Following his widely celebrated Macro Habitat EP of last year, Santos returns to Dissonant to deliver another three tracks, laying down detailed rhythms that shimmer with the infectious energy in which the man has made his twenty-year career on. 'Garlic' is a roving thrill-ride that hangs on to the commanding groove as it whips through a dense landscape of sound, constantly moving forward with an energy that speaks to primal instincts. That leaves it to 'Invisible' to get deep in the dub, letting masterfully handled delay and reverb pulse out a spiritually enriching techno mantra. 'Cable' takes a different approach, weaving some colour into the mix. The rolling beat flirts with playful swathes of synthesizer and samples for a wonderfully trippy end result that delights the mind, just as it moves the body.

Im November 2014 fiel der Startschuss für Muna Musik aus dem Herzen Thüringens. Aus einer 20 Jährigen Clubgeschichte wuchs die Idee eines eigenen Labels, dessen Debut eine wirklich erfolgreiche Various Artist Compilation sein sollte. Das Fundament war gelegt! Klar wurde schnell, dass im 2. Labeljahr nun auch Vinyl folgen muss, ebenfalls im Various Artist Gewand. Gesagt, getan! Im Dezember erscheint die Muna Musik 002, auf der sich vier Künstler in 12" verewigt haben. Aaaron, Di Chiara Brothers, Guillaume and the Coutu de Dumonts & Douglas Greed lassen schnell erkennen, das hier keineswegs unter dem Radar geflogen wird. Wir können also gespannt sein, wie es weitergeht.

Den Anfang macht Aaaron mit 'The Upsetter'. Es lässt vermuten, dass Lee Scratch Perry ihm dabei Inspitation geliefert hat. Deep und funky rollt die Schiebe an, und kurz und knackig entfaltet sie sich mit einem Hauch von Dub und Reggae.

Track zwei stammt aus der Feder der aus Italien stammenden Di Chiara Brothers. Sample Y - Funky House und Breaks um anfassen und schreien.

Track drei liefert Guillaume and the Coutu Dumonts. Mit 'We cannot socialize' treffen Percussions auf Melodie, Eine Reise die uns alle mitnimmt.

Den Abschluss macht Douglas Greed mit 'Bobby', einem houseig treibenden Gebilde von Hang-Drum-Harmonie & Glockenspiel mit nicht enden wollenden Höhepunkt.

London-based producer Cera Alba pairs up with vocalist Zahra for a pair of tough tracks on Jamie Jones' Hottrax this June featuring a remix from Stockholm's Tiger Stripes.
Since his humble beginnings several years ago the Newcastle-born artist has cemented a reputation for consistency, with releases appearing on the likes of Hot Creations, Moon Harbour, VIVa MUSiC,
Avotre, Madtech and Gruuv. As a DJ he's been making regular appearances across Europe, including venues such as Watergate Berlin, Sankeys Ibiza, Brixton Academy London, not to mention festivals such as Hideout.
'Taking Over Me' is a dark and moody roller from the get-go. Robust drums and mesmerizing atmospherics form its basis whilst Zahra's soulful vocals and a cavernous low-end rumbles throughout to its rhythm as a piercing vocal and metallic elements ebb in and out of the mix. Tiger Stripes then provides a crunchy remix of 'Taking Over Me', distorting Zahra's vocals whilst incorporating tantalizing synths into his own stomping rendition.

For their next EP, Moon Harbour welcome back Daniel Stefanik - an artist who has been a core part of the family since 2005.

Stefanik is known as a master of intricate grooves, subtle sound design and compelling cuts that really get under your skin. He has put out four albums and countless EPs on labels such as Cocoon and Raum, and also co-runs the Dambala Experience label.

As well as serving up one vinyl exclusive, this EP features a fully licensed cover-version of Hardrive's classic 'Deep Inside,' which originally started as an edit Daniel made last year, but has since found its way into some key DJ sets and become quite in demand.

That track, still called 'Deep Inside', is a fantastically writhing monster with kicking drums, bounce in its bones and anthemic appeal in the classic cut-up vocal cries. Driving but party-starting, it is a surefire way to ignite any dance floor and it only grows more unhinged as it unfolds.

The excellent and vinyl only exclusive 'Another Year' is more stripped back but just as loose and fluid. Constructed from layers of vocal yelps, tumbling percussion and loopy sub bass, it all adds up to a supple yet wild jam that makes you want to cut some fancy shapes.

This is an easy to love EP that features two essential dance floor bombs.

Oosterwal is digging deep into the foundations right now. Hot on the heels of Dance Mania homage 'Bleep', the Rejected co-boss remains focused on the roots with two more Chicago-esque floor-heaters that nod to the seminal indelible legacy of Trax in their stark, direct ways.

