Die MASSE BOX stellt das Album - MASSE' und die drei Remix EPs von DIN, Dettmann / Wiedemann und Henrik Schwarz in einem Set zusammen. Sie beinhaltet eine CD im 6-Panel-Digipak und drei 12' Vinyl Singles n 3 verschiedenen Covern. Verpackt sind die Tonträger in einer luxuriösen Schachtel aus 800 g/m² Karton mit Mattfolienkaschierung und einer partiellen UV-Glanzlack-Verzierung, die Schachtel ist auf 500 Stück limitiert.
Die CD: Ein Tanzabend von drei unterschiedlichen Choreografen und Choreografinnen benötigt drei unterschiedliche Musikproduzenten. So einfach klingt die Idee hinter - MASSE', dem Sound zum Gesamtkunstwerk, einer Kooperation des Staatsballetts Berlin mit dem Berghain. Mehr noch: mit dem

Wiedemann und DIN lieferte den Ausgangspunkt für die Entwicklung der Choreografien.
Die Remix EPs: ein knappes Jahr nach der vielbeachteten Bühnenproduktion veröffentlichen DIN, Dettmann / Wiedemann und Henrik Schwarz nun je zwei ihrer Originalstücke im Remix für die Clubs.
DIN - Masse Remixes I
Auf der A-Seite - Euphorium' verwandeln DIN das elegant-dahinfließende Stück aus der Choreografie, das dort noch - Oscillation' heißt, zu einem Viervierteltakt-Track. Auf das Intro-Signal aus melancholischen Streichern folgt eine weiche Beatstruktur. Sie erstrahlt in Sanftheit, Farben in langen Wellen aussendend. Formt aus mehreren Melodie-Klecksen eine Möbius-Schleife, die sich über dem Durchpulsieren der Bassdrum zu einer pastellenen Unendlichkeit formen.

- Aetas' auf der Rückseite hingegen bleibt nackt, ohne auf Abstraktion zu setzen. Synths kurz vor dem Erfrieren, in einen breiten Hallraum platzierte Handclaps: Efdemin und Marcel Fengler kreieren etwas Ruhendes aus dem Material, das für die Bühnenproduktion noch - Conclusion' lautete. Seine Spannung erzeugt - Aetas' aus den Wegen der Überbrückung zwischen den Frequenzen: tiefe Bässe yes, Spitzen ganz oben yes. Was jedoch dazwischen passiert, mäandert völlig unvorhersehbar. Diese Adaption für die Clubs ist gelungen.

Dettmann / Wiedemann - Masse Remixes II
Zackig setzt sie ein, die Bassdrum von - Spiritoso': Was im Original noch synkopisch triggerte und zum
Licht hin truckerte, sucht nun die schützende Dunkelheit des geschlossenen Raumes. Dettmann /
Wiedemann glasern sich mithilfe eines nachttiefen Klavier-Motives, röchelnden Hall-Fahnen und
irrlichternden Keyboards ein Schwarzlicht-Terrarium. Die Wesen darin tänzeln und strecken sich nach
der besonderen Lichtquelle.

- Martellato' hingegen, die B-Seite, legt einen Absprung hin. Der Flug nach unten endet in einem weichen Netz. Vom trippigen Fiepen und Zerren des Bühnen-Originals ist hier kaum noch etwas wiederzuerkennen. Aus diesem Track tauchen Schemen auf. Sie verschwinden wieder, ehe ihr Gesicht zu erkennen gewesen wäre: Ein direkter akustischer Abdruck des Themas - Masse'.

Henrick Schwarz - Masse Remixes III
Der Berliner House-Maestro Henrik Schwarz verwandelt auf - Lockstep' sein Material aus der - Masse'-Kooperation mit dem Staatsballett durch feines Werken an den Filter-Effekten zum Zisch für den Floor.Das ist keine Abfahrt. Das ist das Rauschen für die Peaktime.

Der Pop-Hit des - Masse'-Soundtracks - Unknown Touch' hingegen erfährt im Floor-Mix ein mehr an Munterkeit. Zunächst wirkt es wie eine Idee aus den UK-Funky und Grime-Traditionen, wie Schwarz die heruntergepitchten Streicher zu einer Bassline verarbeitet. Später jedoch öffnet sich - Unkown Touch Two' dem Spielen mit den Klangkörpern. Pizzicati und Glöckchenjubel und klassische House Pianos wehen auf und ab wie ein Kind auf einer Schaukel. Ein Stück Musik wie ein Grinsegesicht, so deep, so glückbringend.

