With a prolific output of such a consistently high standard many do not realise that Art Of Tones has never released a solo artist album, but with this new LP on Local Talk that is soon to change.

“77 Astro Black” by Drummotive is a rich blend of old and new. An opulent synthesis of 1970s jazz fusion and modern-day unconventional house. Serene strings and delicate keys bind together creating an elegant beauty full of freedom, space and texture as the steady drum rhythm provides direction and structure.

Returning to a brief but very fruitful period in electronic music production, Shelved Recordings exists to look back to the golden age of the remix, with a clear view of the future it imagined.

Artists who were steered towards maverick producers, with a view to changing the rules, to re-defining the terms of what modern music should and could be.
Pioneering techniques, over-dubs and an exploratory period of pop production, resulted in many lost dub versions and mixes. Mixes, which invariably were left on the shelf, deemed too 'out there' by the bosses of the the hedonistic label managers who commissioned them.

Shelved will present a series of limited double 12" releases comprised of carefully reconstructed and rebuilt lost classics from someone who was there the first time around !

Hot off the press comes a brand-new label from veteran of the scene, Stefano Ritteri, showcasing his trademark love for obscure samples and synthesiser exploration.

The title track is a sumptuous amalgamation of analogue synths, far-reaching, left leaning samples and crisp-as-you-like drum programming. It's weird and wonderful - enticing you deeper and deeper with every added element, from the wonky glitches, to the fuzzed out, Middle Eastern guitar and exotic vocals refrains.

Take to the B side and you're hit with a rhythmic workout combining modular electronics, sci-fi infused samples and intergalactic synthwork. Rounding off the e.p. 'It isn't about that' is a downtempo beatsy number, laced with dubbed out effects and an introspective monologue about the merits of music as medium of expression.

A new journey has begun: Propersound Records.

Luca Venezia, aka Curses, has with his Carcassonne-Mini LP, written and produced a cold wave dream filtered through how all the sci-fi movie soundtracks of the eighties should have sounded like; picture The Cure on a study visit in John Carpenters studio in 1983.

This six-track Mini LP is Curses first release on Hoga Nord Rekords and you can place his music beside other artist in the HNR artists stable, like Jamie Paton and Pardon Moi - eighties influenced dark and expensive sounding electronic music. Luca Venezia also solves the task of putting vocal elements in the tracks with sharpness and precision; the heavy processed reverberating overdubs float in and out on a tastefully low level in the mix.

Outside the safe studio walls the discourse is polarised and dumbed down to headlines and introductions, to guttural noises and simplification. Curses music is part of your antidote to this regression and is nor black or white nor simple or safe.

The illusive Nelson of the East reappears with his forthcoming EP Phase Alternating Lines – a first class two-tracker.

The Swiss-born, Milanese artist released his first EP Night Frames just last year, making a strong entrance on Tartelet Records. This time around, N.O.T.E explores 80s electro boogie with ‘Phase Alternating Lines’ on the A side, and delivers his very own take on obscure tribal house with “Burning Palm” on the B side.

N.O.T.E is young, thirsty, and dead serious about his music. His admirable work ethic shows off not only in his own releases but also in his collaborations with other artists. In the past year alone, he has produced for Wayne Snow and several others that are keeping their work under wraps – while simultaneously creating music as N.O.T.E and under his Verner moniker. All the hard work seems to be paying off on this new 12’, where he comes through with two outstanding dance-floor bombshells.

If you’re into the 80s, Beverly Hills Cop, or just sad that you missed out on Studio 54, you’re going to love EP opener, “Phase Alternating Lines”. It’s got it all: hot drum programming, an electric boogie bassline and a cheeky melody that sticks. “Burning Palm” takes us into obscure tribal-meets-afro-house territory, utilizing percussion, synth marimba and hypnotic melodies – all held together in a tight, driving groove. This track is exotic at its root and perfect for any late night outdoor activity. Both tracks come as extended edits for the vinyl release.

This is a limited-edition release of 400 copies, written and produced by N.O.T.E, arranged by N.O.T.E in close collaboration with Tartelet Records’ label head Dirk 81 and mixed at Panalama Studios in Copenhagen on the Neve 5088 Shelford console for good measure.

