Secretsundaze are proud to announce the second 12' in the Dance 2017 series. The EP is once again a 3 tracker this time featuring the highly-promising emerging talents of DJ Slyngshot, Bastien Carrara and Jayson Wynters. DJ Slyngshot hailing from Offenbach near Frankfurt has had tongues wagging with three hot 12s on his own imprint Yappin Records and received club and radio play by the likes of Omar S, Floating Points, Ben UFO and Jon Rust. His contribution to the A side of Dance 2017 Part 2 sees him on fine form with the devastating rhythm of 'Hygh-Tech'. Kicking off with a rough and ready groove the hook is a gnarly nagging synth line that will worm its way into your brain. Add a sampled wailing diva and some more jazzy interludes and you have a festival-ready high grade bomb on your hands! On the flip steps up France's Bastien Carrara. His dusty jams on the likes of Rawthenticity and Funkineven's Apron imprint caught our attention and we roped him in for a track. Here he presents the charming, breezy and breaky 'That Time Again'. Warm, atmospheric and groovy this is definitely one for long summer nights ahead. Last up Jayson Wynters represents the UK! Jayson made his debut on none other than Mr G's Phoenix G. imprint with the sub-aquatic 'Unfamiliar Territories' EP. He is an amazing DJ and selector able to play house / techno sets and also jazz, boogie, disco and funk sets where required at the likes of Brilliant Corners. 'Chi Kung' is a bubbling, mystical percussive number with hand played drums and a perfect closer to the EP.

When LA label Acid Test decided to start the leftfield imprint, Avenue 66, they looked to New Jersey house mystic Joey Anderson for an opening salvo. He delivered the modern psych-dance masterpiece Above The Cherry Moon.' Now Anderson's back again with more of his beguiling dreamlogic. On If One Cares, They Act Different' Anderson works with a lead that could score an unsettling '80s horror flick, eventually introducing his signature quicksilver synths and abstract, jacking drum patterns. Peace There' starts with the square-wave basslines and raspy hats Taking us to a psychedelic far away place. On The Vase", Anderson reins things in, but even his bittersweet, relatively straight-head deep house tracks present an odd paradox. His music so alien and human all at once.

The superb 'Forbidden Planet' is a shiny early electro cut with a great funk bass line, a real instrumental groove and fantastic melodies that shimmer like a hot sun. It's filled with joy and sounds as fresh today as ever, the way it ducks and dives and offers real warmth.The Francisco Remix keeps the funk vibe but changes the groove to be a more Chicago house style cut. As such it has a rasping bassline, big drums and coarse percussion that make you want to jack.The masterful Ali Renault—a go-to disco and synth specialist who runs Cyber Dance Records, Human Shield Record Company and most recently his own Vivod imprint—then turns out a hypnotic version that is more driven and direct for the dance floor, with robotic bass and epic reflective synth lines. It's a cinematic track with great analogue textures that goes back to the future.The last original is the excellent 'Stay With Me', a cosmic love song with breezy trumpets and dreamy disco vibes as well as soulful vocals. Italo melodies and infectious percussion finish it off and make it an instant crowd pleaser.

SJ Tequilla folows up his excellent Freakout Cult release. This time on his own new started label Shot of T. Expect more subtle deep mellow house form the Japanese producer. This will only be the first record to come in a row of new productions.

The Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra is Far Out's in-house, Brazilian disco super group. It features the arrangements of Azymuth's late Maestro José Roberto Bertrami and the legendary Arthur Verocai amongst a host of other Brazilian musical icons. With a consistent stream of original modern disco sounds, the project has also played host to a series of remixes from some of dance music's greatest pioneers. FOMDO12 is the latest in this series, with fresh interpretations from Dego, Andres and Ben Hauke of the as yet unreleased 'Where Do We Go From Here'

Like 'Step Into My Life', which came out last year via two John Morales remixes, 'Where Do We Go From Here' is taken from the forthcoming second instalment of the Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra project. Check the first here:

A1 is Dego's 2000 Black remix. The broken beat innovator streamlines his sometimes more rugged sound, with the funk as priority. It's a sophisticated and irresistibly slick disco-house roller, reminiscent of his recent single for Neroli, 'Don't Stop (Let It Go)': with the same cross-genre appeal, a deep and deeply inviting groove, with Dego's signature swing.

A2 is a study in contrasts; Ben Hauke's take looks inward to find its feet, an intriguing riposte to Dego's open-arms welcome to the dancers. Organic rhythmic elements pile on top of each other, so loose and precariously balanced they seem to be perpetually on the verge of collapse. It's to Ben's credit that he pulls it off while showcasing a gifted ear for minor-key melody, with warm synths and piano notes taking his mix to another level. An essential slice of soulful, broken house, it effortlessly builds upon the tracks foundations, adding deeper, darker dimensions to the original's classy disco sound.

