'Azrael' and 'Ghost' form the two original tracks on HVOB's sixth EP. Not only do they offer an acoustic and conceptual taste of this spring's HVOB album, they are, moreover, accompanied by two remixes: Pillow Talk from San Francisco (Wolf + Lamb, Life & Death) apply their sound to the pulsating and percussive arc of suspense that is album-opener 'Azrael', while The Field from Stockholm (Kompakt, Warp Records) dive into the ethereal fragility of 'Ghost'. 'Azrael/Ghost' will be released on March 20 as a double-A vinyl and digitally on Stil vor Talent.

Nacho Marco's 'Warm Trax Vol. 1' was an Ovum highlight in 2015 and a much welcomed return to the label for the Spanish producer. Vol. 1 with its rich analogue textures and acidic flair, picked up a wealth of support. Today Nacho returns with Vol. 2 and a new trio of Trax for our trip. One of the most acclaimed DJ's and producers from Spain, Nacho Marco's rich musical history is evident in all of his productions. As comfortable creating a peak time acid number as he is rolling the depths of house, Nacho is clearly influenced by the early sounds of Chicago and acid house and always delivers a modern twist on what is a timeless sound. It's one thing to take influence from the past, but its quite another to ensure that you keep on pushing forward. Hypnotic and sparse, Afterlife opens the Ep with its bubbling acid line and stripped, raw beats that bring you back to the Warehouse. Let's Play continues with the acid theme as it ripples away under a drowsy bassline, broken by tight snare and shining hats that build to peak time bliss. Finally we're treated to the smooth balearic vibes of Tell Me Something, with its hooky piano riff and smooth synth chords. Sunset/rise anyone - Nacho Marco continues his Warm Trax series on Ovum showing his diverse production talents. This is his third EP on the label and his tracks have seen the support from such luminaries as Laurent Garnier, D'julz, Danny Daze, Soul Clap, Marc Romboy, Joris Voorn, Skream and more. - These tracks have been road tested by Josh Wink with huge reactions.

Brighton's ever-cultured Black Key label pushes on with another house connoisseur for its next release, namely the venerated Scotland-based deep house producer Brad Peterson.
Before now, Peterson has cropped up on seminal Detroit labels like Moods & Grooves as well as boutique vinyl only outlet Contrast Wax. His sound is deep, moody and atmospheric and comes littered with gorgeous melody and soulful synth work.
Opening up the EP is 'Monsoon', a nice and propulsive house jam that journeys through deep space with infectious drum hits and radiant synths fleshing out the rubbery groove. Squelchy, subtle textures also appear in the synthy trails and the whole thing is a feel good, optimistic bit of music that will get dancefloors moving and feeling at the same time.
'Sit Back' is a more reflective and sombre cut, with wallowing, liquid chords draped over a ponderous, snaking bassline. The percussion here rattles gently, like branches in the wind, and the mood is contemplative and cerebral, which is not something your average producer can achieve from their machines.
The classy, cultured work continues on closer 'Cloud Remedy' with its reverb coated hits, decisive drums and carefully spraying, ever shifting synth patterns. Classic but not overly reverential of the past, it's a beautifully musical bit of deep house with gently tumbling, starry night sky melodies to die for.
As ever with this label and artist, this is a magical EP that puts most modern deep house releases to shame.

"Civil Defense" was—and still is—a tone poem. It was written in 1984 and first performed in various beatnik-esque coffee houses (with a simple beatbox) in and around Chicago. (I went to college on a full poetry scholarship-- believe it or not!)", as Danny himself says, and we think it's right. "Civil Defense" was recorded at Seagrape Studios, Chicago. Produced by the late David Bell; mixed by Brett Wilcots. It is considered to be one of the earliest vinyl releases of House Music. (Earlier House tunes were shared via mix tapes.)
and was never repressed as a legitimate 12".
LDdlm is honored to bring you this " long lost piece of the puzzle" in the retelling of Chicago House Music history.
The LDdlm edition of the original recordings documents the enduring legacy of this iconic piece of audio history, including the long lost Ron Hardy edit and a reshape of the edit of Ivan Smagghe for the first time on vinyl.

