Currently bubbling under the surface of London's house scene, Phillip Ort is about to break through with his addictive debut single 'back To The Basics' on the mighty Kote Records imprint, complete with Labels head honcho Chase Buch aka Kleio's and rising star of Hot Creations HNQO's Remix.

Long-standing UK techno label Surface Records are proud to announce the follow-up to the highly acclaimed Terrence Dixon EP 'Lost At Sea'. Released to high acclaim in the late spring of 2013, the EP garnered huge support throughout both techno and house scenes, attaining single of the month in several publications.

The 15-track Badge of Honor takes it one step further, pushing the envelope of techno with quirky, Detroit-infused abstractions that only the masterful Dixon (once dubbed the Aphex Twin of Detroit techno) could conjure up. Far removed from his Population One moniker, this is Terrence Dixon's fourth LP in an illustrious 20-year career.

Spanning a slew of prominent labels such as Metroplex, Tresor, Utensil, Yore and Dixon's recently launched Reduction label, with releases forthcoming from such legends as Juan Atkins and Claude Young, Dixon and Surface are a match made in heaven for the purists out there - while touching on the bass-heavy sound that was utilised to such great effect in Lost At Sea.

The album hits us with raw, all-encompassing techno cuts alongside some choice left-field experiments (View From A Lighthouse, Radio Room and Light Years), cementing Terrence's reputation as the free-form producer of choice, not unlike a modern day Sun Ra. From the P-Funk basslines and melodies of Operation Acoustic and Incoming, to the dark, undulating Mills-esque sound of The Atlantic, this is a release that seemingly covers all the bases. Over a year in the making and already doing the rounds with those in the know, Badge of Honor represents techno from a future age, conceptualised to go well beyond the surface...

Marcos Cabral takes full control over the a-side with the epic and somehow melancholic yet jacking Dancing on Manhattan, a track already in demand due its appearance on Ben UFOs BBC Essential Mix. Beautiful Swimmers surprisingly make their L.I.E.S. debut with a monstrous party cut titled The Zoo, a piece of dancefloor saving breakbeat house. And last but not least comes a rough yet hazy track by the mysterious Entro & Terri, closing it out with the undoubted smokers delight.

Paul Müller introduces himself with a record that sports class and mass alike. Its mass is easily explained: it sports three superb remixer. What tells better than some good old namedropping... Jori Hulkkonen, Lauer and Matt Walsh. These guys and Paul Müller are the ones responsible for the release's class by delivering great tracks ranging from tech-house to Disco - and whatever you may call Joris sound.

Farah (formerly Darling Farah), joins Don't Be Afraid for his first release of the year, and his first under the newly shortened pseudonym. The itinerant young producer adopts a uniquely non-conformist approach to house and techno on this ep, as evidenced by the arcade game-sampling Cloudy Apple and the deranged funk of Lockhead. Speak On The Spotlight meanwhile presents a deeper option, whilst Humming and Pieced Apart hint at Farah's sound design credentials.

Glasgow Underground launches a new mix compilation series in May with the release of Optimo:The Underground Sound of Glasgow mixed by Optimo's JD Twitch. Each installment of The Underground Sound of... will see a DJ focus on his or her home city, compiling mixing and collection of music from said city.

Keith McIvor, aka JD Twitch is a name synonymous with quality and eclecticism in modern electronic music and his Optimo project alongside Jonnie Wilkes is no different. The duo's Optimo (E!pacio) club night, which ran from 1997 to 2010 on Sundays in Glasgow's Sub Club, is the stuff of legend. McIvor had previously been an electro, rock and punk funk DJ as well as promoter of Pure, a techno night that dominated Glasgow's clubbing landscare for ten years, until by his own admission, seamless mixing and 'obvious, easy and predictable' musical selections wore thing with him - planting the Optimo seed.
This 12 features 5 of the rarer tracks from the mix.

We first discovered young Glasweigian talent Barrientos in 2012 via the always on point synthglasgow.com blog. His debut mix for them effortly mixed tracks from Atjazz and Matthew Styles to Loco Dice, Vince Watson and Steve Rschmad and took the listener from the early bounce as the club doors open right through to hands-in-the-air madness of a packed dancefloor. We loved it. He alsoreleased the good-time, sun-soaked Sky EP (for free via Soundcloud) around the same time and the quality of both his music and production really stood out from the crowd.

Since then he has delivered 3 remixes for Glasgow Underground (Romanthony, Walker & Royce & Visitor) gaining support from a wide range of DJs such as Junior Sanchez, Mark E, Sasse, Sean Brosnan, Grum, Russ Chimes, Coyu and Severino.

"Feel The Waves" is his first full single release. And what a killer bunch of tracks he's delivered. If you want a floor-filler there's the heavyweight garage bounce of "And Uh" and the classic M1 organ house of "On My Mind". If you're looking for something deep and vocal the blissed out summertime beats of "Feel The Waves" defintely make you feel like you should be beachside at sunset with a beer in your hand. And if you need something to bring everything back down again, look no further than "Los Suenos", a solid, slow-burning Latin groove that sounds like Mark E remixing Gui Borrato and "Eventide" - the best ambient song we've heard in years.

