On the flip side, Realness teleports you to a nostalgic scenario with its polished chord progressions and breakbeat strikes. Slowly building up with vocal cuts and glitchy transitions, B2 reaches a both nostalgic and mysterious climax. To close the EP, Beam Dump's boss man captures the beautiful essence of Realness bringing beach-like sensations to a tune that's perfect for warming up a dance-floor or enjoying the after-hours.

SYNTAX (Valencia, Spain) First release in Pre-Order!
The stars aligned, everything was in favor. It was not a good idea to pass up this opportunity to create something like Syntax. After a lot of work, the first reference finally appears collaborating with artists like: Dez Williams, Go5, Lex Or, Soj Negocius man, Electrodynamique y Mauro Nakimi.

“Vax!” – Reminiscent of all the slippery vinyl that glitched under so many sweaty wet fingers in a steamy basement before time – a picture that seems highly illegal in our current antiseptic climate of hopefully germ free adolescents. Vax-inate! Give them the needle! It’s time.

Deti Vechnosti – Pered Rassvetom opens the gates to plug into the socket of our collective deranged consciousness, generating frisky and flamboyant specks to brightening darkness that confines our lives. Offering glimpses of the great unknown we also carry within. The Track introduces Chikiss & Mustelide’s new group “Deti Vechnosti”.

Alexander Arpeggio & OhLandy’s “Der Anruf”, wich originally appeared as a French language version on a previous Sameheads / Diapason tape release tells those tales of hot and hotter heat. Karmic payback for the sweaty and long nights enveloped in the halo of resonating frequencies of silly and high-spirited mischief.

Rouge Mécanique – Down the Line – follows suite in the odyssey that is a demented night out, sitting in front of a club, realising that the leatherjacket you picked up a few streets ago from the ground doesn’t smell like adventure but like spew.

The B-Side opens with Automatenfall – a hardware electronic 3 piece, previously appearing live at Sameheads during a “My Friend calls it K-Jazz” event. A yearning that eventually gets us on a spiritual path and headed toward enlightenment through the meandering melange of chimes, that little sounds that usually overcome us in the weirdest of times.

Das Kinn – the new project from Toben Piel, who’s part of Frankfurt’s MMODEM family, and one half of Les Trucs evokes memories of better days, black leatherpants – think Falco meets DAF – Überpop for the Untergrund.

Stopping for a final coup d’œil is Alessandro Adriani’s – Preserved Data Space. A persuasive case of brutally but lovingly worked machines serenading sawtooth waves of an infinite Weiter, a dissolving timeframe – the longest after hour I’ve been to, it lasts more than a year now already and counting.

Inside Out is a brand-new series that invites DJs and producers to blur the boundaries between traditional artist albums and mix compilations. Coming from Aus Music label head and DJ-Kicks curator Will Saul, the concept encourages artists to showcase their own music and or the music of those in their own individual circles. The mix will be release digitally and on CD, while a selection of the tracks will also be available on double gatefold vinyl.

Each instalment will feature 100% new and unreleased music. It is a chance for artists to take sole creative charge, A&R as they see fit and then commission brand new music specifically for the cause. Depending on who is at the helm, Inside Out will take different forms: producers may wish to represent their own sound with only music they have made themselves or with close collaborators, while DJs and label heads may wish to reflect the sounds and scenes that surround them. The results will be a window into an artist's world that works as a coherent mix, but also as a treasure trove of fresh new music that steps outside the usual lines of a dance album.

The idea stems from Will Saul's own approach in the club, which often finds him seeking out brand new and unheard music to play for the first time. That feeling of taking people into the unknown is one that reminds him of the energy and excitement of his early days as a dancer.

For Will's mix he enlists an array of artists who he's worked with over the years, many of whom have released on one of his labels in that time. These include the likes of Lone, Pearson Sound, Move D, Gerd, Youandewan, Martyn, Falty DL, Dauwd, Appleblim and Marquis Hawkes.

Yarn Init overtake you from the right on the Databahn with “Good Call”. In 2020 we started their engine when we released their track “Blind Step” on CLEAR003. Int Main & Varum, as they are registered at the Verkehrsamt, have since released tracks on Mind Controlled Rectifier and Planetaria Soundsystem.

With their first expanded play, they offer an extensive view of their signature style: Speedy Beats, High Energy – Electro deeply saturated with rap samples and breaks. Starting with rolling drive-by-like tunes, this EP will also give you the opportunity to grasp Yarn Init’s vision of Acid Dystopia as well as their take on Love Songs in Hyper Reality.

