House Vinyl New Releases - News

This is the ninth EP on FireScope Records, the new sub-label of the legendary B12 Records.

Although B12 output has been the solo work of Steven since 2015-2017, this time he steps outside of the B12 name and releases under his own name. One of the founders of UK Techno, he has released on labels such as Warp Records UK, B12 Records, Soma Records, Delsin Records, FireScope Records, ART , Buzz and De:Tuned.

The EP entitled 'From Me To You' is all about the sharing and passing on of feelings and emotions from another place. It touches on sadness, joy and gratitude.

'Down And Down' is a Sombre Title: where is down and down to where Don't be fooled into thinking that this is another journey into darkness. This track is pure and glorious uplifting Techno but once again with an alter-ego of melancholy. A pensive string/pad line underpins the track, which is dominated by a glorious slide riff that takes the helm and propels it forward.

'Decliner Box' is manic depression in a music form. A very simple tune, it's about mental decline with some nifty 808 programming. It is so simple and sounds like 'anyone could do this' yet in conjunction with the moody pads, really captures the imagination and drifts you away.

'The Life Giver' is dedicated to the life giver and 'a power greater than me'. It has Rutter's trademark quirky drum programming, a strong feature of the producer's current output these past 2 years. Crunchy and almost disjointed, they all hold together. There is no real baseline here, but with a siren to the heavens throughout with pads and slide riffs interwoven, it becomes a tune of hope and emotion.

'The Battle Continues' is the third instalment in the 'Battle' series of tracks with its predecessors being 'Battle Within' on FireScope 001 and 'Battle Deep Within' on Touched - Music for Macmillian Cancer Support 35. This time, 'The Battle Continues' is a tune of two parts. Slow moving and very deep drums and percussion with emotive synth parts take us to
the first part of this ride. Around 3:20, phase two begins with a soundscape that reminds one of being on some kind of train journey of human suffering -- a train to a very dark place.
Finished in glorious yellow and white splatter vinyl with exclusive full colour artwork by Steven's wonderful friend, Sarah Sparkes.

Next up on BaumLPE is two Berlin based producers who don´t need any introduction, as always you can expect pure quality music. Two deep dub techno cutz with deep bass and atmospheric FX´s!

After Basti Grub's great remixwork for our latest release from Anna Reusch we are even more happy to also welcome this exceptional artist on board of our family. With his countless releases for Deeperfect and Suara the German DJ/producer doesn't have anything to prove anymore. We are sure you'll find your favorite out of these 3 great tracks.

'After the initial "Square One"sessions we felt that "Arpa" was less of a "teamplayer"and one that would be difficult to shoehorn naturally into position on the album. Where the album sounded more like breaking new(old) ground between the two of us, "Arpa"is the one that felt most like an expected outcome from these sessions. Purpose made for adventurous dancefloors, either on earth or in a parallel universe you'll find "Arpa"in 3 versions. The original with it's sparse BUT "all hands on the desk"arrangement, the chopped up and reassembled remix with it's static energy cranked up to the max and last but not least the "Plastikman BUT in the 60's..." version in "drum version". Once again utilizing a giant mixing desk for the arrangement, 4 hands(+ other free limbs), the percussive elements are let free to roam in what we call a "dj-unfriendly tool"'

2016 is becoming a year of many great artist's albums and the one from Jimi Jules is an outstanding example of a great house music influenced longplayer. There are so many different tracks that you can play out but without loosing their home listening pleasure. It reminds me of the time of a Motorbass or a Herbert album!

The 2nd release of the Berlin based Label Takatak Records comes with 3 tracks from Kala Zahnadu. It's his first vinyl project combining styles like Minimal, Techhouse, Electro Pop and female vocals.

With his debuting ep at takatak records mirek amachi brings a heavy 4-tracker where he combines variuos ambient sounds with deep and tech house in an almost familiar manner.

