VDR009 Punta Christo' marks the debut artist EP of London techno duo Our Mutual Friend. Glenn Middleditch and Mark Leigh are primarily known around London for their monthly Friends of Ours' night in Peckham, which has allowed them to hone their live set alongside guests like Jane Fitz and Juju and Jordash, and their recently launched Mutual Friend Recordings' label which made a splash earlier this year with a strong EP from STL. It was in fact that acclaimed producer who first connected the pair with Voodoo Down when they began looking for other labels to branch out on. The EP consists of three diverse but complementary tracks: the title track being the atmospheric club-ready anchor, Reverse Polarity' a rolling bass-and-tom workout, and Smell of Rain' the psychedelic slow burner. This record caps off a fruitful year for the group (the title Punta Christo' pays homage to the Dimensions Festival venue where they played for the first time over the summer), and hints at great potential and willingness to explore.

Following on from his 2012 Autoreply debut The Model steps up again with a precise, deadly-effective two tracker. As a producer he can never be pigeon-holed serving up his mysterious blends of deep, robotic, space- funk across labels like Traum Schallplatten, Crosstown Rebels and his own Clone-powered Adult Central imprint . "Night Time's The Right Time" finds the Romanian in fine-form laying down punchy drums with pulsating-bass, persistent chords and analog synth-tension. Flip the disc for "Wolf" and you get a darker, dub-driven take over the same infectious, floor-shaking beats. Long tracks, mastered to perfection and playable to the max - check it.

For the first time on vinyl! from StrangeLife The Rise And Fall Of Manuel Noriega part2: In the south of Panama lies the Darien Gap, a vast unpenatrable jungle swamp that divides Central and South america. It is so hostile that even the Pan American highway stops there in what would otherwise be a non-stop highway stretching from Alaska to Argentina. Many explorers never returned and it is believed that the 10.000 square mile piece of green hell is home to secret guerilla bases, drug labs and many mysterious & dangerous animals. 7 tracks of defeatistic electronic eurohorror.

If The Walking Dead needed a club anthem, this would be it.
Lumbering out of the vaults of Swiss newcomer Olafson, "Coco Light" is a spooky and euphoric tale of new beginnings, culminating when 'she saw morning come'. The lids are blown right of the caskets as Dachshund casually knocks out a sleek, hard swinging tech house dub shufe and Dave The Hustler's version puts jacking beats to thudding and bowel rattling bass.
Watch the needle shake in the groove of your limited vinyl edition!
About the Artist
When Dave The Hustler and Evil C (Clive Jenkins) launched their vinyl only imprint in 1998 as a way to get their own beats played in clubs they didn't quite know what to expect, but the Swiss based Paparazzi records quickly gained support from the likes of Sven Väth and Laurent Garnier, and their releases made their way onto mix tapes by Tiga or Felix da Housecat.
Thanks to that and close ties with Switzerland's strong electronic music community in the early 00's and beyond, Paparazzi had the privilege of releasing an eclectic range of talented artists and styles during its short lifetime. After difcult industry times for vinyl, a bankrupt distributor and 10 releases, Paparazzi went silent in 2004 as Dave focused harder on his producer and dj career, always keeping in the back of his mind to get the label started again.
2013 marked the return of the label with an even stronger commitment to releasing a broad range of exciting new music of all styles by some of today's top artists and emerging talents.

The Book of Ra EP features two impressive tracks, that come across more warm and almost poppy but are decorated impressively by the mixed duo. Well batched and placed vocals make both of these tracks dynamic, striking and emotional. The disc is rounded off with a remix of the track Goldify by Alfred Henrichs, the label owner and supported by the charming voice of Viviana Alvarez.

