House Vinyl New Releases - News

Double 180 gr vinyl, also includes digital download. Swiss producer Ripperton returns to present his new studio album 'A Little Part Of Shade' due for release June 2013 on Green Records

After firmly establishing their Nu Funk steez in the digital realm with countless releases, London label Boogie Boutique reached into the glamorous world of vinyl in fine style just before Christmas with the double 12" drop A Year On Wax. They elect to continue their twelve inch shaped adventures with a label regular at the helm in the shape of Funk Ferret. The New Zealander has featured on many a Boogie Boutique release, as well as other Nu Funk labels such as Booty Pirates and Ghetto Funk, so keen observers of the scene will know what to expect. "Pushin' Forward" features the mic spitting skills of Imagine This, whose Mr Lif style delivery is the perfect foil for a trademark mid tempo bass heavy bump from the Ferret. Boogie Boutique have assembled a fine cast of remix talent too, with Big Beat veteran Cut La Roc dropping a fine sample heavy revision that allows the vox to shine. Fellow BB artist and Montreal dweller Nick Fonkyson adds some crunchy riffage to the mix, whilst the Funk Ferret's Regrooved Sound System partner DJ Alias concentrates on teasing out some bassline deviancy with some help from Benson.

Slynk has a new release out and it's a beast! I know because it just tried to take a chunk out of my ankle as I moonwalked to the bathroom. If you've been following him all these years you'll know what to expect by now; Four towering funk behemoths forged in the dirty grease pits of James Brown's flavela chop shop by mechanics wearing beastie boy intergalactic suits and daft punk helmets, welding on lasers and electro and swag to create the most incredible dance floor bangers the world has ever known. Where is it It's just over there on that plinth. Which Plinth Are you kidding That Indiana Jones style plinth deep in the Temple of Boom! Just follow the trail of DJ's, by now most of the traps will have been triggered in their stampede to add these four golden Slynk bombs to their set lists. The blow darts got Featurecast, A.Skills is covered in tarantulas, B-Side sadly got the spikes. Thankfully they've all fully recovered, although DJP was last seen still running from a massive boulder of rock somewhere in Stoke on Trent and Goodgroove is by all accounts still pinned down by a tribe of angry Peruvian jazz fans. You know you want it! Here's a whip, here's a cowboy hat and here's a bag of sand the exact same weight as Slynk's new 4 tracker. Now Go!

"Let's Go" feat. High Priest (Antipop Consortium) ist der Ausnahmetrack des aktuellen Rone-Albums "Tohu Bohu", und der erfährt nun die ganze Remixpalette von Clark (Warp), Superpoze (Combien Mille), Rocketnumbernine (Four Tets Partner auf Text Records), Principles Of Geometry (Tigersushi) und Rone höchstpersönlich.

TRACKLIST (VORLÄUFIG)
CD1

Roberto Lobo and Ernesto Avelino come from Mieres, Northern Spain, and have been making music together for more than 20 years. They shook the Spanish underground in the 90s with projects such as Hegemonía or Goodbye until they conceived Fasenuova in 2006. Since then, they've delivered what they define as 'battered free-noise' in a handful of CDr and cassette releases on subterranean labels such as Ozono Kids and Truco Espárrago. 'A La Quinta Hoguera' (Discos Humeantes/ 11) was their official debut and the album that included 'Cachito Turulo', a track that captivated us with its mixture of menacing industrial sequences and weirdly playful vocals. After having listened to it a zillion times over the last couple of years, now we are pleased to release it as a 12' single backed with a batch of remixes by producers that, in one way or another, can relate to their shadowy aesthetic.
Hivern stalwart Marc Piñol keeps the toxic atmospheres of the original composition while winding down its rhythmic pulse with sluggish analog drum-machines. Transforming the vocals into eerie whis- pers and enclosing them with unrelenting acid basslines, the Barcelonian filters the raw energy of the track into a hypnotizing piece of numbing house. Drexciya's Gerald Donald appears under his Heinrich Mueller guise to deliver one of his scientifically-precise electro-treatments. The legendary Detroit pro- ducer brings the track to its terrain by surrounding the vocal snips with his trademark ice-cold sequen- ces and alienating atmospheres. To complete the release, long-time Hivern-fav Legowelt follows the track's savage spirit and adds manic melodies, rapturous pads and extra-muscular bass tones to boost its dance-floor power.
The release comes in a limited edition vinyl 12' with artwork by Hivern in-house designer Arnau Pi.