We are delighted to welcome prodigious Glasgow producer Alex Smoke to Optimo Trax for an EP. in our opinion, Mr. Smoke is one of the most advanced sound designers in modern electronic music who has demonstrated his talents across all sorts of releases in all sorts of not easily defined areas of music. Mit DAUWD stößt eines der vielversprechendsten Talente des Vereinigten Königreiches zur Künstlerriege von Kompakt. Nach einem Remix von COMAs MY ORBIT (KOMPAKT 278) im letzten Jahr dringt der in London ansässige Produzent mit der KINDLINN 12" tiefer in neues musikalisches Territorium vor, einer üppig instrumentierten Reise voll zündender Rhythmen und epischer Melodien. In drei schillernden Tracks rückt er zunehmend ab vom UK-Sound, für den er anfänglich bekannt wurde, und erfindet sich als Virtuose von treibendem House und romantischem Techno neu.

The Get Serious boys strike again, this time on the I'm in love main serie. And for this EP they've teamed up with Federico Alfieri to show us a deeper musical approach, more focused on dub. 'Aire' on the A-Side comes with a danceable rhythm and a bleak atmosphere, created by magnificent dub elements. On the flop we have another dark, dubby bomb, perfectly fitting on every afterhour. It also strongly represents our musical intention by drawing the connection to the labels first release.

The third release on Tel Aviv duo Deep'a & Biri's Black Crow label comes from Israeli talent Hakimonu. Having first emerged in 2007, Hakimonu has since initiated his own self-titled imprint, with over twenty releases from him and his close circle of like-minded friends since 2010. With a stated intention to 'explore the experience of infinity through sound & music", Hakimonu's debut Black Crow release should bring his intelligent fusion of techno, ambient, dub, jazz and acid to wider attention. Far more than a pair of dub techno excursions, the EP's original tracks Insular Realms and Jiriki retain a tougher, more experimental edge while encouraging listeners to explore the minute details in the spaces between the more prevalent elements of the tracks. The EP enlists Ed Davenport (under his Inland guise) and Black Crow bosses Deep'a & Biri for remix duties, with Davenport's dancefloor-rework of Insular Realms continuing his impressive run of form which has included hugely accomplished releases for Mosaic, his own Counterchange label and, as Inland, his collaboration with Function on their co-run Infrastructure New York. Deep'a & Biri meanwhile maintain their own high standards with their propulsive remix of Insular Realms, offering a less rough-hewn yet no less effective club-ready version.

Maurizio Cascella's debut on Wonder Wet Records, a first single with an unarguably techno flavor. Artist formerly known for his past productions with Elettronica Romana, label which marked a specific period in history in the capital,through a style and sound that has seen performers like Brando Lupi, Attilio Tucci, Donato Dozzy and Giorgio Gigli. Founder of Concrete Records, Cascella keeps his path through a sophisticated, no ordinary sound. A side - Old Rose: it is distinguished by the constantly present rhythmic, sometimes experimental without ever losing the groove,which supports the architecture of the track allowing the creativity to the bass and leads frames. B side - Black of Mars: markedly techno sound and a rhythmic construction , it takes you into an hypnotic and enveloping world, being able to express a very contemporary way of making electronic music.

Dissonant starts off this season 2014 in ibiza with Talented Spanish producer Medu. This new EP meets the Dissonant vision of adventurous and sensuous electronic music. Medu's minimal roots Immerse us into wild energetic drums and organic details. 'Shi-Sei' adventure into loose breakbeat flows with its central drum sample, constantly weaving textures and percussion in and out of the groove for a nerve-tingling trip. 'Bronq' has a more free-spirited drums approach,a more steady tech-house beat, with a bit of atmospheric sounds turns surprisingly this tune into futuristic carnival experience.

For its 8th release , House republic is introducing British artist Rachel Lyn Rachel has been active on the scene for some time , releasing music on Air London , remixing Kris Wadsworth... She delivers here two original tracks full of esoteric synths and dub atmospheres . On the flip side , Marco Faraone (Moon Harbour , Desolat ... ) reinterpreted Rachel music in his own rough and analogue techno way .

Warehouse Find!

