Following the explosive launch of Social Experiment Records' with the inaugural release delivered by the infamous DJ Qu, Jonny White looks to long time friend and fellow Toronto native Jonathan Lee to fulfill high expectations.

Opening up the ep is Parallel Gardens, a 4 to the floor brooding techno stomper with Whispering vocals and spacious sprinkles of Mind bending effects which transport you from the dance floor to another dimension.

Next up is Exit To Eden, a heavy bass driven concoction with drenched in a fog of airy pad's, giving it some breathing room between each cadence this killer cut has to offer.

Closing out the Ep is Portal Ten, a gritty, energizing affair and a DC10 Favourite this past season - now ready to find its way into dj bags across the globe.

Jonathan Lee follows suit on from Social Experiement's first EP, delivering another well rounded package of raw, uncompromising club cuts for those searching for the purest of the pure. It seems with only two releases to date, Social Experiment is clearing a path for it's own road.

S.K.A.M. who has released on Gruuv, Toy Tonics and ALiVE Recordings and has been producing since the 90s, making techno, deep house and everything in between. His first cut here is 'Superstar' featuring Therr Maitz, a slow, purposeful deep house cut with pained and discordant synth lines stretched over lazy beats. Maitz's airy vocals add a layer of emotion and the gurgling bassline and subtle build of tension and release throughout is expertly designed for the dancefloor.

There are two remixes of this one, firstly from Culprit label bosses and production trio Droog all the way from LA. Their slightly more angular and bumpy remix is more direct but is still as deep, with its molten melodies and impish late night spirits. It's a nicely curious late night groove that really gets under your skin.

Secondly, New York house star and Poker Flat and Ovum producer MANIK remixes the track into a more peak time, tech edged affair. Keeping the original's vocal line he layers in sharp hi hats, glistening drums and plenty of energy. When it drops proper in the second half, wiry robot lines squirm about and the drums bang with extra bounce.

Finally, 'On The Run' is another carefully constructed affair with sombre strings, liquid chords and pained musicality at its core. Deep house drums provide the framework for this emotive, melodic number and it's a truly sensitive bit of work with trilling trumpets and weird hooks from start to finish.

This is an EP bristling with fresh house sounds and once again suggest that Gipsy Music is on its way to becoming an essential modern outlet.

Reissue of a unknown b-side of an early Belgian trance outfit release. Before they made euro trance they made this heavenly balearic gem. It screamed for Lauer remixes and he provided...
Unless you have been sleeping it should be pretty obvious that WPH head honcho Red D has a weak spot for early Belgian trance stuff. Before trance was even known as trance that is... The early 90ies were the post new beat era in Belgium and loads of producers were experimenting with new sounds to steer away from the blatantly commercial new beat chart stuff. So that's when the magic started happening.

One of these producer outfits was The Mackenzie, who on their very first releases covered a territory somewhere between new beat, Chicago house and Balearic sounds. None of these tracks really 'hit', but some 25 years later WPH shows you that true timeless quality always resurfaces. 'No Promises' is simply a divine piece of work from start to finish and should become that underground summer hit played by any DJ worth his or her salt when it comes to putting melody over beats. One listen to this one and it's easy to see why German stronghold Lauer was the go to man for some remix action. Lauer brings you a different take and a classic cover version of the original.

As a little bonus Locked Groove & Red D made an edit of a remix done by The Mackenzie in that same period. I think you will agree that both these tracks were made to be on one E.P. Trust WPH to bring it back in a different way!

