The next Pastamusik Release in September is coming from Borrowed Identity.His musical upbringing was a melange of ethnic music from friends, weird stuff from local libraries and whatever else he could find in record stores and on the internet, this explaining the fact he makes anything from classical to ambient, house to techno, experimental to electro, hiphop to pop music.
Never content with one musical genre, but always focused on making music with heart and soul, his releases demonstrate a broad musical range and a wide taste.His new Release on Pastamusik goes from Classic House, Dynamic Techno to Acid-Jack. Styles and applying them to dynamic arrangements that showcase a confident set of studio skills and a deep understanding of what excites the expectant dancer.

Aus follow up Huxley's debut career album and Gerry Read's '3 2 1 EP with their 72nd release and the first contribution to the label from Toronto born Bwana. The Leeds based producer expands on the amorous brand of Bass he's built his reputation with and turns in his 'Flute Dreams' EP; an iridescent packet that sits comfortably in big room spaces and comes bolstered by a remix from Simian Mobile Disco. The title track crescendos behind a thrumming kick and chirping melodies as it gathers luminous tones and textures throughout. Simian Mobile Disco then weigh in and drive clipped acid patterns under hustling drums in a tense and capacious rework. 'Fizzle' unfolds behind shimmering synth patterns and stout toms before 'Aomame' lays a saturated thud under more flaring synths that bloom alongside steadily strengthening drum patterns that bring another Aus coup to a close

'AUS Music ready a double vinyl remix package from Cassy's debut album,'Donna' which came out in June 2016. With 'Donna' we hear a more personal side of Cassy. Co-produced by her soul brother' King Britt, Cassy reconnects with her vocal talentwriting lyrics and singing on all tracks but one, making the album an intimate journey from the soul. Cassy has en-listed some of her most respected peers, all of whom have put their own stamp on the original tracks. This makes the remix package the perfect contrast to the album, and also proves that Cassy's original music has the seal of approval from some of the finest house and techno heavyweights on the circuit today. Marcel Dettmann adds an endearing edge to move 'Move', whilst Ron Bacardi picks up an undeniable pace on 'All I do'. 'Feel' is taken on a cosmic journey with Onsulade's Yoruba, and Radio Slave gives 'Keep Trying' the remix treatment twice. Finally 'Keep Trying' is reworked on by friend & collaborator, D'Julz, Julz takes takes things down a subtle, dubbier route with his edit, keeping Cassy's vocals a staple throughout'

Following his bomb 'Booty Jazz' EP released under the Jupiter Jazz moniker alongside label boss Maceo Plex, Miami's finest Danny Daze goes solo to release 'The Calm' - two original cuts of deep dark house with a stellar remix from Dutch producer Dexter.
Title track 'The Calm' opens with a deep pulsating heart, beating and building as sweeping waves of trippy FX roll in and out with doubled up and slightly deranged vocals dominating the atmosphere. Swelling steadily with powerful synth lines and rhythm the track drops dramatically, kicking into a tight rolling groove that rides through the depth and layers.
Picking up the pace class-A producer and remixer Dexter takes the reins to spin his techno twist onto 'The Calm'. Making music since the mid 90s and with huge releases on the likes on Rush Hour and Clone, the Dutchman is a welcome addition to the Ellum Audio catalogue. Thriving with drive and energy his remix is an essential DJ weapon for any peak time affair.Rounding off the package 'I See You There' is the second original track on offer from Mr. Daze. Continuing in the same vein as 'The Calm' the track builds moodily with epic synths, industrial stabs and haunting vocals. Taking a turn it drops into a powerful dance floor bomb with deep, warm keys that beautifully carry the melody.
Already flying high in the game and with a hectic tour schedule lined up and a Radio 1 Essential Mix in the pipeline for this summer. 2013 looks set to be a big one for wonder boy Danny Daze.

Danny Daze is back on Ellum with another killer single, 'Flange'. A monster of an EP that is perfect for Summer Madness! The A Side feature the original version of 'Flange', an unadulterated slice of storming techno complete with dissident car engines screaming in and out of the mix, heady stuff. On the flip and Danny delivers a sparse jacking dub version of 'Flange'. Finally the EP is rounded off with the effervescent transcendentalness of Ritmo, another great release from Ellum!

