K'Alexi Shelby & Robert Owens present 'Downtown', a track that's been getting the inner circle of the House music community quite excited over the past few years - some projects simply can't be rushed, and this labor of love is one of those very releases.

Often imitated but never replicated, Robert's instantly recognizable vocals have been tearing up dance floors since the late 80's, and here with his long time friend K' Alexi Shelby the pair have once again unleashed something special just in time for Record Store Day.

In spring of 2012 Niederflur will add their latest statement to contemporary electronic music with another classic
album format on Snork Enterprises called "Wellenreiter". Here you find a collection of nine tracks ranging from
deep to driving. The title of the record means surfer in literal translation but what is expressed is something
Niederflur have always been doing: riding their own wave and bending genre-sounds as far as possible. On this

LEBAL1204 is the second Double A Side release from Le Bal Records and comes with promising new tracks by young U.S. producer Detach and Swiss producer team Manuel Mind & Tom Mandolini.

Detach is the alter ego of young U.S. producer Christian Ehret from Miami who shows us his recently found love for classic house music from Chicago and Detroit in his debut release on Le Bal. Chopped and pitched vocals meet his flair for jazzy pads and fat drum patterns - the exquisitely effective ingredients that the two tracks, "Night Owl" and "How You Get So", are made of.

It's been for a while now that Zurich-based DJ/producers Manuel Mind and Tom Mandolini (Dimitri & Tom "Brazil over Zurich") joined forces. At last, Operida is their debut release on Le Bal Records. Its Original Version combines electro, house and 80s disco to a bouncy, hi-NRG groove, while the Booty Call Version, based on the same backing track, features Swiss rapper SKOR, who, using the dialect of his Zurich hometown, tells an explicit story on how to travel through the city's beds. Valentino Tomasi (of Kalabrese's Rumpelorchester) adds a spacy, polyrhythmic Remix with a vocoderish disco attitude and is also the producer of the last track, Booty Call, a downtempo & pitched vocal hip-hop version of SKOR's lyrics.

Politics Of Dancing Records celebrate their 3rd anniversary with two vinyl only releases and a digital compilation of unreleased tracks from a pretty impressive line up of confirmed and up and coming producers. This is the second vinyl only part to be released, with another 4 tracks of serious cutting edge underground house music. IO (mulen) , Chris Carrier, John Jastszebski and Tommy Vicari Jnr are on the line up and it's been highly supported by Raresh, D'julz, Apollonia and Djebali among others. iO (Mulen) opens up with a classy 8 Minutes floor killer with a fat rolling bass and funky stabs, Chris Carrier goes deep space for good with jazzy drums and killer effects. On the B side, John Jastszebski gives us a masterful deep dub techno lesson, and the prolific and versatile Tommy Vicari Jnr closes with style, on a smooth and elegant deep house cut. Qritikal Records mastermind Kosmetiq drops a jazz tinged, St Germain inspired three-tracker for the brand new PHONO001.

'I'm Coming Home' is a soulful house gem combining Heather Hoyle's sumptuous jazz flute with the gritty blues vocals and guitar of award-winning Papa George. Adding layers of synth lines behind a bumping deep house rhythm, Kosmetiq produces an emotive midtempo number with a touch of the Gregory Porter to it.

For 'Horizontal' Kosmetiq takes the pace down laying out a dusty, downtempo, Rhodes laden beat that provides the perfect basis for Donovan Blackwood's beautifully introspective recital of Heather's spoken word poetry. Heather turns her talents to the sax this time round, passionately performing a series of irresistible melodies that complement the hazy leanings of the track all too well.

Rounding off the EP, 'Lazy' keeps things laidback with a neo soul jam that was originally written by Heather but is made all the more expressive through Shea Soul's incredible voice and Heather's ever reliable jazz flute licks. Slick scratch segments, glistening keys and a full-bodied bassline make this an irresistible groover for any occasion.

Lay-Far returns to GAMM with three slices of jazzy disco numbers that got joyful dancing written all over them.He's carefully selected his fave disco, jazz-funk and fusion tracks from Herbie Mann (Etagui), FSB (Morning) and Mass Production (Cosmic Lust) that were just asking for that special Moscow edit touch.