It's with great pride (and a certain sense of defiance!) that Tom and I present you with the 200th Freerange release. Despite the best efforts of three bankrupt distributors, an arsonist (who set the Sony warehouse ablaze back in 2012) and a volatile market, we retained the fire in our bellies, a stiff upper lip, and most importantly an unrelenting passion for electronic music, we soldiered on and here we are at Freerange 200!
To mark the occasion we wanted to put together a compilation of exclusive new tracks from both long-standing Freerange regulars as well as some fresh artists to the label whose music we've been loving. Being committed to vinyl we figured the best way would be to do a two part release with four-tracks on each part.
Kicking things off we have my first original Jimpster track since Porchlight And Rocking Chairs. Head Spin is a relentlessly chugging house track which puts equal parts Disco, early House, Afro and Techno through the blender and out comes
a peaktime floor pleaser with a spring in its step and a lovely driving energy. I'm really proud of this one and hope you love it too! Next up we have Matt Masters teaming up with Pippo Ceretti on Xenophilia. We're like a couple of proud parents seeing how Matt has come on with his productions and this brilliant slice of freaky, stripped back electronic house shows he's heading for big things. Flip over for a very special track from Andy Hart, one of the Melbourne-based producers helping to re-invent and reinvigorate the current house scene alongside the likes of Harvey Sutherland, Fantastic Man and Andras Fox. Not only has Andy managed to establish one of the most hotly tipped new labels (Voyage Recordings) in the space of just two release, but he's also been rocking it with his productions on labels such as Heist and Sleazy Beats Black Ops and we're very happy to welcome him to Freerange with this sun-drenched slice of gorgeousness called MYLNY. Closing the first part we have long-standing Freerange regular Shur-i-kan stepping up with his track Raindance and if your tastes edge towards the jazzier,
fusion end of House then you'll be all over this one. Classic Shur-i-kan and sounding lush as ever!
Turning to Part B we open with a brilliant track with almost as good a title; Hamburglar from Luv Jam. This guy has been responsible for killer cuts on esteemed labels such as We Play House, Tsuba and Phonica White so we wanted in on
the action and thankfully he indulged us. We absolutely love the raw simplicity of this track which bumps along just perfectly with not much more than a kick, clap and single note bass line to keep you grooving. Apart from the repeating piano stab hooking you in and sending people nuts when everything drops out in
the break that is. Esa & Mervin Granger come next with the sublime deepness of Goema Heat. Esa's proudly wearing his Cape Town roots on his sleeves on this one and as the title
suggests, has come up with the perfect track to warm up any party worth it's salts. We're talking heavy on the percussion and tantalizing synth FX and a lovely tension which builds subtly before taking things up a gear after the breakdown when the bouncing bassline comes to the fore. It's fare to say a Freerange release such as this wouldn't be complete without a Manuel Tur contribution, so while we've been busy putting together his
forthcoming Remix Retrospective LP we're happy to say Manuel found the time to put together this gem entitled Laguenesie.
And last but not least we have Kito Jempere with his track This Is Why We Do This featuring Detroit luminary Jerry The Cat. St. Petersburg native Kito drops serious heat on this raw and dubby club jam which we feel is probably as close to an 'archetypal' Freerange track as it's possible to get so sums up this special
release perfectly. We thrive on your feedback so show your love people!

For Lost Records latest release we have enrolled the West Country's deadliest dancefloor duo Origins Sound for what could easily be described as their best release to date.  With numerous releases already on the likes of the Glasgow Underground & Morris Audio, after hearing their latest output we are glad we got these two on board just in time, as they start to make serious impressions on the scene.
 
The title track 'Dallas' kicks things off with a clear-cut, bassline heavy bumping house beat, which uses a sneaky vocal sample and a lingering contagious synth effect to create a direct dancefloor missile.
 
On a similar setting but more of a vibe 'Alias' goes straight in with a catchy vocal cut sitting on top of some spacey moments rounded off with a chugging bassline.
 
Remix duties fall to two forthcoming heavyweights who have been on our radar for a while.  First up is Copy Paste Soul's execution of 'Dallas'.  On a stripped back house groove, their techy and garage influenced sound shines throughout.
 
Glasgow duo Mia Dora round off this EP as they stamp their trademark-haunting edge all over 'Eulers Number'.  The original of this is a lot moodier, but on this occasion Rob and Al have brought their speaker thumping touch on board and added that destructive final touch to this dark vocal led bounce. A Space terrace / Sankeys summer smash in the making...

Little 15 has been making waves on the London house underground scene since Foot & Mouth snapped up his amazing bootleg of Depeche Mode's Policy of Truth. Several releases later, he joins forces with Rome's Metropolitan Records to bring you his distinctively melodic take on deep house; cascading synths over a bumping bassline, before a beautiful vocal swoops in to bring back memories of hazy sunrises and loved ones.
On the flip, Sam Russo (Leftroom) takes the track down a dark alley, turning it into a deep, ominous, techy monster, totally turning the song on its head.