Resident of Miami, Danny has been going from strength to strength, with previous releases on Nervous, Hot Creations, Ellum, and his recent single on Jimmy Edgars' Ultramajic label and Pet Recordings, Danny is at the top of his game. With a packed tour schedule and more productions in the pipeline, and recent remixes of Gui Borratto and Murk expect big things form this.

Berlin's infamous Ellen Allien proudly delivers her 7th solo LP, the superlative 'Nost'. Across nine seminal tracks, Ellen Allien demonstrates why she is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of Berlin's techno scene. A visionary who has cultivated a sound which continues to evolve and mutate into new areas, moving smoothly between the classic analogue squelches of acid to anarchic splendour and mesmerising, celestial soundscapes. 'Nost' is the work of an artist who has found herself, yet still pushes herself to go beyond her comfort zone, still creating, still learning and still yearning for more. This is Ellen Allien, this is Berlin and this is 'Nost'.

Ellum Audio continues on a strong run of form with their fifth release, this time from London underground hero, Eric Volta. The purveyor of dark, lean house and techno returns with 'Believe', featuring UK hip-hop hero D.ablo on vocals. With remixes from Ellum family members Danny Daze & Odd Parents, as well as Tennis, this is a release poised for some serious summer selection.

Title track 'Believe' opens up proceedings with a relentless, Juno-esque baseline, and after the introduction of an incredibly catchy organ hook it becomes quickly clear that this track is begging for a big vocal. Up steps D.ablo who really delivers! The tone of his voice sits beautifully within the mix, and after the warmly welcomed arrival of several shuffly percussive elements and a couple of breakdowns, this one is sure to have the crowd going nuts.

Danny Daze & Odd Parents up the intensity with 'Believe', and take things a little darker; adding a deep rumbling baseline and high pitched strings, and subsequently creating a real sense of drama in the mix. Up next is an offering from Berlin based, co-founder of Life & Death Tennis aka Manfredi Romano, which retains the original organ hook but this time with a more minimal, stripped back approach, keeping the groove locked in through the use of rolling rims, echo'd vocal shots and occasional minimal synth blips.

The other original on the release, 'My Senses & My Window To Your World ', slows things down to a chuggy, cosmic groove. This one burns slowly with airy pads, ghostly vocal moans, and culminates through a slow moving arpeggio to reveal an acid line in the second half.

After gaining much attention for his last release '42 Weeks' on My Favourite Robot, Eric Volta drops this huge release for the summer and Maceo Plex, through his Ellum Audio imprint, shows once again why he is so prominent within the electronic music scene.

With a diverse spectrum of influences and genuine love for alternative Electronic music, we are given a unique identity portrayed through his sound.The 'Alternate Dimensions E.P', first output of the label, opens the doors to another dimension comprising of Electro infused melodies. Reminiscent of the mid-late 90's UK intelligent techno-electro sounds it also combines heavy Detroit influences with a peculiar sonority that will invoke you into the story within the alternative soundscape.

Being a massive fan of Jaydee's classic 'Payback', Maceo Plex plays homage to the legendary Dutch producer by delivering a vitalising rework via his own Ellum imprint along with a brand new track. A rare pleasure to hear fresh Jaydee, 'Pulsate' will be unleashed alongside a stellar remix from fellow Dutch techno don Steve Rachmad. 'Pulsate' is a welcome return and is set to be feature heavily in the soundtrack to your summer..
Dutch wrestling champion (and multiple sports player) turned international megastar, 'Robin Jaydee Albers' started DJing in 1978 and went on to produce house anthems including 'Plastic Dreams' (1993) number 1 in numerous countries, 'Fiesta (Sunclub)' and 'Summerjam'
Winning the Dutch mixing championships for 5 years running, Jaydee embarked on a successful radio career in 1983, starting the first house music program and later becoming director of ID&T radio (now known as Slam FM). 'For Those Who Like To Groove' won Best Dutch Dance Show 3 years running a unique accomplishment for which he received another industry award in 1992.