We've been a fan of Motor City Drum Ensemble since the brooding and eerie "Escape To Nowhere" in 2007 - a track that sounded like someone had listened to "French Kiss" on acid and then tried to recreate what they heard. So when we started re-issuing Romanthony's classics with fresh remixes, MCDE's Danilo Plessow was always someone we wanted to on the project. It has taken 2 years to organise this mix and now it is finally here it doesn't disappoint. Taking on "Trust", most people would head straight for the vocal but Plessow instead eschews that idea for a warm, low slung dub mix reminiscent of Muzique Tropique and early Glasgow Underground releases by Studio Blue.

There aren't make producers that manage to combine forward-thinking production and interesting musical concepts with a reputation for igniting even the coldest of dancefloors. Audiojack are one of those rare breed of producers that can do just that. Before this release the most DJ-friendly version of this song was Roman's 1995 kick-heavy vocal-loopy "Ghost Mix". Here Audiojack deliver the kind of rhythm-driven, detroit-influenced house workout that should usurp the "Ghost Mix" as the go-too choice for maximum dance-floor love.

When Kevin McKay and Freeform Five's Anu Pillai got together to remix "Weltareh", Freeform Five's single on Eskimo earlier this year they got talking about Romanthony. McKay was planning on remixing the single but hadn't started on the project yet so invited Pillai to join in. Over the years Pillai had collected an amazing array of unusual analogue synths and vintage outboard gear. This allowed him and McKay to take "Trust", soak it in acid goodness and deliver a near-on 13 minute epic mix that provides both dub and vocal versions in one. Great one for the toilet break.

West Norwood Cassette Library, AKA Bob Bhamra, has been digging through the vaults of his extensive production library, serving up this delightful double pack of gems and nuggets. Some of these tracks have been buried deep for a few years, others have been 'dubplate only' for a while, so you're definitely opening up a Pandora's box of delights here.

'Acid Jazz' cuts and chops the classic breaks and samples with some frenzied acid action, whilst '(We Have To Live) In The Future' holds a dusty and raw disco house vibe. Elsewhere on the double pack, 'Innervisions' slams down a solid Todd Terry-esque breaksbeat pattern, peppered with all the hallmarks of the classic London garage sound. 'Roots' plunders the WNCL influences, a hybrid track that fuses electro and drum & bass with ease, whilst 'Body Rock' and 'Time Loops' showcases his love of jazz and funk, always cutting and chopping but with a contemporary presentation on the music.

Been a long time since we've heard anything out of Miami like this! Producer Greg Beato follows up his blazing ep for Funkineven's Apron Records with another killer three tracker....serious shit, 100% TIP!
Beato somehow just knows how to get it right combining all the crucial electronic elements, creating three absolutely monsterous tracks that will crush the dancefloor. Sure it's been said before, but the music does the talking and this ep is a pure unharnessed example of such. Guaranteed to be in every djs bag this summer. Our favourite Swedish house duo is back...more dirty than ever!

The follow-up to the previous EPs Moody & Trapped is nothing short of brilliant.

Waisted with it's plucked strings is classic deep house held together by a bumpy groove, soulful vocals & slick keyboard but still maintaining the formula that defines Dirtytwo and their finest work to date.

Talking 2 U is where Dirtytwo gets deep down and gritty. Chunky house chords, a meaty bassline, cut-up voice samples in full basement effect.
Flip over for the Hard On Edit of Talking 2 U which goes one step further adding some acid lines and a raw basement feeling.

Tsuba regular Hector returns for his third full EP including a big remix of last year's smash 'Hide' from Delano Smith.

Incite' originally appeared on a 7' single entitled, 'Thoughts From Chicago Vol. Three,' released by Eargasmic Recordings back in 2010. After receiving feedback from music fans all over the world; including Dubbyman of Deep Explorer Music, 'why is this track released on 7' vinyl' was the consensus.

Dubbyman even asked if he could release it on Deep
Explorer! We originally said yes, but after thinking it over, we decided to keep it home with
Emphasis Recordings. Since the track appeared on Eargasmic, we decided to rearrange the
arrangement of 'Incite,' hence the Another Mix title. And much to the chagrin of Dubbyman
not being able to release this record, we decided that he can at least do a remix; and he
delivers a disco/tech mix with slow grooving Latin percussions and female vocal skat!
Rounding the single is 'Slight,' a mid tempo goover with its subtle growling bassline and modulating synth lead!

The Ghetto Slang" is the LOD records' first EP. Produced by Jann, French guy from Bordeaux, first release in his career. He tried to transcribe what Chicago and acid house mean for him. Tracks are produced in his studio in Saint Medard en Jalles in the suburbs of Bordeaux. He's used analog drum machines, effects and synthesizers like Miami, Juno 106 and Xoxbox. Collaborating with another french producer called Theorama, he decided to produce a powerful acid techno track, perfect for the dancefloor, that track, named "Die Tomorrow", was chosen by Ricardo Miranda to be remixed. The Chicago house veteran realized his remix adding a touch of class and deep feelings to the song, a real pearl of the EP. Energy, groove, deep pad and pure old school attitude are the elements of this first LOD Records' release.

