Ever since hearing Pete Tong announce 'Chica Wappa' as his Essential New Tune back in 2004, we've been following the bold Alex Smoke on his musical journey.

Coming from Glasgow, we've shared a lot of common influences - both from within and outside of the city and we have Alex to thank for introducing and strengthening our love for the likes of Villalobos, Rhythm & Sound, Carl Craig and Actress, amongst others. Although he was a familiar face on the 'minimal' scene, he always operated on his own terms and that's a throughline we've admired throughout his career. Not only is he comfortable releasing techno on Soma and R&S, he's produced for ballet, films and even the NHS.

Over the years, Alex has played at a few seminal parties for us; alongside the likes of Oni Ayhun, James Holden, Helena Hauff and Veronica Vasicka. So we were delighted to be approached by him to work on a record together and it's been really exciting to hear it evolve over time. It would be arrogant to compare it to Thom Yorke's - The Eraser, but it certainly occupies a similar world in our mind. To still be producing innovative and inspiring albums 15 years into a career is no mean feat in this age and it's a great honour to welcome such a musical hero on to the label.

As with the last Auntie Flo album, we're also lining up a very special remix package with a swarm of our favourite producers of the moment and we can't wait to share them with you too over the course of the year.

What an immense year it's been for Alex 'Kiwi' Warren. After a string of beguiling cuts on the likes of Futureboogie, Disco Halal and 17 Steps, he returns to Correspondant with a fittingly beautiful full label debut. The cosmic results speak for themselves... Four precision originals, one turbo charged remix: flavours and essences range from the rippled tubular arpeggio and Balearic pull of 'Condor' to the slo-mo struts and shimmering disco twinkles of 'Tifock' via the peppy Latino kick and harmonies of 'Vicuna'. Complete with a total euphoric meltdown from the ever consistent Rex The Dog in the form of his strident trance-tickled re-thump of 'Condor', this is undoubtedly Kiwi's biggest release to date... And it's perfect for the colder club-bound season ahead. Enjoy!

JMII makes serious music without the need to take himself too seriously. In 'Modulations', the Barcelona producer keeps building an increasingly solid and personal sound in his more accomplished collection of music to date. Five tracks that display a universe filled with inventive synth lines, smart production and quirky references to the "day to day of producing music and the strange world of those who like to read machine manuals and learn to program new synths". Take 'Synthesize',the EP's opening track, in which he samples every gearhead's favourite YouTube video. But far from relying on a gimmick, the track is a lesson in how to make trance the right way. 'Communication' emerged from the same studio sessions, but has a much deeper feel, blending ethereal chords and melodies with voices that seem to get lost in a black hole. 'Modulation' is probably the boldest track JMII has ever produced. Lead by a nasty bass line and punctuated by martial percussions and menacing strings, it's one of those in-between genres cuts that can cause havoc in any kind of dancefloor. 'Polydays' is another great example of JMII's approach to music: odd enough to avoid the cliche but not too overcomplicated to diminish its primal power. In other words, it's the kind of dance music we should always aim for. The 12" comes housed in a sleeve by Cologne-based designer Christian Schafer.

A few months in and TAU, the label helmed by Adana Twins, is in the groove. Launched in August 2018, the outlet has given the Hamburg duo a chance to flex their A&R muscles, curating releases that showcase more established artists alongside up and coming talents, while allowing them to fully explore their own tastes.
TAU004 shines a light on Amberoom, a German trio comprised Manuel Tur, Adrian Hoffmann and Ramin Nouyan. The three men produce wonderfully warm, soulful, nourishing compositions which have already court favour with the Innervisions crew - their killer track 'Kastell' released on the much-respected 'Secret Weapons 11' compilation, and Dixon added his own 'Retouch'. Veteran producer isolée steps up for remix duties on this one, too, making this an essential three-tracker.
The EP kicks off with 'Tulu' a stirring cut punctuated by a wistful male vocal complemented by a harmonious, yet sombre low end. Delicate twinkles and emotive strings add depth as the track tugs on your heartstrings. This is a lush, measured composition with excellent programming on its organic-sounding drums and a contemplative atmosphere throughout.
Next up is the title track, 'Jazire', which picks up the pace immediately. A contagious 4x4 beat forms the foundation of this rousing number, which builds steadily into a cacophony of tribal-esque effects; shakers reverberating next to mysterious sounds that echo in and out of the background.
A melancholy melody gives this track extra emotional density, while the tension builds and subsides intermittently and the beat keeps those hips moving.
Lastly, isolée's reinterpretation of the title track utilises a more traditional house motif, emphasising the shadowy atmospherics and injecting a more insistent beat. As the 4x4 rhythm pumps along, he adds clicks and skipping toms - pushing the energy levels up a notch. A dark, eerie tone pervades and isolée retains the sorrowful refrain from the original to complement his dour synth riff.