One time label and club owner and with over three decades of global DJing under his belt, Jaydee is now resident DJ of the Chakra Movement and Club Charlotte in Munster, Germany and continues to be one of the purest purveyors of house classics.

Ellum Audio are back for another killer release with a double sided, two track bomb which sees Shall Ocin take the A-side and FiberRoot take the B-side. Shall Ocin's 'Lurking Wolves' hits with a thundering bass and driving force with trippy melodies and sonic FX zooming through the atmospherics with powerful impact, while FiberRoot's 'Space Localizer' rumbles and grumbles in the lower end, building into emotive warm keys before kicking straight back into the deep groove.

Originally from Argentina, Shall Ocin aka Nicolas Abalos first started releasing music in 2010 under the name Paneoh on labels such as Bedrock and Connect Four. Now under the name Shall Ocin he releases on labels such as Ellum Audio, Culprit LA, Get Physical and Leftroom Limited.

Hailing from Valencia and still currently calling it home, FiberRoot is also welcomed to the Ellum Audio imprint. With his first release making its mark at the end of last year on MLP Music Label, he's since released on the likes of Sincopat and Restore Music.

The constantly evolving Ellum Audio imprint welcomes German techno duo Switchbox and the irresistibly groovy 'Pirates Poetry' to the label. Label head Maceo Plex and wonder boy Danny Daze join forces as Jupiter Jazz to deliver a stellar remix, with a Switchbox remix of dreamAwaken's '8 Bit In A Bit' to round off.
The original 'Pirates Poetry' ticks all the boxes of an Ellum Audio classic, perfect for the big room at peak time with full fat squelchy basslines, seductive grooves and trippy FX. The sensual yet hypnotic vocal from NAtz sits seamlessly within the track to add to that all-important dancefloor trip.

Back with another monster of a release, Ellum Audio bring you four heavy duty remixes of the infectious jam 'New York Is Alright' from TV Baby - a killer track with 'a throb of low-resolution low-end and caustic vocals' - in the words of label boss Maceo Plex. For the A side Blackspun deliver a sensational 'Minimal Mix' and 'Acid Dub', while over on the flip Maetrik injects plenty of groove and Idjut Boys take things into another dimension! All tracks are serious DJ weaponry, each served to dominate the dancefloor in their own way at peak time.

ELL014 comes as part of a joint release with DJ Spun's label Rong Music (USA), who will be releasing the original track plus remixes from Eric Duncan.

Blackspun is made up of Jason Drummond aka DJ Spun and Mark Bell aka Blakkat. Originally from San Francisco but currently residing in New York DJ Spun's journey and career through electronic music began at the birth of House and continues to this day. L.A's Blakkat is a vocalist, producer and first class DJ also working with the biggest names in the business and gracing the decks of the best clubs in the world. Together they make the perfect team with the results clear to see from this special release.

Flying high at the top of his game Eric Erstonel aka Maetrik (Maceo Plex) recently released his DJ Kicks album on !K7 which featured the Blackspun remix.

From their North London studio, Dan Tyler and Conrad McDonnell aka the Idjut Boys have run three record labels and produced their infectious dub-heavy disco sampling house for many more. They formed their first label, U-Star, in '94 on the back of their successful club nights of the same name.

For more than 10 years, Defected In The House Miami mix albums have brought together the very best in new underground house music, championing up-and-coming talent as well as highlighting material from well-established artists. Defected In The House Miami 2017 continues the tradition of forecasting those records that will be heard over and over at the Miami Winter Music Conference, and will remain firm fixtures in the crates of tastemaker DJs throughout the summer.

The Ep is composed by three tracks. The first one, Perù, is a fine production born from the collaboration between Tom Trago and Pisetzky, a blowing wind from overseas, a shiny path into a flashing jungle, a merge of their different styles that combine in a magic theme.

