The enchanting and notorious Satori unveils Imani's Dress, the first snippet of his forthcoming album due for release this Spring on the illustrious Crosstown Rebels, with Matthew Dear and Ewan Pearson providing hefty remixes.
Satori is no ordinary producer and live artist. Born to a Serbian father and South African mother, the man behind the instrument is a meditative music-lover on a deeply spiritual journey. Creating melodies on the piano, kora, kalimba, and guitar, his live shows are mind-altering.
Imani's Dress was the spark for the creation of Satori's debut album after Damian Lazarus heard it and requested to hear more from the visionary artist. Hungry and eager, Satori locked himself in a secluded studio and finished the album, and soon after it was signed to it's spiritual home, Crosstown Rebels.
DJ and production heavyweight Matthew Dear's remix is a skillful demon that illustrates why he is a pivotal artist in the electronic music arena. Ewan Pearson's remix is an ode to the guitar. Creating music for over two decades, here his warm riffs are infused with soothing synths and a meticulous groove.

Let's kickstart the new year with a sublime debut EP from our Norwegian brother Rub800 aka Ruben! It's simply impossible not to groove along to his analogue house jams. Watch out for this unpolished diamond from the SHY compound!

GIANT RECORDS 10th release is from New York born ADAM COLLINS and limited to 150 hand stamped and numbered copies. Adam is widely known for his work as one half of production duo - OMNI AM, along with Marky star and counts Derrick Carter and Evil Eddie Richards and a whole host of others, amongst their fans. Adam's release for Giant is titled - DAY2DAY and has all the trademark's of Adam's wonky, left of field, slightly off kilter grooves - DAY2DAY builds and snakes itself into a bottom bass heavy House jam - Chicago style keys mould the snare and hats into an infectious work out - with an alien like hook that keeps it all slightly wobbly. The next cut is from the super talented CARL FINLOW under carl's RANDOM FACTOR guise, a beauty in its own right ! Super tight drums and a punchy RANDOM FACTOR bassline take's this mix on a journey through many shades of electronica - as the track swells nicely with warm atmospheric pads and sprinkles of emotive keys, with an electro style hook that keep's it all swinging in Carl's trademark sound. The next mix is from LA based producer MIEKA DU FRANX. Mieka's mix strips the original down to the bare essentials and gives it a tuff minimal feel. The last mix is from ECHO OF GLORY, which see's Echo take the track on a Acid tinged work out - adding dubbed out vocals and super subbed out bass.

Deep Space Orchestra is Chris Barker and Simon Murray, a pair of mature music lovers who have been DJing and making music for years. When together they conjure up emotive soundscapes full of lithe and rubbery bass, rich synth patterns and authentic real world textures. They have done so on their own labels Jack & Wang and Use of Weapons, as well as on Delusions of Grandeur, Foto Recordings, Quintessentials and Scenery. Never repeating the same trick twice, they conjure up original moods and grooves that don't rely on trends of the day nor obvious sample pack sounds.

Given their considered outlook, it is no wonder Memory is not just a collection of tracks. Instead it is a complete piece of work that has been cooked up over the last three years and has largely been born from a collection of gear they bought with a view to starting to play live. As such it finds them experiment with all manner of new sounds and techniques, and the results are triumphant indeed.

Things kick off with 'Feel No Pain,' a melodically dense and frazzled cut with a crisp boom bap drive that carries us to outer space. From there, the pair lay out intergalactic house sounds littered with spoken word snippets and perfectly poised synth patterns as per 'Selassie' and the suggestively electro tinged cut 'Let's Save.'

Even when the tempo picks up and things grow more physical such as on 'Voodoo Wingman', real musicality and proper arrangements still remain. More introverted, bass led tracks like 'Dream States' do a fine job of connecting with our inner, visceral lust for rhythm and brain soothing, car driving sound tracks come stoned synthscapes like 'Mission Hills' and colourful closer 'Starman' are genuinely emotional affairs that truly resonate.

After a long break Brüxsel Jardin returns with its 3rd record coming from well-known DkA & Jon Mosto, backed with a Locked Groove remix.

Ranging from up-tempo to Balearic beat, these remixes are sure to hit the mood. Pete Herbert brings an 80's dance floor flavor with massive stabs to perk up any situation. A Vision Of Panorama mix is a beautiful mellow, sexy anthemic tune, perfect for the sun beaming down on the islands of your mind. Greeen Linez has the ultra lounge, 90's jazz groove covered here perfectly.

Following up from that brilliant Tom Dicicco from last year, the notorious GCZ is back on his own label. This time he switches the arpeggiators to 'BODY' and it's all go... for a while. Two more tool type versions on the flip..for the DJs. Big Tip from one of our favs!