Late in 2013, French DJ and producer extraordinaire, Laurent Garnier, decided on a plan to get his music reaching out to the very corners of the underground music scene. Rather than self-releasing, or opting for the tried and tested labels, Garnier decided to plump for a selection of independent record labels from different countries that he greatly respected and supported, each one with their own strong identity and fan base, and to go under the moniker 'Garnier' for these projects. Opening his account on Chicago's Still Music in February 2014, with the 'AF0490' single, the electronic stalwart has since gone on to issue singles on Modeselektor's 50 Weapons ('AF4302' EP), Musique Large ('A13') and the MCDE label ('KL2036' EP).
A huge supporter of Hypercolour over the years, and perhaps an embracing of the British label's dedication to the 'UK sound' (considering the Frenchman's early deployment to Manchester's legendary Hacienda club in the late 80s as resident DJ), it's of little surprise then that the fifth Garnier project lands on Hypercolour this August.
Two stellar tracks then from Garnier; 'ENCHANTé' is an epic 122BPM chugger, its soaring and pitch bending strings, rasping keys and filtered vocals providing plenty of melancholic melody and classic electronic vibes, whilst a swinging drum pattern keeps things nice and tight. A big tune from Garnier here, sitting very snuggly with his legendary track, 'The Man with the Red Face', we're expecting this one to ring out across dancefloors far and wide over the coming months....
On the flip, 'psnuo' goes straight for the jugular; a pumping techno workout with scattering and inter-galactic bleep-work, thunderous effects, and with a heady nod to the sounds of Detroit's minimalists Robert Hood and Jeff Mills. Battering 909 snares are offset with the warm and harmonic choir pads, a killer slice of techno from one of the scene's most switched on and in tune godfathers!
Up Front DJ Support :

Vince Watson (Planet E)
Alan Fitzpatrick (Drumcode)

My Little Dog comes back to 12" with a massive VVAA Vinyl Only Ep. On the A side we find 2 tracks by the up and coming Spanish producer Jeremy Urbano, remixed by 2 brilliant German artists, Beatamines (Bondage, Keno) and Mario Da Ragnio (Upon You, Break New Seil).
Both tracks are an orgy of dark analog synths, old skool percussions and perfectly placed breaks, which keeps you in tension from the first to the last beat.
The perfect weapons to raise to hell any dancefloor.
B sides calms down a bit with a great dose of deep house with a tasty South American flavor.
Emerging Peruvian artists Israel Vich & Jairo Betancourt (Get Physical, King Street), delight us with Your Control'.
A contemporary piece of house music which will shake your soul and feet. Argentinian production duo Jay West and Manuel Sahagun (Off, Mother), strip down the original song, taking out the voice and adding a nice and groovy Chicago touch. The perfect icing on the cake for this stunning ep.

We are excited to welcome Martin Waslewski back on Hommage, this time with partner in crime Ole Biege. Both present a lush pair of tracks that will help you make a smooth transition into autumn and the darker days. Starting off with the EPs title track 'Fiddler', a laid back & chilled tune. Built around a sleek groove and authentic analog drum programming, the tracks main focus lies on the echoed male vocals. The sounds and instruments both chose, make Fiddler a standout and track that will become an ear worm instantly.

All of the tracks have gained widespread support and captured ears around the globe whilst the dark, lurching Flux One provides something a bit different.

For its premier release, Division Point Industries is proud to announce a 4-track EP by Rolling Ones, a collaborative project featuring Johannes Auvinen (Tin Man) and Jordan Poling (Jordan). Rolling Ones finds its voice in the synthesis of each artist's sound, combining Tin Man's acidic melodies with Jordan's deep, textural pads. Debuting at the Division Point Industries residency at Bushwick's notorious Bossa Nova Civic Club, Rolling Ones marked their arrival by playing a DJ back-to-back set. Opening the record is '93' Mustang', a muscular, no-nonsense roller built around deep wells of warm bass and slick-piston percussion. As it builds, Tin Man's signature acidic squelch dances in the remaining space, giving the track a sense of both life and depth. Next is 'Faded Delorian', an abyssal burner that refracts its ghostly tones around a panning labyrinth of crystalline synths. On the flip is 'Slammed Cadillac', a sinewy, stripped down stomper of clattering percussion and caustic 303s. 'Jacked Up Impala' finishes the record as a jacking acid tool. Founded by Jordan Poling, Division Point Industries is a new label built on the success of a collaborative residency with Cory James at Brooklyn's Bossa Nova Civic Club. Having hosted artists ranging from the established to the underground, Division Point Industries has crafted a no-nonsense take on deep house and techno that is rich in history while remaining focused on the future.
Schneeweiss VI: a collaboration of neighbours. Over the years, Oliver Koletzki has continuously cited Berlin as a point of reference and, more importantly, a source of inspiration. Two of his albums Großstadtmärchen and Großstadtmärchen 2 have been a direct ode to the capital. Friedrichshain, one of Berlins vibrant districts, has always held a special place in Olivers heat. This is where he started out when he first moved to the city, and this is where he lives now. Schneeweiss, one of Friedrichhains best and most loved restaurants, is just around the corner. Over the course of eight years, the stylish eatery has impressed many a Berlin foodie with its contemporary take on alpine cuisine and attention to detail. Music is part of the experience here, which is no surprise due to one of the owners extensive background in Berlins club scene of the early days. Pairing striking award-winning interior design with a homely laid-back atmosphere, Schneeweiss welcomes everyone with open arms: Kiez locals and celebrities, students and businessmen, hipsters and families all can be found here, Oliver Koletzki among them. Thus, after many a late-night label dinner an idea slowly formed. Why not join forces and collaborate on a compilation that represents both, Oliver Koletzkis and Schneeweiss taste Compiled specifically with the restaurant in mind, SVT174 once again convinces as a tasty treat for the music connoisseur and a musical treat for the culinary aficionado. Bon Appétit!

