'Prescription: Word, Sound and Power' presents the groundbreaking Chicago based house label's anthology, holding milestone songs + four previously unreleased tracks.

Prescription Records defined the 1990s deep house sound. Chez Damier and Ron Trent started the label in 1993, released some two-dozen singles in a four-year span, many of which attained legendary status on the underground scene. 'Chez Damier and I started the label, because we had the idea to take a certain level of fidelity and bring that fidelity to what people call tracks. Tracks being drum orientated Chicago rhythm tracks with a minimalistic melody. We were playing with that idea, expounding a point of
that minimalistic aspect and making it more complex', Trent explains.

Ron Trent was born in Massachusetts but raised in Chicago, listening to jazz and learning percussion. He began DJing in 1982, playing at area high schools. His first EP, containing the epic instrumental'Altered States,' was released on Armando Gallop's Warehouse Records in 1990. Chez Damier (Anthony Pearson) grew up in Chicago, where he danced at the Warehouse as a youth. He left for Detroit in the 1980s, helping to open the Music Institute and working A&R for Kevin Saunderson's label, KMS. Damier and Trent met while Damier was visiting Chicago and immediately hit it off.

Today, Prescription is cited by countless producers as a major influence. 'It's a very dub experimental label... sound bites, samples, rhythms, and a lot of ethereal stuff, too,' Trent expounds—not to mention. Prescription's embrace of heavy sub-bass. Concludes Trent, 'It was ahead of its time, definitely.'

For the next installment in our Watergate Mix series, we turn to two close friends of the club who also happen to be some of the most sought after selectors today, the dynamic Polish duo Catz 'N Dogz. Hotflush welcome Lara Wehbie aka Blursome to the ranks with her debut EP 'Rendition of You'. Raised in North Carolina and currently residing in Brooklyn, Wehbie has come a long way since beginning to work on music in 2011 as a way of channeling her diagnosed depression and anxiety.
She describes her work as a transitional darkness, something she says defined her sound even before she could manage the software she uses to make it. In her own words, 'Rendition of You EP signifies major transitions in my life over the past year and how my environment truly played a role in handling situations. It's a testament to how much happier I am now than I used to be. I still struggle but I'm truly thankful for the influences I have around me that have made me a better individual and artist.' Along the way she has attended the Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp in 2015, and after an appearance on Scuba's 2016 fabric mix, she debuts on the label with an experimental six track EP.
Side A of "Rendition of You" introduces listeners to her experimental use of vocals and heavy percussive influences from the left field genre. Side B dives straight into dance floor material with pounding kicks and and interjecting vocals, but then slowly winds down into a more melancholic ending with piercing synths rattling through to the last drop.

2014 erschien Christian Prommer's Soloalbum 'Übermood', nun ist er zurück mit einer neuen Single und einigen Remixen auf Compost Records. Eine Version des Songs 'Tin Man' der Band America. Der Song war ein Hit im Jahre 1974 und wurde vom Beatles-Über-Produzenten George Martin produziert. Lange Zeit war der Song für Christian eine der größten Inspirationen. Er hat den Track letztes Jahr mit dem Gesang von Adriano Prestel und Davis Lemaitre an der Gitarre aufgenommen. Adriano war auch die Stimme auf dem Übermood - Album. Folk und House Musik verschmelzen hier, starke Vocals und hypnotische Beats mit brasilianischen Einflüssen.

Das Original wurde vom Remix Meister Rainer Trüby aus dem Schwarzwald, zusammen mit seinem Kumpel und Produzenten Corrado Bucci re-interpretiert. Ein Truccy Remix!

Ornate Music continues in its mission to reach out to the freshest talent in the house and techno scene by shining a light on emergent German talent Faune, following last year's stellar releases by Ka One & St-Sene and Homepark.
Thus far, Jakob Panthel's production as Faune has been spotted on the Soundscape Versions label, while under his own name he has produced two albums released digitally on Crystalline Days. Most recently, he delivered the four-track Isvatten EP to Tuesday Slump, which operates out of his native Munich. As well as his rising release schedule, he has been appearing frequently on the circuit in Munich and Berlin, performing alongside the likes of A Made Up Sound, Stefan Jòs and Skudge.On this EP Panthel delivers three tracks of deep, hardware-powered techno with a keen dancefloor instinct, fitting right in to the ethos of Ornate and marking another step forward for Faune.