With an artist roster as prolific and well-established as Kompakt's, you won't find much downtime that could be used for new entries to the catalogue. That's why we are especially happy to not only present the inaugurating full-length of VERMONT, but also introduce two distinguished producers to the fold that have built their impressive careers in our immediate vicinity, albeit appearing on the label for the very first time: Innervisions' MARCUS WORGULL and DANILO PLESSOW (of MOTOR CITY DRUM ENSEMBLE fame), two floor familiars praised for their gripping club tunes that showcase a surprisingly unwound and novel side to their respective artist personas.

With VERMONT, MARCUS WORGULL and DANILO PLESSOW submit a noticeably mature work that seems to come from a well attuned production duo, effectively concealing the fact that this is their first collaborative effort... and a decidedly informal one at that: these cuts were not conceived with specific aesthetic goals in mind, but emerged from a series of loose jam sessions disclosing the trespassing spirit of the sonic adventurer. It's in the sanctum of Danilo's former Cologne studio, surrounded by an armada of vintage analogue synthesizers, that the two music buffs somewhat inadvertently tapped into the city's collective subconsciousness and minted fourteen sleek soundscapes of almost krautrockish proportions.

Exhibiting high amounts of arpeggiated curiosity and following a factual no-sampling policy, tracks like wonderstruck opener YAIZA, undulating bleepfest DYNAMIK, the cinematic

ELEKTRON or ambient ballad MAJESTÄT are immersed in the enticing allure of freeform sequencing, even deciding to forego the full-blown percussion kits we've come to love in the two producers' main bodies of work. The restricted rhythmic pallet pays off extraordinarily well, as can be heard in the rich, breathing textures of KATZENJAMMER, DROIXHE or EBBE: if inclined to do so, one could label them as introspective synth poems, albeit with a strong sense for structure and dramaturgy that speaks volumes about the musical kinship of their originators - with or without drums.

Francesca Lombardo has cultivated a sound of her own, one that represents her multi-disciplinary musical background and transcends the dancefloor with ease. Creating emotional narratives via wistful soundscapes, stirring melodies, hypnotic rhythms and her own mesmerising voice distinguishes her from the crowd.

This Italian-born, classically trained musician carved out her own path in electronic music, criss- crossing the globe as a DJ and live performer, whilst building up a formidable back-catalogue of music.

Relentlessly pushing boundaries, her live set which incorporates a group of instrumentalists to compose and conduct intricate productions, as well as her knack as a DJ to combine captivating rhythms and melodies with dramatic stories, are clear examples of this, furthered still by her striking vocals that wash over crowds with waves of emotion.

2012 saw Francesca's first release of many on Crosstown Rebels. Now in 2016, a new phase of her career begins, as she prepares to unveil her debut album, a collection of songs that truly represent the essence of what she's all about, an LP that is forward-thinking, powerful and made from the heart. Live instrumentalists will also feature on this album, merging the world of electronic music with Francesca's classical upbringing, set to uplift and engage people from all walks of life. The outcome is a combination of grand and orchestral compositions, together with subtle, nuanced numbers.

FRANCESCA LOMBARDO RETURNS TO HER ECHOE IMPRINT MID JULY WITH THE 'REMEMBRANCE' EP, COMPRISING TWO ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS FROM THE ITALIAN ARTIST.

''Echoe's founder Francesca Lombardo graces the label with its latest release, an EP entitled 'Remembrance', which is shrouded in mystique and simmering energy. Evoking images of sand swept dancers and a kaleidoscope of LED lights, this two-track EP draws on the pervasive energy of Burning Man, and merges it with Francesca's own cosmic life-force to deliver a very special pairing of tracks.

The title track 'Remembrance' has a spirited melody at its core, which is mirrored by the bass line. It's all propelled along by sturdy, stomping drums and topped off with a layer of wistful pads. Francesca keeps it simple and hypnotic with this little beauty, a treat for anyone who likes it deep.

Alleviated veteran Ben Jenkins launches his new vinyl label Partial Magic with Pittsburgh's Chase Smith. Chase turns in four cuts of percolating-hissing drum machines and squirting- gibbering oscillators. The whole quivering ensemble chugs with an electro snap and a steady dance mania clip until the cool- down of silky and sensuous pads on the closing track.

