start to end with syncopated class.'Be afraid' follows, starting out with a spacey vibe over a bouncing beat which drops outAto introduce a snippet of vocal and a huge, vibrating stretched bassline this track has it all-spacey, deep and driving with diverse and crafted sounds swirling around keeping the dance floor constantly engaged. Flip the 12"A over to find 'F IT',A another bass driven tech track with a great vocal stab. Mark really turns it up a notch here to create an enormous sounding track, using all his years of knowledge and production to pull all the elements together to work together perfectly. This track has been causing serious damage on the dance floor when tested out! TheA12" isAconcluded in old school fashion with an acappella (or as he calls it Itapella) for the true DJs out there! The perfect way to round off this brilliant EP

Kreattones is back with this fourth installment.

Lyon´s Ortella brings it back to the raw with pure 4 by 4 beats ands dry synths on this 4 track EP. “You wanna Dance” lets it all out

straight to the dance floor, while “We´re doomed” takes a darker approach, with profound beats and bass. The Portuguese trio SOUKO

(Andy Book & Whitenoise) add an extra flavour to this record with their hipnotic remix of this track. Definitely a project to look for in

the near future. “DeepRaw” is a head-nodding piece of Original House Music full of drops and twists along the way.

Amigos Vagabundo Club Social have truly found their voice with Pambele – three songs that marry their work over the last few years and their and the musical heritage of their upbringing on the north coast of Colombia in Barranquilla.

Pambele is a lilting, bouncy percussion workout that is a perfect homage to Colombian boxing legend.

Flip for the heads-down shuffle of Esclavo 29, sultry beats undulates up and down the groove. Angayusa closes the EP out with pure day party vibes: light and easy Rhodes, live bass, trumpet and slightly off-kilter arp.

FAINA started as a party in the beautiful coast city of Aveiro (Portugal). We soon realised that the characteristic sound of our crew had to be shared. In our label debut "local heroes" WHITENOISE team up with "the perfectionist" FRAGOSO for two vibrant house tracks, both vocal and looking for a packed dancefloor. French uprising producer Julenn gives an extra flavour to 'Elevator' on his remix, and the "wonder kids" Lazer Mike deliver 'Caffeine' a mental and edgy bonus track. Stay tunned for more FAINA instalments this year.

If you've been wondering when Inner Shift music was gong to put their collective stamp on their own imprint, wonder no more. 2DeepSoul finally join the label with the four track Windows EP.
The first track 'Clarity' is a cosmic takeoff, full of lush pads with a travelling lead and a rolling bassline. 'Contour Lines' takes a more intelligent approach with a deeper bass and hypnotic chord stabs, enhanced by the musings of a great modern philosopher. In contrast on the B side 'Someday' takes a step away with sheer ethereal ambience where you could happily float away into deep space. Last but certainly not least we have 'It's a Sign', the subtler dreamy affair, showing off layers of psychedelic but emotive rhythm and tones, swirling together in the same lovely atmosphere. The Windows EP is everything and more that you would expect from 2DeepSoul... enjoy.

A consistent source of clued-in house and techno, Archie Hamilton's Moscow imprint has been feeding discerning fans of electronic music since 2010. During that time, the London- based producer has supported established and up-and-coming names alike, those more often with a focus geared towards the dancefloor. The label's latest offering comes from Hamilton himself, who teams up with Panick Panick! label owner Noha, offering a collaborative EP that is a fitting snapshot into the work of both individuals.

The NoHamilton EP gets underway with 'Lip Service', a rough-and-ready track with firm emphasis on a grinding, hypnotic loop that easily surpasses your average DJ tool. Highly finessed and progressing steadily, it's the perfect example of how to do less with more.

Looking towards more sun-kissed planes, the duo deliver the EP's A2 track, a more heads- down cut that's loaded with good-time grooves from the get go. Sure to work a charm whenever it's unleashed, 'Bored of Life' serves up an intriguing insight into both producers' boundless studio output.

