Smile for a while' has recently moved to Berlin and calls for Jana Falcon, a local, emerging House Music producer .
"Falling (Again Boy)" is an intricate fusion of Garage and House textures, it's a sultry, catchy tune with stunning spoken-word vocals and a bed of fuzzy beats that give it a really contemporary gloss.Things then go off in another direction with the brilliantly named, "Contemplation of Inadequacy". This one is crafted on another hypnotic tip, drawing the listener in with another bevy of atmospheric vocals and a bassline that's pure fire.
In "Petrias' House" Jana goes for a more upfront House sound. Simmering piano keys lend this one a sun-soaked flourish; precisely the tonic for the fast-approaching summer.

After his widely appreciated debut EP on S4AW Kolja remixed Cassius & Pharrell Williams on Ed Banger (yup!) and released some original stuff on Suol and Kakudo. Now he's back on board of the S4AW boat with a monster double EP - House for diggers, lovers and everyone else who's got Soul.

Remixes come courtesy of Philpot Honcho Soulphiction another one by well-respected French producer Bruno Hovart aka Patchworks.

Alltogether a Double EP bubbling over with excitement for Funk, Soul, Disco and Flutes (of course!). Tons of samples and complex drumming crafted the unique Kolja-kinda-way, with everything from deepest, jazzy Deep House Excursions over the typical Disco Slammers to funky excursions with Kolja on Rhodes Piano and Vocals himself...

At just 22 years old, Kolja Gerstenberg is not exactly the stereotypical producer of current times. His affinity to Funk, Soul, Disco & Jazz Rock brought him to study drums at a decent German university, even though the real glory days of Disco preceded his birth.

His passion for electronic music is part of a Gerstenberg family tradition. Breast-fed Rhythm & Grooves galore, Kolja's dad was touring with legendary Trance live act 'Afrotrance' during the early 1990s; releasing on R&S, Harthouse, etc. And guess what he was the percussionist, performing in legendary clubs like 'Dorian Gray' or OMEN in Frankfurt.

Now Kolja's ready to take over and let the drums roll. The Smile for a While guys came across him via soundcloud and instantly liked his unique style of House Music, combining complex drumming with oldschool samples and crazy arrangements.

One of both the label & Kolija's biggest hero's loved the tracks as well - namely Move D. Between his everlasting, world-wide tour routine he managed to squeeze in a bass line monster of a remix - the first he's done in two years!

Some more uncut diamonds by S4AW... Robert Nedelcu aka Lecsicu from rural Romania is only 26 but already a skillful and dedicated producer of oldschool-flavoured House Music with a tek-edge. On top we've got vocals by Berinika van Wyk a singer born in South Africa. Robert was inspired by guys like Rick Wade, Mr. G, Kerri Chandler, and of course Moodyman. His trademark are strong percussions, little harmonies every now and then and a 'tracky' atmo to his tunes that sound very Chicago-ish.
All three original tunes are pure, vintage-style House Music a little on the tech side. So this clearly is an EP for the dancefloor and for early morning sessions when the sun's coming up again...
'Route to 95' received a groundbreaking rework by Detroit House Music veteran Gari Romalis. With incredibly deep subbass sequencies he makes this tune a deep jam like you never heard one before.

After a short hiatus to Axe on Wax and his return to Tieffrequent records Monosoul is coming back to S4AW, too...

Monosoul's signature sound is still there and yet has changed a bit. More bouncing basslines, more deepness and more Synth textures...

On remix credits we've got Atlanta's very own Byron The Aquarius. 2016 was an exceptionally good year for him in the biz with releases on Wild Oats, Sound Signature,
etc. In 2017 he will totally go big with his unique, deep - no frills jazzy impro style. So we're more than happy with his own chord jams making up a top notch remix.

Sebastian Maschat a.k.a. Stoneage Kid has been around in the House Music scene for about 15 years now: Cult Stoner House with - Extra Produktionen', drummer in Erlend Oye's - Whitest Boy Alive' and numerous other projects.- Stoneage Kid' is an hardware / MPC based act, with own vocals and a very distinctive Electro Pop aesthetique. His first EP on - Smile for a while' creally sounds like Captain Comatose meeting Isolée in some purple haze panic room...You'll find melancholic Drum machine jams, some serious synths, lotsa vocoder and a lot of bassline-bumping. Halleluja! Kollektiv Turmstrasse is back on Connaisseur and let us tell you: the boys delivered big time.

