Riton feat. Kah-Lo
Rinse & Repeat
Riton is readying the stage for some fresh moves in 2016 with new single 'Rinse & Repeat'.
Originally surfacing to some underground attention at the end of 2015, the track has propelled itself into mainstream consciousness with high playlist support from all key national stations and nearly 4 million Spotify streams to date.
The double R attack finds the distinguished producer and DJ in peak form and sounding as vital as ever. Bringing together pumping afterhours acid house with a defiantly hedonistic club mantra recited by Lagos, Nigeria based vocalist Kah-lo, 'Rinse & Repeat' channels equally the exhilarating sensation of the mid-noughties dance renaissance as much as it feels like an intoxicating mirroring of its time.

Is it heavy industrial machinery or the loud noise of a tropical jungle Do we hear a swarm of exotic insects over our heads or the sound of permanent construction overshadowed by sky-scraping cranes
This is "Los Muchachos", the latest release of Sano, from Medellin, Colombia. A strangely swinging 12" with 2 heavy stomping downtempo tracks for those who know and those who want to learn - plus a mesmerizing "interview - remix " produced by Toulouse, "Salon des Amateurs" resident and member of Kreidler. "Los Muchachos" is a house music short story - both tropical and industrial - about adolescence in Medellin, about kids selling their CD-Rs at undocumented raves, about drawing flyers and stealing
16.09.2016 kisses, testing substances and kicking stones, about bedroom production, about dance and more dreams and adventures of "Los Muchachos" - the kids.
On this fresh EP Sano explores distortion and slowness, beats that are pounding, beats that crawl and make you want to go down to the ground. Slow rhythms, that leave space for basslines and dense, humid atmospheres. "Los Muchachos" is jammed, is full of smoke, is both hot and
minimal and unfolds like this:
A1 - Los Muchachos
The title track is an underground jam of pure dark soul (or also deep punk) from a parallel world, its steadily climbing lines carry the intensity of unknown songs caught on tape when dressing in black was still a statement. Its melancholia though is not romantic and introspective but rhythmical and inevitable, and full of life and passion. It is one of those rare tracks that seem to have been with you since teenage times, although you're hearing it for the first time, like a disorienting and irresistible déjà-vu.
A2 La Grúa (feat. DJH) B1 La Grúa (Toulouse Low Trax Interview Remix)
"La Grúa§" will appeal to those who have been able to witness one of Sano's unique dj sets of irresistibly pumping slowness, reflecting exactly these moments when something driven by a walking rhythm and a single yet morphing main sound just keeps you moving on the dancefloor. It's the sound of the moving crane (La Grúa) outside Sano's flat, like an endless scream of a dying beast or a concrete demolishing giant stretching its extremities. "La Grúa" is darkly distorted, built on a fat beat that swings elegantly like the smooth walk of a big cat, its muscles animated with every step.
B - La Grúa (Toulouse Low Trax Interview Remix)
Toulouse Low Trax' magical rework of this track will furthermore please all purveyors of slow hypnotic rhythms behind the decks. Creating a much darker evolving atmosphere that uses the characteristic "La Grúa" - bassline the remix keeps us magnetized by an unknown force, like the guests of the party that are inexplicably deprived from leaving in Luis Buñuel's "Angel Exterminador".

A1. Atmospheric Dub is simply a Kerri Chandler classic. In this moment we task Jerome Sydenham with editing duties to refresh this rare groove. A2.Tyree Cooper, who needs no introduction, engages in a live jam session with Jerome Sydenham for this Universal Rhythm result. A testament to spontaneity, groove and soul. Spin and Flow. B1. Entering the diabolical world of House Disco not Disco couldn't be better exemplified in this searing piece with colluding talents Eric D. Clark and Thomas Schaben with additional vocals from Anita Davis and David Boswell. Devine underground dance music. B2. Kerri Chandler's remake of the Pal Joey classic Dance' Infused with a Jerome Sydenham edit just make this classic complete and decadent for all sides of the house spectrum.

First release comes from Daniela La Luz itself, introducing her dancefloor diversity to their new bornlabel. After releasing two albums and a few EP´s, remixes and winning a QUARTZ 6 Electronic Music Award, Daniela demonstrates once more her genre breaking talent and approach, taking the understanding of house and techno music to new horizons. The combination of tracks is very well thought through. The aim is to fulfill the DJ´s needs of having one record representing all moods of a set. Waveforms are not only a mathematical law, waveforms are everywhere, in all sections of everyday life,
in light and in sound. Parallel is one of the many parallel universes out there, living and believing in variety, whilst pointing onto respect for various life forms. We do what we love.