We've got hold of the very last existing stock of Rama NYC's Stillwell label second release by Rub800. Originally released a couple of years ago, and self-distributed by the label itself, it was predominantly available in the US and only a few copies appeared in Europe, making it still an in demand item on discogs.

Bedroom Tapes is comprised solely of lost material from a recently discovered box of cassettes that emerged in the process of a house move. These tracks capture some of Paul Woolford’s most wide-eyed and naïve creative impulses at a tender age.

Seemingly lost forever, some were part of sessions that led to him being signed to now-defunct UK techno imprint Blue Basique. This is the first chapter in this archive and an intimate portrait of the artist at a key stage of his creative development.

The tracks have been carefully mastered with a loving hand by Matt Colton who has been meticulous to retain their idiosyncrasies.

'Growing up in the 80's opened doors to the imagination. Like many of us, I watched a lot of music videos just when cable television was on the rise. It introduced me to a new way of storytelling - and because of that, I've always liked the idea of cinematic concepts and visual movement.' Ron Trent's 30+ year oeuvre has encompassed many genres of dance music with a signature, cinematic sound - organic, powerful, and emotive. His new EP WARM treads surprising territories, which to the listener may encompass unexpected influences, while maintaining that sense of space and narrative.

Balearic opener On A Journey feels equal parts Cluster and Yo La Tengo, with kosmische guitar and elastic bass entwining around a strutting drum line, while closer Exhale is a slow, heavy number with New Age and soft rock overtones, pairing natural percussion with subdued bass and deep, emotive guitar. Night Ride has the most familiar sound to listeners - those piano lines, synths, chord progressions, and earthy vocal refrains and percussion - sounding like a long lost production finally seeing the light of day.

Ave Berlin collective AWAY ready the 4th release in their catalogue. With 001 on the label being a VA, 002 being an EP from Joe Claussell & Mr.Ties as AWAY Soundsystem and 003 being a second VA - they now present a split 2-tracker from label mainstay Move D and his pairing with Jonah Sharp under their collaborative guise of Reagenz. Whilst keeping an anchor at Berlin's About Blank, AWAY have hosted parties at numerous other venues across the city as well as Barcelona and throughout have maintained a welcoming and free spirited attitude. Harnessing this attitude and channeling the collective's Detroit influences, AWAY have developed their imprint which has so far taken shape over a set of 3 analogue-heavy VA's. Next in line follows suit in melding tough drums with Motor City pads. Natural in their progression, both tracks spark ardour as they steadily develop adding another fine addition to a blooming catalogue.

'Energy Success' is an immense construction. An intense narrative with full suspense and release through its bewildering staccato synth riff, this drives and drives until you don't think it can twist any further... Only to find it does.

'Ways' takes us even deeper into Luis's cosmic universe as a beautiful humanoid texture provides the lead while big washes sweep in the background. Gently rising with layers of positivity and musicality, there's bewildering magic laced deep into the soul of the track... Something that label boss Super Flu complement in a completely flipped way with the remix. Taking the chords and building them around tightly plucked instrumentation, there's a pensive sense of drama running throughout.

Elsewhere 'Reality' is every bit the jolt its name suggests. Strident, pulsating with a theatrical edge, this lives in its own lane. A true 1am level-raiser, this is the quintessential 'no-turning-back' track when the late night massive slip into top gear.

After a lengthy hiatus from the label, Melbourne's best kept secret Booshank returns with a highly anticipated four tracker, featuring a contribution from Japanese artist Gonno. Tumultuous beat tracks meet detailed synthesis to form the signature sound we've come to love and expect from the mystery man.

In "operating with a blown mind" Booshank has manifested the energy and intricacy of his previous fantasies on Butter Sessions, Domestic Documents, Unthank and his own newly formed imprint Couch Acid. A hybrid of club ready cruisers and dreamy mind-melting ambience that could soundtrack a nightclub experience in an alternate reality or a low-key arvo in the sun.

Another kicks off 2018 with its first release. We are very happy to welcome Kenneth Scott (from the former duo Moniker) who
delivers a stunning 3 tracks EP with a deep electro and deep house feel. Straylight feat Dave Aju has been remixed brillantly
by the one and only Kai Alce. Analog warm textures and efficient grooves all along this ethereal masterpiece.

Platform 23 returns with the reissue of songs from Canadian project, Vini Vidi Vici. With just one privately pressed mini-album in 1989 that bridged the gap between the later years of New Wave and the early vestiges of House, the music included in this edited EP highlights a thriving Montreal scene in its heyday.