But let’s start from the beginning: Holtoug is a gifted Danish producer whom we worked with a couple of years ago and who released some absolutely tasteful tunes with us. Shortly before having debuted on Connaisseur, he released the track "Noisy Night“ on the small Danish indie-label Fake Diamond. We have always loved this track and have known about its potential since back in the days, which is why we had agreed on a possible re-release a few years ago already and also released a more clubbish remix by Holtoug himself on one of our summer various artist releases.

We felt that this track is genuine remix material for Kollektiv Turmstrasse and we were not wrong with this assumption. The result: Two remixes, two directions, celebrating different scenarios and moods, both surprising and treating the wonderful vocals with full respect. Kollektiv Turmstrasse currently doesn’t release much, but whatever they touch turns into something magical. We couldn't be happier about this release.

Our latest release on what Came First has been produced by Italy's newest export, Knowhat, who has delivered two original works blended with shades of uplifting house and tech house rhythms.

The original track 'Feel it' is a high-spirited, house-infused creation with soulful vocals and punchy drums, showcasing the artist's ability to shy away from the driving tech house sound he's usually known for.

'Make My Body Groove' is a sultry, alluring piece with infectious, groove-tinged percussion. Suitable to captivate any dancefloor worth its salt from the beginning to end.

Frankfurt based producer Basti Grub is also featured on the EP, re-working the title track. Having touched it down with a minimal techno bass-line, Grub has artfully kept the male vocal hook rolling throughout the mix.

We're delighted to share this record from the Moscow-based recording artist OL aka Oleg Buyanov. His most recent work, the double LP "Height Difference" on the seminal Gost Zvuk label, saw him transmit his research in soviet sound heritage into a range of genres and tempos. On "Dismeteo", we see him inhabit a similar atmosphere, refracted through a different lens of influence. In Buyanov's own words, "The tracks are like concrete blocks & buildings lost in the woods. It's a point where correct geometry and mathematical constructions meet with organic forms.

Northern star Denney returns to Hot Creations with his West Coast Revival EP - a
full power nod to the early days of his career, inviting Liverpool’s latest export
Melé and Denver tech-house pioneer Hipp-e to provide the remixes.

Club Bad founder Melé makes his first appearance on the label with his remix.
Heavy on the percussion, he creates a tribal ambience with a deep and driving
bass that pushes it into peaktime party territory. With almost three decades in the
business, Hipp-e is widely regarded as being one of the pioneers of the West
Coast scene. He co-founded H-Foundation, which held a residency at fabric for
eight years. His version steers the track into darker territory, creating an insatiable
late-night aesthetic.

2018 was a huge year for James Denney, aka Denney. He produced a slew of
releases for top imprints including Saved Records, Relief, Knee Deep In Sound,
Moon Harbour and Pete Tong’s FFRR. His skills as a DJ have seen him tour
globally taking in Brazil, Argentina and Australia as well as Europe and North
America, where he held down a residency at Miami’s infamous Heart. He has also
been a regular figure in Ibiza at DC10 and Amnesia. In 2019, Denney’s pace
shows no sign of slipping with plenty of releases in the pipeline as well as plans to
launch a series of events in his hometown of Middlesborough and his own label.

Jasper Street Co. has cemented its reputation through the years as one of
America’s premier medium for quality soulful and gospel-based house music.
With the release of the “Rejoicing” double vinyl album on Nervous Records,
Jasper Street Co. is now going next level in presenting songs and productions
that will be peak hour/hands in the air timeless anthems.

Jasper Street Co. consists of vocalists Randy Roberts, Vonita White, Richard
Burton and super producers Teddy Douglas and DJ Spen. Teddy is one of the
founding and core members of The Basement Boys, a monumental production
team behind multiple hits including the 1991 gold single “Gypsy Woman (La Da
Dee, La Da Da)” – arguably one of the greatest house music productions of all
time. The Basement Boys earned maximum respect from the music industry and
fans worldwide as they always remained true to the roots of quality house, but
still were able to bring that house feeling to productions with pop artists like
Michael Jackson, Lenny Kravitz and Erykah Badu, while still making hits for core
dance artists like Ultra Naté and Martha Wash. DJ Spen also has a storied
connection with the Baltimore music world. From his days in the early 80s
making mix tapes for local Baltimore radio shows to his experience as a founding
member of a group called Numarx that originally recorded “Girl You Know Its
True,” which eventually was a number one worldwide hit for Milli Vanilli, to his
eventual work with The Basement Boys, Spen has solidified his position as a
major figure in the American house Music Industry.

