House Vinyl New Releases - News

Having made his family life a priority for the last three years, Picotto was nonetheless busy in the studio, adding to his beyond-extensive catalogue of releases and preparing us for a new salvo of pumping techno, jacking tech-house and quintessential club material.
From Heart To Techno, Picotto's ninth studio album features a number of collaborations with regular partners in crime Riccardo Ferri and Devid, who both throw in extra measures of Italian flair to the mix...
This the third sampler from the album kicks off with the lasersharp techno injunctions of Time To Wake Up. The B side sees the tribal workout of Born serve as a reminder that Mauro's roots are firmly planted in pre 00's sonorities. Rounding off the 12 inch is Atomic a heads down driving techno cut that builds & builds guaranteed to tear dance floor to pieces all over the world...
From Heart To Techno is an album by a man who has dedicated his life to a scene, who has spent an incredible number of years perfecting his trade and who knows where the roots of the sound lie. Often deep, sometimes heavy, always euphoric and groovy, Mauro Picotto's music works on many levels and transcends musical boundaries. With From Heart To Techno, Mauro Picotto shows us why he remains a charismatic pillar and an influential figure of dance music..

As the climate cools down in Australia, temperatures are rising in Europe and one of Italy's finest selectors has taken charge of People Must Jam's eighth record. Deja Vu is a EP that has been a long time in the making. The result, we hope you will agree has been worth the wait. The title track kicks the EP off with a killer funk groove that Riccio works into something we think Mark E would be happy with. tyson Jam is an original cut that channels some of his inner Moodymann vibes - heads down, lights down, fader up...For the B side we asked the incredible Payfone (who has been racking up a solid string of releases on Golf Channel) to remix Dyson Jam and he has created a perfect contrasting remix to the rest of the tracks of the EP.
A deep journey that takes the original into sub-dawn territory. 4am vibes! The final cut of the EP Mystical Stretcher, is a late night jazzy Funk number. Again a little Mahogani inspired...
Like most of our records this is cut on 180gm heavy duty 12" vinyl and is limited to 300 copies. We hope you like it.

Another of Louie Vega's pseudonyms, Sole Fusion's first release 'We Can Make It' was a straight disco cut-up with new vocals from Pierre Salandy. But with 'Bass Tone' the MAW man showed his versatility by branching out in a different direction. Its percussive minimalism and melancholic keyboards sound like a blueprint for Derrick Carter and Classic Records' (which started the year after this came out) style of deep house. An undiscovered classic.

Repress. Re-edits inspired by the legendary Chicago night club MEDUSAS done by JAMAL (HIEROGLYPHIC BEING) MOSS. A-side is a techno industrial re-edit of BIGOD 20's "THE BOG". On the flip, re-edits of PIL's "CHANT" and KISSING THE PINK.

Part Two, featuring Logic, Erick Morillo, Barbara Tucker, Logic and Black Magic. Heavy hitters!

'That's What Friends Are For' once again shows how much drama Adesse can build into a track. Think back to those twelves from the dons of dancefloor tension - Ron Trent, Carl Craig, DJ Duke and Murk - music built for a world where the lights never come back on.

Cesaria Evora's greatest hits remixed by some of the best house music DJs and producers, including Carl Craig, Pepe Bradock and 4 Hero.
Pressed on double coloured vinyl (4 colour splatter, in the style of the cover).

You know it's true, don't you" You know it's true, sometimes emotions can be darn unsettling and disturbing - as they flow deep down our consciousness uncovering fears, thoughts and feelings. Yes, if we're focused too much on our personal hedonistic euphorias, sometimes we lose that... It gets lost, You know it's true. You may know it's true.
Manfredi Romano aka Dj Tennis shapes this treasure, a release that is decisively out of the box, a small cathedral made of subtle shades and unusual EQ's, where ideas seduce and frighten.
That's Divisions', led by Danish singer and guitarist Jeppe Kjellberg. Who's words and voice are carefully crafted as a precious, poisoning weapon of concern and bewilderment, as it is Chirality' a deep, insistent, gelid voyage. Which distinctively in this round, We find ourselves not only with Tennis' masterful production skills but also the astounding addition of Sophie Trudeau's string work - she's been the driving force behind the string sections of legendary Canadian post-rockers Godspeed You Black Emperor, one of the most dark, cinematic and unsettling rock acts of the last decades - which really ads a poignant and visionary mood and emotions we rarely encounter and by that we can rarely breathe.
The original edits have been respectfully and creatively revisited by techno pioneer Roman Flügel, who masterfully rubs Divisions', turning it into a sensual, devious, laid down affaire. Lastly, closing the ride , the legendary English duo Plaid - true masters and innovators within the Intelligent Dance Music field- grace Chirality' with their very own touch made of alien sounds, mutant rhythm architectures, warm dynamics and heartbreaking melodic caresses that iconically represents their visions.

finally repressed!

