Turbo Recordings presents four killer remixes of one of its biggest tracks of the year. Featuring Tiga, Lando Kal, Gingy & Bordello, and Locked Groove.

When Turbo put out Duke Dumont's "The Giver", everyone at the label knew it had the potential to become a massive house anthem. So when it actually happened, it was gratifying to learn that a) the label's braintrust wasn't crazy and b) the rest of the world isn't completely out to lunch. With support from Annie Mac, Erol Alkan, Heidi, Diplo, Damian Lazarus, Martyn, Soul Clap, A-Trak and a legion of other big names, plenty of radio play on BBC One, and rave reviews from critics, the track has taken on a life of its own, spending numerous weeks in Beatport's Deep House Top 5.

With this in mind, the label decided to go with its instincts for the remix pack, sticking with some of its best and most exciting in-house talent while also including a respected outsider.

REMIXERS

Turbo boss Tiga turns the Lifestyle Machine up to 11, before snapping the knob off completely with a seven and a half minute epic that is possibly even more anthemic than the original. Turbo obsessives might have noticed that this is only Tiga's second remix for the label since 2005 - after Azari & III's similarly huge "Reckless (With Your Love)" - offering even more evidence of just how significant a release this is for us.

With releases on Hotflush, Rush Hour, and Numbers, Lando Kal has been pushing his sound more and more into the realm of gear-based Detroit-influenced techno. His version of "The Giver" continues in this vein, a tripped-out after-hours workout that's destined to become the highlight of your next warehouse party.

Toronto's Gingy & Bordello are undeniably two of Turbo's most promising rising stars, with a career path seemingly taken out of some fantastic DJ/production duo storybook. Their mix ramps up the BPM and takes things into big-room techno territory. The arrangement is long and strong, and the payoff near the end is subtle and retains the essential ecstatic tone of the original while doing away with the commercial angle. Let Gingy take you on a journey, and then let Bordello take you on a journey. It's the same journey, but still.

Known for his contributions for Lumberjacks in Hell, Seven Limited or Black Key Records, Giovanni is a talented musician/dj from South Italy, producing music for over a decade now.
For his FACES Records debut, Gio is going deep, straight back to his latin/jazz roots with "La Dame et Le Conga" and "What U Feel Like". While paying tribute to the old NY / Garage sound on "Tell You What I Do" Cherry on the top, Detroit legend Rick Wade offers a new take on the title track, crafting a magnificent deep mix of « La Dame et Le Conga" Recommended to every Deep House fans and Children of the Drum!

Right on time for Dorfjungs' fifth anniversary, the release of "The White EP" marks catalouge number 005 for the Cologne collective. For this very conceptual work, Motip White draws samples from the furthest borders of the digital realm and exhibits them in large, white halls. This way, a quartett of detailed short storys unravels: four Kraut/Ambient/House hybrids, compatible with both the club and long car rides. The artwork on each of the 330 records in the edition was drawn with a spatula.

Phil Mison says: "Ever since I first met Kenneth Bager at Roskilde Festival in 1992 (where I recognised him from photos in iD Magazine where his outlandish dress sense was very obvious!), we have been friends. It was the start of a long musical relationship and we eventually began working together. My first Cantoma album was recorded for Music For Dreams in early 2006. The Frontera project with Pete Herbert was realised a couple of years later.
Last year we decided it was time for something new, which led to recording AMBALA over the past year in Copenhagen together with musician and engineer Volmer. AMBALA is an album for dancing, relaxing and doing everything else in between, just enjoy!"
This vinyl three tracker on Copenhagen's Music For Dreams is a teaser for the full album of AMBALA to be released just before the summer kicks in. First track 'Calypso Beach' showcases a new direction from from former Cafe Del Mar DJ Phil Mison - classical house with West Indian vibes - a hooky steel drum, live bass, dreamy pads and an irresistible melody make a winning combo.
Flip over and there is another twisted tale 'High Line...', a funky organ-driven hypnotic groove, old school drum machines, soulful keys ... Balearic for warm summer nights. The second treatment comes from another Berlin Boy called Mr. Lars Moston. He turned the original into a dubby, almost reggae kinda afterhour joint sounding like King Tubby playin' a monday morning gig at Bar 25. For all of you sweeties out there who missed the Original Mix I have included this one, too, so there's pretty much everything to please you little toy boys.

