House Vinyl New Releases - News

LP 2x12" LP in deluxe gatefold 'Replica' covered by screen printed fabric + poster (90x60cm) + CD Led by Busy P - AKA baseball-capped, head honcho Pedro Winter - Ed Banger Records have risen from low key Parisian rock 'n' roll cool to become one of global clubland`s most colourful and recognizable music outlets. It could be said they've ascended to maturity yet, in many ways, Ed Banger remains gleefully youthful, holding to the spirit of the party - a stable of DJ-producers with a huge sense of fun and old-fashioned loyalty to each other and their fans criss-crossing the world. The imprint's illustrious history and adventures have been documented in a new photographic book by label designer So Me called 'Travaile. Famille. Party' - Work. Family. Party. As Pedro explains 'After managing Daft Punk between 1996 and 2008 I wanted to create my own history. By creating Ed Banger records I launched my own musical adventure in a way. I learnt so much with Daft Punk, I owe them a lot. Celebrating this 10th anniversary is very emotional, I'm proud I managed to write a pretty nice musical chapter in my life. Daft Punk as chapter #1 and Ed Banger records as chapter #2 is pretty cool.

Gunnar Haslam is a long-time Mister family member. By day he's a scholar of particle physics and signal processing, and by night he makes very heady music. He contributed to the Brothers and Sisters album and released the first (and only) ten-inch on Mister Saturday Night Records, but this is his first twelve-inch for the label.

Truth Be Tolds third release is coming from the label owner Robert himself again, his new friend, austrian native, part time He-Man and the next big thing in catwalk sound design, Egon Elliut, and the berlin based project and collective New Adventures In Hifi. Four very diverse tracks either for the sweaty floors or your leisure time entertainment.

Solidar's Debut on the newcomer label Bravuroes. This first release comes with tricky percussion and extensive synthie sounds as well as some pumpy deep basslines with short breaks. Vinyl only!

Ludovic is a composer who spent his youth in the north of france, learning music-making with computers (Commodore 64 and Amiga). After releasing a couple of techno/house 12 inches on small labels, he signed an artist contract (using his family name as a moniker) with french label F-Communications on 1997, releasing three EP's, followed by a LP ("Newcomer") on 2001. The album's huge success (more than 170.000 copies sold) leads him to stages around the world, touring for more than 3 years with musicians and singers, performing live in famous festivals (Montreux, Nice, Vienne, Den Haag, Les vieilles charrues) and in prestigious venues.

After releasing a mixed compilation ("My playlist") for Wagram Records in 2005, covering a wide range of musical genres, Ludovic focuses on remixing, working for respected labels such as 2020vision, Freerange, Compost Black Records, Brique rouge, Music Man, Chez Records, to name just a few. His efforts being rewarded by high-quality compilations licenses (Fabric 33) and critical acclaims. Contacted by french dj and producer Claude Monnet to join the Back To Fundamentals' compilation stable, Ludovic releases the track under a new pseudonym ("Miamik"). 'Insatiable', featuring female singer Tanya Michelle, reaches 8000 downloads in a couple of months. Besides, Ludovic starts composing soundtracks and bed-music for tv commercials and websites, working with famous brands such as Chanel, Guerlain, Henessy, Boucheron, or Yves Saint-Laurent.

Ludovic's most electronic and edgy project Art Of Tones ignites with a serie of EP's for 2020vision in 2006. Thanx to 'Praise' and 'Call The Shots (featuring Jaw)', the AOT project immediately receives positive feedbacks from big-name dj's and license requests for a plethora of brilliant compilations (Xpress 2 for NRK's coast to coast, Francois K for Ministry Of Sound's Masterpieces, Renaissance Masters serie). Later on, 'The World As I Live It EP' for the Hamburg-based label 'Room With A view' receives praises from top dj's such as Atjazz or Jimpster, followed by 'Too Much' being ranked in 'Resident Advisor's 2011 most played tracks'.
Ludovic is about to launch a bunch of brand new EP's on some of the most looked-after house-music labels : one of them is expected to be released on Local Talk after summer, the other ones being released on 'We Play House' and 'Lazy Days'. A new collaboration with female singer Tanya Michelle will be launched this summer on 'Defected Limited', and the first Blossom Kollektiv vinyl should feature an exclusive Art Of Tones track.