Our next release is by a young Brussels based artist that will be a new name to most of you.
Foreign Material has been into music since his youth. After studying percussions at the Conservatory and graduating in history, his interest in dark atmospheres led him to techno music. The spirit of his music is a mix of ancient myths and futuristic visions. Conceptual music, both mystical and cosmic, with a link between past and future. Here's what he had to say about his EP:
"'Omega System' is a journey to deep space and beyond, to the unknown destinations allowed by the mythical and mysterious Omega relay that's been turning around Omega's red sun since ages. But beware, the path that you will follow is dangerous and nobody ever came back. Some say that you will find death. Others that you will find great treasures. But some wise people think you will finally find Truth."
On remix duties are label friends Hiver, also known for their residency at Milan's Dude Club. Whereas the original tracks are more deep and floating, the Hiver remixes will be of high interest to many a dancefloor, you can trust us on that one.

Schaltkreis Wassermann is one of the pioneering electronic groups of the early eighties. Their album PSYCHOTRON of 1982 has become a much sought after cult object.Now In Flagranti have remixed released and unreleased material by Schaltkreis Wassermann from the early 80ies.

Super Rhythm Trax release their first record of 2017 and it's a return for Jared Wilson who steps up with four tracks of Deep Acidic House music. These tracks burrow away and are certified ear-worms from the opening 'Getting That Feeling' with it's warm bassline complimented by lush pads and on the other end of the scale, the sparse menace of 'It's The Message', it's another great EP from the Detroit Acid don.

Chris Grabowski serves up 2 from the vault; the tracks are DJ-friendly, uplifting, & soulful. The A is a playfully evolved, sonic conversation, w/ white-noise swells & sub-bass sweeps. The B f/bubbly chords, a ballad feeling, + a long, ambient outro

Brixton collective Dream Diary add to a slick catalogue that's included Afriqua, Tom Gillieron & Richie Littler with an EP from fresh signee Ruven. The NY producer's debut on Dream Diary follows a year-long hiatus in Chile and channels a Romanian sound palette in providing a refined, elastic ode to early 2000s Hip Hop. 'Pour' kicks things off with sharp, Villalobos-esque drums and a dense, propulsive sub bass. Sultry vocal snippets and soft keys bleed into the mix evincing Ruven's background in instrumental performance before 'Jusamin' follows up with immaculate sound design and deftly controlled dynamics that work to extract power from very few elements.

Warped, trippy signals pan left to right atop a tight, arresting groove as he caps off another fine addition to Dream Diary's developing catalogue of confident, sophisticated dance music.

The second Tieffrequent-Release comes from berlin- based producer Siggatunez. He brings us 3 massive tracks which are melancholic, hopeful, deep and raw at the same time. Added with an outstanding Rework by Le Rubrique, Metropol Traveller EP is a nice 4 -Tracker and a unique piece of music. The second Tieffrequent- Release starts with a soulful setopener called Sunday Traveller.

Moscow label Grow continues in fine creative form, seemingly not sticking to a motive or trend but rather concentrating on the strength of character within the music it releases. For the label's eighth release the artist is Berlin based The Marx Trukker, who over the last 10 years has been developing his very distinct sound and recent output on labels like Pluie/Noir, The Untold Stories, and most recently Noorden, have all been especially impressive. Now on Grow comes the album 'Heavens Crackling', from the title one is expecting something awesome, and the album does not disappoint, right from the off, the first track: 'A time well spent', begins with celestial tones ringing out and the performance develops with great synth work, enlightened and very enlivening, spring is in step and something is beginning. The record continues at such a level throughout, overflowing with rich tones, warmth, and raw sounding percussion. In the second track, 'All the boating still a tide to go', deep warm bass and strings reverberate, as if amidst a hot harbour's summer, then the ethereal synths return as magical breezes of cooling wind on a June day. On the Bside comes the title track 'Heavens Crackling', the tone has cooled, there is an autumnal vibe, extended tones of an eerie but reassuring nature provide the ground, from under which a molten bass flows playfully. The final track, 'I do anything but it's so cold', as the title would suggest, again time has passed, gone are the warm relaxed echoes of the the opening tracks, winter has come, and a strong percussive energy becomes the driving force of an especially deep and more introverted last track. In 'Heavens Crackling' there is an uncanny understanding of time passing and representation of being, it's present in the patience and performance within every track, and the effect of the album; which seems, like the seasons, to naturally come full circle, is for the listener indeed to experience a time well spent. Top marks for The Marx Trukker!