Ephemeral's debut on Helena treats us to three deep originals, offset by a characteristically storming XDB remix on the flip. MOLECULAR and CIRRUS combine gritty textures, half-heard phrases, pulsing bass and cyclical synth and acid lines into the kind of meditative sound experience familiar to fans of Plan B or Underground Quality - but here, and especially on AMMONIA, overlaid by the distinctly dubby feel of drizzly afternoons spent at Ephemeral's home in the Midlands. XDB, true to form, grabs the latter track and sticks on some serious afterburners, setting controls for a revved-up voyage across the surface of some distant planet.

Butane's Alphahouse imprint kicks off 2015 with Pablo Inzunza's 'Convenience' EP, featuring three original cuts from the Chilean artist and a remix from the label-founder himself.
Pablo Inzunza is a Chilean DJ and producer most notably known for his recent long player on Butane & Someone Else's Little Helpers imprint, but also acknowledged for material on Germany's Highgrade, and French imprint Monique Musique. Inzunza has explored an array of organic and abstract Techno styles across the early stages of his career and here we see him push on with more powerful dance floor focused cuts via the Alphahouse imprint.
The original mix of title cut 'Convenience' opens things up here and sees Inzunza employ a hypnotic 303 hook as the driving force, while ghostly synth textures flutter away in the depths of the composition and sparse rhythms further fuel its undulating groove. 'Hypnotica' follows and as the name would suggest lays its focus on an entrancing, percussion and pad-led groove, which subtly unfolds over its five and a half minute duration.
Opening up the flip side of the release label-head Butane offers up a tougher, heads down take on 'Convenience', treating us to his typically rough and ready production style with gritty drum lines laid over the original's squelchy 303 lick. Then finally to round things off we have the third and final original from Pablo entitled 'Intimate', which takes on a more house tinged aesthetic this time with organic percussion, sweeping synth stabs and stuttering bass tones.

"Having both made their mark on One Records with individual releases, Shaun Reeves & Tuccillo are back on board the label this time teaming up to deliver the late night trip' Smile' with a sleazy afterhours remix courtesy of industry connoisseur The Mole. Visionquest's Shaun Reeves was one of the first artists to be involved with One Records when he remixed Subb-an's 'Soul Skool' back in 2010 and has since been a close part of the family with a further remix on the label and appearances at various label showcases. Ibiza resident Tuccillo found his way onto One in 2014 through a collaboration with Subb-an when they released the exceptional 'Day Motion' . After meeting in Ibiza, Shaun and Tuccillo began inevitable studio jams in Tuccillo's impressive studio with outcomes that can already be seen on Shaun's Visionquest imprint via the'Seclusion EP'. Raised in Canada but now residing in Berlin, Colin aka The Mole is a welcome addition to the One family with both Adam Shelton and Subb-an being long time fans of his vast discography which includes releases and remixes on the likes of Wagon Repair and Perlon. 2016 has already seen him play two of the One Records showcases at fabric and Gotwood festival and it's safe to say they won't be the last."

Beautifully Designed 2LP , 4mm spine sleeve, matte varnish "technoid yet lo-fi version of music for discotheques that's uniquely his own. He should be playing a venue near you soon, if the world is fair...
Short about the producer:
Keita Sano is born in 1989 in Okayama. He has released music on more labels(1080p, Rett I Fletta, Let's Play House, Mister Saturday Night, Crue-L etc.) than forests have trees. He makes a technoid yet lo-fi version of music for discotheques that's uniquely his own. He should be playing a venue near you soon, if the world is fair...
My first meeting with Keita Sano
A little over a year ago I spent a day off in the lovely seaside town Enoshima. There is a really nice club, cafe and concert venue there called Oppa-La which I had played the previous night. So my dear friend and japanese promoter Hagi tells me we should go back there the following night as there will be local bands playing followed by a live-set from Keita Sano. I was only vaguely familiar with his music but had noticed his name crop up more and more frequently so off we went.
a couple of beers later and around the third track in : somehow managing to merge the playfullness of disco with the physical impact of techno I'm sold there and then.
over a friendly chat and more beers later I clumsily present an offer to release his music and hopefully even all the things he played that night. a few days later the album as you hold in front of you AND more or less a replica of that live-set arrives in my inbox.Prins Thomas, RIF HQ Asker 13th of October 2016

