House Vinyl New Releases - News

Ryan Davis teams ups for his newest release on Traum with French artist Electric Rescue creating a powerhouse of cosmic techno. It should come as no surprise then, that their debut 12" together is a many sided prism reflecting different iterations of techno from various angles. The 3 originals of "A Walk" determine the release as a "tour de force" spiced up with skilfully played chord melodies, always driving and adventurous and sophisticated full with courageous key changes. This release is not for the weak. Weighty bubbling, nutritious analogue synth sounds provide the tracks with an enormous strength. But the release also includes remixes of a more melodic nature by Ronan Portela, Dutch Roel Hoogendorn, new signed artists Peet and Canadian Philip James De Vries as well as by Traum core members Mononoid who all give the original an extraordinary twist. The first track of the release "Stroll" consumes sequences and arrangements in split seconds to transform them into a rush of melodies and explosive synth thunder. This track is more of an "energy flash" than anything else... and it is over before you have realized what it has done to you. The track has all the quality of an melodic techno stormer.

GERMAN HOT SHOT SABLE SHEEP IS NEXT UP ON THE FAMED DESOLAT X SERIES Bursting onto the seen in 2011 with releases on Moon Harbour, Be As One, and Defected Records sub-label DFTD, Sable Sheep has quickly positioned himself at the forefront of the new breed of electronic music producers. Hailing from Germany, Sable Sheep is one of the finest purveyors of dance-floor orientated underground sounds and it is with great pleasure that we see him release the Vagabond EP on the Desolat X series this May. 'Fallen Lead Showers' kicks off the EP with aplomb. Here Sable Sheep infuses a distinctive tech-infused psychedelic quality into the track from the beginning, which develops until a classic sample comes in alongside well-placed percussion flourishes which are sure to send the dancefloor into raptures. 'Vagabond From Hell' continues in a similar vein, energetic from the off, it features sharp percussion and deep elastic bass, with speckles off trippy sounds entering the fray. 'Sobriety' is another dance-floor orientated track underpinned by a driving beat while a meandering electronic synth, incessant hi-hats, mechanical sounds all combine with fantastic results. 'Crown' rounds off the EP in fine style with a slowly building bouncy beat, industrial bleep, showcasing a classy twisted house aesthetic. On the Vagabond EP, Sable Sheep has expertly demonstrated why he is one of the most sought after electronic music producers to emerge in the last few years. All four tracks are bursting with personality and he is a great addition to the Desolat family.

Sidney Charles is back on Truesoul with 3 outstanding club tracks. Perfectly crafted to keep the dance floor moving, each track gleams with energy.

"Not knowing when the dawn will come I open every door." - Emily Dickinson

The time has come for Diynamic label boss Solomun to serve up another of his trend setting, season defining EPs.

This latest one is called Zora, features three new tracks (which are all titled with Serbo-Croat words) and is sure to become another massive hit for him, and many other DJs, this summer. Of course, the Croatian tastemaker has recently set out for another busy schedule of his own headline events at Pacha and Destino as well as many other places around Europe during the hottest months of the year.

Things kick off with title track 'Zora,' which means dawn of the day and is deliciously deep and sensuously slow burning track with lots of trademark melodies and colourful synths as well as a huge, sweeping bassline that will really get floors moving.

Then comes 'Fantazija' which means fantasy, with its big rubbery kick drums and jittery percussive patterns. It's full of slow release tension, skewed bass and trippy synths that all work to hypnotise listeners as they ride up and down the scale.

Last but not least, 'Nada' means hope and features a gritty guitar riff riding above rolling drums and is the sort of string house anthem that will sound perfect on the White Isle this season. Tender little synth motifs dance around the edges of the track adding a real sense of emotion, and once it drops you glide along on the sunset groove without a care in the world.

Right now Solomun and his label are on top of the world, and this release, which is full of new ideas at the same time as remaining true to the label's singular sound, just confirms that once more.