After a long winter sleep, Be_Chosen wokes up and now we´re back with some new deep tunes, tunes to make you groove, to make you laugh and
feel happy, we hope you will enjoy!
Ion Ludwig is the artist behind the newest strike, we love It ,hope you too!

'Narcotic Romance' is a free-basing DiscoFunk Jam that sounds like it's been found in a time capsule on the shore of lake Garda, buried deep beneath the ruins of the Cosmic Club.
'Summer On Repeat' is a slipping and sliding slice of liquid techno that deftly balance playfulness and pathos, with a real emotional undercurrent belying it's punchy wonkiness.
'Sun S ign' combines the wonk and the disco from both of the preceding tracks, and slows them down to menacing effect, with a chugging discordance that is very Correspondant.

henrik schwarz children johannes brecht's strong vocal track freedom walks is upgraded by henrik schwarz.

Ocean Parkway, the new sublabel from Brooklyn's Names You Can Trust, continues into the deep with a future dance sureshot! Prince of Queens aka Felipe Quiroz normally lends his talented musicianship on keys and bass to the live ensembles of Combo Chimbita and MAKU Soundsystem, but behind the closed doors of his Bunker Studio a new sector of blissfully solo, machine-made electronic rhythms are steadily bubbling to the surface. Call it techno as imagined by a tropicalista, as the vintage analog tones of classic house are twisted by a kaleidoscope of influences both Caribbean and Chicagoan. From the wavy beachside vibes of the EP's opening number, to the deep, evolving arrangements of The Scene Over and The End Scene, on to the jazz-chord-fueled robotic timbale rhythms of Thank You Friends, and finally forward to the future-tropical polyrhythmic sequencing of Winter Islander, it's an impressive range of style and skills on display from this talented and up and coming producer.

2015 will prove a benchmark year for Scissor and Thread with the rising momentum of Frank & Tony and Desert Sound Colony and now with the introduction after many months of work of their new enigmatic artist, Rosas Nievas, with a sublime debut EP, Every Inch of You. Like a tip of the hat to Herbert, the title track entices with easy piano licks, a cooing vocal and a lush atmospheric enveloping the 'floor in a warm embrace. Flipping the switch, the bounce of "Opinions" propels dancers into hands-up, Chicago-style elation, while the rollicking, looping closer, "Hear Me Rain", entrances with its early morning psychedelia. Completing the package is a breakaway edit from label heads, Frank & Tony, who transform "Every Inch of You" into a sun-drenched, euphoric deep house stormer, in a way only they can do.

The first strike off comes from none other than Ukrainian phenom, Silat Beksi. The Jasm EP spans three encapsulating tracks that are perfect for opening, peak, and after hour sets alike.
Known for his unique break beat style and rolling bass lines, Silat Beksi released his debut EP back in 2013 and has quickly risen the ranks as one of the top producers and DJs from the Eastern Bloc. Already with releases on the likes of Mulen Records, Tzinah Records, and Body Parts to name a few, his newest release sees a wide spectrum of styles and sounds. The Jasm EP starts off with the title track, a smooth roller that infuses the break beat sound that Beksi is renowned for with some playful jazz elements - truly a perfect track for those early morning after hour parties.
Over on the B-side, Slap offers what is surely the peak-set cut of the release.A hard-driving dance floor weapon with a rip-roaring bass line, techy vocal chops, and poppy highs, Slap is a force to be reckoned with.Closing things out is Mellowness. Equipped with a lively arpeggiator, shuffling hats, and yet another rolling bass line, this one really keeps the party going. Reminiscent of a Tulum after-party, this track is made with a beachside sunny vibe in mind. Rising Parisian producer Yakine's career pretty much denes the word  "eclectic"—in his teens, he was a bona de metalhead, playing guitar in a metal band that toured all over Europe, before his love of hip hop steered him in the direction of the danceoor. He really found his home behind the decks, however, and once he discovered the world of electronicmusic via the patronage of his brother—who introduced him to the sounds of underground
deep house and techno—Yakine quickly moved into production. He's since released a series of EPs on European labels like Esperanza and Jetaime Records.