Nearly two years ago we released Mys/Kela by a newish Stockholm-based producer who had put out a couple tracks on a couple labelsStudio Barnhus and Local Talkowned by friends from around town. That producer's name was HNNY and a lot has happened since then, both to him and to us. He's gone on to crank out more L.T. 12"s as well as some he's dropped on his Yummy and Puss imprints, we've gone on to unleash a couple dozen more records and see the list of talent we've hosted at our parties grow to astounding length. Somehow, through it all, we managed to stay close with HNNY, who's real name is Johan Cederberg, and even book him for a couple NYC gigs. The friendship that began so humbly and gently in 2013 has blossomed. So our timing to release the follow up to that classic collection of carefree, sun- kissed summertime grooves couldn't've been better. As we see the winter thaw into spring to expose greens below and blues above, we give you Solsidan/Alby, a sequel, of a sort, to Mys/Kela. Like the inagural EP, this one's got two originals, the first of which is heavy on smooth, looped-up vocals with no lyrics, and the second of which takes classic house tropes and romanticizes them to an almost saccharine point. Also like the first EP, there're two remixes included in this package. First one's by Avalon Emerson, a Berlin-via-San Francisco producer who's been making waves thanks in large part to a slew of impressive cuts for labels like Icee Hot and Spring Theory. The other's by Ana Helder, an Argentine from the Co´meme posse who has a penchant for injecting electro and disco and herky-jerky rhythms into her house tunes.
That first release was all about getting close and cozying up. This one's all about adventuring outside and exploring new corners and enclaves of our beautiful world. Enjoy.

Kim Ann Foxman's 'Creature'was the introduction to her solo career. Now getting a rerelease and rework for her unstoppable Firehouse imprint, complete with fiery remixes from a/jus/ted, Nick Simoncino and Richy Ahmed.

Originally released on Andy Butler's Mr International, Foxman's liquid gold vocals on 'Creature' were her first endeavour since their time together in Hercules & Love Affair and a beautiful example of her adept technique to craft unique, synth­inspired dance music. Undeniably her most recognised record, championed on Radio 1 and the like, it was never given the attention it deserved, leading to this special reinvention for her new label.

'Creature is a jam that I hold very close to my heart,' explains Kim,'so I'm really excited to be releasing it, along with brand new remixes, on my own label Firehouse. It's never been
available on wax vinyl before so I'm really excited that I'll finally be able to have it in my hands.'

Kim's own remix brings the track in line with her current style, the retro edges polished to a smoother finish and her vocals drifting away in whispering licks.a/jus/ted is a fellow New York outfit, his versions grounded in high energy and acid heat, while ItalianNick Simoncino's two versions are charred with nostalgia, elevating the classic house and techno and highlighting the track's simplicity. Finally Hot Creations figure Richy Ahmed's version decelerates the tempo and cracks and sizzles with finesse, giving this untamed 'Creature'many new leases of life.

Back and cooking up more funk and flavor with his second album for Rekids, Mr G proves he's still the king of rhythm with 'State Of Flux'. Packing more history than most of the top current producers put together, Mr G has been fine-tuning his breed of music for two decades. Described by the man himself as 'it's all about a bassline', his music takes the formula of a ballad and the movement of reggae. Peur Bleue Records present "SE15 Tales" by ghostly Peckhamite producer Nick Araguay. This elaborate first effort depicts his lavish and exuberant lifestyle in South East London, mixing sophisticated pads, Sheffield-heavy basslines and bitcrushed claps, while oscillating between classic techno and emotive house. Peckham is on fire.

Kazak sees Swaab return to Wrong State, presenting one of his most direct and intense workouts to date, following recent releases on Voltaire Music, Push-Push, Jesus Was Black and Recovery Tech. Grunting bass drives along one of his typically stomping grooves, metallic atonal synths giving the track an icy cool. Subtle dashes of infectious percussion increase the track's energy, with a big atmospheric break allowing some hypnotic FX to take centre stage. It's a heady, dark ride that carries a lot of weight without ever overbearing.