When global house player M.in takes things to the max, fans of his energetic trademark style know what time it is... it's time for lowest depths, quirky synth sounds, jackin' rhythms and heavy percussive drive, fueled with original vocals - for an allover feverish, addictive vibe. While researching on a jazzy tip with his 2011 album, M.in clearly wants to take all his club experience to the max this time. As he puts it himself: 'It's what I do best and like the most, to raaawkiiit!'
The max of joy, happiness and sweaty workout he brings will be good for your body and soul. Or as father Väth said lately to German Groove Magazine 'Don't forget to dance!' ... Yes! 'M.in to the M.ax' is all about dancing, prancing and dirty romancing. But mind you, M.in is far from delivering blunt functional tracks. His history of musical textures reaching from Soul, to House, Techno, Jazz, HipHop and more is interwoven with all his tracks. It's the zest of his music that has evolved to peak in its comprised momentum now.
Evolution is the key to M.ins career: growing from a humble local DJ to a big pimpin' trackforge, he stands more than tall with the full flavoured package of this album. Though u might not be able to walk upright after having churned it out with the full-on grooves he's in charge of! The tracklist spells M.in's realness by the titles alone... with slammers such as 'Bass Boy', 'People In The Front' or 'I'll Bring You Love'. Having said it, M.in means it - bringin' love for those who like to party loud or deep!
Besides his solo-tracks, communicator M.in collabs with a few good friends. Dennis Lee Taylor lends his sleazy voice to the humourous album opener 'I Don't Dig Dis', delivering a deadly cool anthem for the night time, that is always the right time. And... of course fun(k) joker M.in is bullshitting you: for you will dig this so hard!
Just as much as his take on garage house together with Gunman or the fresh flow of M.ins sexy re-fix for his discofied 'Frauen Und Blumen' (together with Patrick Kunkel and Lenny Kraviz saxophone player Harold Tood (here on vocals'). With 'E Zumba Ej' ending the album, M.in returns to some slightly latin-flavoured percussions that remind of his earlier works. So in the end, he moves forth and back through his own style file evolution to keep it 'M.in to the M.ax' on all tracks. And as much as the new tracks are mere slammers: they keep that certain smirk in your face, which was always, what M.in aimed at the most: music with an - obsession for smiling faces"!

After nearly a year since their sophomore album 'The Other', Pan-Pot return home to Second State with a stunning EP showcasing the duos proficiency for composing dynamic, cutting-edge Techno. Over the span of three tracks, 'Solace' EP navigates through a trifecta of distinct styles that unquestionably bear the mark of Pan-Pot's masterstroke. Kicking it off at a breakneck pace is the title track 'Solace' with rapid fire low end and intense tones laying the bedrock for a wildly uplifting presentation of keys creating the ideal balance between opposing forces. Up next is 'Consequence' which see the duo team up with Martin Eyerer for a newly styled trip down memory lane. By pairing key elements of the sounds of early Pan-Pot and contemporary production, the trio have succeeded in conceiving a fever inducing, big room hit. Rounding out the EP is 'Lose Yourself' and it is by far the most grandiose of the trilogy. Lush pads and soaring sonic stairs build toward a zenith as the ceaseless chant of "lose yourself" escorts the traveller through an elated dream. Although it's been a year since we last saw Pan-Pot on Second State, once you experience 'Solace', we think you'll agree, it's good to have the bosses back home.

Blossom Kollektiv returns again with a new vinyl release that showcases the labels organic growth from passionate beginnings to a name that is established in the minds and hearts of many. Label co-founder Jepe has put together a very exceptional release that is sure to warm the hearts of Blossom fans around the world. The EP features one track from Jepe with remixes from Patrick Zigon, Joel Alter, and label mate Leo Wölfel.
The title track 'Amaebi' immediately whisks us off to a beautiful land with commanding drums, lush pads and graceful synth stabs. Paired together with moving percussion the piece is carefully crafted for moments on the dance floor that will be the highlight of the night for anyone looking for a deep moment to lose themselves in.
Moving on to Patrick Zigon's interpretation he presents a more playful version while never losing the core deepness of the original and taking it even deeper. Playing heavily with dubby pads and abstract synths he completely transforms Jepe's original into something fresh that will work flawlessly in many moments in the night.
Turning the disk over we reach the B-side remixes. The first remix from Iron Curtis showcases a solid deep house vibe. Keeping the pad from the original but toying with the elements and adding a funky bassline he revamps the original into a different vibe that it's beautiful and moving all at the same time.
Continuing on with our deep exploration of 'Amaebi' we come to Joel Alter's interpretation. His version provides a reconstruction of the original with a soft rumbling bassline and subtle acid synth stabs that take the listener to a place they have yet to travel on this musical exploration.
Finally finishing things off is label mate Leo Wölfel's solid floor filling version of Jepe's original. This version is intended to take you straight to the dance floor with its more upbeat approach but without loosing the elements of the original that took you to a magical place to begin with.