The Alpaka EP comes with four different tracks and shows the diversity of his music. All tracks are characterized by warm basslines and influences from different places of the globe. From the happy and harmonic Alpaka' till the more dark and dusty Camina' the artist takes you on a journey into his mind.

Syclops is trio Sven Kortehisto, Hanna Sarkari and Jukka Kantonen. First to appear on a Bubble Tease 12 in 2001, followed by two singles for Tirk and finally with the debut album 'I've Got My Eye On You' on DFA in 2008. 'A Blink Of An Eye' is the long awaited successor with 10 tracks of future funk. Ranging from the nastiness of 'Jump Bugs' to the fragile beauty 'Ray & Claire' it's classic Syclops all the way. Available on CD, and double LP via Running Back and as download on BubbleTease Communications via iTunes and Juno Download. Produced by Maurice Fulton.

Canadian Tiga and Finnish Electronic-Maestro Zyntherius collaborates again for the first time in about 15 years. Mostly know for the monster cover-hit "Sunglasses at Night" their new output is shorter (about 2:30) and states minds driven by a pop approach lost in underground music these days - trance infused, modern & one-sided.

The Bristol based artist Borai (Apple Pips, Brstl, Never Learnt) steps up for the next release on American based label Halocyan.
The opener, both for this EP and for in the club. On the Horizon is a psychedelic trip through the worlds of 90s deep techno.
Big pads and taught strings give way to deep beats, backwards edits and swirling synths that whisk the listener along for one hell of a ride. Dark Of The Sun is deep, dark and brooding.
This one is for those late night/early morning sessions....you know the score! Slower, deeper and deeper again.
Wetware is a sci-fi influenced bass filled dubbed out affair that just keeps rolling.

Following a splendid album release from Falke earlier this year, now comes a remix selection that linked friends and personal idols: Samo Dj, Vakula, Perm & Ergin Erteber (1/2 of Things From The Basement). Utilising the original stems to rebuild unique characteristic jams. 'O.N.G. - Versions' satisfies with hypnotic percussions, etheral grooves, varied velocities and cryptic 80s references.

Hot on the heels of his smash hit 'Get Beasty' EP released in February this year, Hot Creations favourite Patrick Topping is back with another superb release in the running to be his most successful yet! The 'Boxed Off' EP features three dance floor bombs, just as we've come to expect from talented youngster, all with that signature Patrick Topping sound yet each completely unique. 'Forget' is potentially his biggest track yet, a staple of Jamie's current sets it's truly infectious and set to be feature heavily at WMC this year. 'Boxed Off' is menacing, rumbling & dark heads-down affair whilst 'Schwicked' is another hooky as hell bomb from Patrick. Another killer three track EP from Patrick Topping, who seems like he can do no wrong at the moment!

Patrick Topping impressed us all with his debut EP 'Walk On', with his tracks being championed by Jamie Jones, Lee Foss and the Hot Creations crew. His next EP 'Any Amounts' was one of the biggest releases of the year for Hot Creations. More recently his 'Get Beasty' EP was released, receiving masses of support including regular plays on Radio 1 from the likes of Annie Mac and Pete Tong who crowned him as a 'Future Star' on his show.

Alongside releases on his home label Hot Creations he has a track coming out on the Defected Miami CD and remixes on the way for Circus Recordings and Resonance Records.

The release "Montes y Culebras" was written to symbolize the eternal cycle (ourobouros) and the power of our will to overcome all obstacles. It is dedicated to the importance and necessity of challenge and obstacle in all existence. In Maya culture the serpent is the vehicle to transport our celestial bodies across the cosmos. The number of printed records is 333, which represents the trimurti or the trinity, the 3 forms of the divine present in all humans.

The third release on Local Raider!

Driving forward with 4 deep and sexy grooves from 4 very different types of artists, all from different parts of the globe.