Romanian duo SIT culminate matters with their 'Lip Service' rework. Consisting of Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia, the pair have been excelling consistently, with both their Resident Advisor mix and latest release on the iconic Sushitech label proving a potent reminder of this. Taking the listener down the rabbit hole once more, they inject Archie Hamilton & Noha's original with an eerie sheen, also adding an off-kilter baseline that's hard not to get lost in. A suitably groove-led but unconventional interpretation, it closes off the EP with the sort of distinction we've come to expect from Moscow.

Having taken its natural course over the past 18 months Peckham's YAM Records are making the move from retail to production. Continuing our celebration of local talent, both unsung and established, we aim to bring all styles of music together under the YAM Recordings wing. They've been a permanent and ever-hilarious part of the shop since day one so it only seemed right that our first release should feature Chaos In The CBD. Distilling their sound over the past few years, Beans and Louis make the highest quality house music, which is perfectly demonstrated on this two-track EP.Global Erosion' sees long-time collaborator Isaac Aesili contribute horn hooks and live percussion to this truly deep and emotional journey. On the flip, 'Background Explorer' turns up the heat with an 8-minute heads-down transcendental percussion and drum workout, the surging chords and rainforest calls forcing the head to follow the feet.

Not much info on this one. Two serious cuts on a hand stamped red record with a D2B logo. Think fast, these won't hang around for long.

Helder Russo is the youngest of eleven, raised in Lisbon in a family from the island of Santiago, Cabo Verde. He's a prolific music producer with a couple of heavy releases on Groovement Recordings and as half of Gatupreto on TINK!.
Russo's music is thought out and solid, his reference list is long and diverse, citing Rhythm & Sound in the same context as Miles Davis, Sade, the late great MJ, Boo Williams, Carl Craig or Jay Dilla. The result is a soundtrack composed with care and attention, detailed and rich though still powerful and present.
The title track, Church Music, presents a demanding exercise in joy and spiritual ecstasy. An organic, syncopated groove that elegantly disposes the obvious steady kick drum for a relentless organ chord that sets the moody tone for what comes: sharp claps, cutting high hats, dense, dramatic pads and a bone chilling key solo from record label's mate Daino. It's an ode to the primordial tradition, the transcending unity one feels in the midst of a gospel church. The relentless dance floor version picks up where the original left off, giving it the best steady house beat with all the right swing, it's a no brainer pick for the peak time club moments of deeper elegance a flawless flip on the original that reflects the chemistry and magic that happens when Russo hooks up with his mate Kaspar.
The somewhat apologetically named New Beat bares all the marks of a brilliant gush of emotional genius: it is sincere, transparent, original and unpredictable. Warm pads convey beauty, harshly contrasted by a nasty and off grid arpeggiated bass line while a deep sub layer floats under a hot break beat. The standout moment is the piano break down that serves as a beautiful interlude for the grand reprise at the end.
Finally, You & Me rocks an amazing 90's R'n'B vibe, that is both classic and classy! It's a track that borrows heavily from Russo's upbringing and background in urban music, made whole with a clear futuristic vibe that pays great respect to the immense richness of the most classic 313 electronic sound.
Russo's Church Music EP is a must have for the true electronic soul lover, a work of academic worth and is sure to break ground in many a forward thinking dance floor.

Grammy award winner Louie Vega set the worldwide music and club community on fire in 2018 with his renowned NYC Disco album. Released on Double CD and 2X Double - Pack vinyl, the album represented Louie's personal homage to the disco genre that has played such an important role in the evolution of music. In furthering his goal of making this album available and accessible to DJ's and fans of all formats and configurations, he has now made 7' edits of select tracks from the album, to be released on a Triple Pack 7' collection with a custom jacket on Nervous Records.