Earlier this summer Monaberry misters Super Flu sailed into the summer with their stately 'Ark'. Big and groovy enough to contain 200 of every animal, they eventually crashed it after a summer of their sweetest technoid soirees. Now safely back on dry land, the duo lure us back into the clubland winter months with two more provocative slices of dancefloor theatre.

'Selee' sets the scene with strong mystic twinges and twangs and a dynamic arrangement that peaks and troughs on its own momentum. Cathedral like in height and scope, rain forest like in its density and intensity, if this doesn't grab your dancefloor by the short and curlies, you're playing to the wrong crowd.

Speaking of wrongs, 'Bongbeat' is here to abstain you from any you feel you might have committed this summer. A strident piece of stompcraft laced with fluent acid sinews and a raw gutsy call to arms preach, if you don't feel cleansed after dropping this warehouse shattering jam then you need to consult a physician.

To celebrate the turn of the year, Cocoon Recordings presents us with the fifth edition of the Dots And Pearls anthology, which has been offering us an exclusive glimpse into Cocoon's treasure trove of demos at irregular i ntervals since 2011. Once again, the eight tracks on show represent a comprehensive snapshot of the current state of club music as 2018 fades into 2019, combining established stars of the scene with eye catching newcomers to create a harmonious overall package.

First up is Berlin production team youANDme, who have been an integral part of the capital's club life for over ten years as well as running the 'Rotary Cocktail' label. Their epic floor filler 'Claret Loss' kicks off the compilation with a refreshingly reduced yet deep Techhouse showpiece as the 'ear circus' begins. In fact that's the name of the next track by promising debutant Florian Hollerith. 'Ohrenzirkus' amazes with a bone-dry bass drum accompanied by an insect squadron and atonal orchestra horns. Little wonder that this bold homage with its sonic claim to immortality also takes pride of place on Sven Väth's 'Sound of the 19th Season". Geneva based, Cadenza producer Quenum then reels in the acoustic madness with the elegant, metallic percussion of 'Blue Mountain", while Croatian mastermind Petar Dundov takes the listener into a highly emotional state of weightlessness with the typically anthemic 'Pyroelectric". Next, Systematic label boss Marc Romboy scores with 'Sequential Error", a perpetually growing ball of energy that lights the way to the dance floor. An ode to a special place and time. Label-founder Dj Balduin is presenting 6 songs of dreamy ambient and house on his debut Mini-album.

The secret gem of Space Disco vibes, Ichisan will be releasing his new EP via Kanto Records. First track of the EP, Megla (The Fog) is some sort of an instrument showcase by the Slovenian producer, who used his analog synthesizers deftly to accompany the funk-house strumming of his bass and electric guitars, both played by the artist himself.

Veter (The Wind) is a five-minute-long journey into the depths of unique and captivating musical mind of Ichisan, daring to be simple yet invoking majestic feelings. Third and fourth track of the EP, Planica and Yassa are more dancefloor oriented tunes that beam with positivity and energy, both have the potential to become anthems of the summer and beyond.

Arranged, recorder and mixed in Ichisan's own studio in Ljubljana, the EP MEGLA is brimmed with phenomenal beats that would not disappoint even the pickiest ears.

2019 REISSUE ORIGINAL ART!! - Special Release for the Record Store Day 2014 this gets Reissued in 2019 now. Two of Permanent Vacation's all time classics bundled on a special 12' vinyl, consisting of Todd Terje's Remix of 'Balearic Incarnation' taken from the Dolle Jolle vinyl PERMVAC 026-1 which came out in 2008, and John Talabot's 'Matilda's Dream' taken from PERMVAC 058-1, which came out in 2010.