Marcman's rework is the most upbeat of the package, bringing the swinging groove that saw him release on Adult Only, Bass Culture and Love Letters From Oslo and marrying it to seductive female vocal refrains and deft switches in rhythmic percussion. Nervmusic's Denis Kaznacheev supplies a disorienting, woozy remix reminiscent of Villalobos in his deepest moments, mysterious newcomer Chasing Blondes provides a charismatic acid workout that recalls early Winx, while Romania's Horatio (Natural Rhythm, Quanticman Records and Waldliebe Familien) also plumps for a dab of acid but delivers in a far more soft, deep and tripped-out manner on his contemplative ride through slow-burning grooves.

Gipsy Music is a new music label offshoot of the famous Gipsy club in Moscow, the current Russian home of everybody from big stars like Sven Vath, Luciano and Loco Dice to great underground acts and parties like Half-Baked, Next Wave and many others!

The label enters the world with style to the swinging rhythms of "house gangster #1' from Russia - Tripmastaz. With remixes by the Leftroom boss Matt Tolfrey and Parisian house breakthrough Djebali .«Taped / Lemme In» is the first release from Andrew Tripmastaz, in which he truly reveals his musical perspective - house music of all shapes and colours universally understood on any "true" dance floor.

Legwork's 2nd single comes from another one of our Texas compatriates, the indelible Brett Johnson, fresh off some amazing work on Classic, Get Physical, Rawax and other killer imprints. The Mission harks back to some of our favourite dub-techno moments, but keeps it's own flare with Brett's signature robo-rhythms and chopped and screwed vocal cuts. On the remix tip, it's label head Lance DeSardi & Convextion bringing their own flavour to the table respectively, with Lance stepping to the chord memory, deep bass, and over sampled drums, and Convextion going all the way out into hyper space with his usual sub-aquatic space funk.

Brand new label out of Munich city. Musica Autonomica. "We are devoted to the night and to the music. We see ourself as part of a special generation in a very unique time. With Musica Autonomica we share and spread our love for music with the world." The first release on Musica Autonomica from Munich based super producer Christian Prommer. Well known for his Drumlesson project or his numerous collaborations he is now working on a brand new solo project.

The original tracks for this Ep were planned as part of the new Christian Prommer album, but disappeared under mysterious circumstances after the parts have been sent to the remixers.They have to be reassembeled from the remix parts again. But the remixes turned out so great that we decided to give them to you first with no delay. The track Sarabande was given a futuristic and cinematic treatment by the german producer Christian Lffler. The remix sounds fantastic and its sound design is mind-blowing. Christian Prommer and Christian Lffler already shared a 12" on Life And Death records last spring. Christian Lffler has played this remix in his great live set at Sonar Festival and around the world. On Wonders Of The World, Christian Prommer teamed up with longtime friend and singer/songwriter Tommy Hien. The LA based bavarian musician co-wrote and sung the beautiful folk influenced song. It got a deep and driving dance floor rework from the polish deephouse maestros Catz `n Dogz. They took time out their super busy touring schedule to give this tune a lot of love and magic. The intro alone is a sensation. Musicality all the way. Catz n Dogz, Christian Lffler and Christian Prommer are regulars at the Galeria Autonomica and Rave Autonomica parties in southern germany. The next one with all three will be in munich at Olympiapark on September 1st.

For its first excursion, the new space inspired label Meteorythm took off from earth to return with three atmospheric tracks.
On the A side, 'First Data' leads you beside their spacecraft from preflight to deep space experimentations by using a vocal countdown and a powerful delay bass. The analysis of the initial results led to the B side, 'Untitled Theories'. This one is based on a non-stop rolling hat and a groovy bass line, accompanied by scintillating synths. To complete the release, the Parisian producer Coni, reorganized the algorithms to immerse yourself in a mixture of deep frequencies especially designed for a big room.