'It was important for me to release vinyl on the NYC disco project for all our vinyl family worldwide. And now doing the 45 / 7' project even takes it a step further giving you eclecticism in our musical landscape. Enjoy the musical flavor of the NYC Disco, Nervous, Sam Records & Vega Family sounds!' - Louie Vega

This triple pack 7' collection includes five songs, and each one played a unique role in making the NYC Disco project so special:

Record 1 Side A - Louie Vega / Get With The Funk featuring Josh Milan 3:17 - a collaboration between Louie and vocalist / keyboardist Josh Milan from the seminal House / R&B group Blaze.

Record 1 Side B - Louie Vega / Love Paradox featuring The Martinez Brothers 3:35 - a collaboration between Louie and The Martinez Brothers. Inspired by a disco horn loop, with live musicians brought in to add layers of funk and soul and disco to the groove.

Record 2 Side A - Louie Vega / Last Night A DJ Saved My Life featuring Anané and Tony Touch 3:58 - this was the last track produced for the album. Anané Vega, also a producer and DJ in her own right, had the idea to do an updated version. For the rap in the break they brought in well known New York based DJ / MC Tony Touch.

Record 2 Side B - Louie Vega / Love Fantasy featuring Cindy Mizelle 3:35 - Originally produced and released by Roy Ayers in 1980. Louie has always been a fan of Roy Ayers and has done collaborations with him. Louie felt a cover version of this song would be a great ending for the album.

Record 3 Side A - John Davis & The Monster Orchestra / I Can't Stop Featuring DJ Jazzy Jeff (Louie Vega Remix) 4:02 -

One of the essential Break Beat records that has been acclaimed by hip hop originators like Grand Master Flash and Jam Master Jay as one of the formative tunes that helped create the genre. Knowing that DJ Jazzy Jeff is a master of the hip hop genre, Louie felt he would be a great addition to this remix, adding his world class scratching skills to Louie's remix, thereby creating the definitive hip hop version of this seminal disco track.

Record 3 Side B - John Davis & The Monster Orchestra / I Can't Stop (Louie Vega Remix) 4:02 - this version does not include the hip hop scratches, and is Louie's respectful homage to John Davis the producer and one of his more acclaimed works from the Sam Records catalogue.

Presenting a fully legit, remastered and repackaged reissue of this extremely sought after, cult 12" from Melancholy Man featuring unreleased music. Brand new for 2019.

London's Warriors Dance label was a unique operation and a pioneering London label during the late 80's acid house phenomena. Home to an assortment of DJs, MCs and soundmen, they went on to make their own original and indelible mark on the rave scene from the infamous 'Addis Ababa' studio on Harrow Road on the North-West side of the city. A former reggae and soul studio that was instrumental to the output of influential artists like Soul II Soul and more, a steady diet of reggae, bass, hip-hop, house and techno kept their edgy, and diehard UK sound and style right at the cutting edge of the dance music underground across the globe with the top DJs and producers of the day celebrating the label. The studio, helmed by label owner Tony ‘Addis’, acted as an incubator for artists whose names would go down in the history books.

Melancholy Man was a name synonymous with the crew, a name with a lot of weight, considering it was one of many of Tony Addis himself's production nom de plume's employed when behind the boards. 'Precaution' is that WD rawness, driving break-beat warehouse business with a massive dose of euphoria, the way it should be done. Included here are the original mixes from the 1991 OG 12", but as an added bonus, there is an unreleased, taken from Tony Addis' DAT archive mix that has never seen the light of day. That's 4 different mixes of this stormer that will fit into versatile DJ sets, straight from the source!

The EP is presented again. No edits, no remixes, just the pure unadulterated WD vibe, featuring original label artwork tweaked by Atelier Superplus and lovingly remastered by Optimum Mastering, Bristol, UK. Special thanks to Nicky Trax & Tony Addis. Proudly distributed by Above Board distribution. 2018.