This promising Israeli talent delivers two slow burning tracks oozing with eastern influence and informed by the modern sounds of dance. Part of the 84% Creativity crew, Naduve presents his second release with Cocktail d'Amore in the form of a two track EP which revels in it's dark and seductive energy. "No Good News" builds over it's 7-minute run layering mystic vocal synths and coupling them with splashing hats and tight shakers to give just enough beat driven energy to keep a crowd to attention. The flying guitars and staccato synths of "A Trip In Tel Aviv" slither over half beat percussive structures to give this track a sinister feel ideal for late, late, late nights. Wunderkind Man Power drops a tab on "A Trip..." giving it a fresh take perfect for psychedelically inclined moments.

After one year since the first release "Night visions", The Nightdrivers team are back for another race on their own imprint with a bunch of fresh, obscure and rolling bangers named "Nightlights": The record starts with the mutant and spastic tech funk of the epic "Bright lights", a totally sweat walled basement track where a dirty, crispy and crunchy disco break combines with an edgy, syncopated 909 driving beat while a cheeky melody of party-bells going slightly out of tune runs on the top of it.

B side sees instead the infectious, sexy and swinging groove of "The Pimp", a naughty and pumping ghetto house track with irresistible and evocative vocals recalling to main mother earth's goodness, while on the second cut there's "Funky lights", a tough dubbed out version of A side where star wars lasers sounds and a bouncing and wobbling sneaky bass line dominates the scene moving on a dusty and solid keep on going rhythm.

Belgian duo Raw District pair up with the formidable Aquarius Heaven for a sophisticated and seductive EP for Crosstown Rebels. 'Her Mind' also comes with a brilliant Martin Buttrich remix.The iconic vocals of Aquarius Heaven sway against the mechanised dub-laden beats of 'Her Mind', forging a glowing fusion of languid harmony. 'Tell No One' is a sonically imposing beast of a track, whilst Martin Buttrich's outstanding remix nests firmly in the heat of the night.Raw District are the Belgian duo Vernon Bara and Massimo DaCosta, who met in a Mons record shop in 2000, and run the label Homecoming Music. Born in 2013, their music has since been seen on labels such as OM, Brique Rouge, Souvenir, Robsoul, OFF, and now Crosstown Rebels. Vernon Bara is also known as Ultrasone alongside Igor Vicente, the techno project that has released on Hot Creations and Supplement Facts.Aquarius Heaven, born Brian Brewster, is an ex reggae dancehall and hip hop singer. Now based in Paris, he has had previous releases on Circus Company, Visionquest and Wolf + Lamb and also collaborating with dOP & Art Department.Martin Buttrich's journey into electronic music began in clubs in Berlin and Hannover at the dawn of the '90s. His notorious collaborations with Timo Maas and Loco Dice have led him to form the infamous label, Desolat and he still manages to find time to put out a remarkable collection of music.

Introducing a new series to the family! The Strata Series is focused on bringing you some new flavas of house and techno from various producers.