Last night EP, the second release by In Records, where Emiliano Ferreyra brings a real beauty that makes you feel this Argentinian
taste of music.
Starting with the track 'Last night' that gives the title to the release, with sketchy and rhythmic percs that makes a good way to open the release. Then you find 'Our Walk', in collaboration with the amazing duo Proudly People, special for the first tracks of the night or maybe to enjoy the sunshine of an after party. There comes 'Oldie', with his heavy riddim and joined by Max J and Coockies remix of it making a real deep atmospheric environment.

Lucianno's groove can be defined as a projection of his inner self and his life experiences as a young beatmaker in the deep thickness of Argentina's inner cloister.
Hood cuts is explained by itself, bossy basses, mental rhythms and soulful vocals, hard on the outside soft on the inside.

Produced by Kaelem Fakier aka Terrasoul. Written by Terrasoul, Justin Jesse (JYD) and Blake Steenkamp (Khoi)
Vocals by JYD and Khoi

SHADELEAF No.9 sees City Fly's JONNA step up with a superb EP !Vocalist Erik Rico graces title track 'Through The night', a serious piece of Deep, Disco influenced dopeness that follows the classic US House blueprint, but with that all important UK grit in the construction.A2 & 3 cater for the labels love of lo-slung Sample House, with 'Music For People' really shining as a thumpin' sound system jam
Who better to tackle the beautiful title track than NY born, Detroit grown bad boy Kai Alce !
His recent Sandman & Riverside joint has been testing a few speaker stacks these last few weeks, so the label couldn't wait to hear his versions of Through The Night
Safe to say, he doesn't disappoint !
A disctinctive vocal rub that recalls classic Ron Trent, and a stripped down and deadly KZR dub - Roots House at its finest !

Atlanta-based artist follows his Sound Signature release w/this special 6-track affair for RSD that explores the nature of reality and being, the pursuit of ecstasy and bliss, and embracing the ephemeral.

The perfectly formed Italian label Claque is kick starting 2015 with a tidy new two track EP that features label boss Carola Pisaturo and Nick Anthony Simoncino in collaboration, and deep house pioneer Ron Trent on remix duties.

The label has been doing its do since 2006 and always offered cultured releases, and this one is no different. Italian Simoncino has released lots of great 12inches and Eps on labels like Mathematics, Skylax and Creme Organisation, whilst label boss Carola Pisaturo also releases on a range of other labels, if not rather infrequently.

The one original is Breeze, a deep, smoky house cut with kicks way below the surface, humid pads and spoken word vocal snippets all making for a spiritual and seductive atmosphere. Full of genuinely emotive soul and conjuring up a cuddly atmosphere that is insular and cerebral, meaningful and wholly complete, it is an archetypal deep house track that puts all modern imitators to shame.

Remixing is Ron Trent, founder of Prescription records and alongside Chez Damier someone who very much laid out the blueprint for deep house in the mid 1990s. His remix allows a little more colour into the mix. Strings, melodies, jazzy lines and more expressive percussive hits all make for a more uplifting listening, but the track is still resolutely deep and spiritual.

These two cuts are essential for any true fan of the deep.

Recently released on L.I.E.S. Russian Torrent Versions, Fabio Monesi makes a return to his own Wilson
Records after last year's album "Parasol Dance'.
From the raw beat of Mirage' to the smooth and jazzy sound of Pipe Dream', this EP encloses the
versatile approach of Fabio Monesi to the music, in which analog recordings and warm sounds are a
must.

GLENN is back with 4 more tracks reworked in his distinctive style mixing jazz and Chicago house. CANDIDO's "DANCIN' AND PRANCIN", a party cut with all new percussion plus one by ELI's 2ND COMING, a Paradise Garage/MusicBox classic b/w FATBACK BAND's "ALL DAY" and a dope EARL KLUGH jazz funk jam!

Deep Groovin House, Very Limited Copies!

Mollono. Too Much Money Not Enough Style. Eingängige Grooves aus faszinierenden Zwischenwelten!

Part 4 in the Vibes series.... and its Urban Tribe again... who seems to be popping records every other week at the moment. Track one is 'Carl Craig, Kenny Dixon Jr, Shake and Sherard Ingram are Urban Trib - 1st Mistake, Flip side is Urban Tribe - D2000 (The Godson remix).

