House Vinyl New Releases - News

Sometimes the best things in life come slowly, building up over a prolonged amount of time to reach a perfected state of euphoria. That's the ethos at play as Josh Wink's ever-lasting Ovum imprint release the Breathe EP from Ben Hoo. The London based producer and multi instrumentalist draws on his long list of influences and tastes, weaving in classical structure, down-tempo beats and more into his eclectically flavoured tracks. Following on from his works on the likes of Kindisch, Highgrade and Mute Records, Breathe is another worthy addition to the Ovum roster, following on from recent bombs on the label from the likes of Vince Watson, MANIK and head honcho Josh himself. The title cut takes its time, sensually offering swathes of lush of sub bass, chiming, echoing melodies and deep aesthetics, to create a slow-burning, heart warming track that entices and uplifts throughout its sexy, seductive groove. 'Cloaked Mix' - with its minimal, tick tock rhytym - strips back the emotive sub bass completely, leaving a snarling, industrial edged groove, echoing out the beats and percussion into a vast plain of dynamic space. Two tracks for differing moods, each tailored toward the more emotive side of the dance-floor. On the flip, Israeli tech house hero Shlomi Aber delivers his interpretation of Breathe, a balls to the wall, no nonsense techno blast, it's staunch and unrelenting kick drum setting the pace from the off. Industrial swooshes, fader jabs and crackling, exploding 4th beats evoke memories of late nights, spent in the darkest corners of club land. Finally, Hoo's '561595' draws the EP to a close, a life giving, spine tingling track that nods to ambient trip hop, a soothing plain of heartbeat drums, piano chords and melancholic melodies bring the EP to a blissful, yearning close as Hoo demonstrates another side to his ever impressive cannon of work.

Italy's legendary Cosmic voyageur and disco innovator Daniele Baldelli returns for Lets Get Lost! Another double 12' after the classic and highly prized Lets Get Lost 21. Heavy hitting!

The next release on Subject Detroit is the result of two Techno Titans joining forces. Label head DJ Bone presents a Subject Detroit first, a split-release with none other than the mighty Deetron. The two have been fans of each other's work for many years so this seemed like a most logical idea. Side D (D for Deetron) sees Deetron in impeccable form with 3 uniquely different versions of his masterpiece "The Core". The Core takes you on a deliberate journey from Deetron's Swiss roots straight to Detroit, one foot in the House realm, the other firmly planted in the funky domain of Techno. Strong, driving rhythms escort you through the vibe to an amazing crescendo and back. There are three versions to choose from, each creating a different energy for the floor. Side B (B for Bone) houses DJ Bone's "Black Patterns". Black Patterns is a true advancement and update to the Detroit Techno model. The main mix starts off in true DJ Bone fashion, hitting you right in the face, with a succession of beautiful piano stabs. A voice chanting "Black Patterns" echoes in announcing what is about to unfold. Uptempo, rhythmic, untamed drums arrive to complete this immense vibe. All three versions tell their stories and indicate that DJ Bone's upcoming album is going to be one hell of a release. If Techno, House and Jazz had a baby...his name would be Black Patterns. This is the first in a series of releases by the duo. And to further enhance their endeavor Deetron and DJ Bone will begin touring together in 2016. They will be playing solo as well as back-to-back and will debut several unreleased tracks during their sets.

Premiered as Essential New Tune by Danny Howard on Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 show, Dusky's 'Skin Deep' is the latest track to be premiered from the duo's four-track 'Ordinary World EP'.

As classy and catchy as the duo's previous Beatport #1s "Careless' and 'Yoohoo', 'Skin Deep' draws on ambient, almost Orbital-esque textures, distinctive vocal hooks and an unmistakably Dusky groove; a unique blend full of sonic detail and musicality.