John Talabot and Axel Boman teamed up in 2017 for their R&S debut 'The Night Land' where they got to flex their creative muscles over eight tracks of rich synth jams.
The two electronic artists have been independently successful in their respective careers, but as Pitchfork expressed in their glowing review 'Their collective output doesn't sound much like either's work; it doesn't even necessarily reflect the thin, convex sliver where their interests overlap. Instead, they've hit upon something new.' This new sound also proved to be a hit with the likes of Mojo, Phonica, XLR8R, Self Titled and DJ Mag all including it their annual best of lists.
The artists have now handpicked four artists to create their own vision of the Talaboman sound.
Superpitcher, Samo DJ and Luke Slater under his L.B. Dub Corp alias have all seriously delivered the goods.

Our fifth release is coming from the East. Scruscru is making his debut appearance on the label alongside Jehan. London-based Joe Corti on remix duties.

In 1997, Club U Nite Records released the EP '4 Tracks of Pleasure'. Now, 22 years later comes Volume 2 - Four tracks of pure pleasure:
'Kickin' Da Bass' keeps what the title promises and always remains minimal and very effective. Stomper!
Let It Flow stings a bit deeper into the old school house heart and brings you deep bass with pumping synth pads.
B1 starts with 'Sunshine', a track with a positive vibe. The flowing melodic themes and jazzy elements immediately give you the feeling of sun, beach and house music.
The EP ends with 'The Deep' a downtempo track so beautiful and timeless.

Launched in 2018 with two first EPs, Broken District continues to explore alternative music styles with the third instalment of its VA series.

The label's territory here expands to Jazz & Soul-influenced electronic music landscapes, with productions from Turbojazz, Setwun, Leon Revol, Duktus and the label's co-founders Jus Jam and Momla.

Banoffee Pies Records return to their original white label imprint for another limited EP with BP003. TIP. Again the Bristol label continue to compile artists and styles from all over following there no f***s given approach.
The one sided A1 heavily samples a drum solo from the blockbuster film of 2015 Whiplash, a strung out track filled with space and delicate percussion. Jaffa Surfas B1 provides a mid way techno break pumped with analog sounds and a swirling kick throughout. To end, the finely unearthed and re-issued B2 edit closes this diverse release with a bang offering something completely different. Rolling jazz feelings for the dance floor. More love for the Banoffee people.

An intense psychedelic trip inside the world of a producer who expresses the loneliness of working in a studio, without any ambition. Honest music with a huge amount of emotional intensity.

"Oozing.. oozing soul, oozing feel, oozing the essence of rhythm and the body. This is what Elbee Bad is about. A native New Yorker who has long since transplanted himself in Berlin, Elbee Bad AKA The Prince of Dance is back on Thema Recordings with a masterclass mini album that will resonate for years to come. "Crossing Dimensions" is more than just a record, it is a philosophy on turntablism and what it means to be engaged in this culture. Sitting comfortably on the shelf next to artists like Mr. G, Moodymann, and DJ Sprinkles, Elbee recalls this genuine house feeling while adding a spice that could only be summoned out of his creative nuance. From the anthemic knowledge of "Request Monster" to the bass blistering sonnets of "Crossing Dimensions", Elbee showcases the sound of an artist who is deeply in touch with himself, the crowd, and the history of this music. No filler, no bullshit, just truth, love, and HOUSE.

The Global Skywatch family have been discovering evidence of geoengineering on a future we will be releasing audio recordings painstakingly designed to protect your mind and body from government control.

May this second offering bring you peace from the madness of the modern world.

We are pleased to present you 4th chapter of Monsieur Blue saga. Mysterious, elegant and hypnotic more than ever.