Vini Vidi Vici was created out of two different music backgrounds. Paul Klopstock was a classical pianist, while Mario Langlois was a DJ, self-taught musician and radio producer, who came together when both worked at the underground arts / club Le Lezard. Starting in 1986 the space mixed painting, drag shows and bands alongside the latest alternative sounds, from Rap to New Beat, Electro to Acid Jazz.

As House and Techno started to filter through, Mario (aka Ave Mario) and the other resident DJs laid the ground of what was to come. From this Paul and Mario collaborated from late 1987 through in to 1988 and created the mini-album, however this EP concentrates on the duo's self penned work.

Recorded at Oliver Sudden Production studio, the A side is made up the raw House of 'Club Stuff" and Native American meets avant percussion of 'Vini Vidi Vici'. Showing a confidence and experimentation beyond their years, the two tracks production and all round hypnotic danceability, highlight why original copies are so prized (and expensive).

The B side follows with two tracks recorded in Mario's home closet studio. Lo-fi to the max and improvised, the no wave / world beat experience of title cut, 'Ou Sommes Nous' and the proto-electro-wave of 'AA HHH' are like something again, a mesmerising fusion and quite unique.

Self pressed, the project ventured to live performance and (sadly unreleased) remix work, before the partners went their separate ways, however this archival document can be seen as their own special conquest.

Marius Circus retuns to his own In The Garden label with his cover version of Lindstrom’s
‘I Feel Space’, backed with an Andrew Weatherall remix.
Norway’s Marius Circus has been steadily building stream over the past few years, starting out
with a release on Prins Thomas’ Full Pupp in 2011 before 2017 saw him launch his own In The
Garden label, picking up support on releases from the likes of Perel, Axel Boman, Jennifer
Cardini and Ivan Smagghe amongst others.
Here though we see Marius deliver his interpretation of fellow Norwegian friend Lindstrom’s
classic ‘I Feel Space’, replaying and programming all the parts of the original whilst adding his
own twist via squelching 303 licks, choppy bass hits and crunchy drums.
Andrew Weatherall’s remix follows next, with gritty low-slung drums, spiralling atmospherics and
winding 303 licks driving the composition whilst the cinematic melodies of the original further fuel the
murky, hypnotic groove.

Leoparden's first appearance is a groovy 45 featuring the soulful uplifting 'Boliglan', and the funky moog jam 'Rist Skjelettet'.

A real treat for the dancefloor, presented in limited 7" form by Norwegian label Lyskestrekk Records!

We have taken our favourite tracks from various digital releases and present them on one vinyl 12" EP On the A side we take Nick J Smith's 'Waves Take Hold' from the Waves Take Control EP'
'Waves Take Hold', is a kaleidoscopic, life-affirming exercise in late 1980's style Italian Dream House, that's so warm and rush-inducing that it's likely to get the hairs on the back of your neck standing to attention.
Full of ricocheting drum machine hits, sun-bright lead lines, elongated chords and rich bass, it sounds like it was tailor-made to soundtrack sunrise in Rimini...

Bonnie & Klein 'Ocean Leap' taken from the Ocean Leap EP
There's a deeper and dreamier feel to the 'Ocean Leap' track, whose bubbly melodic motifs and synthesizer panpipe flourishes offer subtle nods towards 1980's Greek new age electronic composers such as Vangelis Katsoulis amd Dimitris Petsatakis.
Bonnie & Klein's synthesizer-heavy melodiousness comes accompanied by dub disco strength bass and undulating, off-kilter drums, but retains the rush-inducing bliss associated with the pioneering work of their Greek predecessors.

AA is given up to the 10 minute + track from Mirage: 'Endless Ocean' taken from their Reflections of the Sun EP.

'Endless Ocean' is a slowly building masterpiece. After a hushed, atmospheric opening, the track bubbles away on waves of hazy bongo beats, lapping water sounds and seductive chords before rushing skywards in a swarming swirl of trance-style synthesizer lead lines, echoing electronics and picturesque piano motifs.