Sheik 'N' Beik are a NYC based cohort specialising in promotion, production and outletting leftofcentre slices of electronic music. With previous releases from family members Derek Marin, Voiski and Peter Corvaia their 4th release comes courtesy of Danny Wolfers (a.k.a Legowelt) working alongside Rush Hour regular Xosar under their Xamiga alias.

With this being Xamiga's 3rd release, the pair draw for their trusted arsenal of analogue gear and offer up the 'Bohemian Grove' EP; a woozy brew of foggy textures, gently frazzled hats and Detroitindebted grooves. The title track kicks things off with glassy pads sat atop a longtailed thud and a sandy shuffle. A distant bass groove wades in ahead of a passage of intricate, bandpassed percussion and a circling synth line before 'Cumulus Versie' sets sheets of ethereal vocals and synth strings gently ducking under a taught analogue pulse. 'Midwest' then sets hissing kicks and frayed hihats alongside a rasping bass tone. Pitchbent synth lines then bubble into focus before 'Blizzard' sets a dystopian tone from the off. A stout kick drum thunders under minorkey chord shifts and a menacing sequence that works to round off another fine addition to the Sheik 'N' Beik series.

Adroit Recordings is pleased to present the first EP from the famous Nordstern Club resident Artist, Gomorra. Already appeared a while ago on Be as one imprint from Shlomi Aber, and other Labels. He offer four original tracks with a defined and underground sound.

For the 89th vinyl release on 100% Pure we gladly welcome GREG GOW and MORGEN POTTRUFF.

Toronto-based Greg Gow is one of Canada's leading Techno electronic dance music artists. His international stature is well established and growing rapidly - as a DJ, producer, promoter and label manager. He has represented Toronto at the Miami Winter Music Conference annually since 2004, played the legendary Detroit Movement Festival on the Torino Stage in 2010 and has made many well received appearances in the USA, Mexico, South America and Europe. He has also been producing for over a decade, combining analogue and digital equipment to compose banging yet soulful Detroit Techno.

Morgan Pottruff has earned his living as a professional composer and sound designer in the gaming industry for many years, but always maintained his love for the underground through his collaborations with Greg Gow. He also teaches electronic music production at Metalworks which is not only Canada's top audio school but the country's most famous studio.

This dynamic duo has produced an instant classic for 100% Pure, a true Detroit Techno anthem.

REBIRTH: The warm groove and spellbinding melody make this epic tune, that transcends the mundane. It perfectly captures a universal vibe that connects everyone who loves electronic dance music. 'Rebirth' penetrates your soul and moves your heart. Goosebumps guaranteed.

REBIRTH 2000 AND ONE'S CLASSIC DETROIT RE-WORK: It's a quintessential expression of 2000 and One's producing skills that he can rework a track so radically, while maintaining the absolutely timeless essence of the original. With this Classic Detroit Re-Work he has created a masterpiece, establishing once again his status as one of the Dutch Masters reborn.

Inspired by the early white label house music releases.

Vinyl only, limited copies, no digital promotion.

The first record in 9 years from Irish talent Ikeaboy - two bleepy techno tracks and 'Dayna' finally seeing a vinyl release.

It's taken over two-decades - legendary UK Techno label Ferox enter their 24th year with a 4 trackerAfrom fellow Brit KIRK DEGIORGIO. Beholden looks both to the future with influences from Kirk's seminal MACHINE events which he hosts with Ben Sims, and the illustrious past of deep melodic UK Techno which he shares with Ferox owner Russ Gabriel. It continues a resurgence of lush, harmonic techno that once dominated the electronic music scene and which is now findingAa fresh, young audience. Expansive chords, delicate melodies and intricate grooves are once again on the cutting edge agenda.

Castanea record is pleased to present its eighth release by Lowris. The ep includes two original tracks and a solid remix by the eclectic Romanian duo SIT.

