Our little Dirt Crew sub label Spiel started out in late 2013 with three excellent releases, the first two by "Clancy" featuring remixes by "Urulu" and "Prins Thomas" followed by a stellar EP from "Mercury". After a hiatus SPIEL
is back for 2016. Renewed and inspired we have a bunch of both fresh faced and established artists on board packing quality releases for the year. With sounds spanning from Indie Dance and Electronica to Disco and spaced out Balearic jams, we're proud to present you the first of our outings for 2016.

First up is close friend and rock solid producer "Good Guy Mikesh". Out of Leipzig, Germany, he's the guy with the Perfect pitch, forward thinking ideas, an impressive discography of 12"s to his name, and a huge range of influences from funk and soul, to 80's new wave electro and back again. He's come to the table with four tracks we've been busting to share with you.

'Whim' is the steady builder. Spacious and very much alive with sliding leads and layers of analogue synths that sparkle, it's melancholic bliss, it's a deep breath inducing, dance floor lifting, thought provoking piece of beauty. 'Why Not' is something deeper, the bass slips and slides dancing with the top line, while a palette of plucked strings, tuned percussion and Mikesh's signature synth soundscapes reach into the distance as the track continues to roll.

On the B side, 'Cookie' is joyful, its playful keys and poolside energies toast to warm weather and good times. Bouncing arpeggios lead the charge in the break, rising before giving way to euphoric synthetic strings which lead us back into the elated refrain. 'Corone' hints towards Mikesh's disco history, boasting a burly bass and a funk all of its own, this indie dance shaker's got a solid groove and vibe to spare.

A listening pleasure and a dance floor treat, Mikesh's far reaching and assured musical vision is inescapable on this record. The perfect welcome back for SPIEL.

In October 2017 Honey Dijon was commissioned to take part in the Smirnoff 'We're Open' campaign, aiming to promote inclusive night time culture and celebrate nightlife's ability to transcend gender boundaries and prejudice. As well as appearing in the 'We're Open' TV commercial, Honey was asked to record her take on the initiative's ethos for creating positive change, making dance music culture a more open-minded and socially inclusive space. What resulted was a rework of 'Queen of Disco' Sylvester's 'Stars' featuring vocals by singer-songwriter Sam Sparro, who she collaborated with previously on her album 'The Best of Both Worlds'. Now being released on limited edition blue vinyl via Classic Music Company, with breathtaking artwork from assume vivid astro focus who also supplied cover artwork for the album, the entire proceeds from the release will be donated to LGBT Foundation.

Created with parts recorded especially for the 'We're Open' advert, 'Stars' (Disco Version), produced with the help of Classic head Luke Solomon and studio partner Lance Desardi, pops Sylvester's spangled party-starter directly into 2018. Previously made available as a free download to coincide with the launch of the campaign, the Cosmic Energy Dub, underlining Honey's acidic but sweet production, is followed by two mixes by one of her favourite producers of the moment and fellow Chicagoan, Cratebug. His Nova ReMix references the classic disco elements of the original, while the Supernova ReMix - exclusive to vinyl - goes fully intergalactic with a glorious squelching extended mix. Paying lip service to the legacy of a truly gender-redefining figure whose music is nothing but inclusive and empowering, Honey Dijon and Classic prove the power of music to inspire positive change in the dance music communities with this 'Stars' release.

JOHN TEJADA carries a reputation as one of North America's most prolific electronic music producers for good reasons: maintaining a steady stream of releases on iconic underground labels as diverse as 7th City, Plug Research, Tigersushi, Playhouse, Areal, Pokerflat Recordings or his own Palette imprint for more than two decades is one, the unabated high quality of his output another. Classic tunes such as Timebomb', Mono On Mono', The End Of It All' or Music For Doubles' prevail in Tejada's coveted portfolio, indicating an artist seriously committed to his craft. A member of the Kompakt family since the 2011 full-length Parabolas', Tejada has continued to fill the crates of demanding selectors worldwide with two more Kompakt albums (2012's The Predicting Machine' and 2015's Signs Under Test') and much-acclaimed EPs such as Lakewood Drive' from 2016. From the carefully sized floor stomp of the title track CEOL to the snappy momentum of PRELUDE TO MADNESS and AISLING's impressionist, melodic grooves, his latest 12' outing further hones an already unimitable sense for balance between driving techno beats

McDonald's long-standing relationship with Firecracker boss Lindsay Todd - dating back a decade to their joint residency in Edinburgh - has seen Lord Of The Isles records appear on both UNTHANK and Shevchenko, whilst he also contributed to the Scotch and field recording shenanigans of last year's Mac-talla Nan Creag album. Now, McDonald will now graduate to the main Firecracker label for a full Lord Of The Isles debut due in December under the name Parabolas Of Neon. Taking shape as a six-track 12'', the record features glacial techno and downtempo, cinematic melancholia, a fitting tribute to peaks conquered, whisky-drenched travelogues, warehouse parties, long drives and fried afters.