Boogie Angst celebrate a milestone in their evolution – their 50th release - with a Record Store Day picture disc release of Pleasure Centre Remixed.

The Dutch label was set up by electronic funk impresarios Kraak & Smaak to release their own new material as well as the best in electronica, beats and boogie.

The label hit big early on with the multi-million streaming artist Moods with other successful acts including Vhyce, Saux , Meeka Kates and Secret Rendezvous.

In October 2019 they released the first Kraak & Smaak album on their own label – Pleasure Centre.

For their 50threlease they have put together a picture disc of Pleasure Centre remixes from such electronic luminaries as Yuksek, Opolopo, Jean Tonique, Titeknots and Atjazz.

Lagoon is the protagonist of the ninth release of the Spanish label Several Roots, a collective of national artists that aims to roll out native talent and of which they are co-founders together with other travelling companions. Alta Ley is formed by three original tracks and three remixes by Músculo!, Jackwasfaster and Adhesive. This EP is the third work by the Galician duo and the first vinyl release by Several Roots. Electronics that, far from being linked to any specific style, offers a musical variety that goes from downtempo to breaks, including space disco or IDM.

Nico Nightingale as "Neud Photo" has been on a tear lately and this latest offering for Mysidian shows up as his most dark and menacing.
The electro meets techno sound we know him for is still prevalent but the amnesia-inducing ‘Dreamz’ also carries thumping EBM and New Beat influences. R&S meets Subway meets Mute.

While each track plays on it’s own themes independently with tasteful vocal samples and industrial energy, the thing they all have in common is obvious. They completely satisfy aural wishes excited only during states of R.E.M. They are simply and undisguisedly realizations of wishes.

The necromantic antibeats is the first longplayer by DJ WEB (Walid El Barbir). Repetitive and funky drum-compositions contradict vocal samples resembling horror, suffering, pain and malady, combining both into very playful compositions which contain seductive joy and the ill depths of mankind (hell) at the same time. Saler EP oscillates between dance floor forcefulness and the daydreaming for an idealized future. The return to the original shapes in an encapsulated ambient get together in a 5-tracks EP that goes from "Bombastick" with it's centrifuged acid to the spatial funk of "Algorythm" and the smooth electro sounds of "Nitrogen". In the middle, the ecstatic voices in combination with some unique expansive ambient sounds which could easily resurface a relaxed after hour. "Cero" sends us back to a placid embryonic state thanks to the correct dose of kaleidoscopic arpeggios as umbilical cord.

Up to kick off 2021 in the most adequately frenzied, thoroughly corrosive fashion, DDS04 serves up a quintet of chrome-tanned, hi-velocity beats courtesy of Italian hardware fetishist Anna Funk Damage (previously heard on the likes of Mind Records, Lux Rec, Lazy Tapes and more) and Austrian-Hungarian outfit Dutch Courage - alias Superskin & Új Bála - each of whom step up to the plate to deliver an exquisitely ear-wormy slice of their deranged industrial gospel.

A-side starts off to the sound of AFD's hard bouncin' "48 Hours Death" - a raw-cooked deluge of head-reducing EBM grit, flaring binary signals and Giallo-infused arpeggios out a blood-stained Suspirian tale. Fear for the deadly scalp hunters lurking in the club's darkest nooks, they've just sniffed out your trail.

Brutal churner "Youssef" picks up the torch and pulls out the quake-inducing breaks without further ado, dressed out with languorous Orientalistic melodies and steely distortions tailored to bend mind by the dozens. Forged in the furnace, the full-out punk-minded "I Come From Fire" rounds off the side on a drum and bass-heavy note, drawing as much from 60s psych-garage as it does from 80s deconstructionist tape music.

Flip sides and here's Budapest unit Dutch Courage taking the reins with the off-kilter treat "Hand Of The Sword" - navigating a weird zone of its own, floating astride post-apocalyptic Bristol bass, sliced-and-diced abstraction and overly textured yet equally bone-bruising riddims.

Wrapping up the journey with both force and serenity, "Neo-Soulmates" follows a similar path with its warped synth flexions and raucous machine cries making the rounds from one end of the spectrum to the other effortlessly, merging to give birth to something genetically contrasting from any contemporary. A most fitting finale to an EP that celebrates and encourages sonic bizarro in all its forms and manifestations.