Polytone Recordings first mini-jubilee is due, and congratulations coming in directly from Detroit and Berlin! First felicitator is Terrence Dixon of Tresor fame His track "Pacers" is an intriguing 10-minute-journey. On the flip we find "Spirals", a stirring track from Iron Curtis. After his remix for Matthias Vogt's "Together As One" (PLTR004) the Berlin based producer delivers his irst original for Polytone.

Awesome 5 track 12" on the neo-Chicago tip, comes with contributions by the likes of Jack Curtu, Elec Pt. 1, Punknown, Perseus Traxx and Lost in the Sound. Limited to 300 only. Tip!

To mark the occasion of Delsin hitting 100 releases, the label is to release five new various artist EPs throughout the rest of the year.
Besides a special collector's box edition, all EPs will be offered separately, with limited edition colour runs and unlimited black copies. All fifteen tracks will also be compiled onto one CD. Label mates Convextion, Sawlin and Ross 154 (aka Newworldaquarium) contribute one tack each for the third EP in the series.

Heavy techno dude Sawlin offers up just that: stiff rhythms of industrial percussion, grainy lo-fi pads and plenty of fuzzy textures are all on display in his seriously heady jam 'Zeitstempel'. Next up is Convextion with his breezy, summery jam 'Verna'. With a squelchy and snaking bassline and subtly uplifting pads, it twists and turns as it drives forward, and so will you.

Finally for this installment, 'Moon FM Desire' (first released on 15dsr CD) is a serene and slo-mo trip by Ross 154 with tumbling drums and thin, heavenly pads. A piece of music full of pain and lovelorn drama by the man also known as Newworldaquarium.

If there's one thing in this world that's certain, it's that things change.
And in the life of one dance producer with a new release on Sheffield's Shabby Doll, there have been transitions aplenty.
With a switch from garage to house, a move from Doncaster to London, and a change of identity from Ryan Aitchison to Mella Dee, his spacious four- to-the-floor sound has emerged from a state of constant flux. And yet... the more things change, the more they stay the same. 'Things Don't Change' is the name of Mella Dee's new Shabby Doll EP, and when you tune into the title track's compulsive twitch, you can hear the echo of his South Yorkshire antecedents coming through.

Could that be something like an early Warp drum rattle A Sweet Exorcist groove Maybe, maybe not.
But the influence seems even stronger on the EP's second tune, 'Ripe Traxx', with its hollow bass and four-note steel drum-like refrain.

Mella Dee has deejayed on some of the biggest stages, including Fabric, Sub Club and Tramlines, and has released on the likes of Forefront, Coyote and Sccucci Manucci, so although his other life as one half of UK garage duo Mistamen is never far away - in the crisp scattering of the high-hats, and the bass's heavy growl - the 'Things Don't Change' tracks form a house quartet that's both fresh and familiar all at the same time.

With remixes from James Welsh (who has recorded for Wall of Sound and Wolf Music) and Sheffield's Oushe (who previously remixed fellow Shabby Doll artists Gosoul), 'Things Don't Change' is a dose of c'est la vie for the soul - a reminder that while Mella Dee may be moving onwards and upwards, great house music is just great house music.
No change there.

Brighton's Delayed Audio is back, after a summer hiatus, with another superb various artists EP, yet again showing the label's unique take on house music, and its ability to hand-pick tracks which mould perfectly together.

Here we see original tracks from No Matter What label boss, James Johnston, UK based collective, Latona, plus Espada and DJ Rocca to round off what is an exceptional package. This is undoubtedly another statement of the label's intent to consistently deliver grade A house music.

Dublin based duo, Dave Hargadon & Phil Long aka Slowburn make their debut on Lunar Disko Records with four machine-driven house and techno jams.

The two brothers of GEBRÜDER TEICHMANN have been regular guests at the early KILLEKILL events. That's because they have a very similar approach to electronic music as we do. With many Chicago greats, Johnny is One of the inventors of The Deep House Sound through his own blend of future funk & spoken word. In 1990, he released his first underground hit single 'Reasons To Be Dismal' on Nu Groove/SBK Records. A few years later, Johnny dropped the atomic bomb 'Problem 13 (I Beat That *itch With A Bat)' in 1993 and orbited into the Dance Music Hall of Fame. Since then, the name carries great respect in the underground throughout the entire world. When Johnny's striking voice appeared on his release 'Moonraker', he set a new standard for DJs around the world.

Following Todd Terje's incredible 2012 remix of Roxy Music's 'Love Is The Drug', Bryan Ferry has recruited some of the best producers in the world to remix his 1985 hit 'Don't Stop The Dance'.

Now released by The Vinyl Factory as a series of three super-deluxe limited editions of only 1000 copies each - with bespoke screen printed thick card sleeves housing 180-gram records mastered for vinyl by Noel Summerville at 3345 Mastering and crafted on the EMI 1400 in Hayes, Middlesex.

The track was originally the third single from the number one album Boys & Girls, and featured long-serving guest musicians Nile Rodgers, Marcus Miller, Omar Hakim, Andy Newmark and David Sanborn.

"The recording was done in various studios in London, New York and Nassau, and the whole process took about two years," recalls Bryan Ferry. "I wrote 'Don't Stop The Dance' together with my co-producer and engineer Rhett Davies, and I remember the track originating in some sessions we did at my home studio in England. We finally mixed the record with Bob Clearmountain at The Power Station studios in New York."