After her disco anthems package "De Tomaso" Rimini Sunset are now on the way to the next "Sunrise". House with a code. Plus remixes by legendary Bottin, Ali Renault and PMX Soundz.

3 psychedelic science-fiction house tracks from inner space, merging vintage and upfront production techniques, for the advanced hours and intelligent crowds.

Anna Reusch returns to the bouq.-family with he second release and two peaktime lifesavers for the summer. Canadian artist Ellroy impressed so much with his remix for Butch's new Moon Harbour release that there was no way around asking him to also rework Anna Reusch's track 'Arabian Nights' with its oriental flavor.

All DJs and producers around have at least one secret weapon to play. This series curated by Marvin & Guy is the Equation that joins together very special edits from very special artists.

It will be out in three volumes in different colours: first black, second grey and third white.

The Equation series are being released exclusively on vinyl, a limited edition of 300 copies; no digital formats will be released.

With Equation 2 the A-team is back and they have changed players for this second half.

This time they bring along the Mexican outlaw hippie, a Danish who learnt how to build beats better than Lego, as well as the only Irish keener on music than in beer. And the last player is a man who abandoned the euro dance hits of the 90's to play basketball in Peru.

Eyetone returns with 005 which deviates away from the exploratory vibes probed in the previous release which was well received and instead shifts right back with intent for the dance floor. An EP which is very much a Greek affair, featuring two deep, dubby cuts from LA based Greek producer Maheras and a special extended techno piece by newcomer to the scene Artemis SOY.Maheras sound spits a hybrid of sounds that range from Dark techno, groovy disco and soulful house. Expanding his personal style by working under new aliases with talented vocalists and collaborating in projects such as Cazion and Plastic Love, Maheras continues to explore the vast sphere of electronic music without any limits.Maheras has had forward thinking releases under a host of some of the most renowned labels, notably Crosstown Rebel's sub­label Rebellion, Supernature and also under the ever growing presence of his own Plastic Love imprint. Here he provides Eyetone with a further example of a sound you feel is maturing and coming into its own. Both cuts Be a Little Slow, Be a Little Late and I Know have been huge for label owner Demi over the past six months.Understated yet irresistibly dark and groovy throughout, Maheras provides us with a deep message for the floor that delivers.The flip side features the debut of newcomer Artemis SOY.
Not much is known at this stage from this artist but he has provided the label with an epic 10 minute left­field, tech workout that combines shades of groove and emotion found in some of the most iconic dance classics.
Taking inspiration from the epic sounds of Carl Craig and the Laurent Garnier classic Acid Eiffel, this is Dances with Wolves.

One of the beautiful things about DisplayFM is the orbital-serious-full-on-dance-floor music which they deliver. While beautiful and yet caustically intense, 'Off the Ground's reliable output, can feel awfully bombastic.

We are super excited for our Fifth Pfand release with the immutable Frank Martiniq. The opening track, The Cake is a Lie, is a beautiful odeto the deep, soul-drenched gospel house of a bygone era. On theflipside, the title track, Pole Flow, is an upbeat feel-good deep housegroove worthy of the release title. And Beyond Expectations is arefined yet stompy acid squelcher which is great for building up to those big moments on the dancefloor.

After Dorisburg's hypnotic journey we give you the return of Genius of Time! A-side Gliese 581g is an analogue tribute and journey to the newfound planet in the Gliese star system, far, far away.

Following his release on Perlon as Alter Mahnn, collective member Ion Ludwig signs Toi.Toi's 4th release. The EP brings two tracks carefully chosen and crafted. Rather than having the dance floor as a drive they are rather more mind driven, a very mature EP.

'Not 'For You'- This track, from the very beginning, manages to create a tension, a rather pleasant tension, a constancy is built and it does keep giving very slowly, building up to be an amazing jam suiting a dance floor as well as an inner moment of peace.

'Are We For Real' brings a very slick groover. It brings a very delicate and extremely classy straight hihat leading the way at the forefront while the mind is grabbed by the musicality through a beautiful melody in addition to many hypnotic noises in and out.