It's fair to say that Vince Watson is a true unsung hero of house and techno. The Glasgow born producer and DJ has been making genre-defining and genre-bending records for almost 20 years, with highly celebrated releases on labels such as Planet E, Tresor, Delsin, Ibadan and his own Bio Music. Now living in Amsterdam, Planet Funk is Vince's first outing on Poker Flat. The lead track is a confident slice of twisted machine funk, highly charged yet otherworldly in atmosphere - as the title suggests. Luna City Express' Marco Resmann takes his remix into deeper territories, yet maintains the crisp, full production vales of the original nicely. Watson's control over tension and dynamics is exceptional, and he exhibits this again on 'Paradise' - an elegant tech house bomb that interweaves multiple complex elements yet remains singularly affecting.

Alfred Heinrichs proofs once again that his work is thoughtfully chosen and carefully crafted to align
the certain profundity and symbolic that is so characteristic for his work. In his new EP
he addresses everybody's doubts - Am I on the right track Why are things happening the way that
they are occurring
Very well, but isn't it maybe just our mind that is playing a trick on us. Maybe it's just doubtful
perfectionism that lets our thoughts drift away into the darker sphere and makes us feel insignificant.
Maybe, sometimes we are thinking too much and this flood of thoughts overwhelms us and creates
the so called "braintv".
It is exactly those lines of thought that Alfred Heinrichs is trying to catch within his new sonorous
techno-track called "braintv". Deep bass harmonizes with firm beats which are accompanied by a
memorable melody that makes you wishing to hear more. On top, the EP embraces three more
remixes from Alfred Heinrichs friend and fellow Carlo Ruetz, the newly signed Florian Frings by Minus
and the talented techno tyro Gaga.

' Wilson return with the sequel to every discernible house DJ's favourite 'Split Grooves' EP - this time on a striking slab of blue vinyl to aesthetically adorn your record collection... Kicking off the EP is Label head Fabio Monesi with '624', which as the title implies appears to be a homage to Kerri Chandler's nom de guerre 623 - not to mention being a follow-up to Fabio's own '623' track on Albion Records' debut 12inch. With a heavy kick, warm bass and driving chords, '624' effortlessly captures the essence of classic New Jersey productions that's synonymous with early 90s house complete with a Milanese twist - tailor-made for a basement, a red light and a feeling.
Next up is 'Wilson's Krime' which in contrast to the warmth of the previous track opts for a more raw, aggressive tip Wild Pitch style complete with an arresting breakdown and inspired use of an old Beatproduction vocal sample preaching 'Just dance and move your body' - one to rinse peak time.
On to the B-Side and Wilson welcome's back Finnish export Deymare who previously featured on Wilson's 'Underground Warriors Part 2' EP. With 'Living The Dream' Deymare concocts a trademark warm groove complete with Chicago claps, uplifting keys and intermittent old-school vocal sample elevating the track over usual house-fare... Rounding off the EP is 'Waxmen' which as the title suggests showcases Deymare's love for records and is a nod to the label's 'vinyl-only' ethos. Coming complete with killer keys, heavy hats and tight percussion complete with an old-school groove, 'Waxmen' wouldn't sound out of place on an old dusty Nu Groove 12inch a la Burrell. '

It gives us great pleasure to welcome London-based producer Leif in to the Idle Hands fold. From his earlier micro house releases alongside Tom Ellis on their Trimsound label through to starting the otherworldly UntilMyHeartStops imprint alongside Tom's brother Joe, he has displayed an innate gift for combining crisp, flexible rhythms with serene, dubby melodic content that sits in a comfortable flux between icy and warm, natural and synthesised, funky and floating.
Last year he released his debut album Dinas Oleu on Fear Of Flying to great critical acclaim, while recent outings for Sudden Drop and Ornate have equally documented the latest developments of an artist calmly travelling down a very personal creative path.
This release for Idle Hands has been a long time coming, and it finds Leif exploring a more broken rhythmic template compared to his more house-focused fare

Mihai Popoviciu joined the team for the fifth vinyl release of the Popcorn Records' fabric. From Sibiu, Romania, Mihai is known and respected as a major producer, being part of the Highgrade family, and freshly signed on Poker Flat Recordings.
We begin this record with Sortable, evolving with a deep vibe around a subtle patch that conveys you in weightlessness. The whole theme is sprinkled with a synth that unconsciously reminds you the cue of a famous pink comic of your childhood... D'Julz (Bass Culture, Circus Company) have been seduced by this original track, and gave us a great rework by using all the elements in a total different way, focusing on the drum's effects.
On the B face, Blur close this records with melodic patches and slight strings flying around a deep bass for a perfect summer result.

