New Kid Sublime house fire... a quick 300... TIP!
Kid Sublime's 'Back in the Ballroom' series, a homage to the first clubs appearing and dance music like Disco, R&B and House was played. A tribute to 'The Warehouse' from Chicago on 'The Westloop' (hence 'The Loop' -side B), where Frankie Knuckles (R.I.P.) used to DJ as a resident. Beside the term 'house' derived from that particular era, the first Volume of the 'Back In The Ballroom' series is a record where Kid Sublime takes you back
to the dance-floor. 'For the fans of that timeless sound by pioneers
like Steve "Silk" Hurley, Frankie Knuckels or a nowadays Kenny Dixon jr..ready for another Kid Sublime classic B-boy House with that Amsterdam twist!!'

After the success of their first release Charmin are back with another high quality wax.
This offering showcases the talents of Florist and close friend of the imprint Tilman, all pressed up on heavyweight vinyl with a lovingly designed cover.The EP kicks off with Proof Nothing' which is a statement of intent. Deep, churning piano chords overlaid with delayed vocal samples all underpinned with a solid beat and deep bass. Next up Raw' does exactly what it says on the tin. This is a stripped down thumper with crunchy claps and an infectious groove. Once Again' has a looser, more percussive feel to it with machine gun snares rattling off overt the top of a killer chord line. Bringing things to a close is Mood Swings' which builds brooding atmospheres and eerie vocal snippets. All in all this EP carries on the good work of this exciting new label. Charmin continues its journey to bring you uncompromising, underground house music of the highest order.

Huxley & Shenoda are two of the most in-demand producers on the underground house scene and the 'Chatsworth Sound EP' is the pair's full collaborative debut. Long time friends and label mates on Hypercolour and Huxley's Saints & Sonnets, the duo have undeniable studio chemistry and 'Chatsworth Sound' debuts it beautifully.

Opening with warped, sweeping synths and a crisp hi-hat shuffle, 'I Don't Know' is the perfect marriage of garage shuffle and four-to-the-floor house thump, the spoken word vocal adding a classic Chicago vibe before heavy, metallic bass throbs take control of proceedings. Treading the fine line between heady atmospherics and straight up dancefloor appeal with aplomb, the female vocal cuts through the mix late on and adds a whole new level to what will surely become one of this year's house anthems.

The appeals of 'Premier' are perhaps a touch subtler but no less effective, as a Reece-inspired bassline gives way to beautifully fragile swatches of glimmering synths, before returning alongside a huge kick to lass waste to all who stand before it. This time the vocal takes centre stage with one of the most yearningly hypnotic refrains of recent memory.

Huxley has previously delivered releases for an enviable roster of labels (Tsuba, Morris Audio, Fear of Flying, Hypercolour and 20:20 Vision for starters) and has stayed true to his robust, bass-led strain of house music that reflects his formative interests in UK and US Garage. Whether veering towards deeper vibes alongside Ethyl on his own Saints & Sonnets imprint, turning in cast iron grooves for Tsuba or full vocal barnstormers like his lauded 'Let It Go' single for Hypercolour early 2012, there's a clearly defined but pliable and versatile sound to Huxley productions that marks him out as a truly talented producer.

Laurie Shenoda's rise through the ranks has been slow but steady. Like Huxley he has also produced for the acclaimed Hypercolour imprint, remixing an early release before going on to then unleash his 'Shots' and 'On & On' EPs in 2011 and 2012 respectively, the latter of which was cherry-picked for Mattias Tanzmann's 'Fabric' mix. This was quickly followed by 'A Homage' EP on Hypercolour off-shoot Losing Suki, described as "a new breed classic" by Matthew Dear, it received Radio 1 play from Skream and Benga as well as props from the man's usual peers including Jimmy Edgar and Axel Bowman. In addition to this collaboration with Huxley on Defected Records, Shenoda also has upcoming EPs for Hypercolour and George Fitzgerald's ManMakeMusic.

The 'Chatsworth Sound EP' marks Huxley & Shenoda's collaborative debut on Defected Records, and looks set to propel both producers to underground superstardom.