As the man behind some of the city's most progressive, inclusive and famously fizzy parties such as Dickslap, his selector and party host stripes precede him. His productions will do soon, too. Here's your proof... A debut 4 track behemoth entitled 'Empty Void' 2 originals, 2 remixes, Nark reveals his full spectrum right here: from the alien swamp creatures of 'Sunrise Climb' via the poisonous 303 of 'Acid Night Cap' and the zoning tubular hypnotiser 'Carl's K Hole', this is the sound of a man who doesn't just understand dancefloors through years of playing to them... But knows how to push them to the edge and bring them back from the brink, too. Naturally the remixes are equally forthright and boundary-blurring. Octo Octa has us all gliding with her precision percussive twist to 'Sunrise Climb'. Eva Geist's music has the power to open doors. Her enchanting sounds are always an invitation to explore the most concealed nooks of our own perception. Therefore, it's not surprising to learn that, for her, music is often a way to answer some of her mental question marks. In the case of 'Urban Monogamy', this questioning refers to the diverse ways of understanding affective relationships in our time. She explains it in this way: "A sort of Pandora's box opened up, to offer me and pretty much everyone around me, a variety of relationship forms of all kind. Polyamory, open relationships, monogamy and whatsoever. It was very confused. I think this track represents that confused time." The feeling is perfectly conveyed through the track's restrained but steady groove. Eva's trademark occultist melodies and breathy lyrics that are both a celebration of freedom and an acceptance that, as emotionally complex creatures, we're destined to be dazed forever when it comes to figure out our feelings for others. In their remix, Velvet Season & The Hearts Of Gold transform the mysterious charm of the track into a weapon of dance floor seduction by adding a no-frills motorik beat and beefing up it's sub-low frequencies. It's not surprising that the remix has already been played by the emperor of cosmic sleaze himself: DJ Harvey. On the flip, 'Green Healing Highness' opens another type of gates, in this case of consciousness. As Eva recalls, the track was written in just one night after an acid trip in France in which the plants in a garden had showed her "something pure and magic", helping her understand "what it means to be healing". Overall, it feels like a more radiant take in her sound, with its whimsical arpeggios and melodies adding a bucolic touch to the psychedelic journey. The 12" comes housed in a sleeve by Barcelona-based artist Alicia Carrera.

The duo explore steely techno in five warehouse-ready tracks which unfold over extended run times. The eerie synth line, wall-shaking kick drums and vocal sample of 'Repeat' set the tone. 'Mercury Retrograde' continues with a heavy, eyes-down pulse before 'Cygnus' soars into an epic crescendo. 'Messenger Of God' and a digital-only version of the opening track provide tough dancefloor weapons to complete a slick EP that shows Fur Coat to be masters of their sound.

For its second release of 2018, microcastle welcomes the mysterious Cornucopia project back to the label for a new EP. The publicity shy artist first appeared in May of 2016 when 'The Day You Got Older And Stronger' was released courtesy of Gorje Hewek & Izhevski's Shanti Moscow Radio. Shortly thereafter came his microcastle debut with 'Pursuit of the Orange Butterfly'. A lo-fi, organic and deeply musical creation that the underground fell in love with. 2017 was met with just one release, 'Letter For Poly' which launched Lee Burridge's new Tale & Tone imprint. Sitting at #1 in Beatport's overall Top 100 the track was also aired on BBC Radio 1 by Kolsch and by year's end was considered one of 2017's best deep house tracks. Now returning to the comfortable home of microcastle, Cornucopia presents his much anticipated 'Forever Gone' EP.

Spread across three tracks, 'Forever Gone' is a transcendent blend of music and nature, an organic methodology which Cornucopia seems so apt at crafting. The flamboyant and off-kilter title track from Rone's latest album, 'Mirapolis' is one of the last solo tracks that the producer composed in the spring of 2017: 'it's one of the rare tracks on the album for which I thought about the live performance. While putting the final touches to it in the studio, I imagined myself at festivals via memories of previous tours. I wanted to record a festive track, which completely stands by its 'funfair' vibe.' With this new four-track EP (including three remixes), combined with a new video by Aurélie Castex, Rone extends the carnival of electronic cultures of his latest musical citadel to the dancefloor - and our screens. Johannes Brecht, shadow craftsman of the Hamburg label Diyanamic's studios, offers a refined reading throbbing with cerebral pulsations. Appropriating the main theme in a subtle way, coated with multiple harmonic layers, his textures alternate white noise with organic basses that builds up to a delightfully classical cello outro. German-based figurehead of the South American scene, Comeme label boss and founding member of the late Closer Music project, Matias Aguayo, has never ceased throughout his career to set off little revolutions on the planet of demanding dancefloors. Playful and wild, Aguayo sweeps in with a ritornello of chiptune sounds and orchestral arrangements, washing it over with a huge wave of analog synthesizers that destroys everything in its path. French techno scene boss Laurent Garnier embraces the original piece in all its meticulousness and its psychedelic lifeblood.