Isaac Ferry hand-picked the producers to Re/Make - Re/Model 'Don't Stop The Dance' in various guises, re-enlisting previous collaborators Todd Terje, Eric Duncan and Greg Wilson, alongside Idjut Boys, Sleazy Mcqueen, Space Coast, Punks Jump Up, and two versions from both Psychemagick and Grasshopper aka in-house keyboard programmer Liam Duggan.

"After the successful release of 'Olympia Remixes', we decided that my song 'Don't Stop The Dance' should really be revisited by a new generation of DJs," says Bryan Ferry.

"Since my first solo album in 1973 I've always tried to reinterpret other people's songs in my own way. So it has been good to hear 'Don't Stop Dance' in so many different incarnations. It's fascinating to see how some of the remixes focus on certain aspects of the song, and some on another...they all take the track to a variety of interesting places."

We admit that we took a lenghty summer break, but Curle is back in full force this fall with new stuff from Lucy, Jonas Kopp, Albert Van Abbe and more to be announced soon. And Frank Martiniq of course. He is someone we've been keeping an eye on since his 'Adriano' record in 2002. More recently we enjoyed his releases on Stroboscopic Artefacts and Rotary Cocktail. Amost two years ago he made his Curle debut with 'Golden Dusk', which got remixed by Scott Grooves later on. The three tracks on the new 'Insomniac' EP could be classified as deep techno, but with enough power, groove and melody to set afire a dancefloor. Enjoy!

Ivano Tetelepta returns to duty on FOF after his well received 'True Colours' LP with a veritable potpourri of tracks in collaboration with various cohorts. First up Ivano's collaboration with Steve Siwalette twists and turns with a steppas' beat whilst melodic licks build the track up to it's anthemic break. 'Give Me Something So I Can Dance' w/Alex Jansen roughs things up with a low-slung dirty groove whist Ben Buiendijk injects an acidic flavour into his collaboration before Ivano & Bas Amro delve deeper with the sweetly melancholic tones of 'Manolia'.

Perseus Traxx is no stranger to the legion of underground warriors who place quality above quantity, having released on Bunker, M/O/S, Photic Fields, BOE Recordings, BoomChik, Chiwax, Sequencias, and Future Flash to name a few, as well as being one half of Nite Vision with the man behind Mantra/Myriadd.
The Muses are the nine Goddesses who promote literature, science and the arts; the personifications of inspiration. Though only named and assigned characteristics as recently as the Roman era, they were revered by the ancient Greeks, who documented that them as having been recruited by the Egyptian God Osiris as he passed through Ethiopia prior to embarking on a tour of Asia and Europe to teach the arts of cultivation to mankind. Itís with this in mind that Perseus Traxx, makes his first release on Newcastleís Flight Recorder label, delivering an ode to four of them directly rather than the forms they have inhabited while they visit him. Bubbling and cutting, heavy synths and dusty tones are jammed out live to tape, ranging from the playful to the stark as they characterise the appropriately named tracks. An ordered tangle of wires and patching in a unique set of acid-free sonic experiments, that sometimes feel as cold and edgy, as they do warm and carefree.

DDSR005 comes from the New York City based newcomer Edgar M. A house producer by trade, this is Edgar M's debut release but it doesn't show, demonstrating an ear for sound aesthetics and dynamics that immediately caught the attention of Deep Down Slam. His track "Oscillate" is a little masterpiece, rich with musicality and vintage sounding production techniques that are reminiscent of early Strictly Rhythm. This EP sounds just like it came straight out of 1991 and was entirely produced on vintage hardware/analog based equipment. To complement this release we have Zurich based house producer Donato Capozzi on the remix duties who delivers a great dub version of "That Strut". This is a release for the lovers and vintage sounding house diggers out there, NY touch guaranteed!

The Murph has not been shy about sharing his vision with the world, & here he brings some classic home grown Chicago flavor.

French producer Kool Vibe returns with a third offering on his self titled label, continuing to mine that sound classically rooted in the early 90s East Coast swing of New York and New Jersey. Vibes abound on "U Got Me" with the titular vocal hook leading an orchestra of bouncing percussive rhythms, spritely neon dipped keys and an infectious bassline thump, whilst "House Music" shows Kool Vibe dipping into the sounds of vintage Murk productions with equal aplomb.

100 YEARS is a new label and venue set up by esteemed Sheffield promoter, producer and studio engineer Liam O'Shea - the fist release features two tracks by him as LoShea
'To commemorate this Sheffield invention, which has to be Sheffield's most widespread and successful international export, I have set up a new record label to release the finest techno music I can from around the world' beams LoShea himself. 'Techno is the sonic manifestation of industry in my eyes... not only in its sound and the places it is played, but in its enduring quality. It's hard and resistant to the ebbs and flows of scene changes and fashion, it will always be with us, it's primal and rooted in industrialisation... from Detroit to Berlin to Sheffield.'