This compilation comes on four LP's with a total of sixteen tracks. More than twenty artists in the electronic music scene surrounding the Neustadtmusik label participated on this project. New artist collaborations were formed, knowledge exchanged and experiments tried. These sixteen tracks are as diverse and interesting as they are to us a valuable outcome of the project. From Chillout to rather straight Techno, there is a wide variety of electronic music styles represented on the LP's. Hence It is worth to take a listen to that compilation for all lovers of electronic music.

After the first successful vinyl release, Subosc Ltd is glad to announce its second release. Farron is the artist in charge, offering three original cuts under his brand new Farron identity.
Already known for his wide musical background and experience as LaChriz, he has recently launched a label project called Shaw
Cuts, conceptually conceived as a tribute to kung-fu and samurai culture, releasing techno music on vinyl. "Wave Ya Plans" starts the Ep with a broken-beat groove filled by dreamy pads. The shimmering hats make this track a versatile floor burner suitable for any Moment of the night. "Block In Front" follows in the tracklist with the same coherent key features and vibe: the drum parts are Excellently modeled and equalized to offer a big dancefloor impact while keeping a special vintage feeling. With a ground-breaking kickdrum, sharp energetic hihats and mystical melodies, this track will hardly disappoint. On the flip side, Johannes Volk reinterprets "Block In Front". His raw and hypnotic techno signature sound can be promptly recognized on his remix, which can be defined as a conceptual but mighty and powerful peak-time track. Guy Gerber returns to RUMORS with a new 2 track EP, 'Here Comes The Rain', due for release on the 27th January.
A collaboration with Deniz Kurtel, the EP combines the best of the pair's shared ear for darkly atmospheric late night melodies. Title track 'Here Comes The Rain' is a highly-anticipated release, after having appeared in a number of mixes from Guy. Muted piano chords build up to a layers of echoing synths and subtle vocal samples for an evocative lead track.
Meanwhile, B-side 'An Army Of Stalkers', as its name suggests, is a slightly faster-paced affair with twinkling arpeggios and a subtle rolling bassline.
Guy Gerber and Deniz Kurtel have previously worked together, with Guy remixing her 2011 release 'The L Word'. They've also performed alongside each other at a number of events, including Guy's first Ibiza residency the Wisdom of the Glove.
The EP is Guy's fifth release on the RUMORS label, which he launched back in 2014. It follows an incredible year for the DJ and producer; 2016 saw the RUMORS event series go from strength to strength, with the Ibiza residency gaining a glowing reputation and expanding internationally, taking in parties across Europe and the US. Following a critically acclaimed first solo EP on the label, 'Secret Encounters', Guy went on to sell out London's iconic Koko Camden with the promise of an all night set. The release of 'Here Comes The Rain' sets the tone for further successes in 2017.

Kevin Arnemann and Daan Kemp's Taped Artifact label clocks up its fourth release with a three track offering from Outlaw Rec boss and key part of the Italian Serendipity club, namely Matthew Oh. Matthew has previously released on his own label and others like Side Off, and eloquently marries dub, techno and house into smooth and sensuous sonic landscapes. The opening track 'Psycho Hub' is an atmospheric and spacious roller with dubbed out drums and pads, coupled with incendiary hi hats urging you along. 'Shroud' is seven minutes of slick and spaced out deep techno with liquid synths and clacking hits all racing along and making for a frictionless groove that sucks you right in. Finally, 'Get in the Fridge' slows the tempo down and becomes an even more widescreen and roomy roller with suspensory pads, smeared synths and aqueous sonic details that make you feel like you are floating in sound.