Limited edition of 500, housed in debossed sleeve, individually hand numbered.
Darkness In My Soul / Before The Death Of Rave / Rave Pt.1 / Future / Under Grey / Rave Pt. 2.
The first in a series of limited edition 12" aimed at the dancefloor. IVVVO, a young producer from Portugal with previous form on Opal Tapes and is closely affiliated with the Photonz crew - The Future EP presents his most exciting work yet.
Six transmissions long - vinyl scarred, abrasive and heartbroken, IVVVO reaches into early UK rave music for inspiration, but twists the end-game. The yearning vocal, the minor key whisper, the shuffling breakbeat, the bleep, the bloop, and the seeping tape-bleed - all present. Yet IVVVO mangles these core elements of dance music past into something that sizzles headfirst into 2013.
Opening cut "Darkness In My Soul" kicks off the record in a sad glare of tone bursts, aching lead lines and throbbing kicks. Elsewhere he reaches into his bag for stinging hats and nagging hooks. All tracks clock in shy of five minutes. IVVVO's way is the quick release, the instant blast, the cute melodic touch... smouldering in warehouse black. No time for bloated dance formulas here.
And then, the piano. Bookending either side sits a pair of devastating miniatures, played on his Grandma's piano, prepared, cloaked in hiss and ending these plates with a kiss of forlorn ambience. A funereal flourish to the Death of Rave... to the Future

On the eve of the release of James Holden's eagerly anticipated new album 'The Inheritors', the appetite-whetting arpeggio extravaganza 'Renata' single trumpets his return with a pair of special remixes from Holden-endorsed synth luminaries Daphni and Steve Moore from Pittsburgh space rockers Zombi.
Caribou mainman Dan Snaith puts on his DJ-friendly Daphni hat to return the Holden remix favour with the sort of idiosyncratic blend of pitched-about vocals, fidgety garage revival beats and psychedelic synths that only he can get away with.
Released on highly collectable marbled grey 10" vinyl

"Must" is pure sonic architecture that breathes and sweats, this is how asphalt and steel sounds in contact with rain and sun. The hunch synthetic of Pablo Bolivar's interlinings, reaches in "Must" a degree of warmth and unpublished maturity.

Oblivious to this musician modes and contemporary fashions, he deliver the Album he always wanted to do. IDM, Deep House, Soulfull and sunny electronics designed and crafted with the meticulousness of a goldsmith.

Songs as sophisticated as friendly; loved but without raising fears. Never Bolivar has been as musical as now, delight and enjoyment in each beat. That's "Must", an album to listen carefully.

With doubt, Pablo Bolivar remains one of the most inspirational and innovating artists of the Spanish electronic scene.

He has earned the highest respect with his essential albums "Anjanas" (2006) and "Recall" (2009), both released on Regular label, and "Motion: The Ambient Works" released on his own Avantroots. He deserves the same credits for his singles releases and remix works, which done for several labels.

We do not forget his splendid parallel project called Pulshar together with Sergio "Afro" Sainz, with several releases, remixes and two albums: "Brotherhood" (Phonobox 2008) and "Inside" (Desolat 2010).

Pablo was made for making music, always with an attitude, always with quality as a standard.

The Captain aka Fab Samperi is one of the hottest names in Ghetto Funk right now and we are proud to welcome him to Breakbeat Paradise Recordings to drop a monster 5-track vinyl. He's teamed up with two countrymen who share his passion for funky upbeat drum 'n' bass groovers - the Italian producers PhonoMatt & Tommyboy. If this wasn't enough they've teamed up with another ghetto funk heavy weightier: BadboE who's dropping a killer remix on the flip side of this EP.

