In 2016 Simon Pitt and Alex Kassian formed Planet Sundae Recordings. 'Opal Sunn II' is their third release.
Part I was out July 2017 with Andrew Weatherall taking a massive shine to it, playing all 4 tracks at a gig in Barcelona.
It was championed also by Massimiliano Pagliara, of Ostgut fame. Opal Sunn is live-performance duo Al Kassian & Hiroaki OBA.
Formed in 2015, the pair have recorded countless hardware-driven improvisational sessions, puzzled together to create abstract musical journeys.
The aim is to transcend the improvisational magic of the studio jam and funnel it into the live performance.
Having played at Rainbow Disco Club 2016 in Japan & Atlas Electronic 2016 in Morocco,the pair took both excited audiences by surprise with their heavily improvised live sessions.

The next release on FCR comes from the duo Project 223, the brainchild of friends and music lovers Lee Grainge and Steve Bicknell. A true collaboration, the two-track 12' 'On a Mountain' displays the talents of both Grainge and Bicknell in equal measure without the 'push and pull' of their respective styles.

Both tracks on the release are minimal and full of intricacies that teases the work Grainge has done in Film and the developed output of Steve Bicknell. Be Free opens with a few mystifying words from 'Horizontal Charlie' and launches into an acid groove that forms the tracks infrastructure. 'Open your mind. Be free', the now familiar pitched down drawl of 'Horizontal Charlie' rings out and the listener is launched back into the acid groove. A progressive approach to percussion keeps the listener on their toes whilst simultaneously getting lost in this primitive approach to acid. With the minimal brutality of the 909 snare and clap, Be Free becomes off-centred as if its losing its way, but it rewardingly comes right back to the middle with laser sharp definition and undeniable confidence. Tell Me takes On a Mountain into darker territories with its falling acid bassline and clattering hi-hats. Similar BPM's and approach to sound-design delivers a coherence between the two tracks that presents the clear vision and focus of Project 223. 'Tell Me' feels mutated and warped as if you can hear the studio-session in which these two tracks were conceived becoming increasingly intense. Midway through the track, cinematic atmospherics and call and response vocal introduce a feeling of driving desperation that doesn't leave the listener until the end of the track.

Emotionally, On a Mountain does a great deal with its minimal and defined aesthetic which is hard to achieve with electronic music. Shrouded in an alluring sense of mystery, Project 223 tease the darkness behind their creation, leaving more questions than answers.

Leipzig's Salomo - who caught attention with his contribution to the labels previous compilation is now releasing his full solo LP via VARY. 12 tracker that provides an organic transition from house to ambient - suitable for club play, your next pool party or as a birthday gift to your mother in law. Conscious of it's inspirations, the record is a slight nod in the direction of contemporary electronic music from London, Vancouver and Detroit that still strikes with integrity & originality.

This 8 tracks album on double vinyl is a vivid depiction of the
Lithuanian artist top-notch production skills, his wise use of subtle
melodies and harmonic progressions, as well as his pointed dancefloor
instinct.

The first cut, 'Balboa' is a funky French touched house tune, while 'Next
Station' is a deeper excursion into esoteric atmospheres, laid back
drums and world of sounds.

'Rhapsody' is a fast paced ballad, evocative and profound, that
display Ten Walls´s trademark ability to deal with hypnotising
arpeggiated bass-lines, as in the slower disco-infected following
track, 'Rocky'.

The compelling 'Age Well' stretches out Jonatan
Bäckelie´s precious voice on a body of marmoreal drums and an
enchanting bass line .

The even slower reduced drums of 'Transition' and its bubble-chamber
dub gradually prepare us to the dreamy ride of 'INK' featuring the
vocals of Daddy was A Milkman).

Finally, the exquisite 'ReExtended' mix of INK melds an
orchestral score, Pop and electronic music with dazzling sensitivity.