This double album includes the Number 1 Traxsource Charting single “My Soul Is
A Witness,” a cover version of the seminal Ultra Naté house music anthem
“Rejoicing (I’ll Never Forget)” featuring vocals by Dawn Tallman, and the gospel
house stomper “Praying For You.” Other guest artists include Byron Stingily and
Norma Jean Wright on “Paradise,” musical contributions from Charles Dockins on
“Happy Song” and arrangements by Tommy Davis on “You’re My Latest, My
Greatest Inspiration.”

Dj Ralf’s Laterra is back with another great joint, this time involving the great and well revered Pastaboys collective (Rame, Uovo, Dino Angioletti), three gentlemen that shaped since the early 90’s some of the best moments house music ever had (check the facts). Still, their touch&vibe is fresh, contemporary, ultra-layered. The Juju & Jordash take on the track surprisingly defies gravity and adds some odd directions, while running through a steady, accurate and evocative dub attitude, while Ricky Cardelli (of Capofortuna and FunkRimini fame) gives a subtle&sexy afro-funky treatment. This is release is ready to grace dancefloors, now. Because love is grace. “Amore” is grace. “Amore” means Love.

Tallinn's Rando Arand joins up with LIITHELI to release four deep cuts entitled 'Alles' EP.

Rando Arand is an electronic music producer from Tallinn, Estonia with a background in sound design and experimentation. Arand released his first record on Asphalt Soliloquies back in 2017 and has since gone on to perform live at clubs and festivals around the Baltics sharing stages with likes of Dorian Concept, Gerry Read and King Midas Sound.

His 'Alles' EP sees him join Ali Asker's LIITHELI imprint who focus on supporting local artists from Estonia's capital following the likes of Mava & Nebukat, 1212a and the label boss himself, in addition to remixers from across the globe like Vakula and SH2000.

'Maandub' gets things rolling with dubbed-out aesthetics fusing hypnotic low end, meditative chords and eccentric synth stabs before 'Moondub' delivers soulful keys, deep riding bass grooves and fluid percussion.

'Joondub' maintains the breezy atmospherics as it delicately layers alleviating pads, organic pulsations and floaty modulations before 'Avardub' finishes things off with emotive melodies, fast-pitched, natural drums and melancholy tones throughout. Rando Arand 'Alles' EP drops on LIITHELI on 1st May 2019.

After S3A's 'Deep Love' contribution last year we are stoked to present you this great collection of music! Coming from the French underground S3A aka Max Fader is absolutely no stranger to the scene. With releases on Local Talk, Quartet Series and his own 'Sampling As An Art records' he is deeply rooted in House, Hip Hop, Disco, Soul and Funk serving residencies at Paris clubs 'Concrete' and 'REX' he has become a local favourite as well with his DJ and Live sets. We are more than excited to release this special debut album that showcases some older and recent work, with live acoustic songs from early 2017 recorded at the Paris 'Red Bull Music' studios to new sample based House and Disco infused tracks in the signature 'S3A' style we got to love so much in recent years. 'Fever", 'Friends, 'Joint No. 5 and 'Greed' are all funk fuelled jams composed by Max, re-played and recorded again in several live jams with fellow musicians Nicolas Taite, Raphael Vallade and Pierre Vadon and edited in the studio by S3A afterwards, they breath this special Soul and Funk love Max got into by listening to 'Masters at Work' and old Disco jams. The latter 'Greed' has a special story, it is a cover of an early 'Laurent Garnier' track that got reworked by 'Avril' in the early 00's, here Max wanted to present his own Jazz and Funk perspective on that same track. The club stompers 'First Day With Lucien", 'Lockwood", 'Clarence J. Boddicker' and 'Leaving 19th' are the true party business on this album and range from Deep House to more classic edit style Disco tracks with live improvisations played on top of them.

Label boss Michael McLardy joins forces with Newcastle based Moonlit Vision (What's Nxt/Tough Luck) to present 14 minutes of blissed out house on the A side of their collaborative 'Third Mind EP'. An ideal soundtrack to end the Summer months.

The B side sees the duo provide a remix of Michael's original track 'Pilot', delivered in their trademark sound. Released on vinyl only.

Third release for the Lyon based imprint, this time they invite german duo Das Carma. They also welcome Frag Maddin on remix duty.