PURISM closes 2017 with a first various artists release made for the dancefloor ! Here's some promising tracks from newcomers Jackie, Munir Nadir, Rafael Kasma and mag0... we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Hot on the heels of their recent EPs on Roam, Correspondant and Futureboogie, Zombies In Miami maintain the disco heat with their debut on Mike Simonetti's 2MR. Three tracks and one remix deep, the entire release is a full trip to the senses... 'Take It Off' leads by example: strident, uplifting and dynamically arranged so a whole new level of feels is unleashed when you least expect it, there's a real timeless energy and focus coded deep into every element. 'New Odisea' takes more of a cosmic approach with its slinking bassline and soaring, yearning chords that weave and wave above it. Buckle up, even the slightest variations and percussive additions are so well placed, they create an almighty rush every single time. Finally 'Where Is The Voice Of That Man On Acid' attempts to ask the question we've all been asking for years. Fittingly psychedelic, layered and circuitous, its springy riff persistently tickling under waves of evocative atmospheres and it comes complete with a sublime, sub-loaded rolling technoid trip-fest from Honey Soundsystem's Jackie House. The duo describe the EP as the result of hours of jamming, trying to imagine and recreate the loudest, most energetic and sweaty dancefloor tracks that we could play in Mexico, Europe and all over the world no matter the borders.' We'd describe that as mission accomplished.

Repress

All that jelly and no toast' - like when you find a bomb tune that's unavailable on 12'. The new sublabel of 'Smile for a while' is exactly about this. Clubby House Music by well-established producers as well as from lesser-known guys.

French guy Alex Agore opens the EP with the Lowtone remix of 'What Did I Do' - cut-up Garage House to the maxx.
Max Chapman from London / UK delivers another belter. A bassline-driven organ House tune with a minimalistic but very effective set-up. Oleg Poliakov aka SKAT is one of the guys behind 'Circus Company.' He comes up with a sublime but powerful Tech House tune, in the original sense of the genre name. 'Jazzve' is a tune by Russian producer Mutenoise. It's maybe the most original, innovative tune on this EP. Full of surprises and cutting-edge elements - hard to compare to anything else around these days.

Can't Explain EP is the 2nd instalment from Pomme Frite. Due for release at the beginning of June, the EP features 4 House Disco bombs from Alex Virgo, just in time for Summer!

Please allow us to present: That Something Else!.

The Tiefschwarz boys have just struck musical gold with their latest offering for Souvenir, a fresh EP delivered by the electro trailblazer named Bolz Bolz (Germany's Andreas Bolz) who's done more for underground music than you probably realize. 'Practice Paris' is a 4-track EP which dives into the murky, broken beat and techno tinted territory Mr. Bolz has honed to perfection - with each track tried and tested from the Souvenir Crew to stunning result. 'Dollars Pounds Euro' starts the release out in style with a brooding electro monster high in energy and mood. Gritty sampled vocals sit on top of crisp percussion whilst a truly evil, heavy bassline blankets the track in robotic soul. Detroit hero Kris Wadsworth (Breed / Ultramajic) twists the original version of 'Dollar Pound Euro' into an absolute monster of a track with a steady techno 4/4 punch underneath some of the heaviest clouds of intense synths we've ever heard. Saturated with creativity, this one is a true future classic in the making.
Title track, 'Practice Paris' is a funky little number of a track with an infectious groove and some twisted vocal samples to keep the human touch vibrant. This track shows Bolz Bolz celebrating classic funk music with a fresh combination of the new tech sounds moving the masses today. A perfect sonic combination.
Boston Native Soren Jahan (aka Line Cook) provides the remix of 'Practice Paris' with a loose fitting and low-slung house interpretation full of quirky samples and unexpected percussive programming. The remix captures the vibe of a live jam session to absolute quality result. Andreas Bolz is the co-founder of the infamous electro label Electrocord and has spent the past few decades helping shapeshift a unique twist of underground dance music hugely influenced by Techno, Krautrock, Electro, and Experimental sound. His latest offering for Souvenir is a result of over 70 releases and experience entertaining masses around the globe with his signature forward thinking electro and techno aesthetic.