Anagram Label follow up their 'Phasing Faces' releases with remixes from Efdemin, Lapien, Ryan James Ford and Terrence Dixon under his Population One moniker this December. Released earlier this year, 'Phasing Faces' was a two-part series featuring Anetha, Elad Magdasi, Mathame and Maukook, not to mention label founders Sinfol and Octual. Anagram have now tapped up four reputable names for a heavyweight remix package; Dial regular Efdemin, fast rising MDR and Answer Code Request act Ryan James Ford, Dutch producer Lapien aka one half of Delsin's Artefakt, as well as renowned Detroit artist Terrence Dixon appearing as Population One. Ostgut Ton's Efdemin opens the package with his immersive remix of Sinfol 'Trembling', incorporating pulsating drones, echoing effects and ethereal synths. Anetha's 'Acid Train' then gets reimagined by SHUT founder Ryan James Ford - the Canadian combines thudding kicks with mesmerising atmospherics as metallic percussion skips throughout. Adding further depth to the release, Rekids and Mistress Recordings artist Lapien remixes Elad Magdasi 'Two Floors' to generate a smooth aesthetic complete with serene nuances and soulful vocal coos before Rush Hour and Metroplex's Population One ties everything together with a deep house reinterpretation of Octual 'Dark Sky'.

Prince of Persia sound from the big city: The dusty twilight of day and night sets the atmospheric backdrop for the dreamlike groove visions of Berlin based producer Zigan Aldi. The track "Blue Hill" combines a compelling bassline with the enigmatic sound of a string instrument that seems to originate straight from the parallel World of 1001 Nights. "Rosa Martha" starts as a stripped-down rhythm tool with a rather dark vibe which then contrasts beautifully with a hint of warm House music bubbling up from the depths towards the middle of the track. Mollono.Bass and Pophop dedicate their remixes to the uplifting side of things, and the digital version provides two more exciting adventure stories for dance floor explorers.

David Gtronic is very well known for being a fundamental member of the famous Vatos Locos crew and for his badass releases on Dissonant, Kina music or Sci-Tec records. David was born in Colombia and he's now based in Berlin, from where he delivers this awesome EP called Kryptoo.A
Kryptoo is a minimalistic journey of rough, metallic, cosmic percussions and spongy bass lines. Deep pads and chords in constant evolution make these tracks a true hypnotic experience. Topping it up we Ahave Dan Farserelli remixing Sequence, probably the punchiest and most direct track in the album.

After the success of his recent comeback EP entitled Exiles EP, the Icelandic artist Cold shows us that he is here to stay and ready to make his mark in the international techno scene.
Dub Safari offers us intricate soundscapes and otherwordly chords which are impeccably assembled into five minimal techno masterpieces. A side starts with a dreamy voyage where ethereal pads seamingly blend with punctuating kick and a acid bassline. Second cut gives us a darker experience. A pulsating groove where chords and percussions offer an interesting sonic playfulness. B-side offers three minimalistic techno tracks ready for both the dancefloor as well as for dancefloor within your mind. Thule Records is considered by many to be a pioneers in the field of dub-influenced techno music and was a starting point for many of Iceland's most renowned electronic musicians"

Davide Squillace, the Italian DJ and producer behind the This And That Lab and Hideout imprints, has kept up a hugely productive schedule since the 1990s, and lands on Luciano's Cadenza Music this fall with the 'Goiânia' single release. Previous musical output on a multitude of labels such as Primate, his own Sketch Music & Minisketch labels, Ovum, Supernature and M_nus has also seen the artist collaborate with plenty; Guti, Martin Buttrich and Philip Bader among those who he has conjured up some inventive and dancefloor-centric minimal electronic music with. On the lead track 'Goiânia', Squillace opens up a highly musical pot of orchestral stabs and brass hits, morphing bottom end and freestyle synth licks, cavorting around a steady percussive beat to great effect.'Blossom' comes heavier in vibe, but maintaining the classical atmosphere developed on the EP's opener. Pizzicato synths play a call and response with dramatic strings whilst an electro tinged drum pattern and sizzling hats lay the foundations of a track with more than a nod to the classic house sounds developed on labels like Innervisions and Ibadan. 'Unit 9 closes the release, and Squillace goes on a Galactic ride through meteoritic bleeps and humungous pads for a cosmic and pacey techno number, dubbing it up midway for a most enjoyable ride and a fitting closure to a classy release on Cadenza.