Markus Homm returns with another fantastic EP on Bondage-Music, he delivers again four rooling tracks with his
unique deep grooving and timeless style. 2soul EP - sound for bondage on the dancefloor.

Newly established Berlin-based vinyl-only label Dreiklang dive straight into the physical world with First Contact. The label's distinctive triangular concept is reflected in its name with Dreiklang pursuing a three-fold approach to electronic music. Each release presents three contrasting takes on the same source material, juxtaposing and unifying three particular electronic music sub-currents. For their first outing, Dreiklang call upon an international team of producers with OCH, Hydergine and Kelovolt dropping in for their respective shots of tech-house, dub techno, and dark drone techno. The tight three-tracker will see the light of day on a 500 limited edition run of 180gr high-quality wax with the beautiful hand-drawn designs of Berlin artist Nils Altland gracing each sleeve, transforming the covers into individual works of arts. First up on Dreiklang001 is Londoner OCH (Autoreply / Stuga Musik), who takes a simple keyboard line into menacing territory, steering the dancefloor towards the grittier ends of tech-house. A funky bassline leads the way as distant synths exhale in glossy metalic fashion and the road is adequately paved for the reinterpretations that follow. Second up, comes Hydergine. The Italian producer lives up to his brain enhancement drug name by dropping a smart dub-techno rework where mind-numbing kicks bring the listener on an atmospheric joyride through the deeper ends of narcosis. Kelovolt complete the triangle with an immersive remix where drone-heavy soundscapes take center stage for a delicately hypnotic finale. First Contact is out December 16th on Dreiklang.

Killer vocal cuts on Arcane.

It gives us great please to present Subb-an's first solo release on 20/20 Vision. Since his joint release with Adam Shelton 4 years ago, we have been very keen to get him involved on a solo release and the time is now! Since he arrived on the scene he has since gone on to become one of its biggest players, with a constantly jam-packed tour schedule and a loyal fan base. This is all down to his considered DJ sets, and trademark groove & appeal that accompany all of his productions.

'Modern Love' opens the release with a bouncing groove characterised by it's kick and bass combo. The star of the show is a wobbly acidic sequence that rears its head sporadic through track and is sure to create some waves on the dancefloor. This is followed by title track 'The Other Side', in which a collection of crisp and sharp soundscapes are combined with Subb-an's typical precision and attention to detail.

On the B side we then find 'El Otro Lado (Terrace Dub)' which showcases a slightly tougher and techno-orientated side to the release. Featuring a stripped back collection of raw drum patterns with big kick drums and sharp high hats. The release is capped off with the digitally exclusive 'El Otro Lado (Original Mix)' which adds a dreamy synth layer that complements the core elements perfectly.

Victor Ruiz is one of the hottest names in underground electronic music right now, and this 12' on Oliver Huntemann's always-reliable Senso imprint gives a pretty clear reason why. The Brazilian DJ and producer has been popping up all over the world in the last few years, and his string of amazing releases on labels such as Electric Ballroom and Sudbeat have cemented his reputation. This 12-inch is testament to that reputation - made up of four tracks of uncompromising, precise techno. Side A brings us Red Lights - a spacey journey to the heart of the dancefloor - tweaked and shaped for maximum effect on big room sound-systems. Dutchman Bart Skils steps up on remix duties to provide a sick Motor Speedway mix- somewhere between the Krautrock influences of Kraftwerk and the sleek techno of Detroit's 2nd wave. The flip brings us Nevermind - Victor Ruiz doing what he does best - exploring track dynamics within a perfectly developed journey - including an unsettling and trippy vocal that lifts the track even further towards the stars. Label boss Oliver Huntemann stops by to provide the remix - stipping the track down to his signature sound - deep and streamlined, yet full of emotion.

Khotin debuts the new alias 'Waterpark' on this aquatic self-released 12'. A club tested breakbeat dripper, with super pretty melodies twisting throughout on the A side and a mellow early morning dub tune for the B side. Recorded at Deep Blue in Vancouver, BC.