'Elastic' is a visceral and robust construction where the angular bass hook is constantly modulating and articulating, mirroring the drum elements. As well as tapping into the warehouse-crumbling sounds of Hardy, it could also be likened to 'Erotic Discourse' with its metallic oscillations. A powerfully lean piece in isolation or a show-stopping mixing tool, either way, 'Elastic' can stretch minds at 50 paces.

Everything you need to know about 'Let There Be House' is hinted in the title. The quintessential sound of the mothergroove boiled down to its core groove fundamentals. Humanised rhythm hits, sexy rim-shots, staccato claps and a rubber ball bassline that disappears and bounces back with even more funk on every section... This sings to every generation with a universal groove soul and a hook that sits so well in pretty much any mix combination you can dream up.

Musician, journalist, radio host. In his works he is looking for a balance between the corporeal and the contemplative aspects of music. Sound induced by him can be described as something between techno, deep techno and dub techno, under a deep impact of broadly although not always explicitly understood ambient.

Raw District is Massimo DaCosta and Vernon Bara, a Belgian duo now making their debut on Moon Harbour with two fine original tracks and a remix by Italian Davide Squillace, who has a long and storied history of DJing and producing with label boss Matthias Tanzmann.

Raw District have been building momentum for the last couple of years with releases on Crosstown Rebels and Defected, and now come into their own on Moon Harbour. The pair who also run Homecoming Music previously released under a different name, but this new project focuses on darker club sounds that are truly compelling.

'Underrated' features disco soul vocalist Forrest, who delivers some attitude riddled rhymes in libidinous fashion as hypnotic synth stabs and rolling rubber drums drive on below. It is the sort of essential groove that will make whole 'floors march as one and is perfectly steamy and emotive.

David Squillace is known for his essential extended DJ sets at Circo Loco as well as current AV project Blender, plus his collaborative project Better Lost Than Stupid with Martin Buttrich and Matthias Tanzmann. His remix breaks up the beats into a more tumultuous and shadowy groove that is weird and freaky, with whispered vocals sounding all paranoid. Prying bass sucks you in and clever filters make it a dynamic and ever evolving affair that never lets up.

Raw District then come correct with the invitingly jittery 'Their Eyes', a smooth, deep rolling groove that evolves through a number of subtle peaks and troughs. Tumbling toms and sweeping filters bring the sort of drama that dancers love, and when it kicks again you can almost hear their whoops of joy.

This is a fresh sound from Moon Harbour and a fine debut on the label from Raw District.

Serge Devant returns to the forefront with 'Always On My Mind' for Damian Lazarus's Crosstown Rebels, complete with remixes from Kornél Kovács and Pirupa. First heard on Lazarus's Essential mix in 2015 and much requested since, 'Always On My Mind' has been causing tremors in its wake. Oceanic waves of melody frame muted vocals from Ali Love, resulting in a chiselled classic bridging the splintered sounds of today.Pirupa's remix is a shadowy monster with a deviant bassline, allowing the vocal to etch out shards of light. His recent groundswell is undeniable, mapping out a chart-topping string of releases on the likes of Drumcode, Desolat and Noir. Stockholm's Kornél Kovács has not escaped the spotlight in recent months, be it through his Studio Barnhus label that he runs together with Axel Boman and Pedrodollar, prolific releases on Numbers and Smallville and topping many end of year charts for 2015. His effervescent remix rolls up its sleeves to distill elegance into the original, extending the vocal and braising the beats and melody.
With this release Devant cements a triumphant year putting him back in centre stage after an accident that tore him away from the studio, and digs deeper into his production skills, adding to his growing repotoire of recent releases on Hot Creations' sister label Emerald City and Crosstown's cousin Rebellion. Devant mastered his craft at the legendary NYC nightclubs of the late 90s, Tunnel, Limelight, and Crobar, carving out consistently compelling and dynamic sets. His production career started in 2008 and soon spawned two albums, and a touring schedule that has since seen Serge circumnavigate the globe.

and Jena) put three EPs out since 2014 in the name of violet, yellow and black magic. These will reappear as a bundle titled - Magic
Edition on Freude am Tanzen. In other words: three 12 inches replete with profound house and techno which all contain that certain
Taron Trekka magic. However, the duo isn't spouting any cocky tricks à la Copperfield. They are rather like thimble riggers or card jug-
glers. The type of guys who surprise you when you least expect it. Those who have already outwitted your mind while you were still
awaiting the kick-off. How do Taron-Trekka manage this With perfect grooves that glimmer until late at night and beyond. Such that
create elegant, deeply soulful tracks which mix both of their various influences together as an original hybrid and magically release
tremendous amounts of energy.

Gabriele Mancino joins the Berlin based label for the first time delivering a fine minimal pack with two bouncy original plus a mental trippin remix made up by Andrea Ferlin week known for his appearances on such label as Sleep is Commercial, AMAM and Vinyl Club.