Dirty Mac's highly anticipated return gets right to the gritty rub with four cuts of slow-burning and erstwhile white hot, dance floor choice.
New Tingle, a slow-mo Caribbean belter, has the trademark Dirty Mac buck-wild rhythm heard on his Sub-plate releases. The spacious programming, loosely hung and crisply executed hats and splashy snares steal through a listing, wormhole-acid lick and shimmering glockenspiel, while the 8-bit steelpan device combines for a muscular and agile groove. The towering, opiate bassline looms forward an unrelenting groove that menaces and entices in equal measure. This is how a fleet of tropical, spear-bristling war-ships sound as they cut a sizzling, ineffable path of destruction to a dance floor near you.
There is a masterful nonchalance to Fourth is the Charm of a kind that would smash up your best school project and hand back the bits with a smile, leaving you disarmed but entirely enthralled. The arrangement of sassy sample triggers keeps the ride nasty, but sharp over an unstoppable tilting low-end section, amorphous and buoyant, and booming around a low-slung 4x4 groove. The high-end electrics provide a contrasting dissonance, while bubbling acid licks propel everything forward so that you can't help but bop your head. Flies well below radar and guarantees dips in the hips!
Junior Barky has all the front - part grime, part dancehall, part electro-funk - to bring together each element into a surprisingly emotive and dystopian 'Living In A Land' redux. The evocative and almost wistful sound effects keep the atmosphere spacey and distant, while a quaking sub-bass lours in and out of view. The spiralling acid motif trips over itself endlessly, like a optical illusion in sound, fudgy and emphasising the surrounding high-definition arrangement. In fact some astonishing sountrack-esque production here. A track of stripped out, dub-wise space-funk, cut adrift via Croydon into another galaxy and beamed back to us from the future.
Coming to Dry Heat and we find a proper barn-stormer. Here we see the safety come switched off as almost unmitigated dance floor pressure ensues. Not immediately obvious as the groove starts pensive with deep, bubbling aquatic sfx, a cinematic sub-bass rumble warming up underneath. However, the drop is nothing if not dramatic, as the fierce attitude of the acid line, stutters and builds in relentless sharp edged fury. Inventive use of syncopated wood-percussion sounds permeates throughout and tees up the haunted-dancehall break. This winds and escalates in thick slabs of reverb and space-echo until the ebullient 303 tears back centre stage, all pots blazing. A truly stand alone track which masterfully switches between full throttle and emotive, harmonic restraint. The transitions between the two are sheer neck bristle.
This is Dirty Mac on his bossiest best. The sense that these high-octane pieces were immaculately forged and belies the production finesse of an accomplished studio hound. The effect feels like listening in 3D, as if you can inspect the reverse side of every razored hat and corrugated clap that fizzes past your ear. With a full compliment of vintage analogue, we hear the product of years in the dusty craft of machine-funk engineering: a keen insouciance that has no truck with routine and demands careful attention.

Frankey & Sandrino, hailing from Germany delivered one of the most outstanding 12'es in 2014. Their track Lost featuring London based singer Jinadu was one of the most played tracks during the closing of Amsterdam's legendary Trouw. It was championed by many established DJs such as Âme. Their reputation is raising and with an upcoming new 12' on Innervisions they are building a name for themselves.

Following a successful summer with releases from Steve Mac, Spencer Parker, &ME and many more,Saved presents their new compilation series "Collection". Making a presence on Collection A is music from established and new label artists. Josh Wink delivers a rendition of Steve Mac & Nic Fanciulli's "Give it to me" and Gary Beck presents another peak time bomb called "Funk Up High".Making their debuts on the label is Cadenza's Robert Dietz as well as Gonzalez & Gonzalo who have collaborated with Danny Serrano on "Wasabi". Anil Chawla returns to Saved for the first time since 2006 with "Silver Digger" which has been massive for Richie Hawtin as does Berliner Philip Bader with "Amir Loves you". The final addition to the compilation is a single from label boss Nic Fanciulli called "Neve & Me"

You might remember Shan from his one-sided Sven-Väth-approved hit 'How You Want It' for Frankfurt's newly founded label The Healing Company. Here he is with his monolithic 'Chord Memories". An evocation of what dubbed out house and techno tracks usually do, but to a rather unusual and - if we dare say - devastating effect. The flip holds three short and direct cuts with leanings to the A-Side and one acid track. Necessary ruffness.