As for the first release, it couldn't be more Sheffield or more techno, frankly. Lo Shea took himself into the heart of Forgemasters Sheffield - a huge steelworks - and made field recordings that he then took away and turned into two powerful tracks that evoke the feeling of their environment - sweaty men in overalls lugging lumps of steel into blast furnaces, rumbling cranes, tumbling 100 tonne pipes and a generally oil stained air of coal fuelled industry. 'Steel City' starts of with the hum and throng of huge machines and blasts of hot air bursting through. Then come the pummelling, over sized kicks and ticking, jostling percussive sprinkles to form a wiggling but heavyweight groove straight from the heart of a smoggy factory.

Flipside 'Prang' is just as stern and all consuming, with juddery snares and metallic hits peppering a monstrous bottom end. Throughout its course, the track breaks to grimy found sounds and field recordings before kicking with a renewed energy once again. Both tracks are hugely evocative, stuffed with industrial imagery yet speak to Sheffield's long love of abstract electronica. In another interesting historical tie up, artwork for the label is by The Designers Republic, the same company who worked on the early art for another of Sheffield's most famous and finest sons, Warp Records.

To celebrate all this there will be a launch party at Hope Works on 20th April featuring NonPlus boss Boddika and precision technoist Trevino, as well as Lo Shea himself and local legend Chris Duckenfield. This happens to be National Record Shop day, a fitting coincidence given that Hope Works will be a vinyl only label. The venue itself will double as an art space and rave centre akin to Manchester's Warehouse Project or Bristol's In: Motion. It's a former WWI gun barrel factory, part of the same industrial area in which Harry Brearley was working, so comes drenched in history. Its raw open spaces and looming industrial atmospheres make it the perfect place for people to enjoy techno in its native environment.

Hot Creations hit us with another monster of a release this time from Tom Dinsdale (ex-Audio Bully's) under his new project Minéo. Title track 'Turn Out The Lights' is an intoxicatingly deep groover with a dense low riding bassline, punchy warm chords and an infectious dark male vocal adding a real standout element for the dancefloor. Over on the B-side label head Jamie Jones is on remix duty to deliver one of his best, picking up the pace and turning it into a deep and powerful techy monster, twisted and dark, perfect for the later hours. On a more uplifting tip, the second track from Minéo 'Off The Handle' again carries that distinct UK sound. Bass heavy with perfect underlying swing the track twists and turns through different percussion patterns with captivating distorted vocals riding through the many layers.

Tom Dinsdale aka Minéo has been buried away in the studio for the past eighteen months working on music for his new solo project. Sending the tracks to Jamie Jones and Lee Foss as demos, they were soon snapped up and have become a staple part in both of their sets, smashing dancefloors worldwide from Ibiza to Burning Man festival.

Busier than ever with his hectic schedule, Jamie Jones has been touring as a solo artist but also along with Lee Foss, Ali Love and Luca C as their Hot Natured band, headlining their own events at the likes of Brixton Academy and festivals including Sonar and Glastonbury. Along with this Jamie has been running his Paradise night at DC10 in Ibiza for it's second year with huge line ups featuring big names like Richie Hawtin and Loco Dice but also the new artists Jamie is pushing such as wAFF and Patrick Topping. Finding the time somehow, Jamie has also been hard at work in the studio producing music with the Hot Natured crew with a recent debut album release and also doing a number of remixes for his three record labels.

For the next release on One Records we see a welcomed collaboration from label head Subb-an and Ibiza resident Tuccillo. Together they bring you the exceptional 'Day Motion', a tight rolling and intricate groover with balearic ambience, clearly showcasing both producers talent and style. On the flip side One Records are proud to welcome the legendary french producer Point G who delivers a heavy duty remix like only he can. With a pounding bass the track progresses gritty and dense, never dropping with an array of vocal haunts, melodic keys and carnivalesque FX, swelling and falling throughout. Distinctively different, the original and remix make the perfect soundtracks for the summer dance floor, each for a different moment in time.

With both Subb-an and Tuccillo being fans of each others music it was a natural force that brought them together in the studio. Top class DJ, producer and live artist, Subb-an is really staring to see the benefits of his many years of hard work. Although still young he's released on an impressive selection of labels including Spectral Sound, Visionquest, Crosstown Rebels, Culprit and Tsuba whilst playing at all of the reputable clubs and parties such as DC10, fabric, Womb and Panorama Bar. This year also saw him travel the globe as Damian Lazarus' right hand man in the '10 Years Of Crosstown World Tour' and with an album on the way we are sure to see his career only moving upwards.

Born Italian, Tuccillo now resides in Ibiza where he spends most of his time in the studio, which is where he teamed up with Subb-an for this special collaboration. With his notably distinctive style he has released on labels such as 2020 Vision, Holic Trax, Drumpoet, Rebirth and Freerange. Already working on a part 2 to this release, and with plans for him to play at One Record parties in the future, its safe to say he's now a staple part of the crew.

Recently making a powerful comeback, Point G aka DJ Gregory has been taking things by storm with an EP on Real Tone and a rerelease of the epic 'Underwater' on Apollonia. Starting his own Point G Recordings he has also delivered two sell out releases that are strictly vinyl only limited pressings both making it to number one on decks.de. Washerman's last 12" was an overwhelming club hit, prompt sold out while nowadays vinyl copies fetching more than 30 Euros. Also this 12" went into the top 100 deep house charts of the year 2012 at Traxsource, Beatport and Juno. Now there's a brand new Washerman 2-tracker which might be exceed the success of its predecessor. The "Raw Poet EP" is a first preview of Washerman's upcoming long-awaited full length album.