Balancing moody tones with warmer shades, the diverse four tracks of the 'Ordinary World EP' are another reminder of Dusky's widescreen approach to club sounds. 'Skin Deep' follows the hard-hitting, warehouse vibes of 'Jilted', previously a Special Delivery on Annie Mac's show. Still to be premiered are the hypnotic, big room techno of 'Parakeet Feet' and quirky roller 'Squeezer'.

Enter Music is happy of present their 1st vinyl release with excellent music and artists. JUST2 was born in Romania from the love for beats held inside by two young guys, Radu & Mihai. Heavy Metal contains a powerful remixes of Luca M, Yamil y Fabian Argomedo. It is a unique style at parties worldwide, and also for intelligent ears.

SELECTED DJ / PRESS FEEDBACKS:
Heavy Metal is supported and played by Mark Knight, Stefano Noferini, Coyu, Riva Starr, Guille Placencia, Umek, Jay Lumen, Olivier Giacomotto, Pleasurekraft, Pig & Dan, Mario Ochoa, D-Formation, David Herrero, Chus & Ceballos, Raul Mezcolanza and between others artists.

The Midnight Shift White Label series (MNSW) features full EPs from the label's artists. Where mood meets melody. Following the emotive and personal 'The Journey' EP from Eddie Niguel, Kaspar (Lisbon, Portugal) and former RBMA participant in '05 now brings his 'Sisyphean Rage' EP to the table. Of the legend of Sisyphus and his endlessly laborious and futile effort this EP is not. Instead, it is a remarkable breakthrough for the long-standing artist, with combined light from both Detroit's Jerry The Cat and the ever uncompromising Kirk Degiorgio for the remix. The leading track, 'Ravisher' sees Ka§par flexing his mettle under the spotlight. The ruff n' tuff house-meets-techno tumble will perk the ears of even the most seasoned listener as ripe for the dancefloor. An original composition is paired with comfortable expression, and casts a new stone in the heart of both genres. The B side shows the other side of Ka§par and delightfully, makes just as a powerful impression. One may know Jerry The Cat as a producer, DJ or percussionist on Theo Parrish and Moodymann productions, but the multi-talented cat puts on his singer-lyricist hat here for the personal anthem 'Let Me Be'. Backed by Ka§par's mod take on proto electro, it's a revival gem captured on vinyl. On B2, Kirk Degiorgio completes the all-rounded package with a less-says-more emotional instrumental, waiting needle to groove for that perfect moment.

Mosco fell asleep and awoke days later with Red Axes. This is their joint offering for the ESP Institute. Dikembe Manutu, the fictional character who's name gives title to our thumping A side,
establishes a lush theme based on meandering steel drums and reverberating toms while a slew of rich percussion leads us through the jungle on a melodic galloping bassline. Once this deep groove gets us rolling, we're treated to a variety of twinklling melodies that float high above. On side B, Rage In The Cage is a true live drum machine jam, full of bleeps, detuned toms, abrasive
cymbals, and plenty of left turns. We can only imagine the mood in the studio as these three old friends frantically smacked buttons and tweaked knobs, creating happy accidents and loving
every menacing moment of chaos as they stirred this cauldron. These two songs will make you thirst for exotic nectars.

A1
First up Remedy'- Terranova return with a prowling , uncompromising groove, spartan beats , dub bass hypnosis punctuated by Stereo Mc's vocal chant (Remedy).Recorded in an analogue studio in Berlins Tempelhof (unused)airport ,the groove builds , post war synthesisers hand sequence, smokey echoes and early scientist type effects crack the walls of the building and the smoking chalice is all that remains.
A2
Dennis Bovell, legendary veteran dubmaster/producer, joins the affray to remix Stereo Mc's Turnaround. A mix of modern electronics, and old school live dub mixing through the mixing console—basically a live performance mix, no automation. A rare gem, bubbling , swirling , stopping, rewinding then surging forward through layers of drum repeats and hammond organ reverberations.
B1
Next comes a drone heavy chugging groove -Remedy remix by Aaaron , that glides down a psychedelic Apocalypse Now river
of synthetic structures emerging like brass towers from a groove that moves with stealth and tense percussion.
B2
Turnaround Brixton Dub is a return to the edit block from Rob.B -old school looping and chopping to create a more hypnotic version.