Sébastien Léger delivers two solid originals and is backed up by Arjuna Schiks' trippy dreamy remix. Oracle has a French house sound to it characteristic of Léger with a Moroderesque arpeggio bassline. His excellent production skills shine brightest when he plays the keys in the second break. Trytosphere is a somewhat new direction for the Frenchman; a sunny track with a Balearic feel to it. A real summer soundtrack. Arjuna Schiks adds a trippy take on the original with a nice upbeat energetic groove layered on top of a spacey bell and synth soundscape which echoes in the background.

2019 marks thirty-five years that DJ PIERRE has been DJing and creating acid house music. This seven-part series of 35 remixes of ACID TRACK by PHUTURE is a celebration of the first monumental record for DJ Pierre and the spark for a new genre and movement in dance music history.

“35 - 001” will be the first volume in this series and will feature 5 remixes from KiNK, Bloody Mary, Paco Osuna, Analog Kitchen, and Beyun.

Alex ‘Kiwi’ Warren’s passion for music has been a fire that has long burned within. With acclaimed releases on Disco Halal, Optimo and others, Kiwi’s work has earned him a wealth of support from some of the scenes biggest names such as Andrew Weatherall, DJ Harvey and Gerd Janson. He now joins Edinburgh’s Paradise Palms for the latest instalment of their highly regarded 7” series which has previously seen groovy, off-beatofferings from Tom Blip and Justin Robertson.

You Want Her To is a playful, low slung stomper featuring a slowed-down House beat, pads and a catchy oddball chant from Warren himself. Peeling Oranges ups the NRG and uses an Italo-strength arpeggiated bassline to great effect, resulting in a peak time electronic Disco smash. Both tracks feature alternative 7” and digital mixes.

After a short hiatus Phonica Records revives its deep-house focused Karakul imprint for Harry Wolfman's new 12" 'The Ritual'!

Having produced a dozen 12's for labels such as Dirt Crew, Omena and Outplay, Harry has been honing his craft for the best part of a decade and you can hear how his sound has refined over the past few releases, reaching new heights with this latest record for Karakul.
'SMBC' kicks the 12" off in a laid-back style with its woodwind and brass samples complimenting bright pads and drums, reminiscent of MCDE, while the mellow and sultry 'Eva' is up next.

On the flip 'Obi 1' takes things up a notch both in tempo and energy, working around a lo-fi drum loop and cunningly filtered bassline.
Strings come to the fore halfway through making this a real uplifting gem, the mixture of instrumentation bringing to mind early Pepe Bradock.
Finally 'The Ritual' rounds out the record in a mesmerising way, slowly introducing more and more elements and stirring the pot before fading out again.

300 Degrees is a solo project by Lithuanian producer Audrius Vaitiekunas dedicated to the sound of classic Roland analogue machines.

After featuring on their last year's Evidence Found No.1 compilation under his IJO alias, Audrius delivers his first album-length release for Little Beat Different.

300 Degrees' lush, drifting chords are delicately hung in space and drawn forward by thrumming acid melodies. As the album travels on, these propulsively beatless visions coalesce into cold, reverb-drenched deep house, dive into dank, slo-mo electro, and perform warmly melancholic echoes of rave and IDM.

Sound-wise the deepest release so far on this label will finally see the light of day in May on digital and cassette tape.

Crump returns to Chris Farrell's label with two deep, dubby and swung minimal house tracks

Mijo -aka La Royale, aka one half of Moon Runner and many more- is back!
It's been a busy couple of years for Mijo. Countless remixes, productions, tours, multiple releases as well as taking care of his excellent record labels Disque Discos and Electrique Music.
With simplicity and strength, title track Próximo Berlín has become one of the head tracks of the new Latin American techno sound, one that Mijo helped define with his side projects Moon Runner and La Royale.
Próximo Berlín has a very impressive remix from Rex The Dog, who delivered a stunning, seven minute long, techno rollercoaster. 110%.
B-Sides Cheaptron and Circulate are also some of our favorite Mijo tracks ever. The simplicity and magnetism of those rhythms shake bodies insistently.

The ever-charming UK based pop power trio – Patawawa released their funky indie dance jam on Kraak & Smaak's label Boogie Angst'. Stepping up on remix duties is Hot Toddy, a name synonymous with quality in the UK disco, house and dance scenes. One of the founding members of Crazy P, both his work with that project and his releases under his solo moniker have never been short of excellent. There is no denying his pedigree in the genre and has once again assembled two absolute fire-starting reworks.