So Gerd and Philipp were due to play XOYO one saturday night and the club is 6 minutes from my studio so I suggested we go there first to make tunes for a few hours. We made 2 songs that night and one of them is 'reach out'. Gerd did the drums on my 808, Philipp wrote the beautiful lead part on my OBXa and I did the bass in my cs80. I added the words a couple of weeks later, they are inspired by Leonard Cohen's letter to his muse Marianne Ihlen on her deathbed. (Joe Goddard)

Montreal-based producer & DJ Slick Shoota brings us Function, his debut LP and first solo release on the Teklife imprint. A native of Norway known for his renowned Oslo club night Ball Em Up, he's been a member of the elite crew since 2015, contributing tracks to the label's compilations such as On Life Vol. 2 and VIP Trax. Using a unique palate that combines both traditional footwork drums and eclectic otherworld sonics, this album expands on the signature sound he's been brewing during the course of his career, celebrating his longtime love of the Chicago soundscape, with a healthy helping of UK rave, jungle, and vibes from other fast paced club realms. Slick starts the record off with Hovercraft, a big burly mutant rap beat riding a glowing titanic wave of jungle subbass, with vicious hi-hats stabbing through the mix. Desire Path follows with hysterical horns cruising along a stampede of erratic Chicago percussion. A glitchy, malfunctioning computer meets drumline stomps on See Me Flex, resulting in a psychotic, yet psychedelic sci-fi soundscape. Ultra-distorted hardcore kicks open up Jellyneck, dropping straight into a dungeon of ghostly vocals and headlong toms. Warehouse 2K opens up the B-side with R&B chops and lasers floating on a charming cloud of pulsating pads. Mad doppler sirens loop around your head on Delahaze, as distant clangs and crashes fight an impatient, throbbing bassline. Classic rave atmospheres are met with Slick's elegant sound design on MTL Hardcore, his ode to his adoptive city. The album closes off with Special Tek, channeling the signature quirky drum sounds of the late DJ Rashad over a pounding, fast paced house beat, a wonderful nod to the Windy City and its influential sonic culture. Carving out his own sound from the legacies of Chicago, the UK, and other underground club hotspots, Slick Shoota has found his own recognizable voice within these realms of dance music, and this LP serves as documentation of that solidified voice. Years of studying the masters and immersing himself with their work has clearly paid off, and he's respectfully taking these sounds he loves in exciting new directions. Bridging gaps both historical and geographical, Function marks a pivotal point in his career, and is clear evidence that Slick Shoota is vital member of the legendary Teklife family.

“Dive / 4AM” is the latest outing from San Francisco Bay Area-based six-piece, The Seshen. The 7” outlines thesteps the group has made since their critically acclaimed sophomore album in 2016, both as a band and as individuals. “Since ‘Flames & Figures', a lot has been taking place both internally and externally. We were on tour for the last album when Trump was elected. There was an intense heaviness, a familiar one, one that extends generations and it just sunk in even further”, singer/lyricist Lalin St. Juste explains.

Side A opens with distorted four-to-the-floor chomper, “Dive”. Aggressive yet danceable, gritty but somehow unstoppable, “Dive” is inspired the profound need for change, catalysed through the somnambulant Larry Heard-esque bassline meshed to the warped tones of Lalin’s vocals. “The path towards my power, my strength, being okay with being unapologetic is just starting. I’m reclaiming what I have lost, reclaiming what has been passed down to me. The song is about the ground beginning to shake”, Lalin preaches.

While in contrast on side B, “4AM” untethers the listener by exploring a sense of spaciousness, flourishing the sparseness, distracting with moving snippets of delicate production. Lyrically tackling the insomniacs waking nightmare, “4AM” is about the witching hour, battling against oneself. "I was experiencing anxiety at night...where I would review all my actions and all the things I said throughout the day in search of something that I did wrong. At times it would keep me up, and I felt that I was at war with my mind.”

It’s been long overdue but finally No Moon is back on X-Kalay and we are HYPED. A lot has changed in the three years since his debut on the label but Fred’s ability to turn in forward thinking and original electro definitely has not. This latest effort is the work of an exciting producer on the rise.