Born in Tehran and raised in Berlin, up and coming producer Nyma presents an exciting and refreshing take on the deeper shades of house and techno. Combining his colourful international upbringing with a rich musical heritage as a multi-instrumental musician and graduate of the revered SAE Institute, it is no surprise that on the 'Flip Side EP' Nyma expertly delivers four rich and absorbing sonic soundscapes.'RIP' is a brooding and ominous introduction to the EP, progressing at a half-tempo pace and featuring echoing vocal shouts over powerful percussion. A year after his last outing on the label, Andrew Red Hand is back on MOS Deep with another fine four track offering. Known as the Romanian Underground Resistance, Red Hand also works with labels like Detroit Underground and has a timeless house and techno sound that is always uncompromising.

'Lonely Heart' opens things up in spritely fashion, with frazzled synths circling round a rooted rubbery groove. The lines grown more wild and untethered as things roll on an it is sure to carry floors away to another dimension.
'Sleepless Nights' is another busy cut, with gurgling acid wrestling with more serene and soulful synth smears. Bristling and brimming with energy, it's a fluid bit of techno that is as classic as it is fresh.
'Dry Tears' is another fulsome arrangement, with light and shiny synths, gritty bas notes and airy hi hats all jostling for your attention and last of all, 'Moms Spirit' soars off to the horizon on a smooth house tip, with rueful pads, sweeping strings and elastic bass really getting you on your toes. These are clean, crisp, accomplished tracks that cannot fail to make their mark.

Humanoid X is CPU's deepest foray into Detroit techno so far, from Blixaboy aka Mwanza Dover - Texas based artist, friend of Cygnus and very much part of the local electro scene. Dover presents an album influenced by the pioneers of the hypnotic groove. On first pass you'll find elements of krautrock through to the Belleville three, all with finely crafted arrangements that reveal themselves in more detail on each listen.

A cyberpunk theme runs throughout as Blade Runner-esque synths wash over the album evoking late night electric-city noodle restaurant contemplation.

As Idle Hands reaches its 30th release, it gives us great pleasure to welcome rising talent Matt Karmill to the fold. To date Matt has delivered a strong body of work to labels such as Beats In Space and Yume, as well as dropping the cryptically titled - - - - album on Popnoname's PNN label last year. This three track EP marks his first appearance on the Idle Hands roster after earning his stripes on the shelves of the shop, and he will be following this record up with an album for us later in the year. The hooky leftfield house constructions on Play It continue the thread of adventurous releases Idle is championing in 2015, following Strategy's Seeds Of Paradise LP and Leif's broken beat excursions. With a balance struck between experimentation and satisfaction, Matt has delivered a record that continues the all important tradition of timeless music that the label always strives for.

Max McFerren checks in for the third time (but first under his given name) on 1080p, taking risks and hittin' on life over four tracks of weirded-out acid and funk-tinged elations on the 'Sipps' 12'. Created in a time of complete uncertainty about the future in NYC's Chinatown, McFerren explores the purity of the break and acid ecologies, utilizing a 'take me to your dealer' type of alien funk vocabulary in order to explore and push his own voice into a stranger place.
'Sipps' is a survey of sorts; synthesizing his previous MCFERRDOG tape frivolities and a more real life / real name club-based language with thoughts towards of figuring out what is the most 'you' in your music are clearly audible; touching down to earth for the first time, trying to make friends, and learning about yourself in the process.

Shaun J. Wright & Alinka lay down their Chicago flavour on Crosstown Rebels with 'Face The Truth'. The release features three originals with hot property Audiojack on the remix. Wright, formerly of Hercules & Love Affair, provides the vocals to each track with rich, sultry tones timely placed across heavy bass-lines, hypnotic rhythms and high-energy percussion: that classic Chicago sound.
Shaun J. Wright & Alinka met in 2012 and launched into global success with their first EP, ' Twirl Volume 1', on Luke Solomon and Derrick Carter's famed Classic Music Company. A series of successful releases and remixes ensued with follow up ' Twirl Volume 2' dropping only last year. In 2013 the pair launched their Twirl party series, which featured guests such as Eli Escobar, Derrick Carter, The Black Madonna and JD Samson. In 2014 they expanded the Twirl brand into a record label and their debut release, 'Journey Into The Deep' received a wealth of support including Radio 1's Annie Mac and Heidi.
Celebrating ten years of making music, Leeds bred, Ibiza based Audiojack recently released ' Vibrate' with KevinKnapp on Hot Creations. New releases are set to follow on 2020 Vision, Tsuba and their own Gruuv imprint. A great four tracker with timeless Chicago influence is another sure-fire winner on Crosstown.