After the last Vinyl Release in 2009, Soap Records now welcomes the 12" lovers with a new blasting four track Ep.
The Maxi features on the A Side the Track ,,Pending" by Mikel, from which we already heard of on labels like Plastic City, Grove on and also Soap records. The track has a remarkable Glower and a bassline just fitting for the coming Winter. Almost unnecessary to mention that with the break, the dancefloor begins to escalate. Furthermore with a remix from Markus Fix we look forward to a artist which we already know through huge releases on Cecille and Cocoon Records. With his special Interpretation he brings it to finish with Hit-Potential.
Even if a track is still actual after 15 years, one should still re-publish it. No quote, much more a Statement which fits perfect with the EP, which we are handling with here. Mushrooms still sounds not a bit old fashioned, even after that long time.
Therefore on the B Side as a Re release the Meat vs Einzelkind Remix which already received a lot of remarks in 2008.
Meat is known as one of the owners of the Disclabel Freebase in Frankfurt, who also made his name with releases on Moonharbour and Souvenir. Together with Einzelkind he published many succesfull EP´s for Get Physical Music.
The project Einzelkind on his own has also releases on Playhouse and Kindisch. In their remix they first deconstruct the spoken Vocals and build up a stand-alone baseline with effectice Ride usage. The vocals get going after the middle of the track. This develops a remarkable Charme on its own. For the finish of the whole Labelchief Toni Rios, known through releases on Cocoon rec, Kompakt and Kling Klong, just to mention a few, and Chris Wood, known as Co-Producer and partner of Meat with releases on Moonharbour and Souvenir, coming through with the Track ,,Inception". A deep, groovy and straight-House-Stomper, which brings a great EP to a even greater finish.

This year irrepressible Italian born electronic producer Roberto Bosco returns with a new EP via his own imprint Last Drop Records, recently founded alongside with his partner in crime Kiny. This EP, that features four tracks, begins in media res with Sonorous Waves Part 1. An ambient intro track that creates the conditions for a mystic and celestial environment that pervades the whole release. Towards the end of the track a psychedelic reflection reshapes the sound: it is the light that filters, crystal clear and bright. The other track on the same side, Part 2, is more dancefloor oriented with a 4/4 beat and multi-layered structure made of typical industrial and techno sonorities. It's evident that they include Roberto Bosco's legacy: stormy emotions but with deep and melodic sound lines. Part 3 is another intro track, starting with spectral sounds that carefully develop into a full sci-fi ambience. Then, finally, part 4 arises with obscure and hypnotics sounds that match very slowly a more perpetual and gentle 4/4 that ends with ups and downs and a syncopated bass.

'Android (Adamantium Mix)' is a slow and percolating house track with a rugged acid line and sharp percussive knives cutting up the rubbery kick drums below. Swirling pads add a cosmic atmosphere and there whole hits slowly but surely builds to a raging and intense peak of bristling hits and gurgling synths. It's controlled chaos and then 'Tacchi A Spillo' treads a more direct path. Again the high hats are bright and sharp, the mood is very sci-fi and the bass lines rumbled down low. Like a deep space odyssey this one travels far and wide and grows ever more physical and jacking as it goes on.

Dropping his debut release on Super Flu's burgeoning Monaberry label, the shadowy but talented young force - whose name is also seemingly based upon the ill fated Victor Talking Machine company that produced the very first gramophone record players - fuses his feudal, rural experiences of Antarctic life with an arsenal of sound and texture on his refreshing 'Abby' EP.

Taking a strict mantra of 'digital is death', Viktor brings his expressive and deep sound through a selection of analogue instruments, galvanising his off kilter, alternative dance floor tomes with soundscapes and refreshing, naturalised washes of ambience and effect. Title track Abby - with its hollowed echoes and radar blips, sets the tone in minimal, ethereal fashion before gentle, crisp percussion brings tempo and rhythm, before snapping hi hats and bubbling, pulsating bass drive the track into the heart of any given dance floor.