It's hard to believe an entire decade has gone by since Claude Vonstroke first released 'Who's Afraid of Detroit'. But believe it or not, we've reached the 10 year mark of one of the biggest hits of Claude's career, and we felt it's about time for some fresh takes on the track that helped launch VonStroke and Dirtybird.
For 10 year anniversary, we tapped into the Motor City's outstanding talent pool and enlisted an amazing lineup of Detroit artists to help us celebrate. Besides Claude Vonstroke's brand new 2016 remix, we also included mixes from techno icones Octave One, minimal techno pioneer Marc Houle (Windsor is close enough!), and the accomplished trio Visionquest.
Not limiting the Detroit based artist package to just the music, the haunting release artwork comes to us from Michigan illustrator Dan May. In addition, a dark David Lynch style music video comes from award winning Detroit director, Anthony Ernest Garth.
"Who's Afraid of Detroit Remixes" will be released on the 10th anniversary of the Movement Festival in what city Detroit, of course.

Italian born Swiss resident PASCAL NUZZO (aka p8) is a DJ, Producer and Label Owner who's known to have produced some smashing floor hits. Inspired by the early work of artists such as Daft Punk, he then headed musically to underground and melodic Techno as well as Funky beats and grooves, typical of the 90's French-House music and grabbed the attention of the likes of Tiësto, Swedish House Mafia and Fatboy Slim.
In 2011, after the big success of his bootleg remix of 'Nirvana - Smells like Teen Spirit', he decided to focus on underground Techno productions using his real name, reserving his alias 'p8' for mainstream projects.
In 2012 he and Max D-Loved released the Mahon EP on Intacto, receiving great praise from DJs and audiences alike. Now he's back with his single 'One Time', and label head Shinedoe made an epic remix of the track. Fasten your seatbelt everybody, cause this EP is a high speed techno trip.
ONE TIME
A dark, suspenseful track that clearly illustrates Pascal Nuzzo's newfound love for the underground scene. With a beat that hypnotizes you and a melody that sways your every emotion, 'One Time' is a climactic experience that moves and invigorates you.
ONE TIME SHINEDOE REMIX
A phat remix with an extremely dubby bassline and vocals to complete the total transformation of the original, this remix by Shinedoe will make every dance floor explode. You can't play this techno trophy just one time: you have to listen to it over, and over, and over again.

For our 45th vinyl release we are thrilled to welcome label head Dylan Hermelijn aka 2000 and One for the first time on Area Remote.
2000 AND ONE (aka Dylan Hermelijn) has been on the forefront of electronic dance music since the late eighties. His pioneering vision across more than two decades of music genres now ranks him as one the most versatile, in-demand international artists, commanding weekly performances on the house, techno and tech house global club and festival circuits.
Not only recognised as a magnet for the clubbing crowds, he is also credited for championing the sounds of Amsterdam's new school DJ and Producer generation and propelling the scene's visibility into the international club headlights with his six Amsterdam labels, of which Area Remote specialises in showcasing the latest sounds from abroad - plus welcomes the newest rising stars from Amsterdam.
As for the many 2000 and One remixes on his imprint he finally takes the Area Remote front cover solely. "We Hang" EP takes back to the early days of house music with its typical early nineties Chicago House sound. Comprising an uplifting club mix with its leading male vocal and an even deeper instrumental dub mix on the flip, "We Hang" keeps you movin' and groovin' until the early mornin'!

Closed Sessions' is a little comeback for our small family business RIVULET RECORDS, so we´re very happy to get help from some good friends on this one. Pablo Mateo from LACK, Perseus Traxx who has released on Bunker and MOS, Mod.Civil from Ortloff in Leipzig, Profile from Esthland and our very own Stanley Schmidt are artists who have been inspiring and exciting us for quite a while and who seem to share the same love for serious dancemusic. Although the tracks are very different, the whole compilation is driven by a dark and moody vibe which doesn´t let go the utopian and hopeful core of Housemusic which has been the light we´re been running for since one of these mornings... We hope you like what you hear, thanks for the support! Yours sincerely, Rivulet.