Washerman is a story at its best. The humble Gianni Siravo has been around since many years under different names. He released his first records in 1998 as Sequel on labels like Straight Ahead and Sonar Kollektiv. In 2008 he introduced us to his Azuni project and released the album "City Look" on Agnès' label STHLM Audio as well as 12"s on Morris Audio, Quinessentials and Drumpoet. In 2012 he decided to release his music as Washerman. His first single for DPC became one of the most played records that summer/autumn and gained him a big reputation, followed up by countless remixes and releases on labels like Nite Grooves, Saft and Deso. He also started his own label Deep Down Slam, where he is championing music which is inspired by the early house groove of New York and Chicago. The Drumpoet Community people were simply blown away when they heard the album first. It's simply underground dance music in its purest way and straight to the point.

KIWI's 'Llama' is a much more straight up offering
than the label's first 12', the epic "Heal" from label
head Congreave (which received support from
Radio 1 DJs Annie Mac, Heidi and Rob da Bank, as
well as widespread club and blog recognition). The
EP's title track, a classic slice of italo-house, was a
staple in Savidge's Australian tour at the turn of the
year - and seeing first-hand the overwhelming
reactions it received from small basement clubs to
festival main stages made it a no-brainer for him to
snap up for the label.
KIWI, meanwhile, has continued to win admirers as
established as Erol Alkan and Andrew Weatherall
(who both included his music in their recent BBC 6
Mixes), with further support coming from the likes of
Ewan Pearson and Daniel Avery. All this has
cemented itself with a booking at London's
prestigious Field Day festival, despite still having
released no original material to date.
'Llama....

Fresh off their recent single on Avotre, the California duo of Yooj and Steve Huerta return in fine form, this time with their Retrofit debut. The pair's creative partnership began back during their final year of university where they discovered a shared affinity for a sound quite divergent from the preferences of their 'EDM' addled peers.

'Take Your Time' opens the EP with myriad distinct influences. Thick progressing stabs, stuttering bass, and a plaintiff female voice make this a perfect peaktime track for the summer. 'Love Me Right' goes for a more heads down, late night approach with a deep rhodes line, guitar licks popping in and out, and a thick, chugging groove that rarely relents.

Best known for their work on labels like 2020vision and Exploited, the Amsterdam duo Homework lend their expert ears to the title track, spreading the original's chords out far and wide, surrounding it with several new melodic elements and a jacking Chicago groove - a combination that will find itself in many a set over the following months. To round things off, 'I Said' alternates boisterous upbeat moments alongside a moody, insistent groove.

With Local Talk release no. 30 we're moving further into territories of straight up no fuss dance floor action.
Already having releases on Dirt Crew Recordings, murmur & Hypercolour Elef knows a thing or two about delivering jacking tracks.
Wake Up Call comes in two versions. The original version is a kick & snare pattern driven monster track with heavy arpeggios and deep pads.
On the flip Brennan Green doesn't hold back either. The main melodic pattern together with percussions is unleashed straight on and as the tracks evolves he adds TR-303 lines making the track even more epic. As Elef described the remix 'perfect for a Panorama Bar set'. The remix is worthy enough based on that one side alone.

Little is known about mysterious producer Tommy Rawson.

Our first acquaintance was the aptly named 'Shy Track' on Red Rack'em's Smugglers Inn 001 release. We tried to find out more but the trail got cold pretty quick. It was not until hearing Gilles Peterson playing a version of Hugh Masekela's 'Don't Go Lose It baby' on his show that word got around, Tommy Rawson was back.

This particular anthemic track found it's way to Mats who then started playing it out and every time, in every club no matter where in the world the reaction was same, people completely lost it on the dance floor!
We had but no choice to release the track and luckily enought Tommy must have a sixth sense because at the same time Mats blasted the track at the Local Talk office to convince Tooli shouting 'this is the next big release for Local Talk, I'm telling you!!' another track made it into his mailbox, the soulful house jam Brenda Done Died With No Name. Both tracks ended up on this 12' of course.

Mr Rawson has delivered the goods here, warm, sunsplashed music all the way. A name to watch for this year and probably not mysterious for long.

After launching with the excellent Systems of Desire collaboration between Kowton and Hyetal, Happy Skull expand their remit with the introduction of a new artist. Describing himself as a "Caped conductor of a rusty, disobedient mechanical orchestra," little is known about London based producer Adjowa but his two original productions here hint that he won't remain unknown for long. Accompanying Adjowa's original heat is a remix from premier Eglo artist Funkineven!

NYC denizen arrives fresh off a stunning, singular album for L.I.E.S to deliver 3 tracks showcasing his swift growth as a producer. Widescreen techno, stern, cracking percussion , & feel good house all figure in.

Hirofumi Goto AKA Rondenion made his debut releases on Still Music back in 2005. Shortly after, he released a streak of Detroit infused House 12 on Rushhour, Aesthetic Audio and more to great critical acclaim.