Kito Jempere's Fata Morgana is back on track with second remix ep off his debut album Objects. On A-side you will find proper peak time banger by Moscow based Simple Symmetry duo (famous for their releases on Glenview Records, Low Budget Family and That's A Steal , supported by everyone from Lexx and Alexis Le-Tan to Mudd and Bradley Zero) and disco version of Typewriter by Poland based duo Ptaki (famous for their releases on The Very Polish Cut-Outs, Young Adults and they have their debut full-length album forthcoming now on Transatlantyk). On a flip u will find almost techno version of HW Whales made by Ruf Dug (famous for his Ruf Kutz label and much others releases on labels as Porn Wax and Unknown To Unknown) and Gas Station remixed by Moscow based Arsenii (he released on That's A Steal, Glenview and others)

Following on from their last 2 EP's on Rinse as well as there unique take on Route 94's - My Love, Maison Sky are welcomed into the "Materials" fold with their latest record, "69". This well rounded EP shows a real depth to the duo, progressing on from their previous efforts & fitting in perfectly with the textural aspects of Mak & Pasteman's Materials Imprint.
"69" leads the EP. Subtle textures, organic drums and dusty stabs build over a hypnotic rhythm. Maison's booming kick drums and skippy percussion combine with a simple catchy hook. "Dedo's Song" shows real emotion and progression building on atmosphere and the subtle interlacing of chords creating a rich and deep enviroment. Combined with an almost live sound to the beats, the lads give this track some real warmth and depth. "Lido" completes the EP, musically pushing their sound forward whilst maintaining dance floor impact. Layering lush melodies over powerful kick drums to establish Maison Sky's signature sound. Dynamically a great record which works as well in the club as on your iPod.

Italy's Niccolo' Detti aka Nicco launched the Recline Music imprint mid 2008 and has since gone on to release material from the likes of Oxia, Mic Newman and Anonym. Here we see Nicco return with some new material via the imprint, in the shape of 'Moon Games', whilst enlisting some heavy hitting remix artists as well to create a punchy package with a widespread appeal.
The original mix of 'Moon Games' kicks things off, a classic meets contemporary house number. Fusing old school elements such as meandering organ lines and stuttering guitar licks, while dubbed out vocals and bumpy rhythms add a modern charm to the composition.
French producer Gwen Maze, known for his work with Silver Network and Moodmusic offers up a remix next, pulling back the vibe to a more hypnotic, understated feel with ethereal pads, bubbling synth stabs and growling low-end tones. This is followed by Morris Audio's Julien Sandre who drops his remix next, and as expected it's a no nonsense house cut, tipping the focus over to a chuggy bass groove, tension building strings and rugged drums, resulting in a weighty peak-time interpretation.
Then Faceless Recordings co-founder Silky closes the package with his reshape, dropping the tempo and instilling some psychedelic aesthetics into the mix. The record veers things into darker territories with melancholy synthesizers, drawn-out subs and a gritty minimalistic feel to the drum programming, rounding things off brilliantly.

when the dancer disappears and only the dance remains, it is meditation the indian philosopher osho ones said. for the frankfurt-born, berlin-based producer and dj oskar offermann music is some kind of meditation, too. for him sound has the power to go beyond time and space. already as a teen he started to do music, primarily as a drummer in grunge and punk bands.

when he was 16 hip-hop hit him hard and he started to produce beats on his mpc that he uses till today. with 20 he moved to berlin and one night he landed in the old panoramabar at ostgut where zip celebrated a get perlonized' night.

all of a sudden the virus called dance music infected him - even though he already danced some nights away at the legendary robert johnson club situated close to his hometown frankfurt.

before dropping his first house tracks he launched the label white in 2007 together with a friend. followed by a second one called rimini in 2011 - a musical outlet for special edits that do not only thrill the dancers.
his productions quickly gained global fame due to their heartfelt rhythms and sensible melodies.

after countless ep's and a celebrated album on his own labels and befriended addresses like aim, thema and riverette he now is ready to drop another magical longplayer. this time on japan's finest mule musiq, that already welcomed offermann with one deeply moving ep in 2012.

the new album is called le grand to do' and most tracks he produced in 2014 - a year in which offermann started to eat part time vegan and dived deeply into himself through meditation. the desire for peace did not only emerge to compensate his wild and sleepless life as a dj.

also his interest in new age music made him listen more to his inner voice. the tracks he produced during this period of introspection have been crafted with a very disciplined mode of operation on cheap drum machines like an alesis hr-16, a boss dr660, a yamaha rx 70, computer and other synths.