Patrik Sjeren, J-Dubs and Work Them Records founder Spencer Parker give Dan Beaumont's lauded 'Spirit Talkin'' the dub treatment.
Having seen much support from names like Truncate, Job Jobse, Marcel Fengler and ItaloJohnson, 'Spirit Talkin'' was an enormous testament to the London-based DJ, promoter and venue owner's production prowess.
First up on dub duties, Swedish veteran Patrik Sjeren, who's been releasing under numerous monikers since the early 90s on the likes of FXHE, delivers a chilling production courtesy of ghostly echoes and tantalising synths.
J Dubs aka Jamie Fry, founder of the STABLO imprint, then focuses on understated percussion as an undulating bassline joins infectious claps, before Work Them boss Spencer Parker combines rumbling kicks with shuffling hats for a stripped back dub version of his Workmix.

Human Machine is the mix of Musumeci and his friends Sisio, Simeone and Pavi's music consciousness downloaded into a 1024billions Tb Hyper HD to experience first combination between human and machine and see what sounds like.
First result is 'Black Mechanism Ep', three tracks that merge the sound roots of the four brains involved giving back a blend of world music, techno and house with a little progressive touch.
The title track open the ep with a strong 'kick and bass' syncopated rhythm introducing the dark arpeggio spots and an anthemic mama vocals flowing on top of an impressive Bass Synth texture. 'Polymorphism' is the result of an unexpected chromosomic synthesis that occurred after the alteration of the genes, this made possible to turn an initial dark & deep groove into a trancy emotional tune based on hypnotic synth riffs and basic chords changes. Perfect soundtrack of our lost moments.
Last pieces of bits 'Encode' is a bass drum knocker with little melodic infection, someway a natural effect of the techno nature inherent to the 4 subjects.

Ashely Beedle, Moodymanc & Max Essa at the controls.
This Justin Velor track with Leee John, the main man from 80's pop-soul sensation Imagination, was first featured on his album '2013' and now gets some accomplished remix treatment.
Beedle & Moodymanc collaborate combining their consummate skills to take the track into Black Science territory. They marry phillyesque drums with a bumping bass line whilst Leee John's vocals are chopped & worked smoothly into the deeply swung rhythm. For good measure they drop a deeper dub alongside.
Next Max Essa provides an epic discoid excursion. His remix builds with fizzing percussion weaved around an insistent hi-energy style bassline. Uplifitng synths & Leee's rousing vocals complete the full colour widescreen experience.
The original album version co-produced by Jez Wiiliams ( Doves ) & mixed by Graham Massey is also featured making this a truly cultivated release.

*Hot on the heels of DJ Deep's inaugural Kern mix for Tresor comes 'Kern Vol.2', selected and mixed by Gigolos boss DJ Hell.
*Hell has a track record of releasing benchmark mixes, most notably the wildly eclectic mix for Belgian club FUSE in 2000, and 1995's 'X-Mix 5: Wildstyle', whose concept he feels is 'not far
away from Kern Vol.2'.
*For 'Kern Vol.2', the Munich / Berlin machine dug deep into his vast collection to unite early House and Techno with the new wave. To start the process, he searched in the most obvious place: his basement. 'I was nding records I didn't know that I still owned,' he explains, adding that there are 'so many stories behind each track. It's not just the music - after 20 years there are so many memories that come back'.
*The rst 12' - The Exclusives - comes packed with previously unreleased tracks, specially crafted for Kern Vol.2 and carefully selected and re-edited by DJ Hell.
*Argentinean producer extraordinaire Jonas Kopp offers his own interpretation of the Hell sounds with 'X', an incendiary and wreckless number of instant gritty appeal. On the ip, two reworks operated by Hell specially for the occasion. The infamous Flashback '86 by Capracara receives a raw treatment, for full danceoor effect. The 1993 classic by Halogen (aka Zach Roberts), Bliss gets extended and reconstructed with complete new drums.
*Hell feels that 'Kern Vol.2' is a product of crate digging and vinyl culture, but rather than keeping it to himself, he wants to share it with as many people as possible: 'This music is very powerful & timeless and had a huge inuence on me. I have been Djing since the late 1970s and playing house since 1985 - this is my life.'
*As autobiographies go, 'Kern Vol.2' makes for a compelling opening chapter.