Expect something a little different from the usual BBP business but as always funky as hell and full of attitude. The tempo is closer to drum 'n' bass but the street feel and wobbles from ghetto funk makes these jams perfect peak time bangers.

The Captain just recently dropped his first 4-track vinyl on the legendary Ghetto Funk label, which were ripped off the shelves and sold out in less than 2-month time. The Captain has previously released tunes on labels likes Resense, Tremendo & Good Groove and remixed tunes by CMC/Silenta, Ursula 1000, The Sly Players & Dj Love as well as releasing the full length album: Power Bossa on the Agogo label in 2011.
It's clear that PhonoMatt & Tommyboy is following the footsteps of their Captain and this EP shows a breath of air into the Ghetto Funk scene from a new breed of funky Italian producers.

Honing his craft from his live-in studio above a South London public house, William Arcane weaves striking vocal leads through impeccable electronic production and sound design.

Having experimented for years, Permanence represents a young producer reaching maturity. William Arcane has created something incredible incorporating sounds found in London's clubs, streets and his own beautifully considered vocals.

Animal Collective veröffentlichen Ende Mai mit ihrer 12 inch (+ Download Code) namens "Monkey Been To Burntown" eine Remix EP auf Domino. Die 4-Track EP beinhaltet Remixe von den Songs "Monkey Riches" und "New Town Burnout" von ihrem letzten Album "Centipede Hz". Neben einem großartigen Edit von Gang Gang Dance-Mitglied Brian DeGraw, finden sich Remixe vom Hip Hop-Kollektiv Shabazz Palaces, den New Yorker Dance-Produzenten Teengirl Fantasy und dem Chicagoer Traxman!

"All us here down on Bird Scarer farm have been fans of the work of Mr. Craig Bratley for some time, so it is with pleasure unbound that I announce the release of Bird Scarer 4...

Manufactured in a town just outside Leeds and tested on humans for the first time in a tent just outside Skipton... Ladies and gentlemen... Boys and Girls... 'Obsession' by Craig Bratley.
A sleazy new-beat erotic monster of a tune channeling Mr. Delgado and Mr. Gorl (that's D.A.F. to the un-initiated) in the original version and slo-mo'd even more with added live bass (Andy Baxter) and guitar (courtesy of ex Sons Of Slough member Mr. Duncan Gray) via the Asphodells Mix.
Enjoy a 10" obsession..."
Andrew Weatherall, April 2013.

Italian post rock and cosmic disco duo Crimea X have finished their second album, Another. It comes 2 years after their last effort, Prospective, and explores the same laidback yet spaced out sounds laced with intergalactic guitar riffs, wobbly pianos and skewed synth patterns that DJ Rocca (aka Lucca Roccatagliati, producer for Daniele Baldelli, Ajello and Dimitri From Paris's partner in the Erodiscotique project) and Jukka Reverberi (Giardini di Mirò) have championed since first getting together. In that time, the pair have become hugely admired cult figures in their respective worlds, pioneering sounds and garnering adoring support wherever they go. First singles from the album such as 'Yev' have already been doing the rounds, finding favour with musicos like Andrew Weatherall, Ivan Smagghe, Justin Robertson and Tim Sweeney, whilst the album itself was produced by Norwegian legend Bjorn Torske who spent 10 days in the studio with the duo before returning home to mix it in Bergen.

An ode to the seductive powers of the night-time world, a homage to ceremonial cave musica made for the carnal momentum.

Federico Leocata's latest experiment on Abstract Forms is stunning. Drawing inspiration from the experimental style and themes of recurrence in Nietzsche's 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra' (1883-1885), Leocata's EP is hypnotic and seductive. The EP harks to the work of the legendary Gerald Donald in guises such as Heinrich Mueller, Der Zyklus and Japanese Telecom - awesome and unmistakably futuristic sounds with natural funk and a sense of wonder and enlightenment.