* Following two previous 12'' releases from various artists such as General Ludd, Prequel, HVL and Akwaaba, the latest release on Transfigured Time comes from label co-founder Bakradze aka Gacha. Before Time Altered Them includes 5 tracks from him and a space edit of Sea Of Step by HVL.

* The EP is inspired by the poem of the same name by Greek poet C.P. CavafyPhoto on the cover is by a talanted young Georgian photographer Andro Eradze.

The hardest working men in the D bounce back with a beach vibe built around a killer sample. Remixes are by Andres, Danny J Lewis & newcomer MRJ hitting it heavy with the late night vibes.

"Banzawa is zouk / Banzawa is house /Banzawa is dance / Banzawa is love

You and I Banzawa"

'Nyako' is our 7th vinyl release here at OtC and it's a big one. South African producer 'Behr' created 'Nyako' together with Makadem during a Santuri Safari session at Sondeka Festival in Kenya.

The E.P is 4 cuts that build in brilliance from the original which has extremely broad appeal. Indian producer 'Daisho' delivers a straight ahead 4 x 4 house groover, south-London production duo Modified Man swing their analogue machines into action for a heady synth adventure, which is just a bit broken. Berlin-based duo of Dirk Leyers and DJ Nomad (Hans Reuschl) are the ideal pairing to merge technology and tradition together as AFRICAINE808 bring up the rear with a balearic sensation to round off the EP.
Makadem is a talented musician and vibrant performing artist from Kenya. He's a figurehead of the Benga scene in Nairobi. His stage presence and powerful vocal delivery, had him likened to the legendary Fela Kuti. Makadem innovates by bringing traditional African instrumentation, story telling and contemporary production methods together.

DJ and producer born in Tunisia and now based in Borås, Sweden. He's released on a handful of labels including Wallshaker, Nice & Nasty, Quadrant, Soul People Music, Selekta and Division X. His last release on Minimalsoul entitled 'Echoes Of A Revolution' went on to get a great review in De:Bug Magazine and sparked his return to Minimalsoul. Mourad now delivers (5) astonishing mediterranean flavored tracks to Minimalsoul. All tracks have their own flavor and can stand on their own in a listening or dance environment. We'd like to point out the undeniable production alongside Aaron-Carl Ragland, better known simply as Aaron-Carl, who was the founder of the Detroit-based Wallshaker Music & W.A.R.M.T.H. International Inc.. Tacotac EP is fueled with a great sense of emotion and feeling and will be an outstanding gem to any record collection.

All Day I Dream invites a few new names to the labels summer sampler season.
Alongside a few familiar ones too like Lee Burridge and Lost Desert with their much anticipated 'Absent Without Thoughts'.
Gab Rhome and Superlounge keeping it groovy.
New music from new artists include Budakid, PHCK and Zone+, each one a unique flavor in dreamland.

Phonograph Music is back with a 4 tracker by Anthropous Anonymous. Four cuts that embody a poetic approach to dance music, trough deep house, balearic and tribal. A few months ago, in the time and space of a few impromptu sessions, an EP was conceived and produced. Not much was planned, but the voice and the keyboard notes our dear Brazilian friend Roberto Coelho hit, gave the whole thing its not so but quite ambiguous form and meaning. Soon after that, the music just flowed...

It took me a couple of years get invited to Christophe De Groot's (aka Circadian Rhythms) homebase, and a couple more years to dive into his Sonic Archive. But time tells and Basic Moves 02 is what came out. The two tracks were recorded at Earguard Studio in Brussels around 1996, at a moment when his interest was moving away from club music towards other golden musical horizons.
Frequency' is a macro tech-house track in mid tempo. I'm super happy I could archive it on wax because we almost fucked up the master DAT tape by blowing up the player during a marathon listening session at his place. We had to open the device, unroll the tape across his house (full of records) and fold it back into the mini DAT cassette. After a few hours and twenty metres of tape, the problem was solved and the tracks archived: 'A dose of authenticity at a time of post-counter-cultural stagnation'.

'House Speaker Call' originated in proto-techno forms. Christophe never sees techno as a type of music but as a process. As a producer, collector and deejay he always dives deep into authentic forms of electronic music. Deg's antic personality shines out in the middle of the harsh beat-driven electro/techno track like a hopeful melody passing by on its elliptic orbit.

Tune your cells into his vibrations and get ready for these two timeless club tracks.

Richy Ahmed's Four Thirty Two imprint continues to shine a light on the freshest talent emerging from the house music underground, and on the label's third release, the London based Senzala get to flex their muscle on a fine release, backed with a remix from Ahmed and Jansons AKA Lovehertz.