Originally released as a highly sought after limited white label, Leftroom now releases the immutable 'Cultural Variance' EP from DJ Bone, comprising two original choice cuts from the Detroit producer.

Eric Dulan aka DJ Bone's production career dates back to the end of the 90s when he unveiled a consistent string of 12'' releases via his own Subject Detroit imprint as well as working with Juan Atkins' Metroplex. Recent times have seen DJ Bone collaborate with Deetron, join the Hessle Audio crew at fabric London and make regular appearances at the infamous Freerotation festival, here we see Dulan push on joining the Leftroom Records roster with a fresh two-track EP.

Kicking things off is title track 'Cultural Variance', a ten-minute progressively blooming composition led by direct 4/4 rhythms and meandering arepggio's infused with a high energy, up-tempo feel creating a typically classy piece of work from DJ Bone. On the flip we have 'Faze' and this time Dulan takes on an understated dubbed-out approach laid out over its near eight-minute duration with a smooth, gradually unfolding feel.

Decay Records kicks off 2016 with Frank Strom & Simon T's 'Extension' EP, accompanied by remixes from Hector and Yousef.

Pisa, Italy born artist Frank Storm has been releasing material for the past five years via the likes of Frequenza, Baile Musik, Sleep Is Commercial and Serkal, and just recently became a part of Carl
Craig's new concept events 'Detroit Love'. Here we see Frank join forces with Milan's Simon T for a collaborative EP on Decay Records, a growing London based imprint which is home to artists such as Franck Roger, Neverdogs, Alex Arnout and Geddes.
Kicking things off is the original mix of title track 'Extension' from the duo, a robust percussive led workout laid out over seven a half minutes with rumbling low end and swirling atmospherics running alongside pulsating synth flourishes and hypnotic vocal murmurs. Following is 'Winch' which takes on a more stripped back feel with spare distorted drum sounds, snaking synth grooves and eerie low-pitched vocal licks.

Desolat's Hector steps up to rework 'Extension' next and dismantles the original composition into a low-slung, stripped back affair via shuffling organic percussion, a subtly blooming underlying tension and dubbed out swells of the original synth lines. Circus main man Yousef then adds a more melodic edge to things with his take on 'Extension', fusing bubbling arpeggios and soaring pad lines with reshape snippets from the original track.

France's Julian Sandre and Italy's Mennie have both individually carved out quite the career over the past decade with the former racking up releases on BlindBox, Franck Roger's Home Invasion and E Wax amongst others, and the latter holding a residency at Tenax club in Italy and collaborating togheter on releases for Poker Flat and Housewax of late, 2017 also saw their collaborative debut as Jarau which came courtesy of the revered PLEASURE ZONE imprint.

Now returning for their second EP under this new guise the pair join the roster of Visionquest Special Edition with 'Saturn System' and taking the lead is 'Le Voyage', a snaking journey through billowing synth swells, jangling percussive chimes and organic drums before 'Dubhe' strips the vibe back to modulating resonant synths, shuffled stripped-back rhythms and lumpy sub bass tones.

'Adrienne' opens the flip side with the focus on a swinging drum groove as airy atmospherics ebb and flow throughout. 'Hypnotize' then rounds out the package and as the name would suggest relies on subtle nuances to draw you deeper and deeper into the intricately programmed percussion and smoothly blooming synth flourishes.

Next up on Aus Music is the welcome return of a good friend and label regular - the ever ascendant Marquis Hawkes. Having released 4 EPs on Aus thus far, he makes his return in the form of a blazing, floor-focused 2 track EP which sits neatly with previous outings on the label. 'The Basement Is Burning' takes it's name from a near-fateful experience stemming from an electrical fire in Hawkes' home which culminated in him and his family being evacuated from a 5th floor balcony. Having ensured the safety of his family, he made a dash across Berlin to make a 10am live show, a few days later with the power back on 'The Basement Is Burning' was born. The title track kicks off with splashy, live drum samples that are armoured with electronic layers before a feel-good piano lick glides into the mix. Bursting synths are introduced before ducking strings chords bring the track to an ecstatic conclusion. 'Tower Block Boogie' then tumbles short funk samples through bold drums as a fervid sense of tension burns throughout.