Maintaining the catchiness and instant glittery likability of the original, his mixes instead focus firmly on the club dancefloor with the 'Hot Toddy Disco Dub' clocking in at eight minutes and boasting more grooves than your local car-tyre dealership. It's still a bass led fiesta with disco vibes aplenty for your dancing pleasure. And for those that like their mixes a bit deeper fear not! There's the self-explanatory - 'Hot Toddy Deeper Dub' which is everything you'd want and more all neatly packaged in a dub mix.

Strategy returns to Chris Farrell's Idle Hands label for the first time since his 'Seeds Of Paradise' LP, and his first record of the year following releases for Nite Owl's Diner and Zam Zam's sister label Khaliphonic in 2018.

In welthistorischer Einmaligkeit erscheint auf dem Berliner Label Nonplace die erste ethnologische Edition der musikalischen Traditionen Zentraleuropas, am Beispiel Berlins der Gegenwart, zusammengefasst von Burnt Friedman. Nachdem House und Techno, oder Clubmusik, zum Kulturphänomen geworden war, und seit 30 Jahren bei festlichen Anlässen und fortwährend in allen Kulturstätten erklingt, wurde es Zeit für eine Aufarbeitung, für diese musikethnologische Bestandsaufnahme des kreativen Spektrum Berlins im Licht Zentraleuropas.

Bisher konnte der geneigte Hörer im Fach "Weltmusik" die entsprechenden Tondokumente finden, die einen direkten akustischen Einblick in Kultur und Tradition der seltensten Volksgruppen und entlegensten Landstriche geben konnten. Doch die Traditionen und Bräuche weisser Zentraleuropäer blieben bei diesen Bestandsaufnahmen nicht selten aussen vor. We're delighted to share this record from the Moscow-based recording artist OL aka Oleg Buyanov. His most recent work, the double LP "Height Difference" on the seminal Gost Zvuk label, saw him transmit his research in soviet sound heritage into a range of genres and tempos. On "Dismeteo", we see him inhabit a similar atmosphere, refracted through a different lens of influence. In Buyanov's own words, "The tracks are like concrete blocks & buildings lost in the woods. It's a point where correct geometry and mathematical constructions meet with organic forms.

Pedro Zopelar and Benjamim Sallum started jamming and performing live sets in São Paulo in 2016, when Ben was only 15 years old. At that time they where doing freaky improvised live perfomances in tribute to a popular youtube video called “My Girlfriend Is Programming The Roland TR-909, Making a House Beat”. Using that huge name the duo performed live before Theo Parrish at the RBMA festival in São Paulo 2017, and was the first that the track GIDI was played. In 2018 “My Girlfriend” releases their first record dropped by Subsubtropics, (a Brazilian label that previously released “Dreams”, “Design a Wave”, “Seixlack & Zopelar” and more).

The Apron EP is a compilation of My Girlfriend’s tracks there are more influenced by a Brazilian approach on neo-soul, house and funk. From the first raw jams to these particular vision from “what is Brazilian music from nowadays”, the duo represents a fresh sample about what is happening into the club music scene there. Benjamim Sallum is resident at the famous party “Mamba Negra” headed by Cashu and Laura Diaz (Teto Preto, Carneosso), and since his 15yo developed a fast progress on the art of making tracks and DJing. He runs his own label “OXI”, where he often drops some crazy cassettes EPs from himself and his friends. Zopelar is multi instrumentist, DJ and producer based in SP, responsible for the keyboards, synths and basslines of the record. He studied piano on his youth and made music college in rio with 18 yo. Based in SP after his studies till now, he runs another well known party named “ODD”, where Funkineven played in 2017 (both Rio and Sao Paulo editions) and knew all that crew.

The opening track “piercing”brings pads and strings recorded and manipulated on a MPC sampler with some dreamy lead synths on top. GIDI is a tribute to all the church keyboard players in the world. And there is also another tribute to a specific music school from late 70’s in Brazil called club da esquina (“B2 Corner Club”), headed by legendary singer and composer “Milton nascimento”, is a typical sound from Minas Gerais, State where Pedro was born and raised till his 17 years old.

Cybomotions is a collabo of omni causa and foreign sequence, after sending new trax back and forth for a few weeks they decided to release them. All freshly jammed works from the end of winter ‘19. Artwork by Mass Roman Art.