Having previously released on the French label Mr. KS & Friends, and Politics Of Dancing, the Senzala boys, otherwise known as Jonni Santos & Sam Holland, deliver the goods once more on the 'Phase' EP.

The title track packs rolling 909s and looping filtered disco riffs into its punch; never letting the energy levels drop. Vocal licks and techno-laced stabs drive this club-focused track fantastically, with a glossy production that really shines through. Richy Ahmed and Jansons come correct with a Loveherts remix; a heavyweight analogue bassline dominated the mix and the vocal parts slide down the arpeggiated riff as incessant synth stabs ramp up the heat, taking their remix right to fever pitch.

The Senzala boys grind out more solid house grooves on 'All For You', deploying disco samples and vocals that are filtered and twisted around the tough drums to great effect, whilst on 'Agora', the mood remains unfaltering as feel good riffs and warm keys wrap around Senzala's steady beat to complete a stellar release that's packed with energy and infectious vibes.

A new My Rules release from the always on-point Justin Van Der Volgen featuring two previously unreleased remixes that showcase his varied and unique style.
The A-side sees him take both the original and Spencer Parker remixes found on the the 2016 Shit Robot single Lose Control and through editing, blending and layering of FX concocts one serious bomb of a mega mix .
Think classic DJ bootleg remixes on legendary labels like Razormaid, Disconet and Hot Tracks.
The B-side is an altogether different affair where Justin dispenses with all of the original music and only keeps the vocal from Felix Dickinson's 2014 acid jam 'Burning Flame'.
What comes out the other end sounds like Lee Perry and Murk made a tune once they got back from a sleazy NY after hours.
Early plays and support from Gerd Janson, John Talabot, Tim Sweeney.

incl. Low Tape Remix

Swinging super tekhouse thin sound... Deep and fresh ! Big !

Fantastic remastered reissue of a masterpiece of the golden era of NYC Deep House, the incredible 'Love Is A Mystery' EP by Tropical Moon (aka legendary producers Nelson Paradise Roman & Blue Jean), their one and only release under that moniker. Originally released back in 1990 every track here is a killer - the A side features the underground smash 'Love Is A Mystery' with its beautiful emotive pianos, classic lush strings and gorgeous vocal followed by the relentless drum groove of 'It's Alright'. On the flip we get another club classic, the tribal bouncer 'Jungle House' as well as the darker after-party vibe of 'Data Bank' with its phat b-line, deep chords and superb sleazy vocal. Pure class!

What do you do when you are part-time bored, when you are part-time broke and - even better - when you claim to make and live dance music (of course, also part-time) Well you are obviously running a record label. This is what Johannes Albert does since 5 fun years and 20 releases. Releasing his own music on vinyl but also his mates stuff. From Achterbahn D'Amour to Smallpeople via Jeremiah, from Fred P and Lauer remixes back to french youngsters Ralph & Larry Houl. So Frank will celebrate this anniversary among life & happiness early 2016 with two twelche inches and a lousy tour. Starting with the lamest of all - Johannes himself - to be followed by a bulky rework by Oskar Offermann. Flipside ticks in with heartbreaker Phillip Lauer and his bottomless love for all things Lohret. Markus Mutzenbacher hailing from Würzburg in southern Germany - a djs dj - manages to drop his first track ever. after only 15 years of being a dj. this guy is an inspiration. Let's just be frank shall we

REPRESSED !!
Phonica welcomes another highly respected artist to its international label roster, with Poland's Earth Trax stepping up for a very special 12'.
Bartosz Kruczynski is a Warsaw based producer and DJ who has been recording and releasing records for a few years now. His output includes the ambient/minimalist album 'Baltic Beat' on Growing Bin under his own name, as well as numerous releases with Ptaki, another Polish duo focusing on sample-based music and linked with the Transatlantyk label. Bartosz first came to Phonica's attention via his fantastic releases as The Phantom, an alias he has been particularly prolific under, with at least 3 albums and a handful of 12's out to date.Earth Trax is Kruczynski's take on strictly club material, yet channeling the very same Baltic melancholy he uses in his other projects. Following on from his 12's on Rhythm Section and Dopeness Galore, his Phonica 12' begins with 'L'Avventura', a deep yet glittering house production with a piano led melody we couldn't get enough of, so we present two versions across the a-side. The main version is preceded by a fantastic dub version, shades of Kerri Chandler shine through on this one! On the flip his otherworldly interpretation of house and techno continues with 'Nokturn' and 'HG', both pad-rich, ethereal productions of the highest quality that perfectly compliment the a-side and round out the record in style.