Since the beginning of Co´meme, until today we feel a connection to the electronic beats from South Africa. Co´meme tracks like "Pata pata", "Osea... Hello", "El Sucu Tucu" and many more prove this, and one main inspiration, is DJ Spoko, partner of DJ Mujava, for whom he wrote and produced the legendary "Township Funk".
But also in Joburg, and without our knowledge, Co´meme tunes were dropped at some of the coolest parties in town, so Matias Aguayo aka The Don jumped of joy when he was invited to play there, where he met Spoko and started to jam with him in a studio in the center of Joburg!
Jamming and smoking till the break of dawn, they put together these tracks, that carry the spirit of this label, the vibe of Joburg nights, the 'Bacardi' rhythms from the Atteridgeville township outside Pretoria, comemian latin- tech grooves, the dancesteps on the carpet of Kitchener's Bar in Braamfontein and the hotness of a Co´meme night in Medelli´n, Cologne or Buenos Aires.
1. Dirty Dancing
The title track is a banger for the body-conscious dancefloor, as all tunes on this EP. "Watch what you're doing!" Spoko Aguayo and Moonchild (Yes! The Moonchild!) holla on top of an irresistible beat and a droney bassline, making you either wanna jump or go side to side, or just down, down, down, 100% dance floor approved.
2. Ghost of Dombolo
Already a classic on some Joburg nights, "Ghost Of Dombolo" is a dirty modern tune to jack to in several ways, provoking provocative moves in those who know how to generate them!
3. Something about the Groove
Here comes another dance fundamentalist, and we can hardly imagine someone more fit to join Spoko and Aguayo on this trip: Elbee Bad, also known as the Prince of Dance - he here provides an acapella called "Something about the groove" and a rhythm that Spoko and Aguayo crafted while they were waiting for Moonchild to come to the studio.
4. Taxi Rank Closing the EP here comes an anthem, much inspired by the "Taxis" - being at a time the most efficient way of getting your music heard in town! A driving solo of electronic Kalimba for nonstop dancefloor kraze in the very own style of this EP.

Attention please, we'd like to shine a light on the man whose records would come to define many a Numbers party, who once described his music as "for the strippers, for the street'. The original master of Ghetto House, the one and only DJ Deeon.

Hailing from the Southside of Chicago, Deeon started out selling mixtapes in his local neighbourhood and playing at sweatbox house parties. Soon he'd graduate from DJ'ing to production, creating gritty XXX club tracks purely for the moment and the party. The music came from the classic drum machines that provided the spark for Chicago House and Detroit Techno whilst the lyrics and call & response chants were inspired by the parties he frequented.

These tracks - originally released from 1994 onwards on the seminal Dance Mania label and now remastered from the original DAT tapes for re-release on Numbers - would go on to forge the Ghetto House sound alongside fellow DJ's: Funk, Jammin' Gerald, Slugo, Paul Johnson & Houz'Mon. What made Deeon's tracks special was that when he told you to shake it, that's exactly what you did.

Deeon continues to produce and DJ to this day. We fulfilled a longstanding ambition of ours by having him play at one of our 10th Anniversary Parties in New York in 2013, and whilst he's still doing records for Dance Mania we at Numbers wanted to highlight some of the tracks that we love the most. So with the full blessing of Deeon himself, we have compiled our version of a DJ Deeon greatest hits EP.

We kick things off with '2 B Free' taken from 1996's 'Deeon Doez Disco', its monstrous jacking drums providing the guts for the First Choice sample to ride on top if it.

Next is 'House-O-Matic', which was originally part of 1994's 'Funk City' twelve. Hammered by Mills and almost everyone else back in the 90's - it's all about the raw drums and rubbery bassline.

We then stride forward to 1996's 'Freak Like Me', adding an x-rated taste of feminine pressure to the mix before closing off is one of the grittiest jack tracks we know, 'The 604'. Pure analogue madness.

This record is dedicated to the legacy of DJ Deeon, a man whose music born in Chicago went on to inform many an underground dance scene around the globe, from Glasgow to Rio to South Africa and back. We urge you all to continue buying Deeon's records, to see him DJ wherever possible and to carry on shaking dat ass to the classics.