After building up a unique state of the art sound since ages- including records on labels such as Bine, Source, Modern Love, Uzuri, Warp and many others- Move D and Benjamin Brunn come along with a Single on Smallville to tease their forthcoming album 'Songs from the Beehive". The Honey EP takes a short trip into the world of two ultraspecial producers. Benjamin Brunn and Move D cut these three pieces from their ultradeep live jams and the result is magical. The deeply kicking 'Honey' is already proved by Smallville's Lawrence: 'How crazy can the panorama bar get!". His flatmate Efdemin prefers the 'Melons": 'Thats the deep shit for life!!". And Golden Pudel Chief Ralf Köster is amazed about his new ambient number one 'After the rain". The Squirrels from San Francisco are back and they're wearing white after Labor Day — pressing up a limited white-label 12", full of the throbbing electro, altered-states body music, and head-in-the-clouds techno you've come to expect from Squirrels on Film.

It wasn't long ago that a particular material girl declared that we are living in a material world, and sadly, that refrain now rings truer than ever. Thank God for the Material Squirrel, then, some unknown player (with a familiar sound...!) whose "Material World" is a devastating electro jam, elevated into the stratosphere by a bassline so big it's silly. Lokier, from Mexico City but residing in Berlin, comes after the anonymous Squirrel to present "Headless," a murky, slower tune with swirling arpeggios and whip-crack percussion that recalls the sound of Belgium and Germany circa '89-'92.

On the B-side, Billy Bates — an old-school San Franciscan with credentials in new wave outfit The Vanishing and the more left-field Autonervous — offers up "Got It," featuring funky percussion entwined around a squirrely (no pun intended) synthesizer, like classic jackin' house on some heavy psychedelics. Last but certainly not least is head Squirrel honcho Solar, closing out with "Anoesis" (defined as 'a state of mind consisting of pure sensation without cognition'), a heady techno escapade that slowly builds and unfurls across the cosmos in seven minutes.

Herbert: Monaberry's totem old timer, Super Flu's dear old Opa, house music's favourite septuagenarian and all round legend returns...

It's been a while since he last curated a Monaberry collection (his hearing aid kaput throughout 2015)The last time being summer 2014 with Monaberry's now-vintage '25 Years Monaberry' collection. But now he's dusted off his curating cap, gently leant his walking stick against the wall, shouted what' a lot of times, moaned about his clicky knees, yearned for the good old days and, finally, put together one of the Halle-based label's most beautiful collections to date.

Fresh out of the care home, Herb's first pick - Super Flu & Viktor Talking Machine's 'Plastik' - leads with the gusto of a man a third of his age: a twinkling arpeggio gazes up to clear night skies building in momentum with the beats and a pulsating bassline. Laced with a dramatic breakdown, you'd be advised to stash this one for the next festival marathon.

The melodic tech textures continue as Herb welcomes Boston's Robot Love to the Monaberry fold with the touching slice of anthemia that is 'Numbers Station'. A clipped hook gently persists with chiselled insistency. Timeless and driving, Herb tells us he picked it because it's great to walk around the supermarket really really slowly to. We love it because it will take your dancefloor to a whole new level.

Last spotted on '25 Years Monaberry', fellow Halle hero Martin Waslewski returns with a wistful piano-primed stroller that sees Herb striding gently but confidently towards a destination unknown (probably the chemist to get his meds). No walking stick required.

Monaberry mainstays Hanne & Lore take old Herb (or Herbie to those in the know) out to the choppy tech seas late at night, sharpen up their finest synth hook and reel in a big one. Like all fresh produce, 'Tuna In' is crisp to the taste and will satiate the hungriest of dancefloors.

Having previously remixed Super Flu, Dortmunder Philhamoniker and Philipp Armbruster's 'Volkwein', Bebetta returns to Monaberry with her label debut, an ageless groove powered by soft chord changes, mild jazz textures and faraway crackles, it's Herbert's favourite for fireside chats.

Finally, Parra For Cuva brings us to a touching finale. Just in time for Herb's afternoon nap, 'Borneo' is awash with dreamy lilts, lingering instrumentation and positive chords. All brought together by shimmering guitar strums and cosmic ripples, listen closely and you can hear Herb smokebelching in sync with the splashing cymbals.

Respect your elders, respect the grooves, respect one another: 2016 is about to commence and Herbie's picked the winning soundtrack to break it in.

Wareika steps up for the Amphia's 12th vinyl chapter. The german trio walks off the beaten techno trail, applying just enough pressure on the bassline pedal to envelope your attention on the sinusoidal theme from Break New Sol, revealing at the end a rewarding guitar solo, hidden all this time under the crisp percussions. On A Train Again completes Side A, with its industrial ambient modulations steadily stabbed by the derailed cadence.

SIT reinterprets Wareika on Side B: a more dancefloor oriented take, with just a few breaks from the devilish rhythm, enough to give the crowd some time to breathe into the track's odd atmosphere. Wareika's playful harmony makes a great addition to Amphia's musical path.