We are very proud and happy to present the new reference from Rotten City Records. After the releases with original works from Tronik Youth, A Jokers Bizarre (Jokers Of The Scene + Club Bizarre) and Dj Rocca, with great remixes from artists such as Red Axes, Timothy J. Fairplay, Justin Robertson or MR TC, now it's the turn of the Spanish trio Cannibal Ink.
They are Antonio Canca, Guillermo Iraola and Andres Navarrete. Fruit of the union of its old moniker Voodoo Corporation, Antonio & Andres joined Guillermo to look for those sounds that had frequented their neurons during the last years. EBM, New Wave, Industrial and Cosmic Disco are the palette of sounds that make up their DNA.
With releases in labels like Ombra International, and remixed by amazing artists such as Emperor Machine or Moscoman, now it's time to give welcome to these guys to Rotten City with an EP composed by two wicked original pieces full of electronics & dark ethnic sounds for the dance floor plus remixes from the mexicans Zombies In Miami and the lisergic italian duo Mushrooms Project. The first track on the A side is Samarkanda, a trip into the middle east. Slow and mechanical funk mixed with arabian sounds giving an ethnic touch to the darkness of the track.
After, we find The Souk, continuing the style of Samarkanda but in this case more narcotic, acid and deep than the previous.
On the B side we find the amazing 'Audio Guide Remix' from Zombies In Miami, and as the name says, it introduces us in the mode of a guided ceremony, in a shamanic ritual that will make us find our own fears so we can let them go on the dance floor letting us flow through much more exciting places than the ones our mind normally is. Close your eyes and prepare to ride. Finally, the remix of Mushrooms Project offers another good trip for the head. Longer, deeper, more narcotic if is possible than the original and retaining that ancient and dark atmosphere. Startling.

Berlin + Mexico based, but outer space destined, Man Power keeps his pants on for this VR floorshow, you might not though! Geoff Kirkwood's premier adventure on the inimitable Voyeurhythm Records (his first original outing since his acclaimed LP early in 2015) sends us on a serious electro flavoured journey to future times... imagine hovercraft trains, laser beards and rowboats in charge. Side A's Ruthvern goes in big with some hypnotic peak time acid action, while Wither pushes and builds the rap squelch even further, adding an epic saxophone section lifting the entire affair skyward!

Detroit native Mark Flash aims to create music that moves - and it does. From New York to Hong Kong, his electropic funk' (yes, electropic') is the lifeblood of the party, with rich and full sounds that seep straight to the partygoers' soul. As one of the few DJ's who masters keyboard and percussion, his excellent musicianship and keen intuition is a sight to see live and an experience to be felt. As a well-respected name in the Detroit techno world and an influential part of Underground Resistance, he is deeply rooted to the city where it all began. From a young age he began spinning at small parties, slowly moving up the ladder through persistence and dedication to his craft. After paying countless dues to get to where he is today, Mark Flash humbly holds true to the music he creates, continuously harnessing the fire and passion that has always driven him. The EP begins with CORKTOWN GROOVE (5:44), a smooth and lively vibe to accompany you on a drive under city lights on a Friday night. Bumping up the energy, ELMWOOD PARK (7:34) hits the crowd with colorful synths and fresh moves. As the definition of high energy, KAIRAD's (7:10) powerful base and dynamic sound is the apex of the night. To finish off the EP, the classic feel of DEQUINDRE CUT (6:25) will leave you feeling good till the next day. This EP is another fresh cut from the man who stands behind his music, handing you an experience once you hit play.

After kicking off the year with releases by Wheelman and General Ludd, we're very pleased to announce that Naum Gabo completes our recent trilogy of releases from Glasgow based artists. Alongside Ivan Smagghe, it's no secret that Optimo have been a huge influence around these parts and having released Ivan's Smagghe & Cross project on Belters last year, it's a huge honour to work with Naum Gabo - the production partnership of Jonnie Wilkes (JG Wikes of Optimo) and James Savage (Mastering Engineer for Optimo Music).Fittingly enough, Naum Gabo played live at the first ever Optimo related parties we attended at the Sub Club back in 2005 and Jonnie's influential and supportive presence has been felt over the years as we started to become more involved in the Glasgow scene and as the label developed.
So it didn't require much thought to do this release before we had even heard these new Naum Gabo tracks...they are absolute slammers of the highest order! Really big release, bringing to our minds the likes of Errorsmith.Belters is a new club-focussed label brought to you by Huntleys + Palmers.