B1 is Andres' mix. It's got the touch of smooth Detroit class that we have come from to expect from him. Woozily silken keyboard chords work their way around an insistent bassline, the jazzy interplay perfectly offsetting the locked groove. The latter is a head-nodding house beat with a touch of boom-bap that belies Andres years of experience in the hip-hop world, most notably as Slum Village's resident DJ. Vibe-wise, it sits comfortably between Dego's sophisticated uptempo soul and Ben Hauke's downbeat late night groove. All three make for a stellar addition to The Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra remix roster, showcasing the many dimensions of their pioneering modern disco sound.

Next up is side B, this is the exchange part ya'll! From Chicago we have Dan Ryan and from Los Angeles we have Ricky Tinez. These two bring in a seriously raw and darker vibe to the release, let the tracks speak for themselves and enjoy!

Helmed by Back To Basics resident James Barnsley, it's safe to say Vessel Records know exactly what they're doing with their initial five releases including names such as Daze Maxim, Burnski, DJ Honesty, Laura Jones and Diego Krause. The label's excellent discography continues in their sixth release with Dan Curtin under his Purveyors of Fine Funk moniker - highly regarded for early releases on Peacefrog, Nepenta, and more recently Bass Culture.

Politics of Dancing, known separately as S.M.A.L.L & PACO, are the Parisian duo behind their fastrising eponymous label, whereas British talent Rhymos has quickly garnered a reputation for his compelling productions on the likes of Overall Music, Whistleblower Records and murmur. Joined by Barnsley himself, this four-track release demonstrates each artist in fine form.


Purveyors Of Fine Funk's 'Depth of Bass' is a raw sounding cut with ethereal atmospherics and moody chord sequences. James Barnsley is next with his deep and trippy number titled 'She not Fast' before Politics of Dancing merge intricate percussion with rumbling bass in their mesmerising 'Queens Road'. Tying things together, Rhymos gets rhythmic with 'Jazz Hand' featuring acid licks and echoing effects.

Jerome Derradji + Still Music are proud to present Let's Dance Records - Mike Macharello & Duane Thamm Jr. Chicago 1983-85. The origin of house music, at least in a commercial sense, is generally associated with young African American producers from Chicago's South Side, but one of the first Chicago house music labels was started by a young, white, gay DJ from the far west suburbs.
The Let's Dance story will take you back to the beginnings of Mike Macherello and Duane Thamm Jr. when Chicago's house music was in its infancy.
Back then, after starting as young roller disco Dj in the late seventies, Mike Macherello gradually made its way to the best radio station in 1981 - WBMX - and started a movement that still ripples through the city today. Let's Dance's founder, Mike Macharello, was a DJ who bridged diverse music scenes, from rock clubs to discos. The Let's Dance record label helped establish Chicago's dance music industry between 1983 and 1985, before becoming Play House Records (which will be reissued by Still Music in an upcoming set). Macharello's pal, DJ Duane Thamm Jr., also from the 'burbs, became the label's main producer and one of house music's most important studio engineers and producers. Mike and Duane went on to release a few legendary singles for Let's Dance that are still to this day considered to be the earliest House music records coming from Chicago.The 12' pack includes faithful reissues of Selenia's 'Single Girl', Duane Thamm Jr. 'Jump Trax', the insane Knight Action 'R-Trax/D-Rail' 12's along with a 5 tracks 12' compilation and an accompanying poster insert including rare pictures and artifacts with the story of the label.

The Copenhagen Duo Wilma (lower Case W) Aka. Jeppe Willumsen & Dan Madsen Formed In 2014 And Soon Got Off To A Hectic Start. Despite Their Varied Backgrounds The Two Quickly Bonded Around Their Common Love Of Early Dance Music. The Resulting Output Was Picked Up By Then Panorama Bar Resident Prosumer. He Used Their Tune Fabio On His Fabric 79 Mix Cd And Released A Four Track Ep With Wilma On His New, But Unfortunately Short Lived, Potion Imprint. Fast Forward A Few Years And The Duo Behind The Multiplex Reboot Have Just Gotten A Distribution Deal, When They Receive A Couple Of Tracks From Wilma - It Was Love At First Listen.

'Primitive Trust is the coming together of two experienced musical minds. In one corner is Will Saul of the influential Aus Music empire, and in the other is Tom Mangan, aka Tee Mango, the producer who started Millionhands record and clothing label. The pair met many moons ago and reconnected recently at a festival in Morocco. They bonded over music, lunch and shared family travails - and as they both now live in Somerset decided a little local studio collaboration seemed all but essential. Between them, these consumate country gentlemen have seen plenty a musical styles come and go, so decided their best route forward would be to make music to please themselves. To that end, they holed themselves up in Tee Mango's woodshed studio with the following ground rules: they would make music only with the gear they had (MPC 2000, Ableton, Roland 101, Juno, Fender Rhodes, various FX pedals) they would trust their instincts and go with first feelings they would embrace the joy of randomness if in doubt they would ask 'What would Carl do' With that, you have the simple but effective MO of Primitive Trust. These sessions have resulted in a series of three EPs to be released over the course of four months. Each EP will feature 2 or 3 original tracks and one fresh remix, with unique artwork and an illustration by all-around visual auteur Geoff Mcfetridge. Using the building blocks of house, and classic techno Primitive Trust can do zoned out and romantic, as much as driving and heady, but with an ease that comes from experience, years in the making. While tipping their proverbial hats to the past they also look to the future with their sound, mixing samples, wigged out synthwork and propulsive rhythms to create something honest and heartfelt that will stand the test of time'