Hotflush unveils its second release of 2015 in the form of a collaborative single between label mainstay Locked Groove and ascendant Italian duo Mind Against.
With both acts coming off the back of triumphant finishes to 2014 - the success of Locked Groove's huge Enigma EP and Mind Against's surge into #33 position in Resident Advisor's 2014 DJ poll - 'Elysium / Pulsar' marks the first time the producers have collaborated. The end result combines Locked Groove's punchy, dancefloor-ready aesthestic and the emotionally resonant melodics that Mind Against have made their signature since breaking through with Life And Death in 2013.

The final release in the series!
Characteristically murderous MMM disco-house — sharp and succinct, witty and hedonistic, light and hard-grooving — galloping away like a thorough-bred with the original marimba synth line, and expertly uncovering the fragile soulfulness of the Tshetsha's singing. Threaded by the same marimbas, the Old Apparatus is a cavernous, atmospheric, stately steppers, reverberating and suspenseful, with splashing cymbals, horror vocals and miasmatic scraps of melody.

The sound They proudly call it Weißwursthouse produced on a Stradivari-build MPC 1000 in their beautiful studio in the heart of Munich. Wa Wu We and Voices From the Lake follow up with two tropical jungle expeditions: Wa Wu We's version of "Fusion" is feverishly humid and hot while Voices From the Lake takes the nocturnal route; brooding darkness, heavy rain and strange creatures of the night squirming away from the flashlight. Finally, Northern Electronics' own Ulwhednar (Abdulla Rashim & Varg) takes the listener to completely different latitudes with a hyperborean remix filled with chilling harmonies and gangrene-inflicted beats.

The tenth release in the ESD series comes from Alan Fitzpatrick himself. This double a-side release features 'Full House', a full-force Fitzpatrick bomb that rips up the dancefloor with a dizzying bleep melody that ping pongs back and forth above a typically tense, relentless groove.
On the flip, the aptly named Another Way To Go combines a 132 BPM rhythm of clattering hats and punchy kicks with intense keys to create a riotous stripped back techno jam.

For those who don't know, Cray76 is Joakim's alias under the Crowdspacer umbrella. A playground to explore his love of house and techno.
After the huge Servant and Master (released last year), Joakim's goes epic with Burning Inside, a deep and intense tune that turns wild mid-way through the track with one of the most massive lead/bassline we've heard in a long time. Some will find this reminescent of his hit remix of Camino Del Sol. There's also a stripped down late night version that focuses on the hypnotic modular sequences. On the flip side, Slex brings together Industrial music, Techno and Terry Riley () for a unique dancefloor psychedelic trip.

Ellen Allien's first release in 2015 is proving once again: the love of music is still the best drug on earth. Since euphoria can turn into ecstasy by sharing this love in high sprits on the floor, her 11-minute trip - High' is dedicated to the dancing crowd. Everything's built subtle and hypnotic here: from the pushing bass to the powerful ascending soundscapes of the Jupiter-8 to the lead vocal line - You make me feel so high'. The B-side is also about her typical way of exchanging energy: - Lou' is symbolizing the driving parts of Ellen's sets. During the 303 only tickles at first, the acid helixes soon are climbing up the trance sky. Listen. Feel. Space out.

Opilec Music is back with another treasure trove of music that outlines how important Turin and the Piedmont area was to the development of electronic and dance music in the 70s and 80s and beyond. This compilation has been expertly put together by Opilec Music boss, I-Robots, from his own experiences as a DJ and collector and from time spent digging in archives, old collections and anywhere else he could. It marks the start of a new series and is the latest in a long line of such projects he has worked on before now. The 2 x CD package will be supported by a big launch event in November at The Beach in Turin, and features fine artwork depicting the Monorail Alweg issued from the Photo Archives of the City Of Turin. This expansive collection makes for a fascinating musical story and proves that in the 70s and 80s, the influences of Afro-American music and Kraftwerk electronics as well as Krautrock massively stimulated artists from Piedmont, who in turn began to influence the entire national scene with what would be then called ltalo disco, only for it later to turn into Chicago house and Detroit techno over in the US. Fittingly enough, because FIAT is located there, Turin is known as Italy's Motor City, so this adds another nice layer of circularity.
Interestingly, many of the tunes from this period were made by live bands until DJs and producers took over and the CD market started to boom. Along the way this shines through and many seminal artists are included, with the music ranging from psychedelic funk to neo r&b to soul, disco, beat, afro, rock and pop and so much more. The tunes are all high tempo and hugely musical, with classic synth sounds and weird vocals, rare grooves and cosmic oddities all helping to colour the trip.
This is one for DJs and dancers but also collectors and musical historians who are keen to learn more about a vital but little talked about time in the development of electronic music