Amsterdam based label Indigo aera is in the middle of branching out with a new sub-label after establishing itself over the last six years. The label will recently launched a new chapter called ÆX. It will put out hand stamped, various artist EPs from a mixture of befriended artists who are considered all inner family members of the label.

Like the main label, ÆX is run by Jasper Wolff & Maarten Mittendorff who will also release their own tracks on it. But the main focus is creating a place where friends and more established names share their ideas about experimentation and techno music. Receiving loads of music from friends and their surroundings made them want to create a new platform. The first five EPs are all done and will be released late 2017, with an analogue and Detroit sounds often underlying them all.

On the fourth disc the a-side is fully covered with the second appearance of Amsterdam producer KAAP. Known for his long live jams on his own imprint Working Titles he does the same right here. 'Phisiks', over 14 minutes long is a warm and dubby melodic builder that perfectly fits in the ÆX catalogue. On the b-side Ocke W strikes again with a slamming percussive jam. The EP finishes with Taupe who is following up his track on the third chapter, here again an energetic Detroit-esque techno trip.

As spring casts its glow over the barren and fissured valley, the whiskered sciurine known as RvS can be seen emerging cautiously from its burrow opening, out into the crisp hillside breeze. Revitalised from her slumber, she lets out an abrupt and shrill chirp that seems to declare all at once, "it's party time and boy do I have a corker for you", one that reverberates across the landscape permeating every bush, branch, pasture and crag, where lifeforms large and small may otherwise be spotted scuttling in their daily forage. The other beasts awaken, and realise that 'it is time'. With some dexterity and slight of paw, the RvS rodent produces a shiny black disc from the folds of her fur and flings it high into the heights of valley, exploding into a rainbow bursting with every emoticon known to the internet, thereupon thundering the sounds of Asadinho's 'When We Come To It' across the streams and tree-lines. Commencing with the Silverlining remix, then the Original, then the track titled Koppaitch, each member of the wildlife community remains hypnotised with this incomparable detonation of sparkle, rhythm, and the poetics of the mighty Maya Angelou. As the display descends into the foliage and dissolves away, the RvS scriurine pauses to compose herself then retreats to her work cave to get working on the next of these black discs and the wildlife convention she calls The RvS Weekender.

First we start with The Flip a proven mystical track for heated dancefloors, pulsating beatz and ephimeral vocals travel through fine pads and chords. Then Martin Bellomo goes from minimal housed early after hour "La Docta 2040" to peak hour effusive sounds, beloging to "La Volpe". The Flip EP is a journey of feelings, just like a regular night out in the city.

Originally a cassette release on Wil-Ru Records in 2011 CN's "The Expedition Beyond" is a musical narrative that chronicles the astral travels of a star-craft and it's crew through the outer reaches of the Galaxy. 10 tracks of cosmic acid funk, drifty nebulous synth-scapes and robo-centric electro (Produced by Stian Gjevik around the same time as his classic "Utrecht" release as EOD).

Guy Gerber returns to his own RUMORS label, with his first release since the success of last summer's 'Rumors On The Dancefloor' EP. 'Secret Encounters' is a hot doubled header of two killer productions by Guy.
Guy's RUMORS label has quickly established itself as a breeding ground for innovative and progressive techno, thanks to it's steadily-growing catalogue of high calibre productions. 'Secret Encounters' is Guy's first solo EP on RUMORS, and more than lives up to the high standard he's set for the label.
Featuring lead track 'Secret Encounters' and B side 'Full Circle', the EP strongly channels the atmosphere that Guy aims to create at his RUMORS event series and Ibiza residency; the producer previously revealed snippets of both tracks to the public in a recorded mix live from RUMORS at Destino earlier this summer.
Despite his increasingly busy touring schedule, the 'Secret Encounters' EP proves Guy's love for the studio is as strong as ever. His attention to detail shines through across both tracks, each of which fit in perfectly with the kind of dark, enigmatic house and techno that has become the hallmark of the RUMORS brand.

