Nino delivers his first well-deserved solo EP on Batti Batti. Originally from Bosnia, but based in Brussels (Belgium), Nino's tracks have always been a perfect representation of a purely deep underground sound. Starting off with a soothing piece of ambience to set the mood , Odysseia EP is aimed for club use and hence depicts Nino's evolving style yet maintaining his secretive and atmospheric element as a common factor.

Saft welcomes 'Nortasun' to it's expanding roster of artists. With not too much info being available about the artist, the music should do the talking. 'Nortasun' comes up with a sample drenched EP that consists out of swell basslines, mind expanding chords and outlandish percussion works. ''Untitled 1'' opens up with a carefully placed disco sample that hovers over the rhythms very nicely. The percussion section and the ascending chords serve the overal ambiance while Nortasun plays with the extended loop pattern that maintains of interest. ''Untitled 2'' serves as a very deep but functional voyage into tribal territory. A vary of percussion sets in and smartly exchanges tones with FX cuts. On the B side ''Fudge Fingas'' debuts on SAFT with an atmospheric beast of a remix for ''Untitled 1'' that constantly grows and cleverly uses vocal cuts that change up the original atmosphere and makes the overall a very broad work of house music. The Stevie Wonder like clava hit + piano solo's that come in when the remix progresses are all in courtesy of the Edinburghian producer himself.
Following up from Renato P's 2015 "Untitled" debut, Jay Simon's Atlanta based Must Have Records is back with its most substantial release yet. Unsung west coast duo, the Teflon Dons released several 12"s on their independent label Worldship from 1995-2000, and virtually all have become sought after records by deep house afficionados. Here, Must Have lovingly presents a double 12" gatefold anthology featuring four highlights compiled from several rare Worldship releases, as well as another four unreleased songs from the same era. Notably, the release contains the nearly forgotten garage classic "Tomorrow People" the first release featuring a then unknown Gregory Porter, who went on to become a Grammy Award winning jazz vocalist. In addition, the release contains several photos, and detailed liner notes written by Jay regarding the group's history.

Following eight years running the EevoNext imprint with Stefan Robbers, Rosedale Records aims to showcase hand-picked producers sharing sides with remixes by techno's establishment and some of Estroe's new discovered talents via her own producer advice company. But there's no better way of getting down to business with a pound of no-nonsense, signalling of intent from the boss herself, a nice means of getting the ball rolling and to set future contributors on the Rosedale path.
First up, 'I See You', which has all the welcome of a sniper looking at you through a set of crosshairs. A glowering riff wades into alien frequencies and floating signals caught in Estroe's bass-mounted operation. For all it's worth as a piece of razor sharp techno, it still shows plenty of energetic, accessible bounce in its hydraulics, and ability to bring tension to arenas twice over where the pressure of the kick drum undercuts shadowy, ambiguous shades.
Re-serviced by Deadbeat, the Canadian Scott Monteith speckles his nickel-plated pistons with dirt, double-times the original's riff and drives home a metronomic, tech-energised raider of the dancefloor. Making the engine purr, clamping the joint down, and then adding fuel to the fire with an injection of acid, this is the sweet spot for those who measure track desirability by the amount of sweat they're swimming in by the end of it.
Dragged along by an 8-bit-themed wash of addictively Sheffield-born bass, 'I Wish' is set in the long tradition of dance music where airy, twinkling keys are pitched against what is a savage bottom end. Dreamy clubbing in many ways because of its trance veneer, it shies away from an ambient tag by making you think you can sail away, before you realise you're knee deep in beats that develop the bump of a cuddly monster. What's more, it epitomises the new label's ethos of supplying tracks that are 'moody and deep, but always with an energetic edge.'
Nadia Struiwigh is one of Estroe's regular partners on the platters, and her remix reiterates the package's demeanour of being granite-jawed and something to swerve in a dark alley. Despite being dominated by a kick drum leaving bruises on your ears, it fits the profile of the strong silent type in parallel to the gentle giant of the original, patiently lying in wait and unperturbed by a stretch of synth flicks looking to find a break in its defence. Struiwigh is resourceful with her power, offering wide open spaces so as to maximise its stark noise, and chiselling away into the night like a skilfully sharpened sledgehammer.