A DJ and producer born in Japan. He began working as a recording artist in the late 90s under the name Hirofumi Goto, and released his global debut, 'Ameria EP'. It drew attention for its dark beats, unusual for a Japanese artist, and was played by top DJs like Derrik May. He changed his name to RONDENION to show respect to Chicago and Detroit, and began working on an overseas release. Ultimately, his 'Love Bound EP' was released by major labels such as 'Rush Hour' and became a big hit. It reached the top on the RushHourStore sales chart, and became popular in Europe. In 2012 he formed 'Ragrange Symphony' with his old friends NO MILK and KEZ YM, and he is currently working on a number of projects for his own record label, 'Ragrange Records'.


After being approached by Roundabout Sounds for a remix, discussions shortly after were directed towards a plan for releasing Rondenion's
debut album on both vinyl (Roundabout Sounds) and Digital (Plug Research). The result is the Luster Grand Hotel debut album, ready to drop in September 2013.


Luster Grand Hotel is the most accomplished project from Rondenion, an absolute blend of Detroit and Chicago house, reminiscent of the music from Moodymann, Theo Parrish and Rick Wilhite. A must have for any real house music fans.

Tin Man has been creating a stir on dance floors worldwide for many years with his unique vision of acid, techno and house.
In recent times he has opened his production toolbox to a wider variety of styles, also focusing on songwriting, often adding vocals.

This new release - the Underdog EP Part 2 - features three floor shaking techno cuts in different shapes.
On the A Side the aptly titled 'Swarm' features an epic minimal acid tune building over 10 minutes driven by twirling soundscapes resembling a swarm of killerbees on attack.
Flipping over there is 'Hack', which bows towards Soundhack with its dirty funked up sample chords and cut up groove.
The EP finishes off with 'Rocky', a masterpiece in reduction - hypnotic and deep techno.

For almost a decade now, Lovemonk has been releasing classy music and this new 12" is no exception. Damian Schwartz - who has previously released on the likes of Oslo, Apnea, Bass Culture and Hypercolour as well as running his own A Harmless Deed imprint featuring producers like Marcos Cabral and DJ F - presents a new two track EP that continues in that good tradition.
'Inwards' is a fullsome, rich and rounded house cut built on rambunctious basslines, dramatic percussive splashes and plenty of rhythm ingenuity. Blotches of melodic colour the rubbery bassline throughout and the whole thing is set alight by a neo-soulful diva vocal from Odille Lima that enriches the track no-end.

After the recent success of their expansive debut full length on Idle Hands and while they bask in the glory of their recently well received Resident Advisor podcast, Jacob Hodge and Matt Lambert push on with a new EP on Bristol's Futureboogie. To date Outboxx have fomented their own ebullient house style that is imbued with a keen sense of uplifting melody, plenty of analogue dust and some heavyweight bass, largely on Bristol based labels, and this new EP sees them continue in that fine form.
The EP kicks off with 'The Fade', a lively deep house cut with sandy hi hats and harmonic melody hits that surfs and skips with a subtle but sensuous energy. Growing increasingly garage in style as it rolls on, chopped up vocal patches add more oomph before 'Rikkies Groove' gets nimble within its authentically aged house framework. Serene and golden pads twist and turn behind frazzled melody stabs and twinkly colours add that late night feel Outboxx are such masters at evoking.
'Letting Go' is more in line with the downbeat trip-hop that made up the latter half of their debut: the glowing vocals of regular collaborator Naomi drift between loose drum hits, scattered beats and genuinely jazzy melody motifs. The results are inescapably dreamy and delightful.
Finally, 'Need You' is a cavernous construct of echoing claps and buried deep kicks that swells and subsides, implodes and explodes. The titles refrain is repeated over and over and bleeds seamlessly into the arrangements between big string sweeps, noodling horns and classic cymbal splashes.

Once again Outboxx prove that feel-good house music needn't be lowest common denominator or weak-ass house but that it instead can be as richly musical and artistic as any avant-movements.

Jamal Moss continues to channel the energy of the sun w/2 tough tunes that channel beats, melodies, & rhythms out that are typically celestial in nature. Sometimes harsh but always soulful & raw. That's how we like it over here.

Cassy Britton's status as a DJ is hard to rival: she currently holds residencies at four top clubs—Panorama Bar, Trouw, Rex Club and Output—and used to work behind the counter at famed Berlin record shop Hard Wax. "The tracks on the mix all represent what I love about electronic music, and what I love playing," she says. "Simply, each track is individually beautiful-there is not much more to add." Her 17-track effort includes tracks from Norm Talley, John Talabot, Basic Soul Unit, Emptyset and Marco Zenker among others.

fabric 71 will be Cassy's fourth commercially released mix, following 2006's Panorama Bar 01 and two subsequent efforts for Cocoon. She adds: "The project has come at a perfect time for me in terms of me being able to communicate where I am at artistically. I have aimed to get back to the roots of what this should be about for every DJ—namely playing records for the love of playing records—and not because of anything else."

Fellow Steel City heavy-hitter and exciting new talent Squarehead handles the remix, turning in a rough and ready club workout that really hits home.