Things have been heating up on Lee Burridge's smouldering Get Weird label in the last year. Picking up serious momentum with a consistent flow dispatches from the likes of Dance Spirit, Hauy, Superlounge, Tim Green and more, each release has been a startling jolt from the all-too-comfortable road-middle into more diverse, uncharted pastures deep in the sweet spot between house, techno and electronica.
This next release from brand new artist Kaled is certainly no exception. Get Weird Get to know...
Tunisian Kaled shows depth, range and rudiments beyond his early-man status. A deep musical spirit with a penchant for poignancy, taste for theatre and strong sense of restraint, there's a timeless evocative feel running throughout each of these three unhurried, subtly-orchestrated gems.
'The Field & The Sun' sets the scene; a palpitating progressive beat is laced with strident string strikes that build layer upon layer, creating a cushion for a goosebump-inducing late-entering piano line. 'Nemo', meanwhile, finds itself in the midst of another swooning set of strings. Ignited by a percussive pebbledash and leading with the distinctive middle eastern instrumentation, the backbone is maintained by a devilishly simple and hypnotic synth riff that holds everything together.
Quite whether you'll be able to hold yourself together during the finale 'Midnight Sun' is another question. A powerful, mourning stomper that really pulls with its pink sky melancholy, slow-burning string chords, rising synth line and subtle counter melodies, it's that unifying set-piece you didn't even know you were looking for.
Classy, measured, dramatic; 'The Field & The Sun' is a confident opening move that leaves us wanting more. Get Weird Get involved...

2DIY4 ("to die for"), the sublabel of Diynamic Music, is embarking onto a new journey. With this forthcoming release 2DIY4 is starting a new chapter in its history, turning away from the classic 4/4 House formula and towards new, outstanding and sincere Indie Downtempo Electronica music.

With a highly artistic approach, it aims to paint a holistic picture that shapes its identity with all inherent components - sonic and visual. The golden thread that runs through it all is the question "what would you die for" - creatively replied to by the artists.

The first artist under the label's new identity is Lunar Plane, consisting of identical twin brothers Emre and Mert from Istanbul. They answered: "We would die for each other, so the first thing comes to mind is twinhood." Together with LA-based October's Child on the vocals, they deliver the first of many chilling Electronica EPs for 2DIY4.

Madteo continues his assault on banal club music on the second issue for his own imprint, M.A.D.T.E.O Records. Hacking rhythms chug across Side A like a ghost train creeping through the toxic haze in search of its next passenger. Flip over the wax for a descent into the sub atomic - harsh ambient frequencies orbit gut-wrenching bass. Seek shelter!

Spring has sprung... which means BBQ season is here! Our annual grill-orientated tour is in full swing and as no Dirtybird BBQ would be complete without some tunes, this year's soundtrack is 'Dirtybird BBQ: Secret Ingredients'.
We kept it stacked just like our BBQ plate, with music from Dirtybird Shiba San & Will Clarke, DJ Glen, Sébastien V and Seumas Norv.

The free will of Struments has led them to concentrate in one 12inch the encyclopedic knowledge of Marc Pinol, a duo of kids that present themselves as T.A.L., and the responsible for all that, Spastor, that appears in a remix signed by Florian Kupfer. Lliure Albir sounds as if Pinol was dazzled by the light of a lantern in a chill out while Paranoid London resound in the next room. In his remix, Palms Trax bet on tom toms and certain tribal groove, adding soft eighties keyboards, deep atmosphere, speeches and dub deliriums that perfectly fit in the freak universe of Pinol. Florian Kupfer remix made of Spastor's Death In La Paz: a hit made in the German musician style whose groove is created by a fold in the sound and the apparent imbalance it has with the bass drum. If after this dawn breaks, it will not be small thing. T.A.L. are guided by a retro-spatial pulse to open a fan of sounds that expands and contracts threateningly, and delicately form what looks like an EBM hit stripped of the hammers.