A special release for a special artist - this is Microtrauma´s newest drop. After gaining lots of attention for their recent output on Traum Schallplatten and Nick Warren´s Sudbeat label the duo goes back to their roots and presents the Juno EP. Techno with emotion - maybe the best description for the Originals. Remix works are coming from SQL (Trapez, Respekt, SK Supreme), Groj and Oliver Lieb (Bedrock, Yoshitoshi) who remixed Microtrauma´s first big tune "Aktin" which was released on Microtonal 005.

9 years on from their inaugural release from back in December 2004, Saved Records have now reached their landmark 100th release. Ever since SAVED001, Skylark presents Buick Project - "Chancer / Drop The Beat" Saved have stood as a benchmark for quality whilst nurturing new talent and pushing the envelope for electronic music as a whole. Celebrating the achievement in style, the Maidstone based imprint will be bringing together a mind-blowing collection of the label's favourite producers and DJ's, covering all aspects of the musical spectrum; from deep house to peak-time techno and will be available on limited vinyl samplers.

Saved 100 will feature original material from label bosses Nic and Mark Fanciulli alongside Saved mainstays Robert Dietz, Philip Bader, Stacey Pullen, Gary Beck and Alex Tepper. Mouth-watering remixers include Danny Daze, Frankie Knuckles, Joris Voorn and Adam Beyer with the likes of Subb-an, Spencer Parker, Terrence Parker and Mark Broom all also set to feature in a compilation that displays both the depth and dexterity of Saved Record's impressive back catalogue. The compilation will also come with an exclusive mix from Mark Fanciulli, serving up a label perspective from right within the eye of the Saved nucleus.

The Saved 100 tour began at Output in New York on January 3rd before heading off to Mexico for a stellar Saved showcase at this year's BPM festival. Continuing until April, it will then encompass shows in Tel Aviv, Dublin, Montpellier, Munich, Basel, Barcelona, Chicago, Miami, Detroit, Antwerp, Copenhagen, Toronto and many more.

It's been almost three years since Ressort Imprint label head Ekserd released his first and last solo EP to date.
Now - in late 2017 - the young, drum-loving artist finally comes back with a new set of tracks and even a whole new label.
DRIVE 99 will have its full focus on the tempo, the drive and the looks of the late 90s and early 00s, just the way Ekserd loves to play things on the clubs soundsystems.

Fathered by Lium, dj active in the Belgian new beat scene back in the late 80's, Cabasa is the continuity of his father's passion. Drawing influences from electronica to jungle and techno, his sound is an hybrid bass music genre. The will to make people dance has definitely been passed down though!
Resident dj for the Under My Garage party concept in Belgium and 199Radio in London, Cabasa is the kind of new blood that kicks you in the head: his sound is a threat, a menace, a danger to your existence.
He's also able to pick up the records you would never play out and make the crowd dance on a level you've never dreamed of. And should you give him that old synth you've never been able to get something of: he will use it and produce the most futuristic sound.

Tserg, the 25-year-old producer from the smallest country of South-East Asia, Singapore, has been creating music for quite a while now. As he calls it himself: Music is like my secret 2nd life, because I don't tell many people about it. It is my escape from school and work. Written over a period of 4 months, Forgotten Times is about the dreams we once had and forgot, the present moments that we forget to cherish and the ideals we used to believe and fight for but no longer do so. The intro is a hopeful track for the time when we started to dream. By the time we reach the outro, these memories have become fragmented and we struggle to even remember them. Thankfully, time travel has always been possible in our minds when we think about the past or future. This Transmat like production by Tserg brings us from the future to the past in Forgotten Times but the listener is free to travel in whichever direction they want.
