Bucharest's electronic scene is surely flourishing these days. New artists, new sounds and ,not least, new labels appear almost every day. It was time for old comrades Piticu and Herodot to start one of their own. Unanim is the name they've unanimously chosen to represent them. First come out the sounds of piticu wich are rather techno and agressive. It's time to dance on both sides of tipic ep and we unanimously like the ideea. Der untergang seems to be a classic techno track, if that track was made by Piticu of course. Raw elements run a long way before downfalling into a brilliant lead.

Micro phonia is the quiet one, but actually it's not quiet at all. Here the bassline is the hook. the track grows and grows, adding layer after layer of twilight on the trippy percussion, only to end in a mystic dark note.

After his last EP on Stil vor Talent in 2009, born-and-bread Berliner Sascha Braemer is now back with three fresh tracks for the spring of 2011

Alec Troniq completes his impacting Uncrufter trilogy with model number 3000. After the formidable success of Uncrufter 1000 and 2000 with tracks like "Fin's Lampenladen" and "Fauxpas" he ignites his final purge. With "M100" on A-Side a strrrooong earcatcher steamrolls you, suitable for House, Techno and Electro sets equally. "Thanks Bob" on B1 associates high energetic pumping grooves with a catchy bounce. On B2 powerful "Prima!" is fancy stomping in high spirits. Again Alec Troniq assures sustainable prevention against any run-ofthe-mill with an abnormal, melodic but crowd rocking drive.

with RV8, the osaka-based producer and musician AOKI takamasa continues his long-
term project that focuses on the modulation of rhythms and grooves. it began with his frst ep
‚rhythm variations' in 2009, released as part three of the unun-series. besides his collaboration
with raster-noton, he released records on several labels like commmons, progressive form
and op.disc, produced remixes for well-known musicians like ryuichi sakamoto or yoshihiro
hanno and played performances at, for example, elektra/montreal and club transmediale/
berlin, all in all making him a renowned producer in japan and beyond.
starting with a frework of bleeps and bops, already the very frst minutes of his new
record reveal aoki's preference for vibrating beats and likewise his playful approach to music,
generating a sound that is aiming at the dance foor.
like the frst ones, almost all tracks of the record are characterized by a constant modulation
of chords and lines that sometimes appears somehow hyperactive, but nevertheless results
in a natural fow that perfectly refects AOKI's laid-back attitude combined with his will to
produce danceable and funky music.
the fuent arrangement is only interrupted by the third track which forms a caesura by
being more reduced and slower. in contrast to this, the following tracks present a faster
tempo and an increased intensity; and whereas the frst tracks refect downbeat and r'n'b
infuences due to their broken beats and chunky sound, the later songs are characterized by
a more sleek and technoid style, incorporating dribbling basses, clappy sounding snares and
modulated voice snippets.
although all of the musical components are constantly broken down, modulated, and
rearranged, the overall sound of the record is dense and compact, featuring a groove made
up of numerous elements that are complexly intertwined. the eight tracks of the record ft
seamlessly together and create a composition that nearly functions like a dj set.

Oskar Offermann - Frankfurt-born DJ, producer and label owner based in Berlin - has been around the international House scene for the past seven years now. After having several releases on his own (WHITE, Rimini) as well as befriended labels (Aim, Mule), his album debut is soon to come out - the second long player released by WHITE along Edward's recent 'Teupitz.' The album entitled 'Do Pilots still Dream of Flying' feels like a consequence of his musical work so far - without overly leaning itself too much on already known standards. The album surprises with its ambition towards increased musicality, and presents itself as an homage to what potentially lies behind the horizon - not as a wrap-up of the past. Melodies and vocals instead of patterns and structures: Oskar has deliberately taken off his Deep-House glasses and tried to work production-wise more along the lines of traditional song-writing. Why Because it just felt right. Contentment and calmness have taken over the initial excitement and ecstasy - personally as well as professionally. By the words of Oskar he has 'finally arrived in his profession as a DJ and producer.'

Our fifth release brings on a very special project in the form of Raresh, Vlad Caia and Cristi Cons together as Verico. The Numiris EP consists of a collection of three live studio recordings, with additional editing and arrangement done by Vlad Caia.

Numiris EP is a different sound from what Amphia enthusiasts have become accustomed to, never the less, we hope you will find it appealing to your senses.