Paul Jextra aka Caravan dives deep down the sinkhole to deliver the Riviera EP, the first release on brand new Sydney based imprint Planet Trip Records. The diverse four track EP explores everything from dubbed out slow burners, cosmic dance floor cuts, hypnotic zouk influenced melters and smoothed out lofi boogie jams, all seamlessly translating to dance floors, lounge chairs or seaside locales.

Backstreet Brit Funk Vol.1 is being reissued for the first time since it's original release in 2010 plus this will be the first ever release on vinyl for this highly regarded collection. A collection of rare and very sought-after underground British disco, funk and soul tracks avoiding the obvious hits that have been on a million cd's already. Many of these tracks never went beyond a very small local release but have since become very collectable - buying this lot would set you back somewhere in the four figures. Both Vol.1 (2010) and Vol.2 (2018) of the Brit Funk albums tell the story of the underground scene from the late 70's through to the mid-80's in the UK when punk and disco were giving way to a new blend of jazz, soul and funk, heavily influenced by the American big hitters of the day but re-worked by the UK pioneers for the British dance floors. Both volumes contain a unique selection of high quality music, which will have a shelf life lasting well beyond the currents trends and fads. All tracks have been Cedared and re-mastered to a very high standard and now sound better than ever before.

In many ways Spring seems to the perfect seasonal match for upsammy: no matter the tempo nor intensity, her style is colourful, restorative and carries a tangible promise of new beginnings. So Wild Chamber arrives at the right time, but it is an evergreen package - eight songs to slot into different situations, to speak to different moods, yet come from the same heart. A mini-LP that captures dawn mist, reflecting-pool shimmer, and occasional flashes of brilliant blue light. Swells of bass sag and yawn, time signatures switch up and break down, drums stutter and charge, and gossamer melodic trails are traced like ice skates atop a thawing lake. No Money In House kicks off with Ortella and Francois A's diva laden "She's On Fire," which is as soulful as it is tough. There are oldschool psychedelic classic deep jazzy house EP from NYC based legendary Mr Kerri Chandler. His remixes are superb as always. He wrapped attractive original chords and melodies - as well as some alien-sounding motifs of his own - around a shuffling, tech-tinged deep house groove. Throughout 14th Level Of Paradise Records' deeply-rooted classic house history and its ongoing transcendent surge into the future, there are certain special moments in underground house music history to acknowledge. This brings us to B-side on this release installments. It starts with a nice chilled guitar rift, then drops The Temptations vocal "Harmony is the key my sisters & Brothers", then the percussion kicks in driving a bit, more energy into the tracks, building into a really nice grooves. Pedro Zopelar and Benjamim Sallum started jamming and performing live sets in São Paulo in 2016, when Ben was only 15 years old. At that time they where doing freaky improvised live perfomances in tribute to a popular youtube video called “My Girlfriend Is Programming The Roland TR-909, Making a House Beat”. Using that huge name the duo performed live before Theo Parrish at the RBMA festival in São Paulo 2017, and was the first that the track GIDI was played. In 2018 “My Girlfriend” releases their first record dropped by Subsubtropics, (a Brazilian label that previously released “Dreams”, “Design a Wave”, “Seixlack & Zopelar” and more).

The Apron EP is a compilation of My Girlfriend’s tracks there are more influenced by a Brazilian approach on neo-soul, house and funk. From the first raw jams to these particular vision from “what is Brazilian music from nowadays”, the duo represents a fresh sample about what is happening into the club music scene there. Benjamim Sallum is resident at the famous party “Mamba Negra” headed by Cashu and Laura Diaz (Teto Preto, Carneosso), and since his 15yo developed a fast progress on the art of making tracks and DJing. He runs his own label “OXI”, where he often drops some crazy cassettes EPs from himself and his friends. Zopelar is multi instrumentist, DJ and producer based in SP, responsible for the keyboards, synths and basslines of the record. He studied piano on his youth and made music college in rio with 18 yo. Based in SP after his studies till now, he runs another well known party named “ODD”, where Funkineven played in 2017 (both Rio and Sao Paulo editions) and knew all that crew.

The opening track “piercing”brings pads and strings recorded and manipulated on a MPC sampler with some dreamy lead synths on top. GIDI is a tribute to all the church keyboard players in the world. And there is also another tribute to a specific music school from late 70’s in Brazil called club da esquina (“B2 Corner Club”), headed by legendary singer and composer “Milton nascimento”, is a typical sound from Minas Gerais, State where Pedro was born and raised till his 17 years old.