Give'n'Take is a new series on Uncanny Valley that focuses on favourite and like-minded producers from some of our core artists. For the start, Cuthead picked Max Graef, S3A and Moony Me and also contributed two tracks to the EP himself. Berlin's wunderkind Max Graef hands in "Tittenkuschler", a slow burner that will find a home on heartfelt dancefloors and sofas alike. Cuthead's follows up with a punchy house affair called "Braziliance" and the super-relaxing Hip-Hop-cut "Oef Oef". On the flipside we have S3A from Paris with the discoid "Theuz Hamtaak". He takes no prisoners with extensive sampling and an up and down bouncing arrangement. "Magergarten" from Vienna's Moony Me runs in the same vein with its string-heavy break and powerfull drumming. For the visual component Uncanny Valley asked Lucas Hunter aka Luca Lozano aka Luke to create one of his oldschool-praising artworks.

Consistent in his output since 2006, London-based Alex Celler has carved a reputation recording on highly esteemed imprints such as Tuning Spork, Contexterrior, Broquade and All Inn to name a few. Now he turns up the heat for an impressive two-track debut on Trelik. The A-Side "Haz" kicks off with tight, dry drums moving emotively with warm bubbling bass, subtle house stabs and soothing, mysterious vocals. Drops and licks of percussion build and fall over the 9:19 duration with the aid of cleverly scattered piano keys this forward thinking arrangement stands-out perfectly. "Pacificon" on the B-side strips things back to the bare-essentials, a highly playable cut that takes on a more techno-orientated approach featuring persistent bass and metallic vocals creating a deadly effective backdrop of space and tension. Hot off the heels from his album on Church, Ishmael delivers Street Scenes EP on Deso with a remix by Mannequins

Sophisticated from the off, the set stretches into life with the delicate guitars, dreamy chimes and swaying rhythm of 12" cut 'Tabarin'. Appearing here in its original form, 'Tabarin' soundtracks la dolce vita of the Mediterranean, sweeping through Capri, San Antonio and Casablanca on a swell of swooning strings, sun kissed trumpets and airy flute. The beachfront soul of previous single 'Alive' finds Bing Ji Ling musing on Tibetan mindfulness over Phil's gentle samba groove before the titular 'Just Landed' reclines on the beach, looking out to where the waves chase the sun over the horizon.

Phil delivers a touch of dub on 'Echo', laying a fluid foundation of limber bass and circular steel drums for Suad Khalifa's soaring vocals before the stunning 'Abando', a collaboration with Balearic legend and former Finis Africae member Javier Bergia, brings us to the halfway point.

The flamenco guitar and insistent backbeat of 'Tali Lumi' offers a subtle change of pace, while the african drums, dreamy harp and future primitive melodies of 'Vialas Journey' hint at the rich vegetation of tropical climes.

'Clear Coast' drifts in on the jet stream as Brenda Ray's whispered vocals glide over a verdant blend of guitar, synth and melodica, transporting us to a distant cliff top where the piano led beauty of 'Sea Of Blue' fills the air.

Red Axes is the project of Tel-Aviv-based producers and DJs Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi. They had a meteoric rise over the last 12 months with a string of releases on labels like Multi Culti, Crosstown Rebels, Hivern Disc as well as on their freshly founded own imprint Garzen. As a result they've deservedly become sought after remixers and global DJs.

Much like Crowded House, you know more Dave Clark songs than you think you do. In fact, Mr Clark's musical endeavours past & present trace a line through the occult history of the Glasgow underground. Along with JD Twitch he made up the Optimo Espacio remix unit, reworking tracks by the likes of Factory Floor, Boris & Pharoahe Monch (!). As a member of Big Ned he's traversed the nefarious regions of Post-Beefheart Shaman Rock. With Roger Elliot as State of Flux he released a series of stone-cold killing Techno records in the mid-90's. Under the guise of LUMA, Clark put out one of 2013's most anthemic 12"s for Optimo Trax in the form of the Amesville EP. As Truffle Club - driving electronic disco for the likes of Andy Blake's much-lauded Dissident imprint. Here however, he returns to the moniker of Sparky, a name you might already be familiar with having probably copped the Drexciyan epic "Portland" - the title track having been subsequently remixed by no less than Ricardo Villalobos & Tuff City Kids respectively. With this inimitable EP, Sparky dug deep into the archives to unearth two unique cuts recorded direct to tape in 1994. yes: NINETEEN-NINETY-FOUR. Listening to these tracks it becomes immediately apparent how ahead of the curve Clark was in dem heady dayz. Anyway, enough of the talkin - it's now time to step though the doors of Gnarnia and wash yourself in the light of.... the "Tapes".