Sven Tasnadi brings a hyper compressed analogue remix, stripping back the percussive elements and bringing the bass timbres to the fore, while Martin Waslewski comes up trumps on his equally ethereal take on Abby, but hardened by resonating drums, staunch kicks and a more perky, house purist approach on the original. Finally, Viktor awakens his machine once more Torrfel playing with fluctuating gusts of harmonics before acidic, hypnotic top line melodies bang heads with bubbling bass and stomping swing.

Synthetic Gold Records 3. Another selection from a personal collection. This time by Greek DJ and producer Anestie Gomez. Beginning with the beautiful and hypnotic Khan - Leni on The Cross (Olympia), a track first published in the 1997 Silentmoviesilverscreen CD album. Then A2 Eloi Brunelle - Neneh, originally released in the 2001 CD album Eloi Brunelle Elsonic Project. On the Bside Andres Garcia - Invisivel, a minimal house stomper, which was out on on Grand Cru 2008, a various artists CD, by Connaisseur Recordings. SGR003 will be pressed on 180gram black vinyl and presented in brown cardboard sleeves.

Fall into a dream state, leave your body, here we go... Fresh from launching his 909 Til Infinity with Option 4 and storming BPM so hard he was identified by Pulse Radio as one of the key breakthrough acts of the Mexican festival, MANIK returns to Ovum with more visceral, physical slabs of straight-up tech funk. 'Recourse' is special. Teaming up with LA word-painter Cari Golden, his fluctuating, body-popping groove is peppered with barbed purring poetry that's part existential, part party, all unique: Cari matching MANIK's every bobbing bass texture, MANIK matching Cari's every observation, everything about 'Recourse' is distinctive, exciting and full of fresh energy. Momentum maintained throughout; things take an unexpected dubby twist as the 'VHS' shimmers and ripples with synth insistency. Rolling hi-hats, hip-snapping clap attacks and a timeless vocal shot build around each other, occasionally revealing a fully-juiced bassline swinging and rolling with total consistency. 'Los Angeles Dub' is straight up jack, no chaser: a grainy, analogue moment of total unabashed machine-melting funk. Don't be fooled by the title's locale; we could be in any party city at any period of time in the last 30 years and this will cause the same frenzied moves. MANIK's been delivering the goods for several years, but even by his standards this is another level. Something tells us BPM isn't the only thing he'll be breaking through this year.

Chicago house legend Mystic Bill joins Crimes Of The Future with two straight up jacking house tracks with bonus instrumental and a mind bending remix by Scott Fraser. Bill Torres needs little introduction to those fans of the original Chicago movement in the late 1980's and 1990's, he produced a string of 12's for the likes of Trax and Relief Records whilst playing and holding down DJ residences in some of the citties best loved venues. After remixing Scott Fraser's No Word Of Truth release last year on his DX Recordings label his first full solo release on Crimes Of The Future has arrived.The A cut Frequency 9 is a rolling jacker with rattling percussion and dark synth stabs to dement the warehouse dancefloor and very much in the line of Bill's trademark style. A2 see's Fraser return the remix favour delivering a massive floor bumping remix adding all new drums, 303 and huge bassline giving a nod to the classic sound of those Sex Trax/ Power Music 12's from the 1990's with his 11 minute mind control remix.... The frequency cannot be controlled! Side B has both the original and a bonus intrumental of The Ship Is Sinking, a dark slice of jacking house complete with real tension and total mastery of the sampler for those able to spot it.

"Up to about the late nineties it had become widely popular in Chicago for Dj's to play their own recordings and edits off of tape. Many in the past had used Reel To Reel, but pitch control cassette decks and cassette tapes were a more inexpensive way to go. This gave us a chance to feature songs and edits that we had been made right on the fly, A lot of these songs became popular amongst certain groups but were never pressed to vinyl. Here are two of my own recording that could only be found on cassette, until now" Mystic Bill"

My initial excitement when the Orb's agreed to do a remix for me was almost too much to handle for my surroundings, being the kings of ambient and all. Luckily, they deliver and I couldn't be happier with the result. Thomas Fehlmann & Dr.Alex Patterson delivers 2 contrasting takes on their pick from my "Principe Del Norte" album.