Solid minimal grooves by Dieru, with a rework from Romanian talent Bucurie for the third release of the Amsterdam based label Depth Over Distance. 300 unique versions with a mix between colored, marbled and transparant wax.

In 2017 Blair French came out of hibernation to release contrasting but similarly sun-kissed EPs on Rocksteady Disco and Claremont 56.

Here, he returns to action with a scintillatingly sunny and sensual six-tracker on NuNorthern Soul that may well be his strongest release to date.

Given French's chameleon-like musical history, that's certainly a bold claim.
Over the years, he's been a member of a multitude of musical collectives - most notably Cosmic Handshakes and Formless Figures - established his own DIY record label (Fat Finger Cosmic) and released music that touches on a dizzying array of styles, from award-winning movie soundtracks and Afro-fired deep house, to skewed techno, blissful ambience and experimental hip-hop.

On Patio Pastel, French is in full on sand-between-the-toes Balearic mood, delivering a range of lucid, ear-pleasing compositions that will sashay their way into your consciousness.
Contrast, for example, the drowsy organs, glistening pedal steel and undulating hand percussion of opener 'Patio Pastel' with the Serge Gainsbourg style chanson-goes-tropical bliss of 'La Playa De Tercipelo', which features some deliciously breathy vocals from Stephanie Lyon.

Then there's 'Morning Sail', a sumptuously evocative soundscape rich in toasty, dub disco bass, shuffling percussion and lilting, Jonny Nash style guitar solos (see also the effortlessly horizontal Lounsbury Gardens'), and the kaleidoscopic, saucer-eyed Balearic pop brilliance of ;'Human Make Human', where new age synthesizer melodies and the fuzzy vocal refrain of Kasi Seguin gentle dances above an Afro-flecked, mid-tempo groove.

Throughout the EP, French mixes electronic and acoustic instrumentation, drawing together musical elements from a myriad of styles to create sumptuous new fusions.
It's particularly evident on superb closer 'Belle Isle Sunsets', where colourful synth motifs, eyes-closed guitar riffs and Mediterranean-warm chords wrap themselves around a gently pulsating, impressively layered groove.
Like the rest of the EP, it's perfectly pitched, expertly executed and wonderfully atmospheric.

Marco Lazovic made a name for himself for sought-after releases on Lobster Theremin and Jungle Gym records. We are rather excited to welcome him on Beef with our first ever tape release. Ocean Voyage is a 6 track mini-album heavily influenced by 90ties electro, rave and breaks. The album is spiced up with a remix by Tel Aviv based artist Olsvangèr, proper tripped in - spaced out house rework (debuted at Boiler Room few months ago).

Cosmic Bridge welcomes back Margari’s Kid for his second EP "We Are Ghosts Now".

"We Are Ghosts Now" follows 2017 sellout label debut "Init 1" and two years on and now living in Bristol, Spanish producer José María Moya Sánchez has upped the ante further. Developed, deep and immersive; his unique 170bpm seekers music will continue to draw references to Burial and Instra:Mental / dBridge's Autonomic Drum & Bass but we'll pass you over to label head Om Unit to give you the full low down.

Om Unit - "Across the microcosms of Drum & Bass off shoots there are many sound-a-likes clinging to cliche'd references and rigid tropes; This only leads to a stale, repetitive and self referential culture and is why Margari's Kid supersedes his peers. Standing alone he creates deceptively beautiful and human tracks that while they feel simple, are in fact intricately layered with detail and emotion. These tracks are testament to the rich rewards achieved when a person injects a sense of real humanity into the often overly-technical domain of minimalism. As Margari's Kid, José María Moya Sánchez is is almost entirely leaning out of the pre-existing sphere of Drum & Bass and dancing in the rain on his own. This could be the beginning of something very special, and I think you should really pay attention."

Marvin Jupiter is an 18 year old artist who mainly makes hip-hop music, using bass lines as rhythms more associated with funk. He uses and creates the sound of the modern day interpretation of trap adding his own personal twist.

'Reach' is a rendition of the typical "house" genre including rhythms sampled from South American cultures, using current sounds from the "trap genre" even having a small section of a "trap/hip-hop" beat towards the end of the song.