Following the launch of his limited multi edition FORMAT project in February, Trevor Jackson releases a collected triple LP edition via The Vinyl Factory on the 18 May featuring 13 tracks including an exclusive bonus cut not available on any of the initial releases.

FORMAT is the first album from Trevor Jackson since his acclaimed Playgroup album back in 2001. His Output Recordings label (1996-2006) introduced the world to the likes of Four Tet & LCD Soundsystem, His recent Metal Dance compilations reinvigorated interest in early industrial and experimental electronic dance music that's clearly had a powerful influence on much of today's leftfield club music.

FORMAT's initial limited edition release in February consisted of 12 separate physical releases each featuring a different track, available on 12', 10' & 7' vinyl cd, mini CD, cassette, USB, VHS, minidisc, DAT, 8 track + Reel to Reel this was no ordinary release - it charted the legacy of the physical music format, in a characteristically beautiful and uncompromising way. An accompanying installation at The Vinyl Factory space at Brewer Street Car Park in London offered people the opportunity to listen to the album as a unique audio-visual experience.

Curated from an archive of over 150 tracks Trevor had built up over the past 2 decades, the inspiration for Jackson's music, has come from 'the times and places where genres weren't quite formed.' While his synth and beatbox workouts might touch on proto-house, on new wave, on Italo and techno, on ambient and psychedelia, they are at the same time none of these things.

Washerman strikes back with 4 versatile tracks and is showing us another side of his brilliant work. After probably almost a hundred of releases and remixes under monikers like Sequel or Azuni, he gained himself a big reputation as Washerman. He founded his own label Deep Down Slam and released also for different labels such as Kerri Chandler's Madhouse to name only one.

Two fresh reworks by Moomin and Tristen of Acasuals - Spring Theory. No repress! Thank you a blind jacks journey.

We kick off the first in a irregular series of Rubadub twelves with a three track twelve from the New York dwelling Anthony Naples (Mr Saturday Night, Trilogy Tapes). Features three cracking House tracks that come stamped with the Chief's seal of approval.

James Kumo is back, this time on his own imprint KMusic. Kumo supplies us with two original mixes of his track, 'Yellow', inspired by the infamous & former Tokyo based nightclub. The original mix is tech house at its best, ladened with deep percussive drums, dub influenced chord stabs & warm pads throughout. The 'Dub' mix is exactly that, stripped down and pounding, designed for big room dance floors.
To really add some weight to this release Kumo has added two remixes.
First up is Berlin resident and Metamorphic recordings head honcho, Dan Curtin. Curtin provides us with his trademark Detroit tech-soul sound we all know and love, sure to attract the attention of house and techno fans alike. To finish off the EP, we've enlisted Liverpool based DJ/producer, Binny. He has previously released on the likes of Orbis and Scenery records and provides KMusic with a superb soulful tech groove, that compliments the original to a tee.

- Nummer & Ghosts Of The Sky Remixes
- Strictly limited vinyl
- Silkscreened artwork by House Of Traps & Al White
- Custom, unique Obi-strip artwork

For the first in a series of reinterpretations of material from Linkwood's superb Expressions album, Firecracker Recordings has turned to Chicago deep house veterans Ghosts of the Sky (AKA Perpetual Rhythms' Chicagodeep and Taelue), and fast-rising machine abusers Nummer. The latter dive into an aquatic techno tip, turning the becalmed and melancholic "Love Lost" into a techno-tempo stroll through vintage Carl Craig chords, sweaty machine percussion, and yearning melodies. There's a warmer and heavier, if surprisingly stripped back, feel to Ghosts of the Sky's version of "Object", with spluttering electronics and sumptuous chords stretching out over a rich synth bassline and hissing, cymbal-heavy groove.

The label offers to the artists involved in the project the possibility to gather and experiment a unique sound setting. Inside a large concrete silo, the sound endlessly twirl sand spins around.
A narrow door made of cast iron gives access to this cylindrical space where everything is surrounded by a red glowing darkness. The sound experience is intro-spective and utterly physical. These moments of residenciesunfold as timeless wanderings within the circovonlutions of this vibratile space
