House Vinyl New Releases - News

Haling from Glasgow's East End, Christopher McFarlane has been producing under his Mirrors stagename since the summer of 2011, whilst holding down ongoing involvements with the city's popular 'Offbeat' clubnight. Coincidently set to hit the racks on the eve of his 21stbirthday, Loungin' Recordings present the Glaswegian newcomer's first official EP.
Comprised of the original version and 3 vastly different remixes, the West London-based imprint's 30thsingle release brings together 3 principal members of the new roster with a special, and rather unlikely, guest appearance.

aux44 is a radioshow, tapelabel and a subdivision of mindcolormusic curated by dj mnvr.
the first two numbers were limited tapes with collaborations and productions by mnvr himself.
on this 150 limited and handstamped items dj mnvr himself debuts on vinyl with various experimentations handrecorded and overdubbed, all live recorded at aux44 lab.

After the striking debut release on Nothing Odd Recordings found label owner Sam Smith sitting comfortably alongside Baby Ford for an exploration of subliminal house and techno, NOR002 finds Smith donning the alias Monty The Fly and expanding on his own vision for stripped-down dance music brimming with psychoactive tendencies. Across the three tracks there is a diverse range of moods being drawn on, from the meditative to the mechanical, all fused together by what some might consider an obsessive eye for detail. There's meditation in the air in places, with mysterious pads and heavy splashes of reverb soaking out into some corners in the time-honoured dubwise spirit of transcendental electronic music. Elsewhere brushed percussion and disembodied vocals shape out a more sinister message, lending themselves to a sound world both immersive and disorientating in one fell swoop.

Run by two thirds of the team behind Hypercolour - Ste Roberts and Alex Jones, alongside Dave Elkabas - the Initials imprint has made an auspicious foray into the world of electronic music, with releases and remixes from the likes of The Analogue Cops, Kris Wadsworth, Boola, Jay Bliss and the Greenville Massive. For the sixth EP, Roberts himself appears with a solo track, as does Finale Sessions producer Will Azada, and the pair also contribute a collaborative effort featuring Dick Darling.

Said track, 'Ann Summer' pairs raw and heavyweight kick drums with dainty synth stabs as scraping percussion bring a grimy, rough edged feel to proceedings. Gliding along the top are some well crafted wooden hits and the resulting track demands to be played in some darkened basement.

What's more, the 'dumb bitches' vocal loop that occasionally pops up only serves to bring the track even more to life. On his own, Azada, who has been producing serious house music since 2011, turns in 'It's, Uh, Like This' - a brooding and techno inclined stomper with bristling percussion and the rawest of textures. It channels plenty of warehouse vibes in its dusty make up and confirms Azada to be a unique voice in the modern scene.

Finally, Roberts goes it alone on 'Pig In The City', slowly building a heads down groove from the most deft looping of icy hi hats, rattling metallic synth chords and an obscured vocal that lurks in the shadows forever drawing you ever more into the dark heart of the track.

As always with Initials, this is an EP of raw and fad free floor music, that deals in inviting texture and tension like few others can.

After a killer 2015 for Heist that brought with it 12s from (a.o.) Brame & Hamo, Fouk and new recruit M.ono, and a great Frits Wentink release to kick off 2016, we're happy to bring you this bright and vibrant package courtesy of....ourselves. 2015 has been such an amazing and busy year for us, with loads of work on a new version of our live show with a new Detroit Swindle member on the keys well as countless other shows and records on Heist and Freerange).Right now, we're happy to say that we've made good use of our studio time and have fired up our gear to record the 'In Reverse' EP. This EP for us represents a period where we've been enjoying loads of new music, and have gotten inspiration from many different sources, to see in what way we can expand the Detroit Swindle sound. The 4 tracks on this EP each showcase a different part of us ranging from house to acid to disco to warehouse, and will have something for the classic DS fan, as well as some new vibes. We hope you'll like what you hear. Sincerely yours, Lars & Maarten

WE are happy to present you our Vinyl ARV004.

Following the revival last year of "The Basic Collective EP" Sascha continues the series with a really special guest "Aquarius Heaven".
The "A" side is a tribute the legendary Kerri Chandler and labels such as King Street, Shelter and Madhouse. It includes a full vocal House Track as well as an instrumental version of the same.
On the "B" side Sascha goes back to his deeper Detroit roots. Pure "Old-school" House Music.

Finally repressed

Stephan Bodzin´s touching - Sungam' hit the Resident Advisor top 10 last year even twice and is still in the box of many jocks! Here we finally have the single release including three new interpretations of the opening track of - 10 yrs Systematic' compilation. Besides the compulsory beatless original version produced by Stephan himself there are respectful mixes by Mobilee´s figuregead Rodriguez Jr. and Crosstown Rebel´s shooting stars Fur Coat!

