Dublin based disco merchants Fatty Fatty Phonographics will soon be launching their Laser Guided Melodies side label with the first 12' by Berlin based trio kool thing.
Named after the Sonic Youth song, the band have been honing their sound on their current world tour with kindred spirits Austra - a dizzying blend of gnarled blues riffs and My Bloody Valentine-esque bliss married to the wild technoid pulse of their adopted city.
'Plan.Life.Go' is their signature tune, a hymn to the redemptive power of rock'n'roll and the first euphoric rush of new love, building up from a simple bluesy twang into a cinematic 21st Century sonic assault...
The package will also feature two remixes from two bright young Irish electronic things - a meditative, melancholic re-version by Toby Kaar and a warped, left of centre house take by REID.

Our second release is the first solo EP from Mia Dora, 'Romanticise'. Released digitally and on limited vinyl, this 4 track EP brings to life the Mia Dora sound, so carefully cultivated and realised over the last 12 months. Drawing on a range of influences, they bring together the warm, subtle tones of garage, the deep impact of driving house, tinges of
acid synths and the awkward hip hop inflected rhythms they are starting to make their own. Each track leaves something to be discovered with each listen, refusing to stand still and switching up as they go. Romanticise shows off the intricate and subtle approach Mia Dora take to club music, all the while making sure we can't help but dance. Artwork comes courtesy of Grampian Mountains and Swedish artist Andy King.

His 'Party Non Stop' is not only a trip down memory lane crossing paths of hip house as vocal version and early ravish bleep sounds as instrumental. It's first and foremost a house sound of now - with attitude. DJ QU, the man behind Strength Music, rounds up the EP with a healthy dose of drama with his epic raw remix.

Hollands FAH aka Robin de Bekker enters the scene with this heavy, braindance inspired five tracker. Opener 'Fine Space' is spooky and upbeat with false melodies fighting the tracks ground level acid bubbles. 'Bonus Orbits' starts off as a fast electronic harpsichord cut for a smart dance floor before turning into a hectic swamp of challenging harmonies. 'Sixears' is a shorter track holding the middle ground between a moody Elecktroids tune and hectic, Vibert-like acid. The EPs title track and centerpiece then, is characterized by rewinds, whistles, haunting melodies and a total lack of repetition; its a 9 minute long excursion into the most unreal part of Bekkers mind. FAH finally says goodbye with an eerie cut that sounds like a humming predator with no food to eat. FAHs first one for 030303 comes with appropriate, occultist artwork.

Musical mysteries from Macedonia are what Herzel and Genoveva bring us on this special Other Heights-project. Unity and eclecticism are melted together in one empowering EP, which is sealed with a remix by Alveol. Deeeep house!

The title track is a beatific cruise through stabs, chords, claps and slaps to a place where '90s house meets garage vocals, shutters
are raised and everyone dances happily ever after. 'Heartkey', on the other hand, shows a starchild at his sultriest. Chugging along

Rome's Egisto Sopor has been making little waves with his releases for quite a while now. As Polysick he's released a CDr album on Legowelt's Strange Life Records and a cassette on the much admired 100% Silk label. As TheAwayTeam he's released a DVD 'Relax & Sleep' and a CD 'Star Kinship' on Japanese label Maomoo, and is also one half of the low key video unit AAVV, whose work has graced many of the important releases of the new lo-fi electronic movement. 'Digital Native' is his first proper album, 15 tracks of glowing, nocturnal, analogue grace that hark back to acid house and early techno, but with a mood and intent that seem to be designed for watching images dance on closed eyelids. It's no surprise that his work as a video artist resonates so strongly with the music he makes. Polysick says of his approach, "When I make music I always have a visual part in mind. In this case, many of the tracks have been influenced by visions of tribal nocturnal mysterious explorations like in 'Preda' which is the Italian word for "quarry". I tried to convey a sense of mystery and danger with those swirling flutes and the timpani rolls too, like if you were in the middle of a jungle, in a deep dark night and you're running away through the trees, haunted, like in some of those old zombie splatter movies from the '80s.. same with 'Tic-Tac Toe', with that clock ticking and the deep bass..." Polysick has tapped straight into the synthetic pleasures of early dance music's otherworldly pulses, the hypnotic arpeggios of Italo disco, soaring Detroit chords, cosmic disco, the '4th World' music of Jon Hassell and the library exotics of Piero Umiliani. Imagine a nexus between early acid house and Italo music being used for mental therapy, exotic travelling and imagining, exciting the brain waves and journeying into imagined spaces; 'Digital Native' is set in such an imagined line of enquiry - this is body music for the resting body.

Submerse is 23 year old Rob Orme who splits his time between North West England and Tokyo. He's already had a Guardian 'new band of the day' feature, which claimed him to be 'Making some of the most heartbreakingly beautiful (dance) music anywhere on the planet.' This came after just a handful of EP's and a free download album that blend his love of J-pop and 2 step.
His debut EP for Apollo showcases how his productions have moved on in complexity and accomplishment moving between the digital hip hop of '8Bit Romance' and the glitchy electronica of 'Cluster' to the recognizable garage mutations of 'Give It Up' and 'They Always Come Back'.