Renato Cohen is one of those names that you can freely utter anywhere and it will get instant recognition, especially among seasoned Techno lovers who enjoyed his powerfully legendary tracks of yore. However, this is not the main reason why he is helming the fifth installment on Gop Tun's label. This has more to do with the relentless drive and irresistible swing that he can imprint onto any of his works, regardless of genre.
"Party Jam", as the name aptly suggests, packs the type of torque and wit that, wrapped in a bubbling bassline, delivers what it's simply expected from it: pure danceable energy.
A force intensified greatly on Whatever Whatever's reinterpretation, where these elements are enhanced by the experient ears and hands of Justin Strauss, a man whose knowledge and expertise on that kind of job is as vast as the Amazon jungle."Dynadisco" is another forthcoming statement for the dancefloor whose qualities rely heavily on its rhythmic dynamics, creating a gargantuan groove that will likely leave few survivors on any dancing space where it is unleashed.unleashed."

The Meant label really is on a fine run in 2015, and now offers up its 3rd release of the year. This one is a brilliant, club ready package from Rework and features excellent original material alongside carefully ClickBox remix.

Rework is a German collaborative project between Daniel Varga, Michael Kuebler and Sascha Hedgehog. As well as having ties to this label, they have released on Items & Things, Visionquest and Playhouse, and high profile fans include Seth Troxler. The creative trio has been doing this more than 15 years now, and as such is as good at making essential 12's as it is full length albums.

Opener 'Too Forward' is a freaky bit of slow motion electronic house. Vast kicks form the marching beat as trippy vocals repeat the title's refrain until it loses all form. Around it, sparking electronics and phased synth lines make for a fine cacophony that will undoubtedly freak out 'floors. The devilishly dark and alluring 'Overdosed' is a more up tempo track with shadowy post punk energy. No wave synths gurgle and tinny chords light up the centre as a disaffected vocal mutters about overdosing over the top.

It's another perfectly freaky track. Last offering 'Candy And Korg'
is a wiggling, synthetic house track cut from the Gemini mould.
It's bubbly, rich and subtly groovy and is the sort of thing you'd hear in a Craig Richards set.

Magda favourites ClickBox then remix this one into a sparse but elastic affair with dry hi hats the main hook of a perfectly reduced minimal track.Once again here Meant and Rework have cooked up a perfect dance floor storm.

Steppin up for the second HOER release is Frankfurter Tiago Walter, early member of the crew and shaping our sound since the beginning. Hello Yoshi EP contains 4 warm and subtle groovers, which combine his playful and melodic style with fast, straight forward house beats. Pull your pants up and get ready to play this one out loud.

As last year's limited box set has been out of print for a while, we decided to press up a 2xlp version with 12 essential tracks from the original release that total 60 minutes. If you have missed the box set this is a great chance to own some of Virgo Four's essential Chicago house music!

The tracks were selected from 100's of 4-track tapes that had been untouched and unreleased all these years due to local record business politics and disinterest. These demo recordings have been restored and mastered for release. Resurrection really shows the the rich, diverse and unique quality of Virgo Four, which leaves you wondering what impact they would have made on the (Chicago) house scene if they would have gotten released back in the day.

What a year 2014 was for us as a label. Starting with the release of my Lifer Concluded EP, featuring incredible producers Addison Groove, Fur Coat, Livio & Roby and Maetrik. Later in the year we went on to release one of the most explorable and rewarding projects we have been involved in as a label; Wolfgang Haffner 'The Remixes'. A 6 track EP with some of the biggest names in electronic music, Ricardo Villalobos, Nightmares On Wax, Acid Mondays, Max Loderbauer and myself. With the success of 'The Remixes' we knew we would have to release another strong EP to follow. Myself and Rockets & Ponies are proud to bring you our rst release of 2015: Acid Mondays, 'Chi Ka Pasa'.