Husband and Wife duo Ed aka DJ Jus-Ed and Jenifa Mayanja bring forth their 5th vinyl release. Taken from there CD album EDJ-005 They took 2 years to get the feed back from there fans and club dance floors around the world. To decide the final 4 cuts for you. There is one sentimental track called Rainbow which includes vocals from the whole family.

Imperative is a groovy house track with delayed vocal stabs & a sampled female vocal running though with added with 808 clicks, chords & a snapping snare.
The System2 remix of Imperative is just as cool with a rolling breaky drum loop giving it a 90s house feel, again the vocal leads the track with the groovy bass & chords built around it.
First up on the B side Once Again is a cool groove with sampled vocals & electronic bleeps echoing through the mix.
Last but not least the Juliche Hernandez remix of Once Again has a more 90s feel to it. Fast paced with great percussive hits & a chunky bassline to lead, all in all great release aimed firmly at the dancefloor.

Matt Edwards' Pyramids of Mars label is ready to unleash a fifth release, this time featuring three subtle but high impact slo-disco tracks from the boss himself under his Rekid moniker.
By now Edwards is rightly acclaimed for many different things: the stewardship of his tastemaking labels, his own elongated club cuts for the likes Classic & Rekids and his more experimental collaborations, not to mention his critically acclaimed LP on the legendary Soul Jazz label. Here he showcases his fun and functional side with a trio of tantalising tracks aimed squarely at the rump.
The title cut opens things up in playful, mid tempo fashion. It has heavyweight, fat bottomed drums trudging below, booty shaking hits in the middle and a subtly funky guitar riff rolling over and over up top: all the necessary parts to tease dance floors into raptures, then.
The brilliant 'Mars' is even slower, and has a mischievous feel to the low slung bass, the filtered vocal cries and jazzy hats. It's a cut that is full of Detroit beatdown vibes and will surely percolate through any crowd and leave them desperate for more.
Sublime last cut 'Wave' is a mechanical, grinding groove that slowly sweeps you up with its raw hits, slapping drums and cacophony of distant vocals. It's a fine bit of work that will liven up any DJ set.
Each of the three excellent cuts here provides more than amble weaponry for disco loving, crowd baiting DJs everywhere.

The first track on the A side see's Agaric remix maintain the integrity of the original while bringing a deep hypnotic feel to this house classic.......
The second track on the A side see's the Company Is Family remix strip back this dub-techno thumper. The finished result certainly being dark enough for a Sunday evening in Berghain.....
Rounding up the release on the B side the original cut of Qandisa is a deep electronic groove with a thumping techno bassline, interweaving huge chords and pads to deliver a textbook main room heavyweight cut...........

Mind fair's Rogue Cat Sounds imprint returns with a burning EP full of goodness! First off is hotly tipped Location 141 with 2 jams full of weight & energising rhythms to set the dancefloor a light. On the flip Rogue chiefs Mind Fair bring the heat down a notch with a Balearic soundtrack filled with lush piano & string arrangements and mesmerising melodies. They finish off with a cut that sounds like some unreleased Manuel Gottsching production this is special - don't sleep on this baby!

Red Rack'ems cult radio show inspired Smugglers Inn series returns and this time it's under the Bergerac label umbrella.
Volume 3 brings more secret weapons to the table and features an all star cast of space funkateers. The first side is devoted strictly to the UK Midlands and starts with the urgent Mental By Rights by Nottingham outsider Cyclonix which shows the often introspective producers dark and urban side. Staggered and cut up rhythms collide in a future techno cut which piqued the interest of dubstep pioneer Pinch, who cut a dubplate of it to feature in his sets. Super underground Leicester artist Jimi Oh has a stockpile of hot unreleased music so I am very glad to get Red Cow finally onto vinyl many years after it's inception.
Funky, melodic, thoughtful and supremely danceable, it's a glorious journey through the mind of a true auteur.
Open House a stunning big room positive banger from Nubian Mindz, rolling drums and uplifting synths combine with a little injection of hardcore in there too. Definitely the most Big room' track on the EP but still with enough soul to warm the sourest of hearts. Tommy Rawson follows up his recent releases on Local Talk and In Beat-ween with Piano Pleasure a beautifully sculpted late night soulful tropical house workout.
The title says it's all as it's a purely pleasurable experience with shades of vintage Osunlade in there for the eagle eared listener.