Gunnar & Bram met each other, during a disco night around 2010 in Berlin where they both played. They felt a natural harmony right away and stood at each other's Dj booth during the whole duration of the other's sets, thrilled about the music selection. A legendary night followed. It was clear they had found their
Musical Soulmate.
Over time their connection became stronger and stronger, although they had decided to continue producing and performing separately at first.
Dutch born, African raised, keyboard player, Bram producing French house under the name - BRM and Gunnar making both live performances and Dj Sets with the Berlin based DJ Duo - Schwipp Schwapp . In 2015, they finally joined forces, build their - Flamingo Studio in Berlin Kreuzberg and started producing
and performing under the name Rimini Sunset . Rimini Sunset occupies a rare space in dance music. Italo and Disco influenced, Rimini Sunset are wanderers between worlds, from the beginning of electronic Dance Music to Analog Synth driven Tech House. Their powerful productions are hypnotic with a vivid sense of melody that sticks long in mind. On a mad ride through their influences, Gunnar & Bram are an impressive powerful live act, creating mesmerising dance floor experiences on the fly.
After Releases on Karaoke Kalk , No Static and Chilly Mint they finally found a home at Lebensfreude Record where they release their second EP De Tomaso .

Benedikt Frey's arresting Out Of Here was the second entry of our Blanc series. Originally a vinyl-only limited release, now the track gets a fresh new treatment in the hands of two mainstays of European techno: Roman Flugel and Simon Haydo. Flugel's Cosmic Disco Drama Rework lives up to its name, maintaining the noir disco spirit of the original track but infusing it with tension-building sequences and strings that give it an extra mischievous twist. Our favorite frankfurter also straightens the rhythmic skeleton and adds shuffling shakers to make it a relentless dancefloor weapon. Haydo's remix delves into a more dismal terrain, transforming the vocals into haunted echoes, adding esoteric synths and topping it all with razor-sharp percussion in what sounds like a storm of ice asteroids falling into a lake of steel. The 12inch comes in a beautiful sleeve featuring an exclusive illustration by Barcelona-based artist Pau Lopez and design by Arnau Pi.

As Until My Heart Stops turns 10, we head back across the Atlantic , this time to Boston and a stunning ep from the still hugely under rated DeViere.DeViere is a music producer and radio disc jockey (Progressive Black, 90.3 FM WZBC Newton) based in Boston, Massachusetts. He first came to our attention with the Transcendental Numbers ep on Jamal Moss' Mathematics label in 2012 and we've waited on each release ever since, including last year's huge Future Shock Disco ep (a collaboration with Jamal himself). Here DeViere presents 3 beautiful examples of his deep, soulful craft and a fitting way for UMHS to hit double figures.

After the success of the first release, Hund Records is coming back with a huge Ep from a new young rising star of electronic music: Jerome.c. Already supported by tINI, Robert Dietz, Enzo Siragusa, Loquace, Seb Zito and more all around the world. Jerome gives us two dub tracks with a little flow on raw and alongside there are a remix from Dan Farserelli from the famous Fuse London Crew that hasn't need presentation, and Max J & Coockies, two other talented belgian guys.

This september, Acid Arab celebrate their third birthday and the release of a first EP on Versatile. From Acid Arab, you knew the 'Collections' series: three EPs and one album, featuring a lot of guests (Omar Souleyman vs Crackboy, I:Cube, Legowelt, Pilooski,Gilb-R). It took the band that long to finally release a whole record of their songs. It's called 'Djazirat El Maghreb' and it's a tribute to North Africa and its three countries, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. First track is called 'Mogador', the old name for famous port city Essaouira in Morocco. A 6/8 rhythm, increased with traditional krakebs percussions, leads the dancers to trance, while the trance of electronics grows imperceptibly bigger and bigger. On b-side, track one is called 'Hafla"', which means 'party' in arabic. It features an old algerian rhythm called Alaoui, used in dance parties but as well in Chaabi music. It also features Acid Arab keyboard player Kenzi Bourras on fire on a couple of solos. 'Amal' is an homage to tunisian percussions and traditional mezwed, a word that designs an arabic pipe but also a style of music that you can hear all over the country. For this song the iranian musician Saeid Shanbehzadeh offered great notes of neyanban, which is another version of the bagpipe. All songs have been recorded in Shelter Studio, Paris, by Acid Arab (Nicolas Borne, Pierrot Casanova, Hervé Carvalho & Guido Minisky) and their guests.