Acid Mondays join us again for a vinyl and digital release, an EP packed full with their unique musical experimentation and daring productions which has seen them release on infamous labels such as 2020Vision, Circus and most recently in 2015 One Records with their 'Schlurptastic' EP. At R&P we think of ourselves as a platform for artists and producers to ask questions and push the boundaries of electronic music, Acid Mondays are the perfect example of this. Acid Mondays original track 'Chi Ka Pasa' as well as their '5D Mix' & 'Dub Mix' of the original track shows their impeccable production control. Rolling bongos are set against loose shimmers and rattles which are sporadically interrupted by short sharp keys and haunting, whispering vocals that we hear throughout the EP. One thing I love about these tracks is they are so versatile, I can see them being played around the world at various venues by different artists and I am really looking forward to dropping them on the terrace at DC10 this summer.


Joining Acid Mondays on 'Chi Ka Pasa,' with two reworks, is the highly talented (and Toi Toi favourite), Ion Ludwig. With releases on Lick My Deck, Meandar Music and Trelik Ion has proved his ability time and time again. His two mix's of Acid Mondays original track 'Chi Ka Pasa' bring new meanings and a new story to the tracks. His 'Progmix II', which will only be released on vinyl, brings a more direct and percussive element to the track, whilst his digital 'Progmantra Mix' creates a hazy atmospheric essence. The addition of distant sirens and a grooving bubbling bassline allow our minds and bodies to move, whilst still controlled by vocals and mystery.


The balance of Acid Mondays and Ion Ludwig is one of delicate, intricate productions with exciting experimentation and musical evolution. The forward thinking aspects on this EP are in line with both my own and Rockets & Ponies style, ambition and creativity. Listen to it, see if we are wrong!

In our most private moments, we have often thought of Multi Culti as an educational enterprise: as you listen to our music and stare at our artwork, you are absorbing information in a way that might conceivably be defined as "learning."Our latest release brings this theoretically reasonable fantasy one step closer to fruition, as we welcome Hamburg-based musician and composer Andi Otto (Ph.D) to our roster of artists. A deep listening experience focused on repetition and timbre, Bow Wave was made using rare and unique instruments such as a special sensor bow for cello (and other string instruments) known as the "Fello," which Otto developed during his residencies at the STEIM research centre in Amsterdam. The album also features vocals from award-winning Indian playback singer, actor, and TV anchor M.D. Pallavi, a frequent Otto collaborator, recorded while the two were touring Japan.

Back in 1995 while living on the West Coast, at the peak of the Rave Experience, Dj Spun and Dhyan Moller recorded a bunch of live tracks, without any sequencer, all direct to cassettes.
Spun aka Jason Drummond, reached out last spring after rediscovering all the cassettes and asked us if we'd be interested in releasing some of the tunes.
Jason shipped us the cassettes and after a good transferring session, we decided we had to release all the tracks under a 3LP set. This stuff is fire. We still love DJ SPUN - and Dhyan Moller!

Next up for Les Yeux Orange is a collaboration between Earth Trax, also known for his productions as The Phantom & one half of Ptaki, and Newborn Jr. Individually or together, the polish winning duo is on hell of a hotstreak lately with some remarkable works for Rhythm Section, Echovolt or Phonica and connoisseur mixes for Thump or Stamp The Wax. They debut on LYO with a diverse selection of four dreamy, melodic and emotional tracks both suitable for the club or for a domestic listening.

Following Hammer's stand out release on Loft Records last year, 'Canna' gets the remix treatment by four killer producers.

First up, Lauer adds his trademark flavour to the already outstanding title track 'Canna', bending the mind with an acidic top line and classic Korg M1 bells.The A2 sees Supreems take the techno edge off 'Man Ray' replacing the drums with a more electro tinged style of rhythm, whilst echoing the synths into the back of the mix to let the drums take the foreground.

Flip it over and you get two reworkings of 'Manaka'. Firstly, Domenic Cappello switches the breaksy flow of the original for a more club ready kick to compliment those stabs, in turn elevating the breakdown to greater effect. In contrast, Lord Of The Isles dives deeper into the breaks feel of Hammer's original, adding glitchy samples and oddball synth lines to take this one an even more interplanetary tip.