Give a warm welcome to one of Munich's finest electronic music producer talents Lukas Bohlender who's delivering a stunner of a debut EP for Compost Black with his - Sublime EP' - backed up by a floor friendly Beanfield & Thomas Herb Remix this little beauty truly lives up to it's name! A couple of years ago - around 2009/2010 - when we hosted our Black Label Sessions parties at Munich club Harry Klein we've regularly spotted a guy on the dancefloor - dancing and grinning - well he always seemed to enjoy himself hanging out at our parties - this guy was Lukas Bohlender. It didn't take too long and a little chat has been held beside the DJ booth - exchanging thoughts about this and that and of course about the music or the DJ who was playing. So sooner or later the seed for our relation has been planted. When Lukas sent us his tune - Club Chateau' in the autumn of 2012 he primarily wanted to hear our opinion but we were simply blown away and signed the track for the Various Artists threetracker Black Label #94 which has been released in spring 2013. Lukas tune went into the boxes and playlists from Agoria to Tiesto (no joke!) and marked a first success. The year after we hooked up Lukas in order to remix Robinn's - The Game Is Now Over' feat. Nathaniel Pearn (aka Natural Self) on the vocals - and again he did a great job delivering a beautiful remix. So we were quite curious and excited when Lukas knocked on our door earlier this year and played us two tracks he just finished - - The Sublime' and - Curly Bun' - and he truly took our hearts by storm again.
The title track is based on a strong polyphonic bassline and being topped by heavenly keys and organs it builds and builds to epic dimensions in a sublime way - if we could, we'd open a new sub-genre called Gentlemen House for this one :-) - Curly Bun' with it's beatless intro and broken beat structure is starting out a bit more laidback but unfolding it's relentless slipstream bar by bar - backed by a strong bassline and topped by a dedicated synth progamming and two very nice piano gimmicks. To round things off we've asked our longtime Compost Records stalwarts Beanfield & Thomas Herb to contribute a remix for - The Sublime'. The duo who already teamed up previously to remix Emilie Nana's - Tolstoy Changes', stripped back the rich musical elements of the original to it's essence, add a rougher SP1200 twist in their beat programming and took a more repetitive / Detroit inspired route in their arrangement / mix to make it work their dancefloors - great job! Nuff said!!

New project and new label from the creators of the fantastic 808 Box, Fundamental Records.There are many details that make this project something really unique. These records will become classics if they are not already!. The music of every record is very special, also the artwork and the technic use to print each sleeve, but the concept behind this project something you need to understand, as you can read in the website everything is based in two factors: First, to provide the artist with complete anonymity in order to create in absolute freedom.Second, to offer the listener the work of the artist without any external distortions.The use of words to describe or define music is a senseless task. Most of the time the intention of descriptive text is not to shed light on the work of the artist, but rather to serve as a promotional tool to drive sales and increase recognition. This often has the unfortunate result of limiting the creator and his work. Music is all we need, any other additives are completely dispensable.This project is an experiment.Only six artists are part of this project.The identity of the artists involved in the project will remain private but they are free to reveal their identity after some time, even if we would prefer they didn't (that is the reason we provide a special code in the back of each record) The artists involved in the project are not aware of the identity of the other artists.During the following 12 months we will periodically release 12 records: 11 x 12 and the last one, a special 7.Each record is a full album, a trip into the mind of the artist. There is no need for 'perfected' tracks as this is not a collection of hits compiled on a 12' for massive sales. We asked each artist to work without any limitations or expectations that their previous 'sound' might impose. In this way the artist may expose ones true self in the music or choose to demonstrate another side of their creative self.

Next up on Belfast based Titanic City is Hermez an artist that first appared on Local Talks' sub label Telefonplan, a release that really turned our heads. At first we commissioned this unknown to remix duties of our first release, and now have handed him the conch for 002. To our delight we present this thundering release with influences from Detroit to Chicago, Belfast to Berlin. This one holds everything from 303s to experimental techno a must hear for where we plan on going and an insight into who came to rule. On remix duty is NICK ANTHONY (Mathematics recordings/Creme,Org/L.I.E.S) with his crunching 909 warehouse remake, which has myriad synth lines layered with real rough edge house beats.

There's a rough and raw DIY feel to this music that makes it jump out of the speakers and arrest your attention, as is always the case with Titanic City. Stand up pay attention.