Sapiens label boss, Agoria, invites Cannes' highly regarded Limelight resident Nicolas Masseyeff to the floor with a deep, dark and enignimatic two track EP 'Muse'. Opening with EP title track, 'Muse' blends bold, ominous synth lines and stripped back percussion for a driven, Bodzin-esque cut of the highest order. On the flip, is the subtle groove filled 'Moment of Truth', neatly textured with layers of intricate percussion and brooding synth toplines.

Unnatural, uneasy, unexpected. 'The Great Filter' keeps you on your toes constantly, it makes your fingers tingle with anticipation and the hairs on your arms stand up from the tension. It is eerily calm and controlled, while it takes you to faraway places in the twilight, that don't actually exist. Subdued, bright yellow light with no sun in sight. Wide plains with an inherent structure that can only be illogical. Unorganic sounds, alien voices, excited synths and sobering organs. Reality is so mundane. The way we are now expecting it from Krink, he does what is unexpected and stretches conventions somewhere around techno and deep house. The music is driven by imagery rather than song structure. The EP puts cutting rhythms over comfort and sound over beauty. Like a focused dream, it is concrete and abstract. Let's get found in the universe. Autarkic describe himself as first and foremost a songwriter but he has also made a name for himself as an international DJ. Over the past three years the musician based In Tel Aviv has, with great success, played clubs throughout all of Europe. One extra memorable gig was on last year's edition of Convenanza in the amphitheatre in Sete, France. Rumour has it that the sea living mammals of the area flocked in large groups in the waters below during Autarkic's gig.

This 12'' record is his first release on Hoga Nord Rekords and the slightly psychedelic, sample- and synthesiser based club music that has become Autarkic's trademark sound is captured by an impeccable production. The music is playful, yet stripped down to the essentials and not overloaded. The vocal elements works more as percussive elements than the carrier of the storytelling in the music.

Beginning with the evolving textures, exotic drums and tonal creativities of the title cut, the EP then shifts energy to the modular intensity and oriental themes of 'Big Sky', before ultimately melting down to the tranquil, meditative yet spiritually uplifting expedition that is 'Epathia'.

We are pleased to present you the second EP of the infernal duo INTERNACIONAL ELECTRICAL RHYTHMS formed of Trikk and Mathias Schober. Let's dive right in and start with "Azaka" and it's live recorded percussions. This track just builds and builds until it falls back into that irresistible and sexy main groove. It reminds a bit of old DJ Gregory tracks - just 10 BPM less. Some would even say it is epic, we wouldn't argue though. Anyways, it serves the dance floor well and proved it many times in the past.
The second track "Kosanba" keeps the EP in balance. "Kosanba" sounds more like a Sci-Fi movie soundtrack at first listen. A basic rhythm built around a modular sequence, upright piano, washed out guitars and an eerie spacey melody with tons of reverb form a track that still works in a club context, yet it's definitely one of those tracks for the right moments as it sets a different tone for sure. Bruno and Mathias sure continue what they've started so well last year with their INTERNACIONAL ELECTRICAL RHYTHMS disguise.

Nazca Records was created to collect the music and art that Viracochas (beings of other worlds), shared with the ancient Nazca people, known for their love for music, dance and nature.

narrated through 2 original songs that are completed by 2 remixes, the first one by the magic Viracocha El Búho, and the second by Viracochas Klik & Frik.

This third vinyl contains recordings of the Viracocha Thodoris Triantafillou. A disc, a journey, a history, a contact narrated along 2 tracks and completed by the remix of one of the most famous Viracochas remembered Love Over Entropy.