Following Dusky's ubiquitous 'Cold Heart' EP 17 Steps presents Kiwi's 'Marmora's Theme' EP - the London producer's debut on the label.
Having recently released on tastemaker labels such as Futureboogie, Correspondent and Optimo Music, Kiwi's distinctive sound is a physical mix of Italo disco, techno and electro influences.
Carried by a pulsating Italo bassline, lead track 'Marmora's Theme' is a cosmic epic that rides crisp piano melodies and sci-fi synths - and is already garnering support from Gerd Janson, DJ Tennis and Annie Mac.
Transporting the original's piano euphoria into darker, rave referencing territory, the Tuff City Kids remix calls on growling reese bass and '92 hardcore style pianos.
Offering some alternative vibes are the deeper, dirgy warehouse grind of 'OTH' and the beautiful, reflective electronica of 'Reservoir'.

Next up on Crosstown Rebels is the hauntingly beautiful release 'Sabor' from the Tel-Aviv based duo Red Axes, with Brazilian-born Abrao on vocals, and featuring a brilliant Isolée remix to boot!

Title track 'Sabor' is an emotive and intricate composition. Spoken in his foreign tongue, there is a soothing and enchanting element to the vocals of Abrao. The variety of instruments and effects could easily have resulted in something disjointed, but all elements flawlessly come together. The instrumental version is complemented by a remix from highly respected Isolée, enhancing its depth and delivering an astute and well-crafted rework that he is famed for.

Red Axes is made up of Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi. Starting off in the band Red Cotton they have spent time living in Amsterdam and touring the world, and are now once again based in Tel Aviv. They have released on Correspondant, Klasse Recordings, Hivern Discs and their debut album 'Ballad Of The Ice' was released in 2014 on I'm A Cliché. This year saw them start their very own label Garzen Records. Born in Sao Paulo, Abrao has been creating and producing music for thirty years and can now be found performing live with the Red Axes.



Isolée is German-born Rajko Müller and has been creating music for over twenty years. He has released on labels including: Playhouse, Freundinnen, Diynamic Music and most recently Pampa Records. Resident Advisor ranked his 2005 album 'We Are Monster' #53 in their Top 100 Albums of the '00s.

Admin is someone we've had on our radar for a couple years now. His gifts of versatility and precise execution have paved the way for tunes that have remained in constant rotation for us over the years. We're over the moon to finally be able to press up a piece of wax with him & where else better than Kolour LTD 10's

Mid October will see Lyon based imprint Art Feast Records release Rocco's 'L.Gee's Stories' EP, featuring four original cuts from the French producer.

Rocco has been DJing and releasing his breed o soul infused house over the past two decades, initially cutting his teeth alongside the likes of DJ Deep and Laurent Garnier in the early French scene before being picked up by Ben Watt for Buzzin' Fly, subsequently being remixed by A^me for the label and releasing further material on Freerange, Real Tone and many other household names in the underground scene. Here we see Rocco joining the roster of Art Feast Records, home to music from the likes of Anaxander, Ortella, and Terrence Parker.

Up first on the record is the 'Main Mix' of title track 'L.Gee's Stories' setting the tone with spoken word vocals, classic house rhythms and airy synth work before the 'Piano Mix' delves into rave territories, focusing on swinging drums, heady piano melodies and acid tinged bass.

'It's Like That' kicks off the latter on the B side and tips the focus over to a darker aesthetic with murky low-pitched vocal flutters, dubby stab hits and choppy bass stabs before 'Ve´nus ou Mars' closes out the package with cut up disco samples, organic rhythms and pulsating subs.

Jexy is getting all up close and personal on his new Hi-Fi house release. Featuring the Canadian and singer pal Isha D on vocals, "Human Emotion" is a love song that doubles as a call to disconnect and find real love. Netflix and chill How about just chill! Meanwhile, the lounge vibe is strengthened on the sophisticated "Botanico," while on "Fifth Wind," Jexy channels some trip-jazz with a slow breaks drum pattern. The EP is rounded out by "Infinity Room," a melodic groover that should please fans of Jex's earlier work. Recommended!!