The legendary 'Freakazoids' return to the 808 to bring back their own slice of Electro Funk. 'The Freakazoids' is the Brainchild of Lee Coombs, Nick Slater and Lanx (later two both of Shades of Rhythm fame) who came together through their love of Old Skool Electro Funk and Hip Hop and released a string of underground records in the late Nineties. After a ten year break and working on other projects the boys have decided to collaborate again and bring back the Funk.

'Freakazoid Experiments' is a brand new track that delivers the Old Skool Electro Boogie with a modern twist.
'What is a DJ 2012' is a new remake if one of their biggest tracks also aimed squarely at the dancefloor.

As Ajello say: "The idea for a cover version of N.O.I.A.'s "Looking For Love" was born a couple of years ago - an idea of Alessandro Piatto, younger brother of Davide Piatto, original member of N.O.I.A. As soon as Alessandro proposed it, we asked whether we could have the original tracks but, unfortunately, they have been lost over the years. Immediately his brother Davide brought together the original lineup of N.O.I.A. and locked them up in the studio to record the voice from scratch and some of the synth parts. Our intervention was first on the drums, replacing the original for a more uptempo beat, and then the bassline, shaping it to a more modern sound. The vocals were treated with filters and echoes, and we also added some new guitar parts and synth lines. It was an honour to us, Ajello, to bring to light an Italo-disco classic that has really influenced us and we have put all our efforts to create a version that is timeless, as much as the original. "

It's been a long time coming and it's great to finally announce the release of Eric Lanham's "The Sincere Interruption", his first long-playing record under his own name after performing for years under various solo guises such Carl Calm and Palmetto Moon Electronic Group and as one half of the Caboladies equation. Commissioned back in the summer of 2011, it was finally recorded in March 2012 and it's been well worth the wait.
Lanham has crafted a very special set of improvised electronic compositions which rise above many of the contemporaries of his ilk. With an eye on both the origins of electronic music as well as the not so distant past, "The Sincere Interruption" was recorded in superb fidelity with great attention to sound placement and frequency variations. Elements of late 90's-early 00's Mille Plateaux/Warp styled disjointed rhythms are bent into surgically precise and meticulously pieced concrete/electronic form, crammed with information overload situations and infinite variables to one's listening perception. It's a challenge to hear the album the same way twice with the sheer amount of action and peculiarity happening over the duration.

While there are indeed busy moments throughout, tracks like "21:00" and "No Ordinates" display an attention to control and deep focus, relying on an idea which develops and evolves seamlessly in subtle variation while retaining a repetitive nature. An outstanding effort and a great addition to the ever evolving Spectrum Spools catalog.

For this 22nd release on Lomechanik we present the EP 'When Her Language Goes On Holiday' by Urkelle, which will be available on vinyl and digitally. Intelligent, deep bass music that fits just as well on the dancefloor as on your
headphone. Urkelle is one of the aliases of Steve Mensink, a Dutch producer which is based in the city of Utrecht. This EP resonates with an intruiging tension between repetition and progression. The release will appeal to the
fans of the subtle progressions of Theo Parrish, as well as those of the broken bass music by Objekt or the hypnotic atmospheres of classic Autechre releases.

Fresh from his epic long player collaboration with Benjamin Damage, Doc Daneeka rolls in with two tough and red-blooded rhythms for Roska Kicks & Snares. This is the Doc back to his rugged and insistent best, with the emphasis on heavy bass and tribal percussion intertwining together in raw harmony. Peppered with soundbwoy samples, both cuts appeal to those wanting something a little tougher in their musical diet and is a welcome forward-sounding move by the versatile and talented producer. On remix duty the non-stop production trio and huge UK Funky talents Funkystepz give a more suppressed yet enchanting re-imagination to Daneeka's mighty approach. A bed of resting synths bubble under and allow the bass to become the focal point with a masterful rearrangement proving Funkystepz' firm status as top dogs. Sea' boldly submerges into dark, morose rhythms, juxtaposing the graceful and desolate characteristics of the Californian lakebed the
album shares its name with.

Ushering in a new era for Tiga's Turbo Recordings, New Jack Techno showcases the label's next generation of producers, signalling a bold new direction for the influential Canadian imprint. This 12" sampler includes three highlights from the compilation, offering a preview of what looks like a massive year for the veteran label.

Though well respected and accomplished producers in their own right, together Brian 'Orgue Electronique' Schijf and Danny 'Legowelt' Wolfers really make the girls go wild. Their Chicago Shags project is one that has released on Creme Organization, Bunker and Strange Life Records, forever mining increasingly exciting house depths since 2005. Now they return with The Family Album on the ever-excellent MOS Recordings.

From constant fear, that haunts people in the dusty streets like shadows. Some say, it's only paranoia. But you can't deny the kidnappings, the stick-ups and the killings. Police is doomed to watch, hands cuffed, since the power lays in the hands of others. Who are they They are invisible. You can only see the bloodshed and the tears. And like everywhere else in the world: violence is always calling for more violence.

Little is known about the Norwegian bunny & bear duo known simply as "The Glue". Their last appearance with us came courtesy of Kolour LTD and we knew right then that these boys were in-store for their own EP with us and we're pleased to announce that it's finally come to fruition.

Remix duties see the return of the incomparable Dead Rose Music Company to the Kolour fray. He takes the title track and rubs it into a chunky piece of dancefloor business that has without a doubt turned into one of our favorite remixes to date.