Opening the A side “CPU Limit 99” is full of jungley skittish breaks, acid bass and off kilter rhythms. By the time we hear the voice of Agent Smith creeping out in the first break we could be forgiven for casting our minds back to Metalheadz circa 2002. Next up, “Aoe_Rushin” is the pick of the bunch for us and continues The Matrix theme, albeit less explicitly, via a full on bonkers trip of searing acid, razor sharp drums and smashed up vocals.

On the flip Adam Pits switches up “Aoe_Rushin” into a pacey 4x4 club joint utilising some expansive arrangement and lovely speed garage-esque bass. Closing things out, title track “Set Phasers to Stun” winds things back and rounds up with a deep and meditative cut of melodic electro.

The third release of ninih is by none other than Australia-based electronic producer Andy Rantzen. Bringing his most dancefloor friendly EP as of yet. A-side for trancing ~ B-side for dancing. All tracks stem from the late 90’s/early noughties giving this EP it’s ravey vibe in typical dubby Rantzen fashion.

Coloray's Real Life Cinema infuses powerful, unpolished sound aesthetics with relentless energy. After cutting his teeth on both the Dutch and international DJ circuit, and nurturing his production skills as member of the Tunnelvisions duo, Raynor de Groot his solo project Coloray translates an inwards desire to create and explore off the beaten path, and does so with a compelling ‘80s attitude.

This strong backbone in musical undertaking, together with his background in songwriting and vocal work, transmits a unique sound that drifts somewhere between the hazy lines of contemporary electronics and early EBM.

Barking´s productions are expressive live sets stem from his background in live instrumentation and improvisation. The Berlin-based Australian artist delivers on Openthenext label a forward thinking EP that is equally suited for advanced dance floors and home listening sessions.

Raised on Colombia's Caribbean coast and united by it's capital, Bogota, Ghetto Kumbé combine the rich musical heritage of their home, to invoke the spirit of digital rumba in audiences all over the world. The secret behind their irresistible electronic sound lies in their powerful percussion base; Caribbean house beats and traditional afro-Colombian rhythms inherited from West Africa. Forever and a day, Antonin Leymarie has drummed in a pack – be it his collective Magnetic Ensemble, Surnaturel Orchestra, the circus of Les Colporteurs or theatre of Joël Pommerat. A long time in the waiting, this solo project as Hyperactive Leslie all started with an epiphany during a residency at La Gare back in 2018. A couple of years later and al.ɡo.ʁitm has finally surfaced for air, the debut EP from this seasoned percussionist gone solo without a safety net – everything you hear on this EP is played by him with no re-recordings or additional sounds. Counterchange bossman Ed Davenport returns from his Inland guise for a thumping twist of 'Red Lemon' that's equal parts pneumatic and aquatic, while Man Power breaks down the original groove to its bare-naked acid line and rebuilds it with a
crushing analog hook, off-beat timpani and a host of subtle trippy textures.

Such Luxury Records exists to release music that is about feeling first and functionality second. This release from Des Meegan wholly embodies this ethos. The opening track—“Heat”— features punchy and uplifting synth chords over a Latin-inspired rhythm. The thick synth bassline dances between the drums to create the groove and London musician Matt Sluys contributes film noir-esque saxophone lines to complete this tense tale of sexy, urban twilight.

The A2 further pushes things onto the dance floor, albeit at a lower bpm. The entire track floats on a looping filtered guitar riff. The EP opens with the aptly titled Storm Of Steel. An industrious cold front brimming with metallic clangs and resonant tubes. You can hear lightning strikes in the snares and thunder in the bass. In Frozen Sword, the tropes synonymous with this trilogy are neatly tied together again as D.K. opts for glass tubes, gated snares and deep rhythmic baselines. This second track is an epic battle song, conjuring Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon / quasi-Matrix fight scenes.

Racing the clock to crack the code in Code Breaker, alarm sirens sound off in the background as if D.K.’s plans have been foiled. It’s not until a flute motif at 4:14 that you realise our protagonist, all along, had an ace up his sleeve. The EP’s closing and title track Rising is a melancholic/euphoric dance between D.K.’s warrior’s emotions of what was won, but also what was lost.

For our second release we follow up with something special from Dutch duo D&S. Here they present 4 live jams from Deeper electro tinged sonics to something a little more jacking and on to something stunningly emotive.....perfect for differing times of the day and night.

Everything has its right moment in space and time. And Rhode & Brown’s debut album “Everything in Motion” is no exception to this rule.

