Melbourne has a new record label, NICE:NOISE: dedicated to up-heaving Australia's backyards, draining the suburban pools & scouring the cupboards of our cities share houses past & present to bring you the best in electronic squelches, squeals, analogue hums & various fodder.

 NICE:NOISE is a sub-imprint of Dual Planet and will be a label focused on 1980s Post Punk electronics and Minimal Synth from Australia. A collaborative project curated together with Kate Reid from It Records & Jenny Branagan from NUN . Taking our name from the Philip Brophy/Tsk Tsk Tsk track where minimalism and pop collide head on, we'll be delving deep to explore the unknown recordings of this incredible scene.NICE:NOISE in collaboration with It Records is proud to present our first title, a compilation from the legendary Melbourne Minimal Wave trio The Metronomes. Forming in 1979 and releasing two singles and two studio albums for Cleopatra Records (Cybotron/Tolley & Dara) in the 1980's,

The Metronomes consisted of individuals from various groups from the Melbourne post punk scene, Al Webb (Streetlife), Andrew Picouleau (Secret Police, PopGunMen, X-Ray-Z, Sacred Cowboys) and Ash Wednesday (JAB, Models, Modern Jazz, CRASHLAND!). Time Keeping is a hand picked selection of loose post-punk fragmentations and seamlessly welded circuits by these Australian electronic auteurs.

In "Long Play" trifft sich Vergangenheit und Zukunft von Paco Osuna. Das Ergebnis von fast 20 Jahren hinter den Decks von Ibiza-Residenzen in den späten Neunzigern, bis hin zu einer integralen Rolle in Hawtins aktuellen ENTER.-Veranstaltungen im Space und ein Schub für Techno, House, Minimal und Tech-House, sind "Long Plays" elegante und üppige Tracks zusammengewunden durch Osunas sucht-erregende Basslines. "Die Bassline ist meine Besessenheit", sagt er - der Hauptbestandteil, um perfekten Techno zu machen und um unglaublich energetische DJ-Sets zu spielen.

Our maestro is back. After releasing a pair of successive Eastern Hemisphere EPs on Euro-Moroccan imprint Cosmo Records and an appearance for Pluie/Noir's stupendous 3×12 compilation, Radiq aka yoshihiro HANNO finally makes his return to Tokyo's op.disc with this absorbing, exquisite full-length titled 'Vida Noir'.
Since day one, Radiq has been showing an affinity for the Afro-centric funkiness and carefully-honed sound design of modern day's minimal music. As in many of his previous tracks, all six songs of 'Vida Noir' has this certain kind of unyielding quality: long, hypnotic grooves with muted kick drum set the stage for more emancipated experiments in texture and sound design. On 'A Long Hot Summer Break', for example, the effect is utterly obvious as kicking its ass into gear with syncopated drums and strain of warm chords before animated vocal sample slips in like fingerprint. While deeply seductive interplay of those chugging percussion gives way to delighted horn of 'A-Dieu', warm chord and acoustic guitar of 'Calling' is perfect example for Radiq's masterful sound and texture.'Machine Codes Modified' has rather restrained structure for him, but tightly woven drums speaks eloquently about its carefully arranged funkiness and dance floor functionality.
Despite their repetitiveness, it's surprising how well these productions forming cohesive solidarity as an album. Presumably, it owes a lot to wide tonal vocabulary which is Radiq's hallmark: these tracks has something concentrated, vivid qualities. This album sits just at the edge of the dance floor, but also performs its exceptional strength on intense home listening. Dusky synth and truncated surge of bass of 'Vida Noir' constructing something dark, before closing this album with modulated Afro-acoustic guitar and deep falsetto voice (by the producer himself) of 'Rondo'. This album offers up an engaging and comprehensive amalgamation from the inquisitive sound by the maestro.

Mr. Statik is back on Mo's Ferry with his new EP 'Roll Down The Shutters'. And he got massive support from Sasha Perera (Jahcoozi). She performed the laid-back vocals on this release. Remixes by Dapayk and Daze Maxim complete the package - but enough with the name dropping. The original track shows influences in dub, but with an elegant touch. Stathis often uses minimalistic 80s drum sound patterns and smooth bass lines. The specific topic of this tune lies in the depth of tape echoed chord sounds and the pretty cool vocals of Sasha Perera, as already mentioned. Btw, she also played the horn parts. Dapayk moves his remix more in the tech house genre. He obviously changed tempo and bass line to get enough drive for a peaktime floor filler. But he also leaves room for the original vocals and the horn section. Daze Maxim's remix is more in the minimal direction. Despite the loose tempo of the original he brought a new definition and focus to the beat. He takes only a few snippets from the vocals but plays extensively with the modulation of the chord sounds. Mr. Statik himself marks the finish of the EP. His dub mix slowly rolls down the shutters.