Chaval records with a nice double pack releasing some fine soultech with great remixes by Los Hermanos. A double album with six tracks that fuse the soul of the machines with the instruments played by humans. Spanish techno meets classic Detroit techno. Nice fresh aproach of Victor Santana with a live jazzy fusion feel to it. And great remix job by the Los Hermanos too!

a straight up techy dance floor stomper... Diskotopia are proud to announce the debut release from Serifu, entitled Stucco Swim. Although a new name in the industry, what is certain is that this entrance places itself firmly in and outside the realms of modern electronic music as we know it. There is a truly singular vision at work here which is hard to pin down: kaleidoscopic imaginations of club paradigms and funk grooves, envisioned through an approach to composition that is as much a fundamental disintegration of dance music keystones, as it is a construction of fresh bracing parallels.

On top of international radio play in UK, Australia, Germany, Japan and more, support and praise has come from The Wire Magazine (including radio play on their NTS Show), Alexander Nut, Hyetal, Bok Bok, Visionist, Greg G (7even Recordings), Wifey LDN crew, Filter Dread, Rita Maia (Sine Of The Times / Resonance FM), Steve Shaw (FACT Magazine), Mau'lin, Jo Kira, Samename, Stefan Wagner, Hyponik, If Only UK, and many others.

Music pieces by The Cruising duo are not that easy to identify, both style- and time-wise. Funky vibes of the 1970s and 1980s are generously mixed with techno sound and peppered with unconventional live instruments, vocals, and flirting with rock. Throw in ambitions of new genre creators, and you get a fantastic creature, a techno-funky-rock Unicorn.Turn Day On, The Cruising first vinyl released by Krasawa Records, is just like this. It is a rhythmical, laconic, a bit languid techno-like Tinker Tailor rhyme with careless funky runs. Off-the-wall vocal by YulaVovk, a member of the duo, is topped by Roland Alpha Juno-1, a legendary keyboard whose voice is oh so 1980s.Widely known Kyodai AKA Wagon Cookin' have produced two remixes of Turn Day On, one of them dark disco and the other one dub. It is ever more interesting to hear quite a serious techno funky track turning first into a dark-disco opera and then into even a gloomier but classy dance dub.Yet another surprising feature of this release is that the authors of this original genuinely vintage sound are young Russians who were most likely born later than funk itself.

Ed Banger proudly presents their new signing Boston Bun, AKA ThibaudNoyer.. A 25 year old producer and DJ from Paris, Noyer spent his formative years in a series of rock bands before finally finding his way in the form of House Music. "It's my main influence - especially vocal House, anything between 120 and 125 bpm that talks about pleasure, love and desire..." and of course the all important "big warm bassline"

Noyer's displays a masterful touch on this his debut release - lead track 'Housecall' recalls the classic baseline arpeggio pulse of Mr Fingers, allied to the tough jacking drums of Green Velvet, and a moaning, imploring vocal. 'Closer' manages to up the sleaze quotient with a baseline so filthy it needs a good scrub, insistent grunts and shuffling perc, and 'Urname' rounds things out with blissed out pads, yearning vocals and skittering cowbells.

Everything started with his mixtape project entitled "LEAN HOUSE". The idea was to compile and mix some edits of his favourite house track of some of his favorite producers and DJs, in a chopped & screwed style. A couple of months after, his remix of Maelstrom's "HOUSEMUSIC" was released on Sound Pellegrino, and quickly defined the Boston Bun's aesthetic. "I build my music as I would build the atmosphere in a club. A club where you feel good, where you meet people, where something special happens. I try to recreate both the mood and the acoustic of this ideal place"

"Lost In Love" is the first single to be taken from L-Vis 1990's forthcoming debut album, Neon Dreams. Continuing a collaborative partnership which began on last year's "Forever You" single, breakthrough Bristol-based vocalist Javeon McCarthy once again takes centre stage here. Through its melodious analogue synths, infectious vocal hooks and sub-4 minute running length, "Lost In Love" in many ways serves as the ideal entrée to Neon Dreams. This is the sound of L-Vis 1990 revisiting the routes of his dance music love affair.