But first things first:
Hailing from Munich, Germany, Friedrich Trede and Stephan Braun are the DJ and producer duo Rhode & Brown. Growing up in two neighbouring villages near Munich both of them had been music enthusiasts since their early childhood. Friedrich played drums in punk bands at school and recorded rap songs in his bedroom, while Stephan, as childhood friend of Harold Faltermeyer's son, had the chance to experiment in the impressive studio of the legendary Donna Summer producer in his early teens.

By the late 2000s older friends started supplying them with DJ mixtapes and helped them sneak into clubs they weren’t allowed to visit, yet – cultivating their love for electronic music and club culture. And, of course, the Internet was their go-to source for finding the latest blog house tunes back then, too.

It wasn’t until October 2009 that their paths would cross for the very first (but almost last) time when introduced by a mutual friend: Back then Stephan was selling his old CDJ-player and Friedrich, who wanted to hone his DJ skills, ended up buying it: „When I got home and unpacked the player I realized that it was the wrong model. I thought Stephan was trying to rip me off - so I called him in a rage and demanded my money back.“ Friedrich laughs. To cut a long story short, the two met again the same evening, money and CD-players were exchanged, but luckily so was their passion for house and disco music. It was at that very moment that Rhode & Brown was born.

A lot has happened since the two played their first gigs together and made baby steps in music production. In the past 10 years they established themselves as one of the most reliable house producers around with rock solid releases on Toy Tonics, Shall Not Fade, Public Possession or their own Slam City Jams imprint. As well as becoming a household name in the DJ world, sharing the booth with the likes of Palms Trax, Dam Swindle, Jamie Tiller or Octo Octa - spreading their infectious "Dancing Deejays" vibes around the globe.

Following the great reception of last years „Aku Aku“ EP, June 2021 will see the release of Rhode & Brown’s debut album on Permanent Vacation. A record that showcases their open minded approach to making music and a passion for the nuances between genres - „We found inspiration for this album in all corners of our record collection. That means we are as much influenced by disco or 80s synth-pop as by house and techno of the last decades or the latest viral trap hit on Spotify“, the guys say.

On "Everything In Motion" you'll hear piano house / Italo disco hybrids alongside dreamy Balearic soundscapes and '90s-infused acid breakbeats flawlessly accompanying '80s synth pop anthems. Always infused with that signature Rhode & Brown magic. The album also finds them collaborating with some of the finest vocalists of the moment: Peaking Lights' own Indra Dunis is lending her voice to the title track for this special laid back California vibe, while Berlin's hottest export DJ City evokes a neon light romance affair on "Memory Palace", with a longing poem that makes you wander the rainy streets at night with your walkman on.

Toronto based producer Cosmic JD signs Varme's fifth release with an EP titled “Plant Algebra” - an incursion into his vast sonic spectrum, ranging from steady 4/4 club oriented tunes to breakbeats and electro inspired musical themes.

With his deep musical education, Daniel Varga produced under many pseudonyms (Soda), (Borneo und Sporenburg), (Cybordelics) formed in Stuttgart in 1993, (REWORK) or by Toni Mono released on F Communications in 1995, a disc that haunted the dancefloors of the time. Besides countless releases of his compositions, and numerous remixes, he has also contributed to the music of numerous film projects. One of the favourite discs of the founders of the label.

Manifattura Tabacchi is a former cigar and cigarette production site that is having a renaissance thanks to an innovative urban regeneration project.

Back in June, the Bosconi Records crew rocked up there for a live hardware jam session featuring an array of musicians from the label including Fabio Della Torre on the mixer and Dukwa, Ennio Colaci, Herva, Mass Prod, Rufus, The Clover on the instruments with the special participation of A Guy Called Gerald.

Now comes the record with the exceptional results all pressed to wax.The selected tracks follow the order of execution which has naturally developed in a crescendo from 130 to 180 BPM, and then closes by slowing down with a take at 110BPM.

Opening up the EP is ‘130 - Tuning’, which is cosmic house music with freeform jazz synth lines that take you into the next dimension. ‘138 - Gang Up' is harder hitting, with punchy drums and lithe sci-fi synth lines darting in all directions. 138 - Swinging’ explores a broken beat style with spinning hi hats and intergalactic funk of the highest order. ‘150 - Snappy’ then picks up pace with corrugated drum lines and twanging guitars freaking you out, and ‘180 - Blowing’ is a hyper-driven experiment with old school dusty jungle beats and gloopy synths while ‘110 - Offhand’ is a deeper, more thoughtful track with whispered vocals and a dreamy vibe.