Release number 10 introduces us to the music of Nachtamt. This is his debut release and he is another one of Estroe's Music Advice Agency talents.
Nachtamt first met Estroe in 2013 as he was looking to get advice on producing music with Ableton Live. It meant that in their first session together Estroe had to 'endure' Nachtamt's extensive library of FastTracker productions, but after a few more sessions she would begin to hear the potential in Nachtamt's Ableton creations.
The sessions with Estroe would drive Nachtamt to create more and more music which eventually lead to Estroe
signing two of his exquisitely evocative tracks to Rosedale Records.
The idea behind Nachtamt's original mix of 'Enhanced Awareness' is to depict levels of awareness and how people perceive the world, and how things may not be what they seem at first glance. The track starts with a springy bassline while gentle aqueous percussion materializes gradually as if delicate raindrops are beginningto fall on the surface of a small stream. Like a floating leaf, one is carried along in the flow. High metallic synth sounds shimmer like moonlight through trees and dance delicately with the emerging carillon of chiming melodies as the whole semblance of the track transforms into something a little less gentle, but more gloriously lush.
MUUI's remix of 'Enhanced Awareness' explores Nachtamt's idea further and deeper. It opens with a mood of apprehensiveness. A continuous single note hangs uneasy in the mix as distant and reverb soaked bass synths lurk, brooding in the shadows like a menacing figure. Short, sharp melodies hide almost from view while the chattering percussion which occasionally surfaces is like a paranoid thought - or like nervous eyes watching...
The question is, who is hiding from who
The original mix of 'A Minority of One' contemplates a quote from George Orwell's '1984' in which the main character, Winston, considers whether or not he is mad for believing the truth even when no one else does.
'Perhaps a lunatic was simply a minority of one.' The staccato orchestral stabs and almost militaristic rhythm of the percussion is obedient, like the citizens of 'Oceania', they work away throughout the track while the introspective but defiant sounding lead captures the idea of a solitary mind beautifully. Estroe's remix of 'A Minority of One' starts off with sombre pads and atmospherics. The loneliness of the overlying melody and it's introspective nature portray the 'Minority of One' theme perfectly. Once again, as in the original, orchestral stabs announce themselves. Unsubmissive they stand out, on their own, reinforcing the original idea further. However there is a different feel to the remix in that the mood is more reflective and while quite melancholic, there are periodic moments of optimism, like Winston has slowly accepted the nature of his thoughts.

Here we see Italian brother duo Elia and Niro Perrone, release their debut long player in the shape of 'Pescaiola' the name of the suburbs the pair grew up and paying homage to their musical roots growing up together.
Across the duration of the 'Pescaiola' LP Easy To Remember serve up a amalgamation of raw and intriguing electronic, house and techno cuts. Opener 'Hanckora' lays down a lo-fi infused Hip Hop style to kick things off, while 'Checkma Dem' lies in similar territory with the addition of some vocal stylings as well.
For the most part though Easy To Remember lay the focus on emotive house music, title track 'Pescaiola' plays on multi-layered melodies and retro synths, 'Hijack Percussion' focuses on gritty rhythm and soft atmospherics and 'Try To Escape' brings to light ethereal synth leads and snaking bass grooves. The duo instil some funk influence into the LP as well via 'Feelings' and some experimental touches as well with their Giulio Etiope collaboration 'Degolas' amongst others. All in all Easy To Remember deliver a refreshing take on modern electronica across the project and further prove Unclear is a force to be reckoned with in the underground.

The second serving from Schmorgasbord brings together two relatively disparate and unrelated artists, but who both share a uniquely twisted approach to making music. S-Max has been doing his thing for some time, running legendary home all things bizarre in house and techno, Boogizm, and releasing a special kind of groove on labels such as Telegraph, 7th City and Karloff. His original track, 'Ms. Rosen Dub', swaggers and sways with the spirit of classic Yorkshire bleeps and bass. The groove is house, but the spirit of adventure is most definitely techno. His remix of Spatial's 'Corti' takes a very different approach, taking a rolling, jungle-like approach to dubstep and nailing it to the groove with stabbing bass notes. Spatial leapt onto the bass music radar late 2008 with his shadowy Infrasonics imprint, and quickly snapped heads with his crisp, refined approach to 2-step rhythms. Since then he's done things on his own terms, only releasing for himself and mutating his sound over a series of 10's. 'Corti' perfectly demonstrates Spatials unconventional tendencies, lurching and buckling around a perfectly honed splatter of beats, off-centre synths and delirious vocal snippets. Meanwhile on his remix of S-Max, Spatial flips the script once again with a stomping, swung techno angle that hammers the original into an uptempo, fist-pumping banger.

STATUE is a live percussion based dance project, the brainchild of Melbourne drummer Tom Gould. Over the past five years he has honed his craft in cult Melbourne bands NO ZU and Worlds End press but now greets the dance world under the moniker STATUE. After featuring in last years Beats In Space - best of the year list with his debut 12", his second EP 'Monument' is a reflection of the human and a testament to dance floors both indoor and out. MONUMENT further establishes STATUE as a fixture in Melbourne's dance music culture, constructed for both warm afternoons and the sweaty early hours of Australian summer. The EP traverses multiple tempos, between techno, house and tribal percussion, creating a world of warm percussive dance floor odysseys arriving parched and thirsty for more at it's aural peak, Monument. The expedition ends with an expansive remix by Disco Halal king pin and recent ESP Institute alumni, Moscoman.

