Nach einer Handvoll gefeierter EPs auf KOMPAKT und mehr als einem Jahr akribischer Vorbereitung sind die Ziele hoch gesteckt für Marius Bubat und Georg Conrad alias COMA, deren lang erwartetes Debütalbum IN TECHNICOLOR bald via KOMPAKT das Licht des Tages erblicken wird. Alle Erwartungen sehen sich erfüllt mit einer kongenial komponierten Sammlung an erstklassigen Tracks, die permanent die Lager zwischen Pop- und Clubkultur wechseln. The Berlin resident by choice presents his newest work with the title song "Real Face" and "Movement" - two deep, groovy summer tracks, completed with spherical elements that make this sound perfect for the upcoming Open Air season.
The French producer Fred Siera adds a remix of "Real Face", which is a "real bomb"! The clearly defined bass sounds will have a mighty push on any dancefloor, still the remix feels really smooth because of the rest of the arrangement, making this track overall even more enjoyable. As a digital release, there is an additional Indication Edit by master Henschel himself, with about the same power inside itself. Let the summer begin!

The vinyl series of Soño Vivo continues with the Italian guy Luc Miles. The talented Producer discovered his love to music in the early years when he got his first piano. Since the age of sixteen he is under the spell of electronic music and is captured in it. That's great for us...because Luc Miles now presents a mesmeric EP on Soño Vivo. Elegant strings and summery percussions accentuate his track - Rugiada'. In - Ybaddar mas' you can find sprawling pads and bell-like sythesis sounds that go under the skin.

For this important occasion the label enlisted Matt Star as an important Remixer. In the scene he is not unknown and excels with releases on the biggest labels of the scene: Cocoon Recordings, international Freakshow, Hypercolour, Kling Klong - only to mention some of them... Also his Remixschedule satisfies all wishes! He was allowed to work on tracks of international prominence like Technasia, Danilo Vigorita or Robag Wruhme. Over the years he collected many experiences as producer which he also uses in his remixes for Luc Miles - Ybaddar mas' and 'Rugiada'. With the help of oldschool-drums and searing chords the original transforms into a dancefloor-bomb. Matt sets the jungle sounds from the original expertly in scene and in his arrangement he lets them floating on.

Spacey and with a hint of acid Wigbert presents his version of - Rugiada'. A dirty padsound forms the main focus and runs through the remix which develops with the help of the accompaniment of percussions, acid basslines and effect sounds of - Rugiada'. This Remix is really suiable for the dancefloor and at the latest in the middle of the track during the highlight people will stamp their feet!

The last time Patrick Vano appeared on Mo's Ferry was a remix for Jedi Jet in the beginning of 2013. And the new year seems to be a changing point in his career. Before that Patrick released under his nickname Peddy, which is - to be honest - no longer appropriate. The latest productions show that he's grown out of his bedroom studio and local DJ residencies. It's time to take the next step. Under his moniker Patrick Vano he's got his first full-length album - The Other Side Of Me' coming up in a few weeks. The current 4-tracker gives an insight into what's going to be expected. Dapayk puts his stamp on the EP with a distinctive remix. He's absolutely convinced that Patrick Vano will forge his own path.

Swan Lake shows with finesse his staggering skills to craft cinematographic atmospheres in danceable patterns, bending musical styles and constantly reminding us that club music can be so much more. Both sides share the same classical-inspired background while still being quite different in mood and lightness. Striking at 14 minutes each, the progression on these tracks remain sophisticated and visionary, messing with your head and heart in unexpected ways. 'Swan Lake' is a delicate yet striking piece, with a precise yet unusual drum-programming and intelligent classical-music sampling. The flip-side 'Eternal Sunshine' is a darker toned track, with slight-flashes of acid in it's core bass-line and ever-lifting tense chords that unexpectedly rumble between the intense atmosphere and lift both your body and soul. Artwork was handpainted by designer Max Binski, Pluie/Noir's curator and art director.

It's time for class once again. Students, take out your notepads, er, laptops. Today's lesson is how to spin subtlety, emotion, and intelligence into slices of smooth groove. Our coursework consists of the original of DISORDER VS. DISASTER on PRIVATE GOLD. Some of you may have gathered through the syllabus that DISORDER VS. DISASTER is in fact written by intellectual strongmen CESARE MARCHESE (of recent published work on VAKANT and DUMB-UNIT) and his co-author CESAR MERVEILLE (of the CADENZA university). We will also focus on the peer reviews, in fact re-interpretations, by renowned sonic experimenter BRUNO PRONSATO (THESONGSAYS) and head of this very department JIN CHOI. The thesis presented herein posits that through teasing ones heartstrings while simultaneously stimulating various parts of the brain, one can be brought to locomotion: in the layman's terms - to dance. The original's insistent organ chords mix with scattershot brushed snare rolls and a bevy of various, seemingly random percussion... loose and almost falling apart before the below 100hz bass creeps in, finally bringing about the traditionalist kick and hi-hat combo at 2 minutes and turning it into an ephemeral train chugging along a winding track. While the PRONSATO version chooses to stick with the kick from square one, it is by no means a stodgy, traditional affair. Fluid body movement brought about by delayed bits of melody, strong and percussive bass and the interplay of smeared shakers and his oft-repeated wet claps. But it's the unintelligible vocals and moody sine wave that eventually prove the theory. Brain first, but with body together. Lastly, CHOI gives us the straight bull. Without resorting to tricks, he twists the words of the two CES' into his easily recognizable powerhouse style. Crushed rim shots mixed with a bevy of cymbal play and a plaintive wail sits on top of a pushing low end. The most body interpretation of the three, but never lacking in brains where it uses brawn. Additional excitement is generated by Maher Daniel and Adrian Martin. Both of which have administered their passionate juice tot he EP's title track. Maher Daniel in a minimalistic, hypnotic way while Adrian Martin takes *Who loves you* into the dark and sexy realm of clubland.