Rhythm and melody, the beat and the bass - that's what proper club music is all about. And with current Chihouse revivalists galore, it's really hard to come up with something really true to the roots, and brilliantly fresh at the same time. Recognition Recordings, run steadily by Jacek Sienkiewicz, Poland's true visionary of contemporary club beats in a world of post-techno, passes its 30th release with this four-track marvel of an EP by one Chino. A nickname of one Artur Oleœ, a modest analogue gear freak and award-winning graphic designer known for his stripped-down, monochromatic eye candies, delivers some truly timeless variations on the classic theme. It's all there - simple, but cleverly constructed beats, lovely, dreamy melodies flowing on top of the nastiest, rawest and most moving baselines heard for a long time this side of Atlantic. It's proper house business here - not a shade of stylings abundant nowadays, this is true music coming from the heart and mind of a gifted musician, choosing a hard road of analogue machinery instead of easy route of software plugins. The EP starts with Raw and Rugged , where Chino explains his use of samples by - yes, a sample explaining why the samples are legit when it comes to sampling. Sounds crazy Yes, unless you hear this timeless piece of, well, sample-driven, raw, muscular house music. Estate is yet another exercise in meaty, warm analogue bass music, iced with dreamy melody. Early Days is an instant party classic - like a long-lost gem from back in '87, an analogue groove with a monstrous bass hook and crystal-clear machine drums, iced with a lovely melody. It goes even further with a storming remix from Legowelt, the man who can do no wrong at the moment... A dense, tight, peak-time rework from one of the true purveyors of proper analogue sound. All this, pressed in high

When a label within thirteen catalog releases has only one of them branded as 'various artists', than the focus on this release seems to be really interesting. Exactly that is the case with DREIZEHN and it's three protagonists. Der Dritte Raum co/pilot ‚Ralf Uhrlandt' opens up the split-release with his elegant-motor - skills house to techno track New Sights on the A side. With his contribution the door's lifted from the hinges and when the guitar hook line appears you're kissed from the sun in a world of an easy-going, feather light dance expressed manifest. On the B1 CLICK FARM crafts a wonderfully layered, deep minimal bassline driven hunter-techno masterwork which surely will be heard this summer on the dancefloors. B2: Der Dritte Raum - an old friend and labelowner of the swinging addiction- grooves here with his tune ‚El Sonido' and shows again the great school of easy techno music production. Big 12 release.

After his successful first vinyl release as "Echtzeit" on melted
recordings (mtd.001), with very positive feedback by many dj's, the

harmonics - are listening music and dance floor compatible, too. Plus 3
"locked grooves" we have 6 tracks on this vinyl. This record comes in a

New Apron artist 'Bastien Carrara', Parisian bad boy beats the hell out of his MPC & records onto tape..

'Tablao' is a dubbed out infused roller that incorporates live recorded elements referencing the wooden floor where the flamenco dancers perform on. Full of atmosphere and suspense with guitar and percussion elements layered with chords that brings the drama of the dance.

First lady of the Dutch house & techno scene Estroe (Rosedale Records) takes on the alternative A-Side with a dark and atmospheric cut full of mystery and breakbeats. The B-Side is headed up by Pablo Bolivar (Avantroots Records), his subtle, warm and intriguing mix is coupled with a more jazzy vibe, playing around with the chords to give a more balearic sound. Lastly UK Producer MJ F!TZ (HATCHED) takes things down the road of vigorous beats, stabs, vocal cuts providing an energetic workout with emphasis on the deep soundscape of the original.

Designed with the music collector in mind the limited (500) vinyl release will be available from May 2015 packaged in hand made sleeves made from recycled materials.

HNNY is back on Local Talk, and this time he's giving us Noth-ing !

This single-sided and LIMITED 12 is packed with all the trademarks of a great HNNY track, It's easy to see anyone would fall for this release - It's got all the things we've come to love and enjoy from his effortless productions, clean melodies, vocal lines and harmonies that fit exceptionally well & distill the very essence of what House is about.

The Trunkfunk label has been pushing out quality electronic music from its Gothenburg base for fifteen years now.
Owned by local promoter Nibc it has had an open hearted approach to its releases which have featured house, electronica and bumpy urban beats since 2000. For this latest offering the imprint turns once again to local talent 'Ishivu' for two cuts of deep and cultured house music backed with remixes from Matt Karmil and Shakarchi & Straneus. The release will appear as a limited vinyl 12" with its own unique, hand drawn artwork by renowned artist Ingo Giezendanner.
The record opens up with the excellent 'Gryning' , meaning 'dawn' in Swedish. It's a stripped backed affair with a bobbling bassline and sparse percussion leading the way before a multitude of off-kilter FX hit the sound pallette to great effect. The addition of warm, swelling pads, subtle melodic parts and muted vocal snippets all add to the depth of the production and give a sense of early morning. In compliment to dawn, Ishivu follows up with 'dusk', or 'Skymning' as it's titled in his native tongue.
Filtered toms and skittering hats blend with understated birdsong to lead the listener into a hypnotic and immersive track dominated by edgy bass and wonky pads. The EP is completed with two remixes of 'Gryning'. The first comes from UK DJ/producer Matt Karmil who has had a busy year, releasing on Tim Sweeney's Beats in Space label and remixing for the likes of John Talabot and Axel Boman's Talaboman. Here he reworks the original into a more direct dancefloor cut whilst retaining the charm of Ishivu composition. The second mix comes from Studio Barnhus regulars Shakarchi & Straneus who reassemble 'Gryning' in their own image, dropping in delayed vocal edits and scattered percussion to delvier a near perfect groove.
This is a sublime package from a producer that deserves our attention.