Lehult is back on the roll after living the rockstar life that naturally follows a sold out debut release. But just like with sex and marriage, it's the second time that you really have to make count: after some overwhelming feedback for Lucky Charmz' 'Follow Me To Flottbek Falls' EP, Lehult returns with a follow-up that adds some spin to the curveball. The 'Let's Get Playa' EP introduces three core members of the Lehult crew: Liem (pictured on the cover, Gin&Tonic in hand), Eddie Ness and Johan Kaseta all take their shots in mixed couplets, delivering some machine driven, sunlit house with a refreshing, ice cold splash. 'Bassforce XXL' sets up the A-sides' sunrise beach vibe with an uplifting chord progression and a fruity, dynamic bassline - the kind that makes a musician bounce around his studio grinning sheepishly, transporting that same effect to the dance floor. Then, A2 'M-Trax", while revolving around the same sunlit feeling, plunges deeper with swirling birdsong melodies and raw, thumpin' drums'n'congas. Almost a rhythm track, its' simple yet challenging structure - emotive chords, a yearning for the held off bassline - creates an absorbed moment on the dancefloor. It could be a Monday. Maybe it is more like a Tuesday or any other day of the week. But it is certainly one of these days when your memory parades in front of you, full of emotions. And then the search for the traces begins. A few dozen pictures in your digital camera, your record case - still lying next to your front door. Handle with care. This side up. In your pocket, there is a flyer; on its back a short but treasured message 'thank you for the music.' Monika Kruse knows these days and moments. Her personal collection of memories as a DJ, musician and producer continues to give her the ideas, strength and dedication which music always demands. At the start of the nineties, Monika´s DJ life began with her as a resident at the Ultraschall Club in Munich. During the next years she published seven mix compilations and set up the record labels Terminal M and Electric Avenue. Her flourishing career took her East, several times, to Japan`s biggest indoor rave 'Wire', and Australia, as well as West, to the best Brazilian clubs. Back home in Berlin, she played in front of a crowd of 1.5 million ravers at the Love Parade, and at world-famous local clubs such as Berghain / Panoramabar, Watergate and Weekend. Now, twenty years later, she has put all of her traces and roots into her fourth artist album. All the beginnings, the ends, highlights, styles, and shadows/colours of her musical life. For Monika, words like deep house, techno, Drum & Bass or tech-house stand for hundreds of records, artists and parties. Traces she collected and digested at some time all put together as a whole.

Real Treat for the Dancefloor =)

UK funk connoisseur Duke Slammer takes the driving seat on the 303-fueled 'Bangkok Skytrain', with remixes from Moscow based Simple Symmetry and returning artist Tony G. Inspired by tropical heat, Bangkok Skytrain utilises 303s, analogue drum machines and mixes in field recordings taken from an excursion to Thailand. The result is a heady concoction of warm basslines and humid atmospheres, with a groove reminiscent of early 90's melodic techno and a cheeky drum track that wouldn't be out of place on a Larry Heard record. Simple Symmetry, the Lipski brothers from Moscow, slowly rebuild layers of the track like a locomotive building up momentum, and in typical style Simple Symmetry style finding the perfect vocal sample and pan pipes that help propels you into the foreign lands. Before you know it the track is pumping at full chug! Tony G's take goes a bit further afield than the original. A dub rhythm sets the picture in outer-space. Hihats stutters like cosmic dust rickashading off the nosecone of the space ship while longing strings take us deep into a distant nebular before the 303 bring the thousands of new galaxies into view. Definitely music to listen to in the dark! Look out for the secret dancefloor weapon 'Just Drums', an industrial drum machine workout for the freaks!

The krankbrother label comes back out of the blocks this May, hot on the heels of their inaugural release (produced by krankbrother themselves), with a second offering, this time from young Welsh producer Jody Barr. Having been producing and demo-ing material for the last couple of years, Barr has been picking up some fans of late, including George FitzGerald and B-Traits, and this release on krankbrother marks his debut single, and a bright future.

With its heavy kick and growling sub-bass dominating the release opener, 'Room 108' smacks of 'big-room' in all the right places. Barr works the basic elements to maximum effect, serving up a hefty peak time track that straddles the line of house and techno with ease.

Continuing at this pace, 'Think About It' once more relies on the powerful drums for its impact, adding dramatic rising synths and sunrise strings to carve out a most hedonistic production, whilst the energy levels don't let up for one minute as 'Arizona Dream' fuses its dubby techno sounds with goose bump inflicting pianos and soft strings to memorable effect.