AUS Music press on with what's been a stellar year so far and continue to maintain the quality and diversity of their output. Next in line is a dub-tinged collection of foggy Deep House and Techno from Berlin based Youandewan backed up by Ilian Tape boss Dario Zenker on remix duties. Whilst remaining modest and with a seemingly ineffable degree of ease, Youandewan has consistently bolstered his sound in his ascent. Typified by his latest 'Spiral Arms' EP on AUS - it is a sound that has taken on new facets and plunged to new depths since a move to Berlin and his latest 'Verloren' EP marks a further step down a colder and harder path. The title track kicks things off with a rubbery thud sat beneath a rich sandy shuffle and a buoyant analogue stab. Reverberated vocals swell through the breakdown ahead of the return of a stripped but purposeful sub pattern. Dario Zenker then does what he does in upping the pace and driving nails, clap-heavy drum patterns through a tough and uncompromising remix. 253 (Decent Mix) then melds a flexing bass pattern with neatly plotted clicks and playful drum fills before glassy pads swell into focus. Stripped and steady in its development, tension in the track never quite spills over whilst an arresting warm up tone is deftly dialed. #1 then drives a full-bodied throb under chilly synth tones and dramatic drum flashes that cap off another fine addition to Youandewan's ever-evolving catalogue and another rich and varied package on AUS.

Retro-2000-Style-Pad-House Tune With Distinct Reinterpretations By DJ Spider, Oskar Offermann and Philipp Boston!

The story began, when Kerem bought his first drumsticks and started to play drums. At the beginning, he generally listened and played funk, blues tracks. Also, he performed with several local bands on festival stages in Istanbul. When his high school period, Kerem started to produce his own tracks and generally, his influences were soulful and hiphop music. After that period, he applied to Miller Music Factory Contest' which was one of the biggest electronic music contest in Turkey, when he was 18 and his production won Electronic Music Production' title. His music carreer changed quiet attractively after this success and he started to work and cooperate with Kaan Duzarat who is one of the strongest producer and live performer in Istanbul's local area and be a part of Vesvese crew which has been operated by Kaan Duzarat. Kerem's influences a bit changed on that period and he started to listen and produce house music. His first EP called A Good Play' has been released by London based house imprint Apparel music on 2013 with a stong supports like Shur-i-Kan, Osunlade, Dubfire and many more...After his first precious release, live performances started to increase local club's crowd and Kerem's name known by many club addicts. Now, he's a part of Petra Digital crew and his second EP will release from our imprint as a vinyl called Life of a Party' We wait passionately to see what the future holds for this talented young man.

Martin Enke or Lake People as the majority has become to know him has definitely taken his time for his debut album 'Purposely Uncertain Field', given his success from an early stage on and the quick development of the distinctive Lake people sound. But it wasn't until 2012's 'Point in Time' EP on Krakatau that his music became enjoyable for a wider audience.

Thanks to Dixon & Ame and numerous other DJs, who included the tracks in their sets and mixes the 'Point in Time' EP can be considered a big game changer in Lake People's career. Without riding a big hype wave Martin lived up to the increasing expectations with a bunch of EPs, on which he refined his production skills. Following the popularity of his own music, Martin also became a sought-after remixer for such acts as Lusine on Ghostly International or Dixon & Guy Gerber on Gerber's newly found Rumours label. A loyal fan base of his meditative, somehow spiritual, yet powerful house sound grew over the years and made Martin an in demand producer and celebrated live act.