Gianni Callipari is the Swiss born DJ and producer who has been bubbling under for some time now, crafting his skills, both in the studio and in the clubs, for the past few years. A crucial member of the Nordstern team (the hi-spec and highly popular 600 capacity nightclub in Basel, Switzerland), Gianni has played alongside a who's who of DJ talent, from Carl Cox to Seth Troxler, Dixon to Jamie Jones, and of course with Luciano, the Cadenza ambassador. It is this relationship with Luciano that brings Gianni to Cadenza, not just as an artist, but now also as a DJ (now on the Aether Artists roster alongside many Cadenza stable mates). The 'Modular' EP is technically Gianni's debut release (save for a track included on Nic Fanciulli's Balance 021 mix compilation in 2012). And it's a confident and assured debut release on Cadenza. Title track 'Modular' is steady in pace, and hypnotically uplifting in melody, without ever resorting to clichés. Subtle touches to the hi-hats and percussive patterns keep the deep groove locked in whilst the synth work wraps around your head and doesn't shift. A track already road tested many times this year already, we know this cut has the power to lose a few minds whilst keeping the feet firmly moving. 'Girls On Acid' is less heady, going for a playful loose beat and choppy vocals. Subtle synth sweeps pick up the energy throughout on this simple, yet effective, percussive club cut. Wrapping up the release is 'Boogie Curls', a skanking and bass shaking track that builds nicely, again without ever over cooking the elements, a great mood piece to sign off with. Greek producers Lee Burton and Mr. Statik are already familiar to fans of groove-inducing, deep minimal house, creating intricately woven tracks that spark dancefloors and neurotransmitters in equal measure. Individually, they've released on an impressive array of labels like BPitch, Klik and Mo's Ferry, and the two buddies have also collaborated on IRR and Rotary Cocktail. Now, AMAM gets first dibs at issuing the first release as Steampunk'd, their new collaborative project, hotter than Ashton Kutcher in metallic neo-Victorian garb.

'The Plot Thickens', the EP's woozy namesake track, is propelled by highly compressed funk juice that maintains a relatively lower BPM, with plenty of space in between downbeats for playful purrs and clicks, conveying - as the title implies - a growing sense of tension. 'Sinderella' is a similarly eerie but catchy fairy tale run on jumpity clockwork - play this one after midnight and see what transformations take place!

On the flip side, 'Peanuts in Love' is a comparitively more straightforward framework, with wispy vocals yearning atop a vibrant house beat. After the original version comes Ion Ludwig's remix, turning it into a more minimalist instrumental. Finally, as a digital bonus track, 'Talking in my Way' brings back the funk with twitching sub-bass and a deep-throated vocal hook. Stay tuned for more steaming piles from this punky duo!

The Color Tapes label was the brainchild of a young Gary Ramon after being
inspired by cassette labels such as Fuck Off Tapes, Weird Noise and other underground UK labels, and also by the music of the late '70's and early '80's such as Cabaret Voltaire, Suicide, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Throbbing Gristle, Fad Gadget, as well as electronic musicians such as John Cage, La Monte Young, Stockhausen, Pierre Henry, Moondog, and others that were being discovered after the Kraftwerk assault with "The Man Machine". And incidentally Color Tapes made a tribute cassette to John Cage called A Tribute To Jo Change - but don't be confused with James Chance!

These tracks from this compilation album originally came out only on limited cassette runs of 100 copies sold at gigs, mail order and record shops such as Small Wonder Records.

The compilation features tracks by: Lives Of Angels, Modern Art, Mystery Plane,The Lord, Disintegrators, WeR7, Berserk In A Hayfield and Stereo Machines & Kinesis.

The majority of these tracks from these UK garage cold wave bands used mostly synthesizer,
drum machines and sequencers such as EMS VCS3, Minimoog, Korg MS-20, Roland Juno 6,
SH-09, TR-808 so you know how they could sound. These machines today are part of the history of
the development of electronic music in the UK.

Remastered from original analogue source tapes by Denis Blackham, this is a must-have for electronic, synth and cold wave collectors.

Includes a full colour illustrated poster of all the cassette sleeves (70 releases)
made by the label and associated releases between 1979-1986.