Backwards EP is the first collaboration between Moodmusic head Sasse and Maurice Aymard. Backwards is a fresh take on house music with touches of disco, electronica and techno mixed in to the equation forming a beautiful mixture of forward thinking club music with a hands in the air factor. Easing us into things with gentle rhodes samples and a skippy groove, Vorhaus (of Soul Of Hex fame) and Mython soon develop things with hints of acid before unleashing a jazz piano riff that can be best described as unhinged.
Flipping over the mysterious Zepp001 hunt and gatherer brings us Enemy. There's elements of disco with bouncing syndrum fills and a mysterious mood prevails as shakers rattle, bells chime and congas slap but when the bassline drops it's clear we're into some serious future s**t here.
Finally, we have our very own Norm De Plume who lays down a bad-boy groove with a rocking bassline, clattering cowbells and tension-building pads bringing an intense build and rounding off our 50th release in fine fashion, we hope you agree.

The beats have an edge, the chords are not trying too hard, the composition is perfectly crafted to hit all the right spots.
When that crowd is thirsty for more heat, pull out this record, drop one of the tracks and watch everyone go wild!

Adesse has recently turned heads with his sought after and limited 'Versions' releases.
For Prime Numbers he brings another high quality ep featuring three more excursions.
The title track 'Untitled Love' is a dubbed up 90's-esque workout. Repetitive vocal samples swirl over a deep, low-slung bass groove & peak'd-up snares. Its an unashamedly wide eyed, bouncing production that'll please those checking for the current resurgence of raw garage sounds.

'Supernal' takes things into deeper territory with an intriguing steppers outing. The track oozes soul with rousing keys & smoked-out production that's all kept in line by a mesmerising, metronomic vocal. The set is closed by 'Metachemistry' an equally engrossing track utilising a shuffling groove wrapped in breathy, reedy horns & heavily reverbed percussion.
All told a deeply reverential release highlighting a producer with an obviously wide palette of influence & a natural feel for what simply works.

Akra, otherwise known as Nick Woolfson, is one half of Mock & Toof and has built a reputation for producing quality underground deep house and nu-disco, releasing with the likes of Mule Musiq, RVNG Intl, DFA and his own imprint Tiny Sticks / M&T Inc, as well as remixing reputable artists such as Scissor Sisters, Groove Armada, Zero 7, Hot Chip and Ladyhawke. Now Woolfson moves into techno territory with his new side project as AKRA having already impressed the likes of Kink, Chicago Damn, Ame, Sasse, DJ Deep and Deep Space Orchestra.

Following their remix of Moodtrap last year, we welcome Audiojack to Tsuba with two of their distinctive bass lead house tracks backed with a killer cosmic mix from Running Back's Lauer.

A1: trippy trip house with stompy bass, sometimes, and trumpet alike synths playing softy on the other end, ever changing.
A2: slow slow slow strong powerful and dirty, yet softy hippy real music.

We ignite with The Divided Self' is one of Chymera's personal favourite compositions from last year. Setting out with the simple mission to make a deep emotive track, it was one of those super-rare golden studio moments when everything came together in a matter of hours. Pensive and poignant, restrained and ruled by minor chords, the sense of melancholy makes even more sense when you understand the title: 'The Divided Self' is named after a groundbreaking book that discussed and explored mental illness in a way that, at the time, had never been done before. Next up is Canavan Calling", a track that's characterised by an incredible bassline that's so broad, rich and textured it's almost overwhelming. No surprises, then, that is created on an original Minimoog, an instrument Chymera fell in love with while he attended a Studio Stekker week alongside peers such as Mathew Jonson, Sebastian Mullaert and The Mole. Mutating, morphing and moving throughout, starlit synths soon enter the mix, soaring and thrusting further upwards to create a natural, rolling organic build up and pay off. Named after an obscure short horror story by Joseph Payne Brennan, the only thing horrific about this track is the price of an original Minimoog. Both cuts taking their titles from literary inspirations, both cuts revealing wholly different sides to Chymera, both cuts warming us up to the very bottom of our souls this winter...