Kaiser Sauce, a monster tech-y bomb with more of a techno soul but still with the jacking and funky energy rolling around Mamba Stamba, an unique tool of stop and go/ stop and go with crazy percussion drumming.
The special remixer is Leix from Novo Music - Lowertones. Stripping down even more 'Eyebrows raiser' and adding a nice and rolling acid feeling.

This is exactly what happened here, a special one-off white label remix of one of Disco's biggest stars by one of the founding members of possibly the most influential electronic music crews in the land Yep. For the uninitiated Loleatta Holloway is part of dance music's DNA, one of the most recognisable voices in Disco. Her tones have graced numerous club classics, she's been sampled 1000's of times, her vocal fingerprints are all over classic House music and are instantly recognisable. Remixer Pangaea aka Kevin McAuley is one of the main members of the formidable Hessle Audio crew alongside Ben UFO and Ramadanman. Rising out of the post-dubstep terrain of modern day England McAuley is a truly open minded DJ and producer pushing sonic boundaries and him and his Hessle co-conspirators have long been garnering respect from all corners since their inception as a collective. 'Stand Up' is a truly potent combination of two very different talents, fusing Pangaea's sparse, stripped back, minimalistic approach and Holloway's roof-raising diva vocals with the end result being a futuristic club classic in the making that gives an understanding, respectful nod to what has come before while gazing forth into the unknown.
Originally released as a promo-only white label, this remix has been wreaking havoc on dancefloors over the course of the summer and has featured heavily in the Hessle Audio crew's DJ sets. Gaining rave reviews on sites such as RA and with people literally passing out with excitement over this very special remix / re-edit it felt only right to give it a reissue on the label that serves as Loleatta Holloway's spiritual home - Salsoul Records. The hype is real on this one, do not sleep!

Underground Japanese artist Makoto Murakami comes correct with threee variations on one tracks, ranging from playful and skippy house vibes to downright mean and moody technoid pounders. Comes strapped with a rework from Luca Lozano and SJ Tequilla, safety at the highest level!

Memento is proud to announce a brand new maxi-single of the
extraordinary Lithuanian producer Mario Basanov, better known as Ten Walls. With this moniker, Marijus Adomaitis has been releasing a bunch of deep house gems, and has remixed artists such as Robert Owens and Hercules & Love Affair "Swan" begins with a smoky dramatic introduction, that in a rapid
glance become a obscure minimalistic dancefloor killer with a grueling bass line and unremitting hi-hats. Finally taking off with a gust of monochromatic sequences and a whirl of dampings.
In "Lake", after a dense windy evocative prelude, metallic percussion leave the footprint to the headway of a stomping kick drum and a mesmerizing bass line. Sedately flowing synthetic notes, filtered bleeps and rapid beads lead the track to a grandiose finale in which whiffle and wafts become an ubiquitous polyphonic pad.

The idea of purity is always recurring when talking about techno. Although purism has long been relegated to a mere excuse for fear, when understood not as vindication of a certain dogma, but as a way of approaching creative expression, purity is, as a matter of a fact, inseparable from the genre. After all, techno is something like the pursuit of transcendence - either visceral, cerebral or spiritual - through the strictly necessary means only. The search of the truest forms by just outlining them. All of this brings us to the story of 'Uniformity', Orbe's first release for Hivern. The 12 comes wrapped in a screen printed sleeve with design by Arnau Pi.

Instrumentals for both are included.Donatello alongside (his friends and fellow countrymen) Arnas D & Kastis won Sasha's remix competition which lead to them collaborating on a track together for Last Night On Earth. Head Honcho Samuel Deep returns to SlapFunk with a solo EP after almost five years. Three own tracks and one Ingi Visions (Julian Alexander & Samuel Deep) collab. All high energy club orientated bombs to destroy the dance floor!