The prolific production partnerships of Greg Wilson & Derek Kaye, Timo Maas & James Teej and the solo force of Citizenn take Róisín Murphy's 'Jealousy' to new levels with fresh remixes of the smash single released earlier this year.
Róisín Murphy's compelling vocals are set in new bright landscapes by disco dons Greg Wilson & Derek Kaye, London retro-futurist Citizenn hot of the heels of his debut album on Crosstown Rebels and Timo Maas & James Teej. Co-written and produced by the great Sheffield bastion of house, The Crooked Man AKA DJ Parrot (Crooked Man), formally of Sweet Exorcist (Warp) and All Seeing I (FFRR).
Róisín Murphy has become one of the most competent, enduring and influential figures in the pop, disco and electronic music worlds. The Irish singer-songwriter originally broke into the charts as the frontwoman for Moloko, delivering music that was leftfield electronic and pop-orientated. Her consequent output, three stunning solo albums, and Mi Senti a beautiful Italian language EP with The Vinyl Factory alongside guest vocal presence on labels like Hot Creations and Permanent Vacation have ensured Róisín's enduring legacy and constant evolution as an artist.
'Jealousy' was also mixed by the legendary Eric Kupper, who was a production partner with Frankie Knuckles and Dave Morales and whose K-Scope releases were a staple of 90's American NY House.

Adesse Versions started out as a re-edit series, with humble ambitions of releasing a couple of white labels, nothing more, nothing less.It kept growing with both original productions and remixes appearing. It didn't take long until tracks such as Pressured, Modal and Justified appeared on charts and the records found their way to such esteemed people as Derrick May, Larry Heard, Gilles Peterson and of course Mad Mats & Tooli.
Since then it's been an ongoing theme with Kevin Gormans music, yes that's his real name. Always well received and played by many. Now Adesse is making his Local Talk debut with the 'Wash My Soul EP', three premium cuts of dance floor energy in the most delightful of ways.
The title track opener lavishes layer upon rich layer of sound driven by a punchy rhythm and shifting hi-hats. Flip over for 'The Light', a straightforward chunk of jackin' house and finally 'Thank U', a feel-good dance floor cut that's sure to put smiles on faces whenever it's played. There's no doubt Adesse has created an EP that manages to stitch together something that hits you hard and comforts you at the same time.

Spilt Milk the label behind some of London's best parties step out with their 3rd release. This EP features four tracks skilfully put together by St. Bernard, who gives us the 2 original cuts for the record. The originals are also expertly flipped by Tred Benedict and Alexi Delano to round out the EP in superbly low-slung fashion. When You Do opens proceedings with a flourish of shimmering washed out dub stabs almost delicately placed over the marching beat. St. Bernards opening track conjures up progressive but full on rhythm with dubbed out hats that make this one, really take the lead. A versatile opener that really brings you in. Alexi Delano remixes with his fierce tech house assault with a seriously trippy take on the original. Freaky synth work and surreal modulation remove the hypnotic style of the other remix and offers up a more acid trip. The Tred Benedict remix sees things stripped right back to the core. No emotive stabs here, the vocal turns hypnotic and repetitive. The focus is on an infectious groove that's sure to keep the floors rolling, in the repetition grows a certain beauty. Vince Street closes up the EP. A straight up roller built for those hot, late and sweaty dancefloors, who are ready to go hard into it. Minimal, aggressive and subby this track flips the script with the EP and adds that extra element that a great EP needs....