Autarkic makes up part of an unspoken alliance from TelAviv, which is currently altering the state of contemporary house and techno music. Heavy Dreamer, the artist's first, four track outing on Life and Death, showcases much of what this bold movement is about, all while pushing it forward into progress.

Ever present tones of kraut and punk rock flow throughout the EP, beginning with Some Things To Keep, a pumping, warehouse floor filler. Autarkic steps up to the mic, often re-amping and distorting his vocal delivery, placing it alongside finely programmed keyboard riffs, tough drums and further psychedelia. Realistic Guru, the trippiest of the lot, is tailor made for an early morning DJ Tennis afterparty excursion.

Slowing down the pace on Powerhouse, Autarkic hints at moments of Bauhaus' and Tones on Tail's doom and dance pop, while offering up a digital only, stripped down, bonus version. The title track stands as a testament to this new wave of artists, coming from the shores of Israel's Mediterranean coastline. Bass, drums and guitar are recorded through bespoke boxes and presented through the lens of modernist club culture. Life and Death 37 marks a moment in time

After gaining international praise from their hugely successful EP, 'L.D.O.E', Aaaron & Deckert return to the stage, this time debuting their forthcoming EP, 'Wide Eyes', on Scatcity Records. The pair offer more of their immersive and melodic techno, with
JMII and Skatman coming through on the remix duties. 

Low-pounding subs sets 'Wide Eyes' menacing tone from the very start, filtering gradually a range of rumbling low-end synths against a punchy drum pattern. Slow warbling synths slowly build into the tracks main attraction; Nessi, who offers a raw and chilling vocal display that floats you effortlessly into the early hours. 

With 'Titans', the duo once again build upon their impressive sub-heavy work, this time enriching their creation of dense musical atmospheres through a range of mystic synth chords and deep brass attacks that expand and resonate throughout. 

Skatman flips the headline track entirely, stripping back Nessi's vocals to only display her deep soulful howls that echo over his impressive melodic chord sequencing.

JMII's remix of 'Titans' Is definitely one for the later hours, transforming the duos sub heavy realm into a range of crunchy, industrial drum patterns that multiply across an array of analogue synth lines.

Curating their second release on the newly established independent imprint TAU, the Adana Twins are keen to support the best
up-and-coming talent from a saturated DJ/Producer market. The second release showcases yet another rising star; Paris-based,
Romanian born - BOg.
BOg first broke onto the electronic music landscape after being signed to John Digweed's 'Bedrock Records'. 12-years down the
line he's released on Dixon's Innervisions & Solomun's Diynamic, BOg is a constant in the record bags of DJs across the globe.
Drawing strong influences from bands and artists such as Depeche Mode, The Prodigy, Aphex Twin or The Chemical Brothers,
BOg's 'Terra EP' has an evident other-worldly feel.
Innellea returns to TAU002 this time on remix duties, remixing 'Terra' and further cementing his position as a core artist on TAU.
The B-side remix of 'Jahar' comes from Mathias Schober, chosen for the Adana Twins love his sound design and aesthetic, the
producer delivers a remix rounding off the solid 'Terra' EP.

Man Power his raw electronic sound, organic flourishes and diverse selection make him a perfect match for DGTL, both on stage as well as on the imprint. Next to releasing a steady flow of records on established labels like ESP Institute, Optimo Trax, Correspondant and Hivern Discs, Man Power is running his own shop as well: Me Me Me. This gives him an outlet to release music by both friends and himself. For his release on DGTL Records he created a three-track EP called Apologue EP, that showcases just two of different sides of his multi-faceted musical scope.

The a-side features two firm, acid influenced tracks. The first of these two, The Duelist, is an emotive house record, with a soundscape of piano melodies, synths and syncopated percussion laid on top of an acid bassline. El Mago del Tiempo features heavy hitting kicks combined with a sharp synth pattern. It has a long build up that keeps evolving throughout the entire composition. Halfway through, the track breaks in to a raw and fierce rhythm accompanied by yearning, drawn-out synth pads.
On the flipside, Put Your Hands on the Car (And Get Ready To Die) brings back memories of a long gone past with nods to Balearic Pop, EBM, and the Soundtrack work of Stewart Copeland, James Horner, and Jan Hammer. This multi layered production has a warm and analogue sounding feel to it that rounds off a 3 dimensional release.
