Moda Black's Little Black Book series was inspired by the desire for a new, more diverse, more personal platform for artists to express themselves. An album, remix album, compilation, mix series, autobiography and photo-book all rolled into one - a chance for artists to reveal a wealth of new material, whilst also dipping into their back-catalogue and allowing it to be re-imagined by new artists. The Little Black Book gets inside the artists' minds and looks to the future and what's to come.

For the second edition of Little Black Book, the reigns have been handed to the prolific and much loved Groove Armada. From early inspiration courtesy of 90's rave collective DiY to the worldwide success of six albums, long summers in Ibiza and global live tours - with such a storied history, it's hard to image where they'd even begin with a project like this. The boys brought the curtain down on their live tours at Brixton in 2010 because they wanted to go back to basics, House music and the warehouses where GA started - cue a series of releases on labels from Hypercolour to Hot Creations.

The mix on CD1 Groove Armada seven new original pieces of music as part of a 77 minute journey that also includes Tony Allen, Candi Staton, re-edits of a host of GA classics and their rework of Arthur Baker anthem, Rockers Revenge.

The second disc then sees 12 excellent producers redefine classic Groove Armada records, resulting in some spectacular new versions of tracks like 'Love Sweet Sound', 'Superstylin', 'Chicago' and 'I See You Baby' from the likes of Kolsch, andhim, Huxley, Jaymo& Andy George, JorisVoorn, PillowTalk, Emperor Machine, Marco Faraone, Chaim, Hauswerks, Walker & Royce and wAFF.

Included in the special notebook version of the release is Andy Cato's account of the GA journey from Castlemorton to L.A too - one that has taken them right back to the start. "People were saying if you're going to write new material you need to put it out on a major, get the band back together, unleash the machine. But we don't want to do that. We want to play and make house music, and that's all'.

After the labels last digital installments featuring artists like Urulu, Purple Velvet and ELEF, Kolorit
Records continues its journey into deepness and the origins of house. Catalogue #017 features two
well known heads, Jorge Takei and Thomas Sonora, who released on the likes of Suruba,
Nurvous, Rebirth and Klasse Recordings, but also introduces a new face to the labelfamily:
Sello (Moodmusic, WaziWazi, NeoVinyl).
For the A-Side, Jorge Takei and Sello team up and deliver a deep slow-jam, driven by warm, raw
drumwork and slowly builds into a soulish, 90s vibed vocal roller, that will drown you in a hot-tape-
salad. Going further more onto the dancefloor after 2am, Thomas Sonora's B-Side "Be Free",
comes with a straight groove aimed directly at the golden era of the loop. Constantly building, the
jam finds its relief when finally you're left with the full wonderful groove.
We see it as a new beginning, joining forces into a strong labelfamily, a sound rooted in funk and
classical house jams - we hope you dig it as much as we do.

Canadian producer Clarian delivers three melodic house numbers on his new 'Kill For Love EP' on Anjunadeep, supported by Sasha, Guy Gerber, Axel Boman and Lee Burridge.

Previously one half of Footprintz, Clarian has released on on Visionquest, Turbo, Life and Death and Culprit as a solo artist, not to mention his acclaimed collaborations with Guy Gerber and Seth Troxler. When not A&Ring Troxler's Soft Touch imprint, a discography he's inaugurated with this 'If There Light At The End' release, Clarian is a prominent figure in Berlin's nightlife scene when he's not trotting the globe between Paris, Dubai, Montreal, New York and London.

First up 'Kill For Love' kicks off the package with tantalising keys and mournful vocals, wrapped around a surging acid bassline. 'Lucid Dreamers' employs yet more acid licks and ebbing chords, whilst a spoken word sample floats softly above elegant rising melodies. 'I Was Born In Outer Space' concludes the EP with a trippy journey through otherworldly pads, undulating bassline and as a heady vox sings blissfully throughout.

Born in the distinctively Puerto Rican neighborhood of Lincoln Park Chicago, Ricardo was named after legendary Salsa singer Ricardo Ray. After major Puerto Rican displacement (urban renewal) Ricardo's parents settled in the Noble Square section of West Town for many years.

His music reflects a traditional House culture that goes beyond just sound or legendary stories. While his industry peers recite fond memories of The Music Box, The Bismark and other musical institutions - Ricardo sat in front of a big Pioneer Radio listening & recording mixes from Chicago radio stations WRRG, WBMX AM/FM & WGCI which included a hefty dose of early House Music, Italian Imports and Electro. But, it was the new sound of Chicago House that made a profound impact on his soul.

As a thirteen year old, when not infuriating teachers by pounding House beats on his desk, he was creating crude pause cassette tapes to a wood panel tape deck. Then in 1986 Ricardo got a taste of producing when his older brother brought home a newly introduced Casio RZ-1 & Casio CZ1000. Even though he was forbidden to touch the equipment it was the main thing he looked forward to whenever his brother was away. Later that year he was passed down some rough dj equipment from a dj friend which gave Ricardo the opportunity to play all the records in the household.

When the time came to pursue his artistic passion professionally, Ricardo created hundreds of rough tracks to ready himself. A chance meeting with musical genius Glenn Underground led to his assistance on Ricardo's first single "Termino Mi Amor" which Louie Vega signed almost immediately. As his knowledge and experience continued to grow, Ricardo began to create many memorable compositions on various labels even as the industry was undergoing major changes.