FireScope Records, the scion of B12 Records, releases its first album from none other than its chief commander, Steven Rutter. The second credited solo release from Rutter, it signals another step away from B12 as he steadily builds on a singular vision of work under his own name. With previous releases on labels such as Warp, Soma, Delsin, ART, Buzz and De:Tuned, one of the original founders of UK techno is guided inward for this collection of 12 brand new tracks. Developed over 2 years, these tracks have previously appeared in his numerous solo live shows but are presented here for the first time as one complete narrative. The album, titled 'BrainFog', is the creative and spiritual catharsis of a journey beginning circa 2010, which saw the producer on a hospital bed, hours away from an ascent to the heavens and subsequently depressed and anxious while seeking liberation and escape through music. The daily battle with darkness continues today and this album is his emotions laid bare. Hauntingly beautiful in its fog-filled melancholy; it's our pilot's only solace on the lone flight to recovery. The opening track, 'Sleep Gives Freedom' is a slow, risky start for an album but pays tribute to that safe place which one can escape from everything that surrounds. Put this on to escape and be lulled into a walk through the fog. The following track 'Statuesque' stands tall as a classic techno tune — a stomper with lush strings, tough beats and a bassline that shouts loud and proud. Emotional and heartfelt with a smattering of percussion, 'Memories of You' is written for a best friend, an orbiting soul who is now light years from earth.
Throughout the album, the clouds of despair and decay are never far away, interspersed with bright but fleeting moments of lightness and hope. 'Cracked Reality' slightly disturbs with its sparse and pounding construction, before the decaying beauty of 'Degenerator' and its mirroring track, 'Oracle Unleashed', offer two perspectives to the same theme. 'Squad Free Force' throws back to early hip hop with its old school drums topped with an eerie spin and warmly wrapped in heaven- sent pads. The album's two quirkier compositions come in the form of 'Infinity Engine' and 'Takedown'. With a pure 909 techno sound, 'Infinity Engine''s incredible pads offer a path from sadness to elation and happiness. A different live version may be released later in the year. 'Takedown''s chuggy sideways groove further breaks it down — no matter who or where you are; there is always someone somewhere that wants to bring you down, sometimes it's yourself.
The album's last track, 'Hand in Hand' is probably the most upbeat of the album, and a call to take the hand of the one that is there for you, whether in physical or spirit form. The drums and pads start the track off, before a disjointed sliding bassline sets the scene for a top-line string. Euphoric and uplifting, it is a reminder to respectfully embrace all that which remains good in the world. As a punctuation mark, the final note of the track is a full stop that puts an end to the journey from brain fog to clear heart. About We Play House Recordings

We Play House Recordings - WPH - is the work of Belgian DJ & producer Red D. Started 10 years ago to release the music of his friend san Soda, the label had (and has) the aim to release house music in all its shapes and forms. WPH's house ethics date back to the days where house was just a name for music that was played in clubs. There is no such thing as tech house, no such thing as deep house or minimal, there is simply (house) music, good or bad.

We Play House Recordings is lovingly led by Red D (real name Bart Van Neste), one of Belgium's leading underground music figures. Be it in his role as DJ, A&R, promoter, music panel host or general nitelife instigator, Red D does things with passion, humor and a healthy dose of keeping-both-feet-firmly-on-the-ground...with a twist...

WPH was started in 2007, so it takes no math genius to know that in 2017 the label is celebrating its 10 years anniversary. Running from the spring till winter 2017 this anniversary will be celebrated with special vinyl releases, a triple CD, a digital compilation, a Spotify playlist and a series of label nights all over Belgium and beyond. True to form the compilation will have WPH classics but also a BIG bunch of new material from core artists of the label like Locked Groove, San Soda, Kiani & His Legion, Fabrice Lig and many more.

This was Savile's mantra as he sculpted his 'Compersion' EP for Mike Simonetti's 2MR and it's a mantra we should all subscribe to. It's come about through his introspective analysis during the creation of his most succinct and starkest exploration date.

''Compersion' is a record about wrestling my own beliefs, both personal and political. It's about experiencing the anxiety and absurdity of loving a partner and ultimately myself. The sounds, tempos and arrangements found here are the result of further experiments with editing tracks to their absolute minimum. I tried to work these songs like I am working on me. Less thought, more direction and purpose, less catering, more expression.'

And more detail; throughout every stripped back heavily-edited sensation the conceptual EP provides, the meaning and message is palpable. Each track title inspired by Jenny Holzer and Helmut Lang's revolutionary provocative, sexualisation of the art space in Florence Biennale, 1996, there's a tangible physicality felt throughout...

The heavy breathing rhythmic elements of the electroid 'Talk Smile Bite' and its bedrock bedspring funk; the playful switch between breezy broken beats and driving techno coupled with minimal sample craft and literal message of an instantly recognisable vocal on 'Watch Scan Wait'; the much heavier, intense techno pressure of 'Tease Breathe Smell' where the heart is on the sleeve and it's palpitating wildly with direction, purpose and true expression.

A smart concept from a Smart resident, Savile has achieved something special here; a provocative model a deep self-construction and, above all, three damn fine pieces of techno.