On the B-side you can hear the boogie & funk through a dego & Lord remix

Second release from New York based label/party Frendzone. This compilation features two tracks from elusive label stalwart Ames Henry (with Paul Kav on A1.) + an experimental tech- breakbeat composition from seasoned Drum & Bass producer Fanu. Finished with straight up hardcore junglism from label veteran Octo Octa.

Originally released on Polychrome Sounds, "Elisabeta, the remixes" features a remaster of the original by Karpov not Kasparov and three truly unique and magnificent remixes.

The first one is Carrot Green, who gave the original the Brazilian Ritmo-treatment, with extra acid on top for a spicy touch. On the second remix, Belgian mastermind Strapontin created a smooth grooving tension-builder, slow rolling to a deep and beautiful introverted climax. Lastly, Pletnev took the atmosphere of the original and gave it a trippy ethnic-break beat twist, as only the Vilnius producer can do so well.

This edition features four, yes FOUR new members to our family, ON side A we welcome fresh new talent in the guis of Daif , real name Antonin Hifda, hails from France and is the head honcho at the great Luminaere Records, Dj's all over and has had releases on many labels,an amazing talent who we look forward to working with more. Ascot/WW, real name Matteo Pasini , comes from Milan Italy, and has played clubs such as Plastic,Rocket and the Dude Club. He has had releases on Ciao Records, and definitely a great addition to the Tone dropout family, and of course our main man Dawl , who needs no introduction,contributes to make up the TDO side.

Then side B , we welcome Alphonse and Jamie Blanco from LHT as well as many other fine labels. Alphonse, whose real name i am not allowed to tell you, has had releases aon several labels including hypercolour and class wrecks and dj's all over the world, currently been doing some gigs with sween - head honcho of Tone DropOut Records, at Houghton festival and in Croatia in 2019 and host parties called Dream Therapy, in London. Another great addition to our family. Then we have Jamie Blanco another real talent, who has been on the scene a long time with multiple releases and several guises with other labels and partners. Living in Melbourne, Australia at present, which shows how our sound has stretched across the world .

Track 1 - DAWL - Nebulon - Dawl kicks off this E.P with a Bleep tactic , bass driven break beat banger. typical dawl style now, that we all love and has made him such a star, at Tone Dropout Records.After the bleeps dawl adds some stabby warehouse synths , then kicks the driving bass back in with the breaks and bleeps, and a cheeky little sample from some obscure cartoon. not to be named ha ha . A real banger , in dawl tradition.

Track 2 - Daif - Soberman - then goes our first top gun, Daif comes at ya with a mesmerising bass line that sets the tone for this dance floor filler. Then come the bleeps and the strings in and out , highlighted by a soaring break beat ,and fat basslines . this man is hot talent , watch out .

Track 3 - Ascot/WW - Fifa98 - Here we go top gun number two, our new secret weapon Ascot/WW, offers ya a breakbeat and old rave synth , before breaking down with a rewind into a detroit bassline and haunting strings and bleeps, a real journey, and very cleverly produced another dance floor filler, and a man to watch out for.

Track 1 - Alphonse - Direct Transient - Alphonse kicks off with the sounds of the rain forsest , quickly backed up by a soaring james brown sampled break beat a real stomper, and some sweet strings, before banging into an amazing acid line with james brown stab rolling through.Ever changing ,with a great breakdown, really showing off his production skills.

A real rolla, with amazing beats and an acid line to kill for ha ha . Great work from this established talent.

Track 2 - Jamie Blanco - Acid Damage - Here the one and only Jamie Blanco gives us a straight up no messing in ya face acid banger. What more can i say, wicked 909 beats , big bass line and of course the acid going in and out up and down, ever changing and moving ,handclaps the lot, soaring high hats and snares , here we go .ACIEEEEEEEEED.

Track 3 - Bonus Tones Breaks 3 - Tones Breaks 3 carries on our new tradition of a little 3 min track on each ep, lots of samples and fun.

Tones 3 , kicks off with lots of scratching and a fierce break beat , and 'GO' sample , before changing with a bubbling bassline, and ripping break beat , then the inevitable bleeps and four four over breaks , this 3 mins of pure break beat chaos, just how we love it .

Colleagues in Japan provided us with sample product of the following audio artefact – file number ST015 – believing that it may be relevant to the Safe Trip Institute’s ongoing research in this area of study. After rigorous testing and analysis, we would like to offer the following observations:

• The artefact contains two related pieces of music, which appear to be the work of a high profile pseudo-scientist known as Hoshina Anniversary.