Last AVA. release in 2014 comes from labelhead Damiano von Erckert himself. Well known for fresh collaborations von Erckert links up this time with Chicago based soulful house legend Peven Everett. After a very successful year and a lot of hype around his name, von Erckert keeps movin' forward with 'MICKEY M. AND THE MARLBORO MAN' and represents the AVA. sound in its roots. Groove, dance and a big smile.Damiano's and Peven Everett's collaboration 'All about lovin' me' shows the connection and similarities between those two guys: Soul. Von Erckerts '4 O' Clock. You Are In A Club Mix' of 'All about lovin' me' is much more danceable and darker then the original version. House groover 'Diamonds and Girls' is released on this EP as well, which is on heavy rotation worldwide by lots of DJs and friends of AVA. We're very happy to welcome Max Graef on this release joining the AVA. family, who's responsible for some of the most influential jazzy house sound of Germany the last 2 years. His remix of 'All about lovin' me' is just another proof of his big talent. A big year for AVA. and von Erckert.

Especial welcomes one Alphonse to the label. A true missing in action, last seen by his crew dancing atop a bus, here literally forced him to give up the tape of Same For Me. A peane to his life Possi bly. Mixing techno beats and (proto) rave breaks, all under his own unique and heartfelt message. Discovered on the outskirts of Letchlade, down the bottom of an abandoned traveller site in a delapidated caravan with just the clothes he was in, while clutching an armful of reel-to-reels masters, a pack of 20 B&H and 1 can of Strongbow, Alphonse's story is one of party obsessive gone AWOL. Mumbling periodically, words deciphered and names dropped. Frome, Stroud and whisper it,
Castlemorton, led to rehabitlation, a bath, shave and slowly enticing his musical knowledge to share. With a few scraps appearing here and there, including a micro(dot) of disco editing knowhow given, here though he finally is able to share his experiences by looking back through making music of the future.
Same For Me starts with Sterns intent, all hats, kick and fx to the max, a Fantazia of expression, before toms and 808 snap and the sermon begins. But wait, where is the bass Boom! Subs squeeze ribs while flute lifts minds skywards. "A valuable tool in life. Concentrate on something makes you happy..."
To bring this in to fold, the Junior family member is given the tapes to show what he can do. The most subtle start lulls you in to a sense of is that it There must be more. Building.
Building. Break and...hands to the Sunrise. "...Thank you. Same For Me. Same For Me."

Nach etwa fünf Jahren Veröffentlichungspause bringt Brent Cash via Marina sein drittes Album heraus. Man
ist geneigt, das mit einem "endlich" zu quittieren - so überwältigend schön gerieten die beiden Vorgänger von
"The New High". Schon das opulente Debüt "How Will I Know If I'm Awake" (2008) des Multiinstrumentalisten,
Grandios!

Young Berlin-based Italian producer Saverio Celestri, who shined on BBR05, the Crossover EP, sets the tone beautifully with the haunting and emotionally-charged Detroit Feeling. Having previously collaborated with Fred P for Deep Explorer, Brooklyn-based artist Jordan (Finale Sessions/Ornate) debuts alone here for us with the wonderfully dark, twitchy and yet persistently funky, Device.

Wolfgang Tiepold, seit 1978 Schulzes "Haus-Cellist".

Professor Inc returns to boe with a four track EP of low slung heady house vibes, thumping drums and searing soundscapes. Punchy 4/4 rhythms and throaty chords of Crazy grace the Aside where neat percussion sections break up dubby sweeps and deft ambient samples. The rolling loose beats and haunting synths movements of Undergound sit nicely inside and offer a pumping club cut. The glorious strings of Life After Asylum play nicely with vox synths, weird samples and some weighty low end. Rounding out the EP, Put Up the Vibe skips and swings with fizzy stabs, modulated percussions and warm grooving bass.

DX Recordings returns with a four tracker from Scott Fraser, folllowing on from the inaugural Dariana 12" earlier this year featuring a deep as hell remix from Chicago legend Mystic Bill. 3 different moods of analogue warmth starting off with "No Word Of Truth" a driving Detroit infused groove joining the dots across to Berlin's Basic Channel, with a Deep bassline, rattling tom's and shifting high hats. On B2 Mystic Bill takes the track deeper and darker, adding dubs, soaring vocals and tight percussion this is Mystic Bills trademark deepness at its best. Over on side B we start off with another Aslice of classic deep techno with a heady basslin. Thumping drums and driving strings keeping feet firmly on the danceloor, leaning heavily again towards Detroit a massive bassline rips in and the strobes come on . Finally on B2 another original remastered piece of deepness from the vaults finally see's a full release on vinyl. Simple, deep vibing house finding a loft space somehere that Metro Area were residing in 2000's New York.