Saturn FC and Intergalactic Kalahari Oysters have agreed to the loan of the player Interplanetary Criminal for the next EP on Kalahari Oyster Cult, pending the relevant mental health check-up. Intergalactic Kalahari Oysters reserves the right to purchase the player when comes the end of the world.'We're delighted we've been able to complete this transfer. Signing Interplanetary Criminal was our squad's biggest wish,' commented Kalahari Oyster Cult's label boss. Relative 017 features 4 unreleased house tracks by John Swing. A solid 4 tracker bringing back the classic swing touch that's been influential to the labels peculiar sound. This is the first of a series of Swings unreleased material. Limited press.

Relative 16th instalment sees label head John Swing back at the controls with a killer four track EP. The title track 'Get Rhythm' comes with Relative's signature gritty house sound in its Original Mix while the Arp Mix shakes peak time dance floors with hypnotic arpeggios and rumbling drums. The B side opens up with a relentless african congas ride boosting the rhythmic section with an energetic afro feel. The "Other Version" closes this meteoric EP with a deep, jackin' cut-throat groove.

Assorted Moods is a turning point in John Swing's artistic output straying from his signature house and techno sound, towards many of his other influences gathered in the years: from jazz to dub, funk to hip hop and of course, club music.
This 10 track LP serves the purpose of bringing to light all these influences and unifying them under one piece of work that's been conceived with no preconceptions: Assorted Moods could be considered as a first step towards an unconstrained approach to production which focuses on the journey, the soundscape and the effects, crossing-over between many genres and styles.
Opening with the meandering 'Talking Tones', the album brings to light and unifies all of these influences from start to finish, with each track executed live using analog gear exemplary of LiveJam's signature aesthetic. Productions like 'Touch' capture a jazzy essence, whilst the soothing chords of 'Healing Tones' ooze with soul. Others, like 'Groove Motion' and 'Freedom of Speech', are more suited to the dancefloor with infectious snare hits, deep stabs and low-slung grooves.
All in all, 'Assorted Moods' demonstrates John Swing's broad palette of musical styles and makes for another exciting chapter in LiveJam's exceptional output.

It was a matter of time until John Swing finally made his debut on Warm Sounds with three cuts in collaboration with the yet unknown David Soleil-Mon. Considering John Swing's previous material, this featuring defines a fresh approach to the composition. The signature raw grooves that have so far delivered stripped down, minimalistic house gems are now opening up to more meditative states of mind through a crafty combination of tones. Every element sounds organically in its place: A1 delivers the right energy for the conscious dancefloor while A2 steps forward towards a more futuristic groove aesthetic. On the B side, Searchin' pleasures us with a lo-fi 11 min journey crossing over from dub to jazz while still keeping the signature house sound. Definitely a turning point for John Swing, who's now uncovering a new side of his faceted output. Limited to 500 hand numbered copies.

Nebraska pays tribute to the records that inspired him in the early 90s. Original samples from various songs by his favourite hip hop production crew are re-presented in fresh combinations and at new tempos. Crisp and crunchy.

To finish off the year as strong as they started, Hector called upon one of London's finest selectors Seb Zito to host the fourth release of 2016, with his four-track 'My Sound' EP
Seb Zito is best known for his efforts as a core member of one of London's most treasured event series, Fuse London, where he also acts as the label offshoots main A&R.
2016 stepped right up for Seb and saw him make an impact on Kerri Chandler's Kaoz Theory, where he recently put his stamp on two of the labels releases.One for the man himself on 'Turn Off The Lights (Who's afraid of the Dark) , and the other for Jamie Jones's debut effort on Kaoz Theroy on 'Old Skool Acid'.
For his contribution to VL Recordings Seb Zito has created five tracks that that ring true to the trademark sound of his London roots, dating back to the days he cut his teeth on the early garage rave scene in the capital.
'My Sound' does exactly what is says in the title and brings that punchy taste of London swagger to VL Recordings.