Prime Numbers returns with a series of remixes of Trus'me favourites, including treatments from a host of current cherished producers.

The 12" features the MDR records duo Marcel Dettmann & Norman Nodge. Dettmann takes a diversion from his more familiar techno blueprint, working "Sweetmother" into a tight house groove. Intensifying all parts of the original he creates an insistent and deeply pressured production. On the flip "Good God" gets dubbed & smudged into a beguiling ghostly haze. Washerman is a story at it's best. The humble Gianni Siravo has been around since many years under different names. He released his first records in 1998 as SEQUEL on labels like Straight Ahead and Sonar Kollektiv. In 2008 he introduced us to his AZUNI project and released the album "City Look" on Agns' label STHLM Audio as well as 12"es on Morris Audio, Quinessentials and Drumpoet. In 2012 he decided to release his music as Washerman. His first single Kutz From The Basement EP for DPC became one of the most played records that summer/autumn and gained him a big reputation, followed up by countless remixes and releases on labels like Nite Grooves, Saft and Deso. He also started his own label DEEP DOWN SLAM, where he is championing music which is inspired by the early house groove of New York and Chicago. He has been busy travelling the world as a DJ and producing music, such as this honest raw album of quality house music. His first album entitled "Raw Poet" features nothing less than a 909, a Juno 60 and some other bits to create this unique groove we can not resist. It's simply underground dance music in its purest way and straight to the point.

Highway Records proudly presents its first split EP, epic release by Italian talent Francys (Time Has Changed, Resopal, Composite) and respected Russian producer Andrey Burtaev, mostly known under his Electrosoul System alias. "Crossing The White Line" and "Don´t So No" are 2 brilliant house tracks - deep, dark and twisted. Remixes are made by famous German artists, chart breakers and deep house men of the moment - 8Bit and Katchuli Records owner Gorge and Chris Lattner (Moon Harbour, Kling Klong, NRK, Tsuba, Baalsaal).

Tel Aviv's Red Axes are back on I'm a Cliché for the second instalment in their ongoing SHEM series. On this EP, four tracks that take different directions to reach the duo's signature sound while expanding the horizons of their already impressive production abilities. 

SHEMA hypnotic track driven by a simple, functional rhythm. Melodies, percussion, and sparse vocals give a distinctively human feel to the track's mechanical vibe. With brilliant use of space and subtle melodic variations, this track is reminiscent both of cosmic music and of timeless film scores in the spirit of Ennio Morricone's work.

OH KEY
Guitars, live percussion, synths and keyboards: this track is a throwback to Red Axes' early sound. With a hazy, slightly narcotic atmosphere thanks to the dance-inducing rhythm section and swirling guitar melodies, this is a fine piece of underwater surf rock whose potential in a club context must not be underestimated. 

SWEET JOHN GANG
If you've ever wondered what's the sound of an agogo rainfall, this is it. On this track where familiar latin percussion sounds are presented in a new light, Red Axes' ability to create playful and catchy melodies layered on an understated groove, heavily treated guitar and frequency oscillating synths is compelling. A psychedelic cut tested and approved on the dance floor by several high profile DJs in the last few months. 

MORE MORE AND MORE
The EP concludes with a track where a syncopated beat lets treated drums as well as slightly fuzzy bass line and synth stabs breathe through the mix. These dark elements contrast with lush pads, naive melodies optimistic chords and otherworldly horns. The result produces a fluid groove and much depth on this highly danceable track that seems to be Tel Aviv's response to The Hague's classic electro sound. 

The folks from PlayfulScience proove their passion for an advanced sound for the -later- moments...strong beats programming meet advanced pads so to lift you up to. Very nice 4-tracker!