Currently, Ricardo is charted on endless playlist under his many guises: the Latin Soul Brothas, Yonurican, Defend:R,

After three years in the making and a lifetime of mutual respect, we are proud to welcome Todd Terry to join our list of legendary House Masters, with an album covering the sublime highlights from his incredible back catalogue.

With this anthology, Todd takes his rightful place amongst the likes of Masters At Work, Frankie Knuckles, Dennis Ferrer, Bob Sinclar and Heller & Farley on the House Masters roster: artists who represent house music at its innovative, pioneering best.

Included on his House Masters album are early underground tracks such as 'A Day In The Life', 'Weekend' and 'Can You Party', which at the time captured people's imagination and are now considered genre-defining classics. Global crossover anthems 'Keep On Jumpin' and 'Something Goin' On' were essential additions to the album; both tracks were pivotal moments in Todd's career and the wider house music landscape. Meanwhile Terry was skilfully balancing commercial remix work (such as the iconic Everything But The Girl's 'Missing', the first track on this compilation) with pure artistic projects and developing the generally deeper house momentum of his labels In House and Freeze. True to his ethos for always keeping things fresh and looking for the next new sound, Todd didn't want to saturate the album with only classic records; he has included more recent tracks such as 'You Make Me Happy', 'Ready To Go' and 'Drop That'.

Taking in his various collaborations, aliases and side projects, House Masters - Todd Terry has been curated to demonstrate every intriguing facet of his musical explorations. Adored by clubbers and revered by his fellow artists, the album documents how Todd Terry has built his longstanding reputation on surprising and delighting his listeners. The man himself says 'The album reflects the records the kids ask to hear when I DJ, some of the more familiar productions and hits alongside my newer productions. I think this is a totally relevant collection.'

This one has been in the making for a loooong time and we do believe you will agree it was worth the wait. TJ Kong has been releasing some serious vocal house masterpieces over the past year on Compost and other labels of fame, so it was only a matter of time before they ended up on WPH.
When it comes to vocals few do it better than Gustaph, the Belgian lead vocalist of Hercules & Love Affair and a close friend of the WPH family. Inside story: Gustaph provided non-credited (but paid) backing vocals for FCL's 'It's You' stormer. With TJ Kong Gustaph takes up the role of both lyrics writer and vocalist and does so to devastating effect in absolute perfect unison with the track provided by TJ Kong & Modular K. It's classic but very very fresh.

On the flipside TJ Kong & Modular K team up with French wonderboy Art of Tones aka Llorca for a trip into house music stabs & strings bliss. If the dream is always the same, we do hope this is the one you are re-dreaming. WPH TEN-3, niceness to the max!

Central's sterling Dekmantel Records debut is spread out into a montage over four sides of vinyl - DKMNTL034 & DKMNTL035. On the second EP, the innocuous playfulness of 'Tubelife', the soulful and brooding 'Detour King' and the jazzy undertones of 'Politcal Dance' are colorfully-plumed dance tracks drawing on jazz-soul and deep house knitted together with impressive precession.

Cahoots Volume 5 presents tracks that firmly stand their own ground. From the deeper A-side offerings of Definition & Def:Play and We Are Mam, to the burly B-side beats of Ruff Stuff and Jus Nowhere, Volume 5 casts a wider net, capturing new artists that embody the pioneering spirit of house music.
Zürich's Definition & Def:Play collaborate as producers and label chiefs, running their imprint Definition:Music, with a catalog of excellent talent and releases including their own productions. Layering dubby percussion with melodic chords and rich, atmospheric pads, their track Synthesizer On My Knees', is a deep venture for the duo and continues to stretch the scope of the Cahoots sound.
Music is the Message' by We Are Mam brings an old school flavor that will keep heads nodding from start to finish. Living in Tuscany with an eye towards Chicago, Marco Celeri, under the moniker We Are Mam, brings his version of jack to Cahoots with right and tight percussion against filtered keys, string stabs and sampled vocals. Chock full of classic sounds, Marco's inspired productions can be found on labels such as Back to You and Legendary Sound Research. Additionally, Marco operates his label Roots Underground Records, releasing underground cuts heavily influenced by the old school.
Flipping the script on the B-side is Grooveat' by Ruff Stuff with a stomping beat, warehouse vibe, and a magnetic vocal that bring grit with a touch of soul to the dancefloor. A collaboration between Francois Le Roy and Nanni, the Ruff Stuff sound sits at the intersection of House, Techno & Garage, with a lookout towards the new school sounds of today. Milan-based Ruff Stuff has quality releases on Layers Label, Kolour Recordings, Release London, Street King and have recently launched their vinyl label, Ruff Stuff Music Ltd.
Closing out Volume 5 is Shoot Back' by Jus Nowhere. Hailing from Washington D.C., Jus Nowhere is the first Cahoots artists to represent the U.S.A. His range of styles and sounds can be found on labels such as Silence In Metropolis, Definition:Music, Four Fingers Hand and White Widow Records. Shoot Back' consists of tight percussion, wobbly synths, clipped vocal samples and some heavy bass that will drive any room insane. A regular in the D.C. scene, Jus Nowhere is also part of 'Rush Plus', a techno focused moniker with partner in crime, Jackson Ryland.