Time to welcome back a man like Recloose for his follow up to last years DOG debut Don't Get Me Wrong which got the likes of Mano Le Tough, KiNK, Tim Sweeney and Roman Fluegel all very hot under the collar. Matt Chicoine needs little by way of introduction having been releasing amazing music for two decades on esteemed labels such as Rush Hour, Peacefrog, Planet E and Sonar Kollektiv. Recloose continues to stay on top of his game, ensuring he stays in demand whether it be as a DJ, live as Recloose or as part of Carl Craig's Innerzone Orchestra. On top of all this the Detroit native but adopted Kiwi still manages to find time to provide the revered weekly radio show Hit It And Quit It on his home town of Auckland's George FM.

Title track It's Too Late picks up where Don't Get Me Wrong left off, melding a electronic freestyle jam which hints at a jazzed up version of UK bass with bouncing 808 kicks pinning down the bottom end and his Detroit influences squeezing their way into the fusion too.

You Just Love You heavies up the vibe with a stomping slice of expertly crafted filter disco. A tried and tested formula of course, but in the hands of a master like Recloose, the result is a fresh, floor-filling anthem chock full of peaktime energy.

Flipping over Matt treats us to some vintage Recloose-style business in the form of Backtrack. Bouncing beats, deep chords and vocal hits reminds us of the unique and brilliant music from his classic LP Cardiology.

Rosco Sledge is the alter ego of a rather well known Brazilian producer. Sometimes it works well for both a producer and label to create fresh directions with new projects. A place where the artist can explore different ideas and sounds. Rosco is well known as a techno producer working with Christian Smith and Laurent Garnier, but like all the best he also wants to make other forms of music. When he approached us with these three tracks we quickly grabbed them. They were then busted out for the first time at Burning Man by Ralph Lawson. The set was recorded and they created an instant buzz on Soundcloud. Lawson followed up the pressure with their inclusion on his Robot Heart Halloween mix, where they again sparked loads of interest.
The title track 'Frisson' reminds us of the tribal days of Tenaglia with rumbling bottom end and rolling drums, insistent vocals tell us 'It's Time to Get Down' and for sure it gets the floor deep down. 'Mise En Place' is a more upbeat affair with tight synth sequences, reminiscent of work by Aril Brikha, layered string arrangements and wispy vocals. A dub is included in the package for DJ use only as an exclusive digital download. Finally you have the 10 minute epic, 'Campari Shake' which returns to a heavier theme with growling bass lines and a vocal hook saying, "I can make you mine - make you shiver up inside" wrapped up in musical blanket of sweet rhodes chords. By the end of the session Rosco has proved his points - You will get down and he will make you make you shiver up inside.

Visionquest's Ryan Crosson, mighty duo Tale Of Us and the unique Aquarius Heaven all unite for the 'Into Later Habits EP' - the next release on the Visionquest imprint. A-side 'Angel' is a collaboration between Crosson and Tale Of Us, a multi-layered head trip with a moody intro of broken beats that builds with intricate textures until a rolling groove drives the track into another dimension. B-side 'Head Under Water' is structured around the penetrating and distinctive voice of Aquarius Heaven as he weaves a story of the importance of family and love. Beginning on a sparse, ambient tip with electronic bleeps and fx, the track develops with a hypnotic percussive groove that vibrates beneath the powerful narration.

One fourth of Visionquest Ryan Crosson had a creative purple patch as a solo artist in 2012 releasing the impressive, esoteric album 'DRM' and preceding EPs co-produced with Cesar Merveille. This year Crosson is on tour as V i s i o n q u e s t T h i r t e e n with showcases on the worlds most spectacular stages, including Timewarp, Glastonbury and Burning Man.

The Italian/American and now Berlin dwelling Tale Of Us exploded onto the scene in 2011 with their debut 'Dark Song EP' for Visionquest and have since become one of the most in-demand live/DJ acts in the business. Always bringing raw, deep, and emotive strains to their music, the duo has also released on other maverick labels m_nus and Life and Death.

Aquarius Heaven is an ex-Reggae and Dancehall singer who got involved in electronic music when he met insane trio dOP in Paris, 2005. Breakthrough track 'Universe' came on Circus Company in 2010 and led to a release on Wolf + Lamb, 'Can't Buy Love'. Recently Aquarius collaborated with Miss Kittin on latest EP 'Parallella Mundi' for Circus Company.

A third compilation of some of Larry Levan's finest work, all on one CD, with nice Keith Haring artwork sleeve. If you're not reaching a finger for the basket button / your wallet after one glance at the tracklisting then either you have all the tracks already, or you are some kind of weirdo. Paradise Garage DJ Larry Levan liked to tweak the tracks he played, creating his own tempo and atmosphere, a sound that extended intros, teased-out breakdowns and put the vocals front and centre. Includes classics by Peech Boys, Ednah Holt, Taana Gardner, Carl Bean and more.

