House News
Next up from NDV, the world is in a tailspin, the days of rags to riches story's are gone, but that doesn't mean we can't have a feast. A beggars banquet if you like. Mastered to tape hot and pressed to vinyl.
The record is about the warmth, the dirt and the dynamics - the essence of House music. Kirill Tipo opens the EP, a man who has had recent success on labels like 4Lux and Soul Notes puts his hat into the ring with 'Call the Police', raw and uncompromising power house music. Next up the mysterious Crue takes the stage, the masked producer behind the trio of coloured 10" inch's that had everyone's heads spinning.
He took some hunting down but when Beggars want their banquet, they always get their chef. True to form he strips the Dead Rose track to bits for his remix. Banger... ...nothing more to say.
On the flip side you have melodic synth class with 'Three Buttons' by Andy Ash, a track brimming with melody and groove whilst the production has an air and a warmth in its detail that really pulls you in.
Dead Rose Music Company delivers a super solid B side raver, a track with a bassline that shakes you physically even if you don't feel like dancing. Hands up!

It's time to celebrate our 20th release on Local Talk and we do it with a very special release.
Mike Sharon might not be a known name yet but trust us, this guy is going places and his EP for Local Talk is one of those EPs that lives up to everything we believe in when it comes to house music.
I Feel You is the first track on the A-side. This tune needs a full-side vinyl cut to transmit the punchy, masterfully produced rhythm together with the syncopated house chords and vocal snippets. A classic yet modern feel that's sounding right at home on Local Talk.
Can You Feel It is just like hearing Larry Heard in the DJ booth, taking things a bit deeper while deep pads and piano chords lift the track. A guaranteed weapon in any DJ´s bag in the coming months
Deeper is another lush groove, building up what sounds like experienced house music from Mike. The creative use of the vocal samples work wonderfully together with the 90's organ & classic piano gives the track a real drive and purpose.
A fantastic slice of house that we hope you enjoy as much as we do.
Local Talk is talking to you!

the label say: " Some think freedom comes with a price, others say freedom is a prize. Then you have people who claim "the best things in life are free It takes up quite some time and effort, or better yet- 'work', to sort out answers to these questions. One might feel cornered by such issues...
David Olivier Nerbl a.k.a. D.O.N. & Dr. San Proper wrote and recorded a sarcastic song last Summer which might give some relief. If not, check out Jacques Renault's remix.
One love for freedom."

Having taken a break from releasing on the Basic Grooves imprint, Shane Linehan returns to his native label with a straight up house music two tracker. Side A "Meditate On This" takes inspiration from Detroit styles. Moving chords, slammin' claps and a chopped up scat style vocal is what's on offer here. The B side "The Unintentional Dub" is a stripped back eehhhh, dub - true to the original BG style.

I first heard this track played by the legendary Huggy from Back to Basics in Leeds. I remember being stood at the bar at Space, Bar Rumba with Kenny (Hawkes)...We were mid-conversation and I remember him stopping mid flow and literally running to the DJ booth.
Now Kenny wasn't one for making public displays of excitement, and to be honest, I think this was the only time I ever witnessed it. But it floored him. He raved and raved on about it. Bought copies for me, and himself, over and over. I personally think it was the record that defined his sound and his style and sent him off on a mission...And the train sounds, well, those that knew him, knew what that led to......
It was his signature and his sound, and if there is one record that both Derrick and myself couldn't be more honoured to re-release as a testament to his legacy, a record that defined Kenny as a DJ, and a record that keeps that light shining, then it's this one. Viva the Dark Lord.

In the lead up to his debut solo album the Ten Thousand Yen label boss returns home with four essential cuts, with two vocal features from LA's Seven Davis Jr. The EP is led by 'What's It Gonna Be' which is already picking up early love in the clubs and on radio by the likes of Annie Mac & Skream. From the disco-charged drive of 'Together' to house/acid/techno morph 'Ghost Text' to the R&B lean of 'I Promise', the From Mine To Mistress EP is a diverse collection of tunes that really show off Daneeka's varied production style.

Five releases in and Ramon Tapia's Say What imprint has impressed and strengthened with each and every single, all of which have come from the label boss himself, seeing him turn out some of the most heavily supported house tracks of the past twelve months. Projecting enough weight to satisfy fans of his techier work, singles such as '411' and 'Y Not' have also brought Ramon support from the true house heads.
006 sees the Belgian team up with Russian producer, Tripmastaz, on two new and essential house jams. With a history of releases stretching back to the early 2000's, it was Tripmastaz' work with DJ Sneak's Magnetic Recordings in 2010 that really shot him into the limelight. Championed by the 'original house gangster', he has since gone on to launch Plant 74, his own label, and release music with Cecille, Be As One and Realtone.
Title track 'Jack' matches warm basement beats with an oldskool vocal sample declaring the death of Jack. Do not fear, this 'Jack' is very much alive and well and groovin' with a healthy dose of retro-feeling. On the flip we are treated to 'Boogie Freak', a locked-tight horn-driven filtered groove, where 70's disco meets 90's Cassius, garnished with the Tapia/Tripmastaz 2013 touch.

Hamburg duo Hauke Freer and Matthias Relling aka Session Victim return to Delusions of Grandeur with their second long player, 'See You When You Get There'. Right from the start it's clear Session Victim's way with a groove hasn't diminished in the two years since their debut album, 2012's 'The Haunted House of House'. 'Do It Now' and 'Hey Stranger' open the record with the duo's trademark blend of subtle sampling, gloriously swinging beats and the same off-kilter sensibility that consistently raises them above their modern disco peers. The new album marks a conscious progression in Freer & Relling's approach, evolving the sample-based production style that's won them plenty of fans since their emergence in 20