ltd summer sales pack contains mangue024+025+026 featuring artists like Fabian Schumann, Black Vel, Dapayk, Raumakustik, Alec Troniq and more..

London based duo Moodtrap have remained anonymous under this guise since stepping onto the scene in 2011 via Tsuba Records, although the pair have a long standing relationship with electronic music having been releasing material and touring the globe for many years.

Here we see the pair add a new label to their affiliations, namely London's Lower East which has just celebrated a milestone five years releasing material.

Title track 'Make It Better' kicks off the release here and see Moodtrap deliver their signature raw sound with dry crunchy drums, glitching bass stutters, mesmeric chord sequences and a snaking amalgamation of vocal lines throughout the records seven and a half minute duration.

4Lux's Gerd steps up to rework Make It Better next, adding an even rawer edge to things with lo-fi rhythms, penetrating rave stabs and intricately processed snippets from the original composition.

Lower East's lead man Cozzy D steps in to reshape Make It Better to follow, bringing a more direct house feel to things via looped vocal swells, a bumpy sub bass hook and swinging 909 drums.

Moodtrap return with a second original next to close the package, in the shape of 'Ethos Of Love' which drops the tempo and fuses shuffled drums and vocal stabs with wandering arpeggios and hooky chord hits...

Berlin based Quarion make his debut on Tamed Musiq with Funkhaus Phantoms. Two tracks straight out the mind of the retreat boy.

When was the last time that you came across a Quarion record It was probably back in 2010 with "Moons Around Jupiter" and since then the producer went largely missing. Feeling that he had reached an artistic dead end, Quarion decided to take a step back from the scene in order to experiment with new ways of making music. It took almost 3 years but needless to say, it was worth the wait: "Shifts In the Environment" is an essential collection of superb tracks which celebrate House music in its various declinations. Although it still sounds unmistakably Quarion, one can't help but notice a certain toughness in this new material as well as the will to break rules, making this EP a fascinating listening experience and a sure-shot 12" for the dance floor! If "Moons Around Jupiter" reached for the stars then "Digging For Water" is the homecoming on good old Earth. This dirty and groovy slice of House music begins as a vintage Quarion production with its funky beat, bubbling sub bass and strings. After a quick build-up, the track introduces a filtered chord sequence that grabs your attention straight away. The chords slowly unfold with subtle new harmonies until the break brings forth an exciting new bassline...

SEFF doing what he does best here courtesy of a new EP that's full of killer up-tempo hues and isn't for the feign of heart. To put it mildly: this one will positively desiccate any dancefloor it is allowed to roam free on.
The aptly named 'Warehouse' gets us underway.
A booming track full of brilliant high-end notes, it will keep you intrigued throughout. On remix duty is none other than sometime Hot Creations man, Robert James.
His remix is a more curious proposition full of ample percussive textures and a groove that keeps your attention firmly locked in throughout.
The second half of the release gets going with Liquid Nights an unconventional track that's buoyed by a host of spiky synths and unlikely vocal snippets.
The drums are pronounced too, giving it a vague techno edge that helps lend it that something extra.
12Stories remix is more languid and laid-back, and in the process it helps give the release an added diverse gloss. Good times aplenty on this one.

P.D.D are proud to introduce Yoshitoshi to our ever expanding label roster....
First up on on wax is the boss man Sharam's intoxicating cut HEAVi.....

I was at Warung back in 2012 discussing music with Seth Troxler. We both realized that a key factor for a good producer/DJ is to make and play interesting music, void of any arbitrary genre or labeling.

Long story short, i sent him this thing i had been sitting on called Tripi and he went on to champion that record for a good year and finally released it on his label as the inaugural release.

I was inspired by how that record resonated with a lot of Djs from all across the musical gamut. So i made a follow up of sorts and here you have it. - Sharam

Enough! Music welcomes in the new year with a new release by label founder and artist, Danilo Schneider. Two convincing originals with the typical Schneider groove that is immersed with moody energies, governed by a slight detroit touch. The pace of each track is pulsating, pushing hard and aiming directly to the dance floor. On the remix side, Enough! has sought the work of Romanian Ada Kaleh, whos mix is on par with an intense, hypnotic groove that wont let you go. Here are presented three weapons for the night and certainly a talking point for all underground lovers of this style of tech funk. Enough! Music hopes you will enjoy this trip!