'Starfist Lazerbeam' is the first cut and is a slow, purposeful house track run through with a slithering, laser like synth that constantly changes shape. Muffled, filtered vocals are hidden behind and the arpeggiated line eventually lets up and gets a little funky as the icy percussion ticks on. It's a real pressure-building track with curveball melodies that are as beautiful as they are weird. On the flip, 'Passion' has raw analogue drums, ticking his and trippy melodies all dancing round each other in old school Chicago fashion. A nimble bassline also dances around the mix, bring with it lots of energy, stylish funk and a real sense of playfulness. As always from these great producers, this is a fascinating release.

New York, early 90's, the haydays of the New York and Jersey clubhouse! With labels such as NuGroove, Nervous, Freeze, Strictly Rhythm, Henry Street Music taking all the spot light, there is Jovonn working on a small but sensational catalogue of music that somehow gets overshadowed by the popular releases on the mentioned labels. The honest productions, jazzy melodies and playful vocals (rooted in gospel) were taking things into a more musical, more spiritual way, lacking gimmicks or dispensable samples. For the real diggers, the true lovers of House music Jovonn always was a name to watch, a producer of some of their favorite NY house tracks, tracks that have a raw edge combined with a sincere human touch and pure underground house vibes. People such as Rex resident Dj Deep was a huge fan, and also collaborated on couple later productions with Jovonn. Slowly he started getting recognition from europe which resulted in a handfull of records on European labels such as Distance, Coco Soul and Estereo. Now after almost 25 years since his first release the man's small discography on his own Goldtone label and Emotive records stand out with his unique musical personality. More then 20 years after their original release dates these tunes are still very relevant and stand for many things we love about house music! We are happy to offer this selection of his hard to find early works remastered by Alden Tyrell.

Anything Eddie Ruscha touches is generally worth checking, and this latest outing for Lectric Sands offshoot It's A Lectric World is no exception. Ruscha kicks things off with the Electric Dub, an untypically funky fusion of his usual vivid psychedelics, exotic vocal samples, crunchy guitars and an undulating disco-rock groove. The Original Rub - all bubbling electronics, muted guitar licks and deep house warmth - adds a little Balearic disco flavour, before Ruscha returns to more familiar territory with the delay-laden and pleasingly out-there Lectric Dub. Finally, he reaches for the marimbas on the Pleasing dub, an afro-influenced blast of wide-eyed Balearic sunshine complete with lilting pedal steel.

Jamie Jones to announce exciting news about his plans for this summer's Ibiza
season very shortly...

Jamie Jones rise to the top has been a steady climb. The young Welshman was
always respected from fellow peers and artists through early releases on Freak
n'Chic, Cocoon, Get Physical and a debut artist album on Crosstown Rebels,
but now is deeply admired as the best in the game.

In 'Tracks From The Crypt' Jamie finally sets some of the best-loved dancefloor
bombs of the past five years loose from the vaults of his infamous studio. Tracks
such as the bouncing infectious grooves of 'Somewhere', 'Paradise' and
'Frequencies' are infamous from Jamie's live recordings, and others such as the
electro-clash influenced 'City At Night', 'Mari 2d Underground' a future
dancefloor anthem and 'Tonight In Tokyo' featuring Luca C are as yet unheard
and offer a glimpse of the future. Closing with the leisurely pace of 'The Lows',
Jamie shows he can stretch the capabilities of house music and has formulated
his own new breed.

Jamie explains: "This is a collection of my favourite unreleased secret weapons
from the last 5 years plus some brand new tunes that I'm hammering on the
dancefloor right now. Looking back in the vaults, I found some killers that people
have been trying to get their hands on for ages and decided to make my
second album a combination of these."

The past few years have seen Jamie launch his own pioneering label and
brand, Hot Creations and production outfit Hot Natured, forging his own path
with a highly original sound as both a solo artist, and with various collaborations.
His remixes of Azari III and Green Velvet were among the biggest tracks of 2011
and he has the rare ability to appeal to many diverse styles of electronic music,
championed by Pete Tong, Annie Mac as well as Gilles Peterson.

Named Best Deep House DJ and remix of 2011 in DJ Awards Ibiza, Best DJ and