This is adventurous electronic music that goes well off grid, plays with strange temps, weird textures and occult moods and is utterly original as a result.

As Fabio Della Torre, Corcos last solo release on his much-respected Bosconi label came out in 2012. Almost seven years later, Della Torre reprises the alias here, returning to his home label in stunning fashion courtesy of the sumptuous, brilliant and always innovative sounds of Bosco042.

We kick off with 'What's the Case', a hypnotic, minimal wiggler that maintains a strong after-hours vibe throughout the course of its 7-and-a-half minutes. A trippy voyage into the producer's more restrained and foreboding side, it's a slick, sleek excursion that's full of multiple twists and turns throughout. Weird but most definitely wonderful, it's sure to go down a treat with discerning DJs especially, with its swinging groove sure to prove a particular treat.

The B side then kicks off via 'Down on Time', an unrelenting, jacking cut that's indicative of the early work of minimal techno pioneer, Robert Hood. A jacking, booty-shaking jam that features more than its fair share of oldschool vibes, this track is indicative of a side that the producer rarely showcases — but one that he's evidently more than capable of showcasing. Rough, ready and most definitely effective, it features the Bosconi owner at his up-tempo best.

'Monster Knight' culminates the EP courtesy of an uplifting, electro-inspired jam that's catchy and banging throughout. Notable for its elastic baseline and flashy, rhythmic elements, it brilliantly closes a fantastically eclectic EP that demonstrates three sides of the producer's sound in some fashion.

Coming to the table with a fresh mutant sound, Darker Than Wax is proud to welcome Leeds-based artist Captain Over to our sonic universe with his Deep Blue EP. A solo project from one of the minds behind the band Paper Tiger, Captain Over represents a firm focus on dancefloor experimentation, blending the sounds of grime, broken beat, house, and LA beat music to create an entirely new beast. Much like the chess-playing supercomputer of the same name, ‘Deep Blue’ occupies a space between electronic weight and the human touch, fusing together icy digital synths borrowed from grime with off- kilter grooves and jazzy motifs.

Following a string of releases led by vocal tracks with grime MCs, ‘Deep Blue’ is the first fully instrumental offering from Captain Over, lending the artist a platform to make a strong statement about his creative vision and technical prowess. From the expansive arrangement of ‘4D’ to the duelling sci-fi synths on ‘Mind’s Eye’, the Deep Blue EP is a deeply creative yet functional record, signalling a bright future for the Captain Over project.

Mat Playford brings his ethereal, techno soundscape to Carl Cox and Christopher Coe's Awesome Soundwave imprint. Taken from his forthcoming album on the label, Playford invites Detroit dons Octave One to provide the remix.

Already being supported by the legendary Carl Cox in his DJ sets, Kic 8462852 takes its name from a celestial object that was discovered a number of years ago. The original mix of the track is every bit as otherworldly as its namesake. It's a techno escapade into the outer realms with dreamy and melancholic synths, and pulsating drum pads that push it ever forward. Octave One take the track even further into techno orbit, stripping back some elements and giving full focus to that pounding bass line.

Mat Playford's love affair with music began from a very early age. His long and illustrious career has seen him earn not one but two DJ Mag Best Of British nominations as well as holding down a residency for iconic Ibizan brand We Love Space for more than half a decade. 2019 will see Playford forge ahead with his third studio album, Solar, also signed to Awesome Soundwave, and perfecting his live show that will incorporate a dizzying abundance of synthesizers set into a table hand carved out of a fallen tree, found and crafted by Playford himself.

Octave One need little introduction. The irrepressible force of brothers Lenny and Lawrence Burden have produced timeless hits that soundtracked a generation. They've released a slew of club hits on their own 430 West imprint as well as Underground Resistance and Derrick May's Transmat.

Drexciya might need an introduction for some, for others it is the most influential techno/electro project ever. Part of the heritage of Detroit's Underground Resistance, Drexciya explored techno music like no-one else before.
Raw and uncompromising music that reflects the harsh environment of the city where Drexciya was conceived. The aesthetics and the mythical approach combined with the unique music made this one of the biggest cult projects in techno music. Drexciya arguably stands for the darker side of techno and electro, music not only made for the club scene, but a further development of the music as an expression and extension of the mind. 20 years after the release of ''Deep Sea Dweller'' (their first release), and 10 years after ''Grava 4'' (their last), here's ''Journey Of The Deep Sea Dweller''. This series is an almost complete collection of their early works, and is remastered from the original master tapes. Since the original releases have such a strong character, appeal and stand on their own, this re-issue can never re-create the magic of those originals. So instead the catalogue is stirred up, taking the tracks out of their original context, giving the 'in the know' listener a fresh experience and the new listener a document that is the best possible introduction to the aquatic world of Drexciya.