After the fertile collaboration on the 'Uneasy Hiding Places' EP (including the stand-out track 'Brooklyn') and a contribution on the third chapter of the 'If This Is House I Want My Money Back' compilation, Martin has found in Permanent Vacation the perfect home for his debut album. On 'Purposely Uncertain Field' Lake People doesn't fall into the trap of repeating himself or recreating a successful formula. Instead he puts all his musical knowledge and his experience into the eleven tracks of the album and expands his already rich sound universe. Above his straighter dancefloor aspects Martin elaborates his approaches to a certain mid 90's electronica vibe and ambient-like soundscapes with a very cinematic feel to it. Thus he brilliantly manages the difficult task of creating a transcendent and consistent album without losing any tension over the full length.

Lo Shea continues his series of 10 vinyl only releases on Seaghdha with another 3 tracker which once more covers a lot of ground.

From the garage tinged house of Remember Them Times to Black jazz Consortium esque Alice via an afro-funk inspired Dr Diamond.
With more and more heavyweight support on each release, Seaghdha is now beginning to make a real impression from the Uk to Europe and Detroit....and with Rinse Fm support from XXXY, Braiden regularly playing Lo Shea tracks on NTS and kingpins like Boddika and Blawan playing his records, as well as Harry Klein residents Ana and Kid Chic...not to mention Berlins infamous Club Der Visionaere resident Topper who's also hammering the tracks! ...the future looks brighter every day from the Sheffield warehousing agitator...Lo Shea.

In the last couple of years Dusseldorf producer Maximiljan has made a serious impact with his
EPs on labels like Noir, Liebe*Detail and Mobilee. Now he is stepping up to make his Moon
Harbour debut. On his first EP for the label, Maximiljan serves up three deeply unique tech
house cuts that are designed for maximum dancefloor dynamism.

Bottling up both old and new school influences, Maximiljan has collaborated with Tapesh before
now and is already leaving dancers in awe thanks to his DJ sets all over Europe and beyond.
Up first is 'All The Way' which is a pleasingly raw house jam from the off. Deep, spacey kicks
and swirling ambient pads make for a keen Detroit vibe and when a pained female vocal comes
in with a squelchy acid line it makes for a fantastically soulful bit of analogue house.

'No Space' is more playful, with a curious melodic hook darting about above soft focus drums.
Another fantastically well-sampled vocal imbues the track with a real sense of emotion and
crunchy percussion ensure that it is a perfectly textured affair. This is the sort of classy peak
time tune that keeps floors sweating but in subtle ways where last cut 'Trust Me' is the most
direct of them all. Hurried kicks and scurrying percussive rattles surge below slick wood block
hits and splashes of cymbal drama.

Like all the tracks here, this final offering is a perfectly physical one that manages to be deep
and spacey at the same time, confirming that Maximiljan has a great grasp of groove perfectly
suited to Moon Harbour.

Debut EP on this Detroit-based label features spacey analogue synths and dreamy pop melodies against a backdrop of electro and house.

DJ W!LD returns to production with this hypnotising 3 tracker, "When You Feel Me". Comprising of 2 tracks from his anticipated full length LP, also released today, and 1 mesmeric exclusive, it is sure to delight fans of this enigmatic french producer, who will recognise the same emotion and intensity he brings to his sets at DC10, as Circoloco resident.

"When You Feel Me" is a meandering, spellbinding example of beat driven songwriting, peaking and flowing through its 12-minute journey. It is surely one of DJ W!LD's most elaborate tracks ever to be pressed onto vinyl, whilst never losing sight of it's functionality on the dancefloor. A must have.