Following and expanding upon the line of thought put forward in her 2013 album Syzygy, Lucrecia Dalt ends in a place familiar, yet noticeably different on her new EP S/T. Its two tracks, 'Esotro' and 'Veta', continually defy expectation — haunting vocal ballads that trickle into clouds of white noise — but for an acquainted listener that won't surprise. What may are the music's newly raw textures and palpable weight, counterbalancing the carefully wrought beauty that's always been there. You wouldn't be totally wrong to call Dalt a 'bedroom producer,' but anyone can grab a laptop, a production software, and begin experimenting in the comfort of their own home. It's rare to find a 'bedroom producer' like Dalt with so sharp an ear, matching intimacy with technical rigor beat for beat. Her music is honest, for sure, but also impeccably engineered. To that point, everything on S/T Dalt crafted herself — no samples, no Ableton Live presets. Her composition process, much like her live set, is an improvisation structured by the tools at hand. Sounds are routed and rerouted, filtered and trimmed, finally emerging as envisioned, or, as often, not. Take the vocal textures on 'Veta': 'Ahs and Ohs' made by people throughout the world that she compiled through an open call made on her tumblr. But regardless of method, she always produces crystal-clear, ever surprising, seemingly inevitable music. At every stage, she's an original.

Since he left his role as a respected indie producer and drummer, and threw himself into the alluring dark paths of the electronic club scene, things have only moved in an upward direction for HOLTOUG. With several podcasts on the infamous Danish national radio show, UNGA BUNGA, live performances at the three best and biggest electronic festivals in his native Denmark; DISTORTION, STRØM and TRAILERPARK, the Copenhagen based producer and DJ no longer needs any introduction in his homeland. Outside Denmark however, what little people know of HOLTOUG comes mainly from a string of successful bootlegs and most have still to experience the musical depth he put into his own productions as well as his live- and DJ sets. With - Everybody' as his first release on Connaisseur, HOLTOUG delivers a melodic and poppish Deep-House track both as an original and a dub version, featuring the haunting vocals by Danish singer Silas. ..

Feliks peels off the skintight dolphin costume, looks deep into Mathias' eyes and says: "Halle Saale." The birth of the second album of these two guys from Halle is just as beautiful as the tracks themselves.
After "Heimatmelodien", intended almost exclusively for the dance floors of this and other parallel worlds, accelerated the pulses of the 4/4 Electronic Music fans, the pair are now venturing on deeper and more picturesque paths with their new album - and sometimes even disappear into the forest to pick some Pop. The needle captures the first mountains and valleys and can hardly wait to pass them on. A soundscape of unknown proportions begins to emerge. Opa Herbert breathes the first vocals into the vastness of space; we embark on an endless journey, accompanied by bells and fresh whole milk. What do we learn from this trip Cryptic titles which, after a while, become crystal clear to us and a cover that could not be more disturbing. A setting in which there are no rules. Neither time nor space is respected here and viewing habits are trampled on. As with - Si pero no' which has the clear potential to hit the scene like - hay consuelo' did. In cooperation with Jake the Rapper in - Something suitable' - where they combine their trademark sub-basslines with hypnotic sounds and deliver in combination with Jake's vocals, the perfect instant-clubbanger.All in all, it's a wild ride on the zeitgeist of clubsound, powerfull tracks which seem to never loose their breath. Once again it's time for a new addiction to the Paragram family. The second Paragram's release of 2014 is in the care of Phred, a new artist we are really glad to have on board.

The ep opens with the title track "Nebular", a 10 minutes excursion into the trippiest side of music. The intro builds ambience with a soft filtered pad, adding a sense of space and mystery, on top of wobbly synthesized percussions and raw drums. The long track playtime allows the artist to express all his ability to merge clever sampling fragments from old dusty records, with futuristic synthesized elements.

On the flip, the jazz and soul sample-based, early 90's hip-hop influences become more present. The second track, "Harlem", begins with a processed urban field recording of a confused street conversation with a catchy break beat drum pattern on top of it, until the warm sub bass and the melancholic chords melody emerge from the arrangement.

The closing track "Matic" features dark jazzy sounds as well as the other tracks in the ep, but it doesn't care much of the softer side. It's very raw, solid and punchy techno from the beginning to the end of its playtime.

P. Lopez's new EP may be called 'The Same Beat'. However, rest assured that this is most definitely a showcase of the Paraguayan urban and tech house producer's chameleonic capabilities. We've seen Lo¬pez on labels such as Dogmatik, Tirk and Rational¬ism just to name a few, and he's even grabbed the attention of Berghain who welcome him for his debut performance there in April. Now he stamps his sonic dexterity all over this five track dark techno AEON EP which includes a Beatport Exclusive. Expect to be led through a progression of styles and emotions, fist pumps and foot taps all in the name of true quality music.

The title track doesn't patronise you with a soft intro¬duction. 'The Same Beat' chucks you unmercifully into dark decadent techno territory. A growling vocal requests 'the same beat' as the track continuously builds.

With 'That's It', Lopez is joined by Matias Espinola. An infectious off-beat drum pattern is joined by a dubby vibe that dances all the way through before a cleverly used vocal sample brings this track to an understated yet satisfying climax.