Kalipo is Jakob Häglsperger from Berlin who devotes himself to experimental electronica. His debut album Yaruto follows a series of remixes and contributions to compilations released by Antime and Stiff Little Spinners. On it, Häglsperger tries to create a both unique and timeless sound that takes cues from dance music, downbeat and Gamelan traditions alike. Making use of his wide array of analogue synthesizers, a Rhodes piano, a metallophone and guitars, Häglsperger is creating the abstract narrative of an impersonal biography by creating moods that correspond with certain stages of life as well as chopped up vocal samples.

It's been a while since we brought you the last EP on LLFO by Sascha Dive. We haven't been lazy though. Now we present you another exceptional split EP, this time including tracks from Christian Burkhardt and Daniel Roth. Christian opens the release with his brilliant contribution 'Body' featuring mysterious C'mone. 'Body' is a deep and organic piece of extensive drum patterns, analogue bass madness and haunting sample bits. It starts slow but yet in between; soon a deep and enthralling acid bassline drops into the atmosphere, which sucks you into a neverending pleasure of dancing. Daniel Roth adds a perfect complement to this release. He delivers a superb B-side track which can be briefly descriped as hypnotising. He chose classy drums and quirky sounds for an easy but effective after-hour piece. As Christian, he uses rare vocal samples to add a glance to his work. This one is definitely a secret weapon!

Federico Molinari leads us into the new year with Pildoras, his latest stroke for OSLO. He presents his latest work in form of two trippy and reduced Minimal House gems. The A-side is home to Pildoras, the main track of this EP. Without large detours, Federico drops into the track with an unpretentious bassline and classy drum patterns. A quirky voice rises here and there to say what many people surely think, while dancing to this track: Tablets. This one is certainly not a track for every occasion, but it can be a real surprise in the right moment.

Label heads Cosmic Cowboys this time invite on this new physical release the well know Portuguese duo Johnwaynes, two of European house milestones with releases on labels such as Cecille, Compost or Serenades delivering an extremely hypnotic cut which goes deep in the darker side of their sound which get reshaped on the remix by one of Berlin most famous artists as his majesty Tigerskin aka Dub Taylor (Dirt Crew / Get Physical) that revisit the elements of 'Algarve' into a brighter version with a killer groove that keep all of the hypnotism of the original but taken from a completely different perspective. On the flipside of this BAF006 here comes one of Israel's most talented artists as Gene, after his works on labels as Kindish, Pets and Rotary Cocktail on Back And Forth delivers a warm and deep cut that reminds us of the hot summer nights on the Mediterranean Riviera. Parisian rising star Molly (Rekids) on her remix focus on the essential elements signing a more club oriented and concrete revision of 'Foreplay' that keeps anyway the deepness and the breathtaking atmosphere of the original mix. Unclear 004 scars the up and coming debut of Niro as a producer, by producing an EP designed by a deep and a strong dub and techno tonalities.
Side A is strongly inspired and imprinted from the deep house of Agachoo and from Reshape mix of Fred P that manages to produce his own originality integrated with a strong dub atmosphere.
Side B is a discovery into the techno soul differently from the previous EP described before. Starship Hookers demonstrates an ever more strong reference to deep, that the remix of MRSK manages to strip completely bringing the entire disc into the purest of techno.

limited 1-sided pressing !!! Such a beautiful theme to start into a next decade. If you followed the two guys around the last months attentively you mayalready know this track very well. This one will wake up all the tired horses for sure.

12" sampler from awesome Clouds-curated compilation of hardcore Scottish hooligan techno.

Heir apparent to the UK techno throne, Clouds have been gaining credibility with each release. With their LP Ghost Systems Rave, 12"s on Fifth Wall and Soma, and their latest Tannhauser Acid Works EP, they've reached beyond the warehouse and into the wild apocalyptic rubble of po-mo UK hardcore.

Their lead track Blood Skating is an industrial blitz of terror-beats, laced with a haunting, Aphex-grade vocal pad. It sets the tone for this incredible release, which they've A&R'd out of thin air, apparently from their mates in Dundee, Perth, and the surrounding mud-lands.

The 12" sampler features DJ Hesburger's 'Roll Up Your Sleeves, Welcome to the Dance,' an awesome slice of overdriven acid electro that sounds like MPIA3 on MDMA. Jane 'Fuck Your Alliance' is proper mental brain dance, while Dance Company's 'Berzerkerz' sounds like an unearthed hardcore anthem from 92.

The full "...I Care Because You Don't" compilation is coming October 2014.