New album from the king of bass house, producer, remixer and DJ, Hervé.
'Hallucinated Surf' sees Hervé's diverse production styles exhibited to the fullest throughout and features a number of standout collaborations with the likes of Zebra Katz, Meridian Dan and Steve Mason.
The album is split into two parts: the first half of 'Hallucinated Surf' showcases Hervé's dancefloor capabilities (think Major Lazor, AC Slater, Armand Van Helden), whilst the second half endorses his downtempo, shoegazing aesthetic (for fans of Portishead, UNKLE, Massive Attack), demonstrating a more conceptual side to his work and a progression of his album, 'The Art Of Disappearing'.
Hervé (Josh Harvey) has become famous over the years for his unique sound; he's previously collaborated with the likes of Fatboy Slim and Armand Van Helden and has two albums and two Essential Mixes under his belt - one as Hervé and one under his The Count alias, alongside fellow producer Sinden.

Twenty tracks spread out over two CDs and heavyweight triple vinyl.

Hot on the heels of Luke Vibert's 'Halloween' (Part
One),Hypercolour present more acidic business from one of Cornwall's finest bleeps exponent, backed with two very solid remixes from Tom Demac and FaltyDL. More new and exclusive material from Vibert then, on the A side cut, 'iStrain'. Deadly mechanical funk of the highest order, the Eastern melodic flavors float over a bending and bouncing 303 bassline, serving up a heady concoction of analogue goodness, proving that Vibert's still got 'it' in plenty of abundance. Hypercolour regular, Tom Demac, revisits 'Halloween', the dark, Pagan stomping acid tormentor from Part One. Going in straight for the ugular, Demac offers up a heavyweight battering ram of a remix, certainly not for the faint-hearted, as the crushed beats slap and pound against the lysergic moulations and the demented vocalphrases. Coming up for air, Brooklyn's FaltyDL comes to Hypercolour fresh from an outstanding album on Ninja Tune and singles on Swamp81 and Hemlock, with a stunning breaks version of 'Stabs Of Regret' (a track featured on Vibert's Ridmik album for Hypercolour last year). Hustling and frenzied breakbeats challenge for pole position with deep and dreamy chords and light synth melodies, the complex and compelling arrangement keeping things continually fresh in the mix. Vibert's funk is not lost either, with FaltyDL ensuring that this remix stays bang on point and funkier than a pair of Rick James' leather strides.

Naïf strikes back with a double package of analog madness.

Celesta Records is a brand new label kicking off with a fine EP from Kiko & Spencer K entitled Kenloto. It features two new original cuts and infectious remixes by Miguel Lobo and Paul C & Paolo Martini.

The young and exciting production pairing of Kiko & Frenchman Spencer K has been exciting dance floors with their hot hook up for a while now. Inspired by a range of modern hose and techno artists their sound is fresh and functional and always keeps floors moving.

First up here is Kenloto, a chunky bit of bass driven house with crisp perc. It builds to a nice tense peak with lots of loose, jumbled textures and will make for a fine bit of peak time listening. The other original is Whack, which is another tough house cut with firm bass, old school New Jersey snare patterns and rolling drums that are rich, warm and rubbery.

Miguel Lobo's remix is a more spritely thing with lithe chords, colourful synths and and a pent up energy that just never stops giving. Closing out the fantastic package is Paul C & Paulo Martini who remix Kenloto into a trippy affair with ghoulish voices, hard hitting drums and lots of dark wave energy that will carry you late into the night.

TONIC003 shows label founder Krystal Klear joining forces with a fresh off the boat vocalist in the form of Flex Washington. A two track 12 alongside a crafty Accapella for the Djs showcases a another step in a darker club foundation for the label head merging elements of new jacking R n B on top of rigorous drum patterns all tied together by the romanticism in Flex's vocal tone.

The tracklisting of the release was inspired by classic vocal 12's of the late 80's early 90s which is represented by the alternative acid flexing drum-a-pella version of the A side alongside a 12 inch only bonus of the bare accapella giving a tip of the hat to KK's musical heritage ranging from turntablism to body rocking.

Musically this is representing the deeper crevices of the streets that not all of us see...the darker side of midnight.

Support coming from P Diddy, Jackmaster, Jacques Greene, Midland, Tensnake, Alan Sugar, Bill Brewster, Skream & Joy Orbison.