Aybee sets solar sail on this one-sided journey to the heart. Transluscent color vinyl in clear pic-disc PVC sleeve. EU pressing.

Give a warm welcome to Dirtybird artist and first non-european producer on Gold Records: Bruno Furlan from Sao Paolo. Once labelowner Rainer Weichhold received these demos he was immediately convinced that there's something special in them. So after a few clubtests he was sure that he needed to release them on his label. And also the two guys from The Glitz needed no long persuasion to deliver their fantastic remix for 'The Book'. But listen by yourself

Already debuted in Berghain by label boss Mr Parker, Chris Caiazzo gives us his interpretation of techno from a Queens, NYC perspective.

With that combinded choice you don´t have to hesitate. Put your Sound System to the max and enjoy the sounds. HESITATE EP is Number 80 on Stylerockets, the Berlin Imprint of the Kiddaz FM Music Group. DOMPE,
Berliner-of-choice since 2011, shows once again his multifaced talent being a producer. HESITATE is the WarmUp on the Ep and makes you fancy for more stuff like this. With ROSEY he chases another TechHouse cutie.

Brilliant Bassline, a laconic vocal and suddenly your start to

Gregor Tresher´s recent full-length album "Lights From The Inside" has been praised by the press, DJs and fans alike as yet another masterpiece in a long line of releases that has cemented Gregor´s status as one of the most consistent artists in modern electronic music. Born in Italy in 1988, Alessio Meschieri's love of House music began at age 15. Exhilarated by mixing led him to the decks and by 20, his passion drove him to the studio where (under a different moniker), his productions were signed on a variety of labels.

Kim Ann Foxman realigns her vision as a producer in a welcome return to her own New York based Firehouse Recordings label with her 'It's You That Drives Me Wild EP ' Kim Ann Foxman featured in Pitchfork's 7 Best Mixes of May 2016 Kim Ann Foxman Fact Mix June 2016.

The title track spins an intoxicating groove over Kim Ann's vocals full of desire and lust, while 'Give It All You Got' fuses raw energy and dextrous percussion through her confident, evocative words. Close ally and regular cohort Maya Jane Coles seamlessly remixes 'It's You That Drives Me Wild'with her signature sound. The mood suddenly becomes much tougher during ' Magic Window ' wrapping up the latest offering from New York's finest lady of electronic music.

Since creating Firehouse Recordings in conjunction with The Vinyl Factory two years ago, Kim Ann has released sporadically on her label, resulting in only highly thoughtout and credible music from the imprint. Jakob Häglsperger AKA Kalipo is a busy man. Operating as one third of German electro-punk band Frittenbude, his solo alias was brought to life in 2014 with debut album Yaruto", released on experimental label Antime Records. The multi-faceted producer now returns to Audiolith with the Wanderer EP", after having released the gorgeous Mäusemarsch' this summer on the label's electronic-focused Stiff Little Spinners compilation series. Wanderer is a restless record which sees Kalipo work his way through the deeper ends of four to the flour with a refreshingly experimentalist approach to production, with defamiliarized samples and analogue gear running the show. The music has changed since the Berliner's debut album, becoming more propulsive, more physical and geared towards the dancefloor. Composed mostly on tour or over extended periods of travelling, the track names on Wanderer' each come with their particular story, referencing places Kalipo has previously played or traveled to. Monolithic opener Donau Sunrise' sets the tone straight from the start with sanguine arpeggiators that work their way across a mystical backdrop. Melancholic themes infiltrate the cracks of the album and stand out tracks Banana Garden", written when Kalipo was stuck in a bamboo hut in the middle of thai jungle with a 40 degree fever and nothing else but headphones, a sampler and penicillin for company, and the stunning Institute Of Cotton Wool' are set to become earworms of the highest order. Wanderer' sees Kalipo right in his element.