Six years have passed since the last album by Andi Otto alias Springintgut, ("Park and Ride", City Centre Offices, 2007). In this period, Otto has done nothing less than inventing a new instru- ment: His "Fello" is a cello with movement sensors attached to the bow and a corresponding software. The development has been kicked off at STEIM in Amsterdam already in 2007. Since then, Otto has achieved vital refinements of the system, cooperated with artists of various fields as diverse as choreographers in Macedonia, theatre in Nigeria and Techno DJs in the Berghain Kantine in Berlin or the Fusion Festival. He even played solo with his instrument on different continents. For this third album, "Where We Need No Map" Otto takes the "Fello" to his studio in Hamburg for the first time. He records his instrument which has until today only been presented live on stage. In these Fello Sessions, the bow gestures immediate- ly modulate and process the amplified cello sound. In the subsequent editings he selects and cuts these sessions and merges them with other styles, such as Skweee, House and Jazz. Springintgut's trademark sound, this unique playfulness, is pre- sent throughout, while the live-processed cello adds an unrivaled deepness. The artist's expeditions even add more colour. Two tracks have been recorded in India. The lead voi- ce in "Bangalore Kids" is a field recording of a schoolboy in Cubbon Park, Bangalore. Andi Otto spends three months in Japan as artist- in-residence in the Villa Kamogawa in Kyoto. Du- ring this concentrated period he produces the more contemplative tracks of the album, like "Ka- mogawa Cycling" and "Western Kyoto". In Sri Lan- ka, finally, he meets Sasha Perera, the voice of Berlin's Dub Techno band Jahcoozi. They record two songs together. Especially in "Bullet" one can sense the lazy, muggy, peaceful heat of the after- noons in which this beautiful track has been com- posed. These stories may help to locate the music's orig- ins but still the sound of "Where We Need No Map" points us to unknown territories. The journey itself is the reward, let's listen!

Sechs Jahre sind seit dem letzten Album "Park and Ride" (City Centre Offices, 2007) von Andi Otto alias Springintgut bereits vergangen. Diese Zeit hat der Pingipung-Mitinhaber genutzt, nicht weni- ger als ein eigenes Instrument zu erfinden: das "Fello", ein Cello mit Bewegungssensoren auf dem Bogen und einer dazu gehörigen Soft- ware. Die Grundlagen dafür entstehen bereits 2007 am STEIM in Amsterdam. In der Folgezeit gelingt es Otto, das Instrument immer weiter zu verfeinern, mit unterschiedlichen Künstlern zu kooperieren und international aufzutreten. Für "Where We Need No Map" trägt Otto das Fello erstmals ins Hamburger Studio und nimmt unzählige Sessions auf, in denen die Gesten des Bogens direkt den verstärkten Sound des Cellos verändern und neu formen. Diese Fello-Sitzungen werden anschließend editiert und mit anderen Ein- flüssen vermengt, die von Skweee über House bis hin zum Jazz reichen. Der Markenzeichen-Sound von Springintgut, diese ureigene Verspieltheit, ist weiterhin vorhanden, gewinnt durch das live-pro- zessierte Cello aber eine bisher unerreichte Tiefe. Weitere Farbe erhält das Album durch Ottos zahl- reiche Tourneen in ferne Länder. Zwei Stücke ent- stehen in Indien. Die Stimme von "Bangalore Kids" ist eine Feldaufnahme eines Schuljungen im Cubbon Park in Bangalore. In Japan verbringt Andi Otto drei Monate als "Artist in Residence" in der Villa Kamogawa in Kyoto. Während dieser kon- zentrierten Zeit entstehen die ruhigeren Tracks des Albums wie "Kamogawa Cycling" und "Western Kyoto". In Sri Lanka lernt er dann Sasha Perera kennen, die Stimme von Jahcoozi. Sie nehmen zwei Songs zusammen auf. Vor allem in "Bullet" kann man der faulen Nachmittagshitze nachspü- ren, in der die Stücke entstanden sind. So lassen sich die vielfältigen Entstehungspunk- te von "Where We Need No Map" zwar karto- graphieren, aber der Sound des Albums schickt einen trotzdem in unbekanntes Terrain. "Der Weg ist das Ziel, frag nicht viel, hör mal..."

Brussels based producers outfit & mystery crew Run Tell Secrecy, a.k.a. VUURWERK, are teaming up with the upcoming Dandelion Lotus label for the official release of their debut LP ME+ONE. Fueled by a delicately rare DIY IDM esthetic, ME+ONE holds the distillated drops from the VUURWERK EPs made somewhere in the darkest times between September 2011 and January 2013. Creating a dissonance between dance music and intimacy, VUURWERK aims to drench the club experience in a comfortable haze.