Released earlier this summer Rachel Row's beautiful single created a storm both on the White Isle and across the world, and this superb set of remixes look set to further elevate it to anthemic status. First up are Belgium duo FCL with their 'Gentil Mix'. Being a lover of prominent vocals in their own productions (see 'More Than Seven and the massive 'It's You' for further details) it's not surprising to see FCL really focus on Rachel Row's voice, with a square, bassy hook breaking up ambient synths and Row's silky vocals with mesmerising results. Next up is Breach, following on from the massive success of his own 'Jack' record. His effort is a killer production which contains deep and seductive garage vibes which merge together beautifully. Almost unrecognizable from the original, Breach Hood Remix is the Mr Hyde to Rachel Row's Dr Jekyll; transformed from a blissful summer anthem to a bassy dance floor monster. The original record's producer KiNK also returns to bring us his 'Bass & Beats Mix', a version which does exactly what it says on the tin by featuring prominent percussive elements that move towards a growing drop that is dominated by both bass and snare.

Wonderful release by Kyle Hall on his new Detroit based label Wild Oats. Masterpiece 4 track EP, each track divine and Unique in its own way. Hot jazzy Kyle Hall fashioned deephouse that can serve a lounge and at the same time bang even harder on a dancefloor. Kyle Hall's Experimentalist off beat Antics meets smooth Jazz would be a way to describe the sound. Poly rhythms everywhere but at the same time a cohesive groovy soulful feel. Overall this EP is a Must Buy for anyone who is for the future of the electronic music genre and enjoys quality.

Warehouse Find!

Time to welcome Soul 223 to the label with his debut Delusions EP entitled Fear Of Stopping. Something of a complete legend in our eyes and ears, Steve Pickton has been releasing top drawer tuneage for over two decades both as Stasis on influential labels such as B12 and Peacefrog and more recently as Soul 223 on equally well regarded imprints like Delsin, Soul Jazz and Neroli. Always one to shy away from any limelight or self promotion it's true to say that this underrated British producer remains something of an anomaly, staying true to his underground roots where faceless, shadowy and obscure reigns supreme over the latest over-exposed cover star. This ethos naturally carries through into his music where you will always find both expansive beauty and unrefined rawness in equal measures ensuring his tracks always sound fresh rather than over produced or contrived.

Fear Of Stopping opens the EP with a low-slung disco groove providing the backbone for intermittent pad washes and reversing stabs. The focus here is firmly on the drums and simple conga riff with thankfully very little else to deter you from this sublime slice of abstract dance music.

Next up we have a remix from another ridiculously talented producer who chooses quality over quantity, having only ever had one release under his own name, albeit for one of the most respected labels in the world; Rush Hour. Maxi Mill came to our attention having released one of the tracks of 2011 namely To The Next. On this, his first ever solo remix he brings a brilliant bump to the EP with a raw, warehousey and bass-heavy workout. Just the right amount of strings and pads keep the deep vibe intact but the filtering bass and jacking drums definitely take this one to the floor.

Flipping over we have Walberswick in it's Hoist Covert Mix incarnation. Almost thirteen minutes of spaced out, deep Detroit house music awaits you, ready to lure you in and cocoon you with it's warm and hypnotizing machine funk. Lovely to hear the old Stasis influence working it's way into this one sounding both decidedly old-school and completely futuristic and otherworldly as only the best tracks ever do.

Closing the EP we have Birdbrook Rain dropping the BPM's for a beautifully sparse track that brings with it an almost desolate and disconnected feeling, echoing synths providing a naive melody while a dusty pad shifts simply beneath. A little slice of magic concluding a fresh and interesting EP, we hope you agree.

Chicago's Beau Wanzer known for his work with Mutant Beat Dance and Streetwalker makes his debut on L.I.E.S. with his first solo ep..absolute killer!
Wanzer who has been involved in the underbelly of American electronic music for many years, cut his teeth working at Magas' now defunct Weekend Records and Soap. Through that time Wanzer constantly worked on music amassing a sizable studio where he worked in various electronic strains creating an impressive body of work. These tracks come from different points of his career and are stripped down functional pieces made for the dj even if that was not their initial intention.

D.J. Maaco is back at it again by keeping D.I.E. on the MAP! With long over due favorites such as Dutch Friends and Move Yo Body, this will be a 12 inch you don't want to miss. Listen as he drops the bass in Break It Down and bring the funk Like No Other.

Plan B Recordings' Lola aka Dakini9 returns with another 10' in her series of favorite formats. Fans of her work will enjoy these two deep tracks with an outer- planetary vibe. 'Kuiper Belt' pumps along with synths and sounds appearing at random like asteroids in space while 'Plutonian Moon' plumbs the depths of inner and outer space with deep basslines, samples, and chords.

Canadian producer Kevin McPhee made his Idle Hands debut back in 2011 with 'Sleep' and 'House 44'
Over a year on, he returns to the label with two floor friendly, house leaning cuts.
A- side 'Unwind' takes the bumping bottom end and swung drums of early Sneak and pairs it with punchy horn stabs and an
infectious vocal hook.
B-side, A-Jam is slightly more subdued but equally as jacking with McPhee's trademark loose percussion providing the foundation
for lush Uk house pads and a heavyweight bassline.

Brasstronaut, a band 6 piece from Vancouver, caught the ear of Tom Millionhands when he came across their track on Feel My Bicep some two years ago. Opportunity channels the loose discoid funk of ESG & Hercules & Love Affair.

Jacques Renault needs little introduction. His Let's Play House imprint is riding high on the house wave. His remix hisses and crackles with tension.