Percebes starts 2021 by releasing the label honcho’s brand new “Gestures Of Release” LP: a highly personalised universe that manages to display diversity whilst retaining a unique sense of coherence. UFC Records back with their second release with a four tracks Ep produced by label´s co-ower R.I.P. Bestia. The four tracks are original tracks produced between 2020 and 2021 years. Side A of this EP contains two tracks more oriented for the dance floor, like "Chordal Constellations" where the psychedelic electronic of the 90's is fused with the minimal sound of the first 2000's and "VCO Ray”, where vocoder vocals are mixed with deep techno lines.

On the other side the Ep opens with "Khae!”, psychedelic breakbeat-techno accompanied by ethereal vocals, to finish with "VCO HardCore Foundation", a piece of breakbeat influenced by the Nu Skool Breaks that ends in an acid and breaks explosion.

Two versions of the title track come on the A side. The original is an easy track, light percussive with thin strings and saxophone. 'Hushees' on the same side is a remix from the original and has a more straightforward beat and prominent bassline. The flip sees a remix by the Koomba project ( Reggie Dokes and Scott Ferguson). In January 1985 The Beloved emerged via a John Peel session (Produced by a very young Mark Radcliffe). They had a second session broadcast in October and didn't release their first single, A Hundred Words, until early 1986.
On the independent Flim Flam label they released a further 3 singles/eps , later compiled as an album, Where It Is.
By autumn 1987 they had slimmed down from 4-piece to the original founding duo of Jon Marsh & Steve Waddington.
Jon went to NY to pursue some label interest, meet some heroes - Mantronik, Latin Rascals.
& came back with a record box full of early house cuts. Within weeks he was tipped off by a friend about a semi-secret party in a gymnasium in Bermondsey. He went searching and found Shoom.
Having already shared the record box with Steve he took him to the club within a few weeks, knowing full well he would be equally enthused/entranced!
Having just been signed to WEA , notionally as a poster-fodder pop group, the band experienced a seismic shift in direction. Their first attempt , Acid Love, was on promo 12' within months. Their second house track was Your Love Takes Me Higher, first released in early 1989 with great club support but zero radio play.
The third was Sun Rising, late summer that year which became their first hit single.
The album, Happiness, a distillation of the fun & optimism & energy of the 88/89 (acid) house scene was released in 1990 to great acclaim and YLTMH even got a second release and just scraped into the top 40 at #39!
A remix album, Blissed Out, was released In autumn 1990, with a new recording It's Alright Now as a single.
Awoke is the most complete track from their last collaborative sessions.
Jon continued recording as The Beloved with his wife Helena as co-writer/co-producer.
Their first release in early 1993 was the single Sweet Harmony which was a major hit record worldwide.
Both single and the accompanying album Conscience were their biggest selling releases.
A further album X, with the single Satellite arrived in 1996.
A re-released Sun Rising and a best-of, Single File in 1997.
Then silence.
Remixes as The Beloved, several releases under different names (on Junior Boys Own, & NRK), and a full time dj career until 2005/6.
Still silence.

Mathias Modica's "Sonic Rohstoff" is the new album on Berlin-based label Kryptox Music, Toy Tonics' and Gomma Records' sub label for new forms of Jazz & Electronica. Over the past two decades, Mathias he has made a name for himself by discovering and breaking new talent and styles of music. He produced albums with James Murphy and Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem, Peaches, Asia Argento, The Rammellzee and WhoMadeWho just to name a few. The album is a journey through abstract downtempo vibes, lofi jazz and futuristic electronica. This is Modica's first album under his own name, following three albums under his monikers Kapote and Munk. All instruments are performed by Modica himself, embellished by guest musicians from the new Berlin Jazz scene. Most people might know Modica from his earlier works as a producer, keyboard player and founder/ creative mind behind Toy Tonics, Gomma and Kryptox.

Splendid album, a melt of electrpo trance and techno. Sweet tunes !