It is no exaggeration to say that Ultrastretch has accumulated an array of outstanding releases and artists since its creation in 2011. One knows that being as renown a representative of the underground music scene as Sammy Dee is, he can easily sign music from any established artist he would like, the so called 'big names', however, when we look at the past seven releases on Ultrastretch, the agenda here seems to be another. What has become an apparent and admirable feature of this label/platform and of Sammy Dee himself is his clear support for new music from young and yet to be discovered talents. It is on that note that Ultrastretch 08 brings you Romanian artist Crihan.
Hailing from a small town close to Cluj, Alin Crihan moved to Bucharest in 2009 to be more in touch with the underground scene and music in the capital as it poses more opportunities for him to grow and develop. From dj'ing in the most various clubs in his home country, his first steps into Western Europe as a DJ came earlier last year at no less than the legendary Robert Johnson club alongside Petre Inspirescu in Frankfurt.
Producing under his real name for the past four years, Crihan's release for Ultrastretch brings two tracks, setting the listener into two very distinctive paths.
The A Side, 'Uelden' is a dance floor oriented track. The first words to come to mind are groove and rhythm, giving the track a somewhat funky feeling overall. The elements have been crafted carefully and therefore appropriately placed just where and when you need them. By simply starting the track with a bass line and shuffling hihats he slowly develops to a journey that not onlyventures further into groove and rhythm but also in mind grabbing harmonies with deep/airy sounding pads giving it a comforting sense of beauty and obscurity.
The B Side is called 'A Doua Dimensiune', literally translated from Romanian it means 'The Second Dimension'. Doing justice to the title the track does generate the feeling of being in another dimension. It is a very deep affair into mind-altering soundscapes, very atmospheric and at times dark and obscure. Attention to detail is apparent judging by the overlayering of elements featured in this track. A constant rolling base formed of 'water tapping' ambient sounds give way to harmonies made up of strings and random noises on top.

Astute wax enthusiast Brothers' Vibe brings forth the third installment of his Mixx Split series, meant to cast light on what the multi-label boss is notorious for: soulful house music! Also signing the opening track 0.95Lonliness', the American prodigy takes us on a deep incursion, skillfully layering classic house beats over uplifting sounds into a heart racing groove. Newcomer Eddie Merced follows up with a deep and dreamy offering, infusing trancy vibes into a futuristic bassline for a full 6:29 minutes of 'Midtown Cruisin''. Delving further into the deep ambient realm, Japanese producer Tominori Hosoya doles out some tribal sounds for his spatial track "Paradise". Closing tune "Deep Space" gives away just a bit of the surprise in its title, as George P injects his signature Tech House oomph in a contrasting murky bassline.

Nandu lands on OFF Recordings with a spellbinding three-track debut.
'Walk' opens proceedings, merging a chugging low end with forlorn vocals, claves and clangs, setting a dark and trippy atmosphere.
Label head Andre Crom reworks the addictive original, twisting it into a swirling trip of layered synths and subtle, shuffling hi-hats.
The exotic entitled 'Limon' sits somewhere in between. Its off-the-wall drum programming and moody, arpeggiated synth line gives this one a late night feel that is sure to blow the roof off of any dance floor.

What more can be said about 2016 for Red Rack'em apart from MASSIVE In March, he released the instant classic Wonky Bassline Disco Banger which has been one of the biggest selling house tracks of the year, picking up praise and plays across the board from Moodymann, The Black Madonna and MCDE right through to Disclosure and Mark Ronson. Repeated Radio 1 plays, festival bookings and licensing from Classic soon followed.
WBDB was the first single taken from the Self Portrait LP which is due out in Feb 2017 but before that we have another preview of the first full Red Rack'em long player in the form of Tomato Pope.
Tomato Pope is a slamming party banger. Somewhere between house, techno, African music and broken beat, the drums are driving, the bassline is huge and the vocal samples get mangled throughout the track. It's another guaranteed floor wrecker from Red Rack'em and gives a tantalising taste of the LP weight to follow. Ocaj is a demented funky leftfield house jam which twist and turns relentlessly like a Scottish broad without power steering. Imagine a hip hip cats jazzy jam session recorded on a ghetto blaster being diced by a hip hop great. The samples get chopped like garlic cloves in a top chefs kitchen. Bon appetite!
Rhodes House closes the single with a dreamy, drifty promise of greater things to come.Named in that super descriptive Red Rack'em style, jazz club samples are meshed with super uplifting Rhodes chops to give you that 'aaah' feeling. You can pull a jazz face to this. It's allowed. The artwork comes from an old school friend Abby Smith who painted a portrait of Daniel from a facebook screen grab. x