In '1000', Lopez interweaves a dark sexy bassline with clangs of chords and echoed claps before adding ethereal strings. He layers each sound with deft skill in this gorgeous composition, progressing from dark to light in just under eight minutes.

House Robot is the cooler older brother on this EP with the final track a Beatport Exclusive Dub remix. These tracks display a blend of techno-meets-urban that Lopez conquers so well.
'The Same Beat EP' showcases a stellar collection of cuts that complement each other when played in its entirety, but you can be sure they more than hold their own as dancefloor bombs.

Spilt Milk Recordings launches with fresh new material from Marc Ashken, a proficient producer who's worked with the likes of Safari Electronique and Leftroom. The original mix of title cut 'Lupine' sees Ashken embrace his signature mood-driven and hypnotic style, fusing sturdy rhythms, tripped-out meandering melodies, resonant synth glitches and a processed vocal murmurs to kick things off in style. Following is the 'Acapella' offering then the 'Beats' version of 'Lupine' steps in, doing exactly what it says on the tin. The flip side of the release gives us two versions of 'Squat'. The original takes on a contrasting format to the preceding track. This time veering into more reduced realms with sparse drum programming, rumbling sub-bass and sporadic menacing synth stabs to create a mind-bending composition. The package is then closed with the '606 Edit' of 'Squat'! We're treated to an analogue drum-driven take on the original number.

Plastic Love welcomes fellow Angeleno Michael Walsh on board for the 2nd release on their budding label. Walsh's debut EP showcases the producer's breadth and depth of all things rave with two distinct tracks aimed squarely at the dancefloor. Before When It Was New's unmistakeable melody act as a call to the dancefloor while a rumbling bassline underneath keeps you locked into a groove. Strobe Light's arpeggiated bassline and snappy disco drums showcase how versatile Walsh can be. Remixes come courtesy of label co-boss Maheras as well as Caravan boss and Aus Music stalwart DJ October.

Last year Moscow Records set up sub-label Moss Co and each release so far has introduced a new set of artists. For this third release it's Nu Zau, aka tefan Gabriel Zamfir and Loopdeville, aka D Zlatinov. Nu Zau debuted on Fear Of Flying in 2012 and his 2013 was prolific with seven releases added to his name. He provides an 11-minute drum track, "Cumse Cuvine", that's filled with kooky and super minimal, squeaks, tweets and vocal samples; a fine production. Loopdeville's kick drum on "Piance" in comparison to Zau's A-side is standout, and here he provides a cold and moody track designed for those deeper moments of the night. It's the London-based producer third release after debuting in 2013 with two 12"s, one of which, Phantasmagoria, inaugurated new label Delooped.

Well ok, no rule without exception... This beautiful joint from Johannes Albert is a little web 2.0 fairy-tail: The WHITE rookie & cratedigga no. 1 "Moomin" found a Youtube clip of a DJ hammering a super-deep, rough piano track in a club in the German city of "Paderborn".

Hailing from the ever-strengthening Parisian electronic music scene,
Sylvain Peltier has been carving out a name for himself amongst his fellow city-dwellers with dark, hypnotic incantations that inject a little black magic into the restrained cyclical motions of tough minimal techno. With releases on Deeply Rooted House, Syncrophone, and imminently Tresor and his own Construct Re-Form already laying out a fearsome mission statement, it gives us great pleasure to present a further chapter in the eerie tale of Zadig.

Kicking off the record in dramatic style, 'Tears Of Roy' takes its time coming to life on a mystical beatless intro that rewards the patient listener as it falls away, only to re-emerge as a taut 4/4 ground-shaker with a bewitching concoction of discordant melodies and razor-sharp drum patterns to be seduced by.

Putting paid to drawn out lead-ins, 'Anentropic Field' kicks off without hesitation as a Robert Hood-flavoured hook sets the mind whirling in a fit of looped techno abandon. It's a stark design that communicates on a primal level, rounding out
a record that marries the mental and physical appeals of techno together with alarming sophistication.

'Daedalus' holds court over the B-side with an instant hit of rhythmic propulsion that mainlines snaking v, subtle notes and an urgent hi-hat tick into the nervous system from the get-go. The keys are king in this track, playing out a dissonant melody in an ever-building dose of energetic tension sure to resonate with all lovers of the dark side of the dance.

After all that energy, a mind-cleanser such as 'Prisoner Of Void' makes for the perfect way to round off an EP that marks yet another essential step forwards for both Chronicle and Zadig.

Eminor#16 is a shure shot! Its well-done mixture of a nasty vocal with twinkle-toed basslines, Scatterbrain will certainly hit crowds by surprise. On the other side, Knurrhahn - composed with labelowner Wahrlich - is a functional and repetitive pusher. With this record, Carbon from Hamburg makes clear which way the wind blows and where his musical development is leading to.