• If you listen carefully to the first piece, “Hakkenden I”, the first thing you will notice is how the lead electric piano line and repetitive electronic motifs – known in colloquial slang as “acid lines” – follow the same melodic pattern, as if Hoshina Anniversary was sending the same powerful psychokinetic instructions to a number of instruments at the same time.

• In contrast, “Hakkenden II” is darker and more hallucinogenic in tone. The use of restless, arpeggio-style bass and creepy-sounding chord sequences suggest that Hoshina Anniversary momentarily lost control of his psychokinetic powers before wresting back the initiative as the recording progressed (the return of the melodies and instrumentation heard in “Hakkenden I” in the second half of the piece supports these findings).

We invite colleagues the world over to analyze and test this audio artefact further in order to increase our understanding of this thought-provoking item and its unusual Japanese creator.

The leftfield electro disco gem originally released in 1982 with the rare 7" mix gets an official reissue.

In the fall of 2013 Maria Minerva mapped an 8-show United States trek up the west coast and across to Chicago but, being newly emigrated and without car or driver's license, needed a traveling companion who did. Given the grueling itinerary only one road warrior / joie de vivrist came to mind: dear friend, penpal, and SILK sister Chelsea Faith AKA Cherushii. The two covered over 3,000 miles together, performing in bars and towns not known for leftfield electronic patronage (i.e. VFW halls in Missoula, Montana). Though attendance was occasionally minimal they bonded deeply, in ways specific to arduous American DIY touring. In subsequent years the pair shared bills, traded tracks, and remained close - even playing live together a few times - yet the dream of a proper collaboration always loomed.

The tragic Oakland fire of December 2016 cut short such plans but not before they'd written, recorded, and mixed the better part of six songs. With the devoted assistance of David Last, Adam Gunther, and Brian Foote these recordings were posthumously polished and finalized and it's our heart-aching honor to share them with the world. Drawing on Minerva and Faith's most vibrant Venn diagram overlap, the tracks evoke mirror-lined music video sets, downtempo night drives, rainbow eyeshadow, glittering skylines, and sweaty discotheques, flowing from lush to lavish, highly finessed and full of feeling. It's the sound of true union, Faith's divine dancefloor DNA threaded through Minerva's chic pop hooks, rhythmic and revelatory, the best of both beautiful worlds. The collection closes with a swooning ambient edit by Glassell Park hardware-whisperer Leech, Maria's voice dubbed into a gauze of otherworldly emotion: 'I'm going astray.'

Taking reign over the A-side, Belfast export Hammer brandishes a weighty dose of low-slung, swollen bass and disorienting vocal stabs on 'Dance Since'. Using a palette of cathartic 90s house vocals he morphs their energy into something far more twisted.

For the B-side, Atlus forges an equally hefty fusion of raw percussion and swirling vocals, spun round by a dizzying acid bass lead.

Australia based Brit Jamie Blanco serves up Kilsha's superb second EP and capitalises once more on a fine recent run of form.

Blanco has previously released on Felix Dickinson's Cynic as well as Futureboogie and more recently on Pelvis & Tone Dropout. He is one half of Ess O Ess as well as a solo artist making waves with his wonderfully off kilter sounds, and has played all over the planet in the last couple of years. Eclectic in taste and inspired by Balearic beats as much as driving percussion and acid, he is all set for a busy 2019.

Right from the off, 'Unit of Pleasure' gets in your affections with its mix of original live recorded percussion, aircraft noise and hypnotic bass. It's a wilfully diverse mix of sounds and scenes that is utterly compelling. The excellent 'Progressive View' then dips into broken beat and classic electro territory, with raw synths and cavernous hits driving things forward over a rhythmic b-line.

Keeping up the unpredictable mood of the EP, 'Grapefruit Agenda' is a tripped-out piece of left of centre house music, with paranoid melodies and circling pads amping up the energy and taking you on a real journey. The superb 'XOX18' closes things out with downtempo electro moods that are futuristic and dystopian, all with an effective analogue edge.

These four tracks confirm Blanco is a fascinating artist with a fresh take on dance music and provide another superb instalment for the supremely promising Kilsha Music.