Flash Forward is happy to repress one of Kerri Chandler's most beautiful records.First come first served !
"Black Vinyl label boss Alan Russell first met Kerri when Alan was writing for ECHOES magazine and Kerri was signed (by A&R man Johnnie Walker) to Champion Records in the UK. Alan was interviewing Dee Dee Brave at a hotel in West London as part of the promotion for her album on Champion which was released in 1991. Alan was already familiar with Kerri's work such as 'Superlover' and 'Set If Off' and with his productions on Movin Records, so asked about Kerri and when told that he was also in London as part of the Dee Dee's tour, the two met and began talking. Kerri was slightly surprised that Alan knew all of his early releases and the two bonded. They met again in New York when Alan was attending the NMS (precursor to the WMC in Miami) and stayed in touch. Years later when Alan had started Black Vinyl the two met again and Alan asked if Kerri would do something for his label. Kerri soon delivered a DAT containing these three tracks. The track 'My Old Friend' was originally titled 'For My Old Friend Alan', which Alan shortened so it would look better on the label! The rest, as they say, is history

We are extremely happy to have Malouane, co-founder of In Any Case Records on board with us at Lagaffe Tales. This fourth vinyl release consists of what could be reckoned as a mini-LP that travels through Malouane's personal space of influences.
The release is filled with rich and soulful samples accompanied by warm saturated drum work with an ethnic feel from start to end.

'Danse Club Records' is a the UK-based house & techno label conceived by the brothers who form Brodanse.
Danse Club is dedicated to both releasing solid grooving, big, bad, upfront dance-floor records and re-releasing, remastering, and remixing big floor-filling house tracks from the 90's as part of their Gold Series. They had 5 releases scheduled for release under the Gold Series in 2012/2013 with limited re-runs of some truly incredible club tracks from the 90's; the tracks have been remastered, re worked, and remixed.

*The first remixers on this EP are Willie Graff & Tuccillo, they are emerging into the scene quickly and known well for their track 'Set Me Free' on Freerange with more releases on Liebe Detail and more recently Sascha Dive's label, Deepvibes. The duo serve up a solid driving tech house remix that is sure to move any dancefloor.
*The second remixer on this EP is Florian Kruse, one half of Kruse & Nuernberg who's debut album came out earlier this month.
Florian makes a very special deep melodic yet solid club style remix. The final remixer on this EP is out of Chicago, Max Jacobson.

Max has released on labels such as Fresh Meat, Akbal and Recovery Tech. He also delivers a deep, stripped back remix of the original which compliments and finishes off the release nicely.

After beginning as a Sydney club night in 2012, Pelvis is readying it's first release of original music on the new Pelvis Records imprint. Entitled Dance Freak Anthem, it's a 4 track 12' with an original from the crew at it's core. Reworks from label heads DJ Haus (Unknown to the Unknown, UK) and DJ Nozaki (10 Inches of pleasure, Japan) sit alongside the Pelvis original and another fresh take on the track from Australia's very own Mall Grab.
Other releases from Pelvis include a Dance Freak mixtape, split with NYC's Venus X (GHE20G0TH1K) and released on limited edition cassette.

* A brand new release by Preslav featuring the incredible voice of Pittsburgh talent Natalie Rogers. The release also features electric piano by the virtuoso Kenny Peagler. Flottant releases cuts right through the misconception that floating and dancing fall at two opposite ends of the same spectrum.
From A1, a minimal house cut full of an energetic tension that inevitably resolves into a sentiment of hopeful nostalgia; to a B side which floats far nearer its pulse, with B1 offering a clear feeling of resolution whilst still immersed in spacey elements that groove in a timeless rhythm, and B2 being punctuated by a more techno-driven groove that still flows amidst the floating atmosphere of the entire record, finding closure in a place of unapologetic happiness.

Yotam Avni's debut on Innercisions thrills by sending out a synthesis of raw percussive sounds and soulful Moroccan vocals, proving once more his position in todays's house scene.

San Francisco-based Butane makes his debut on Jamie Jones' Hottrax with three hypnotizing productions this October.
Founder of Alphahouse and Little Helpers, Andrew Rasse aka Butane has been building a solid reputation as a respectable DJ, producer and label owner for over a decade now. When not releasing his low-slung dancefloor focused cuts on his own imprints the multifaceted American has made appearances on SCI+TEC, Crosstown Rebels and Moan. He now appears on Hottrax joining a roster spanning wAFF, Patrick Topping, Mat.Joe, Bunte Bummler, Raumakustik, DMS12 and Jamie himself.
A gentle thud initiates 'Addicted', making way for a throbbing synth that warps and distorts throughout the mix whilst a fuzzy bassline operates beneath it. 'Lock and Key' focuses on intricate percussion whilst dusky atmospherics and a medley of nuances are introduced throughout before 'Shark Attack' concludes the package with a rumbling low-end and compelling groove.

Banoffee Pies Records continue their musical exploration with their latest sub label output OTAKU . As the title suggests, Otaku provides the Banoffee crew the opportunity to focus on another area of expression. 'Music For Home' will be the focus and tagline for this imprint which will showcase a range of expertly composed live drum elements while travelling through the spectrum of leftfield electronic music .
